These beautiful streets create an ideal place to stroll as you take in the diverse culture and lifestyle of a destination.

Every street that ranges from avenues to unique promenades has a lovely story to tell.
If you visit them, don’t forget to click some wow-worthy pictures and drop us a line in the comments below.
So, what are the world’s most beautiful streets? Let’s find out in no particular order.

This stunning location in Austria’s Lake Hallstatt’s western shore in the mountainous region of Salzkammergut.
You’ll feel like you’ve stepped back in time when you walk through the streets of this charming village. The streets look like they belong in a fairy tale when the sun shines through and like a winter wonderland when it snows.
The cute little houses pieced together one after another, side by side, are also one reason it is one of the world’s most beautiful streets.
Cherry Blossom Avenue – Germany
Tumblr media
No list of the world’s most beautiful streets would not be complete without Bonn’s famous Cherry Blossom Avenue.
Standing in a picturesque enclosure, this delightful street is the ideal place to take a long stroll with your loved one.
Cherry Blossom Avenue livens up more with the hum and the buzz of daily life and delectable food stalls, especially during the annual Kirschblutenfest.
Mykonos Town – Greece
Tumblr media
Mykonos, apart from being amongst the most romantic places for honeymooners, is also one of the most beautiful places in the world to visit.
A gorgeous little street with bright whitewashed houses and contrasting blue railings, and flourishing greenery around them. The narrow cobblestone lanes between the houses create a classic look around the whole neighbourhood.
Chefchaouen – Morocco
Tumblr media
If you should visit Morocco, don’t forget to visit Chefchaouen, located in the Rif mountains.
Like the whitewashed houses in Mykonos, Chefchaouen is famous for its signature blue walls, which implies spirituality and handicrafts, but most importantly for its artistically beautiful streets.
Each house on the street displays multi-coloured plant pots near the door, adding to the attractiveness of the already beautiful street.
Jacaranda – Pretoria, South Africa
Tumblr media
This is another one of the world’s most beautiful streets. Covered with blooming Jacaranda trees found in every corner, it looks nothing less than a gorgeous fairy-tale land.
With purple branches hanging over the streets, a stroll through this path will be nothing but an unforgettable one.

Jinli Street – Chengdu, China

The Philosopher’s Path – Kyoto
Tumblr media
The Philosopher’s Path, known in Japan as, Tetsugaku no Michi, is a narrow stone path near a canal that flows in Kyoto. While the Cherry-blossom trees that surround the street burst with colour, it does not have any houses.
The pink and white cherry blossom tree-line up on the street make it a perfect paradise for cherry blossom viewing, plus for enjoying the calmness.

