✿.。.:* ☆:**:. going to a relatives wedding south asian ver. - w/Sukuna .:**:.☆*.:。.✿
pairing: Sukuna x desi reader
Sukuna hasn't been to a lot of weddings, so the amount of confusion on his face is almost laughable when he sees how excited you are for your cousin's wedding.
However, he adores the way your eyes light up and how excited you get when you explain to him that desi weddings are filled with dancing and food and lots of people!
Sukuna's eyes go full blown with astonishment as you stride out of your room, wearing a red lehenga adorned with a garland in your hair and beautiful gold bangles clinking at your wrists. He can't help but lean back and stare at you, a faint smirk playing on his face as you brush by him; rushing to get your sandals.
He grabs you by the waist, holding you firmly as you walk past him. He whispers in your ear "Look at you, my darling girl..dressed like the Queen she is." His arms trail down to your wrists and he grasps them "You look as if you were made to sit on a throne" he purrs, slowly lowering yourself on his lap.
"-S-sukh" you managed to choke out your affectionate nickname for him. "I-i need my shoes.."
"Sweet girl" he murmurs. He grabs your face from behind, squeezing your cheeks and making your lips pucker. "The princess needs her shoes does she?" "Actually" you answer him, smirking slightly while looking deep into his eyes. "The Queen demands that her King put her shoes on for her." He laughs loudly, finding your demands amusing, adorable almost. Notheless, he obeys; kissing your henna covered hand and looking up at you. "Very well my queen"
The two of you arrive at your cousin's wedding, around the time of the reception. Sukuna decided to wear a red kurta as he said, "It would only be right to match with my queen." making you scoff yet blush at his act. Dark kajal surrounds his eyes complementing his magnificent dark red irises.
The reception lasts late into the night. Sukuna tastes Indian food for the first time, which he actually loves! He loves the spicy taste, not a single boring feeling on his tongue.
You force Sukuna to try gulab jamun. Begging and tugging at his sleeve. "Please 'kuna! Please it's so yummy!" you look up at him, batting your eyes, and looking at him with desperation; trying every trick in the book to make your boyfriend try the sticky sweet.
You bring the spoon to his lips, the sticky residue slightly coating his lips. He brings his mouth over the spoon, not breaking eye contact with you as he licks the sticky honey from his lips. "It tastes just like you" he breathed.
You smacked his shoulder for saying that, as a group of aunties were sitting right behind you.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The moment finally comes, when they finally announce that it's the time to dance! You whoop and cheer along with the others as hoards of your cousins, uncles and aunties all rush to the dance floor.
You drag Sukuna to the floor with you. Laughing and giggling as your favorite song starts to play. "Dance with me!" you shout over the noise. "aao naachen!"
It gets messy real fast. Your shoes are kicked off in some random area, your dupata slid off your neck a while ago and pooled to the floor. You can feel Sukuna's firm hands on your hips as you move them up and down. His eyes watch intently as you spin around him, your red lehenga flowing just grazing your ankles, as your feet move in perfect coordination with your body.
To Sukuna, you looked just like a flower in the wind. Delicate, yet fierce and swaying with the wind. He turned his body to watch you spin, watching the pure bliss on your face and the excitement that came with it.
He grabbed you hand suddenly, disrupting your spin and causing you to be thrown into his chest as he caught you by the small of your back. "You really are a Queen my sweet girl." he whispered. His arms snake around your waist and pull you closer.
"Hmm am I now?" you smirked and slowly started to sway with him. "mm, not only that but a little minx too" he muttered, kissing your neck making you shiver in response. "You love it though." you retort, circling your arms around his shoulders playing with the back of his hair. He throws his head back, chuckling lightly. "You know I do."
sry ya'll I know that was really long but honestly I was debating if I should write a story or do more head cannons. (I'll probably do a poll abt it). constructive criticism is always welcome in the comments, i love to hear about ways to improve my writing!
Traditional South Indian Wedding w/Argenti
Listening to Ranjithame on repeat so I had to write something (with Argenti, naturally). This is basically what I daydream about when the song is playing. (OOC Argenti but that's standard with me ok? I love him in ways you cannot comprehend)
Imagine Argenti stumbling upon a really grand wedding ceremony and deciding to stick around, the people there are really welcoming too so who's he to complain? He's just walking around admiring the various decorations (especially the flower displays) when you stumble upon him. It was love at first sight, you were smitten as soon as your eyes met. To think you'd meet someone this beautiful during a wedding no less, surely this was a sign that yours was next.
