Episode 2
They’re in NY. It’s November 2021. They are running away from paparazzi that…aren’t there? Meghan says there was a guy recording them in the basement but the footage is Kate and Diana. Lol, they are in the NJ Turnpike pretending they are being followed by paps. This is bizarre and hilarious.
More bitching about social media harassment, which is apparently a bunch of Twitter posts.
Doria does a confessional. Why isn’t Doria pretending she didn’t know who Harry was? Didn’t she get the brief? How does the yoga teacher know about the royals but the Northwestern International Relations graduate does not? She knew right away too. It’s a weird disconnect and the show is full of them. Every two minutes they say something that makes you go “Whaaaaaat? Didn’t they just say….”
Relationship breaks. They “felt tremendous relief.” Of course they did. They leaked it. No mention of the Reitman’s collection or the fact that this was leaking during on of Charles’ big trips. No spooning bananas instagram pic either.
Tatcha CEO is credited as “friend.” Wellness podcaster “friend.” Former agent.  Lol, these people are business associates, not friends. First mention of Meghan’s fauxlantropist work, which baffles me as they should have led with that. “Childhood friend” of Harry’s that I never heard of shows up again. Harry really was ringing up everyone in the Eton yearbook trying to find some desperate classmate hungry for exposure. Montage of the press Sunshine Sachs and Nina Crowne set up for her—UN, Rwanda, etc…. They did nice work and they should have spent more time on this. But maybe not. Someone may start wondering what happened to her passion for Rwandan women’s political rights, hygiene, and menstrual pads. But if you pay for an expensive pr makeover you should use it.
According to Tom Bower she was paying SS $7500/mo and I’m amazed at what a good pr company can do with a four figure monthly stipend. The “classy” makeover lasted three months so they turned her into a humanitarian princess for less than $25k. Impressive.
Flower shop pap walk. Interesting choice since this wasn’t the first pap shot of Meghan and she seems to imply it was. The first pap shot was days earlier at her house and she had a security team with her. I wonder why she picked the flower shop shot which is actually a lot less intrusive (in appearance at least) than the real first pic. Maybe because she had security in the earlier picture? Meghan claims there were 8 or 9 paps at the flower shop but there’s only one video so that seems unlikely. Shop wasn’t anywhere near her house also. Rumor was Marcus took this shot. Maybe she was trying to send some money his way by using his pic.
Stock video of paps because she has no video of paps chasing her of course. Pics of official royal events.
Back to Toronto. Lol, those are clearly security guards in her porch and not paps. Ditto with her landlord’s security cameras. I think there was a DM article when those went up and Legion Media’s pic still states that those cameras were mounted on what was Meghan’s garage and not on her neighbor’s house as the documentary implies.
At least she doesn’t mention the fake break-in. Guess she knows that won’t fly anymore. But still, how can you show video from the cameras in front of the house and then claim the cameras in the back were from the neighbors? Obviously the house had cameras in the back too.
[Edited to add: She says Toronto police didn't protect her and the police strongly disagree.]
“My face was everywhere, my life was everywhere.” She blames the tabloids, but that wasn’t true. You were leaking stories to US Weekly and Lainey every other day, girl. It was part of your “classy” makeover. No mention of that weird video of Ivy Mulroney that was sent to the DM. Odd since you would think that would be a big intrusion, if it had been done by a pap.
“There were things that were said and things that were written that I had to go to her to ask.” That would be the cheating on Cory and Del Zotto, I guess.
Back to LA. My husband asks what she did to her nose. It does look weird in this shot.
Doria and Meghan tour LA and Meghan’s life was not that interesting. This should have been edited, heavily. I do love that she sold the same childhood pics her dad sold. Like father, like daughter. Dish soap commercial. My husband asks how much plastic surgery she has had because she looks nothing like her old self. Interesting that he’s only half-watching and his main impressions are drugs and plastic surgery.
Racism and media persecution. Wait, some of these pics are from before the relationship broke. They are from the paps she hired during her European vacation with Jess.
Academic guy blames the UK tabloids for fanning the madness. No mention of Omid Scobie and USWeekly, who were the ones steadily pushing the romance narrative with stories about Charles meeting her at Birkhall and William meeting her at Kensington Palace, as well as their vacation plans.
And Lainey Liu was boasting that the US mags were getting the scoops and not the UK tabloids because Harry was feeding the stories only to the US. So why blame the UK tabloids, Harry? You knew what you were doing. They could finesse this in 2016 when no one knew that Lainey was friends with Meghan and that Omid was their mouthpiece, but that is not the case anymore. Their unofficial biographer was leaking these stories in 2016. It was not the UK tabloids!
And then there was Meghan herself, Instagramming all over the place.
Whole Foods pap walk. According to Tom Bower, Richard Kay was the guy who got the pic. Unbelievable. That actually surprised me. No wonder that detail was never released. No one would have believed that Diana's big confidante just randomly noticed Meghan walking into KP.
Kensington Palace statement. No mention of William supporting the statement. No mention of the Caribbean tour that got overshadowed by the romance.
NAACP award really was in front of a green screen with an applause soundtrack.  LOLOLOLOL. It looks so sad, particularly when compared to the footage of the royal events. I think this is supposed to show that their life is better than before (They get awards! In front of green screens!) but it gives the exact opposite impression.