(read on ao3)
Yuuri’s favorite color is blue.
It’s not exactly a challenge to figure it out.
It’s the color of his glasses, the case he tucks them into when he steps onto the ice, the color of Yuuri’s poodle phone case. Viktor tries not to smile when he turns it over in his hands, watching Yuuri as he skates around the rink-- once, twice, a slightly faster, more anxious third time. Even the jacket on the chair beside him is blue, and although his warm up jacket looks gray in the lights overhead, Viktor knows its blue.
All of it is blue.
The music Yuuri skates to is blue-- it always has been, and Viktor is sure it always will be.
After Sochi he had taken every free moment of his time to watch Yuuri’s practice videos. He was one of the few skaters who didn’t squander practice tapes and progress under lock and key. Every two weeks or so, another video either practice or tutorial would surface, Yuuri in blue skating to blue music.
Most of them were from Instagram, small snippets of Yuuri at a distance as he threw himself around on the ice, both a marionette and the puppeteer.
The music was always him in a strange way. Soft in a way that ached, dreamlike with a bitter edge, cold like the ice he skated on. When the tone shifted, so did Yuuri, and with each season, Yuuri’s tone became less saturated, less him and more of what others thought he was and expected him to be.
Those were his cracks.
He hated admitting even to himself that he had taken notes on Yuuri’s cracks, on his struggles and fears. It felt predatory, looking at Yuuri like a coach, like a piece of art from afar worthy of his commentary.
Viktor thought back to how Yakov had observed him for a full two years before he decided Viktor was worth his time. He thought about how he had showed off a quad salchow in juniors, perfectly placed in front of Yakov. He thought of how Yakov knew Viktor’s fears before he knew them, how the man would check in on him under the pretense of making sure he was still alive.
Yakov had seen his loneliness, just as Viktor had seen Yuuri’s anxiety.
Yuuri’s cracks were something to be utilized, much like Viktor’s own. He bled from them, the blue he was afraid to release, but released through self-sabotage and deprecation.
It was his passion, oozing onto the ice with every fall, every shy teary-eyed interview, promising to do better next time. Viktor could see the pain in the way Yuuri talked to cameras, the way he looked at the judges without meeting their eyes, how he always seemed to be just in the corner of every video, every photo.
The blue that leaked out of him was deep and rich, it was beauty misplaced, opportunity and potential not yet discovered. Viktor wanted nothing more than to drown in it.
He wants Yuuri to drown the world in it, to coat the world with such beauty and grace, to saturate the world with his talent through the story he tells with every movement, ever performance, program, and season.
Instead, Yuuri covers himself, creating an image of himself so distorted that it’s oppressive. The way Yuuri skates, wants to skate, the way he is, and the way people want him to be is such an astounding clash of electric blue costumes and evening blue smiles that Viktor has to take a deep breath. Yuuri is using the ugliest shade of powder blue paint to cover up what could be a record-breaking view.
Viktor doesn’t have a chance to tell him, or to help him peel it all away like the old wallpaper in Yakov’s dining room. The video the triplets release does that instead and it takes Viktor’s aching with it.
Even without Yuuri’s atrocious costumes,  the overwhelming contrast in who Yuuri is on ice, who he is on a pole, and who he is at home is almost enough to send Viktor back to St. Petersburg, Aeroloft delays and all.
But Yuuri’s blue returns to him in pieces, in small ever-evolving glimmers behind a mask of self-hatred and questioning.
It’s almost like when he was thirteen, sitting at the kitchen table with his reading assignment in front of him. The house was always quiet, Lilia and Yakov in separate rooms giving Viktor the time and silence to focus, though not on school work. He would watch the prism Lilia had dangling over the window above the sink, he would watch it soak in the sunlight, spinning and never casting the same colorful shade again.
It’s in the way Yuuri watches him stake in Hasetsu, the way he counts the beats of Stammi Vicino on the side of the boards without realizing it. It’s in Yuuri’s hesitancy, how simply he can skate compulsory figures, the gentle pause in his voice when he thinks over what he’s going to say. It’s a second, sometimes three, where Yuuri places his determination ahead of his fears.
It’s only when Yuuri says that eros makes him think of katsudon that Viktor realizes he isn’t even aware of his own bleeding.
He stays up that night, wondering just how dense Yuuri must be, but then he remembers the banquet. Yuuri had been so blue, reflecting every facet of himself like the prism over Lilia’s kitchen sink.
It’s when he’s incredibly late to Yuuri and Yurio’s practices that he knows he’s going to make Yuuri aware in some way, and at the same time, he’s going to prove to Yurio he, too, has cracks.
He does. Just not as he had planned.
Yurio disintegrates on the ice during Agape. Viktor can see it in the way his back stiffens, how his arms move through the stilted poses of ballet. He’s breaking his own heart, none of his movements are his. Instead, they belong to Yakov, Lilia, and whoever else has helped shape Yuri into the Ice Tiger of Russia.
Yuuri doesn’t even have to take his skate guards off to lose himself.
It’s like watching an avalanche how Yuuri’s fingers twitch at his sides when he watches Yuri. He doesn’t know where to put his arms, if he should have them at his sides or across his chest. Viktor wants to solve it for him by taking his hands and holding them, but instead he watches Yuuri when the anxiety begins to crush him.
Yuuri’s hands are in his hair, pulling at it, he’s looking down and knowing, thinking, feeling that he’s next. His resolve, all of the distance he’s put between himself and Viktor, it’s all still there between them when Viktor moves in front of him, wanting nothing more than to touch him. Viktor wonders if any of it is cracking, if he’s breaking through to Yuuri’s true self when Yuuri looks up at him on the verge of tears.
“Yuuri, it’s your turn.”
Yuuri is still struggling to get out of his own head, to surface out of blue that’s hidden underneath.
Eros Yuuri, another mask he’s decided to hide behind, comes forward. “I’m going to become a super, tasty pork cutlet bowl, so please watch me!”
That fraction, that small minuscule piece, of Yuuri, cutting through the mask, is enough to make Viktor forget to breathe. The distance between them, it all vanishes when Yuuri holds him close, as though Viktor is the one bleeding.
“Promise!” Yuuri begs, although it is in no way a question.
Part of Viktor, the ghost of the competitor, wants to get Yuuri on the ice as soon as possible, he wants to remove the crowd, stand by the gate, and watch as Yuuri Katsuki releases all that he’s held back.
“Of course. I love pork cutlet bowls.”
And somehow, in the music, Viktor finds more blue.
Eros becomes the paleness of Hasetsu’s sky, the way it looks through budding springtime trees. Oddly, it’s homesickness, but not for Russia, it’s for a place Viktor has never been before. Later, he knows that it’s the way Yuuri wakes up the morning, stretching his cold feet against Viktor’s legs before he rolls over and falls back to sleep without setting another alarm. It’s how the trees along the Japanese hillside turn dark when a storm approaches, looking almost blue. It’s how the calm ocean waves turn dark with strength.
Eros is still a mask, but truer to Yuuri’s blue.
In another way, Eros is everything Yuuri is capable of, but doesn’t want to be. It’s the dark blue of Japan’s olympic team jackets, the cold comfort of landing a quad flip with no one to satisfy but himself, the sensual aggression only found in sixteen flutes of champagne and the devastation of coming in sixth at the GPF.
It’s the blue of an ice skating rink, being the only person on the ice in an empty stadium. It’s the feeling of hearing his own skates, feeling the way he can dig into the surface with the toepick of his skate through the beginning of Stammi. It’s the blue that was missing from St. Petersburg, only found at the Hermitage in the softness of a gray night.
He wants to ask Yuuri what Eros really is, what it means, and where he finds it.
The mask comes off when Yuuri performs Yuuri on Ice.
Yuuri wears his blue, the comfort of stars in a winter night sky, the warmth of his smile, his eyes. It doesn’t bleed, it shines, through what he allows them to see.
He lets them see the gentle start of his career-- the bee program he performed when he was eight, the middle school photo that his mother keeps on the counter in the kitchen beside a photo of Yuuri’s college graduation. It’s his evolution, his falls, his dreams, everything that he has always been.
The blue that Yuuri skates is soft, it’s the warmth of his smile when Yuuko teases them over their warm-up music, it’s the small blue flowers at Yuu-topia, the way Yuuri flops back on his bed, his arms spread out, just before someone calls him for something.
Viktor can see Yuuri’s quiet reflections in the way he jumps, as though compulsory figures have brought this out in him.
He’s beautiful, he’s himself, and nothing else, and that, is what’s captivating.
When he skates, Viktor can’t even find himself to care about Yuuri’s fingers, touching the ice, and he knows he should. He knows that Yakov would’ve stopped him, would’ve sent him back to the start of his program.
This is the Yuuri Viktor had fallen so in love with. The pieces, every single one, they all come together, and the program, even the buzz Yuuri feels afterward, it leaves him breathless. With Barcelona, it’s almost like Yuuri has left it behind.
He knows better than to think that. Viktor knows that Yuuri still has his mask, that it surfaces every time his anxiety tries to coat him in bright, fluorescent blues. Viktor takes to scheduling practice whenever Yakov and Yuri aren’t there. He locks the rink, even the observation room.
Being invited to see such vulnerability, to such truth, as a coach and a fiance, it feels like Yuuri has more than just his heart.
Viktor thinks of Worlds, how Yuuri will crush him and Yurio with a smile and a soft laugh.
He kicks up into a flip and follows through with the rest of his choreography-- soft three turn, think of Yuuri when he skates figures. Viktor slips out of his routine with a spin, stealing the essence of Stammi Vicino, only he doesn’t force the turns tighter. He lets himself spin out of it and crouches there, on the ice.
It’s always missing something so integral, so unexplainable and necessary that it leaves Viktor feeling discouraged.
He isn’t even aware of Yuuri’s presence until he sneezes and Viktor finds himself on his feet again, skating around the rink through the soft build of the gentle Russian waltz he has selected. Yuuri usually sits up towards the top of the rink, in the shadow of the observation box.
Viktor tries not to let the aggressive competitor inside of him take over. The feeling that comes with Yuuri and knowing that Yuuri is watching him, is enough for him to ruin the take-off of a quad flip and turn it into a messy ‘floop’.
He lands cleanly, keeps him moving, shaky, almost, and it’s enough to ruin whatever he had been trying to accomplish. He skates out of it, lazily circling around and filling the second half of the music with what Yakov would consider a waste of time and what Viktor thinks of as a time to reflect.
The music shifts to something far more melancholy and heartbreaking, a lone violin calling out to a duet, one that never follows. The orchestra swells beneath, the soft hum of winds. It reminds Viktor of Yuuri when he skates figures, a shade of icy pale blue, bordering into a hazy lilac.
“What were you thinking of?” Yuuri asks, and his voice nearly startles Viktor half to death.
The song ends and Viktor skates to the boards to stop it, but Yuuri is already there, pausing it from playing the Russian waltz again.
“The flip?”
Yuuri shakes his head, he’s smiling in a way that tells Viktor he already knows. “Before that, before you came out of your combo spin.”
“I wasn’t.” Viktor’s answer is honest, because he wasn’t thinking at all, and Yuuri frowns at that, just a little. “I was… I don’t know, feeling?”
“What were you feeling?”
Viktor lets the ice carry him back just a little. “This.” He says simply, and its too much to explain with any of the words he knows in any language. “You.” He says in a small breath of air.
Yuuri is leaning against the boards now, Eros is slipping from him, leaking to the ice and puddling somewhere at his shadow. “Me?”
“No, katsudon.” Viktor answers, and it’s impossible not to smile as he puts more distance between them. He looks at the ice and it’s hard not to think about everything that they’ve gone through, all that they’ve overcome in such a short amount of time.
The Yuuri that’s watching him is so different from the Yuuri that approached him. He’s soft and gentle, but knows when not to be. Yuuri isn’t delicate, not with him, he’s no longer the electric blue costumes and ties he had tried so desperately to hide behind. The mask of Eros Yuuri is even misplaced. The confidence, the Yuuri from Yuuri on ice, with all of his potential and ability, his boldness and charm not entirely feigned... that Yuuri is watching him.
He’s the soft blue of a forest in winter, the soft dying sun against the bright snow and bitter cold. Yuuri is the Neva River reflecting St. Petersburg’s sparkling beauty. He’s sunlight in the long winter days of darkness and darkness in the bright summer nights. He’s home, and somehow, he always has been.
Viktor has just never known to look for him.
He’s not aware that he’s fallen into figures like Yuuri does until the gentle music of his waltz disappears, replaced with Stammi Vicino. Viktor is even less aware of the fact that Yuuri is on the ice with him until he feels Yuuri take his hand and pull him through one of the careful loops he's carved into the ice with his skates.
The smile Yuuri gives him, the peace it fills him with--
all of it is blue.

