My thoughts on the current ipl points table that absolutely no one asked for :
(part-1)
Tumblr media
1. They're the og champions...very chill, very fun vibes.
soo happy to see them on top. They really be feeling like royalty rn lol.
Also in the end, I'm just a girl 🎀💖 some I absolutely adore their jersey.
2. Yaar.... I know Hyderabad is a great team and everything but.... Do you guys have to go this hard?
Other teams come to play a match, this team comes to crack open your morale and bring you to your knees.
Baki teams khel rahi hai, Yeh log toh seedha gunda gardi kar rahe hai Yaar.
Watching Abhishek, our Indian player, a youngster, bat like that feels amazing tho.
3. Kolkata.... Man.
Gautam bhai aaye, and suddenly Sabka Chris Gayle bahar aagya.
I feel like sunil will take both purple and orange caps this year and gambhir bhai has already planned on picking the trophy this year so... Yea.
PS : once gautam bhai is done someone pls convince him to come as ICT's coach.
4. Chennai = 7 letters = thala for a reason.
They're doing great, but their recent performances makes me worried about what will happen to this team when Mahi Bhai retires.
If they don't start taking more responsibility now there's a good chance csk will crash land in the bottom next year. Hope thT doesn't happen tho.
5. LSG, you beauty....
They look like they are a weak team but they've defeated rcb, gt, pbks and...sabse importantly.... CSK.
But their next matches are quite tough too... So we'll see where they end up after 2 - 3 more matches.
The way kl Rahul hits sixes is just beautiful.
6. Mumbai.
I...... Have no idea what mysterious substance this management was on tbh.
If you want to remove someone from the captaincy, there's gotta be a better way to do that so the fans aren't offended and the player also isn't disrespected. Look how kohli left rcb's captaincy for example.
Then, if you wanted to look towards the future, Bumrah and Surya, both who have captained team India and have stayed with the franchise despite having so many opportunities to earn more if they leave should have been considered.
Or they could have just choosen Ishan. Just like csk and gt choose youngsters, Ishan could have been a good option too. Plus He's captained his team during u-19 in 2016.
But no. They choose Hardik.
Tbh, I feel so sorry for him cause in his mind, when MI offered him captaincy and called him back, he would have been happy to go back to his old team...like going back home.
But the sad truth is, MI management saw how successful he was in gt, winning in the first year and then reaching the finals in 2nd year....and it pissed them off that their player is doing well in some other team. So they brought him back.
Despite so much backlash from fans, so much hatred and trolling against Hardik, this shitty management never held one press conference to clear up misunderstandings and give answers to their fans honestly. Because they knew, if the truth comes out, they'll be on the receiving end of this hate.
Fuck them.
The only mistake Hardik did was leaving gt. But... Oh well.
(I ended up ranting lol.)

Goodbyes are bittersweet!
We had some good times, didn't we? We wore our hearts out on our sleeve Goodbyes are bittersweet But it's not the end I'll see your face again
The Mumbai humidity clung to them like a second skin as they exited the airport terminal. Rohit Sharma, ever the grounded leader, kept a smile plastered on his face amidst the sea of flashing cameras and cheering fans. Virat Kohli, the fire still simmering in his eyes, allowed himself a rare, unadulterated grin. This wasn't just a World Cup win; it was the culmination of years of toil, individual struggles, and finally, the sweet taste of collective triumph.
"Look at this, Hitman," Virat said, gesturing at the throngs of fans chanting their names. "Remember that U-19 days, dreaming of moments like this?"
Rohit chuckled, a hint of nostalgia in his voice. "Yeah, who knew we'd be the ones leading India to a T20 World Cup win, that too on our farewell tour?"
Virat's smile dimmed slightly. "Farewell tour, huh? Feels strange, doesn't it?"
"Strange, bittersweet, but the right decision," Rohit said, his voice firm. "We leave on a high, with this trophy." He tapped the gleaming case nestled between them.
A comfortable silence settled between them, a language only they understood. Years of shared experiences, triumphs, and heartbreaks flowed through that quietude. Finally, Virat spoke, his voice thick with emotion. "Thank you, Rohit. For everything. For believing in me when the chips were down, for being the calming voice I needed sometimes."
Rohit's own eyes welled up. "And you, Virat. You pushed me to be a better leader, a better cricketer. We may not always have seen eye-to-eye, but dammit, we did it together."
Just then, a booming laugh echoed behind them. Ravindra Jadeja, his ever-present swagger masking the lump in his throat, sauntered up. "Couldn't leave the farewell party without yours truly, could you?"