Imagine flirting with Argenti throughout the rehearsal dinner but he keeps playfully dodging your advances, never actually rejecting you but not giving you a proper lead either.
Imagine the groom gets up to sing a song for the bride but you hijack the mic and start sing that exact same song but to Argenti. He's unaware at first but with the odd looks he's been getting and the angry groom chasing after you for the mic he notices pretty quickly. He's just amused you'd go this far for him and gladly accepts the shower of various flowers you pluck and throw at him from the giant pillars in the hall while being followed by an angry mob.
You're lucky the bride is your friend or you would've been kicked out long ago lol
Also !!
Imagine having a really traditional South Indian wedding with Argenti. Especially doing things like mehendi night (fully covering your arms and legs) and sangeeth ceremony (where you get to see everyone who isn't married perform a dance, you two might even join in towards the end). Even some of the lesser practiced traditions like swapping garlands and sitting on a swing covered in flowers while the guests feed you (fruit and milk). Can't forget aarti and stepping into your new home together right foot first!
Imagine entering your room to be greeted by a bed covered in rose petals and two cups of warm milk by the bedside table(it's there to set the mood ;)) but you're both so tired from the past three days that you end up just drinking the milk then falling asleep in each other's arms 💤
a/n: I'm usually averse to traditional marriages but for Argenti? Anything
#honkai star rail#hsr argenti#hsr#argenti x reader#hsr headcanons#argenti#unhealthy obsession with pixels... you can tell bc of how much effort i put into that header#c00kie.writes#“One and Only” Queue
GtN Allusions: Page 8
Cavalier Absolutely should have done cavalier on page 7, but just didn't think of it. Middle French for horseman or knight, from the Latin for horse. Also means not caring enough about something important, like burning alive for ten thousand years.
Centurions Ancient roman infantry commander of units consisting of 100 (duh) or 80 (times is hard) legionaries. The centurion was responsible for disciplining other soldiers and also civilians, which I think Judith and Marta were clearly All About. Centurions carried a sword at their left side and a dagger at the right side. Centurions sometimes became lictors (which we'll get back to). Roman centurions had to be at least 30, literate, and experienced, and were expected to be strong, dexterous, skilled, and lorge.
There is a biblical story in the gospels of Matthew and Luke about a centurion who asks Jesus to heal his sick boyfriend-slave. It is usually not translated as boyfriend or slave but I've heard pretty compelling tell that the original very clearly refers to a slave that is also boyfriend. Jesus heals the boyfriend, and later the centurion is present at the crucifixion and attests to Jesus's divinity and/or innocence. This is painful for Corona reasons and also Teacher reasons, imo.
There is also a centurion called Julius who helps Paul go to Rome in the book of Acts.
Judith Deuteros Judith means "praised" and/or "Jewish woman." Judith was a brave and beautiful woman who was pissed at people for not trusting G-d enough. She, trusting G-d a frankly legendary amount, prays a lot and then goes into the enemy camp with her maid and casually beheads the Assyrian leader Holofernes. She takes the head back to her people and the Assyrians are like WOW I'm gonna go, so she's saved the day.
There are many excellent paintings of Judith slaying Holofernes but I am partial to this one by Artemisia Gentileschi because these women are gonna do what needs to be done.
An English play about this by Howard Barker has a scene called "The Unforeseen Consequences of a Patriotic Act" and if that isn't putting it mildly.
Deuteros is greek for the second or the other of two. This is a really interesting name to give the heir of the second rather than the cavalier, who should be the second of two. I think this could speak to Judith's inappropriate feelings for Marta, or of her devotion to Jod.
Marta Dyas Marta is a name derived from Aramaic, meaning "lady." There was also a 547 AD Battle of Marta in Tunisia involving a guy called John but it's a stretch. I feel strongly that I'm missing something here.
Dyas has so many interesting false positives that cannot possibly be related and I'm going to share some of them for fun. Dyas is an oil and gas company. Dyas was an 11th century Indian King. Dyas is a surname used in England and Ireland (there have been a couple athletes with this name). Dyas is also just related to the Greek for two of the same, a pair.
The Procession A procession is when a bunch of people walk together in a ceremonial or formal way and what a weird nickname for your house.