[BTS/Namjoon] *Butterfly Effect*
Monthly Challenge August explanation | MC August Week 2 ❤️
Genre: Fluff
Summary: Your unplanned trip to Japan was completely turned around with only one little decision, that would change your life to the better.
Word count: 1228
Written by: Admin Arin
Author’s note: Ah, this one was a bit of a challenge! I really hope I captured the feeling of the moodboard well. The moodboard comes from a good friend of mine, and she also requested it to be about a first-time meeting with Namjoon. I am a bit worried if I portrayed his character well - because I am not an Army, I don’t know him very well. But I wanted to take on this challenge, and I really hope she likes it!
Here’s the moodboard the story is based on!

Ambling through a narrow, but very friendly looking alley, a warm and happy feeling filled up your whole body and mind. Everywhere you looked you saw beautiful little stores with all sorts of aesthetically pleasing decorations, trees with beautiful and pastel pink colored cherr blossoms and all sorts of intricately hand drawn menu signs. It has been five days until you came to this little village in the outskirts of Tokyo prefecture. You still couldn’t believe that you were finally able to realize a longtime dream of yours: travelling alone to Japan. While buying the plane ticket spontaneously one cold late winter night you just finished having another mental breakdown during an all-nighter you had to pull because of the enormous amount of work you had. You always wanted to just get away from it all, just travel all alone. Since you loved Japan, you decided to combine those two into your perfect little vacation to forget about your stressful life and responsibilities – at least for a short time.
You were looking for a little café to spend your afternoon in, probably reading, but mostly enjoying one or two coffees. Wanting to find one of those incredibly aesthetic looking ones, you went around the smaller allies keeping an eye on the windows of the countless cafés.
Once you found one with some really nice fancy interior and Instagram-worthy decorations, you checked out their little menu sign in front of the entrance. The café was called “The Butterfly Effect”. You couldn’t help but smile at the coincidence. On the plane ride to Japan you just read an article about exactly that phenomenon. While entering the cabin of the plane you took the only magazine left in your language with you, and read the only article that piqued your interest, learning about the butterfly effect. Basically, the effect describes the uncertainty, how big the impact of tiny changes in starting conditions on an outcome can be. Meaning that if you change something really small in your life, it could have massive impact on your future. Since you read the article, thoughts about it kept lingering in your mind. What if you changed this particular habit? What if you did this particular thing? What if you didn’t do that particular thing? What would have changed? If you changed something about you right now, would it maybe drastically change your future?
You looked into the window of the café again, noticing that there was no soul inside, except for one barista. Since you were quite shy, you didn’t like the idea of being the only customer at all. You contemplated searching for another one, being a bit sad because the interior design was just so pretty. Suddenly, another thought crossed your mind. Maybe that little decision, to just go in, could have more of an impact than you thought? You took a deep breath and entered the café, making the bells connected to the door chime.
Five minutes later you were happily sitting at a little table with an incredibly delicious looking iced latte macchiato. You were very satisfied with yourself and the fact that you managed to overcome your shyness and got this amazing coffee as a reward. As soon as you started slurping your sweet deliciousness, you heard the same chime from before. A young man entered, and he instantly caught your attention. His clothing style was incredible, and his face was even more incredible. You caught yourself staring at him and, a little embarrassed, you quickly pulled away your gaze and locked it onto the newspaper at your table. You heard him order and sitting down at the table behind you. Good, then you wouldn’t get another chance to stare.
Trying your best to just ignore the fact that one of the most handsome men you have ever seen is sitting right behind you, you started reading your book while occasionally sipping on your macchiato. The book soon absorbed all your attention, and you managed to forget everything around you – until you heard a loud clatter right in front of you, giving you almost a heart attack.
“I’m so sorry! Did anything spill on you?”, someone asked in an incredibly beautiful, soothing deep voice. Of course, it was the guy you finally forgot about. You looked up in a reflex, just to look directly into his deep brown eyes. Even though he had a very concerned look on his face, his eyes sparkled. You felt yourself getting lost in these purely beautiful eyes, but you managed to snap out of it and stuttered: “N-no, everything a-alright!”
Just then you realized that some of your coffee had been spilt on the Japan guide book you had lying on your table to plan the next day of your trip. You wanted to use the sleeve of your shirt to wipe the little droplets away, but the guy suddenly stopped your movement with his hand, quickly snatched a napkin from the table beside you and wiped your guide book clean. “I’m really sorry, it’s dry now, and it seems like nothing seeped into the pages.”, he said calmly, while you were mesmerized by his soft looking hands. “Oh, I have the same guide book. Is this your first time in Japan?”
A little startled at the sudden question it took you a few seconds to answer. “Ah yeah, I’ve never been here before. It was my dream to come to Japan one day”, you said, with a shy smile forming. “I didn’t really plan anything beforehand though, I just wanted to come here without any sort of structured plan, so I can escape stress, and stuff like that”
“What a coincidence!”, he exclaimed with a surprised but also happy sounding tone in his voice. “I come to Japan almost every year for exactly that reason.” You looked up to him, just to find your gaze fixed onto his sparkly eyes again. “Do you maybe want to go around together for a bit? I could show you my favorite places in this area!”
You couldn’t believe that you just got invited for a walk through this beautiful city with an incredibly handsome man. Was this reality? Or a dream? “Uh, yes! I would love to!”, you said, using all the courage you had. “But uh … what’s your name?”
“Oh!” His faint smile, he had on his lips for the entire conversation, turned into an even broader, even more beautiful smile. “I forgot to introduce myself, sorry. My name is Namjoon. Would you also tell me yours?”
While telling him your name and packing up your stuff to go out with Namjoon together, a thought crossed your mind again. If you hadn’t mustered up the courage to go into exactly this café, you would not be going around in this beautiful city in your favorite country with this incredibly handsome young man. You also didn’t have any idea at that time, that this little walk during your vacation would turn into one of the most amazing times you have ever experienced, having found a companion for your future life, a cure for all your worries, a remedy for your soul, a hand to hold onto. You would have never thought your life could be turned around with such a little decision – that you would ever experience the butterfly effect yourself.

