Y/N smirks as Two different—yet identical versions of Ikaris flow down on the Avengers' landing pad. The first Ikaris had dark brown hair with a grey streak in it. The other one had long blonde hair, curled slightly. "Wow. Two Ikaris's? I think I'm having a wet dream."
The twins exchange a mischievous glance, their eyes crinkling at the corners. "You always did have a silver tongue." The dark-haired Ikaris mutters, while the blonde one chuckles, "We could make this interesting."
"How?"
The dark-haired Ikaris steps closer, his grey streak gleaning against the afternoon sun "A game." He suggests. "Loser has to..." He pauses, letting the blonde one finish. "Give the winner anything he wants."
"What do I get when I win?" Y/N said, a cocky smirk on his face.
Both twins smile dangerously simultaneously. "Remember, Y/N, we've been training together for centuries. If you somehow managed to win this game, anything you desire. Our knowledge. Our loyalty. Even our bodies, if that's what you want." The blonde Ikaris said, his eyes gleaming with a challenging spark.
"And what do you guys want?" Y/N asked.
Dark-haired Ikaris stepped forward. "Something precious... your heart. And the chance to prove once and for all who is truly the superior heroic team. The Avengers, or the Eternals."
"Deal."

"I don't understand it, Peter. I've been sending Ikaris all the signals that I'm interested. I mean, I pulled out all the stops. I wore booty shorts. And I sensually ate a mango out while locking eyes with him. Like... what the hell?" Y/N said.
He and Peter were sitting out on the balcony of Avengers's tower. Just sitting down and listening to the traffic down below them. Peter's brown eyes from his phone and towards Y/N. "Umm... maybe you should just tell him you're interested. Or did you ever think that he might be straight?"
"Oh,I can make straight guys go gay. Just ask Steve and Bucky." He winks.

A guy around Ikaris's height answered the door wearing ruby colored sunglasses. He had dark hair with a slight stubble on his face. The man had a visible frown on his face as if Ikaris and Y/N's very presence offended him.
"Ikaris. I never thought I'd ever see you darken our doorstep again."
"Always the most welcoming, eh, Scotty?" Ikaris teased.
"It's Cyclops. What do you and your... friend want?" Cyclops looks at Y/N.
"We need to see Professor Charles Xavier." Y/N said.
"He's inside. Come in." He moved to the side as Ikaris and Cyclops eyed each other. "Still with your little eye beams? That's so cute."
"Yes, and I remember that my 'little eye beams' outlasted yours after I kicked your cute little ass." Ikaris winks and flies down the hall as Cyclops chuckled.

Ikaris walked towards the bathroom and shut the door as he turned the light on and stared at his reflection in the mirror. He looks the same. Same blue eyes. Same dark hair with his gray streak. So, nothing's changed right? He pulled his shirt off his body and hisses slightly as he sees red and purple scratch marks all over his trail of skin.
He doesn't know why, but he can feel tears starting to form in his eyes. Why was he crying? He's been hurt worse than this before. Like the time Thena got trigger happy and attacked him with her axe and sword. But this was different. The enemy who made these marks was gone, but not done. And Ikaris fears for not only himself, but Y/N too.
There's a knock at the door. "Ikaris? Are you okay?"
"Fine. Just fine." He sniffles.
"Are you crying? I can hear your heart rate going up. What's going on in there?"
"Nothing! Please just go away."
Instead of listening, Y/N forced his way into the room with his powers as he saw Ikaris'bruises. "Oh my God, Iceberg what happened?"
"It's nothing. I'm fine." Ikaris said.
"You are not fine. You're hurt. Now, who did this?" He walked towards him and ran a gentle hand over his marks. "Please, tell me who did this?"
Ikaris takes a breath. "Apocalypse."

Golden Light & Shields Chapter 6
Ikaris x Male Reader
A/N: Finished chapter 6
Tumblr media
Sersi and Phastos ran across the landscape of the volcano, minding the magma coming out of the ground. Sersi had to stop this. She couldn’t let the people of this planet die so that Tiamut could rise. Maybe if she used her powers, she could put the Celestial on ice. She wasn’t a killer, but she had to do something. Even if she wasn’t powerful enough to do this by herself.
“Phastos, I need to get closer,” Sersi said, looking down at the flow of lava.
“I’ve got just the thing,” Phastos said as he used the rings on his arms and used his powers to create and construct a gadget appropriate for this situation. Once finished; he put the device on Sersi’s feet. Sersi looked down at what Phastos had done. She was wearing golden-like metal boots. Sersi looked at Phastos, puzzled. “What are these things, Phastos?”
Phastos smiled. “Rocket boots. You know, since you can’t fly and everything. And this will allow you to sail over the lava, but what’s your plan once you get close enough?”
“If I can find a spot on the ground that isn’t covered with magma, I can probably try my powers and turn the volcano into something else, but I fear I don't have enough power to do it.”
“Need some assistance?” Sersi and Phastos turned to see Ajak, Kingo, Makkari, and Druig standing behind them.
“Druig, you’re alive!” Sersi cries as she hugs him. Druig returns the hug, but after a minute, he gets uncomfortable. “Alright, alright. Enough of that mushy stuff,”he jokes. Druig looks at Sersi, seriously. “I can’t do this. This is your fight now.”
“Together,” Sersi says. “Y/N was right. If we all work together, then we can win.”
“I’m really starting to hate his ‘hope speeches,’” Druig smirks.
“Well, let's just hope he can get through to Ikaris,” Sersi said. She looks at the volcano. “For all our sakes.” Sersi activates the boots as she hovers in the air and holds out a hand for Druig to take. He does and one by one the others join hands as Sersi flies them closer to Tiamut.
….
Ikaris blinks as feels himself coming back to reality. It felt like he blacked out for a moment there. Almost like he drank too much and couldn't recall what happened. That's how he felt at the moment. He remembers grabbing the Deviant off of Y/N and flying them both in the air, as they exchanged blows, before crashing into the ground. He had followed the Deviant into a nearby cave and attacked it, but it grabbed him with its tentacles, and then there was a bright light and… Now he was here. Strange.
Ikaris was about to fly off and see where he was when he felt his foot kick something. Ikaris looked down expecting to see that he's hit a rock with his foot. If it had only been a rock instead of what he saw. Ikaris gasped in horror, and any other words that meant surprised or horrified as he stared down at Y/N’s unmoving body. So many questions were running through Ikaris's head as he knelt down to Y/N’s body. Who did this? What happened? Did they stop the Emergence?
“Duckling? Duckling!! Duckling, please wake up!!” Ikaris begged. He felt like he couldn't breathe. What the hell happened? Ikaris ran a finger down Y/N neck and felt a bump on it. The Eternal looked closer and noticed his neck was swollen. Someone or something had snapped Y/N’s neck. But who? Who could have that much strength to be able to do this?—
Then it dawned on Ikaris on who was responsible for this. It was him. He's the one who killed Y/N. No, that was ridiculous. He would never hurt his boyfriend like this. He promised he would always protect him. He couldn't have done this. There was no way. But now he was starting to remember. He did do this. He attacked Druig, the Domo, Y/N.
“Y/N? Hey! Please?” Ikaris cradled Y/N’s body in his arms. “I'm going to get you to Ajak, and she's going to fix you right up, ok?” Ikaris stood up, holding Y/N close as his head rolled back. “Hey, you're okay. I'm here now, and I'm going to keep you safe, just like I promised you the other night, remember?” Ikaris’s voice was starting to crack as the weight of what he's done to Y/N was about to crush him.
“Stay with me, stay with me. You stay with me, Duckling. You can't leave me just yet. I was gonna propose to you. Do you understand what that means? Us, together with a house and kids, and everything else. Forever.” Ikaris’s voice cracked as his vision started to blur with hot tears. “Y/N! No, please, please. Please.” Ikaris dropped to his knees as hot tears ran down his face. He’d done this to him. To Y/N. He was a monster. “I can't do this without you. Please don’t leave me!!” Ikaris doesn’t know how long he sat there and cried over Y/N’s dead body. This was his punishment. His lies had finally caught up with him and Y/N paid the price for it.
He shouldn’t have lied to him. He should have been honest from the beginning. He should have never entered his life in the first place. Because of him, Y/N’s life was now over. Ikaris put his head on Y/N’s and cried harder.
“Iceberg?”
Ikaris gasped as his ears perked up at the sound of the voice behind him. It couldn’t be—There was no way that was—Was it?
Ikaris held his breath as he turned around and looked up and saw Y/N standing in front of him. The sun caught his hair and made it shine. His mind had to be playing tricks on him. This had to be a guilt induced hallucination. It couldn’t be real, could it?
“Y/N? It’s not possible you’re d-d-dead.”
“It’s me, Iceberg. I promise it’s me. I’m okay,” Y/N said as he kneeled down next to Ikaris, as the Eternal moved away from him. “Iceberg, please. Trust me.” Ikaris wanted to believe that this was all a trick. Something he was imagining in his mind, because he didn’t dare let himself hold on to the faintest hope that this was true. That Y/N was safe and sound.
Y/N could see the hesitation in his boyfriend’s eyes. Not that he blamed him. After what just happened; he’d also be hesitant to trust the person who looked like the dead corpse in his arms. Y/N waved his hand and the Y/N in Ikaris’s arms disappeared. Almost like he never even existed. Ikaris stood up. “What did you do to him?!”
“Iceberg, believe me when I say that you didn’t kill me. It was an illusion that Sprite and I created. Right, Sprite?” Ikaris turned and saw the air shimmer as Sprite appeared in front of him. “It’s true, Ikaris. The Y/N you killed wasn’t real.”
“You tricked me?” Ikaris whispered. “Why would you do that to me?”
“I’m sorry for tricking you like that, Ikaris, but I knew you wouldn’t stop until all the others were dead. Just like the Deviant ordered you to,” Y/N said. “I thought if you killed someone, me, the shock would bring you back to your senses. Turns out I was right.”
“So I didn’t hurt you then?” Ikaris asked, reaching for Y/N. Y/N let Ikaris put his hands around his face and let him feel that he was real. “That’s right, Iceberg. You didn’t hurt me at all.” Y/N began to cry a little. “I’m so sorry for doing that to you, but I couldn’t let you hurt the others. It would have crushed you.”
“I forgive you, Duckling. And I’m sorry for all the horrible things I said to you. They weren’t true. Any of those awful things I told you were lies.” The two shared a hug, embracing each other’s warmth. It felt good to do this once again.
Y/N pulled back and looked at Ikaris. “Come on. We still have a job to do.”
“What about the Deviant?”
“I wouldn’t worry about him. I’ve got some friends already on it,” Y/N smiled.
“I really thought I lost you, Duckling. I thought I was going to be alone.”
“Aww, it’s so cute that you think death can get you out of this relationship,” Y/N joked as Ikaris smiled.
Thena dragged her spear across the ground as she charged forward and stabbed the Deviant in the chest as he grunted in pain. Thena formed a sword and knife as she and Gilgamesh both attacked Kro as he tried his best to defend himself against the two Eternals. Each side exchanging blows and blocks.
Thena forms an axe as she slashes down with it, but the Deviant jumps up and away from the attack as the weapon cuts through a rock wall, causing a stream of lava to flow from it. Gilgamesh jumps back as Thena strikes again and Kro jumps completely away as she forms a shield to protect herself from the falling rocks and magma. She grunts as she falls to the ground, partly singed. “Thena!” Gilgamesh cries as he runs to her and helps her to her feet.