Processions were part of major religious festivals in classical Greece and Rome, especially in the cult of Dionysus and in the ritual of Triumph. This got adopted into early Christian practice and processions became associated with ritual performances of the crucifixion and resurrection and with everyday mass and things like weddings and funerals. I mean frankly what doesn't have a procession these days!! Processions were part of what Luther was mad about, and Luther would probably hate the Third so that's valid.
Coronabeth Tridentarius Corona means crown or garland, from Latin. It can refer to the sun's outer atmosphere, the part that's brilliant and shiny. COVID is called a coronavirus because its spike proteins form a corona or halo around the body of the virus, resembling the sun.
Beth is a Kiss song from 1976 from the album Destroyer. Oh Beth, what can I do? It's also a common shortform of Elizabeth, famously the name of two English queens who did some pretty memorable queening. Beth El is a Hebrew phrase meaning "house of G-d" in which beth is a transformation of beit, home.
Tridents are three-pronged fishing spears; the name comes from latin "three teeth." They are associated with Poseidon/Neptune in classical mythology. Poseidon was associated with the sea, storms, springs (water), earthquakes, and horses; Neptune was also associated with heaven.
-ari is a Latin suffix that makes nouns into names.
-ius is a Latin suffix that makes something an adjective indicating that the thing being described is "made of" or "belongs to" the noun.
Together tridentarius seems to be a construction that does The Trident People Name. Which basically does what it says on the tin.
Ianthe Tridentarius Ianthe means "purple flower" in Greek.
Once upon a time in Greek and Roman mythology there was a boy named Iphis who was secretly assigned female at birth but raised as a boy. When Iphis his dad arranges a marriage between Iphis (who he doesn't know is secretly, classically trans) and a girl named Ianthe. Iphis is SO in love with Ianthe. Iphis's mom tries to delay the wedding, but eventually the wedding was going to happen, so Iphis and the mom go to a temple to Isis to pray for help. Iphis is miraculously transformed and marries Ianthe and they live happily ever after.
Tridentarius is still The Trident People Name.
Naberius Tern Naberius is a demon. He is a Marquess of Hell, commanding many legions of demons. Naberius has the body of a three-headed dog or bird. He's a bit of a fop and is super talented at rhetoric and the arts and sciences. He speaks quietly. This is my favorite picture of him.
Stuff I found about Naberius the demon said he's the same as Cerberus the three-headed hell dog but I don't think this association goes both ways.
I was real confused at first about how tern functions as a house name for Babs. A tern is a sea bird. There's a lot of them. But the name doesn't mean three. Here's a black tern. I think it's pretty.
Etymonline says the name of a tern comes from Old Norse for "maid-servant" but etymonline also saved me, because the entry for ternary (threefold) mentions that a tern or terne is a dice throw with three dice or a prize in a lottery with three winning numbers. Why isn't this in the entry for tern!? Babs as the prize seems to be happening for a lot of GtN, and Babs as a throw of three dice works for me on a poetic level. I'm into this.
Isaac Tettares Isaac is the biblical son of Abraham and Sarah. Abraham was supposed to be the father of a great nation, but his wife Sarah was infertile for many years. When Abraham is A HUNDRED YEARS OLD, after decades of not being able to have a child together, Sarah has Isaac. He is personally promised to them by G-d. I absolutely cannot overstate how wanted and loved this child was. Then G-d instructs Abraham to sacrifice Isaac in place of a lamb, as a test of faith. Abraham takes Isaac up to the place where the sacrifice is to take place. He puts his son on the alter, trussed up like a sacrificial lamb. He raises a knife over his head. And G-d is like wow. WOW. Do not. Can you imagine. Good job, absolutely but wow do not, yikes. Thank you <3 and then they just go on with the rest of their lives as father and son?? But Sarah immediately dies. Sometimes it's said that someone told her what happened carelessly and she was scared to death. If you would like to listen to a short and heart-wrenching song about the binding of Isaac and its emotional aftermath, I recommend this one.
Tettares is an Anglicization of the Attic Greek word for four.
Jeannemary Chatur A Google search for "Jeannemary" returns exclusively TLT related results and I think TM may have made this name herself.
Jeanne is a French given name equivalent to Joan/Jane/Jean in English, and rooted in the Hebrew name Yochanan (also the source of John!) meaning "G-d is Gracious." I suspect that the reference here is to Jeanne d'Arc, who believed in G-d the absolute most.
Mary refers to roughly 1/5 of women in the bible and half of all queens.