Kismet (Chapter 10): A BTS Jin imagines fanfic
Tumblr media
First ever fanfic. Contains fluff and some smut. Please read sequentially as it is a long story arc. Please provide feedback! My IG is btskismet.
1330. The shinkansen and train rides for 6 hours wore them out that much to make them sink into the bed at Hotel Sonia Otaru that afternoon. They both gave out a large sigh when they lay on top of the bed. The trip was beautiful and scenic from Aomori to Otaru, especially when the train was close to the seashore and the sea stretched out from the side of the train before the port city of Otaru came into view.
However, it was slightly stressful from Sapporo to Otaru. They didn't expect that there would be many people at Sapporo station, given that it was a Tuesday morning but there seemed to be a rush of people leaving to get to the airport.
Seokjin turned to her and started to move his hands across her body. She looked at him curiously. "Hmmm... ", she sighed. She gave him a soft peck on the nose when he moved up to face her. "I propose we stay in for now. This room looks so stately and refined and..." She was at a loss on the next word to describe the room.
"French?", Seokjin said as he lied flat on his back beside her, looking at the ceiling with her and noticing the gold chandelier she was looking at.
She smiled and said, "I didn't want to come off as too obvious but yes, French. Young, modern French. Not old, stuffy French."
"Neoneun wanjeon gwiyeowo!", she heard Seokjin say to her. It took her a couple of seconds to realize that she didn't get the translation to what he said and blurted out to him what did you say in English.
Seokjin's face looked confused and he realized too that he didn't get the translation. They both took their earpieces off and placed them on the bedside table as she took out the translator device and charged it.
They lied down again in the bed in silence. She ran through her head how important that device was to them. At any given time it had to be fully charged, they would have 30 minutes of silence together. This usually happened during the shinkansen trips wherein she would charge it and they would be asleep or using their phones. But she forgot to do so on their ride from Aomori to Otaru as they were constantly chatting about the places they would visit. Since they had 3 days to spare before they would separate, they discussed what they each wanted to do and what they can do together.
It felt a little awkward not saying anything as she knew they both depended on the translator. She was waiting for Seokjin to get his phone to play his games or listen to music but he didn't. Instead, he slid his arm under her head and cuddled her.
"I love you.", he said in English.
She knew that's how she felt about him too but she was a little scared to say it. What will happen on their last day? She would have to go back home and he would have to go back to SoKor. It made her really emotional thinking about it.
"I love you too, Seokjin. I'm scared to lose you though.", she admitted. Tears started trickling down her cheeks.
His fingers wiped away her tears. "Don't cry. I am here.", he said.
Seokjin then gave her a soft kiss. She was trying her best not to think of their last day. They were having so much fun together. Their travels were difficult but it showed them that they can rely on each other. Trips like these usually test couples to see if they could get along throughout the trip or tick each other off. The fact they were still smiling and alive proved to her they could go through even longer trips and more.
She experienced being with the real Seokjin: a crazy, goofy man who was also intense and sometimes stubborn and impatient yet nurturing and dependable. She thought he could do no wrong but his impatience and somewhat commanding aura, especially when he wanted something, irritated her sometimes.
He was so different from how he is onstage and she felt honored to know him this well. Then again, he felt somewhat familiar to her too so her adjustment to him wasn't so difficult.
He stopped kissing her to look at her. "No cry anymore, ok?", he said. She nodded and smiled at him. He smiled and closed his eyes and went back to kissing her.
In the number of times he kissed her, he was either so intense or passionate. But today, he was gentle with her.
He started making out with her on the bed, kissing her softly and breaking off from the kiss to lightly peck her eyelids, her forehead and neck. She felt a wave of calmness as he started to hug her tighter and continued to slowly kiss her lips and bury his face on her neck and cheek.
Seokjin took a deep whiff of her scent and said, "I will not forget...", and continued to bury his face onto her neck and shoulder.
"Me too...", she whispered, bringing him closer to her, as she etched into her memory that moment of their embrace.
~~~~~
A few travel blogs mention that it is best not to travel to Otaru in November. Otaru is known for being a picturesque city when blanketed in snow. So, the absence of snow makes the town pretty but not as Instagram worthy as how it would be if it was winter.
This was one of the reasons she chose this place as the destination for their trip instead of Sapporo. People would still flock to the city if they were interested to look at the quaint, historical buildings around but the snow is the biggest draw. Though Otaru would be chilly during Autumn, it may snow or not. As expected, there were less crowds today which allowed Seokjin and her to walk with ease and without masks.
She was happy that Seokjin was interested to see most of the architecture and was eager to visit the music box museum. She had to bargain this destination initially with him but after he saw the photos, he was sold. The Mt. Tengu ropeway is still a place they had to discuss about if they have time to go there the next day. He also had to decide if they would still go fishing at Shakotan sea on their last day or just go through the beer and sake tasting. JHope and their manager would be flying in to Sapporo in the afternoon so he wasn't sure if it was best to meet them right away when they arrive or not. Either way, Seokjin had to decide soon so they could book the fishing trip if ever.
They rented a car this time so they could go to places faster. Since Seokjin had a license, he also thought it would be the best time for him to drive without any of the members scolding him. "Yoongi thinks I'm too brazen as a driver. Not really paying attention to the road."
"I think I remember this. He was scolding you when you were driving around Malta for the missions.", she said.
He started laughing hard and nodded. "Ahh, Yoongi was nervous but he was trying to act cool about it. He couldn't complain so much on camera."
As they were approaching the car, Seokjin asked, "You also wanted to visit that temple, right?"
"Shrine and temple. Please?", she said sweetly. She was referring to the Suitengu shrine that had 100 steps to the top with a beautiful view of the sea and the Tenjoji temple, which was close to Sakamichi shopping street.
"Let's choose one. Honestly, I'm not too keen about the 100 steps to that shrine. It'll tire us out too much!", Seokjin exclaimed.
She said a soft aawww ok as a response. "What is it with you and these temples? You really like going to them a lot.", he asked as he was starting the car.
"Well, during my solo trip to Kyoto, I went to almost all the shrines and temples I could visit and prayed. I'm not really a religious person though I'm Catholic. But I prayed and wished for the same thing in each of these shrines and temples and my wish came true. Since then, I try to visit as many as I can. Plus, I like how soothing it is to go to one and just unload all your negativity there because you feel calmer after."
Seokjin was nodding as she shared, making sure to follow the GPS on his phone to the Otaru Shukutsu Panorama Observation Deck. "Ok, but your last visit wasn't so peaceful."
"Yes. I'd like to treat that as an exception. I hope we can leave at that.", she said quietly, not really wanting to discuss it further.
Seokjin stopped at a red light and looked at her. He reached out for her hand and squeezed it before driving forward when the light turned green.
~~~~~
The Otaru Observation Deck is 70 meters above sea level and has a beautiful view of the Sea of Japan. Hotels Neuschloss is right brside the deck and it was one of the hotels she was eyeing for their trip. Unfortunately, it was fully booked for their dates. So, a trip to the deck was the closest thing to do to enjoy the view.
The hotel, the Otaru Aquarium and lighthouse could be seen on the deck but the seaview is the reason people go up there. It stretched out as far as the eye can see and its blue water had a similar color as the blue sky, as if they were connected as a seamless piece of blue cloth.
Seokjin placed his arm on her shoulders and pulled her close. They stood on the deck, admiring the sight silently, listening to the waves, the sounds of people from afar and the birds around the cliff.
She looked at him and saw his eyes were closed, breathing in the salty, fresh air. "I'm glad you're here with me to see this.", she said. "I was close to doing this alone but I'm happy I'm not."
He looked at her and smiled, "I wouldn't even be here if I didn't meet you. I wouldn't even think of doing this. You made me experience a lot of things these past few days. I'm grateful."
"Didn't you ever travel a lot before being a part of BTS?", she asked.
"Well, when I studied in Australia, I got to visit a couple of places. Also a few areas in my country. I travelled with my Dad to other countries during his business trips but I was younger then so I don't remember everything. But the most amount of travelling I've done that I really remember is with BTS.", he shared. "I like staying at home, I guess. But it's great to travel without so many people telling you where to go and what to do. I like it that you asked me what I want in this trip and we did them. It felt... refreshing."
She smiled. "I could put up my own travel agency then. So glad that you are a satisfied customer."
He laughed and hugged her. It was heartwarming to know he was enjoying the trip. She worried about the commute, the room and everything else. Knowing he would remember this as a happy vacation made her feel content.
"Ok, so I am getting really hungry . Where are we going to get some food?", Seokjin asked, rubbing his tummy.
She smiled slyly and said, "Are you up for some all-you-can-eat buffet? There's a buffet restaurant near the canal that serves lobster."
Seokjin's eyes grew wide and he took her hand to walk her back to the car. She was laughing all the way as he dragged her quickly and kept asking her to hurry.

