Life in Ancient Egypt
By Jeff Dahl - Own work using:Shaw, Ian , ed. (2003) The Oxford History of Ancient Egypt, Oxford University Press ISBN: 0-19-280293-3. CC BY-SA 4.0, https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?curid=5818406
Life in Ancient Egypt was focused on the Nile and its cycle of flooding and receding. From June to September, the Nile flooded and made agriculture work nearly impossible, but also made the soil richer with the minerals. Once the floods started receding, organized labor needed to clear and survey the land and clean out irrigation canals. This was done under a system called corvée in which labor is paid to the government in a form of a tax. All land also belonged to the government, either the pharaoh directly or by noble families that were part of the government system, so did all the crops. However, it was also the government's responsibility to distribute the food back to the people in payment for their labor.

Ancient Egyptian society was very stratified, with farmers being the largest proportion of the population. Artists and craftspeople were above them, working in shops near temples, which were also owned by the temple or the government. Scribes and various officials were above them, the upper class of Egypt who wore bleached white linen, giving them the name of the 'white kilt class'. The next layer of society were specialists such as priests, engineers, and physicians. Then came the nobles with the pharaoh being the highest ranked member of Egyptian society. There were those who were indentured servants, but they maintained the right to buy and sell their servitude and were quite often treated by doctors if needed. They could even work their way up to nobility with the right connections.

Everyone was paid in grain and other agricultural goods, cosmetics, and clothing, with the amount being based on their rank. There was a standardized exchange rate for other goods and copper or silver ingots could be used to trade as well, though they weren't wide spread enough to be considered a true currency. People could supplement their diet and income by hunting or fishing

Despite this stratification, men and women had equal rights. Every person had the right to petition the highest courts (the vizier) to prosecute a crime. Men and women could both own and sell property, could request a divorce, inherit, set up a contract that outlined what responsibilities would be taken up by each partner in marriage and what their responsibilities were for any children should they divorce. Even though women had equality with men, they didn't have as much of a role in the classes above the priesthood, with their highest rank being the Divine Wives of Amun. There were very few women who held the office of Pharaoh, such as Hatshepsut and Cleopatra VII.

The average age at the first marriage was 20 for men and 12 or 13 for girls. It was typically a private arrangement, involving the bride and groom and their parents. Despite the age difference, husbands were to treat their wives with respect, though that didn't always include fidelity. Based on love poetry found, Egyptians felt that emotional attachment was very important, so its most likely that there was some consent around the marriage. A household could include grandparents, parents, children, any unmarried family members like aunts and uncles, widowers, and divorcées. Egyptian life focused on the family, with games and stories for entertainment or a tavern for time with friends.

These things gave the Ancient Egyptians a sense of unity and led to a homogeneous culture much faster than other ancient civilizations. They viewed their gods as benevolent and trusted in them to supply their needs because of the regularity of the Nile river. This trust in the gods extended to the pharaoh and their way of life, leading them to hold on to tradition because it worked for them and for their ancestors, so there was no need to change things. They believed their way of life was superior to any others and there was nothing foreigners could offer them.

