"And oh boy do we have a story for you today! Take it away, Earl!"

As of late, there have been brambles spiralling up and encasing parts of the Ramshackle dorm. The brambles themselves seem generally harmless, as do the roses that fall from them, but if you prick yourself on the thorns, it would be quite an unpleasant sensation, so I'd suggest exercising some extra caution when visiting for now."

"Yup, yup! If you've got a friend or two living in the dorm out there, go check on em and make sure they're doing okay!"

"I know I myself must check in on my dearest companions soon..."

"Well that's it for now! We've been your hosts, Chamomile-"

"And Earl Grey,"

"And this has been NRTea. Stay thirsty, dear listeners!"

The stream continues on for a bit before cutting off, though.

"Hey... James?"

"Yes?"

"Y'know how Yuna has been locking up lately and stuff? Says she's been super sick recently."

"Mhm... It's quite concerning, if I am being honest. I haven't seen her for a while..."

"...I wonder if Yuna is alright. I hope she doesn't get hurt with all those brambles."

[Shiyuu IMMEDIATELY bursts in through the door.] “WE GOTTA GO CHECK ON HER.”

[meanwhile, at Ramshackle, Chase has been engulfed in brambles, the thick vines wrapping around his body and making it too painful to move. Inno is flying where he is, desperately trying to pull them off.]

“C’mon, C’mon! Why isn’t my magic working?!”

“Inno!”

[Inno startles to a halt.] “Chase, I have to get you out of—”

[Chase cuts him off, shaking his head slightly before wincing.] “No…go find the others. I know you can help them…”

“…b-but…” [Inno squeezes his eyes shut as he clenches his fists, tears flowing down his cheeks.] “Fine! I-I’ll be back, okay?”

“Go.”

[Inno stretches out his scaly wings and flies off to find Shiyuu, Lewis, and James.]

“Oh! I can make you one!”

It’s dark. Not a familiar dark, like of a bedroom at midnight or of closed eyelids. No, this dark is different. The scent of trees is heavy in the air. …A forest? At this time of night? The moon was barely visible through the foliage, casting just enough light to see where to step.

But, there’s a light, a little off in the distance. Shelter, possibly? It isn’t ideal to be in the dark woods all by oneself, after all.

As the light gets closer, a tent can be seen. The source of the light! Something moves inside. Maybe they could help? But…a familiar tension crackles in the air. Something feels different about this inevitable encounter.

Inching closer, a tune catches in the air. It’s familiar. That beautiful tone. Could it be…?

Well, there’s only one way to find out, isn’t there?

“Caly!!!” [Inno takes off in the direction of the voice.]

“H-Hey, Inno, wait!—” [Shiyuu chases after him.]

[Sadiya sighs and follows, mumbling to herself,] “No one has ever heard of caution, apparently. Okay, so I’m babysitting…”

“…and we’re not even questioning how we got here. Cool. Great. Lovely.”

[Shiyuu is currently being held back from the Monstro Lounge’s tuna stock by Rocky (who is squeezing them) and Yuume (who is trying to stop Rocky). Leilani watches in amusement.]

[Sadiya has been separated from Atlas and is being supervised by a (very stressed) Inno.]

[Binx is searching for Coven while Wuzhi is nearby, trying not to fall asleep.]

[Anya is scolding Chase, who was riding a blastcycle in the hallway. Chase is pleading for him not to tell Vil or Rook.]

Yuna was carrying a stack of books from the library as she entered Ramshackle.

Most of the titles were related to magic and had no shortage of bookmarks in them, as though Yuna had already gone through them multiple times. It looked like she was about to crack down and study them for another time.

(✨for Shiyuu or Inno or any single silly you think would be fitting. Didn't rly know how to start anything off but I get needing a brain break rn -✨mod.)

“Woah, watch out!” [Inno, who was lying on the floor for god knows what reason, activates a small wind spell to prevent Yuna from tripping over him.] “Close call, eh? Why’re ya carryin’ all those books?”

Where my TWST OCs were prior to NRC!!!

Shiyuu Oboete: I have to keep this one mostly a secret (for future plans), but one thing I can share is that he used to live with his elder sister until she disappeared a few years before he did.

Chase Crewel: Chase was living with Divus (referring to first name for differentiation) near campus. He often visited prior to enrolling, particularly on Bring Your Children To Work Day (which we will pretend they have LMAO). This is one of the reasons that he knows the ins and outs of the school building!

Yume Shylock: I also have to keep Yuume’s past a secret, but one thing I will share is that they were an older sibling, and vanished one day when traveling in the woods for firewood.

Ai Wuzhi: Ai Wuzhi was under a strict studying regiment after returning home from war. Her grandfather had recently passed away, so she was stuck in this situation until she was chosen by the dark mirror. Her parents were among the strongest mages, so her mother would force her into isolation and strict rules, similar to Riddle’s mother.