Rohit and Virat exchanged a watery smile. "Come here, Jaddu," Rohit said, pulling him into a tight hug. The three figures, titans of Indian cricket, stood there, a silent promise hanging in the air - their bond transcended the boundaries of the sport.
After what felt like an eternity, they reluctantly pulled away. "Alright, superstars," Virat said, his voice gruff. "Time to head home. Wives must be getting impatient."
"Yeah, Rivaba's gonna kill me if I'm late for dinner," Jadeja said, wiping his eyes with the back of his hand.
They walked towards their respective cars, the weight of the goodbyes settling in. Reaching his car, Virat turned back. "Remember, Hitman," he said, a mischievous glint in his eye. "Just because we're retired from T20s doesn't mean we can't whoop your IPL team's ass next season."
Rohit laughed, a genuine, full-bodied laugh. "Bring it on, Cheeku. But remember, I still have the bragging rights of winning 5 trophies"
With one last lingering look, they exchanged a final "see you soon," a promise that resonated deeper than mere words. One by one, they pulled away, leaving behind a trail of emotions and a legacy that would forever be etched in the annals of Indian cricket. The roar of the departing cars faded into the Mumbai night, a bittersweet symphony marking the end of an era, and the beginning of a new chapter in their legendary bromance.
And I know we'll be alright, child Just close your eyes and see And I'll be by your side Any time you're needing me

4, 7 & 24 for the 🔥🔥 asks!
4. what was the last straw that made you finally block that annoying person?
Tbh I don't have a last straw anymore. I use and abuse the block button liberally. If I see an annoying opinion, I block. Sometimes, I don't even finish reading the post because you usually can tell it's rancid from the first 2 lines.
I've blocked half a fandom at this point bc of the constant negativity. I simply don't care anymore. I'm here to have fun. If you take personal offense to that then that's your problem not mine.
7. what character did you begin to hate not because of canon but because how how the fandom acts about them?
Alngksgnw as you're said hate IS a strong word and I don't hate characters really unless there is a good reason for me to hate them.
So when I say I began to dislike Dorian Pavus after seeing how the fandom acted towards him, I don't hate him. I guess I do find him fascinating and relatable to an extent but I also don't think he's written perfectly as some people act like he is. Revisiting Dorian's quest as an adult with a fully developed brain and way more comfortable about my own queerness made me realize that I dislike how Dorian didn't really have agency whether to reconcile with his father or not. I know it's the point of The game to have a choice but Idk a bit more dialogue about the choice could've easily solved that problem for me.
I also have issues with Dorian's Indian coding lmao and have since felt like I was duped. It just feels like a cop-out? Like Gaider and team knew about the complaints people have about his comments wrt Asians in Thedas so they made him Asian—only mentioning it in a forum post or Twitter I think 🫠 so to this day ive seen people still surprised that he's Asian—without considering how to code him as Indian in the game.
Things like his clothing having some influences from the cultures in India or family structures and mannerisms. I mean it could be as simple as Indian coding the people of Quarinus so you don't just have this one Indian coded family in the entirety of Thedas. The Alexiuses could've also been Indian coded.
(An aside there's more layers to this like the unfortunate implications of coding a group of people who own slaves as poc but I could write a whole post about Dragon Age's attempts of trying to put Asians in this game)
Anyway, that's canon lol. Fandom makes this all worse. I could just point at the Orientalist depictions of Dorian in fanart and just end it here but nope it goes deeper. Somehow, Dorian attracted the worst kind of fandom. Like the Solas and Cullen stans maybe louder but I was there Gandalf. I was in the trenches. People were forming cliques around this one BNF and their friends. I was in the clique and it was all good until Tresspasser dropped.
You see this clique hated that Tresspasser ended with Dorian and the Inquisitor being in an LDR—because Dorian was off trying to fix a country—to the point where some of them acted like they broke up. Hello? Okay 1) That is such a poor reading on long distance relationships 2) Dorian...got a phone crystal for the Inquisitor, u know a tech that didn't exist in Thedas so they can stay in touch.
It also isn't enough that they didn't like it. Others have to Not like it as well. I remember talking to the BNF about my Inquisitor and Dorian, how they stayed in touch as Dorian was y'know trying to fix a country and the BNF told me that it was a depressing situation for my Inquisitor and Dorian...even though it isn't and they're perfectly happy.