Modern grown chrysanthemums are showier than their untamed relatives. The plant heads occur in numerous forms, and can be daisy-like or decorative, just like pompons or control keys. This genus is made up of many hybrids in addition to thousands of cultivars produced for horticultural purposes. In addition to the traditional yellowish, other colors are offered, such as white, crimson, and red. The most important hybrid is Chrysanthemum × morifolium (syn. C. × grandiflorum), derived primarily through C. indicum, and also involving other types.

Chrysanthemums are divided into two basic groupings, garden hardy as well as exhibition. Garden robust mums are fresh perennials capable of wintering in most northern latitudes. Exhibition varieties are not usually as tough. Garden hardies are generally defined by their own ability to produce a great deal of small blooms using little if any mechanical guidance, such as staking, as well as withstanding wind and also rain. Exhibition kinds, though, require staking, overwintering in a fairly dry, cool environment, and sometimes the addition of night lights.
The exhibit varieties can be used to create many amazing herb forms, such as substantial disbudded blooms, squirt forms, and many creatively trained forms, like thousand-bloom, standard (trees), fans, hanging hampers, topiary, bonsai, as well as cascades.
Chrysanthemum plants are divided into tough luck different bloom varieties by the US National Chrysanthemum Society, Inc., which is in keeping with often the international classification method. The bloom types are defined furthermore in which the ray and disk florets usually are arranged. The disk florets are located in the center of the blossom head, and the kitchen tools florets are on typically the perimeter. The beam florets are considered imperfect flowers, as they solely possess the female reproductive : organs, while the disk florets are considered best flowers, as they have both male and female reproductive organs.
Irregular incurves are selectively bred to produce a giant crown called an ogiku. The disk florets are usually concealed in levels of curving kitchen tools florets that hang down to create a ‘skirt’. Regular incurves are similar, but usually along with smaller blooms and also a dense, globular application form. Intermediate incurve flowers may have broader florets and a less densely flowered head.
From the reflex form, all drives florets are invisible and the ray florets reflex outwards to generate a mop-like appearance. Typically the decorative form is just like reflex blooms, even so the ray florets normally do not radiate at greater 90° angle to the stem.
The aigrette form is fully double, of modest size, and very globular in form. Sole and semidouble blooms have exposed hard drive florets and one for you to seven rows of kitchen tools florets. In the anemone form, the disk florets are prominent, generally raised and overshadowing the ray florets. The spoon-form hard drive florets are obvious and the long, tubular ray florets are usually spatulate. In the spider form, the disk florets are concealed, and the ray florets tend to be tube-like with addicted or barbed ends, hanging loosely round the stem. In the comb and thistle wide variety, the disk florets could possibly be visible.
In Japan, a form of bonsai chrysanthemum was developed over the centuries. The cultivated blossom has a lifespan around 5 years and can be kept in smaller size. Another method is to use pieces of inactive wood and the flower grows over the backside along the wood to give the illusion from the front that the miniature shrub blooms.