Chatur is a name derived from Sanskrit. I wasn't able to find reliable information on its etymology.
Abigail Pent Abigail is a Hebrew name referring to a father's joy. The biblical Abigail was a prophetess and the wife of King David. She was wise and is described as one of the most beautiful women ever (Isaac's mother Sarah is one of the others).
Pent is a prefix referring to the Greek for five.
Magnus Quinn Magnus is "great" in Latin. A bunch of kings of Norway and Sweden have been called Magnus. There are also SEVEN saints called Magnus. The Magnus effect in physics describes lift that affects a spinning object moving through fluid. I don't know which if any of these is a reference.
Quinn gives me a liiiiittle trouble as a house name. Quinn is an Irish surname that's usually Catholic with two Ns and Protestant if only one N. Quint refers to a fifth, and quin refers to quintuplets. I find Quinn a stretch.
hi<3
okay just an idea but like hb a one shot of harry and yn having an Indian wedding??
I WOULD MELT
i mixed it up a bit! hope you don't mind but I added some dancing in between! hehe
words: 2.2k
warnings: cute fluff, alludes to smut!
The sound of jubilant music and joyous laughter filled the air as Y/N took Harry's hands in her own, gazing at him with all the love in her heart.
It was the day they had been dreaming of for what felt like an eternity - their beautiful Indian wedding celebration. After months of careful planning and preparation, it was finally time to declare their everlasting love and commitment in front of their closest family and friends.
As Y/N looked into Harry's bright green eyes, she felt herself getting choked up with happy tears. He was the most gorgeous sight she had ever seen in his ivory sherwani with delicate embroidery and a baby pink safa atop his unruly chestnut curls. A radiant smile lit up his entire face as he mouthed "I love you" to her.
Y/N hoped her own appearance took Harry's breath away just as much. She was draped in a stunning red and gold lengha with the most intricate designs she had ever seen. Golden jewelry adorned her neck, wrists and fingers, while a striking tikka rested on her forehead. After hours of professionalmehndi application, her hands and feet were works of art covered in the most beautiful henna patterns.
Their wedding mandap looked like it was straight out of a dream, covered in layers of vibrant red fabric and masses of exotic flowers. The entire venue was bursting with rich colors, from the ornate rugs underfoot to the twinkling strings of lights hanging overhead. Harry and Y/N had spent endless hours with the planners to ensure every last detail was absolutely perfect for commemorating this special day properly.
As the ceremonies began, they went through each traditional rite and ritual with profound reverence and care. When the time came to exchange floral varmala garlands, Harry could barely contain his boyish grin as he struggled slightly to get the hanging blooms around Y/N's neck. She laughed lightly as she did the same for him, feeling like her heart could burst with love and happiness in that moment.
The ceremonies paused briefly for the jaimala, a ritual where the couple tried to be the first to successfully garland each other. Amid a chorus of cheers from the guests, Y/N and Harry playfully danced around for several minutes, narrowly missing each other until finally Harry swept in and captured Y/N's neck with the floral necklace.
She gasped in delight as he pulled her in close, pressing their foreheads together tenderly. "I've got you forever now," he murmured, just for her to hear. Y/N felt herself melt at the warmth and adoration in his voice as she reached up to cradle his face in her hands.
"And I've got you," she whispered back reverently. "Always and forever."
Harry leaned in to capture her lips in a soft, lingering kiss, forgetting about their audience for a brief moment. A joyous howl went up from the guests that broke them apart with sheepish grins. Their loved ones had anxiously awaited this special union, and they were determined to savor every second of it.
The rest of the rituals and pheras passed by in a beautiful, colorful blur. Y/N felt herself getting choked up again as they took their sacred vows, promising to love, honor and cherish one another until their very last breaths. Harry gazed at her adoringly, stroking her cheek tenderly with his thumb as they repeated the powerful words.
"You are my soulmate, my partner, my everything," he said throatily, his eyes shining with unshed tears of happiness. "Thank you for making me the luckiest man in the world by becoming my wife."
Unable to contain herself a moment longer, Y/N let a few tears slip free as she beamed at her new husband. She leaned up on her tiptoes to wind her arms around his neck, pulling him in close.
"There is no one else on this earth I would rather spend my life with than you," she said in a trembling voice thick with emotion. "I am so grateful to now be your wife, and to finally be able to call you my husband. I love you endlessly, Harry."