Harry with the hummingbird feeder also looks sad and pathetic. Archie could be in Africa petting elephants but he’s in Cali admiring hummingbirds instead.
Meghan’s personal assistant talks about how she would be recognized in the Toronto grocery stores. Lol, no. She wishes!
Security stuff, including complaints about paps around the Suits trailers which seems odd to me since those are pretty standard for television productions. Also, why are the Invictus Games pictures intrusive? Suits security guy says they were coordinating her security with the palace and “they would handle that stuff.” Interesting detail since she claims she wasn’t protected by the palace and Harry was “hearing this from miles away, completely helpless.” Apparently, she was protected and from day one. Did they watch this before they sent it to Netflix? Did they not notice that half the stuff they put in it contradicts the other half?
Boring stuff…April 2017 already? They are booking flights to Pippa’s wedding and her Vanity Fair photoshoot through texts. LOL, she was doing a huge interview at the time, but she’s complaining about media intrusion. Make it make sense.
Pics with friends riding bikes. Old pic in her Toronto kitchen. Did they use this one twice? I would not have used it even once. Wait, was this what she was wearing when she met Will and Kate? LOLOLOLOL. “That formality carried over in real life.” I guess Kate was wearing shoes when she met Meghan. The nerve of that girl!
Andrew helped them ambush the Queen at Royal Lodge. That got leaked to Scobie at US Weekly too.
“How do you explain that you have to bow to your grandmother?” Uh, she was like….The Queen? What part of that is hard to understand?
She just compared meeting the Queen to Medieval Times. Wow. Big, exaggerated curtsy. She sounds and looks like an idiot. Fergie said she did great. Of course she did. She didn’t know how to curtsy? How does someone go through high school theater in the United States of Disney without knowing how to curtsy? [Edited: HRH Emilie found a clip of a curtsy scene she did for Suits because of course she did]
His family was impressed. LOL, I don’t think so. The actress thing was the biggest problem…wait, wasn’t her race the biggest problem? Can’t they keep their stories straight?
Interestingly the very first Blind Gossip blind was about how her profession was the problem and not her race. I suspected these blinds came from the Yorks and now I feel pretty good about that guess.
Meghan’s career. No blow-job or cocaine scene. No mention of her old blog. Interesting. I guess I can sort of understand that, but no mention of Trevor either? Are they going to pretend she was never married? No stories about being poor and crawling out of the back of her dad’s old truck either.
First biracial character? Eh, no. Meg was the glue for a lot of those cast relationships, but only one cast members participated in the documentary. Did no one do a consistency check on this show?
Screenshot of the Tig…with Cory front and center. That is hilarious because I don’t think they’ve mentioned him yet. Okay, now I’m sure Meghan didn’t watch this before it went live. She would have caught that and asked them to use a different shot.
“I didn’t want to find the great indie film that would win me an Oscar. I just wanted to volunteer.” She was literally releasing an indie film at this time. It was terrible. This documentary is like a lie-a-thon. Every other statement is a complete lie.
UN Speech. Is the crowd shot a stock picture (or archival picture, whichever is the right term)?  It feels edited in. Jump to September 2021 at the UN. Okay, so the whole point of that meeting was the documentary. We knew that.
Proposal. He couldn’t do it outside the UK? Everyone else has done so outside the UK. What are you talking about, Harry?
Also, no mention of her appearance at Invictus Games? How come none of their charities are getting shout-outs? No mention of the “Mad About Harry” Vanity Fair article or the backlash and you’d think that would be a big deal because she eventually called it racist, no? I guess they don’t want to admit that she was feeding the flames of press coverage.
Funny how they aren’t bitching about the UK tabloids harassing her after the moved to the UK. Could it be because the tabloids were not reporting on that…but Lainey and Hello! Canada (Where Jess started leaking after US Weekly got bought out by National Enquirer and Omid got fired) did.
She got the proposal on video. That’s is hilarious. He proposed with fake candles in their yard. How…tacky. Penguin onesies? Why would you want to tell the world that? I’d love some inside info as to how they pitched this to the director. “Sure the palace made sure our engagement sounded glamorous and romantic, but we are not about that. We want to tell them about the LED candles and penguin onesies. It will make us look cheap and tacky? Of course not, everyone will think we are fun and relatable.”
Cheesy Calvin Klein perfume ad engagement pictures with hideously expensive feather dress. We thought that was super tacky and we didn’t even know about the LED candles and penguin onesies. No mention of how much the dress cost or the backlash it caused. Lots of interviews about how excited people were.
Engagement photocall was a lot more glamorous than anything they’ve done for this documentary. The royals really know how to manage occasions. Hard to believe these two are the same couple from the grainy proposal video. Goes to show how persuasive good pr can be. They almost looked regal.
Brexit? Boris Johnson? Really? Intrusion into the lives of the royal family was due to…Brexit and anti-immigration sentiment? I swear this documentary is like Mad Libs. They are just throwing stuff out at random. Paparazzi….penguin onesies….racism…..Brexit…. The Brexit referendum was in June 2016 and the engagement was in November 2017 so I’m not sure why they are even bringing it up.
“They are just trying to destroy me.” The Brexit movement was trying to destroy her?
