Anonymous asked: howell,  how can you so confidently say that you love madara uchiha?  do you know what that man has done in the past?  what his clan has done?  i'm sure he never told you about all the lives he's taken,  and how gleeful he was to do it.  the man treats war like a performance!  isn't that twisted?  he has no respect for human life!  he's willing to harm,  use,  manipulate,  and kill so long as it brings him to his goals!  he manipulated his grandson to be his "savior,"  lied to him and constantly played things to where he would be the winner,  always!  people don't matter to him unless they're someone strong,  and he has such high standards,  that he belittles those he fights even as they're on their last breaths!

how can you love such a heartless man?  isn't that turning your back on the love you try to show to others?  you can't love him while also trying to protect others and prevent violence.  you are an enabler.  you are just as bad as he is if you let him do whatever he wants.

“He has told me everything, actually.” His voice and facial expression are dull, void of even the slighest hint of emotion-- showing just how hard he’s trying to control himself. And if that isn’t enough of a sign, then the fact that he’s clenching his fists so hard that skin goes white and nails dig into the palms must be. The man is angry, upset. But it’s one of those emotions he has a genuine difficulty with due to his own past and blood related family. “It is possible to love him and protect and prevent violence at the same time. Of course I don’t agree with what he does, and I make that extremely clear. Should I ever witness any of it, be very aware that I will not just stand by.”

Finally, a slight bit more emotion comes out as he takes a deep and shaky breath. One that shows he’s only seconds away from tearing up. Howell is not someone who feels just a little bit. He’s not someone who experiences them only slightly. You can’t use small words for what flows through his veins and brain and heart. ( Speaking of veins, there is some red dripping down his hands now. ) “I wont downplay his past actions. You’re correct that all those things are deplorable. . . and it would be an insult to his victims. But you know. . . I believe in what he wants to achieve. . . And I can see where he’s coming from. That society. . . Reminds me of the environment one of my children grew up in. He’s got a desire to bring peace and happiness. . . and I support that. Just not the way he intends to achieve it. I’ve also seen what he’s like when actually given the chance to experience a more calm and peaceful life. Madara is not devoid of humanity. He’s not devoid of being able to care and love show empathy. As long as that part of a person remains, I believe that they can change and grow for the better.”

And there are the tears. He’s hurt by the last part, genuinely very hurt, but he chooses not to comment on it and instead has been focusing on what’s said about his boyfriend the whole time. “We all change constantly, all the time. I’m not the same person I was many years ago and I’m sure the same goes for him. I believe that he is capable of good. . . and I will always do my absolute best to encourage that. Madara is not a heartless monster-- he never has been.”

👶 - Do you have any children? Do you want children? 

“I have several children, yes. Each of them is very important to me and makes me so incredibly proud.” Howell then gives a small chuckle. “Though, I’m good with how many children I have now. Don’t think I’ll be getting more in the future. But I definitely have always wanted them. I can’t remember exactly when I had the thought for the first time but I know that I wanted to be a good dad someday.” A hand is raised as he rubs the back of his neck with a small but warm smile. “Hope I’m doing a good job now. . .”

💞 - Who is your favorite family member? Why? 

“Philip. Without a doubt.” The answer is given immediately. “He’s my precious annoying baby brother. Can’t imagine life without him. My little brother and I are very close to the point where I’m more a father figure. Philip makes every day fun and one to remember fondly, adds so much energy and joy everywhere he goes. It’s. . . It’s thanks to him that I’m not spending my whole life under the control of our parents and that I get to experience all of these wonderful things.” Howell pauses as he thinks about the first time he held his younger brother in his arms. “I’m genuinely very happy that he was born and that the two of us are siblings.”

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 - Does your family have any family gatherings? Do you go to any of them?

“Our family has never had any when Philip and I were little. But I’m sure I would’ve been forced to go if we did have any. Mother and father took every chance they got to show off what I could do and how obedient I was, after all.” He forces his thoughts away from the past and chuckles. “We don’t have any now either since we all see each other all the time. But I’m sure we will have them once the children become adults. I’ll go to every single one.”

