TTPD is very much giving 2023 summer and “here’s a detailed analysis of what happened when i was feeling insane. all my raw thoughts about how the person i loved the most betrayed me by stealing me of our future, and how that drove me to be rebellious. here’s my hatred of people trying to control me” and so much of what happened with matty and her feelings for him are connected to how joe made her feel. every song about what happened last summer in her life goes back what and who and why of her relationship with joe. so many interconnections.
whereas the anthology is giving pre-2023 and “here’s how what happened with joe made me feel. i felt stolen and i blame you, but i also blame myself because maybe it’s me and my prophecy” and the album ending with the manuscript and her analyzing her past is helping her move forward because she has hindsight feels soooo

Some incoherent babbling about that premiere for you. Spoilers ahead!
Soooo many interesting character interactions in that first episode that I feel like we've never seen before and some we've been waiting for for 18 months.
That was a breakneck pace, almost too fast but it invites rewatch which definitely isn't a bad thing.
The best stuff IMO was nynaeve and mat (one of the pairs I was not expecting and I love that he's staying at the tower), moiraine and lanfear (and lan), and elaine and... everyone? lol.
Don't even talk to me about lan giving nynaeve his mother's ring and calling her his queen I can't do it.
Watching everyone get annihilated by whatever forsaken trickery and Moiraine and Lan just sitting there was insane. And then the terror on Lanfear's face when they confront her later, excellent. I love seeing Lanfear afraid.
Wish we could've seen more of Egwene's trials but maybe it will be sprinkled in throughout the season as flashbacks?
Seems like the whole theory I had about Siuan from last season is wrong, but we did bring up compulsion again so that's interesting.
Moggy truly positioning herself as the insanest of the insane and I'm here for it.
Overall we truly got a little bit of everyone this episode, and along with that insane cold open, what a way to get the ball rolling for this season.

not even sure why but this was one of my favourite tmagp statements yet. and while as cool as it is to meet an archivist (what!!!!!!) i think it would have been creepier if we didn’t really find out what had been chasing mr jarrod, just a vague description of some creepy entity and a gruesome death, earlier tma kinda thing yk (guy who’s favourite seasons are the earlier ones). i like that helen was ana estate agent again tho, maybe she was like this before the distortion encounter. maybe not tho, as the laugh being reminiscent of the distortion thing in the script makes me think there’s some link between heln richardson and the distortion even in this world . kissing noises at the end uncalled for, what is this the penumbra podcast? i know full well that i would never normally publish a post this rambly but it is 5 something in the morning right now and i pretty much haven’t slept. also i’ve got to get up soon as i’m gonna be spending upwards of 11 hours travelling today. maybe a season 1 tma episode will do me good before i try and sleep, and i’ll download a few before i goooooo

Finished Life is Strange Double Exposure and it hit me that 9 years ago I played the original Life is Strange game. One time. ONCE. Beginning to end, I played it in its entirety ONE time. It only took one time to permanently etch itself into my psyche. Blackwell Academy, the bathroom, scrapyard train tracks, the pool scene, the Dare, the dark room, the storm, the Choice, all of it ingrained into my subconscious, coming back to me when playing the direct sequel.
I liked Double Exposure. I enjoyed seing Max again: back to being the awkward artistic geeky introvert I remembered! Truthfully, I cannot thank Hannah Telle enough for her work in bringing Max back to us. Without her, this Max literally and figuratively, wouldn't be so.
DE isn't without a few criticisms, but I didn't expect there to not be any. To place it on the same pedestal as OG LiS would be subjecting it to immediate fail. I just viewed it as its own piece. Of course OG LiS will ALWAYS be special to me; its impact will never be replicated, and I do wish I could replay OG LiS for the first time again! But I really enjoy this franchise, especially "Max's universe." And I just find it neat that I met Max (and crew) when we were both 17/18 and now we meet again as adults.