New Post has been published on http://www.makaobora.co.ke/these-rooftop-restaurants-will-take-your-breath-away/
These rooftop restaurants will take your breath away
These restaurants around the world offer wonderful  aerial views that are instagram worthy and perfect for impressing that special someone.
1 Rooftop Sunset Bar at Double-Six, Bali
With its 1700 square meters it, the Sunset Bar on top of Double-Six Seminyak is the largest rooftop bar Bali has to offer. And really living up to its name, the views you get over the Indian Ocean, especially around sunset, is out of this world. Best enjoyed from one of the luxurious floating lounge-pods at the edge of the terrace, with the surrounding water blending the rooftop and ocean together. From the bar and kitchen, you can order super tasty bar bites along with more filling dinner plates in a mix of local and international flavors. There is also a large set of creative and well-crafted signature cocktails and good choices of wine, beer and spirits. Perfect for a romantic dinner or date.
2 Attitude Rooftop at Avani Bangkok
Attitude is a fantastic rooftop restaurant with a magnificent view over the city and river. A super stylish end elegant roof terrace with a great atmosphere and nice service. Seating both inside and outside, and with the same amazing views as from the Avani+ Riverside pool terrace. Here you can enjoy asian tapas and creative and tasteful cocktails made by the bar mixologists. All this with live DJs raising the atmosphere even more. The tapas-style menu innovated from a show-kitchen is a culinary journey for the senses. Perfect for a date or romantic night out.
3 Tomo, Dubai
Tomo is a Japanese rooftop restaurant that oozes of quality. Located at the 17th floor of the superb five-star Raffles Hotel in the older part of Dubai, this is the place to catch the most amazing views of the “new” skyline. And ‘amazing’ is almost an understatement, if you manage to catch a sunset from here you are in for a treat of a lifetime. And the quality of views continues in food and drinks, with Tomo Dubai serving some of Dubai’s best Japanese food, prepared by the admittedly talented chef Chitoshi Takahashi. Choose between a large selection of sushi dishes, Waguy Beef and rice/noodle dishes. The rooftop also has a Japanese touch, serving a wide variety of Sake and Shochu, along with sophisticated cocktails. You can’t find a better place for a romantic dinner than this.
4. SE-STO on Arno Florence
Perched on top of the five-star luxury hotel The Westin Excelsior, SE•STO on Arno is both a romantic rooftop bar and an excellent rooftop restaurant. Located (as the name suggests) on the banks of river Arno, with a magical view over Florence and its surroundings. The roof terrace consists of an indoor, ‘glass-hut’ restaurant and two terraces, one dedicated to the restaurant and one to the bar. The restaurant serves both lunch and dinner, described as ‘Tuscan cuisine with a touch innovation’, made by Executive Chef and his team. Romantic and classy at the same time! At the rooftop bar you can enjoy signature and old-style cocktails, exclusive wines and a great aperitif.
5. Social Club Restaurant & Rooftop Bar, Vietnam
On the top floors of the superb Hotel Des Arts Saigon Mgallery Collection you find the beautiful Social Club Restaurant & Bar. From the indoor 23rd level restaurant, serving gourmet European cuisine, a couple of stairs leads up to the 24th floor rooftop bar and terrace, offering breathtaking views of the Saigon skyline. The rooftop terrace has a unique and luxurious setting, with lots of wooden details, in both lounge sofas and bar, along with wicker chair bar stools, creating the feeling of a very natural and clean oasis right in the buzzing city. Both the bar and restaurant are ideal for a romantic date. Just make sure to book your table in advance.
6. Horizon Grill, Kuala Lumpur
At the new and luxurious Banyan Tree in Kuala Lumpur you’ll find one of the best rooftop restaurants in Asia. Horizon Grill, as it’s called, offers a stylish restaurant experience on the 58th floor. With dining both indoors and al fresco on the lovely rooftop terrace, the views over KL are amazing. Serving hearty á la carte breakfasts, executive lunches and a gourmet dinner menu with fresh seafood and premium steaks, the most cosy and romantic time to visit is for a dinner. Make sure to book your table in advance to get a good seat. After dinner you can also head up to the fantastic Vertigo rooftop bar one floor above and enjoy some fine mixologist cocktails.
7. Spire 73, LA
Spire 73 rooftop bar and lounge is perched on the 73rd floor on top of the fabulous hotel called InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown. This is the highest rooftop bar in the Western Hemisphere, and one of the highest in the world. The roof terrace offers spectacular views over the entire city. All the way from Hollywood to the beaches. Up here you can find fire pits that creates a cozy and romantic feeling among the array of different and stylish seating options. Everything from comfy lounge sofas, to classic bar stools and chairs right by the edge of the terrace. They don’t serve an á la carte dinner, but bar bites and small dishes can be ordered. Great rooftop if you’d like to impress on your date!
8. Press Lounge, NY
One of the best roof terraces in New York, located at the Kimpton Ink48 Hotel. Known for their amazing service and quality in everything, along with spectacular views over both Hudson River and the mighty Manhattan skyline. A menu with quality over quantity, including a set of well-crafted cocktails, beer on both bottle and draught, wine and bubbles by the glass and a few bar bites and snacks. Not a full dinner. But super luxurious and romantic still. Perfect place for both after work or date, while soaking in views of the Big Apple, enjoying the sophisticated but vibrant atmosphere. Just make sure to be in good time, as the main terrace does not take reservation. You can however reserve the private Garden Table.
9. Cafe de l’Homme, Paris
Does it get more romantic than panoramic views over the Eiffel Tower? Most likely not, and one of the very best places to get this is at the Café de l’Homme. Located inside the Palais de Chaillot, the beautiful terrace comes with lovely vistas of Trocadéro Gardens and the Champ de Mars as well. Here you get a fine-dining cuisine, a great selection of wines and mixology cocktails of the highest standard. Luxurious and sophisticated, yet cosy and welcoming at the same time, Café de l’Homme is truly a fantastic spot for a romantic dinner. And if the weather should fail for al-fresco terrace seating, there is also a part of the terrace that is a covered and very cosy Winter Garden.
10. Aroma Restaurant , Rome
Aroma Restaurant is a Michelin restaurant located at the luxurious Hotel Palazzo Manfredi, with a really nice roof terrace. From the rooftop you get a lovely close-up view of Coliseum and Rome’s historic sites. With just 28 seats it is an intimate restaurant with grandiose views. A perfect spot for a romantic Valentines date. Here you can enjoy Roman-born Chef Di Lorio’s fantastic gourmet food, both á la carte style or go for a tasting menu with the option of a sommelier picking out the perfect wine for each dish. Pricey indeed but guaranteed a memory for life.
11. TOPS at Banyan Tree
While many places claim to have the very best view of the river and Pudong skyline, we would argue that TOPS at Banyan Tree is the winner of the bunch. From this large and airy terrace, you get spectacular views of the skyline and over the river. Apart from fantastic views, TOPS also offer a stylish and sophisticated terrace with a gorgeous vibe. Sit down in one of the lounge sofas or park yourself in the large round bar and enjoy the contemporary drink menu, selection of nouveau tapas and some chill music. Perfect rooftop bar for a romantic drink or dinner.
11. Flair Restaurant & Bar , The Ritz-Carlton Shanghai, Pudong
On the 58th floor of the The Ritz-Carlton Shanghai, Pudong you’ll find Flair Rooftop Restaurant & Bar. Not only the highest rooftop restaurant in Shanghai, but in all of China. From the magnificent rooftop you get a fantastic view of Shanghai. Both a cool close up of the Pearl Tower, and being one of few rooftops on the Pudong side, some rare views of the Huangpu district. Often ranked as one of the world’s best rooftop bars. The bar offers a large set of creative and well-made signature cocktails. There is also a large food menu, serving tapas-style dishes from Japan, Vietnam, Indonesia, India, Thailand and China. Romantic and luxurious at the same time.
12. Restaurant Terrazza Danieli, Venice
The luxurious and romantic vibe starts already at the entrance of the Hotel Danieli and continues up to the rooftop and restaurant, which has a very classic Italian fine dining setting. You can enjoy lunch and dinner at the restaurant all year round, and during the warmer months out on the terrace, which then also is open for afternoon cocktails. The cuisine is Mediterranean influenced and of the very highest class. The rooftop bar has its own (extensive) menu, including fantastic mixologist cocktails, aperitive, a wide range of martini’s, premium spirits, champagne, bar bites and even some cigars.