(An side, not from this clique but I wouldnt be surprised if some of them also held this opinion but I saw some accusations from folks that Bioware is homophobic because Dorian and the Inquisitor are in an LDR. This is how batshit this fandom is).
Anyway, to keep it short, I was 19-20 when all of this happened. I probably said some stupid shit around that time but I should tell you these people were in their late 20s to early 30s. They were affected by a 19-20 year old with just a handful of followers saying stupid shit. They were so affected by the barely adult saying stupid shit that one of them stalked me, vagueposted about me and when I found out they were vagueposting about me, proceeded to gaslight me and told me I was the one stalking them. :)
Not only that, they also harassed one of my friends to not posting their fics ever again, harrassed a friend of a friend for trying to steal the BNF's spotlight 🙄. Come on some of you have fucking children.
I don't think I could look at Dorian in the same way which is a shame because for a time he was important to me but like God, it was rough.
I also have not forgotten nor forgave :) hence why I have the studio behind that chorus game or whatever it's called now blocked :) and would not be playing it. Do not care if David Gaider is the one writing it. I mean he kinda was the weakest link in that writing team imo (and I also hate his prose).
24. topic that brings up the most rancid discourse
Very cliche but anything to do with the mages and templars

[ad_1] India after defeating Bangladesh in the final (PC: BCCI Women/X) The Indian Under-19 girls’ cricket team were undefeated while winning the first edition of the ACC Women’s U-19 Asia Cup, held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In the final, they defended a target of 118 by bowling out Bangladesh for just 76. Throughout the tournament, different players stepped up at crucial moments. Gongadi Trisha was the star of the tournament with her consistent performances. She scored 159 runs in five innings, with an impressive average of 53.00 and a strike-rate of 120.45. Her contributions included two half-centuries. In the final, she played a crucial knock of 52 off 47 balls, earning her the Player of the Match award. The Hyderabadi cricketer also won the Player of the Tournament title, finishing as the highest run-scorer. Trisha had earlier contributed to India’s victory in the ICC Women’s U-19 T20 World Cup in 2023, scoring 116 runs in seven innings. In a 2022 interview with Sportstar, Trisha shared that her idol is former Indian skipper Mithali Raj. According to ESPNCricinfo, Trisha was introduced to cricket by her father at the age of two. Her becoming the top scorer in the Asia Cup is a testament to her dedication in domestic and international age-group competitions. For the Latest Sports News: Click Here India vs Bangladesh in the final of the ACC U-19 Women’s Asia Cup (PC: BCCI Women/X) Aayushi Shukla and Parunika Sisodia were India’s top bowlers in the campaign, with 10 and nine wickets respectively. Both slow left-arm orthodox spinners dominated the Bangladesh batting lineup in the final, sharing five wickets between them. Parunika was included in the WPL 2025 mini-auction held in Bengaluru last week but was not picked by any team. In the 2023 season, she was part of the Gujarat Giants squad but did not play. This domestic season, she delivered standout performances, including taking four wickets for just nine runs against Rajasthan in the Senior Women’s T20 Trophy. She also took two wickets in each of the four matches she played in the Senior Women’s Inter Zonal T20 Trophy for North Zone. Some players who secured WPL contracts for the next season struggled with consistency. Mumbai Indians paid ₹1.60 crore for G Kamalini, a wicketkeeper and opening batter. Although she finished as the third-highest run-getter in the Asia Cup with 85 runs in five innings, her performances were less impactful. Skipper Niki Prasad had limited opportunities to bat or bowl but excelled as a leader. Delhi Capitals signed her for ₹10 lakh, providing her a chance to learn under former Australian legend Meg Lanning. Joshita VJ, an all-rounder, was signed by the defending WPL champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru for ₹10 lakh. However, she only played three matches in the Asia Cup, taking two wickets and batting just once. Shabnam Shakil, retained by Gujarat Giants for the next WPL season, had impressed in the previous edition by taking four wickets in four games. In this Asia Cup, she managed only two wickets in four matches, though her economy rate was an impressive 2.84. Ishan gave an interview about his mental health and future game plans today. I got truly emotional while I read the article. His genuineness and helplessness in the past few months were evident in his answer. Equally he exhibited strength, resilience and passion for the game in his statements. The boy has always been very humble, accepting his mistakes and promising to work on them and taking credit where he deserves.
He showcased true spirit of the game and love for country in this T20 wc by supporting the team keeping aside all the grudges (unlike few). From Ashwin to Siddhu to Raina, everyone has always praised him for his game as well as his attitude whether on the benches or on the field.