The tenderness of their embrace was only broken by the sound of loud cheers and clapping as their guests celebrated the joyous union. It was official - Harry and Y/N were finally married, bonded together for all of eternity.
As the ceremonies concluded, everyone made their way to the outdoor reception area where the real festivities could begin. Servers circulated with trays of delicious Indian delicacies, from vegetable samosas and pakoras to spicy curries and flaky, buttery naan bread. One of the first dances kicked off with Harry and Y/N taking center stage, all gazingadoringly at each other as they swayed to the romantic hindi music.
"My beautiful wife," Harry murmured in her ear as they slowly revolved on the dance floor. "I don't think I'll ever get tired of calling you that."
Y/N's face lit up in a bright smile as she gave him an eskimo kiss. "And I'll never get tired of being called your wife, my husband."
Eventually it was time for the grand sangeet celebration, filled with vibrant musical and dance performances from all of their loved ones. It brought tears of laughter and joy to Harry and Y/N's eyes as they watched silly skits, entertaining dances, and heartfelt songs dedicated to their everlasting love.
When their own performance came around, Y/N's heart was pounding in her chest with excited nerves. For months they had been secretly rehearsing an intricate choreographed dance routine to a romantic hindi mashup. As the first few notes of the song rang out, Y/N locked eyes with Harry, giving him a breathtaking smile. There was nowhere else she would rather be than on that dance floor with him, her husband, her forever love.
Harry smiled back like she had hung every star in the night sky, his eyes shining with pure adoration. Even after months together, Y/N's beauty and the depth of love she had for him still managed to take his breath away.
Their dance was utterly captivating and joyous, filled with playful movements and longing gazes as they spun and twisted around each other. At one particularly romantic section, Harry couldn't resist gathering Y/N up into his strong arms, dipping her low as she arched back in a graceful curve. They hovered like that, faces mere inches apart, both of them breathing heavily with beaming smiles.
"I love you so much," Harry mouthed to her fervently before pulling Y/N back up to crush his lips against hers in a heated, passionate kiss.
A roar of approval and applause sounded around them from their cheering guests. They didn't care one bit, choosing instead to lose themselves in their tender liplock for a few heated moments before finally pulling apart, dizzy and breathless with elation.
"And I love you eternally, my husband," Y/N whispered ardently, tracing the line of Harry's parted lips with the pad of her thumb.
The incredible night seemed to whirl by in an unstoppable blur of celebrating, feasting, singing and dancing after that. Every time Y/N locked eyes with Harry, she felt her heart overflow with the depths of her love and commitment for this incredible man that was now her spouse. His radiant smile and looks of pure adoration warmed her down to her very soul.
As the hours ticked by, Y/N felt herself growing weary but still riding cloud nine from the blissful events. Harry seemed to sense her fatigue, coming up behind her to wrap his arms around her waist and press a soft kiss to her temple.
"What do you say we get out of here, wife?" he murmured in a low rumble against her skin. "I've got plans for celebrating our new marriage in private…"
Y/N immediately felt a rush of heated desire course through her veins at his suggestive words and tone. She grinned and turned in his arms, pressing a sensual kiss to his parted lips.
"Whatever you say, husband," she replied huskily.
The two of them slipped away from the raging celebration largely unnoticed, both too eager to begin their new life together as spouses. Every second felt so surreal and dreamlike to Y/N, a real-life fairy tale come to life. She felt so incredibly blessed and overflowing with love.
Once they made it back to the privacy of their honeymoon suite, Harry effortlessly swept Y/N up into his arms like she weighed nothing. She let out a surprised giggle, winding her arms around his neck as he carried her over the threshold. His lips instantly crashed into hers in a searing kiss filled with fiery passion and overwhelming love.
They stumbled their way across the romantic suite, shedding clothes and flowers as they went, unable to get enough of each other. Whispered words of adoration and biblical devotion were exchanged between heated kisses and roaming caresses.
Finally, Harry laid Y/N down on the plush bed covered in fragrant rose petals, hovering over her in breathless awe. His talented fingers deftly undid the remaining jewels and ornaments adorning her body until just her beautiful bare skin remained.
"You are the most gorgeous creature I've ever laid eyes on," he rasped out, trailing reverent kisses along the delicate golden patterns of her mehndi. "My breath was taken away the second I saw you today."
Y/N felt a fresh wave of desire crash over her at his words, a soft whimper escaping her parted lips as his mouth continued worshipping every inch of her. She pulled him back up, crashing their lips together in a tangled dance of tongues and teeth while her nails raked deliciously down the taut muscles of his back.
