HC: Dance
Tumblr media
Among the various things involving humans that Alkebu-lan has taken a liking to study in particular besides medical subjects, food and travel is dancing. This has a more personal tie with her, as the country she originated from was a land known for its people of rhythm.
Because of this Alkebu-lan tends to favor older dances such as the Zulu ingoma, zaouli, or even the kumpo. However thanks to her human friend Maya providing her with a phone, hidden baboon has gotten into the habit of studying more modern moves. She enjoys the gwara gwara, and some hip hop. Though recently her favorite has become the capoeria, due to the fact that it combines martial arts with dancing and also has a rich history behind it.
While Alkebu-lan bringing herself to perform such feats in public is rare, especially these days, she has formed the habit of practicing new dances in private. Since acquiring her phone, she often records herself dancing to compare it with more professional works to see what can be corrected or learnt. Even when she lived on Flower Fruit Mountain and the others reveled in celebration though, her participation was very little.
The only two scenarios I can see her performing in public would be doing it as a distraction, or for educational purposes. Think like Aang in the last air-bender, when he taught the fire nation kids how to bust a move. Other then that, it is very unlikely that she will show you her own.

The Ingoma Sustainable Fashion Collection: Technological Innovations for Revolutionary Sustainability
The Ingoma Sustainable Fashion Collection is a groundbreaking endeavor that pushes the boundaries of sustainable fashion through the integration of cutting-edge technologies. This collection not only showcases exquisite Ndebele-inspired designs but also incorporates innovative techniques and materials to revolutionize the industry's approach to sustainability.
Smart Fabrics and Textiles: The Ingoma collection utilizes advanced smart fabrics and textiles that are engineered to be environmentally friendly and socially responsible. These fabrics are created using state-of-the-art techniques such as 3D printing, biofabrication, and nanotechnology. They are made from sustainable and biodegradable materials, such as recycled fibers, organic cotton, and plant-based alternatives, reducing the environmental impact associated with traditional textile production.
Digital Fabrication and Customization: The collection embraces digital fabrication technologies, including computer-aided design (CAD) and 3D printing, to enable precise customization and minimize waste. Each garment is meticulously designed using CAD software, allowing for intricate patterns and detailing inspired by Ndebele art. The use of 3D printing enables the creation of complex and unique structures, reducing the need for traditional sewing techniques and minimizing material waste.
Sustainable Dyeing and Printing: The Ingoma collection employs innovative and eco-friendly dyeing and printing methods. Traditional dyeing processes often involve harmful chemicals and excessive water usage, contributing to pollution and resource depletion. In contrast, this collection incorporates natural dyeing techniques, such as plant-based pigments and organic colorants, to achieve vibrant and long-lasting colors while minimizing environmental impact. Additionally, digital printing technologies are utilized, which reduce water consumption and allow for intricate and customizable prints without the need for excess fabric.
Wearable Technology: The Ingoma collection seamlessly integrates wearable technology into its designs, enhancing both functionality and sustainability. This includes incorporating energy-efficient sensors and microprocessors that monitor vital signs, environmental factors, and garment usage. These technologies can provide real-time data on wearer comfort, environmental impact, and garment lifespan. By leveraging this information, consumers can make informed choices about their fashion choices and ensure the longevity and sustainability of their garments.
Circular Design Principles: The Ingoma collection embraces the principles of circular design, aiming to minimize waste and extend the lifespan of each garment. This is achieved through modular designs that allow for easy repairs, alterations, and recycling. The collection promotes a mindset of reusability, encouraging customers to return their garments for recycling or repurposing once they are no longer in use. This closed-loop system reduces the demand for new materials and minimizes the environmental footprint of the fashion industry.
The Ingoma Sustainable Fashion Collection is a true revolution in the fashion world, leveraging technological advancements to address the environmental and social challenges associated with the industry. By incorporating smart fabrics, digital fabrication, sustainable dyeing and printing, wearable technology, and circular design principles, this collection sets a new standard for sustainable fashion. It showcases the possibilities of combining Ndebele-inspired aesthetics with state-of-the-art technologies to create visually stunning, culturally rich, and environmentally conscious garments that redefine the fashion industry's approach to sustainability.
The Ingoma Sustainable Fashion Collection: Aesthetics and Engineering for Revolutionary Style
The aesthetic design of the Ingoma Sustainable Fashion Collection is a seamless fusion of traditional Ndebele elements and futuristic aesthetics, creating a visually captivating and culturally rich experience. The garments feature bold geometric patterns inspired by Ndebele mural art, which are intricately woven into the fabric using advanced digital weaving techniques. The colors are vibrant and dynamic, paying homage to the vibrant hues of Ndebele culture.
The engineering behind the Ingoma collection is driven by a groundbreaking combination of cutting-edge technologies that have never been seen before in the fashion industry. Here are some key aspects:
Digital Weaving and Customization: The collection employs digital weaving techniques, where patterns are precisely programmed into the loom's computer system. This allows for intricate and customizable designs, ensuring each garment is unique and tailored to the wearer's preferences. The process combines traditional handcraftsmanship with digital precision, resulting in stunning textiles that embody the essence of Ndebele art.
Sustainable Materials: The collection utilizes a range of sustainable materials that not only offer environmental benefits but also contribute to the overall aesthetic appeal. For instance, fabrics made from organic cotton, hemp, and bamboo fibers provide a soft and luxurious feel while reducing the ecological impact. Additionally, innovative plant-based alternatives and bioengineered materials are incorporated to enhance durability, drape, and texture.