The lava created a wall of steam between them and the Deviant. Neither side can see the other as Thena’s Mahd Wy'ry comes back as she forms a spear and dagger. “Thena?” Gilgamesh warns. Instead of answering, Thena grunts as she runs and jumps, sailing gracefully over the flow of lava and taking a stab in the dark, literally, through the veil of smoke. Her weapons connect with the squishy flesh of the Deviant as he groans in pain. Thena pushes in the weapons as much as she can as Kro forms a cosmic fist and sends her flying back and rolling to the ground, close to the entrance of the cave.
“No, Thena!” Gilgamesh forms his own cosmic fist as he and Kro connect them together, sending them both flying back as Gilgamesh hits a wall and falls to the ground. Kro grunts as he stands up. He can't beat them both, but if he takes out the one with psychological problems, then he can kill the other one easily. The head Deviant walks out of the crater and towards Thena.
“Thena. It’s me. Gilgamesh,” Kro says, his voice echoing through the cave. Thena stands up, her eyes white as she stares at Kro. “Look at me.”
“Gilgamesh?” Thena asks quietly.
“Stay here,” Kro says, copies Gilgamesh’s safe word for Thena. She chuckled. He was safe. The Deviant didn’t get him. “Say it.”
“Stay here,” Thena says.
“You’ll be okay,” Kro promises. “Give me your hand.” Thena gasps as she and Kro put their hands together. The Deviant wraps his tendrils around Thena’s body and lifts her into the air. He ties her hands behind her back so she can’t conjure any weapons. “Ah, it’s a shame,” Kro begins. “You and I, we’re just tools of a god. Built to kill.” Kro brushes a finger over Thena’s cheek as she pulls away slightly from his touch. “Thena. Remember.” The Deviant sticks his tentacles in her as she groans as her cosmic life force is being drained. Kro snarls as he takes her energy, reveling in taking Thena’s energy. The leader, Deviant, is so distracted that he doesn’t see Gilgamesh come up from behind and slams a cosmic fist into his back.
Kro gasps and groans at the surprise attack as Thena forms a dagger behind her back to free her arms as she quickly switches weapons and makes two giant cosmic swords as she slashes all over the Deviant’s body faster than a blink of an eye. Kro gasps as dies, his body comes apart and falls to the ground, releasing the cosmic energy he stole. Thena falls to the ground and gasps out; Gilgamesh is by her side. “You did it, Thena,” he says. “You remembered.”
“I remember,” Thena whispers.
….
It’s chaos on the island as a dark storm forms on top of the volcano. A nearby patch of greenish island just 40 miles off the shore of the volcano begins to sink into the ocean as a giant whirl pulls it under and washes it away. Underneath the water, the ocean floor begins to break apart as something rises from the depths of earth’s core. The giant finger of the Celestial Tiamut breaks through the water and rises towards the sky as Tiamut is close to awakening, and this planet is close to annihilation.
Sersi and the other Eternals struggle to retain their balance as the ground beneath their feet begins to shake. Lava is splashing around everywhere. They’re too late. “Come on, Sersi,” Phastos says. “Come on.”
“You’re powerful enough to do this,” Ajak tells her.
Makkari signs. “You’ve got this, girl.”
“But I'm not. I can't do this by myself,” Sersi says.
“Well, thankful you won't be alone,” a voice says.
Sersi, Ajak, Makkari, Phastos, and Druig turn to see Y/N, Ikaris, and Sprite float down to them. Druig flinches a bit when he and Ikaris meet eyes as Makkari stands protectively in front of him.
“It’s alright, guys. Ikaris is on our side again,” Y/N says and signs.
“I’m sorry for what I did,” Ikaris says with remorse. “I wasn’t myself, and I apologize if I hurt any of you. Especially, Y/N and Druig.”
“Yeah, well, I hope Y/N isn’t into Sexual Asphyxiation because man, you have a tight grip,” Druig says, rubbing his throat.
“I think that’s Druig way of saying he forgives you,” Sprite says.
“I hate to break up this lovely moment, but what are we going to do about the inevitable birth of Celestial happening, oh… RIGHT NOW?!” Kingo says.
“Don’t worry, Kingo. Sersi or Druig can still do this,” Y/N said.
“Y/N, how? I can’t use my powers on the magma covered ground,” Sersi said.
“Is that so?” Y/N used his telekinesis on the ground and separated it to reveal a golden path that led straight to Tiamut’s head in the ocean. It looked like a palm. “Sersi, you can do this, but I’m going to help you.”
“How?”
“By taking a page out of the Deviant’s playbook. If I can absorb enough cosmic energy from Tiamut, then it might weaken him enough that you could activate the Uni-Mind again and use your powers to put an end to the Emergence,” Y/N said.
“Y/N, that’s crazy. You could die. Not even you can absorb all that energy,” Sprite said.
“I know Sprite, but this is our only chance.” Y/N turns and looks at each one of the Eternals, minus Thena and Gilgamesh, who look on at Tiamut rising and wondering if the others will be able to stop the Emergence in time. “It was an honor to fight by your side, and I thank each and everyone of you for sacrificing so much so that the people of this planet could live in peace.”
Y/N turned to Sersi. “You’ll know when it’s time, Sersi,” the young Avenger said as he used his telekinesis to propel himself into the air, and headed straight for Tiamut’s head.
“Y/N, wait!” Ikaris rose into the air and flew after his young lover. Ikaris couldn’t let Y/N die for real this time. Not as long as he was still breathing, he would always protect him. No matter what.
Y/N may have gotten a head start, but Ikaris was faster and more experienced, and easily caught up to Y/N, and flew in front of him, arms crossed. Y/N stopped and hovered in the air. “Iceberg I—”
“— No, I won’t let you do this,” Ikaris protested.
“I know you don’t like this but, I have to do it.”
“Y/N, you saw how devastated I was when I thought I killed you. How do you think I’m going to react if you die for real? Right in front of me?” Ikaris asked him.
Y/N was silent. He knew Ikaris wasn’t going to like this plan, but it was the only way to save the world. If he had to die so that other people could live, then he’d gladly make that sacrifice because he knew if the roles were reversed; Ikaris would do the same for him.
“I’m so sorry about this and you don’t deserve to suffer like this, but I have to do this,” Y/N said. “Life is... so precious... so beautiful. And to be able to protect that, that's an amazing gift. I know you feel the same way.”
Ikaris held Y/N’s face in his hands, looking into his eyes. “I do… I just… I just don’t wanna lose you.”
“Iceberg… You’ll never lose me. No matter where I am, as long as I’m in your heart, I will always be with you. No matter what,” Y/N told him, choking up just a bit. “I love you. I always will.”
“I love you too, Y/N.”
The two share a kiss as Y/N pulls away from Ikaris as he watches Y/N fly off towards the Celestial, like the Icarus of legend, who flew too close to the sun and fell into the ocean below him. Ikaris hopes that doesn’t happen to Y/N. Ikaris turns and flies back to the others.
Y/N stopped in the center of Tiamut’s head. He’s seen a lot of crazy things in his life, but this was something else entirely. He’s never seen a Celestial before and the sight is honestly beautiful, despite the circumstances. Y/N looks down and sees Tiamut’s eyes looking at him, glowing and humming softly. He doesn’t want to do this to him, but he doesn’t have any other choice. The people of this planet will die if he doesn’t do something fast. “I’m sorry about this, Tiamut. I hope you’ll understand why I’m doing this.”
Y/N puts his hands on the giant head of the Celestial and starts taking in his energy. Y/N felt it flow into his body and sighed. It felt incredible. It felt amazing. It felt… Y/N gasped as his consciousness was taken from his body and merged with Tiamut’s. They formed a connection the same way that Arishem and Ajax do. Y/N floated in the void of space, or some sort of plane of existence that wasn’t his own, but he could breathe and even talk if he wanted to. Tiamut stared down at Y/N, his gold eyes shining down on him. Y/N looked microscopic compared to the Celestial.
“I’m sorry, Tiamut, but I can’t let you rise. There are people that I love that are going to die on this planet if you do. I hope you can understand why I have to do this,” Y/N told the God-like being.
Tiamut remained silent. He didn’t say a word as he continued to stare down at Y/N.
The Celestial raised his giant arm and brought his hand towards Y/N. A giant shadow was cast over the young Avenger. For a moment, Y/N thought Tiamut was going to crush him. He could easily do it and prevent Y/N from stopping his birth. Instead, though, the Celestial tapped Y/N gently on the head and looked at his memories as he saw how much humanity had to offer and how much Y/N loved his family and friends. How much he loved Ikaris. Tiamut’s eyes glowed bright as it blinded Y/N’s sight as he held up his hands to shield his face from the harsh light.
When he opened his eyes again, Y/N discovered he was back in the air with his hands still on Tiamut’s head. What in the world was that? Y/N looked down and noticed he was glowing. Not only with just Tiamut’s energy, but from the nanite infused mind stone energy, and the Chaos magic as well.
The only way for Y/N to ever truly be in control of his powers was to accept himself fully. Good or bad. Prophecy or no prophecy. Harbinger of Chaos or not, this was him. Y/N tugged at the mind stone and the chaos energies inside himself and blended them together. Pushed the opposite forces of power together until they merged into one. No longer were the energies separate, but together creating a reddish-golden energy that symbolized Y/N’s transition to acceptance. A gold headband formed on Y/N’s forehead, with a red stone in the middle of it, like the one his nephew Billy would wear when he became Wiccan.
Y/N raised his arms and pulled as energy from Tiamut began to rise out of him and into Y/N’s body. Like what Wanda did to Agatha. Y/N kept absorbing the infinite power of a Celestial, creating a light show for the Eternals to witness.
Sersi saw and knew this is what Y/N meant. This was the right time. She kneeled down and placed her hands on Tiamut’s golden skin as she used her matter transmutation to turn it into ice. Tiamut groaned out as the storm overhead grew. Volcanic ash rained down on them as Sersi looked at Ikaris, who looked at her. Sersi remembers all the good times they had over the centuries. “It’s beautiful, isn’t it?” Sersi had said.
Sersi used those memories for strength as she activate the Uni-Mind as she, Ikaris, and all the other Eternals began to ascend into the air, sharing their power and combining it into one stream of energy as Sersi flew into it and bathe in the golden light of the cosmic power, letting the strength of those she loved guiding her into doing this. Sersi came down fast as she slammed her on the ground of Tiamut’s skin as the power rushed throughout Tiamut’s body, turning it into ice. Sersi screamed as she pushed with everything she had to be able to do this.
Y/N turned his head slightly and saw that Sersi had activated the Uni-Mind. She was doing it. The young Maximoff used the energy he absorbed and used it to fuel his chaos powers as he sent a blast of energy at the Celestial and started to transmute Tiamut’s head into ice as well. The golden light in the being’s eyes began to flicker in and out as the ice almost covered his head. For a moment, Y/N could hear a giant voice whisper to him. “Thank you, Y/N.”
The volcano had stopped shaking, and the storm had blown as the sun shined through the clouds as they parted, letting its light cast onto the now frozen statue form of the Celestial, Tiamut. Seagull’s cries could be heard as all was quiet. Sersi was panting as she realized what she did. She—They had done it. Together. Y/N looked at the icy form of the Celestial. Tiamut had helped them stop his own Emergence. He believed the people of this planet deserved to live. “Thank you, Tiamut,” Y/N thought with a smile on his face.
That’s when Y/N noticed he was floating in the air. Not because of telekinesis, but because of something else. Huh? That was a new one.