"And you looked positively sinful, my love," she panted heavily between fevered kisses. "Like the most delectable dream come to life right before my eyes."
Harry growled low in the back of his throat, rolling them over until Y/N was straddling his hips. He looked up at her with hooded, lust-blown eyes, skimming his large palms reverently over the curves of her body.
"You're going to be the most beautiful sight to wake up to for the rest of my days," he said in a gravelly rumble.
Y/N could only whimper and capture his full lips in another bruising kiss as she rolled her hips wantonly against his nude form. The friction and delicious heat between them quickly became maddening with need. Soon they were joined together, moving in an ancient rhythm of love and desire.
All the emotions of the joyous day came pouring out in their lovemaking - the uncontainable happiness, the bone-deep reverence, the overwhelming passion, the profound intimacy. Harry and Y/N clung to each other like they were the only anchor in the raging sea, breathing celestial words of worship and forever into kiss-swollen mouths.
"Mine…my husband…my eternal love…" Y/N chanted like a prayer as her nails dug deliciously into the strong muscles of Harry's shoulders.
"My gorgeous wife," Harry groaned back in adoration, capturing her lips in a searing liplock as their arching bodies found blessed release and sublime rapture together.
The newlyweds laid spent and utterly sated in the tangled cocoon of the sheets afterward, both glowing with the afterglow of their sacred union.
"To have and to hold, for better or worse, for richer or poorer…" Harry murmured, reciting the marriage vows as he nuzzled his face into Y/N's neck, placing tender kisses along her fluttering pulse point. "In sickness and health…until death do us part."
Y/N turned her head, finding his mouth with her own to kiss him deeply and devotedly. "I am yours, and you are mine," she whispered the solemn promise against his parted lips. "From this day forward, until our souls leave this earth."
Harry let out a trembling exhalation at the powerful words, gathering his wife even closer to his body. He felt utterly undone and overwhelmed by the depths of his all-encompassing love for her. After years of searching, he had found his soulmate, his twin flame, his everything.
"I've never felt more complete, more whole, than I do in this very moment with you," he said in a hushed, reverential tone. "My love for you defies articulation, Y/N. You are my heart, my light, my forever."
Their mouths collided in a searing, all-encompassing liplock then, pouring every ounce of their overwhelming love and commitment into the heated embrace. In that singular, blissful moment, there was nothing else in the entire universe except the profound, everlasting truth of their fated union.
As the newlyweds eventually drifted off in a tangle of sated, sleepy limbs, Y/N felt like the luckiest woman in the world to call this incredible man her husband. And Harry felt like the most blessed man alive to have Y/N as his wife, bound together for eternity through their sacred vows and unbreakable love.
It’s true love indeed
Day 6 of @smileformeweek : Again
[ ID: Traditional fanart colored digitally. It is of the game Smile For Me and involves the wedding ceremony of Trencil Varnnia and Jimothan Botch. It is of my AU Roseverse.
Jimothan and Trencil are getting married. In my interpretation they are both Indian, Jim is from the South and Trencils from the North. They are doing the Varmala ceremony. The garlands are made of colors of red, green and white flowers.
Jimothan is wearing his traditional dress, that is, a yellowish-white shirt and dhoti with gold trim, along with a shawl with gold trim draped on his left side. He also has a golden chain. On in his head is the tripundram mark. Footwear is dark sandals with toe rings. Jimothan has many healed scars, burns and bite marks from raising a difficult baby such as his son, Parsley. His dusty brown hair is streaked with lighter colors as a sign of aging.
Trencil is wearing his traditional dress, that is, a red turban decorated with beads and pearls, and a peacock feather to top it off, he wears a dark blue sherwani with pink floral patterns on it plus a dark green shawl covering most of his right side with yellow, pink, blue floral and teal-leaved patterns. He wears red dhoti pants with rose-pink jutti shoes that have purple floral patterns. On his face, he wears gold eyeshadow with glitter near his eyes. He has some of women's elements in his jewellery, like the gold and white maang tikka, with a gemmed flower shape as centerpiece. He also wears a nath and earrings with gold, white, red, pink- with floral motifs. On his hands is floral dark-red henna. In appearance, Trencil looks more old and wrinkled, with red eyes and claws as nails. His ears are also very long and droopy like a bat's. His hair is naturally black as can be seen at the ends but rest of it is dyed dark blonde.