It’s over. Wait, they didn’t mention her prior marriage at all??? Lolololol. Brexit is apparently more relevant to her story than her previous marriage. I guess that’s why she didn’t add her first wedding pics and the weed wedding favors to the list of press intrusions. The “phone hack” wasn’t mentioned either or the leaked topless pic. I guess she’s still pretending those weren’t pictures of her.
We seem to be at the engagement and there have been some other interesting omissions, namely Skippy’s wedding and Pippa’s wedding. Weird because you’d think Skippy’s wedding would be a perfect example of press intrusion too. I understand why they left out Pippa’s wedding though. Kinda awkward to admit Pippa invited you to her intimate, family wedding in the same episode where you call her sister “formal.”
Plus Audi polo, the birthday trip in Africa, Vanity Fair, Invictus…they all got left out. This episode curated the timeline to make it look like Meghan did nothing to encourage coverage and press speculation, and that is far from the truth. Her family is also missing and they were stirring the pot all through this time period. They were talking to the press basically every month.
My husband lost interest at this point. He had no comments other than to say her nose looked fake and the pap chase was fake. The group chat discussed whether they truly thought they had a pap chasing them. Everyone thought that was fake because the camerawork was too perfect. They scoffed at the Medieval Times comment and the curtsy. Someone laughed at the Oscar comment.
This was pretty boring. The fake pap chase was the best part.
BTW, Tumblr has a 10-link limit now? How annoying.
On to the next episode.

"Once upon a time, Meghan Markle was a TV actress who worked on a successful show and ran a popular lifestyle blog called The Tig on the side. In her adopted home of Toronto, Canada — where Suits filmed for seven seasons — she spent most of her time hanging out with her castmates, practicing yoga and taking her beagle, Guy, for walks. Then she met Prince Harry.
"The pair wed in May 2018 and welcomed son Archie the following year. Meghan had found her Prince Charming, but life behind palace doors was no fairy tale. There was tension with Prince William and Princess Kate, and Meghan took a beating in the U.K. press. 'You’re established in one world and then you enter another and your narrative is dictated by external forces,' a family friend shares in the latest issue of Us Weekly. Amid intense backlash, Meghan, 43, and Harry, 39, left the U.K. in early 2020. They eventually landed in scenic Montecito, California (they purchased their $14 million mansion in July 2020), and had their second child, daughter Lilibet, in June 2021.
"While trying to process the events of the previous few years, she and Harry spoke candidly about some of the trauma they say they faced within the monarchy, first in a March 2021 bombshell TV sit-down and again in their hit 2022 Netflix docuseries, Harry & Meghan. Harry covered similar ground in his more expansive 2023 memoir, Spare. Meanwhile, Meghan shared additional revelations about royal life on her Spotify podcast, 'Archetypes,' until mutually parting ways with the streaming giant in June 2023.
"She briefly appeared to take a breather. But in recent months, Meghan’s been back in the game full throttle. She’s set to launch her lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, and her new Netflix series, centered around cooking, entertaining and gardening, has finished filming. In July, she joined a slew of Hollywood heavyweights, including Reese Witherspoon and Gwyneth Paltrow, at the Hamptons home of power broker Amy Griffin for a one-day business summit. 'Meghan was there to network,' says an insider. 'She was very kind and humble and eager to learn.'
"She’s been busy with philanthropic endeavors, too. In August, Meghan and Harry sat down with CBS News to discuss their new campaign, The Parents’ Network, which aims to protect kids from online harm. Two weeks later, they wrapped up a four-day visit to Colombia, marking their second international tour of the year following their May trip to Nigeria. '[I’m] looking at this as my chapter of joy,' Meghan said while attending an August 18 panel.
"'Meghan has transitioned from actress to royal to entrepreneur,” says a second insider. 'She’s worn many hats, but she believes age and experience have [prepared her] for a bigger purpose in life. She’s very happy with the role she’s carved out.'
"Here, Us talks to insiders close to Harry and Meghan about how she’s boldly stepping into her next act."

Some Sisterly Advice My Angel of a elder sister shared with me to help me love me unapologetically and knowing that life is a fiesta it should be celebrated ❤️We should be celebrated . We are the celebration and that celebration is divinely infinite 👉 Now from us to you some love ♥️
How to heal yourself.
2016
Step 1. Admit that you’ve had enough of your current conditions, internal or external.
Step 2. Be so incredibly desperate for change that absolutely nothing, and I mean nothing, is going to stop you from changing the way your life is and how you live it.
Step 3. Start with something simple. Start moving your body and feeding it better. Right now, it’s the most immediate change that can start in your immediate environment.
Step 4. Start to research something your inner voice has been asking you to do. Simple exercises, meditation and breathing techniques to help you find calm in a crazy world, inner and outer.
Step 5. Start to integrate mindfulness into your day, starting with your thoughts, the negative ones. It’s time to build yourself back up, emotionally.
2019
Step 6. I took the spiritual/esoteric approach to self healing which introduced me to yoga, the Bahgavad Gita, The Mahabharata, healing the inner child and past traumas, channeling, tarot reading, brain and heart coherence, the human body and it’s cells, energetic healing, ufology, and psychic gifts and abilities.