First Impressions - Once Human
So what we have here is an open-world survival-crafter that shares its bones more with the likes of Ark and Fallout 76 than it does Division, which was sort of the impression I got from most gameplay clips whom apparently like cutting out all the tree-chopping and rock-mining. But here we are.
I get Division vibes in the town by town gameplay but once you warp back to your custom built base, it becomes another new age Minecraft clone in a hurry while you smelt ingots and craft ammo. They've even tossed in some kind of minipet/Palworld type function which I admittedly have not engaged with to any severe degree beyond letting some paper airplane fly out of my backpack to do supplemental damage for me.
So quite frankly there's a bit of an identity crisis here, a game that's going for a wide appeal but instead taking the blandest element of each in order to hit a live service market. There's of course a shop here but I haven't seen so much as "pay to win" as "pay for cosmetics and some various currencies that help increase dungeon loot pools. Not so much a "pay to skip progress" as "pay to lighten the grind".
The story isn't much to talk about on its own. The usual eastern RPG fare of giant monsters spreading corruption and ended the world as we knew it. I am not sure if it's because of bad writing or translations but not much is really made very clear, I'm not even sure if we're in some pocket dimension, parallel realm, or if this is a full blown post-apocalypse. I'm going to be honest, my mind checked out of the story pretty quickly and I think the Devs did to. I can handle our protagonist having no voice, but when you click some basic four word response during a quest and it cuts to our character pantomiming some reaction it really breaks the reality of how people speaking to each other work. Through almost no prompting every NPC seems to recognize our PC as a "Mayfly", which we're apparently one of the last of. It all just feels so awkward and clunky when we step into town to say four words and have a short story spun at us which ends up amounting to a quest: "Active 5 pylons in this zone, then defeat the big boss".
So where's the merit, here? Honestly, the gameplay loop remains satisfying. If you're a veteran of Ark, Conan, FO76 and that general open world builder type of genre, then you will already understand the basic, fundamental flow of the game. After that, it's really just a matter of prioritizing your schematic tree and figuring out what that beeping noise from your backpack means, and I've never had a question gone unanswered from the world chat.
I can't explain it but it's so viscerally satisfying to continually upgrade from one tier to the next. You fumble with copper weaponry and bullets for a few hours but when you move your base zone by zone, moderately near resource nodes, the upgrades can come flying in. You can move your base for free (with a ten minute cooldown) so you can have your stronghold move from zone to zone as you progress through tiers, which has been very satisfying. In other games of this genre you usually have to dismantle you're entire base and rebuild from scratch.
I do wish this game leaned heavier into its Division feel. Some of the most fun I have in this game is exploring each township, dotted with enemies and moderately hidden gear crates. There's even Souls game-like messages left from other players (the identity crisis pops up yet again) which can help you find the more fickle of hidden chests. Strewn about the world are minor items to be easily disassembled later, which reminds me of my time on Dying Light and Division, grabbing electronics and wire which feed into schematics and crafting later. It's a loop I don't hate, I just typically don't enjoy returning to base and being forced to semi-AFK while hundreds of ingots smelt over the course of twenty minutes.
It's one thing that this genre in recent years doesn't understand. The only reason I bought into Conan Exiles was because it let me customize my experience. Whether on a single player server or with various mods and addons to give me more decor, armor, and weapons. I miss being able to tweak the harvest value to cut down the wasted time of watching my PC chop trees. Over. And over. And over again. Yet the call of cash is too tempting over making an actually comfortable experience.
The monster design is interesting, except ten hours in I already tire of the same zombies shuffling around every street. Every so often you run into a properly unique enemy, like a giant with balloons that you need to shoot as they light up or a floating woman with an umbrella for a head. In fact there's a lot of "head is just some object actually" in terms of design. The game's mascot is this walking bus with arms in its undercarriage but that just seems to be an environmental thing that walks along the path, that's far too easy to just drive by and ignore.
This is a lot of negative for what might eventually be a thumbs up. So what does this game do better than others of its ilk?
I can't say. I am still yet drawn to the game over time that I might eventually have a solid 50 to 100 hours dumped into, but I'm not sure it will hold me as Conan Exiles did or shake me off as Fallout 76 did. I got ~1800 hours on Conan because logging in never felt like a chore. Meanwhile FO76 and other games it's always: Do these tasks/dailies or you'll miss out on a special currency to buy special items, cosmetics, or actual game-fixing features like being able to recharge your fusion cores. Time till tell if Once Human walks this road, but for now I am still enjoying the general gameplay loop and tier progression.