Jimothan and Trencil looks at each other lovingly with smiles. Jim reaches a hand out to put the garland on Trencil while Trencil holds his arm. With their other hand they both hold up a brightly colored umbrella decorated with gold strips at its point, and mirror pieces through the body. Flowers and grass, with small white balls hedge the bottom, from them hangs arrangements of roses and white flowers strung together. The interior of the umbrella is a light pink, covering Jim and Trencil.
From either side, two hands throw pastel flower petals on the newlyweds. The text below reads , first in Tamil, red, " Botch " then black " weds" in English, then dark green "Varnnia" in Hindi. So it is " Botch weds Varnnia". The background is a gradient of, from top to bottom, light yellow, green, blue, pink. The whole picture has a warmer, orange tone to it.end ID]
//
They're getting married...again!!!!
Trencils wife is probably dead? And Jimothan is divorced from his. So yeah this is both of their second marriage.
Here's the rough sketch I did beforehand of both their full outfits if anyone wants to see, some things changed in the final product
[ ID: Pencil sketch showing Jimothan and Trencil standing, forward facing in the clothes I've described above, with few changes. End ID]
Man... do you think Trencil, hid Jimothans name in his henna🤭
Oh! In case you didn't read the image description-- they're both Indian in my headcanon. GOOOO!!!
Honestly if you're confused about some details reading the image description will help.
I think this is legitimately one of my BEST drawings of 2024, holy shit, also THEME SONG
“Tar-Elendil, the fourth king, was succeeded by his son Tar-Meneldur, though his daughter Silmariën was the elder." - J.R.R. Tolkien, The Return of the King, footnote to "Appendix A: Annals of the Kings and Rulers" "Meneldur was the son of Tar-Elendil, the fourth King of Númenor. He was the King's third child, for he had two sisters, named Silmariën and Isilmë. The elder of these was wedded to Elatan of Andúnië and their son was Valandil, Lord of Andúnië, from whom came long after the lines of the Kings of Gondor and Arnor in Middle-earth. Meneldur was a man of gentle mood, without pride, whose exercise was rather in thought than in deeds of the body. . .All that he could gather of the lore of the Eldar and Edain concerning Eä and the deeps that lay about the Kingdom of Arda he studied, and his chief delight was in the watching of the stars." - J.R.R. Tolkien, Unfinished Tales, "Aldarion and Erendis: The Mariner's Wife"
Jake's and Sarina's wedding headcanons meme
Where they get married. Cathedral Park under St. John's Bridge in Portland Oregon.
When they get married. In autumn (late September) of 2021.
What traditions they include. They have a Christian and Hindu fusion wedding and find ways to blend traditions. Jake and Sarina have a bachelor and bachelorette party respectively. During Sarina's bachelorette party, she has the mehndi ceremony (adorning hands and feet with henna tattoo) with Cassandra, Eve, Nicole, and Estrella. Jai mala (exchanging jasmine flower garlands to wear) and the exchanging of the rings. The jai mala happens when Sarina reaches the end of the aisle. It's followed by the Hindu vows then the Christian vows and the ring exchange. And their friends toss rice at them at the end of the ceremony.
What their wedding cake looks like:
Who smashes the cake into who's face? Sarina smears a bite of cake on Jake's face. While she's laughing, he silences her with a kiss. Which gets cake on Sarina's face and they laugh.
Who proposed to who? Jake proposed to Sarina in the summer of 2020. It was morning and they were having breakfast. Jake made french press coffee (Sarina's favorite way to have coffee). The coffee was in a new mug that he bought for her just because. (Sarina collects novelty mugs). They do the daily crossword together and when Sarina reaches the bottom of her mug she sees "will you marry me?" written on the bottom. Jake gets down on one knee and with a ring and proposes.
Who walks down the aisle and who waits at the alter? Sarina walks down the aisle while Jake waits at the end of it.
What their wedding dress/suit/other looks like: Sarina wears a red bridal lehenga. The garment blends modern and traditional Indian aesthetics. Jake wears a black three piece with a bolo tie and a black cowboy hat.
What their color scheme is and what sort of decor they have. The color scheme is jewel toned and includes red, burgundy, orange, yellow, and forest green. They have a mandap set up on the deck for their alter. Lights, flowers, and foliage are strung up across the arches. There fall leaves and flowers on the stairs which serve as the aisle. The staircase is also lined with glass lanterns with candles inside.