Step 7. Start practicing what you’ve been taught. Now it’s time to work. Every day you will now be the loving and caring, mindful and compassionate, caring, forgiving and loving student of the Universe, for your greatest good and the greatest good of all.
Step 8. Go with the flow. Once you’ve let go of your deep hurts and restrictions there is a peace that you start to embody that starts to push you to practice giving up the need to control every aspect of your day. Learn to ride the waves of other peoples emotions, your own emotions and the things that happen during your day that you may want to “fix” or “organise”.
Step 9. Go deeper into why you feel the need to control everything and learn about the ego.
2020
Step 10. Welcome to shadow work. This is where it gets a bit rough but, with a strong inner focus on love and your intentions dead set on healing, you will be able to survive the next chapter of your life where the universe shows you how tough you really are by taking everything that once gave you pleasure, comfort and even, love. It’s time to learn to surrender to change and know that as painful as it is in the moment, it is happening because you chose to love yourself. It seems a little odd saying that but, after all that I’ve learned on my journey of healing so far, I know in my heart, the heart that is now connected to all things, the universe loves you unconditionally. The changes that you experience may feel otherwise however when you turn to your higher power, each and every time the world changes a bit more, in a bullet to the heart way, you will be caught, you will be loved through your pain, your tears will flow and your heart will open to the benevolence of the universe and just how much it loves you.
Note*
Step 1 to 10 took me 5 years to complete. Although I battled myself, slipped into depression, wouldn’t honour it and decided to self medicate through the pain. I threw myself into my creativity centre as an escape and started building miniature houses.
2021
Step 10.1. Decide that you are ready to heal, again, and start step 1. This time you sort of jump over steps 2 and 3. Step 4 hits a little harder this time around, at least it did in my case. My passions are simple, I love human beings to death, healing humans with the knowledge and abilities I have developed is my second passion, the third is cars. I love engines. I think they are fantastic works of human mechanical engineering genius. This love pushed me to follow the passion and be a mechanical engineering apprentice for a month on a macadamia and avocado farm.
The reason this step 4 hit harder than before was because doing something I was PASSIONATE about it got the universe spinning again, and with that I had to say another sad goodbye to one’s I loved as they left the planet, and others I had to let go of.
Step 10.2. Divine placement. Feeling lost will feel normal round about now. There will be an existential loneliness hanging over you like a weighted blanket and a longing for home like a hunger in your belly that you’ve never had before. You’ll look for places to call home, and might travel far and wide to try feel them out but, nothing hits the chord until you end up back at the home you left before your journey to new began a few years ago. Home doesn’t feel like home though, it’s like coming back to a memory of the past, but someone’s gone and torn all the doors off their hinges and let the land reclaim the once cared for, and tended to gardens… but it’s familiar, so it’s home anyway.
2022
Step 11. Rest, or so you may think… or wish for. You’re still healing and you’ve still got some work to do. This time the healing might become unbearable, like you’re waiting in a train station where no trains ever travel to. So what you’ve got now is time. All the time in the world to talk to yourself and work out the very last kinks in your internal dialogue, the one so deep it can only be contacted in dreams, and it only speaks to you in riddles.
2023
Step 12. Time to walk, the train isn’t coming.
A new awareness grows inside of you, one that comforts you in the knowledge that you are you own creation and your journey is one to walk with curiosity and excitement.
Step 13. To be revised when I get there. @danigthehippie

boom and movie interaction ideas
scu tails and sonic keep getting people to have a hand shake with scu knuckles. theyll just be off to the side grinning wildly as someone makes the huge mistake of offering scu knuckles a hand shake who is doing his best and trying to be polite so of course gives them one without realizing how much pain he causes.
scu sonic probably got most of his belonging when was living in the cave by collecting stuff people had thrown away so sees nothing wrong with rummaging through garbage. And getting confused when someone calls Sticks out for doing it. “But people throw good things away all the time”
Sticks and scu tails being boomerang buddies.
Scu sonic thinks amy’s giant hammer is one of the the coolest things
everyone gets “donut lord/pretzel lady” style nicknames
The Boom team trying to explain to scu tails and sonic that spying on someone to learn about them is not how to make friends
dave the intern says something vaguely rude towards scu tails and scu sonic and knuckles take this as an insult to their little brother. and are ready to jump the counter and throw hands in their little brothers honor.
scu tail won’t stop making deadly and intense weaponry. (like the wedding cake exploder gun thing) and at one point  gets yelled at by Amy “WHY WOULD YOU MAKE THAT” “idk seemed fun”
the miles electric has caused a LOT of trouble (they didn’t tell anyone about the hologram function at first) some incidents include: a hologram repeatedly entering a room from the same door and everyone loosing their mind. using it to look like scu tails beat boom sonic to somewhere. an incident that caused sticks to run into the woods and not be see for hours

general sonic headcannons
Rouge made team dark play untitled goose game. It quickly became one of their favorite games.
Sonic was once in the city and got the impulsive thought of “grab pigeon”  and he succeeded. Sonic then stood there for five minutes processing what to do next because his brain hadn’t come up with what to do next.
Knuckles has an extremely skewed sense of time. Like he sees midnight as a reasonable time for visits, he’ll have breakfast anywhere between 1 am and 11 am, he’s willing to wait for what everyone else considers absurd amounts of time but to him are nothing.