Oh, my heart.
That was a beat for beat, the most perfectly executed episode of a show that i have seen in a very long time.
It was art.
It answered so many questions.
Gave us such a beautiful payoff for all that came before it.
Lilia broke my heart.
She has so many parallels of Billy Pilgrim in Slaughterhouse Five by Kurt Vonnegut.
They are both unstuck in time.
Lilia has the death of her coven and all the death she sees every time she touches on her gift.
Billy Pilgrim becomes unstuck during the war. His brain unable to cope with the horrors he experienced.
Both can be seen as a form of dementia or mental illness. It is painful to watch, it is beautifully depicted, it is horrifying to experience.
What a good fucking show!
I am so glad we get such a complex telling of these witches stories. That each character has such depth, so many layers.
It is so explicitly queer. But the queerness is not the point of the story, just another layer. I am in love with the way it is written.
I hope we can see more shows of this quality and complexity in the future.
These women are complex disasters. They have centuries of baggage, grief, apathy. Yet the journey on the road is also one of hope for them all.
How can you not love them? How can you not love this show?
The final two episodes are going to hurt, and it is going to be delicious!

A few E8 thoughts
I cannot defend against the colorism and kill your gays charges, and I sympathize with those who are taking this very strongly
It was a *much* better death than in the books
I was completely prepared for Moiraine to die, and then she didn’t? And I’m confused?
I love that Lan knew what was happening this time and was able to help defend Moiraine, even if he wasn’t actually anymore helpful than in the books
I love that Nynaeve broke her block and didn’t need Lan to rescue her this time
I greatly enjoyed the trip through the doorway, even though it was brief
I wish there was more closure on the Tanchico storyline?
Josha is absolutely killing it as Rand and for this, and many other reasons, I really hope we get a season 4
“Death is lighter than a feather, duty heavier than a mountain”

Will Finny actually interact with puppies... or are these just symbolic of the students from each class, since they are children?
I'm guessing, for now, this is merely symbolic. Though I suppose the orphanage could have puppies for the kids to play with....

A small idea: AU where Gravity works against Pucci, and Rikiel is taken into the Joestar fold at some point, anywhere from before Stone Ocean starts to in its endgame. The rod boi deserves some love.
yessssssss
okay but what if I take it a step further and somehow, someway all three of the brothers manage to get found by Jotaro and Jolyne as kids. Like, purely through Gravity Bullshit and accidentally meeting them and slowly forging bonds
Ungalo and Jolyne bumped into each other at the movie theatre for a Disney movie and clicked immediately, practically giving the whole movie a hushed commentary and promised to meet later to do this again
during a trip to the hospital when Jolyne got really sick and (Jotaro's actually there this time) she ends up befriending the really anxious kid she shared a room with and decides she wants to be friends with him so her parents exchange information with his mom
Jotaro was nearby when Donatello gets arrested and ends up being called in as a witness to vouch for what he meant by "they fell from the sky." After the trial is over and he learns exactly why Donatello was there and pulls some strings with the SWF to make sure he gets put in a good home
Jotaro probably realises who they are pretty quick, but just because they're Dio's kids doesn't erase the fact they're Joestars. They didn't ask for their father to be who he was, and they're completely innocent
plus, Jolyne would never forgive him if he ever mistreated her favorite cousins
fast forward to 2001 and Giorno learns that not only does he have a very large extended family, but three younger half brothers as well
also I think it would be funny that when Jotaro sends Koichi to Italy, the Brando kids just...... follow him. They used their Stands to pull it off without anyone noticing and the whole time the Bucci Gang is doing their whole thing they're being followed by some barely teenagers (Donatello would be 15 and Rikiel and Ungalo would be 13/14) who are On A Mission
hell, who knows maybe they even get Jolyne (who's 9ish I think) in on it because she's basically their sister and she wants to meet their new older brother!!!