….
All the Eternals gather on the beach of the island as the waves crash against the rocks. Thena and Gilgamesh looked out at the ocean. Makkari hugged Sersi. Phastos turned to Sersi. “How?” He asked her. “How did you do it?”
Sersi looked down at her hands. “When I touched Tiamut’s palm, I felt energy surging into me.”
“Tiamut joined your Uni-Mind and helped us stop his own Emergence,” Y/N said, floating down next to them.
“Duckling!” Ikaris cried as he ran to his boyfriend and hugged him. Y/N relished in Ikaris’s warmth. His touch and reassurance.
Y/N looked at Ikaris, tears in his eyes. “I’m sorry,” he choked up. Ikaris smiled gently as he placed a hand on Y/N’s cheek. The Avenger nestled in his touch. “I know,” Ikaris wiped the tears from Y/N’s eyes as he put their foreheads together. Ikaris waited until Y/N was done weeping as he pulled back and noticed the headband on Y/N’s forehead.
“That’s an interesting fashion choice, Duckling.”
Y/N frowned. “What do you mean?”
“The gold headband on your head with a red stone in the center,” Ikaris said, pointing to Y/N’s forehead.
“Well, I guess it symbolizes that I've finally accepted myself for who I am,” Y/N said.
“Really?”
“Yeah, take a look.” Y/N formed a ball of energy that was red mixed with gold.
“That's amazing, Duckling,” Ikaris said.
“That's just the beginning.” Y/N jumped and flew high in the air with a light gold aura around himself as he flew without using telekinesis. He came back down and landed next to Ikaris.
“You can fly?”
“I can fly!”
“How?”
“A gift from Tiamut. New powers,” Y/N smiled. He concentrated and blasted a nearby rock with an energy blast.
“Tiamut gave you powers?” Kingo asked. “Why?”
“Probably his way of saying thank you. I heard him say that before he died. He helped us stop his own birth because he believed people deserve another chance,” Y/N said.
“Y/N’s right. I always wondered how we survived the destruction of other planets that we were on. By being connected to the Celestial as it emerged,” Phastos said, and signed.
“We became one… All because of Tiamut,” Makkari signed.
Sersi turns and looks at Sprite. “Sprite? I still have energy from the Uni-Mind. I think I can make you human.” Everyone looks at Sersi in shock.
“What? Really?” Sprite asks in disbelief.
“Yes, all the things you said you wanted, you can have them, but your time will be fleeting and you’ll die one day,” Sersi warns. “Are you ready for that?”
Sprite looks overjoyed. She’s practically close to tears. “I am.”
“You sure about this, Sprite?” Y/N asked her.
“I am Y/N. I want to know what it’s like to be human. To grow up. To love. To have a family. And to know, in the end, I’ve lived,” Sprite said.
“If this is what you want, then I’ll respect your decision,” Y/N smiled.
Sersi faintly glowed as she held out her hand for Sprite to take. The youngest of the Eternals put her hand over Sersi as she felt its power start to transform her. Making her human.
Two weeks have passed as people are bewildered by the new statute formation that’s sticking out in the Indian Ocean. They never knew how close the earth was to destruction two weeks ago. “The sudden appearance of an enormous stone figure in the Indian Ocean has left more questions than answers for authorities. U.S. and Australian naval ships are maintaining defensive positions, but at this point …”
“You guys did that?” Ben asked his husband, Druig, and Makkari as they munched on pizza, sitting on Ajax’s couch.
“Your husband’s a total badass, Ben,” Y/N said as he walked by and headed outside to Ikaris and Sersi.
Phastos blushed at Y/N’s words as Ben laughed at his husband. “I love you so much.”
Thena is in the kitchen, fighting with the toaster. She just wants her toasted bread. Thena sticks her fingers inside it as Jack walks in. He looks at Aunt Thena, confused. “Are you okay?”
Thena looks at him. “I get confused sometimes.”
“Yeah. Me, too,” Jack says. He tries to reach an orange that’s too high up for him. “So, Dad said you’re the goddess Athena.”
“Thena. Drop the A,” Gilgamesh says, entering the kitchen as well.
“Oh.”
“Hmm,” Thena smiles.
“What’s your superpower?” Jack innocently asks her. Thena answers his question as she forms an energy spear and punctures the orange with and hands it to Jack. Phastos sees and immediately gets up. “Um, can you just… Look… One second,” he tells Makkari and Druig.
Jack looks at the spear and orange in shock as his dad enters the room.
“Oh, papa bear to the rescue, Thena,” Gilgamesh jokes.
“Okay. All right,” Phastos chuckles nervously. “See, that thing is… Okay. Almost gave you a shave and a haircut, didn’t she? Stand behind me, actually.” Thena smirks at Phastos as he turns to his son. “Um, you remember earmuffs? Remember how we practiced earmuffs? Thank you so much.”
“I think our babysitting privileges are completely revoked, right?” Gilgamesh teases Phastos.
“Like, it’s done,” Phastos says. “Thank you. Violence… Hey. Violence is never the answer. Right, T and G?” Phastos looks at Gilgamesh and Thena expectantly. “You gotta always use your brain, hmm?”
“Like you did on the beach?” Thena asked him.
“Your dad spoke calmly and firmly to the bad guy and he had no choice but to listen to me, so no violence,” Phastos said.
“The kid is ten… not stupid!” Makkari signed as she walked in.
“When are you guys leaving? When is that happening? That’s happening soon, right?” Phastos signed and said. Druig walked in and threw something at Phastos as he smiled at him. “Ah, yes, there’s Druig. Don’t go anywhere near him.”
“Oh,” Jack said. “Yeah!”
Y/N and Ikaris flew high in the clouds, the wind blowing through them, the sun on their faces. They could do this without having to fear a Deviant ruining it again. Y/N turned his head and looked at Ikaris. The sun makes his dark locks shine. There was also that little stripe of white in his hair that Y/N loved so much. “You’re starting again.” Ikaris doesn't look at him.
“I'm gazing,” Y/N protests.
“It's creepy.”
“It's romantic.”
Y/N chuckles. “Iceberg?”
“Hmm?”
“Some of the others are leaving for space today.”
“Yes, I know.”
“Well, I just want you to know that they're going to need someone strong on this voyage and if you decide to go with them. I'll understand,” Y/N said.
Ikaris looked down at Y/N and shook his head. “Not this time, Duckling. My place is with you,” he smiles.
Y/N smiles sweetly at him. “Really, Iceberg?”
“Really, my sweet boy.” Ikaris and Y/N kiss slowly in the air. Clouds wrap around their flying forms as they do. Ikaris pulls back and smirks. “I can't wait to try out this new flying power of yours.” His voice deepens just a bit as he whispers in his boyfriend’s ear. “You and I are high above New York City. Told exposed for all to witness as you take it so good for me.”
Y/N shivered slightly at Ikaris’s dirty talk. “Who knew that you were such an exhibitionist, Iceberg?”
They came floating down to the ground as Makkari, Druig, Thena, Ajak, and Gilgamesh were looking at the Domo, repaired thanks to Phastos.
“Okay, that’s far enough, Jack,” Phastos said.
“Wow, Dad, the Domo’s so cool,” Jack said.
“Your dad fixed that with his bare hands.”
“Can we go to space, too, one day?”
“Let’s wait till you get your learner’s permit, okay?”
“Hey, Phastos,” Druig says. “Take care. This world is lucky to have you.”
“Thank you.” Phastos holds out a hand. “I know you’re not a hugger, so…” They shake hands as Druig pulls Phastos into a hug. “Okay.” Phastos chuckles as he hugs back. Makkari smiles.
Druig pulls back and looks at Makkari. “You think when we find the other Eternals out there, that they’ll accept the truth the way we did?” He signs to her.
She nods her head. “…because the truth will set them free.”
“I wish you guys didn’t have to leave, but I understand you have a new mission now,” Y/N says.
“Aww, what’s wrong, Y/N? Gonna miss my handsome face,” Druig teased.
“Hardly. Hopefully, when I see you again, you’ll have a new one because this one isn’t working for you,” Y/N joked.
“Ouch.”
“Damn, that’s cold.”
“You just got burned, Druig.”
Druig looked at Y/N and smiled. “Not bad, kid.”
“Thanks.” Y/N moved and hugged him. Then hugged Thena, Makkari, Gilgamesh, and Ajax. They boarded the Domo as it rose high into the air and flew fast into deep space. So long.
Later on, Sersi, Kingo, and Karun saw Sprite off to school as she began her new life as human.
….
Y/N and Ikaris returned to New York where Y/N went to give Steve and Tony a debriefing on what exactly happened two weeks ago. They walked down the hallway of a temporary building that Tony had bought as the Avenger’s base of operation until the compound was fixed.
“So you’re saying that the stone formation in the Indian Ocean is actually a cosmic God-like deity that was turned into ice?” Tony asked as he read the notes Y/N provided them.
“Exactly, Tony. Tiamut was a Celestial until the Eternals and I stopped him from rising,” Y/N said.
“And you’re sure he won’t wake up again?” Steve asked him.
“Not possible, Steve. I saw him die myself.”
“That’s pretty morbid, kid,” Tony joked.
“What? It’s the truth. Besides, Tiamut helped us stop his own Emergence,” Y/N said.
“Why would he do that?”
“Because he showed humanity mercy. He believed the people on this planet deserved to live, so he sacrificed himself for us,” Y/N said.
“What a gentleman,” Tony said. He turned and looked at Y/N. “Good job, kid. You handled an Avengers-level threat and survived. Kudos.”
“Thanks, Tony, but it wasn’t just me. It was all of us working together that saved the day,” Y/N said.
“Gross, kid. You sound like Capsicle now.”
“Very funny, Tony,” Steve said.
Y/N noticed rings on Steve and Tony’s left hands. “So, Bucky and Strange finally proposed?” Steve and Tony looked down at their rings and back up at Y/N.
“Yeah, Buck did. He asked me to marry him,” Steve smiled with a faint blush on his face.
“That’s amazing, Steve. I’m happy for you both.”
“Thanks, Y/N.”
“I never thought I’d see the day when Tony Stark was finally tied down,” Y/N teased.
Tony rolled his eyes. “Kid, please. There’s not a man or woman alive that can tell me what to do.”
“Except Natasha, Carol, and Stephen,” Steve joked.
Y/N laughed at that.
Later that night, Y/N returned home to Ikaris’s apartment as he opened the door and walked inside. Ikaris was out shopping for things, but he wouldn’t tell Y/N what it was for. Wait, why were the lights turned off?
There was a flick of a switch and the room was brightened up as Ikaris stood at the table, a candlelit dinner, with rose petals on the floor. One trail led to Ikaris’s bedroom, the other led to the table. Y/N was speechless. It was so romantic.
“What’s all this, Iceberg?”
Ikaris smiled. “Isn’t it obvious, Duckling? I’m being romantic.”
“I know that, but what’s the special occasion? Trying to get into my pants?” Y/N joked.
“If I wanted that, then all I’d have to do is kiss you silly, and you’d do anything naughty I’d ask you to do,” Ikaris said.
“Oh, really?” Y/N walked towards Ikaris and draped his arms over Ikaris’s head.
“Yup, Duckling,” Ikaris said as he leaned down and kissed the love of his life. The two engaged in a make-out session as Y/N snaked his hands down and up inside Ikaris’s shirt as his fingers brushed against his skin. Ikaris gasped against Y/N’s lips as his warm fingers brushed against his abs. Y/N smirked. “Not so tough now, Iceberg?” Y/N thought. Y/N tugged and tried to pull off Ikaris’s shirt, but the Eternal knew they couldn’t do this. At least not yet, anyway.