Silver loves collecting random trinkets. Especially things that most people these days would take for granted, everyone likes to give him random items to see his face light up with wonder.
Silver lives half in the present and half in the future.
Big gives the best hugs. Team Chaotix especially appreciate them during winter.
Not a single person in the group uses a chair in a normal way.

Another thing I love about the sonic movies (that gives me major neurodivergent vibes) is seeing how the kids are leaning by mimicking.
We have sonic in the first movie copying Tom with pressing the ice to his face and Maddie with the yoga (come to think of it a majority of Sonics learning probably was from mimicry) oh yeah the trying to smash a bottle of a guys head because he saw it in a movie.
Then Tails with the dance sequence (I’m sure there was more but I can’t think of it off of the top of my head)
And knuckles getting ready to join the battle just like the older warriors. and especially the scene where he sees Robotnik playing around and acting destructive to the sonic hologram and then proceeds to do it himself. Or how sonic throws sand so he starts doing it to (I love this scene it really help remind you that they’re teenagers who went through hell and had to grow up too fast)    And The particular way he uses a handshake or power bump once he learns what they are.
I know there’s more examples of all three of them doing this but I’ll have them to rewatch the films to remember
anyway they’re neurodivergent and I love them for it.

i notice a lot of fanart likes to portray SCU sonic as being around waist height to boom sonic and following that logic I used these two screenshots to try and compare the scu and boom characters
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They where the closest I found where all the characters where standing straight/neutral in a line and all basically the same distance from the camera.
So I lined them up, put scu sonic at about waist height and measured them.

The Power Of The Streak
Tumblr media
I started doing yoga in 2021. That was kind of an inflection point in my life — I had just left a pretty dark and consuming chapter of my life behind and had just moved back home from Europe, where I’d spent the last 10 odd years of my life.
I was 27 and felt like I’d pretty much pissed the better part of my 20s down the drain. I was pretty anxious at a baseline level and wanted to make sure I wouldn’t be 33 or 38 and feel the same pangs of regret.
So, inspired by the atomic habits school of thought, i decided to embrace micro habits and make sure I stick to them every day, without expecting any results in the short term. I started with exercising and stuck with it for a good amount of time before the second wave of Covid hit.
It was around this time — say late April to May 2021, that I got initiated into Kriya Yoga — I had dabbled quite a bit in youtube spirituality by that point and was itching to do something practical — i.e real — to advance my spiritual journey. Watching videos, reading books, ingesting substances and endlessly pontificating just wasn’t cutting it. So, I got initiated and committed to doing the practice every day no matter what. I’d never done anything that consistently before in my life. NEVER.
I figured — I already know this is going to be good for me. It can only make me better. And it’s just 30–35 mins a day. If I can’t invest that much time towards feeling better and improving my experience of life, then, what am I really doing here? There was no way I was going to let my lesser instincts get the better of me against that foolproof, airtight logic.
Or so I thought.
It was bloody brutal! We were meant to do the practice twice a day for the first 48 days after initiation (what’s called a mandala in yoga) and then at least once a day for 6 months. The first few days were terrible! I realised just how messy and out of order I was internally. Keeping myself accountable enough to get done with the practice twice a day on an empty stomach with at least 4 hours between each session, and keeping this on with work and other commitments just exposed the extent of my internal chaos and disorder.
I was insanely stressed and fell sick multiple times in those 48 days. Anyway, I somehow got around to maintaining the streak. I maintained it for more than a year and a half. Sometimes, I would rush through the practice and not really give it my full attention but I nevertheless kept my streak up, for what that was worth.
Slowly but surely, I saw changes. Infinitesimal almost. But i did see them. My anxiety levels came down gradually. There were still bad days. But there were days when I was just able to wake up and get through the day without the dread taking hold of me.
It’s coming up to three years now and I’m still doing the practice. I’ve missed a few sessions here and there but keeping the streak intact for the first year and half meant that I never really fell off the horse after that — even when I gave the practice up for a few days here and there.
That set off a chain of changes in my life. It’s not like I saw my life improving in real-time. There was still a lot of struggle and angst. But, now, looking back, I see that the shift started there — with the commitment to doing the practice every day.
Now, I’m a big believer in the power of the streak. I’ve completed a number of streaks after that. But the one that started it all was the kriya streak. Now, my life looks very different. Not so much in terms of the externals — but in terms of my experience of life. I feel a lot more pleasant on a regular basis. I can handle emotional upheavals with a lot more grace and ease. My brain function is sharper — I feel less foggy and am able to recollect thoughts, conversations, tasks and facts much more easily. My anxiety levels are way lower. I still struggled with habits like compulsive sexuality, smoking etc for a while but they’ve settled down to a huge extent now.
Now, I do many more practices on top of that one on a daily basis. It’s insane how much of a change it makes to just commit to doing one thing for a few minutes a day, every day for a couple of years.
A few years ago, I would not have dreamt of this kind of thing — I would have dismissed a post like this. But today, having seen the results first hand, it’s hard to argue with it. But it still seems baffling though — hard to believe almost. Our brains are so fried with instant dopamine thrills that it’s hard to wrap our heads around the idea of compounding results over a period of time resulting from small, daily actions.
Well, there you go!

