Gale Hawthorne: A teenage boy (with *gasp* the emotional maturity of an average teenager! 😱) who grew up in utter poverty in a horrifically oppressive country. He joined the rebellion and helped create bombs to *checks notes* take out his horrifically oppressive government who subject their citizens to poverty and force 24 children and teenagers to fight to the death once a year. The fandom: "Gale Hawthorne is THE REAL VILLAIN of the story!! He is a narcissistic INCEL, and he murdered Prim! He absolutely knew how Coin was going to use the bombs! Not only that, but he actually stabbed Prim to death first, with his own 2 hands!! Forget that he made them with Beetee, Coin made the orders, and Plutarch followed them... IT WAS ALL THAT INCEL MONSTER GALE!!! He also did 9/11! Yeah, that was HIM!"

The hunger games fandom honestly lose their comprehension skills when it comes to gale. Like he has his flaws which can be ugly at times like his insensitivity(towards the victors held hostage by snow(yet gale voluntarily went to a dangerousmission to rescue them), katniss' stylists) but people really forget that he is a teenager, he is of course going to be a prick at times. People hate and don't have any sympathy for him(a teenage boy who is poc, is from an oppressed background who wants to get rid of the oppression he is facing)while hypocritically loving and having sympathy characters for grown ass adults in the capitol like effie and katniss' stylists who literally view the hunger games as a sports, dehumanize the people in the districts and indirectly contributing to the oppression of the districts(the excuse of they didn't know better is terrible because it is obvious as hell that a 'sport' where children are murdered is terrible). Gale's actions can be overly violent at times(like in the nut) but it was for the rebellion's success because if the rebellion fails again, the capitol would do worse to the districts than the hunger games. Also gale has no idea how the bombs he made are being used so it's stupid to blame him for prim's death, which was caused by coin. Plus we don't even know whether those bombs that killed her were made by him or not. For all we know, thise bombs could have been made by beetee or some random person.