It was about time, mental health became a subject of talk in sports industry. Even in my school the P.E teacher talked about mental health in sports. I'm truly and wholly inspired by each and every word of Ishan. Despite so many struggles, that boy kept his head down working on himself not uttering a word against any injustice.
Also I loved the special mention of Rishabh Pant. He's so sweet to appreciate Pant like that. They have been like brothers since u-19. I loved how Ishan accepted the challenges and competition with head strong strength.
Idk how to tell God, to bless him with lots and lots of success, health and happiness. But still that God sees all and gives you fruitful results for your hard works.. Bhagwan Ishan pe sadaa meherbaan rahe bass.
Pucchu Aaj tu nahi hota toh main bhi nahi hoti shayad. Tereko support krte krte tune meri mental health ko bhi anchor kiya hai. Tujhse personally mere dher saare hugs, kisses and cuddles mere bhaii...I wish I could meet u this Thursday but sadly miss hogya par dw waiting to see u in Indian blue mere sher mere cheeteh. Nazar naage tujhe kisi ki bhi mere Veera. 🧿❤️‍🩹✨😤🔱💪
Kanhaiya aur Mahaakaal ab toh meri prathna sunn lo kitna intezaar karaoge..Sunn lo na plzzzz🙏🙏🙏🙏

Indian-Origin Star, Who Played 53 T20Is For Ireland, Battling For Life
Indian-origin all-rounder Simi Singh, who has played 35 ODIs and 53 T20Is for Ireland, is currently battling for his life. The cricketer, who is suffering from acute liver failure, is currently in the ICU of a Gurugram hospital, according to a report by Times Of India. The report further stated that the cricketer is waiting for a liver transplant that will be performed at the hospital. Simi, who was born in Mohali, played for Punjab at the U-14 and U-17 levels but failed to make the U-19 team. He decided to travel to Ireland for studying hotel management and in 2006, he joined Malahide Cricket Club in Dublin as a professional. He went on to become one of the leading cricketers for Ireland with 39 ODI wickets and 44 T20I wickets. He has also scored an ODI century against South Africa in 2021.

Simi Singh's father-in-law Parvinder Singh opened up about the cricketer's condition.
"Some five-six months back, when he was in Dublin, Ireland, Simi developed a strange kind of fever which kept coming and going. He got himself examined there, but nothing conclusive came out in the check-ups. The medical professionals there said that they couldn't find the underlying cause and therefore they wouldn't start medication," Parvinder told Times Of India.
"The process was getting delayed and Simi's health was deteriorating, so we decided to get him treated in India for 'better medical attention'. Simi flew to Mohali in late June, and after a few consultations with various physicians his treatment started in PGI, Chandigarh in the beginning of July. There the line of treatment was taken for TB (tuberculosis) and antibiotics were given to him. Later, results came out that he didn't have TB."
"As his fever didn't subside, we took him to a private hospital in Mohali for a second opinion. There, we were told that Simi didn't have TB, but the course of the medicines - six weeks - had to be completed. Along with the TB medicines, steroids were also given to him. After that, his fever started increasing again and he developed acute jaundice. In the last week of August, we took him back to PGI where he was admitted to the ICU. But his health kept deteriorating and the PGI physicians detected that he had developed acute liver failure. They advised us to take Simi to Medanta, Gurugram, because there was a high probability of him slipping into coma after which a transplant wouldn't be possible. We came to Medanta on September 3," he added.
According to the report, Simi is now waiting for a liver transplant and his wife - Agamdeep Kaur - has agreed to donate one part of her liver.

MS Dhoni: A Comprehensive Exploration of a Cricketing Legend
Introduction
Mahendra Singh Dhoni, fondly known as "MS Dhoni," is more than just a cricketer; he is an icon of resilience, calmness, and unparalleled leadership. Over the years, Dhoni has carved out a niche in Indian and global cricket, earning titles such as "Captain Cool" and becoming a source of inspiration for millions. This article delves deep into his life, career, and legacy, with a particular focus on the books that have chronicled his journey: "MS Dhoni: The Untold Story" and "Captain Cool: The M.S. Dhoni Story."
Early Life and Rise to Stardom
MS Dhoni's journey from the small town of Ranchi to the pinnacle of world cricket is nothing short of a fairy tale. Born on July 7, 1981, in a modest family, Dhoni's early life was marked by challenges that would have deterred many. However, his love for sports, particularly football and cricket, kept him going. As a young boy, Dhoni showed a natural talent for sports, but it was his switch from being a goalkeeper in football to a wicketkeeper in cricket that set the stage for his future greatness.