“D-Duckling? Dinner. Remember?” Ikaris said in between kisses. Y/N groaned in disappointment. He wanted to continue this, but Ikaris was right. He worked hard on this dinner and they could continue this after dinner, so…
Y/N pulled back as he caught his breath and looked at Ikaris. “We’re not done. After dinner, you’re mine.”
Ikaris smirked. “Yes, sir.”
They ate the dinner that Ikaris made and drank as they talked and laughed. They just enjoyed each other’s company. They hadn’t done this since that day that Ikaris left for London to find Sersi and Sprite. After dinner, Y/N helped Ikaris clean up and washed the dishes as the two settled on the couch, trading kisses and chocolate-covered strawberries. Ikaris’s shirt was off, his muscled tone hairy chest was out for display. His large hands rubbed up and down Y/N’s back. Y/N melted into Ikaris’s touch. It felt so good.
Y/N kissed Ikaris hard before detangling himself from him and stood up. Ikaris looked up at him, a noticeable tent in his pants. “And just where do you think you’re going?”
“I’m going to go wash myself. And if you’re lucky, I’ll leave the door unlocked while I shower,” Y/N invited with a wink.
Ikaris watched him go as he reached into his pocket and brought out the ring he was going to use to propose to him. He’s proposed before in Westview, but that was a completely different situation. Ikaris wanted to spend the rest of his life with Y/N, even if Ikaris would outlive Y/N. He wanted him so much. Ikaris looked down at his tight pants as he unbuttoned them and pulled them down along with his underwear as he stood up and walked to join Y/N in the shower, naked.

Golden Light & Shields Chapter 5
Ikaris x Male Reader
A/N: Sorry for the late update. School’s a bitch.
Tumblr media
All the Eternals, minus Makkari, Karun, and Y/N, walk through the deserts of Iraq with the intended destination of locating the Domo. They followed Phastos, as he had a tracking device that could locate their ship. Phastos and the others stop as they look at a digging site. The ground begins to shake and break apart as the things on top of the surface begin to cave in, but something rises from the dust and causes a whirlwind of dirt to go flying everywhere. Karun is filming with a camera as he witnesses the incredible sight. “The Domo. Wow.”The star-ship rises out of the dirt trench and into the air. This was so cool. Like the Helicarrier, or a Quinjet.
“How are we gonna get up there?” Y/N asked, looking down into the trench.
Ikaris smiled. “Like this.”
He swept Y/N off his feet and began to float in the air as he headed towards an opening in the ship. Once Ikaris safety put Y/N back on his feet; he went down and one by one brought everyone onto the ship until they were all together.
Karun was in front of them videotaping as Kingo talked in an eerie voice. “A foreboding atmosphere fills the air. An eerie stillness chokes our lungs.”
Phastos frowns. “What are you doing? You know you’re creeping us out. You know that, right?”
“Yeah, Kingo. This is a documentary. Not a horror movie,” Y/N said.
There is a loud popping noise as Phastos jumps and screams. “Oh! Oh, God!” He looks at Thena. “Stay calm, T, please!” They all look down and see Thena stepped on a bag of chips. Y/N giggles. Phastos picks up the bag and chuckles nervously. “Chips. It’s just chips.”
Kingo looks at the camera. “As you can see, being an Eternal does not preclude you from having human emotions such as cowardice.”
They walk inside the main room and see it’s littered with different items from across the world. It’s actually kind of cool. “What has she done? Is that… a sarcophagus in my lab?” Phastos asks, heading to his lab. They all look around as Kingo introduces a woman sitting on a throne, reading a book. “This is Makkari. Or should I say Miss Havisham? None of us have seen her for centuries.”
Makkari set her book down and smiled. She talks to them in sign language. “Ready to go home?”
“Hmm.”
Phastos is working a big construct as images flash in the air as he works on a plan to deal with Tiamut. Thena grabs a sword, swings it, knocking a suit of armor helmet to the side.
“Is that the Ebony Blade?” Sprite asks Thena as she puts down a scroll.
“Excalibur,” Thena smiles. She swings it and makes a clean cut through the air.
“Arthur always did have a crush on you,” Gilgamesh said.
Kingo and Makkari are signing to each. “So you mean… I’ve been waiting for centuries to go back to Olympia, and now you’re telling me… it doesn’t exist?” Makkari asks.
“That, and the world is ending,” Kingo signs back.
“At last my boredom is ending.”
“Have you seen my movies?” Kingo asks her.
Makkari frowns. “I don’t have a DVD player.”
“DVD? It’s all about streaming now. You know, what you need is a Kindle,” Kingo says. “Do you know what that is? It’s like a… You know, I just realized that if you don’t know what an iPad is, there’s almost no way to explain it.”
Ikaris, Y/N, and Druig are digging through the different items. Druig finds a box of Twinkies and Ikaris finds the Emerald Tablet. They both look at each other, then at the item in the other person’s hands. They both want what the other person has. They trade items and glare at one another as Ikaris opens the box and Druig looks at the tablet. Y/N chuckles. “Boys, play nice.”
“Do you want one, Duckling?” Ikaris asks Y/N.
Y/N takes the wrapped sponge cake and unwraps it and takes a bite of the creamy deliciousness. “So good.”
“I bet that’s not the only thing you’d love to put in your mouth,” Druig smirks.
“Shut it, ya dobber,” Ikaris says.
Makkari looks at Ikaris, Druig, and Y/N. She points to the young hero. “Who’s that?” She asks Kingo.
“That is Y/N Maximoff. Ikaris’s superhero boyfriend,” Kingo signs back.
“Boyfriend? Ikaris?” Makkari signs, a shocked look on her face.
“Right? I was shocked too. Because I never thought the Boss would be interested in men, but you know me, no judgment,” Kingo rants.
Druig comes up to them holding the Emerald Tablet, a smirk on his lips. “So, how did you end up scoring this…” he shows Makkari the tablet as she tries to grab it from him, but he pulls the tablet back. “Emerald Tablet, my beautiful, beautiful Makkari?” She snatched the tablet out of Druig’s hands.
“Did you miss me?” Druig signs to her. Makkari smiles.
“I’m sorry. What are we watching? Because this…” Phastos signs to Makkari. “Are you two…”
“Is this new?” Kingo asks. “Because I hate it.”
“Oh, come on, you guys. I think it’s sweet,” Y/N says. “It proves Druig does have a heart after all.” Druig glares at Y/N.
Y/N turns to Makkari and signs to the deaf Eternal. “Ikaris says you’re fast. So are my brother and I. We should have a race sometime.”
Makkari is shocked at first, but smiles. “Sounds like fun, but promise me you won’t cry when you lose.”
“I promise,” Y/N smiled.
“I didn’t know you knew sign language, Duckling,” Ikaris said.
“Clint taught me.”
“Phastos, I need to control the mind of a Celestial,” Druig says.
“Okay, get ready for it,” Phastos says and signs. He puts an image on the screen for everyone to see.
“Bracelets?” Kingo asks. “You made us bracelets?”
“So, here’s a little Celestial 101.Celestials are the most powerful energy generators in the universe. When Arishem made us, he imbued us with infinite cosmic energy to keep our bodies regenerating,” Phastos says. “The bracelets, in theory, shut down our regeneration process. And once that happens, our bodies accumulate extra cosmic energy.”
“What for?” Sersi asks.
“Well, if the Deviants can absorb our energy, what if we can absorb each other’s energy as well?” Phastos looked around. “If I can find a way to connect us all, one of us could become immensely powerful, pulling the accumulated energy from the rest, forming… a Uni-Mind.”
There’s a giant brain with mini versions of the Eternals combining energies together, an image to emphasize the point. Phastos looks at everyone with a smile on his face, proud of what he’s just announced. Everyone is silent. Phastos frowns. “Uni” meaning “one,” “mind” meaning “mind.”
“Oh, no, we heard you the first time,” Kingo said.
“Terrible name,” Sprite says.
“We’ll brainstorm… Brainstorm! That’s a way better name!” Kingo smiles.
“No, I invented it, so I’m calling it whatever I want,” Phastos says.
Y/N looked at the images. “So, you want everyone to combine their cosmic energy and transfer it to one of you to amplify your own abilities?”
“Exactly. See, someone gets it,” Phastos says.
“Like my friend, Carol, who, when she absorbs enough energy, enters a ‘binary form’ that makes her way more powerful. Powerful enough to go toe to toe with Thanos and take a punch from the power stone,” Y/N said.
“So suppose Druig can, say… put Tiamut to sleep. Then what?” Makkari asks.
“We find humans a new home on another planet,” Sersi said.
“Are we building a big ship, too? Take a pair of each animal?” Sprite sarcastically says.
“Well, you know what’s never saved the planet? Your sarcasm,” Phastos says.
“Space colonization could take decades,” Sprite protests.
“It can happen quickly with our help,” Sersi said.
“What if we end up accidentally killing Tiamut? We could be responsible for billions of lives not being created across the universe,” Kingo looks at Ikaris. “Boss, am I right?”
“Say something, Ikaris,” Sprite demands. “You don’t think we should be doing this.”
They all look at Ikaris expectantly. Ajak knows that look. The weight of pressure about making the hard decisions. She's had to do that for centuries now, and it never gets any easier.
“Why are you all looking at me? Ajak is still here, she’s still the leader,” Ikaris says.
“Forget that. You’re the strongest. You should be making this decision,” Sprite says.
“Hey, I'm deeply hurt, Sprite,” Gilgamesh says.
Ikaris is silent. Sprite rolls her eyes. “Fine. Just keep lying to yourself.” she storms off.
“Sprite,” Y/N calls.
Ikaris begins to walk away as well. “Okay, this is not…” Phastos starts as Kingo and Y/N follow after Ikaris. “Ikaris.”
“Don’t run after him. Kingo, Y/N, I… You guys.”
Y/N and Kingo follow Ikaris down the hall. “Hey. Don’t sweat it. Sprite’s always cranky. I used to hear her complaining even when she wasn’t there,” Kingo says.
“I’m okay, Kingo,” Ikaris says.
“You don't seem fine,” Y/N noted.
“If you think we should do this, I trust you. I will follow you to the end, like I always have,” Kingo said.
“What did you say?” Ikaris eyed Kingo.
“I will follow you to the end, like I always have, Kingo repeats.
“I’m not who you think I am,” Ikaris says, walking away from Y/N and Kingo.
Y/N sighed. “I'll go talk to him.” He follows after Ikaris, who flies off the ship and to the ground below. Y/N sighed again. How was he supposed to get down?
Y/N floated down towards the modern-day version of Babylon. Ikaris was standing in the middle of rocky hills as Y/N walked towards him, sand on his shoes. “I couldn't get down. I thought about throwing myself off the ship and creating a crater in the process,” but thank God for telekinesis,” Y/N smiled.
“How'd you find me?”
“I know a thing or two about tracking, and I saw you fly in this direction.”
“I’ve thought about this place a lot. Amazing how things change over time,” Ikaris looks around.
“Maybe you've changed. And maybe that's not such a bad thing,” Y/N said.
“You know, I’ve always thought of the Celestials like the ocean. They give life and they take life away without bias,” Ikaris looked at Y/N. “If they were gone, this universe would eventually end. What we’re trying to do is free humanity from the natural order of things.”