Shape-Memory Materials: One of the revolutionary elements of the Ingoma collection lies in the use of shape-memory materials. These advanced textiles can change their shape and form in response to external stimuli such as heat, light, or moisture. This allows the garments to adapt and transform, offering versatile styling options and a truly dynamic fashion experience. Through the integration of shape-memory materials, the collection blurs the boundaries between art, technology, and fashion.
Haptic Feedback and Sensory Integration: The engineering of the Ingoma collection also incorporates haptic feedback and sensory integration technologies. Microscopic sensors embedded within the fabric detect and respond to various stimuli, providing wearers with subtle vibrations or textures that enhance their sensory experience. This sensory integration creates a deeper connection between the wearer and the garment, offering a truly immersive and engaging fashion experience.
Intelligent Climate Control: To ensure optimal comfort in any climate, the Ingoma collection integrates intelligent climate control systems within the fabric itself. Advanced microclimate sensors monitor the wearer's body temperature, humidity levels, and ambient conditions. The fabric then responds by adjusting its breathability, moisture-wicking properties, and insulation capabilities, ensuring optimal comfort and temperature regulation throughout the day.
The aesthetics of the Ingoma Sustainable Fashion Collection marry traditional Ndebele artistry with futuristic elements, creating garments that are visually striking, culturally significant, and technologically advanced. The engineering marvels behind the collection utilize digital weaving, sustainable materials, shape-memory textiles, haptic feedback, and intelligent climate control to redefine the boundaries of fashion. The result is a collection that celebrates the heritage of the Ndebele people while pushing the boundaries of sustainable fashion and technological innovation.

▪︎ Trish Waboraro
Trish Waboraro, who is an Author of four books, 'Worship Leader Manual Vol 1 & 2, Broken and Her Articles. She is also running an initiative called Sound of Worship under her Brand, Trish Waboraro, this initiative encompasses her as being Worship Coach, Motivational Speaker, events host, presenter and an MC or director of ceremonies.
KhulumaAfrika has celebrated her recent visit to South Africa by having an exclusive conversation with her.
"I am exceedingly grateful that things are going exceptionally well, I am witnessing growth and expansion", she pointed out.
Trish Waboraro, who is from Gaborone, Botswana has recently visited South Africa, Johannesburg. She has been here to attend the 09th Independent National Gospel Music Awards (INGOMA), one of the biggest South African Gospel Music Annual Events.
She was invited as a Presenter of two categories which are the Best Gospel Producer and the Best Engineer.
"For me this was such a phenomenal experience. It gave me an opportunity to step outside of my comfort zone and just to grow beyond my country's experience. That was always my aim and my prayer, to grow until I get noticed by the neighboring countries. Especially countries like South Africa", emphasized Trish.
According to Trish, Botswana consumes a huge amount of content, inspiration and exposure from South Africa. So for her it was quite a privilege to be a part of such a phenomenal and big event.
Asking her the source of her energy and inspiration to always excel in what she does, she told us that, "Every servant needs to have a source. My own source of Inspiration is God. Because now I am a resource to other people, I am pouring out to other people, so it's very important to find myself in a place where I can sufficiently drink so that I will be able to pour out into that capacity or a potential that I suppose to be pouring into".
Trish also revealed a number of important principles and lessons she has learnt from her personal journey with the Lord,
"I've learnt to build value in myself by having a strong and healthy relationship with God. That is nourishing me and opening me up to learn more. His relationship with me is keep pouring into me and constantly filling me up. That relationship is only built through prayer and by His Word.
I have also learned to keep my Brand relevant, whereby if somebody else looks at it, he or she would want to be associated with it, and also be sure that I am bringing value just by the way he sees how I am carrying out my brand and how I am representing it".
Trish has admitted that besides all the lessons and the experiences from what she has accomplished thus far in her journey, she still learning so much from others.
"When I get to interact with people that are doing things in a bigger magnitude, I definitely learn a lot from them. I know that we can do the same thing but I also know that visions and missions can be different about it, so there is so much learn from that difference".
"I am always getting inspired by other people working on their visions. I am, also highly motivated by a top level of organisation and excellence.
I, myself am always striving to reach and attain that level of excellence from others".
Trish believes that being noticed by people from far and wide beyond Botswana, is a sign of growth and exposure for her. It encourages her to continue working hard. And she's very grateful for the opportunities that keep opening up for her.
Trish has also acknowledged those who recognize her efforts by recommending and endorsing her name to the bigger platforms and opportunities. She believes that as much as the enemy can use someone to close the door for her, God also uses people to open up the doors for her too.
So coming to South Africa, has opened up more doors and opportunities for Trish.
Talking to Trish has revealed her many talents and her ability to use them all, effectively.
Trish has cofirmed that she doesn't believe that God can give her only one talent.
She believes in sitting down and dissecting herself in order to discover more about herself.
"As one person but having different body limbs and parts, all working together differently, but still in one person. So are the talents and gifts that God has given to me, they can work together just as good", she illustrated.
Trish may be involved in a number of different initiatives, but Worship is mainly what her life representing. According to her, that is one thing that all other things that she is doing are flowing from. Her biggest desire is to see herself on international platforms representing Worship. She believes that it is the only thing that people were created for. Among all her wishes, she wishes infiltrate the Gospel industry, not just as a singer, but also to transform it into what God wants it to be. She's also wishing to see Gospel artists being trained in Worship, so that the business of music and Worship ministry can be incorporated in one person. She believes that there should be a balance of these.
Trish is open to invitation by anyone in any country,
"I am available, I do believe that I've covered enough milage in Botswana, it's time for South Africa to make that call to say 'we love what you have and we also need it", concluding Trish.