Barre 2 Barre SG Interview Series: Jen Wong (Part II)
Snap! Snap! Snap! Ever wonder who takes all those gorgeous shots of your favourite barrerinas? Or puts together those beautifully captioned photos for our instagram posts? Or has the ability to put the team at ease in the most awkward (and sometimes difficult) poses?
This week, we interview Jen Wong - our in-house Barre 2 Barre photographer!
Read on for part 2 of our interview series and see why team Barre 2 Barre Singapore has fallen in love with this recent SMU grad!
What does wellness and being healthy mean to you?
Tumblr media
I believe wellness encompasses both the physical and mental well-being of a person.
For me, it goes beyond just eating healthily and exercising regularly. For me, it is about making the conscious effort daily to choose to be grateful (regardless of the circumstance) and always working towards becoming a better version of myself.
Being healthy is all about finding that balance rather than sticking to a strict and mundane routine. It's all about moderation.
In other words, go out there and enjoy that delicious bowl of truffle fries, or snuggle up in bed to binge watch your favourite tv series!
Share a funny story related to barre.
The first time I joined a barre class, I signed up for the bootcamp class by accident.
Needless to say, I almost fainted by the end of the class! Being a little over zealous with trying to keep up with the class, coupled by the fact that I had not been exercising regularly in months before, I think I was lucky to come out of class alive (although my legs were shaking walking down the steps of the studio).
Looking back, I am still in awe that I decided to continue coming back for classes even after that near-blackout experience.
How did you get into BarreAmped and what are your future plans for barre?
Tumblr media
I was first introduced to BarreAmped when I joined Barre 2 Barre Singapore as their marketing Intern. New to the whole idea of barre, Mylene and Jessica were the ones who encouraged me to join the classes to gain a better understanding of what the company does.
Fast forward a few months, I have come to love barre and can definitely see the effects of consistency in coming for classes. Barre has become a part of my weekly routine and I come for classes either before or after work to destress and stretch out my body.
I’m super thankful to still be a part of this barre family (that I have grown to love) as the resident photographer for the team. As for the future, who knows? Maybe getting a BarreAmped certification in a few years time? :)
What is your favorite way (aside from barre) to keep fit and find some downtime?
I love going on hikes both alone and with friends. It is such a rejuvenating feeling to be surrounded by nature and fresh air! One of the perks of staying in Bukit Timah is that there are so many nature parks around me! (Bukit Batok Nature Reserve and Botanic Gardens are my top fav spots)
On a very different note, brunching is another activity I love doing especially during weekends. It is a great way to explore new places in Singapore, catch up with friends, and of course get some Instagram-worthy shots!
I have also recently picked up calligraphy after watching YouTube videos and drawing inspiration from Pinterest. Given the intense focus needed to write, I find it allows me to momentarily forget about what may be stressing me out.
List your 3 dinner party dream guests. What would you talk about and what dish would you prepare for them?
Tumblr media
Albert Einstein - Fun fact, we both share the same birthday only several hundred years apart. I would love to catch a glimpse of his genius way of thinking and maybe get some life advice from the man himself! I would probably make pie since our birthday falls on pi day (14 March).
Matthew Gray Gubler - He plays my favourite TV character (Dr Spencer Reid) from the TV series, Criminal Minds. He is known to be just as quirky in real life as his character on the show so I guess you can never predict where the conversation will go. As for food, maybe sushi? He looks like he would like sushi! :)
Viktor Frankl - He is the author of my favourite book, Man’s Search for Meaning. I would love to understand how he eventually overcame his traumatic experience in the concentration camps and maybe learn how to see life from his perspective. I would prepare one of my comfort food - eggs with avocado on toast.
List your 3 favorite travel destinations and list 3 more that you want to travel to and why.
Tumblr media
Japan - The deliciously fresh seafood, the insanely cute packaging they come up with for everything, and the general politeness of the people there… what’s not to love about Japan? The thing I love most about Japan, however,  is how it's architecture, food, and culture are a blend of traditional and modern.
Bali - The go-to place for detoxing while exploring the waterfalls, rice terraces, and beaches that are so different from the hustle and bustle of Singapore. The cheap (yet delicious) Indo-mee and acai bowls are worth travelling there for too!
Perth - Lovely place to visit during the winter where the cool breeze makes walking everywhere so much more enjoyable. One of my favourite memories of Perth is visiting the Fremantle Prison and exploring its underground tunnels!
Three places I hope to eventually visit:
Korea - After watching so many Korean dramas and variety shows, Korea is definitely one of the top places I would love to visit. I Would love to try their street food, visit their Jimjilbang (bath houses), and take a tour of Jeju island.
India - I visited Chennai in 2009 on a school trip but unfortunately did not manage to see and do much. After my dad told me the story behind the Taj Mahal, it has been my dream to travel to New Delhi to see it for myself.
New York City - I have heard so much about NYC from my friends; the musicals, the food and just the overall atmosphere of the city! There are so many iconic places in NYC (Central Park, Times Square, etc.) that appear in movies I have grown up watching that it would be a shame to give this place a miss.