Warhammer 40K Darktide Patch Notes “Too Many to List,” but Here You Go
The Warhammer 40k Darktide patch notes for release 1.0.30 are here, and they’re big. So big, in fact, even developer Fatshark says “there are too many patch notes to publish in a single announcement.” With a tonne of quality-of-life enhancements, more rewarding challenges, and easier upgrades coming to the grimdark co-op game alongside a whole host of weapon balancing tweaks, there’s plenty to get dug into – so let’s give them a look and see what’s new. Right up front, you’ll be pleased to know that the vast majority of these changes are beneficial to players on and off the battlefield. Wargear sets are now available for customisation, meaning you can save up to five loadouts – including all your weapons and curios, cosmetics, and your chosen talents. If you’re after some particular gear pieces, you can now acquire specific weapons by mark at the Armoury Exchange. Changes to Sire Melk’s weekly contracts make them easier to complete, and with higher Ordo Ingots payouts for doing so. You’ll also be able to re-roll tasks an unlimited amount of times to get ones you’re happy with. There will be more available missions on the mission board as well, and the rewards will increase as you ramp up the difficulty. Prices at the Shrine of the Omnissiah have been adjusted based on item rating, making it “much more viable” for low-level modifications. You’ll also be able to extract blessings from weapons by sacrificing them, then use them on other weapons of the same mark. These earned blessings are shared across all characters on your account, too. In addition to this, consecrated items are now more likely to unlock higher tier perks and blessings. Warhammer 40k Darktide patch notes - menu screen for the re-blessing option at the Shrine of OmnissiahYou’ll now earn the Emperor’s Gift upon every successful mission completion, with increased difficulty level or additional conditions improving the chances of a higher rarity item being gifted. There’s plenty of nice quality-of-life upgrades, too. Weapon marks will now all have unique HUD icons, rather than sharing them across a weapon pattern – this means, for example, you can now clearly distinguish between each of the Psyker’s staves. Your inventory and those at stores can now be sorted by item rating or type, and a bunch of character emotes have been added that you can use while in the hub area. There’s also the aforementioned weapon balancing – most of this aims to buff weapon blessings that were considered weaker, with buffs to several blessings that Fatshark considered “modest or sometimes downright pointless in their old format.” It adds that the team welcomes continued player feedback following the update, and hopes to consider weapon blessing configurations as a core part of its patch rotation moving forward. What are the effects and functions of Amazonite?
First, the health effect of amazonite
The spiritual role of amazonite
Amazonite is a gemstone of confidence, people who are frustrated in the love field, examination room, shopping mall, and battlefield for a while, can obtain its confidence, courage, and luck infusion by communicating with the energy of amazonite, which will help to rekindle confidence, make a comeback, and turn defeat into victory!
According to Western mysterious legends, green and blue amazonite has the energy of luck, speculation, and danger elimination; Losing playing cards with this treasure is easy to win; To invest in business, it is easy to succeed in getting rich; Assuming dangerous tasks, it is easy to get the help of nobles and turn the evil into luck.
Help to get rid of negative energy, will not think bad in everything, drill the horns, and prevent people from self-violence, self-harm, self-abuse, suicide; For those who hesitate in everything, it helps them to make up their minds, increase their ambitions, and achieve their goals.
Carve the Amazonite into a gold ingot, wear it with you or place it in the home with odd numbers, with luck, fortune, nobility, and a little speculation, teaching people the confidence and courage to turn defeat into victory and make a comeback.
Second, the wearing effect of amazonite
However, with the passage of time, people have also found more and more jade similar to jadeite, amazonite is one of them.
Jade is worn on the body for a long time, jade and the human body contact friction, trace elements will enter the human body, balance the level of trace elements in the human body. Zinc can activate insulin, regulate energy metabolism, maintain the body's immune function, promote children's intellectual development, and have anti-cancer, anti-teratological, anti-aging and other effects. Manganese can fight the damage caused by free radicals to the human body, participate in the synthesis of proteins and vitamins, promote blood circulation, accelerate metabolism, anti-aging, prevent Alzheimer's disease, osteoporosis, atherosclerosis, etc.
Third, precautions for wearing amazonite:
When touching other hard objects, the surface of amazonite will produce scratches and pits, so it is best to take off the jewelry when working.
Pay attention to avoid contact with chemicals. Keep away from chemical solvents such as shampoo, shower gel, and detergent.
Jewelry is easily lost to its original luster due to long-term pollution by sweat, dust, cosmetics such as perfume, etc., so it should be cleaned regularly. Can be washed with mild clean water. After cleaning and rinsing, always remember to wipe with suede or a clean, soft cloth to avoid scratches.
Correct storage is also important. When not worn, it should be carefully placed in the jewelry box, it is better to wrap a soft cloth, and it is best to store all kinds of jewelry separately to avoid collision and friction.

Firstly: belated congratulations on having Two Whole hot coal eyes on Jozra now! Secondly: it felt like you managed to get gold enough for that Pristine Dragon's Eye in practically no time... how? How in the world did you collect that kinda sum? Daily grinding, 10 hours a day? It seems so impossible to get any substantial sums on this game without major RNG luck or without treating the game almost like a job, with how diligently one must farm things...
hello! thank you for the congratulations, that's much appreciated!! and that's a very fair question, it's quite a bit of gold, but it wasn't as hard, or time consuming (per play session that is) to collect as you might think! let me break it down a little
so i started really gunning for the pristine eye maybe a few days after the final part of champions came out. that dropped on the 27th april 2021 and i bought the eye around the end of september. for the sake of ease we'll count 'i want that' from may 1st to october 1st. that's five months. and from that, we can figure out how much gold i had to start with. here's the figure from gw2 efficiency
i tend to accrue gold pretty passively and spend it on things i need as i need them, so that's just some walking around money. when pristine eyes first dropped i didn't have a good sense for how much they were going to cost so i was willing to let this be a long, long project
so when i set out to get this i had two things in mind. one, i had to have fun doing what it is i was doing. two, i couldn't possibly spend a silly amount of time per day on a cosmetic video game item. that's just not feasible. so i figured out a system pretty quick!
1) every single time i logged in (which wasn't every day! ever other day at most) i'd do my daily and then i would go to drizzlewood and buy 15 keys. i didn't have to do the meta, i just needed to buy the keys. so when I logged on for the day i'd snoop for a champ run in lfg. if I got one, great, easy money, if not no biggie. the reward tracks are great for putting towards ascended crafting, you get lots of mats for deldrimor ingots and spiritwood planks, so on, and the last part of the frost legion track drops a weapon you can salvage the rune out of from a bl kit. little optimisations like that go a long, long way!
2) I did two full dragonfall runs a week if I was on and a good one was happening. that's killing kralk -> keyfarm -> killing kralk -> refining and selling. that's about two hours at a time per run, so four hours total per week (if I was playing that week). i loooove podcasts, so that was my podcast time! just something I could zone out to and have fun (I worked my way through rex riveter private eye and a relisten of my dad wrote a porno). this was before the volatile magic market tanked via the 'return to' achievements but at the time I could get between 50 - 100 gold per run selling trophy shipments (upgrading t5 to t6 through dust)/leather shipments (crafting timegated mats), selling green unidentified gear and ecto. I'll be very, very conservative and say I made 150 gold per week
so 150 gold over five months, which is 21 weeks. 21*150 = 3150 gold, which is roughly the amount of a pristine eye. i know for a fact I didn't play all those weeks, but I played at a time where the game hurled unbound magic and mystic coins at you so i used those to make up the gap
i hope that answers your question! farming in guild wars has diminishing returns, it's not worth it to do a LOT per session. you can only open a certain amount of chests in df per day, you can only buy so many drizzlewood keys, so on. a little every now and then, with a hefty dose of patience, adds up
#guild wars 2#gw2#here's how i made the gold for the eye if you were wondering#it's all about the little things!#the biggest quick and dirty tip i can give is if you EVER run dragonfall (especially when VM stops being in the hole)#tier 1 karmic retribution is MANDATORY#it forces every enemy to hard drop volatile magic since karma counts as a dropped item#oh i got a couple lucky drops too! volcanic weapons and the like i sold those