Inno Va’shin: Explained in his backstory.

Rocky: Rocky was stuck on the streets of a town in Pyroxene. He was homeless since he was neglected and had to fight for survival his whole life. Often, he bounced from place to place, shelter to shelter, living on whatever limited generosity was given to him. This led to developing his tough and jaded exterior. He was also suck at NRC during winter break for this reason.

Sadiya Abadi: Sadiya remained in her role of Kalim Al-Asim’s personal companion, taking care of him when Jamil could not and providing him company. Kalim’s younger siblings often tried to grab at or pull on her wings, so she kept them concealed with magic most of the time.

Binx Nevermore (last name drop!): Binx was a student at RSA. He had been searching desperately for his sibling, planning to tell them about the sanctuary they had found where they could be safe from their creator. This led to him eventually convincing the headmage of RSA and Crowley to have an exchange program, and thus sending Binx to NRC.

Anya Daggerfang: Anya lived on his own prior to NRC. He had been on rough terms with his brother, Kain, and his parents decided it would be best if the two were separated for a while. Kain attends RSA. Anya still cares about Kain deeply, but the two have been having issues since Anya’s unique magic had developed.

Emma Leech: Emma lives in the Coral Sea, attending the same elementary school their brothers and Azul did as children. Emma was often bullied for their disability, so they sought refuge by spending most of their time at NRC.

Leilani Kekoa: Leilani lived with their twin sibling, Keahi, on the Kamaile Islands. Not much is known about their past, but they both seemed to have very important jobs in their village.

Claire Voyan: Claire Voyan was an average student…or at least, that’s what she wants people to believe. Due to their psychic abilities, she had done everything she could to hide them because she just wanted to be average.

Atlas Mekanix: Atlas worked at his grandfather’s workshop, helping him run errands and pick up supplies (because he was too young to work at the time). His grandfather taught him everything he knows about engineering and inventing, leading to his passion for the industry.

Mai Dear: Mai was originally the host character of a popular children’s show in Twisted Wonderland. Due to a magical interference (partially caused by Prince Cheka during a visit to Leona), she had been brought to the physical world at NRC, despite still being a puppet/muppet.

Calypso let out a soft squeak of surprise as she was twirled around, still grasping the flower Inno had given her.

“What’s all of this for, darlin’? It’s not my birthday or anythin’. Wait…is it??”

Overnight, as though it were some incredibly late and panicked last minute Christmas miracle, boxes of presents can be found in front of the rooms of some of the Shrimps, namely Shiyuu, Yuume, Chase, Inno, Wuzhi, and Sadiya.

Some of the gift boxes have some kind of indication as to the sender (such as a feather in place of a ribbon, a doodle of a hat, a letter a mile long full of needlessly complicated prose, a stamp of a sheep, or James's rather elegant and overly detailed signature), but four of the gift boxes just have a hastily scribbled "-Y" on them. With those boxes, there are also some scribbled notes that read

"Sorry for the late gifts! Meant to give these to you sooner, but we all got caught up in things and decided to help give them out together. Hope you enjoy the gifts!

[Yuume had been staying up late, fixing up the bat houses for Ignihyde. She heads to her room to gather more supplies, surprised at the gifts outside their door.]

“O-Oh…?” [He looks around to see if anyone was nearby before entering her dorm to open them.]

[Chase was about to head out for an early morning run when he tripped over a few boxes.] “WAH—”

[He quickly perks up, kneeling next to the presents.] “Oooo, exciting!”

[Wuzhi was about to head to the training field, stretching outside her dorm. That’s when she noticed the gifts at her door.]

“Hm?”

[Sadiya is on a flight around Scarabia when they notice the gifts by their dorm room’s door.]

“Oh?” [They land by the door, kneeling down and looking at the tags.]

[Chase giggles.] “Hehe! He has! He’s my dad, after all!” [His tail is wagging, a wide grin on his face.] “You’re fun!”

[And by the table, Shiyuu flinches when they feel eyes on them.] “…?” [They subtly glance around until their eyes lock on the rabbit on the Mouse’s hat.]

[ The video starts with greetings of different people all piling on each other.

"HII SHRIMPY YUU!!" Heartslabyuls Mouse, in particular, screams loudly, waving his hand wildly and jumping up and down.

The camera shakes before being taken away from the Pomefiore extra, now in the hands of the Mouse.

The bad quality of a face peering down really settled the crazy vibe of this mouse beatsman and the fact is that the background shows the mouse having stolen the phone, and then climbed so far high, he rest of the crew couldn't catch him.

"Shrimp housewarden Yuu!" Came the giggled words. From this close, the viewer could see the mismatched eyes of teal and yellow.

"Oh~ I would love to invite you to one of my tea parties~!"

Suddenly, the view tilted— the camera falling.

The video ends with a black screen and screaming. ]
