Your post about underdeveloped relationships got me thinking about Cas and Jody. Cas has been on the show since season 4 and Jody since season 5 and the first time they met in person was in season 15 which is just the most insane thing ever

Oh absolutely omg. I know it’s just because the show is bad and the writers were largely (with notable exceptions) loath to let non-salmondean characters connect with one another. But from an in-universe perspective it makes me even MORE nuts because can you imagine being Cas and listening to salmondean constantly talking about this friend of theirs, who they see fairly often and who helps them with cases, who’s literally the person currently looking after Claire, and just. Having no idea what she’s actually like. Not even having a face to put to the name. It would be less weird on Jody’s end I think because she’s nowhere near as socially isolated as Cas is, but man.

In a perfect world Cas would have visited Claire and by extension Jody at LEAST once, if only to check in on Claire and make sure she was settling in. But seriously the fact that Jody episodes and Cas episodes didn’t overlap until literally the last half of the final season is really kind of inimitable. In a bad way 😭