koysroleplays:
“Absolutely! If you don’t mind me asking, is it–” Koy cut herself off abruptly, after noticing the sheer height of the man that she’d been addressing. It was that first, then the cascade of silver flowing from his head, then his striking green eyes. Not only that, but he was terribly easy on the eyes.
Koy couldn’t help but look puzzled as she tried to determine just who– or what this person was. The slitted pupils screamed miqo’te, but there was no cat ears or tail to be found. Not to mention, he was much too tall to be one, even if he had somehow been a miqo’te from her original world. No– this guy was something else entirely, she could feel it. It felt like.. he wasn’t alone.
It reminded her of herself. Her, and the two mysterious entities that hid within her, sent there by a cult of madmen who thought they could make her a vessel for their savior. The amalgamation of two beings that violently opposed one another, meant to bring about balance and cull the bloodthirsty beasts spawned by the people’s own malevolence.
Koy snapped out of it, rapidly shaking her head as if to rattle the thoughts inside of it. She didn’t want to be impolite. “Ah, right! Is this cosmetic or for combat? Any special occasions?” She accepted the slip and studied it for a moment. Then she produced a few ingots of silver from a crate nearby and dug in her desk for a small box containing several already-polished rubies. While inspecting the materials closely, she would look back up at him here and there, her expression focused.
Koy picked out the finest silver ingot and some rubies matching the image on the parchment and set them aside gently. “Most of the rings people get from me are combat-oriented. I just thought I should ask. Don’t wanna give someone’s spouse a speed boost or super strength,” she laughed to herself. She picked up a goldsmithing hammer and spun it in her hand. “Alright, this will take around 2-3 hours. I’ll notify you as soon as it’s finished!” With that, she vanished through a wooden door to begin her work.
Sephiroth crosses his arms over his chest and tilts his head to one side with his eyes closed in thought. He considers himself a detail-oriented person, yet when it comes down to it, he still finds room for doubt. That unimpeachable fear that he will make the wrong choice. Once the die is cast, there will be no escape route.
“Both,” he admits, painfully aware that the growing length of time between his answers exposes his uncertainty to even the most negligent observer. The craftswoman before him is earnest, and for that he is grateful. Watching Koy set up the foundations of his project buys him to think.
By the time his answer has revealed itself, Sephiroth finds himself standing in the bazaar without an attendant. Well then...Shaking his head, amused at himself and his circumstances, Sephiroth pens out yet a another missive to ensure that Koy can enlist the assistance of a moogle to deliver the final product.
#this is definitely still suited more for an ask format lol#but i wanted to pen out something anyway#thanks!#koysroleplays#c: oc#v: xiv

Mini world
Okay so this is a g/t idea and can be applied to anyone from the Minecraft universe.
This idea is based on two mods clay soliders mod and chiseled bits mod
The chiseled bits mod basically allow you to take tiny bits out of regular blocks. So I for this post I decided that borrower can nock bits out of blocks with their hands the same way that you can take out bits with the chisel. They can also craft using these bits.
To help visualize this imagine a borrower spawns in Minecraft. They find a tree and after nocking out a few bark bits they reach the wood inside. After obtaining four wood bits they are able to craft a mini crafting table.
One whole tree could basically make a whole village for a bunch of borrowers.
Now where clay soliders comes in is the different items the soliders fight with.
First off the use one leather to make a whole leather chestplate so three or four leather could make a full set of leather armor. As for other armor types they could uses bits or nuggets to craft the other sets of armor. Three of four nugget from either gold or iron could make a full set of armor and 24 chiseled bits from diamonds or Netherite could make a full set of armor (4 for boots, 5 for a helmet, 7 for pants, and 8 for a chestplate like normal crafting but tiny.)
Weapons: they can craft normal weapons using the chiseled bits but I think the can make some other weapons as well. Here are the weapons that were inspired by the clay soliders mod:
Stick + string + flint = spear
Half a shear blade: melee weapons that can be duel welded because if you broke the shears in half you would get 2 shear blades
Gravel: rocks as range weapons
Blaze rods: can be used similar to a sword with fire aspect though unless the borrower as something to hold the blaze rod they will also be burned.
Snowballs: range weapons
Fire charges: range weapons
Bone: can made into a club
Bowl + iron ingot = shield
Paper: cosmetic cape
Feather: parachute
They can also use slime balls to either help them bounce real high or to stick enemies to the ground.
They can also use things like redstone to build traps or blind their enemies.
So borrowers could build a functioning society by using chiseled bits the same way normal players use blocks and also snagging items like slime balls and fire charges from unsuspecting players. (Also borrowers do now exist in Minecraft in the form of inchlings.)