“It’s not natural to allow all life on an entire planet to be destroyed, but that's not what's really bothering you, is it?” Y/N said.
Ikaris sighed. “Just now, everyone was turning to me for answers and reassurance. And I couldn't give them that.” he looked at Y/N. “Why me? Ajak is still alive and should be making this call, not me.”
“It's okay to be afraid. It's a human emotion.”
“I'm not human, remember?”
“Yes you are. To me you are.”
Y/N put a hand to Ikaris's chest. “Feel that? My hand on your beating heart?” Y/N asked. Ikaris nodded his head.
“That's why everyone turned to you today. It's because they look up to you. They value your advice and know your heart is pure and strong enough to make this decision,” Y/N said.
“What if I'm wrong, Y/N?” Ikaris asked him. “What if we make things worse instead of better?”
“They couldn't get much worse than they already are, Iceberg,” Y/N reminds him. “If things do indeed get worse, then we'll deal with it. I've faced the impossible before and won. This time won't be any different.”
“Are you willing to bet our lives on that?”
“Are you willing not to?”
“So, you’d be willing to move to a new planet if it came down to it?” Ikaris looked down at Y/N.
“Yeah, I would. As long as you, my family, and friends are there by my side. Also, if this new planet has a (favorite restaurant or fast-food joint).”
Ikaris smiled. “I’m in love with you, Duckling. I’m grateful for the life I’ve lived with you.”
“Me too, Iceberg. I’ve wanted to be happy for so long and now I am. I'm not giving that up without a fight,” Y/N says.
“Do you really think you could be happy with me? An Eternal who never grows old?” Ikaris said.
“Always,” Y/N leans up and kisses Ikaris on the lips. Y/N feels Ikaris' warmth as a vision enters his mind, making him gasp. Y/N sees Ikaris, but it's not his Ikaris. He had no idea how he knew that or that this was on another Earth in another dimension, but he just knew. The events were happening just like they are now. The only difference is that Ikaris betrayed his friends, killed Ajak in the name of Arishem. There was no Y/N on this planet, and even if there were, it was too late.
Y/N gasps again as the vision leaves him. Ikaris looks at him, concerned. “What’s wrong Duckling? What happened?”
Y/N licks his lips and tries to process everything he just saw. Ikaris was a traitor to his friends. It wasn't possible. “I-I saw you. In another universe and you didn't want to stop the Emergence, but let it happen. You killed Ajak and betrayed the others.”
Ikaris was silent. A shocked look on his face. “I swear I would never—”
“—I know Ikaris. I'm not sure why I saw that vision. Maybe it's one of my new powers? To see the same events, but on different earths?”
“What kind of power is that?”
“Dr. Strange once used the time stone and astral projection to see different possible futures. Maybe it's like that,” Y/N said.
“Maybe,” Ikaris said.
“Hey, come on. I know you’re no Benedict Arnold.”
“Why would you see that? See me?” Ikaris asked.
“Maybe it's a clue.” Y/N said. “I think it's a clue on how to use the Uni-Mind. We should tell the others, because I have an idea.” Y/N began to walk in the direction of the ship.
“Y/N?” Ikaris called.
Y/N turned to him. “Yes?”
“Nothing,” Ikaris said as he followed Y/N, putting the ring back in his pocket.
They head back to the ship and find Ajak hunched over. They rush to her. “What's wrong with her?”
“It’s started. The Emergence has commenced,” Ajak says.
“Oh, no. My God.”
“What about the Uni-Mind?”
“I haven’t figured out a way to connect us, but I’m close. I’m very, very close,” Phastos said.
“How much longer?” Sersi asks.
“I don’t know, Sersi!” Phastos says.
Phastos grabs a device and hands it to Makkari. “Find the point of emergence.” She races off.
Druig and Thena are looking at a painting. “You always knew the end was coming. It must be a relief.” Druig looks at her.
“That Deviant is still tracking us,” Thena says.
“Revenge won’t bring peace for you, Thena.”
“But killing it might,” she smiles.
Ikaris grabs Y/N’s hand and leads him to another room in the Domo. It’s an empty room with a hologram of Arishem. Y/N frowns as he looks at Ikaris. “Where are we, Iceberg?”
Ikaris smiles. “Somewhere special.”
“If this is your way of getting a quickie before battle, then you can forget it,” Y/N said.
“That is the last thing on my mind right now, Duckling. Though, I do prefer to do it in the sands of Babylon,” Ikaris smiled.
The Eternal walked towards a wall and put his back flat against it. Before Y/N could ask what he was up to, there was a symbol on the wall that flashed as golden wires began to come out and inched towards Ikaris as they created his superhero costume over his clothes. His costume was blue with golden accents of different symbols on the suit, mixed together with armor. Ikaris stepped away from the wall and smirked at Y/N. “So, what do you think?” He asked, referring to his suit.
Y/N smiled. “It’s awesome, Iceberg. Really cool.”
“Thank you. I think we just might have to get you one, too. If you’re going to officially join the team,” Ikaris said.
“Wait? You want me to join your team?” Y/N asks.
“Of course, you’ve already proven you can handle Deviants. And everyone else would agree with me by asking if you’d like to be a part of the Eternals?”
Y/N was shocked, but also honored that these people he only just met a few days ago wanted him to be a part of them. “I’d love too, Ikaris.”
“Well, in that case. Right this way.” Ikaris led Y/N to his wall symbol as Y/N put his back to just like Ikaris had. The wires began to descend on Y/N as they began to create a suit of armor over his original hero costume. They went down his arms and legs as they created a suit similar to Ikaris’s, except Y/N’s was a light blue with red symbols, boots and fingerless gloves. Y/N looked down at his new suit before looking up at Ikaris with a smirk. “What? No cape?”
“Look again, Duckling.” Ikaris pointed behind Y/N’s back. A yellow cape formed from his shoulders down his back, past his calves. “This is so cool!” Ikaris smiled at his boyfriend’s enthusiasm. “Thor, eat your heart out.”
….
Y/N and Ikaris walk back into the room as the others discuss their plan of action. They look at Y/N and Ikaris in costume. Ready for action.
“Nice suit, Y/N,” Kingo says. “You did a great job Boss.”
Y/N blushed. “Thank you.”
“So where are we with the Uni-Mind? Any progress?” Ikaris asks.
“No. I can’t seem to make it work,” Phastos says.
“It’s okay, Phastos. I think I have an idea of how to make it work,” Y/N tells him.
“How?” Ajak asks.
“With the sphere inside you,” Y/N points to Ajak’s chest. “The sphere inside you lets you connect with Arishem, right?”
“Yes, that's correct.”
“Well, what if Phastos could take it out of you and reverse engineer it and create a connection between all of you instead?”
“And that could theoretically create the Uni-Mind. Y/N, that's brilliant!” Phastos said.
“Great.”
“But umm, I have to take it out of Ajak to use it.”
Ajak steps forward. “Do it then.”
“Okay.” Phastos’s hands glow as he uses his cosmic powers to try and pull the sphere out of Ajak safely.
“Don't kill her,” Thena says.
“Thena…”
“Do it, Phastos,” Ajak says.
Phastos concentrates as he tugs at the sphere inside Ajak and brings it forward. Her neck glows and a golden sphere comes out and levitates itself to Phastos.
“Will it work?” Sersi asks as Phastos breaks the shell covering the energy stone inside. “It has to.” Phastos uses the power from Ajak’s sphere and uses it to make the bracelets for the Uni-Mind. Taking out pieces he doesn't need until it's ready to go. Phastos smiles at his finished invention.
The other Eternals prepare for battle as they get their armored suits on. Even Sprite comes back from her little temper tantrum. They are all wearing the bracelet that Phastos made, connecting them together. Makkari found the point of the Emergence. Tiamut was located in an active volcano in the Indian Ocean.
The Domo flew towards the volcano as the Eternals and Y/N knew their mission. The Domo landed on the ground as Y/N, Ikaris, Sersi, Makkari, and Druig got off. The others stayed behind in the Domo but would come help if needed. Makkari and Y/N used their speed to zoom themselves and the others close enough for the Uni-Mind to work, but not close to the volcano.
“It’s time to put a god to sleep,” Sersi said.
Y/N looked at Druig. “Are you ready for this?”
Druig looks at Y/N. A frown on his face, but something gentle in his eyes. “When I die, you stay away from my funeral.”
“Deal,” Y/N chuckles.
Druig turns the bracelet on his wrist and activates it as it spins and so do Sersi's, Ikaris’s, and Makkari’s. Sersi, Ikaris, and Makkari float in the air as their energy is transferred to Druig and so is everyone else's. The power of all Eternals combined into one. It's an incredible sight. Druig focuses on putting Tiamut to sleep and it works. The active volcano begins to quiet down as the lava recedes back into the volcano. Y/N is so invested in what’s happening with the volcano that he doesn't see the humanity-Deviant charging towards him until he feels it slam a cosmic fist into his body. Y/N flies back and rolls on the ground, wondering what the hell just hit him. The young Avenger looks up and sees it’s the Deviant. The creature’s tendrils shootout and latch onto Druig, absorbing his power. It bites on Druig’s neck, who groans as his energy is being drained and in pain.
“No!” Y/N cries as he runs at the Deviant and two go rolling on the ground as Y/N slams into him. The others begin to awaken from their broken connection as Makkari notices Druig on the ground and rushes to him. Ikaris and Sersi see Y/N fighting the head Deviant as the creature latches its tentacles on Y/N. Wrapping around his arms and legs, making it impossible to move. Y/N struggles to break free. Ikaris flies forward and slams into the Deviant as he flies them up into the air, punches thrown back and forth as the two struggle against each other, as they turn down into a nosedive, heading towards the ground.
“Ikaris!” Y/N calls looking up at them falling towards the ground, near the volcano. He runs after them, keeping his eyes on the sky and follows over to the place that they landed at. Y/N looks down at the crater they made, but there's no sign of Ikaris. Y/N scans the area and sees there's a cave. The sound of fighting, optical blasts, grunting, and screaming can be heard, echoing through the walls of the cave. Then there's silence. Y/N rushes over and just stops at the entrance of the cave. He peers into the dark cave.
“Iceberg! Are you okay?” Y/N calls out as his voice echoes. No answer. Y/N is about to walk inside when something slams into him and pushes him back. Y/N realized its laser vision. Ikaris comes out of the cave, eyes glowing gold as he looks at Y/N and blasts him again. Y/N is pushed back as his body takes in the cosmic energy. Y/N’s eyes flash blue as he creates a shield, blocking the attack. “Iceberg? What are you doing?”
The Deviant comes out of the cave and looks at Y/N with an eerie smile on its face. “That's enough, Ikaris. For now.” Ikaris obeyed like a good dog and stopped his attack on Y/N.
“What did you do to him?” Y/N demands.
The Deviant smiled again. “I've done nothing but show Ikaris, who’s truly in charge here.”
“You’re controlling him?” Y/N asked.
“Yes, I am. The most powerful Eternal at my beckoned call,” the Deviant said, sounding like Pennywise the Dancing Clown. “I wanted to control all their minds, but I only took enough energy to control one Eternal.”
“Why are you doing this?” Y/N said. “The world is about to end and we almost stopped it until you ruined it.”
“I was trapped in ice for centuries as your boyfriend and his fellow Eternals killed my kind. I shall have retribution for their sins. They’ll learn what it’s like to be hunted down like wild animals. You won't stop me, Y/N.”
“Wanna bet?” Y/N asked, a red orb in his hand.