Inside Out 2 spoilers below
I liked it, and I liked how Anger got Pouchy in the end. I like Anger period, and this movie definitely does him justice. When it goes on Disney+ I’m expecting edits pronto.
Disgust and Fear were ok, I ended up not hating Fears new voice as much as I was expecting I would. Disgusts whole thing with Vance was alright ig. Thank god those secrets weren’t in the movie for long though, tho I was expecting the Deep Dark Secret to be revealed.
Joy and Sadness were good as always, but I don’t really have more to say on that. I’m expecting Sadness x Embarrassment fanart to come up soon, they were kinda neat in their scenes together.
I was expecting to like Envy, which I guess I still do, but she kinda got on my nerves for being Anxiety’s sidekick all the time. I think Disney is really trying to push her as a marketable plushy.
Ennui is there, and she didn’t need anything more. Ennui is great and her concept of using the control app is good, and it’s actually important to the plot.
Anxiety is what I was expecting her too be, which was misguided. I really liked the visuals of the end part where she was trying so desperately to fix Riley. It was a very toned down version to what I was expecting, which was a near death experience caused by her, but still.
Bree and the other one were alright, I don’t know which one was which, but they were cool ig. Kinda glad they weren’t AS important in the plot than I thought they’d be.
Valentina was cool, I thought Riley was gonna have a crush on her but whatever. I’m expecting people are gonna ship that ship hard. They might’ve during the credits, but I wish we got a look into her mind.
I didn’t hate the Sar-chasm as much as I thought I would, at least it made sense in the story, no less thanks to my queen Ennui, the saviour of everything I was dreading.
I probably have more thoughts on this if I really think about it, but that’s all for now

Initial thoughts. No real spoilers other than the general plot (except the paragraph on Lord Debling).
I woke up at 4 and watched the episodes before I've even gone to work. I fast forwarded through the Mondrich storyline and all of Marcus Anderson's (minus his reveal). I didn't have time to linger so I have to go back and watch them. But from what I can tell, I'm not very interested (sorry!).
The pacing is weird. Like too much with way too many people. If you didn't know it's Polin's season, I'm not sure you could tell. Francesca and Cressida are much bigger storylines. Which, whatever. I'll have to really watch to absorb.
Sometimes the acting feels weird, like you could tell it was acting. And like from EVERYONE, minus the older ladies. I think Nicola is good though too. But even both Lukes seem weirdly disjointed. Some scenes were brilliant and others just fell flat.
I wanted a bit more longing looks. But again, I watched very quickly (I was brushing my teeth and getting dressed while I was watching).
The Lord Debling storyline was quick, and sort of odd. I think the hint of chemistry with him and Cressida made it ring false with him and Penelope. I wasn't unhappy to see how it ended, although I thought him getting upset at proposing a loveless marriage to Penelope and then getting upset that she had feelings elsewhere was an oxymoron.
Oh Colin, my sweet summer child. I completely bought his struggle with figuring out who he is. I just wish we had more time with him.
Honestly, I'm loving that they stayed close to the book. But if you haven't read the book, I'm not sure if the scenes always fit with the rest of the MANY other storylines. I'm not disappointed at all, I think they are nailing the book scenes and I love their friendship so I totally am buying the friends to Lovers. And the carriage? Uh, yeah. That was good. My favorite part was the laughter, damn. And Colin's happy decision to propose was the icing on the cake.
The next 4 episodes are gonna be wild! Like Lady Whistledown has hardly been an issue but a storm is coming. And I so look forward to Penelope and Eloise's friendship again. I'm not sure the whole Cressida and Eloise thing has me invested.

So um... hello gamers...
Tumblr media
I just watched Sonic Movie 3. It's uh. It's good. Yep. It's good. Good movie. Good movie....
.....
......
.....HOLY MOTHER OF GOD I CANT FEEL MY LEGS!!! IT WAS LIKE I WENT ON A ROLLER-COASTER AHHHHH!!!!!!!!
OH MY GOD THE MOVIE IS ACTUALLY GOOD THANK GODDDDDDDD!!!!!
There are some flaws tho.... sometimes the comedy can really get in the way of the cool shit and I wish it wasn't there or better executed, the pacing was REALLYYYYY fast and certain scenes needed to last longer so that they are given the proper time to take in the emotion.
BUT OTHER THAN THAT?!?! OH MAN OH MY GODNDJEIWODOQOEKSOWOW
Give me the fucking 4k blu ray i NEED to pause some stills for wallpapers!!!!!
The post credit scenes... the first one... it really intrigues me and I'm already imagining the WILD STUFF that they could do. But I'm REALLYYYYYY worried about one aspect of the post credit scene that I won't spoil. If you’ve already watched the movie, then you can probably guess that im talking about.... THAT reveal at the end of the scene.
Anyways!!! Um. I think i really need to sit down and proceed the movie, really gather my thoughts.
Good movie tho, my cinema was awesome and cheered at some moments!!! But I wont spoil them dont worry.