The second life of aluminium packaging
We consume products wrapped in aluminum almost every day. This waste most often ends up in the incinerator because it does not fit into the traditional recycling channels. The Liège Metallurgical Research Center (CRM)[1] has found a way to give a second life to small household and industrial aluminum.
Coffee capsules, crisps’, biscuits’, chocolate or coffee wrappers, lasagna trays, medicine packaging, aerosols, hair coloring tubes, wine bottle rims, milk product jar lids ..., the list of everyday consumer products wrapped in aluminum is long.
This waste may be light but, on average, the Belgian throws almost two kilos each year in the dust bin.
And if they are found back in nature, their natural degradation is very slow: around 200 years for a can. If this packaging does not end up in the incinerator, it can end up in export circuits with industrial aluminum waste such as offcuts and shavings left over from the manufacturing process, motors and window frames and are therefore not recovered at their fair value with us (aluminum is currently worth 1800 euros per ton). It is not easy to give them a second life: they are very thin and polluted by glues, varnishes, paints, lacquers, plastic films, oils, foams or rubber.
"We need to make better use of these products and, in a conventional recycling circuit, it is very complicated. This requires special equipment to treat organic materials and, above all, the packaging aluminum burns very easily if we do not take precautions, ”explains Christian Marique, technical director at the Liège Metallurgical Research Center. "It must therefore be conditioned beforehand, mixed with other denser products, be prepared, fragmented and then compacted to be processed more easily. This is what we have put in place."
Metallurgy in reverse
Since three years, a CRM team has been working on designing a process for recycling household and industrial aluminum. This initiative is part of the "Reverse metallurgy" project, funded by the Walloon Regional Government since 2015. "Aluminum was selected as a key product by Reverse metallurgy. A secondary aluminum sector already exists , in which we recover a series of products which are melted then reformatted. When we looked in more detail at the potential of recycling, we wanted to go much further. " The technique from the Liège metallurgy industry collective research centre, doubly patented at European level, is now perfected. It also separates the aluminum from the coffee capsules from the grounds they contain and also allows domestic and industrial waste to be mixed in a single recycling process.
Outside the CRM premises, containers are filled with this little everyday waste.
"We needed raw materials. As early as 2016, the CRM asked its staff [2] to collect this household waste of small aluminum. We gave reusable bags to fetch them as well as a magnet, in order to be able to distinguish them from steel waste (such as certain capsules or boxes), which themselves are magnetic, ” says the technical director, who is also the head of the aluminum recycling project. The recycling line is on a pilot scale but the CRM, in collaboration with the Liège-based company CMI[3], has designed an economically profitable factory project in which 20,000 tons of aluminum waste can be recycled per year. The plan foresees a doubling of the volume in a second stage. The project does not only have an ecological impact (in addition to the reprocessing aspect, the recycling of aluminum consumes only 5% of the energy necessary for the primary production sector), it also aims to create a new foundry activity in Wallonia, focused on recycling.
The miniaturized line of the CRM can process between 300 and 400 kilos of waste per day. "They are crushed, fragmented; certain organic components are released and then the waste is compacted into briquettes, with a density comparable to the same volume of pure aluminum, in order to make them easily handled. We knowingly compose them with certain types of waste placed together because we are targeting a particular chemistry ", explains, with a supporting demonstration, Adrien Nélis, engineer and head of the technical part of the aluminum project.
Almost pure recycled aluminum
Then follows the stage when they are put in the oven. The oven is heated to 800 °. After 30 to 35 minutes, the recycled and molten aluminum flows, silvery and shiny, into the mold. Half a day is necessary to be able to handle a cooled ingot. After lithification, samples are presented for chemical analysis. "We can adapt the recycling recipe according to the sectors targeted as customers. We can indeed find iron or zinc in our recycled aluminum, metals that affect the properties of materials, their applications and their quality. Packaging aluminum is quite pure because it does not need other elements to provide mechanical properties, unlike that used to make frames or within the automotive and aeronautical industry. So, in the recycled version, we get very good aluminum. "
Who are the potential customers of recycled aluminum? "We have developed a cooking recipe which makes it possible to target special markets: foundries, the steel industry, a large consumer of aluminum to make calmed steels[4], the cosmetics, pharmaceutical and agrifood industries", details Christian Marique. "And we have other ideas, which are still in an exploratory state. With additive manufacturing[5] which is developing, but what still is very expensive today are the powders of the metals it uses. We could use our aluminum as a metallic powder, after an automation effort. It would be less expensive. New outlets are there. "
There remains a problem to be solved if we want to launch an industrial recycling sector: the collection of this type of waste upstream. "The public authorities will have to organize additional sorting from individuals and collection. If manufacturers are not sure of having all the necessary material, they will not invest in this project", concludes Christian Marique.