Why choose Day Boarding School in west Bengal
In the rugged terrain of West Bengal, there is a strong perception of the region as a centre of education. West Bengal attracts a lot of motivated students who are drawn to their institution by its widespread renown and impressive track record of academic success. Trying to narrow down the many alternatives available to choose from when choosing the top day boarding school in West Bengal may be difficult because there are a lot of factors to consider.
Sri Sri Academy offers a calm and stress-free setting where kids may participate in educational and developmental activities. It offers a coeducational, English-medium school designed to support and instruct students in Pre-Primary through Senior Secondary, which is what makes it appealing for a day boarding school in Siliguri.
Out of its other several reasons, the reason why you should choose Sri Sri Academy as the day Boarding school is because of its many felicitations which anchors recognition to this deemed institution. It offers a diverse curriculum, inclusive of sports, great infrastructure and boarding facilities, an amazing food menu, DMIT coaching and many more facilities. It has also been awarded with the India School Merit Award 2020-2021 and Mother Teresa International Award 2019.
Tumblr media
Hence, choose Sri Sri Academy as the best day boarding school in West Bengal as it runs on the vision of Gurudev, Sri Sri Ravishankar Ji and has designed an atmosphere inclusive of activities like Meditation, Yoga to name a few.

Of the three European dramas so far remade for UK television by Eagle Eye Drama – the production company set up by the team behind streaming service Walter Presents – Belgian director Dries Vos has worked on two.
The first was Professor T, with Vos directing 12 episodes over its first two seasons. Debuting in 2021, the ITV series is based on the Belgian show of the same name and stars Ben Miller as a university criminologist with obsessive-compulsive disorder who assists the police in solving crimes.
Last year then saw the release of Channel 4 drama Suspect, an adaptation of Danish series Forhøret. It stars James Nesbitt as a detective retracing the final days of his murdered daughter to find out what happened.
Vos directed all eight episodes of Suspect, which has been recommissioned for a second season, and he has now directed all six parts of The Couple Next Door, the latest Eagle Eye adaptation, again for Channel 4.
A dark, psychological and emotionally charged thriller written by David Allison (Bedlam, Marcella), the series is based on Dutch drama New Neighbours and aims to explore the claustrophobia of living in suburbia, where you never quite know what goes on behind closed doors.
Tumblr media
Eleanor Tomlinson and Alfred Enoch star as Evie and Pete, who move into a new house in an upscale neighbourhood and quickly befriend their neighbours, traffic cop Danny (Sam Heughan) and his yoga instructor wife Becka (Jessica De Gouw). The two couples then becoming increasingly close until events on one fateful night change all their lives forever.
In Belgium, Vos is known for comedy series and crime dramas such as Women of the Night and De Dag (The Day), which dramatised the events surrounding a bank robbery from the point of view of both the police and the robbers.
“But I’ve always wanted to do some kind of sexy thriller,” the director tells DQ. “I’ve always done these more heist stories like De Dag, for instance, but this was completely different. Eagle Eye talked about it in September 2022, when they had two scripts, and I started reading it and immediately felt it could be something. We then started working on it first at a script level, of course, and then we started shooting at the end of March this year.”
Having worked on remakes in the past, Vos adopted the same approach for The Couple Next Door that he used when working on Professor T and Suspect, which is to ignore the fact it is based on another series and to treat it as if it has been created from scratch.
“I never watch the original series. I never read anything about it,” he says. “For me, it’s just the same as if it’s a new script. Otherwise, you’re in danger of stealing stuff.
“If all this influence comes my way, I might maybe try to change my vision and I just want to be clear, so I always start by trying to search for some pictures, some stuff from other movies, some references. I had some pictures that I showed the writer – there were some stills from a movie I love with some koi carp, and we ended up writing some scenes with koi. We influenced each other the whole time. But if you watch the original series then you’re too attached to what you see. That’s not always helpful.”
Tumblr media
With international dramas more accessible to viewers than ever – and Walter Presents doing as much as any other streamer to take local-language dramas around the world – remakes may seem unnecessary. But Vos still sees value in adaptations, believing the same story can evolve through the work of new storytellers in front of and behind the camera.
“It’s easily said, ‘Oh, it’s a remake,’ but you always try to invent it from scratch,” he says. “It’s the way you approach it visually [as a director] but also the way you’re directing those actors. They bring some other stuff with them as well. A writer brings some other stuff, so it’s good if you get the freedom to make it your own.
“If you don’t have that freedom and people just want to see the same as the original, there’s no point making a remake. It’s always got to be filtered through the eyes of a director or through the eyes of a writer so it’s got another perspective than the original.”
The Couple Next Door doesn’t just stand apart from the series it is inspired by, but from anything else Vos has directed in the past. “You evolve as a director, and you’re influenced by things you see and things you think are cool,” he says. “But what I always try to do is ask, ‘What is this show?’ What does this show need?’
“For instance, I like to play with genres, so this could be a romantic movie but also a fairytale or have some thriller elements, and I put them all in a box and shake it a little bit. Then I put my personality in it and there’s something new or a new visual language, or just the way you’re blocking actors or their language is different or whatever. There are so many parameters you can play with. You can still just remake something on a shot-by-shot basis, but what’s the point of it all?”