“Now, now, no need for that. Let's have a civilized chat. You may call me Kro.”
“I prefer to call you Pennywise.”
“I like you. You have spirit.” Kro turned to Ikaris. “Ikaris, kill your fellow Eternals, starting with the one who’s power I just absorbed. Don’t stop until they’re all dead.” Ikaris nodded and flew in the direction of Druig and the others.
“I’m not gonna let you hurt anyone else,” Y/N said.
“Oh, it’s not me that humanity should fear,” Kro said. “They should fear you and your sister, Wanda. Harbingers of Chaos.”
“How did you know—”
“—I know many things about you, Y/N. I absorbed your energy as well, remember?” Kro looked at Y/N eyes slightly red. “You are part mind singularity. And something else entirely, but still dangerous.”
“Want me to show you just how dangerous I can be?” Y/N asked.
“You and I are a lot alike, Y/N,” Kro said.
“I am nothing like you,” Y/N protested.
“But you are. Whether you want to admit it or not, you and I take power from those undeserving of it. Just like your friends Ajak, Gilgamesh, and Druig.”
“I don’t kill those I absorb energy from. You see, the difference between you and me is that you kill them on purpose,” Y/N said.
“Survival of the fittest.”
“Yeah, well, this time. I’m the apex predator. You're the prey,” Y/N’s hands glowed.
“We shall see about that.” Kro lifted a hand and a red ball of energy came out of it as he pulled Y/N towards him with telekinesis. The Deviant clasped his tendrils onto Y/N’s body and absorbed the energy inside his body.
“Yes! I want all of it, Y/N!” Kro began to glow with Y/N’s power. The young Maximoff could feel his powers being siphoned away from him. Y/N glanced up and saw the Deviant growing and changing with his powers. If he didn't do something, then Kro would be too powerful to stop. Y/N could feel that spark of his power inside himself. The part of himself he would never use, but needed at this moment. He latched onto it. He looked at Kro. “You want my power? Take it! I don't want it.” He poured out everything he had into this effort as Kro relished in his newly acquired powers. “There's more. I want it all.”
“Be careful what you wish for, Kro. You just might get it,” Y/N said as his eyes flashed red as he held out his hands and used his powers, and pulled back the energy Kro stole from him. Kro groaned as all the energy he had just absorbed was taken from him. Y/N used his telekinesis and freed himself from Kro’s tentacles.
The leader of the Deviants looked at Y/N, shocked. “How did you do that?”
“It's my power, Pennywise. Whether I want it or not, it's mine and I won't let you use it to hurt anyone,” Y/N used the energy he took back and concentrated it into a blast of power as he blasted Kro back and onto the floor. Kro groaned from the blast as he looked up as Y/N walked towards him, looking down. “Don't worry, Kro. I won't kill you. That's reserved for someone else.”
With that said, Y/N speeded off after Ikaris and the others as he arrived just in time to see Ikaris grab Druig from the ground by his neck. “I should’ve done this five centuries ago.” He lifted them both in the air as he let Druig go and blasted him with his optical vision to the ground below them. Makkari let out a wail as Druig hit the ground and groaned from the blasts being buried underneath the ground. Ikaris turned and set his sights on the Domo. He flew towards it.
“Iceberg, no!” Y/N cried out as Ikaris’s lasers tore through the underside of the ship, ripping through it easily. He blasted the top part as well as the ship began to fall down and headed towards the ground of the volcano. Sersi held out her hands defensively at the oncoming ship. Makkari used her speed to move her out of the way as Y/N held out his hands in front of him as the ship slammed into him, as he tried to slow it down. Dirt was flying everywhere as Y/N’s feet dug into the dirt of the ashy ground. Y/N grunted as he pushed back, trying to put the Domo to a stop.
When the ship finally stopped, Y/N sighed with relief as Makkari ran inside the Domo and brought everyone out. One by one. Ikaris floated down to the ground. “Druig’s gone. It’s over.”
“Boss, what are you doing?” Kingo asked.
“Ikaris attacked Druig,” Sersi said.
“Hold on Sersi, it wasn't his fault—”
Y/N was interrupted from explaining as Makkari glared at Ikaris and super sped towards him and began to knock him into some rocks. “Makkari, stop!” Y/N chased after them. Ikaris tried to blast her as she slammed him into a wall, pushing his head against it. Ikaris grabbed her arm and threw her off him. Just as she was about to run at him again, Y/N got in between them. He looked at the speedster Eternal and signed to her what was going on. “Ikaris is being mind-controlled by a Deviant. Take Ajak and Kingo and find Druig. Tell Sersi and Phastos to find another way to stop the Emergence. The Deviant is on the west side of the volcano. Thena and Gilgamesh will be happy about that. Bring Sprite to me.”
Makkari nodded and ran back to the others to explain everything Y/N had just told her. Y/N turned to his boyfriend, who glared at him. His blue eyes that Y/N loved so much looked so cold and unfeeling at the moment. “Iceberg. It’s me. It’s Y/N. You don’t have to do this.”
“I know I don’t have to. I want to,” Ikaris said.
“You don’t want to hurt your family. Or me,” Y/N said.
“You’re wrong about that one, Y/N. I do want to hurt you.” Ikaris rose in the air, eyes glowing as he flew towards Y/N. Y/N charged forward as well. Ikaris came down as Y/N dodged his crashing fist. The ground cracked underneath it. He turned to Y/N and attacked him as the younger man tried to block and dodge his attacks. Y/N avoided most of the attacks, but Ikaris got a good hit and punched him in the face. Y/N staggered back as Ikaris grabbed him by the throat. Y/N groaned as Ikaris’s hand closed around his throat. He slammed his fist down on Ikaris’s arm as he let go of Y/N and the young hero slammed his fist into Ikaris’s chest, pushing him back. Ikaris smirked at Y/N. “That's it, Y/N. Come on.” He grabbed Y/N and slammed him against the rocky wall behind them. “Let go, Y/N. Show me what you can really do.”
Everything inside Y/N was urging him to fight back. To shove Ikaris off him and show him what he could really do, but he wouldn't do it. He wasn't going to lose control or hurt Ikaris.
“Don't hold back. Give me all that you have.”
“No. I won't do it,” Y/N said.
“Do it!”
“No, I won’t. I won’t hurt you, Ikaris.”
“Fine, I'll just make you then,” Ikaris said as he rained punches down on Y/N. Y/N tried to hold back as everything in his body was telling to let go. Give into his power. Defend himself. “Stop.” Y/N pleaded. Ikaris wasn’t listening to him as he kept up his attack. Y/N’s eyes flashed red as his voice boomed. “ENOUGH!” Y/N pushed Ikaris back with a telekinetic blast, sending the Eternal sprawling to ground, hard. When Y/N realized what he did; he was horrified. “Ikaris! I’m sorry I didn’t mean to—”
That's when the Volcano erupted.
….
Lava flowed from the sides of the volcano as a debris called tephra rained from the skies. The Eternals prepared to defend themselves. Thena cut through a molten rock with her sword. Phastos created some weapons and blasted the rocks. Ajak, Sprite, and Makkari stood behind Kingo and Gilgamesh as they blasted and punched the falling debris. Sersi turned a rock into some birds. Sersi looked at the ground and then at the volcano. She had to do something. She had to try and stop this. “We do as Y/N said.” She begins walking towards the volcano.
“Phastos. I have to try and stop this. I need to get closer to Tiamut,” she said. Phastos put a hand on her shoulder. “Let's go. I've got you.” They ran towards the volcano.
Gilgamesh looked at Thena. “Y/N said the Deviant is in a cave on the west side of the volcano. What do you say, Thena?”
Thena smiled as she formed a spear and shield. “Let's go hunting then.”
Ajak looked at Makkari as she signed to her. “Take Sprite to Y/N and come back and we'll find Druig. Together.” Makkari nodded as she grabbed a hold of Sprite and super sped her to Y/N and Ikaris, then came back to get Ajak and Kingo and ran them in the direction Druig crashed in.
Ikaris blasted the incoming rocks with his lasers as Y/N punched them or moved them out of the way. Y/N looked at Ikaris. “You have to stop, Iceberg. If you don't, then everyone on this planet will die.”
“If this world ends so a Celestial can rise, then I support Arishem’s design,” Ikaris said.
“This isn't you talking. It's the Deviant.”
“Y/N!” the Avenger turned to see Sprite standing there. Ikaris looked at Sprite as well and smiled. It was a manic one. “Sprite, so glad you could join the party. I wanted to kill Phastos next, but you'll do.” Ikaris fires his optical beams at her as Y/N ran in front of her and put up a shield. Both opposing forces pushed back and forth.
“How do we break the Deviant’s hold on Ikaris?” Sprite asked.
“If Gilgamesh and Thena can kill it first, then Ikaris will be free, but if they can't in time, we have to find another way until they do,” Y/N said. “I have an idea, Sprite. It's a crazy one, but it just might work.”
“What is it?”
Ikaris stopped his attack as Y/N ran up to him and turned back to Sprite as a wave of dirt blinded Ikaris for a moment. Y/N told Sprite about his plan as she looked at him shocked.
Ikaris glared at them when the dirt had cleared. “I'm going to enjoy killing you both.”
Y/N ran towards Ikaris, fist raised as he threw a punch. A punch Y/N knew he would catch. Ikaris caught Y/N’s fist with his palm. He pushed his palm down on Y/N’s fist, cracking his knuckles as he did. Ikaris turned Y/N around and put him in a headlock.
Thena and Gilgamesh walked into the cave Y/N said, near the ocean. It was really quiet inside. The only sounds they could hear were their breathing and the sound of their feet walking on the ground and the sound of the wind. Thena had her weapons raised, ready to fight. Gilgamesh looked at her and smiled. “Remember when we journeyed with Jason and the Argonauts?”
“I remember it well. The Deviants that looked like harpies and one was a giant Kraken.”
“Good times,” Gilgamesh chuckles. He looked at Thena. “Stay here. Say it.”
“Not this time, old friend,” Thena said.
That’s when they heard an eerie voice whisper. “Thena.” The warrior Eternal looked around, trying to find the source of the voice. “Oh, you’ve changed. You’re broken. Damaged. Useless. You can’t protect any of them.”
“Come out and show yourself, you bastard!” Gilgamesh said.
“Oh, Gilgamesh. You’re still alive? Looks like when I kill again, this time I’ll make sure it sticks, Kro said.
Thena sensed the Deviant as she formed a shield, just as Kro tried to punch Gilgamesh with his own cosmic fist. She let out a yell as she swiped at the Deviant with her sword as Gilgamesh attacked with his fists.
“Iceberg, I know you’re in there,” Y/N said as Ikaris’s arm drew tighter around his neck. The other one held his head in place. He finally understood the vision he had earlier today. It wasn’t about finding out how to activate the Uni-Mind. It was to warn Y/N about Ikaris. His vision had shown Ikaris from another universe betraying his friends. And his Ikaris from this universe, like it not, had done the same thing. The only difference was that Ikaris wasn’t doing this of his own free will. This was all Kro’s fault.
Almost like Ikaris was reading his mind; the Eternal leaned down and whispered harshly in Y/N’s ear. “When are you going to realize that this is all me, Y/N? You saw that vision of my counterpart. I’m just like him.”
“You’re nothing like him, Iceberg—”
“—Stop calling me that stupid nickname!” Ikaris roared. “I’ve always hated that nickname. And truth be told, Y/N. I hate you too.”