Highborne Artifacts - Archaeology Items
Coin from Eldre’Thalas
“Once a Highborne capital, the city of Queen Azshara’s arcanists fell into decay and ultimately depravity following the Great Sundering. The ruin is now known as Dire Maul.”
Crown Jewels of Suramar
“This crown once adorned the brow of Mavrana Mooncrest. It conveyed an incredible amount of arcane power, allowing her to achieve nearly-limitless mastery over the magical arts. During the War of the Ancients, the crown was stolen by rival nobles, and its precious jewels were removed and sold. It was eventually recovered, but without the Jewels of Aellis which gave it such potency. To this day, the jewels remain lost” [Object: Crown of Mavrana Mooncrest].
“The ruling princes and princesses in Suramar chose only to wear their crowns at the most formal events. They were kept locked up at all other times and were considered unstylish.”
Highborne Pyxis
“This is a small box of delicate ceramic, probably used to store cosmetics, jewelry or other small items belonging to a Highborne lady. The clasp is of silver and fashioned to look like two acorns and a holly leaf.”
Highborne Soul Mirror
“While the glass has been shattered into a thousand fragments, the detailed work of the mirror’s frame itself convinces you that this artifact was once highly magical, and might still be if every piece could be recovered. It is a large mirror, like a lady might have mounted in her dressing room.”
“Before the Great Sundering, the Highborne were known among the night elves for their arrogance, avarice, and outlandish clothing. It was said that nothing was so pleasing to the gaze of the Highborne as themselves. These mirrors were created so that elven ladies could see their colorful garments in three full dimensions, yet the reflection often exaggerated the already depraved visage of the viewer.”
Inert Leystone Charm
“Many Highborne superstitiously carried bits of leystone as a lucky charm. Such charms were typically worn by rural farmers, struggling academy students, or those sitting on the cusp between commonfolk and nobility.”
Nobleman’s Letter Opener
“As is always the case with letter openers, this is a completely useless tool, kept only as an excuse to have a murder weapon nearby in situations where it would be socially unwise to carry a dagger.”
Pre-War Highborne Tapestry
“Tapestries woven before the time of Queen Azshara’s pact with the demons typically display a unique ‘under-over-over’ style of needlework that has not been seen since.”
Queen Azshara’s Dressing Gown
“That Azshara was the most beautiful of night elves is practically regarded as fact. Unfortunately, her own eye for beauty seems to have been as limited as that of many of her brethren, at least judging from the garish colors of this gown.”
Quietwine Vial
“Quietwine was an ancient Highborne term that simply meant ‘poison’. Ironically, after ten thousand years in the ground, the substance typically loses its lethality and becomes a mild intoxicant.”
Starlight Beacon
“This handheld device was used by star-augurs to focus immense amounts of starlight into a small, concentrated area. The device was mainly used during festivals, star-worship rituals, or when the augur needed to reach something on a high shelf.”
Violetglass Vessel
“The Highborne’s penchant for all things purple predates the War of the Ancients. Glass bowls were fairly common, and used to hold anything from grain to gold ingots.”