Rosie: as much as i love Rosie/Wayne, i feel like they did her right. Rosie likes staying home to read, but she fuckin’ loves rescuing dogs more. she’s a great gal. she’s the only one of the hicks who isn’t ‘stuck’; she knows exactly what she wants and she’s making it happen. she wants Wayne to come with her, but from the delicate way she went about it, she already knows his answer, and she’s not surprised when he finally catches up and twigs.
good for her for going after what she wants and making it happen.

tlou season 2 episode 1 spoiler thoughts:
GAY
Joel telling Gail that he's a good guy and he doesn't understand why Ellie is mad at him is so fucking funny. and like wtf dude how much do you have to repress what you did to treat your daughter's reaction to you murdering a bunch of people for her as some kind of teenage angst? He's so clearly going to therapy to validate his own hurt feelings and not actually deal with or fix his conflict with Ellie. I love how Gail calls him out on his bullshit too! not only can you not fix anything if your too afraid to speak about it, but you also can't treat yourself as a victim of your own actions and peoples reactions to said actions, it's also interesting because we don't delve into his psyche this much in the game, and seeing his rational really feels right now like he just cannot handle the weight of what he did, or how it tore his relationship with ellie apart, and thats very interesting to see further insight into
Ellie is so fucking reckless in this episode and I love it. the girl has a death wish. the way she cuts open her wound so easily and stitches it up? you can tell this isn't the first bite she's gotten since the mall, and it makes so much sense. shes absolutely not treating death as a real thing that could happen to her, or is so self destructive that part of her wants it to be over. idk it just makes so much sense and i like to see glimpses of that part of her before joels death because it highlights she isn't this reckless just because she lost joel, she's always been self destructive.
Dina and Joel's relationship is so cute! I love how Dina becomes a connection to Joel for Ellie, bridging the gap between them. Joel feels seen by Dina and can 'check up' on Ellie through her. but their also just similar interests and Dina likes being around Joel which is so cute! sadly... i dont think they are going to get to watch the curtis and viper, but they will always in our hearts <3
Gail was cool as fuck and she's married to Eugene? ok so it was pretty obvious joel killed eugene from the trailers but im so intrigued by her saying its the way he killed eugene that doesn't sit right with her. like what does that mean? i assume eugene got infected, and joel had to kill him, but did he refuse to tell eugene? did he murder him without letting him talk to gail one last time and that's what she hates about it?
Maria still cool as fuck. I'd love to see more of her, but also likely won't as it feels like the season is going to mainly focus on Ellie and Dina in Seattle but who knows.
Seeing the first glimpse of Abby and she already has so much mirroring to Ellie (and Joel) and I love it. The graveyard scene, I love how her friends are clearly not that interested in hunting Joel down. Owen clearly wants Abby to move on, but she can't and the only way to have her go along with them is to agree to revenge against Joel, not to say they don't hate him for what he did too, but they clearly are more interested in finding a way forward, not focusing on killing the man responsible for their misery. you can see the blood-thirst in her eyes! she can't let it go. she can't move on, and neither will ellie. two sides of the same coin.
the ending of the episode was so intriguing... showing ellie walk away from Joel's porch!! it throws off what we know, they have to talk again but then how. and has Joel told Ellie about what happened? the trailer suggests it, but he's so aloof to what he did wrong that it almost feels like they just haven't talked about it at all?? im so excited to see what happens. and it feels different enough that idk where its going even though I've played through the game several times lol. they've kept a lot of mysteries about ellie and joel's relationship, and tension that still needs to be resolved... i love it.

Finished binge watching Baby Reindeer in a day just because i couldn't bear the anxiety of putting it away after one or two episodes.
I feel like someone has hit me in the head with a sledgehammer. It's one of the best portrayals of trauma and victimhood I've seen on TV.
And the way that show ended... I need days to process this!