“You’re lying,” Y/N gasped out as a few tears slid down his face. Ikaris smirked as he could hear Y/N’s soft sobs and his body shook beneath him. “Am I? My life was perfect until you came and messed it all up, but now it doesn’t matter because I’m finally going to be rid of you. Once and for all.”
“Do what you want to me, but please don’t hurt the others, Ikaris. If you wanna hurt somebody, hurt me,” Y/N said.
“Oh, don’t worry, Y/N. I’m gonna kill them nice and slow. Too bad you won’t be around to see it,” Ikaris said.
“No matter what happens, Ikaris. Know that I’ll always love you. No matter what.”
“I’ll tell you a secret, Ducking,” Ikaris mocked the nickname he gave Y/N. “I never loved you. You were just a means to an end. I had an itch, and you scratched it,” Ikaris harshly said to the young Avenger. “I can't believe I wanted to ask you to marry me. It was always and always will be, Sersi.” With that said Ikaris’s eyes flashed gold as he used all his strength and snapped Y/N’s neck. A harsh boom echoed on the volcano as Y/N’s body fell to the ashy ground with a thud.
For a moment, all was quiet as Ikaris was breathing harshly. His eyes were still gold until they returned to their crystal blues. He looked down at Y/N’s unmoving body. It was done. Y/N Maximoff was dead, and Ikaris didn’t care one bit.

Golden Light & Shields Chapter 4
Ikaris x Male Reader
A/N: Chapter 4 is finally here.
Tumblr media
Y/N watched helplessly as Ikaris was carried away by a Deviant that looked like a bird, or was it a bat? It didn’t really matter at the moment. Y/N twisted in the air so that his face was facing the ground instead of his back. Y/N’s hands glowed red as he held two orbs in his hand and used his telekinesis to slow down his descent. He landed on his feet as Sersi rushed up to him.
“Y/N, where’s Ikaris?”
“A Deviant took him,” Y/N said.
“What?!” she asks him.
“Señorita y Señor? ¿Estás bien?” A man asks as a Deviant comes behind him.
“¡Cuidado!” Y/N says as he brings up a blue shield just in time, as the Deviant was going to kill the man with its stinger. It looks like a giant squirrel. The man runs to safety as a wolf, Deviant, jumps on top of a house as Sersi calls out. “Clear the camp!” The wolf lunges at Sersi, but Y/N catches it in his hands and throws it back as a blast of energy spheres hits the squirrel.
“Get behind me!” Kingo says as he blasts both of the Deviants.
“One of them took Ikaris,” Sersi said.
“It’s an ambush!” Kingo keeps blasting them. He creates a sphere of energy that knocks both of them into a house as it collapses.
“Very nice, sir!” Karun says, rolling the camera behind a tree.
“Are you mental? Hide!” Kingo says.
“We need action sequences. Sir!” The wolf Deviant emerges from the ruins of the house. “Sprite, get Karun out of here,” Kingo says, sending another blast their way.
“How many cameras did you bring, young man?” Sprite ushers Karun to safety.
The squirrel Deviant jumps on a house and uses its tail to knock out a part of the house, revealing a family hiding inside. Y/N rushes towards the creature and creates a bubble shield around the Deviant as he lifts it into the air and slams it against a tree. “Come on! Sersi says ushering the villagers to safety. Kingo blasts the wolf Deviant back as the people follow Sersi. “This way! Quickly! Come on!” The Squirrel creature recovers as it chases after Sersi and the people of this place as it jumps from house to house, closing in on them.
“Get in! Get in!” Sersi hides them inside the building where Druig had talked to them earlier. Sersi uses her matter transmutation powers to turn the wood into metal as the Deviant swipes her away with its tail as she crashes into a nearby house.
Ikaris is flying through the air, the Deviant at his back. He fires his lasers as it slams into him, and the two stumble in midair. The Deviant gets in front as Ikaris chases after it. Gilgamesh and Thena are in the woods, following after Ikaris. A gold light shines on Thena’s face, the Mahd Wy’ry coming to light. Ikaris slams the bat Deviant to the ground and blasts it in the heart as it falls dead. Sharp tendrils pucker Ikaris’s skin as the Deviant from London comes up behind him. Ikaris grunts in pain as he falls to his knees. The Deviant pounces on top of Ikaris as it rolls him onto his back, leaning down to bite him.
“Ikaris!” Gilgamesh says rushing towards Ikaris and the Deviant as he grabs it and throws it off Ikaris. The creature roars as it shoots its tendrils at Gilgamesh, but he leans back so that they miss him. The Deviant grabs a nearby tree trunk with its tentacles and throws it at Gilgamesh, who uses his exoskeleton energy and blocks it. It grabs two more trunks and throws them as Gilgamesh blocks the incoming assaults.
Thena stands there as a gold light snakes across her skin. Ikaris gets up. “I’ve fought that one before. It’s stronger than the others.” Thena forms an energy spear. Ikaris notices and starts moving back. “No.” Thena swings the spear and tries to stab Ikaris as he moves out of the way.
“Terrible timing, Thena,” Ikaris grunts as he dodges Thena’s incoming strikes. “Thena!”
Gilgamesh watches Thena attack Ikaris, but he can't do anything to help as the Deviant charges at him. Gilgamesh charges up an energy fist as he punches the creature back hard enough to break its jaw. The Deviant uses the energy it took from Ajak to heal its injuries. Thena swipes at Ikaris as he dodges it. She forms two swords and brings them down as Gilgamesh blocks them with his energy exoskeleton. “Stop, Thena!” There's a long bang and a rush of air as the two forces collide.
Sersi crawled out of the wreckage of the house as the squirrel Deviant ran towards her. Shots are fired at the Deviant as it turns around and sees the people of this village with shotguns. The creature knocks some of the people away with its tail. Druig grabs a fallen shotgun and dodges the strikes of the beast’s tail as he shoots it in the back with the shotgun. It roars in anger at Druig as he backs away from it. Sersi transforms part of a tree into water as it is cut down and she transforms the rest of the tree into metal as it tips over and falls on the Deviant and Druig as he barely jumps out of the way.
“Druig!” Sersi said.
Y/N speeds over to them. He sees all the innocent people that Druig is controlling. “Let them go,” Y/N says.
“I don’t take orders from you,” Druig said.
“Are you stupid? Let them go right now!” Y/N said.
“Please. I know you’re better than this,” Sersi pleads.
Druig sighs as he holds out a hand and breaks the mind-controlled connection he has on the people. One of the men looks confused. “Druig. qué está pasando?”
“Go! Get to the river!” Druig commands.
The squirrel Deviant crawls out of the tree and roars.
….
Ikaris scans the area, looking at the three Deviants. The bushes are ruffling as the Eternal looks around nervously as he can hear twigs snapping and a growling noise, their eyes glowing as they get closer. “Gilgamesh. A little help here?” Gilgamesh has Thena safe behind a tree, their hands pushed up against each other.
“Stay here,” Gilgamesh says. “Say it.”
“Stay here,” Thena says.
“Good. You’re okay.”
Gilgamesh leaves Thena as she takes a shaky breath.
The Deviant with the tendrils looks at the saber-tooth tiger and griffin Deviants as they run and fly in the direction of the camp. “They’re headed for the camp,” Ikaris realizes. “Y/N.”
“Go. They need you,” Gilgamesh says as Ikaris looks at him. “Go, Ikaris.” Ikaris floats in the air as he blasts off into the air. The head Deviant shoots its tendrils at Gilgamesh as he stomps hard on the ground as little rocks rise and protect him from the attack.
“Sprite, Y/N, somebody buy me some time!” Kingo says as he blasts the incoming wolf, Deviant. He stops and starts charging an energy sphere. Sprite glows as she unsheathes her dagger and jumps on top of the creatures as she stabs it. It violently swings her back and forth. “Whoa. Whoa!” Kingo continues to charge up his attack. “Can you hurry up?”
Y/N uses his telekinesis to hold the Deviant still and keep it from moving. Kingo stores enough power in his hands. “Now!” Sprite pulls her dagger free as she steps back and disappears. Kingo slides underneath the frozen still Deviant. As he points his fingers at its head. “Dishoom!” The blast blows the wolf’s head off as Kingo is covered in Deviant blood. Kingo gasps as it drips down on him as the body falls to the floor with a thud. “Karun! Did you get that?”
“I did, sir!”
Ikaris flies after the Griffin as he grabs it and flies higher into the air and blasts it with his energy beams. Ikaris blasts it again, hitting its wing as it falls out of the sky. He grabs the wing that isn't damaged and throws it to the ground below as he blasts it once more. Ikaris flies and lands just in time in front of the squirrel Deviant as it tries to attack Druig. Ikaris opens its mouth wide as he fires his laser beams into the creature’s mouth full force; it falls to the floor with a thud, but not before trying to stick Ikaris with its stinger. Ikaris grabs it at the last second and falls to one knee as he tosses it to the side.
He pants as he sees the sabertooth charge at Kingo and Sprite as she creates tree illusions. He blasts it with his energy beams. It runs, dodging the attacks as it leaps up and tackles Ikaris into a house. Ikaris groans as the derby falls all around him. Ikaris struggles to get up as the creature swipes him with its paw and he rolls to the leafy ground. Ikaris blasts and punches it as the sabertooth rolls him on his stomach. The Deviant pushes Ikaris’s head down with its giant paw so he can't get a clear shot for his optical blasts. Ikaris struggles, but can't push the creature off of him as it leans in close to take a bite.
“Ikaris!” Y/N says as he runs and tackles the creature off of Ikaris and they both roll to the ground as Y/N stands to his feet and stands in front of the hurt Eternal. The Deviant stands in front of Y/N. The creature looks at Y/N and roars. Y/N looks down at Ikaris, who is bleeding and has holes in the back of his shirt. Y/N glares at the Deviant, his blood boiling as it circles him. “You tried to kill my boyfriend,” Y/N's voice was like venom as a red orb glowed in Y/N’s right hand.
The Sabertooth snarls in response to Y/N as the young Maximoff lifts the creature into the air. “You endangered these people.” Y/N flicked a finger and ripped one of the creature’s limbs off. It roars in pain and anger. Y/N bared his teeth at the Deviant. “You tried to kill my friends.” Another limb went. Y/N’s hand mixed his red and green energies together. “You're never going to hurt anyone ever again,” Y/N promised, and just like Wanda did to Ultron Y/N, pulled on the energy core inside the Deviant, and tugged it forward until it came out of the creature and into Y/N’s body to absorb. Y/N quickly switched to his blue energy as he created a shield inside the Deviant’s body and expanded it until it exploded.
Blood splattered on Y/N’s face and he looked like Carrie White at prom. He wiped the blood from his face as he turned to Ikaris and the other Eternals, who had a look of horror on their faces. Y/N’s eyes were glowing faintly, and he looked confused and disoriented. Ikaris got up and walked towards Y/N.
“Ikaris, don’t!” Sersi warns.
“It’s alright, Sersi,” Ikaris says. “He won’t hurt me.” Ikaris grabs onto Y/N’s shoulders as the younger man looks up at him. “Come back to me, Duckling. Come back to me, Y/N.” Y/N takes a deep breath and closes his eyes for a moment, then opens them as his eyes are back to normal. Y/N frowns. “Iceberg? What’s going on?” Y/N was confused. He remembers standing in front of Ikaris to protect him from the Sabertooth, but after that, he can’t recall what happened.
“Oh, my God! You’re hurt,” Y/N notices Ikaris’s bruises.
“I’m okay, Duckling,” Ikaris said. “Thena and Gilgamesh are in danger.”