What are your favourite mods? (and explanation what they do would be good too :P)
Ah okie! I have so many favorite mods, but I’ll try to narrow it down!:
The Betweenlands: An absolutely magical mod tbh, it adds a dimension called The Betweenlands which is filled with marshy, swamp-like biomes with tons - and I mean tons - of different mushrooms, plants, trees, fungi. etc.! There are different structures and ‘bosses’ that spawn in the biomes at random, and in the sky there are sometimes events that happen. Like auroras, which are beautiful glowing rays of lights, which can be an array of different colors - there are also Rifts, which are giants holes/tears in the sky which show the overworld’s sky peeking into the Betweenlands dimension. Honestly the best dimension-adding mod I’ve ever used, and it’s still being worked on, which is always good!
Biomes ‘O Plenty: A Minecraft mod staple, going strong for years; it adds a bunch of beautiful different biomes each with their own types of trees, floral and sometimes fauna, I try to always use it in whatever modded world I’m playing. Some biomes are Maple Woods, Lavender Fields, Mystic Grove, and Fungi Forest! But there are so many more - and the mod adds a config file so that you can disable any ones that you don’t want to generate. Very handy!
Metallurgy (or Metallurgy 4:Reforged, for version 1.12.2): This mod adds different kinds of ores to the Overworld, Nether, and The End, which you can smelt into ingots - some of them you can alloy together to create new, stronger metals to make tools/armor/weapons out of! It’s a good addition to the average vanilla toolset, and each metal/ore is unique and has its own strength, some are weaker than others so you can keep moving up in quality!
Twilight Forest: Another dimension mod which adds the Twilight Forest dimension; like The Betweenlands, it has bosses and different biomes, but in order to enter some biomes, you must have killed a certain boss and retrieved its trophy. So the first boss is the Naga, and once you have the Naga trophy, you can enter a Lich Tower, which is the next boss! This dimension is very tiered, so having the correct trophies is essential to progression inside of it. Also, true to its name, there is no day or night in here, only Twilight. Oh, one other great thing: this dimension has fireflies, which you can jar and use as a light source!
Decocraft, Chinjufu Mod, and Fairy Lights: All three of these mods add cosmetic aspects to the game; Decocraft has possibly hundreds of different models to decorate your base/build (tables, dolls, beds, barrels, etc.) and I’ve been using it for quite a while; Chinjufu mod adds lots of Japanese models and items, including Yukata and traditional masks you can wear, it also adds a few tree types, as well as food and may other things; Fairy Lights is a new favorite of mine, with which you can string different kinds of lights together and hang them from one block to another, much like Christmas lights. You can customize what shaped lights you want and what colors as well!
And here are some small little mods that don’t really add a bunch of content to the game, but make it easier to play and add things that are very useful:
Iron Chests: Adds different tiered chests (iron, gold, diamond, etc.) which, as you go up in quality, have more and more inventory space inside them. Really useful for storing a lot of stuff.
NEI 1.8+/JEI (Not Enough Items 1.8+/Just Enough Items): Inventory mods which let you look up recipes and items or blocks in your inventory menu; in my opinion, these mods are essential to a modded survival world. These mods also require CodeChickenLib 1.8+ to function.
Inventory Tweaks: Adds some buttons in your inventory and chests to automatically sort them by different categories; very handy for keeping everything organized.
HWYLA (Here’s What You’re Looking At): Adds a little gui in the upper middle part of your screen which tells you the name of the block/entity you’re pointing at, very good for identifying something when you don’t actually want to break or harvest it.
Voxelmap: Adds a minimap to whichever corner of the screen you want; it also adds waypoints, points you can create wherever you currently stand which will show up on your map as marked, making travelling easier since you don’t have to memorize landmarks or coordinates. This mod requires Liteloader to function, it’s a bit complicated but I can help if you need it.
Optifine: Absolutely required if you’re going to be using multiple mods; it increases FPS and Minecraft’s performance, and adds tons of options in the Video Settings menu so you can fiddle with different settings that might change your game’s appearance/speed, like turning fog on/off or changing your view distance.
I hope these helped!

The man ran a special type of illegal business. He provided a service that many have wanted but few have been able to… well, afford. He could make you disappear, forever, and give you a new identity. A sweet deal.
Basic package would go for the value of a gold ingot, and include all documentation, backstories, and transportation to your temporary rental home (included).
The Deluxe Package was way steeper in price. 3 to 5 gold ingots in value, depending on some options. Everything from Basic plus clean deep background check guarantee, cosmetic surgery, fingerprint modification surgery, an already established company and several employees who never knew their boss but “somehow you look like him”.
After the client had finished choosing their options, the man would set a date and several instructions to begin the “disappearance” process. The client would always have to take several buses for a few hours then walk in a specific direction until someone picked them up.
The deal would be closed upon arrival, when the client would pay the fee (a large portion in cash, the rest via varying methods) and finally receive instructions for the final steps.
…
“A nice service” a client told the man once. “An even better business”, the man replied, as he hit the ignition switch that would vaporize the client without a trace. “A gooooooooooood business.”

In case you noticed, here’s Ollie’s amulet. He’s been wearing it since he could do so comfortably. Macabre and I had this forged for him not long after he was born.
We were brainstorming a potential gift for Ollie, and Macabre and I eventually settled on an amulet. Macabre and I both have jade green as a favorite color, so we decided to include heavenly jade as the insert as a reminder of us. I could get that very easily. Macabre then had an idea; use infernal silver for the rest of the amulet.
His reasoning was that since Ollie is a Celestial-Infernal hybrid, the amulet should also reflect that. Apparently Macabre was able to sneak back into Hell and bribed a silver smelter for some ingots. Had no clue Hell had an economy to begin with. Learn something new everyday.
Anyway, with the materials, we approached a mutual friend, Nikolai, to forge the amulet. I’ll have to introduce him later. He needed Macabre’s ability for Hellfire to make it, but this was the end result.
While it can be detected as both a Celestial and Infernal artifact, it has no power or abilities to speak of, so purely cosmetic. Macabre wanted Ollie to know that despite the origins of the materials, it can still be made beautiful depending on choices made, and the same applies to Ollie.