Tumblr media
Taking a cue from De Dag, a key visual trick Vos uses for The Couple Next Door is the multiple perspectives at play as characters constantly watch each other. And it’s not just Evie, Pete, Danny and Becka, but also another neighbour, Alan (Hugh Dennis), who seems to have a particular interest in Becka.
“It’s a story about lots of people. My first instinct was like, ‘Ah, this is a story about Evie.’ But if you dig into it, it evolves a little bit more towards a story about Danny and Becka as well because they have problems in their relationship,” the director explains. “There is also some stuff happening with Pete and Evie at the same time, and so it evolves by having those two couples. In the first episode, we focus more on Evie but then some episodes shift a little bit more towards Alan. I always like to have more perspectives on the same story.
“Those perspective changes are really interesting to play with narratively, but also visually. It’s about the ensemble. When you finish episode six, you will have a complete storyline for everybody.”
The filming locations also added to the claustrophobic atmosphere. Location scouts discovered a cul-de-sac in the Netherlands with homes that create a suitably heightened atmosphere owing to the fact they look like they belong in American suburbia. Filming also took place in Leeds and in Belgium.
“It’s a completely strange setup but that’s why I love it,” Vos says of the exteriors location. “So having that and also having people watching through curtains and watching each other, that’s a cool thing to play with.
Tumblr media
“It’s also a bit soapy – it’s got some soapy elements in there. But the series evolves to something completely different and completely dark by the end.”
Throughout the course of the series, it’s safe to say not everything goes to plan for the two couples, as Evie and Danny become drawn to each other over the course of the first episode. Vos used the camera to demonstrate the distances between characters, sometimes starting off distant and drawing closer, and on other occasions becoming more separated.
Of course, the actors are key to getting the right chemistry for the series, particularly Tomlinson and Heughan. Vos jokes that he just says “action… and then stuff happens,” but he also spent time with the actors to break down their characters and explain what he wanted from them.
“They went out for dinner, and there’s got to be a minimum level of trust,” he says of Tomlinson and Heughan. “It’s very interesting to see, but what I was doing was always on a gut level. You don’t have a lot of time because there are a lot of stress factors during shooting, so sometimes you have to decide on the spot.”
The challenges on the show didn’t just come down to finding the right locations to create the drama’s pristine appearance – further exemplifying the show’s theme that not everything is as it appears. In particular, “just finding the right tone was the biggest one for this series,” the director reveals, “I think it works and hopefully an audience will think the same.”
Tumblr media
The right tone, one that blends psychological thrills with charged emotion, was still being sought on the last day of filming, and continued into the editing process.
“On the last day we were still like, ‘But what is it?’ Visually we found it while we were shooting but, still, story-wise, it’s only when it’s coming together in the edit that you get that feeling,” he says. “I also spent a year searching for the right music, because music on this series makes a difference. Music can change so much.
“Then when we were at a screening, Hugh Dennis said to me, ‘You found it.’”
Audiences can judge for themselves when The Couple Next Door launches on Channel 4 on Monday. It will also air on Starz in the US and Canada in 2024, with Beta Film distributing the drama internationally.
Can Vos envisage returning for a second season? “Let’s see how it evolves, and if people love it, let’s go for a second series,” he says. “But if it’s a flop or people hate it, then it’s over. Let’s just see what happens in the next few weeks.”

🤔 The director @driesvos pushed hard if his perception was a romance narrative in a swinger relationship. If his work has anything, taking this from this and that from that and mixing them with copycat moments from films, as we saw in “The Notebook”.
This reminds Quentin Tarantino’s words once said, “I steal from every single movie ever made”. But a shared bonding experience in a lusciously dark way does not seem romantic at all and life is not a fairy tale, there is never “A happily ever after”. This is not “The Notebook” 2 🫤 with a touch from the Psychological/Thriller film “Rear Window”

Sounds from a Safe Harbour festival has announced its last brace of ticketed live and cinema programming for its 2023 instalment in September, in Cork city.
Taking place between Thursday, September 7 and Sunday, September 10, the festival has added a new film from Cillian Murphy, new theatre work from Enda Walsh, and an expansive live music offering to a four-day line-up of previously-announced music, performance and conversation events, which organisers are calling "the biggest to date".
Friday, September 8 sees the Irish premiere of All of this Unreal Time at Triskel Christchurch - a short film starring Cillian Murphy, written by celebrated author Max Porter (Grief Is The Thing With Feathers), directed by Aoife McArdle, and featuring music by festival co-curators Aaron & Bryce Dessner (The National), and UK electronic producer Jon Hopkins. The 24-minute film was originally commissioned and produced by Manchester International Festival in 2021.
On Saturday 9 and Sunday 10, the festival stages a co-production with the Abbey Theatre of Untitled Song Cycle, by festival co-curator Enda Walsh and Anna Mullarkey, at the Cork Arts Theatre; sung by Aoife Duffin with projections by Jack Phelan - a work-in-progress detailing the impact of bullying and memory on a woman who leaves her small town.
American composer and musician Alex Somers, and special guests, head to the Marina Market on Saturday, September 9 at 10pm, providing "a way of experiencing music in a live environment where slowing down, focussing on your senses and being present in the moment are the aim", according to the Sigur RĂłs producer - patrons are encouraged to bring their yoga mats.
