#Ingo probably hasn’t consciously thought of it in a long time

Given how small Phione Akari is, I‘m wondering if there is a certain familiarity in her hiding somewhere on him.

I‘m sure he often had one or the other Joltik crawling on him as well in Unova. It’s usually a little frustrating and he always used to scold Emmet to better watch his hatchlings but it’s something kinda familiar finding Akari in certain places in his coat.

If it’s not random Joltiks I can also see a certain familiarity between his Starter Pokemon crawling around him. The feeling is very different (going by the Litwick idea its warm and waxy instead of a wet balloon) But imagine how he feels a certain nostalgia having her on his person. But given the circumstances he has in the beginning how he’s still worried about Akari he might suppress the memories.

OHH I HADN’T THOUGHT OF THAT! For anyone that’s stuck with this blog long enough, I have entertained thoughts on how Ingo views Emmet’s possible joltik breeding tendencies before. Sometimes they would get a little out of hand and Ingo would find the newly-hatched joltiks in places around their apartment that they shouldn’t be, including probably on himself and his pokemon.

He would not be unfamiliar with the feeling of something on him, but phione are not staticky, and joltik are not damp (and Akari sticks around his shoulders mostly, compared to an excitable baby joltik that does everything it can to stay out of reach haha), so it would be a little different and he probably would not be able to make a connection at first, like you said. But it’s an interesting thought!!