When I first got into this business gold was selling for around $300 an ounce. Gold went as high as $1900 an ounce and today gold is selling for over $1,200 an ounce and experts forecast it to go higher – much higher! I have seen forecasts by reliable writers that Gold could reach as high as $5000 an ounce in coming years.
The United States is the largest jewelry market in the world and millions of Americans have old, broken or just out-of-fashion pieces of jewelry sitting in their jewelry boxes. Just last week my wife came across a single 18K gold erring. She lost the other earring in the set about ten years ago and the remaining earring has just been sitting in her jewelry box since then. I put the earring on my gold scale and it weighed 8 grams. At today’s prices that one earring was worth over $300 –which is more than she paid for the pair ten years ago.
There is literally a fortune in gold –billions of dollars worth, sitting around collecting dust. But the high price of gold today is bringing it out of the woodwork. And all you have to do to get your piece of the pie is to ask.
You might be wondering how long this business can last. I recently spoke with the owner of a large gold refining company and I asked him how long this business could continue. He said:
“Every year all the refining companies in the US combined refine less than one percent of all the scrap gold jewelry in the country. And new jewelry sales grow over five percent a year. So there is pretty much an endless supply. We have been in this business for 33 years and we expect to be doing this for at least another 33 years.”
How much can I make buying gold?
Unscrupulous gold dealers like the ones that advertise on radio and TV ask you to mail your gold in to them. They typically pay between 10% and 20% of the value of gold. Most pawnshops pay about 30% to 35%.
Legitimate dealers pay between 40% and 65%. 40% to 65% may seem low to you, but remember, the gold you buy has to be smelted, refined, assayed and poured into ingots before it can be resold. Refiners who do this will pay you between 85% and 92% of the spot price of gold.
Lets look at a typical sale. The average person tends to bring in three or four items that altogether weigh about 2 ounces. Most items people bring me are 14K gold which is 58% pure gold and the rest is alloys to lend gold its color and hardness.
Two ounces at 58% works out to 1.16 ounces of pure gold. Lets say for example you pay that person 50%, which is typical of most legitimate gold dealers. At $1400 an ounce, that comes out to $812. Now you send the gold to a refiner who will pay you 95% of the spot price. I will let you do the math, but this works out to a very nice profit from just one transaction. Many experts predict that gold will go as high as $5000 an ounce. I don’t know if that will happen, but imagine how profitable this business will be if it does.
Do that 3 or 4 times a week and you are looking at some real money! And it’s 100% legal.
Skip McGrath’s book on gold buying is amazing. He also has extremely good one on one support. He cares about his customers. Thanks Skip! ~ Michael
Where do you find people with Gold to sell?
I live in a small town of about 12,000 people. I was driving to the supermarket on a recent Saturday and saw several signs that said: “Cash for Gold and Silver Today at the Majestic Hotel.” After I left the market, I drove over to the Majestic Hotel to see what was going on.
There was a gentleman in one of the meeting rooms off of the lobby with a table, a scale and calculator and a cash box. He was meeting with a lady while two more people waited their turn. I didn’t want to bother him, but the lady who works at the reception desk is a friend of mine, so I asked her how he was doing. She told me he has had a steady stream of customers all day. Imagine if each person brought in just one ounce of gold and he saw 20 or 30 people that day. That is a huge amount of money
There are two factors driving the gold business today:
A recovering, but still tough economy with millions of people out of work
Relatively high prices for gold and silver
The gold business has always been a good business, but nothing like it has been since 2008 when gold prices started rising as the economy began the downturn. These two facts have combined to bring millions of people out of the woodwork with gold to sell. Either they need cash, or they just want to take advantage of today’s high prices.
It is very easy to find these people. You can set up in a hotel room like the person in the example above. You can advertise in local papers or even on radio. You can also advertise for free on sites such as Craigslist. Another popular method is using door hangars. You can get them made for about 2-cents each and hire school kids to hang them for you. But none of these methods work as well as one simple, low cost advertising method I am going to show you in one of your free bonuses.
Do you like to travel? A couple of years ago I met an older gentleman and his wife who roam the country in an RV, buying gold at every town they stop in. They even have a sign on the side of their RV that they buy gold and people come up to them in the RV parks.
Gold Parties are a booming business
One of the things I show you how to do with my system is throw gold parties. You have all heard of home parties for Tupperware, cosmetics or cooking gadgets. Well at those parties people spend money. When people attend a gold party they make money! If you can get 10 people to a gold party you can buy several ounces of gold, -potential profit of up to 45% on each ounce And the hostess, who put on the party, will get 10% of what you make. Now that’s what I call a “win-win.”
My system includes complete instructions on hosting a gold party of your own and how to market gold parties to others. Besides the instructions I have also included flyers, brochures, ads and invitations. All of these are in simple Word docs, so all you have to do is add your contact information an