What flowers are in the bouquet (what do the flowers mean?) The bouquet has red roses, purple waterlily dahlias, orange rank and yellow kalanchoe. Red roses symbolize love and passion. Purple dahlias are a symbol of grace, beauty, dignity, and kindness. Ranunculus flowers mean charm and attractiveness and kalanchoes mean persistence and eternal love. For added greenery, the bouquet has seeded eucalyptus, gumdrop eucalyptus, maidenhair fern (in orange), and leatherleaf fern. Eucalyptus is a symbol of strength, protection and abundance. And the fern is a symbol of sincerity, magic, fascination, confidence, shelter, discretion, reverie and a secret bond of love. Silk flowers are used and after the wedding, the bouquet becomes the center piece for the Stones' dining room table.
What their vows are. Saptapadi, the seven vows of Hindu marriage. Jake an Sarina walk seven circles around the fire in the mandap. While walking, they say the vows. 1) To nourish each other. 2) To remain lifelong friends. 3) To be together forever. 4) To take of family. 5) To share joys and sorrows. 6) To preserve wealth. 7) To grow together in strength. After the saptapadi, Jake and Sarina say the classic Christian wedding vows. "I, Jacob Stone, take you, Sarina Bhonsle, to be my wedded wife. . .till death do us part." "I, Sarina Bhonsle, take you, Jacob Stone, to be my wedded husband. . .till death do us part."
If anyone's late to the wedding. Flynn. Naturally.
Who's in the bridal party/groomsmen? It's a small ceremony. Most of the guests are the Library people. And the rest are a few family and friends Jacob and Sarina have outside of the Library. Because of this, they decide to not have a bridal party and groomsmen. Instead they just have a Best Person and a Person of Honor. Jacob asked Cassandra to be his Best Woman. Sarina asks Ezekiel to be her Man of Honor.
What their bridal party/groomsmen are wearing. Ezekiel wears a burgundy suit with a kurta shirt. Cassie wears an orange cowl neck gown. The color coordinates with Jake's orange ranunculus boutonniere.
Who gives speeches at the reception (bonus: what do they say?) Cassie and Ezekiel give speeches. As does Eve and Jenkins. Cass's speech is mostly about the good change she's seen in Jake since Sarina came into his life. Ezekiel ribs Jacob, basically saying that Sarina is too cool for Jake but wishes them a happy life together. Eve's speech is about officially welcoming Sarina into their weird found little family. Eve and Sarina later develop an inside joke that Eve is Sarina's Guardian-in-law. Jenkins congratulations the happy couple and makes a point to tell Jacob how proud he is of him.
Who catches the bouquet? Cassandra catches the bouquet. She then shares a knowing look with Estrella.
What their wedding photos look like. Photos of the newly weds were taken on the Cathedral Park staircase. As well as group photos with Ezekiel and Cassandra and photos with Flynn, Eve, Jenkins, and Nicole. There are also candid photos of the ceremony and the reception. Such as photos of the rice tossing and the cake smashing. Jacob and Sarina have a tri-fold frame of the cake smashing. First photo is of Sarina smashing cake into Jake's face. Second is of Jake kissing Sarina, getting cake on her face, and the third is of them laughing together.
What sort of food they have at the reception. Entrées: Mutton biryani and pork chops w/ fig & grape agrodolce. Appetizers: Bacon wrapped dates w/ goat cheese, potato skins, and amritsari paneer tikka. Side dishes: Masala mac & cheese, quinoa bhel salad, and tamale pie. Desserts: Cherry and apple fried pies, ras malai mousse and thandai truffles.
How wild their reception gets (who dances the best, who gets drunk first, etc.) Ezekiel is the best dancer. Some guests start a limbo contest which Jenkins wins and Flynn was a close second. Cassie gets drunk on champagne.
What their rings look like. Sarina's engagement ring & wedding band and Jake's wedding band.
What sort of favors they have. Wooden engraved bookmarks.
Where they go on their honeymoon. Château de Fère in France.
Something memorable that happens during the party/ceremony. A couple of Jake's cousins get too drunk and start a brawl.
Who officiates the ceremony. They hire a pandit to perform the Hindu parts of the ceremony and a priest to perform the Christian parts.
What song their first dance is to. "Here, There and Everywhere" by The Beatles.
Who gives who away as they walk down the aisle. Jenkins walks Sarina down the aisle.