His breakthrough came when he was selected for the Bihar U-19 team, and soon after, he was picked for the India A team. His consistent performances caught the eye of selectors, and in 2004, he made his ODI debut against Bangladesh. Although his debut was less than impressive, Dhoni's talent soon shone through, and he established himself as a mainstay in the Indian team.
The Captaincy Era: Defining Leadership in Cricket
When MS Dhoni was appointed as the captain of the Indian cricket team in 2007, many questioned the decision. However, Dhoni silenced his critics with his calm demeanor and astute decision-making on the field. His leadership style was characterized by an unflappable calmness, earning him the moniker "Captain Cool." Under his captaincy, India achieved numerous milestones, including winning the 2007 ICC T20 World Cup, the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup, and the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy.
One of the defining moments of Dhoni's captaincy was the 2011 World Cup final, where he promoted himself up the batting order and led India to victory with a match-winning knock. This moment not only cemented his place as one of the greatest captains in cricket history but also made him a national hero.
MS Dhoni: The Untold Story – A Review
"MS Dhoni: The Untold Story" is more than just a biography; it is an exploration of the man behind the cricketer. Written by Neeraj Pandey, the book offers readers an in-depth look at Dhoni's life, focusing on the untold aspects of his journey. The narrative is a blend of personal anecdotes, interviews with those who have been close to Dhoni, and a detailed account of his rise to fame.
Strengths of the Book:
Personal Insights: The book excels in providing readers with personal insights into Dhoni's life. It sheds light on his humble beginnings, his struggles, and the support he received from his family and friends. These insights help readers understand the man behind the cricketer and appreciate the hard work and determination that went into his success.
Narrative Style: Neeraj Pandey's narrative style is engaging and keeps the reader hooked from start to finish. The book is well-paced, with a good balance of personal stories and professional achievements.
Interviews and Anecdotes: The inclusion of interviews with Dhoni's family, friends, and teammates adds depth to the narrative. These anecdotes provide a unique perspective on Dhoni's life and career, offering readers a glimpse into the behind-the-scenes moments that shaped him.
Weaknesses of the Book:
Limited Focus on Controversies: While the book does a commendable job of exploring Dhoni's life, it tends to gloss over some of the controversies that have surrounded him. For instance, the book does not delve deeply into the criticism he faced during the latter part of his career or the IPL spot-fixing scandal that rocked Indian cricket.
Overemphasis on Success: While Dhoni's success is well-documented, the book occasionally borders on hagiography. The author tends to emphasize Dhoni's achievements, sometimes at the expense of a more balanced portrayal that includes his failures and learning experiences.
Captain Cool: The M.S. Dhoni Story – A Review
"Captain Cool: The M.S. Dhoni Story," written by Gulu Ezekiel, is another significant book that chronicles Dhoni's life and career. Published in 2008, the book provides a detailed account of Dhoni's rise from obscurity to becoming one of the most successful captains in Indian cricket history.
Strengths of the Book:
Detailed Chronology: Ezekiel does an excellent job of providing a chronological account of Dhoni's career. The book meticulously traces his journey from his early days in Ranchi to his ascension as the captain of the Indian cricket team.
Focus on Cricketing Achievements: The book places a strong emphasis on Dhoni's cricketing achievements, making it a must-read for cricket enthusiasts. Ezekiel's analysis of Dhoni's captaincy, his tactics, and his impact on Indian cricket is insightful and well-researched.
In-depth Analysis: Ezekiel's in-depth analysis of key moments in Dhoni's career, such as his explosive innings against Pakistan and his leadership in the 2007 T20 World Cup, provides readers with a comprehensive understanding of Dhoni's cricketing genius.
Weaknesses of the Book:
Lack of Personal Insights: While the book excels in covering Dhoni's cricketing career, it falls short in providing personal insights into his life. Readers looking for a more intimate portrayal of Dhoni may find the book lacking in this aspect.
Limited Coverage of Post-2008 Career: Since the book was published in 2008, it does not cover Dhoni's career beyond that point. As a result, readers miss out on key moments, such as the 2011 World Cup victory and Dhoni's captaincy in the IPL.
Dhoni’s Legacy: A Lasting Impact on Cricket
MS Dhoni's impact on cricket extends far beyond his statistics and records. His leadership style, characterized by calmness under pressure and a deep understanding of the game, has set a new standard for captains worldwide.