It’s a beautiful and sunny day, the perfect day to go to the market to stock up on some food. Howell has been working extra hard to earn money to make sure he can feed Philip and Elizabeth. Luckily, his hard work has been noticed by a few people he has done some jobs for and he has received some extra money. Now what to get. . . Definitely some of those two’s favorite foods. . . It has been a couple of weeks since he has been able to do that.

But first, let’s start with some berries.

He spots a girl who looks to be around his age standing next to him, noticeably having a hard time deciding what to buy. The teenager is certain of it he has never seen someone look this intensely at a bunch of different berries. It’s a little amusing to see. 

“Do you need help?” Howell doesn’t look at her with much more than a neutral expression on his face, despite feeling a little amused and concerned. It’s a habit he picked up while living with his parents. The 17-yeaar old is much more expressive around those he knows well and feels comfortable around.

Blue eyes look at him with a combination of curiosity and surprise. It’s now that he also notices she has freckles. Huh.

“Well, um,” she starts, fumbling with her bag. The girl’s eyes return to looking at the food, making the green ribbon in her hair flow a little with how quickly she moves her head. “You see, I want to bake cookies today but have no idea what kind of berries to put in them. Do I use blueberries or strawberries or raspberries or. . . I just don’t know what to pick. . .”

This gets Howell to raise an eyebrow. “You bake?” She gives a small hum in response, reaching into her bag. A noticeably very clean folded cloth is taken out of it. It’s unfolded to reveal a couple of cookies. One is offered to him. “Do you want to try one?” He replies with a nod and a ‘thank you’ before accepting it and taking a small bite. 

Eyes light up immediately. That’s how much he likes it.

“You’re excellent at baking!” Spoken much more like how he actually is. “Can you teach me how to make this?” It’s at that moment that he becomes aware of how he’s behaving. Howell clears his throat and forces himself to behave the way his parents taught him to. “If you want to, of course. I think my younger brother might like this so I want to bake it for him.”

She chuckles. “Of course! If you help me decide what kind of berries to buy.”

“I’ll happily help you with that. My name is Howell, it’s a pleasure to meet you.”

“My name is Holly. It’s wonderful to meet you too.”

“Trust me, I’d love to. But one, I’m pretty sure he’s too far gone in this crush and it will be almost impossible to direct those feelings to another person and two, I don’t know where to start looking for a good partner for him. If you have a good suggestion, though, do tell me.”

“The coven heads? Well, I was very intimidated by them at first. Still am by most of them, but at the start the feeling really only came from me only having just gotten out of the world between worlds and still being afraid of most people. Especially the heads of the plant, oracle, healing and potions covens were terribly scary. I’ll admit I am still a bit scared but have warmed up to the healing coven head a bit. But the ones who really stood out to me the most were Darius and Eber because of their very noticeable friendship. They were also two of the ones I really wanted to talk to. Look at where we are now!” Howell chuckles.

“Raine was eventually on that ‘Who I’d Like To Talk To’-list too when I saw their initiation and, hehe, well. . .” One of his relationships that don’t get talked about that much. But they both prefer it that way. “And the other two on the list were Adrian and the construction coven head. Adrian has seemed like an interesting guy from the start and I’ll admit I am a bit curious. The head of the constuction coven just seems. . . seems like a very gentle guy in a way? I don’t know. . . He just seems nice. . . I haven’t talked to either of those two yet but I do plan to at some point.”

Howell frowns as he pauses for a couple of seconds. “Sadly, I’ve never gotten to see Scooter, the former bard coven head, and have only heard about him. . . Which has left me curious about the guy too. But I’m afraid I’ll never get to meet the guy so I’ve let that go. Lilith also seemed interesting but I never got to talk to her either. . .”

The man’s eyes widen before he quietly moves his gaze to the ground. It’s true that family members keep getting upset whenever he starts dating another person. A shaky sigh leaves his lips. Pay very close attention and one might notice that he’s shaking a little.

“I. . . I suppose it is selfish. . . Yes. . .”

Howell is barely able to keep his calm facade. This is definitely one of the thoughts that are repeatedly going through his head right now. It’s absolutely terrifying and he genuinely hopes that the baby is alright and that Darius is going to be okay.

Alright, just take deep breaths and stay positive.

“I. . . The. . . The best result would be for both him and the baby to survive this.”