Explore These 5 Picture-Perfect Winter Destinations in Japan
Tumblr media
Japan, a country of mesmerizing beauty, enchants visitors year-round with its diverse landscapes and cultural heritage. However, during winter, Japan transforms into a wonderland of snow-draped scenery and serene atmospheres that captivate travelers seeking picture-perfect moments. Whether you're an avid photographer, a nature lover, or someone longing for a dreamy winter escape, these five destinations in Japan promise unforgettable experiences.
1. Tadami River Bridge No. 1 Viewpoint, Fukushima
Nestled in the serene Mishima Town of Fukushima Prefecture, the Tadami River Bridge No. 1 Viewpoint is an iconic gem, offering a postcard-perfect view that feels like a dream. The Tadami River meanders gracefully below, surrounded by landscapes that shift with the seasons—from vibrant autumn hues to glistening white in winter. On calm days, the arch bridge’s reflection in the river creates a mesmerizing symmetrical view.
Accessible via a short walk from Michi-no-Eki Ozekaido Mishima-juku, a roadside stop offering snacks and local crafts, this spot is a favorite among photographers and travelers alike. The bridge itself is part of the Tadami Line, a 135-kilometer railway route between Aizu-Wakamatsu Station (Fukushima) and Koide Station (Niigata), renowned for its breathtaking scenery. This serene winter wonderland is not to be missed.
For those planning a winter escape, Japan holiday packages from Dubai UAE often include Fukushima as a prime destination, offering curated experiences that highlight its scenic beauty.
2. Iiyama Kamakura Village, Nagano
Ever dreamt of dining inside a cozy igloo? Head to the Iiyama Kamakura Village in Nagano Prefecture for a truly unique experience. Against a backdrop of snow-covered mountains, this village comprises around 20 snow domes, known as “kamakura.” Inside these domes, guests can enjoy warm, hearty meals like Noroshi Nabe, a local hot pot specialty featuring Miyuki Pork, Shinshu miso, and fresh local vegetables. Vegetarian and halal options are available, catering to diverse preferences.
In addition to dining, visitors can indulge in sweet treats like roasted sweet potatoes and oshiruko (red bean soup). The kamakura are beautifully illuminated at night, adding to their charm. Open from late January to late February, the site also hosts the Kamakura Festival, featuring live music, snow games, fireworks, and hut-making activities. Advance reservations are recommended for dining, as the igloos’ availability is limited.
With several Japan holiday packages from Dubai catering to Nagano’s winter charm, this destination is a must-add to your travel bucket list.
3. Gokayama Historic Villages, Toyama
Step into a living fairy tale at the historic villages of Gokayama in Toyama Prefecture. Located in Nanto City, these UNESCO World Heritage Sites are renowned for their unique gassho-zukuri houses, whose steep, thatched roofs resemble hands pressed together in prayer. These architectural wonders are designed to withstand heavy snowfall, making Gokayama a magical sight during winter.
Explore the hamlets of Ainokura and Suganuma, where some houses offer lodging for visitors, providing the rare opportunity to stay in a centuries-old home. During the Gokayama Winter Light-up (January 26 and February 1-2 in Suganuma; February 22-23 in Ainokura), the illuminated villages create a breathtaking spectacle. Additional activities include alpine skiing, cross-country adventures, hot spring relaxation, and traditional crafts like washi paper-making.
If you’re considering Japan tour packages from Dubai, be sure to include Toyama in your itinerary to witness this enchanting winter destination.
4. Kenrokuen Garden, Ishikawa
A masterpiece of landscaping, Kenrokuen Garden in Kanazawa, Ishikawa Prefecture, is one of Japan’s Three Great Gardens. Spanning 11.4 hectares, it combines six essential attributes of a perfect garden: spaciousness, seclusion, artifice, antiquity, waterways, and panoramas. Though enchanting year-round, winter adds a special allure with the yukitsuri technique—umbrella-shaped ropes tied to pine trees to protect their branches from snow.
Visitors can stroll past serene ponds, tea houses, and pagodas, each offering stunning vistas. Highlights include the Kasumiga-ike Pond and its naturally occurring fountain. Originally a private garden for the Maeda clan, Kenrokuen opened to the public in 1874 and remains a must-visit destination for those seeking tranquility and beauty.
5. Gujo Hachiman Castle, Gifu
Perched atop Hachiman Mountain, Gujo Hachiman Castle in Gifu Prefecture is a sight to behold during winter. Blanketed in snow, the wooden reconstruction of this 16th-century Yamashiro (mountain castle) exudes a magical aura. From its elevated position, the castle offers panoramic views of the surrounding valley, adding to its charm.
Built in 1559 by Endo Morikazu, the castle’s original stone walls have been preserved as historical properties. While much of it was reconstructed in 1933 using traditional wooden techniques, the atmosphere of feudal Japan remains intact. A visit to Gujo Hachiman Castle is a journey through history, set against the ethereal backdrop of a snowy Japanese winter.
Conclusion
Japan’s winter landscapes are nothing short of magical. From snow-covered bridges and igloo villages to historic castles and gardens, each destination offers a unique slice of Japan’s cultural and natural beauty. Plan your visit to these picturesque spots and create memories that will last a lifetime. Whether you’re exploring through Japan holiday packages from Dubai UAE or crafting your own adventure, winter in Japan promises an unforgettable journey.

Chrysanthemums are broken into two basic organizations, garden hardy along with exhibition. Garden hardy mums are completely new perennials capable of wintering in most northern latitudes. Exhibition varieties are not usually as stable. Garden hardies usually are defined by their very own ability to produce an amazing amount of small blooms with little if any mechanical aid, such as staking, and also withstanding wind and rain. Exhibition kinds, though, require staking, overwintering in a somewhat dry, cool setting, and sometimes the addition of nights lights.

The ray florets are considered not perfect flowers, as they merely possess the female reproductive organs, while the drive florets are considered best flowers, as they own both male and feminine reproductive organs.
Unusual incurves are selectively bred to produce a giant scalp called an ogiku. The disk florets usually are concealed in coatings of curving ray florets that hang down to create a ‘skirt’. Regular incurves are very similar, but usually using smaller blooms along with a dense, globular type. Intermediate incurve plants may have broader florets and a less densely flowered head.
Inside reflex form, the drives florets are obscured and the ray florets reflex outwards to manufacture a mop-like appearance. The actual decorative form is similar to reflex blooms, however the ray florets you should not radiate at greater 90° angle into the stem.
The pompon form is totally double, of small size, and very globular in form. Solitary and semidouble blossoms have exposed drive florets and one to help seven rows of beam florets. In the anemone form, the disk florets are prominent, often raised and overshadowing the ray florets. The spoon-form disk florets are noticeable and the long, tubular ray florets are generally spatulate. In the crawl form, the disk florets are concealed, as well as the ray florets are generally tube-like with connected or barbed stops, hanging loosely surrounding the stem. In the clean and thistle assortment, the disk florets could be visible.

Another method is to use pieces of deceased wood and the flower grows over the back along the wood to give the illusion from the top that the miniature forest blooms.