Seanie Buttons presents Mayfield punks Pretty Happy at the Opera House's Green Room on Friday, September 8; and Cork-based singer and songwriter Elaine Malone launches debut LP Pyrrhic on Saturday, September 9, at the same venue.
Meanwhile, at the newly-refurbished Pavilion venue on Carey's Lane, Saturday September 9 sees a midday performance from Rónán Ó Snodaigh (Kíla) and Myles O'Reilly, with songs from new album The Beautiful Road representing a crossover of tradition and ambient music. American songwriter and producer Caroline Rose will also perform at the venue that afternoon.
The Pav also plays host to the festival's late-night club, with DJ Sally Cinnamon anchoring proceedings with special guests on the Friday and Saturday nights.
Speaking on a heavily-loaded announcement, Festival Director Mary Hickson says: "This is the biggest SFSH to date - we are really pushing the boat out this year. We have one more piece of information to come later this month that will connect everything. You'll see special guests listed on many events, we plan to share these details with you soon.
"Working with The Abbey is a huge deal for the festival, we're thrilled to be working with them to bring Enda and his team back to Cork for the week to workshop ‘Untitled Song Cycle’ and share their work in progress with an audience. The final work will be produced for The Abbey Theatre at a later date.
"Presenting the Irish Premiere of ‘All of This Unreal Time’ in our home town of Cork is very important for Cillian and I. Add our incredible director, Aoife McArdle to this and we have a lot to celebrate together on Irish soil."
The announcements join a stacked festival line-up, including major independent music artists like Feist, Wilco and supergroup Bonny Light Horseman; Ye Vagabonds' Lighthouse Constellations residency, including Anna B Savage & Brìghde Chaimbeul, Cormac Begley, Crash Ensemble and more; and experiences like Teac Damsa’s How to Be a Dancer, Luke Murphy’s Volcano, and much more besides.'

SUMMER SOLSTICE: WHAT IS IT AND WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?
The sultry, hazy feeling of it has been strong in the air for the past two weeks — that disconcerting feeling of assuming that it’s only 3pm only to find that it’s time for you to be winding down for bed, if not already sleeping. That’s the Summer Solstice Effect — the long, balmy evenings have a way of tricking you into thinking you have much more time than you actually do.
You’ve probably also seen the witchier, more occult-inclined people in your life or on your radar getting quite excited about it being round the corner. But why — what is it? The Summer Solstice is defined as the day of the calendar year with the longest day and the shortest night (its twin is the Winter Solstice, with the longest night and shortest day). It’s also the day of the year that marks the astronomical start of summer: of holidays, and sun, and long days spent with those you love. Plenty of cultures actually celebrate the day as Midsummer, as it usually will have been warm and lighter for a month or so up to this point. This year (2022) Solstice falls on Tuesday the 21st of June, with the exact time it starts and ends depending on where in the Northern Hemisphere you are.
Tumblr media
Traditionally, people all over the world observe this day by flocking to sites of spiritual significance and power including Stonehenge, Arthur’s Seat, and Svalbard. There’s even a Midnight Sun Baseball Game in Alaska that spans the entire Solstice sunset! The urge to commune makes complete sense, as it’s the most sunlight we get in a 24-hour period all year.
Tumblr media
The peak of the Sun’s fiery energy powers us up, providing us with the shining energy we need for the rest of the year as the nights get incrementally longer and we restart the cycle towards Winter Solstice. It also boosts any magical or occult workings done on this day so if that’s your wheelhouse, read ahead to discover ways to boost your spiritual development.
Ways to Celebrate
Fire: This is an obvious one because it’s a Sun festival: this could mean bonfires, candle magic, or fireworks. Maybe you burn in effigy something that you want to banish for the rest of the year; maybe you can set something on fire on your altar as an offering. Please remember to always handle fire and fireworks with incredible care and the appropriate protective gear, and to never let children go near them.
Tumblr media
Water: watching the sun be swallowed up by the horizon is even more magical when it happens over a body of water. Wild swimming groups all over the world hold special events; I myself celebrated Summer Solstice 2021 by walking into the North Sea and letting the ocean take all of my worries into her watery grasp. As always, let someone know where you’re going or go with a group, and never underestimate wild waters or overestimate your own abilities — there’s no shame in using floaties!
Tumblr media
Earth: There are some herbs that are more potent when picked at a particular time or date, and so it is with Summer Solstice. Herbs and plants that are in season and appropriate for this time of year include: St John’s wort (so named after the saint of the same name, whose feast day falls on Solstice), lavender, chamomile, strawberries, and roses. There are lots of guides on how to incorporate these plants into your celebrations, with some good resources being The Old Farmer’s Almanac and The Outdoor Apothecary.
Tumblr media
Air: Summer Solstice also falls on International Yoga Day this year, with the theme for 2022 being “Yoga For Humanity”. A series of sun salutations would be wonderfully appropriate – honouring the Sun’s power as well as drawing down its energy into you and everything you touch. Honouring your boundaries and limits is also a way of celebrating Solstice, so don’t overstretch yourself and if necessary, consult a doctor or healthcare professional.
Tumblr media
However you celebrate this year, I hope it brings many blessings upon your house!