“Where are they?” Ikaris points in the direction that they’re at. Y/N nods his head as he runs in that direction. Ikaris floats in the air and turns and looks at his family. “No one tells him anything until I do first,” he warns as he flies after Y/N as the others look at each other, but follow them as well.
….
Gilgamesh punches the Deviant hard enough back that it breaks its arm in the process. Its claws cast a golden light on its injuries as it uses the healing energy it took from Ajak. Gilgamesh gets ready for another attack as Thena begins to glow. Her Mahd Wy’ry coming to the surface. She tries to turn it off. “Stop, stop, stop,” she begs. The Deviant hears her and sets its sights on the more vulnerable victim. Gilgamesh knows this too as he runs towards Thena, hoping he’ll get there first. “Thena!” The creature roars as it almost has the warrior Eternal as Gilgamesh grabs it and pulls it back and slams his cosmic fist into it. The tentacles of the Deviant wrap around Gilgamesh, digging into his skin as they siphon his energy. The Deviant lifts Gilgamesh up and bites his shoulder, its teeth like hot knives in Gilgamesh’s skin. Thena watches helplessly, trying to shut off her psychological affliction.
Gilgamesh tries to break free by punching the beast, but it doesn’t stop the Deviant from sticking a tendril in his neck. Gilgamesh gasps in pain as the creature drains his life energy and powers. A weakened Gilgamesh looks up and meets Thena’s eyes. The goddess of war has never felt so powerless in her life. She had to watch as her friend, her family, was slowly killed. The Deviant throws Gilgamesh to the floor, leaving just enough energy so that it can take the pleasure of snuffing out that last bit of life as it kills him. Thena watched in horror as the Deviant began to transform. Its paws shrink and take on a more human-like appearance.
Thena kneels next to an injured Gilgamesh. “No. Gilgamesh.”
“Stay back,” Gilgamesh weakly says.
The Deviant shifts and changes until it takes on a human-like appearance. It breathes heavily as it speaks for the first time. “Ajak…” It says. “Her memories… I understand now.” The Deviant looks at the two Eternals.
“I can see what she saw. So many planets. So much life is destroyed every time a Celestial is born. Arishem used us and left us to die with each Emergence. We just wanted to survive.” The human-like Deviant glares at Thena and Gilgamesh accusingly. “And then he sent you. I will kill you all for what you have done to my kind. You are not saviors, Eternals. You are murderers.” The Deviant takes a step towards Thena, but Y/N throws it back with telekinesis and Ikaris blasts it. The Deviant turns and runs away as Ikaris and Y/N are about to chase after it.
“Ikaris!” Thena calls.
Ikaris and Y/N turn to see that Gilgamesh doesn’t look so good. He’s breathing laboriously, his energy fading with every second, every time he breathes. He locks hands with Thena, fingers intertwined. “Thena,” he says, it's hard for him to get the words out.
“Hey,” Thena says, feeling tears start to form.
Gilgamesh looks at her, his vision starting to blur. His best friend. The person he promised to look after no matter how tough it got. Even if it cost him his own life in the process; he'd happily do it again. “Remember,” Gilgamesh chokes out, and he doesn't move again as his head is down and his skin turns to a grayish color.
“No,” Thena sobs. “No.” She puts her head on him and begins to wail loudly. “I’ll remember. I’ll remember.” Ikaris looks down at his feet sadly. Y/N looks at Thena rocking Gilgamesh’s body back and forth, crying over her dead partner. The other Eternals walk up to them and see Thena crying over Gilgamesh’s dead body.
“Ajak, you have to help him,” Y/N says.
The head Eternal looks at Y/N, tears in her brown eyes as she says. “I can not heal the dead, Y/N. Even my powers have their limits.”
“But what if I—”
“—Don't you think you've done enough damage?” Druig asks Y/N. A few tear stains on his face.
Y/N frowns. “What are you talking about, Druig?”
“Don't act like you don't know. We all saw what you did to that Deviant.”
“Druig, that’s enough!” Ikaris shouts out.
“I don’t understand.”
“You ripped that Deviant apart and took its energy,” Druig said. “You’re a monster, just like they are.” He turned and walked away from the group. Y/N looks at the others and searches their faces for any indication that Druig is lying. They either look uncomfortable or they refuse to look him in the eyes.
Y/N turns to Ikaris. “Is what Druig said true, Iceberg?”
Ikaris looks down at him with an unreadable expression on his face. “It wasn’t you. You didn’t know what you were doing.”
“Oh, God,” Y/N felt sick to his stomach.
“Y/N, you didn't have a choice. That Deviant was going to hurt me, hurt all of us,” Ikaris said.
“You saved us, Y/N,” Sersi said.
“But not Gilgamesh,” Y/N replied sadly. He walked towards Thena and Gilgamesh’s body. He knelt down next to the dead Eternal. “I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry,” Y/N sobbed.
“Wait, maybe Y/N can save Gilgamesh like he did Ajak,” Sprite says.
“What are you talking about, Sprite?” Kingo asked.
“Back on my farm, Y/N saved my life by absorbing my healing power and brought me back from the verge of death,” Ajak said.
“Maybe he can do it again,” Sprite said.
“Wait, Sprite, I don't think that—” Ikaris began as Thena interrupted. “Please, Y/N. Please try,” she begged. “He's my best friend.” The way she looked at him was the same way Wanda had looked when Pietro had died. His body full of holes. Y/N had saved his older brother that day, but could he save Gilgamesh as well?
“I'll try,” Y/N said. “But I'll need some help.” He looked at Ajak. “Maybe if both of us try together, it could work.”
“Very well, then let us commence,” she said, holding out her hand for Y/N to take. Y/N grabbed her hand as her cosmic healing was absorbed by Y/N. Y/N wasn't sure he trusted himself to do this, since what Druig said he did, but he couldn't deny Thena this request. He promised Ikaris this wouldn't happen again, and even if there was a small fraction of a chance that he could undo this, then so be it.
Ajak and Y/N held out their hands as they flashed gold and greenish-gold, respectively. The healing energy washes over Gilgamesh in soft cosmic light as they both focus on turning back the hands of fate, reversing what's happened. They stay like that for a long time, until they pull their hands back, but nothing has changed. Gilgamesh is still grayish.
“I'm sorry, Thena, but it didn't work—”
Gilgamesh opens his eyes and gasps loudly as he sits up, bewildered. He turns his head, looking around his surroundings. One minute he was gone, the next he was back here. It was impossible. “You're back,” Thena cries with joy as she tightly hugs him. Tears were falling down her face as she felt Gilgamesh’s warmth once again. It was much better than that cold touch she felt a moment ago. “How the hell am I here?” Gilgamesh asked. He was so confused. He thought he bit the bullet. Over and done.
“Ajak and Y/N saved you,” Sersi said.
Gilgamesh looked at his leader and guide, along with the young Avenger. “Thank you. Thank you both.”
“You're welcome, Gilgamesh,” Ajak smiled.
“I'm glad you're okay,” Y/N said. “Looks like something good came out of the mess I made.”
“Y/N wait—”
Y/N super speeded away from the area and headed towards the camp. Ikaris sighed as he floated in the air, with the intent of following after his boyfriend, but a hand grabbed his arm and he looked back at Sersi. “Wait, Ikaris. Let me talk to Y/N.”
“Why you, Sersi?”
“Sometimes it's better to hear some advice from a stranger, then someone they know,” Sersi said gently. “Trust me.” The way she looked at him was the same look she had whenever she was passionate about something. Helping better mankind, seeing the good in people. It’s part of the reason he fell in love with her in the first place. Ikaris knew she could help Y/N. “Alright, then,” he sighed.
….
Sersi found Y/N down by the river. One of the people at the camp said he headed in that direction. Sersi had practiced what she was going to say in her head, but before she could get a word out, Y/N spoke first. “Ikaris sent you, didn't he?”
“Actually, I asked him if I could come instead,” Sersi said. “Mind if I sit?”
“Sure.”
Sersi sat down next to Y/N, watching the water shimmer under a moonlit sky. It was a beautiful night, despite all the terrible things that happened today. Maybe that's why Y/N chose to come here. The absence of chaos. “Do you want to know why I chose this spot?” Y/N asked, looking at Sersi.
“Why?” she asked curiously.
“There was this fountain in the town square of where we lived and after my parents died and we lived in an orphanage. I used to sneak out and go to it, and I would just stare at my reflection for hours until my mind went numb,” Y/N said. “This reminds me of those days.”
“I assume things were very difficult for you and your siblings in those days,” Sersi said.
“They were,” Y/N agreed. “It's how I became like this in the first place.” He levitated a nearby stone and threw it into the river. “To be honest with you, Sersi, I never wanted my powers to begin with.”
“How did you get them?”
“Through painful experiments. A thirst for revenge and a need for peace in my country,” Y/N said. “I had a difficult time learning to control my powers, but Steve told me that the only way to ever truly be in control of my powers was to embrace them. To accept myself for who I am.”
“And looks like you did,” Sersi said.
“I thought I did, but after Westview, I'm not so sure anymore.”
“Y/N listen… I know that you only just met me and you have no reason to listen to me, but I don't think you did anything wrong,” Sersi said. “You saved us. Saved Gilgamesh. A monster wouldn't have done that for us.”
“But what if next time I hurt someone? What if I hurt you or the others or… Ikaris?” Y/N asked.
Sersi smiled. “Well, from what I've seen today, you wouldn't dream of hurting Ikaris. He cares for you a great deal. And you care for him as well.” Sersi's eyes were downcast to her feet. A sudden sadness washed over her. “I must admit that I'm a bit jealous of you. Your relationship with Ikaris.”
“Why would you be jealous of me? If anything, I should be the insecure one. You both were together for like what? 5,000 years? It's a tough act to follow.”
“And in those last 5,000 years, he’s never looked at me the way he looks at you. So at peace. Finally, free of a heavy burden,” Sersi said.
“I never meant to drive a rift between the two of you—”
“—It’s alright, Y/N. Ikaris and I were falling out long before you came. We just didn't want to admit it.”
“I'm sorry.”
“Don't be,” Sersi said. “I have wonderful memories of my time with Ikaris and I'll always cherish our time together, but now it's your turn. Go to him, Y/N. He’s really worried about you.”
That’s how Y/N found himself walking up to one of the houses in the camp. Ikaris was waiting for him. When he saw Y/N walk through the door; he smiled. “I take it Sersi convinced you to come see me?”
“Somewhere along those lines,” Y/N said. “She’s a very persuasive person.”
“Stubborn is more like it,” Ikaris said as they both chuckled. Y/N looked at Ikaris. “I shouldn’t have left like that, and I’m sorry about it.”
“You don’t have to apologize,Y/N,” Ikaris said.
“I should have just stayed with you and talked about it, but I left because I was scared and the last thing I wanted was to be a burden or distraction in your life. I should have listened to you and went back home,” Y/N said. “This mission is too important and I don’t want to mess it up—”
Ikaris successfully cut Y/N off as he kissed him, snaking an arm around his waist and bringing him closer. The two stayed like that for a moment before Ikaris pulled away, smirking. “Thought that would be a good way to shut you up.”
“It’s a very effective method,” Y/N agreed. “Maybe I need some more, just in case?” Ikaris smiled and kissed Y/N again.
“Y/N, listen to me… You’re not a distraction. You will never be a distraction for me, at least not in a bad way,” Ikaris smiled. “You’re an important asset to this mission, and I might not be standing here talking to you if it weren’t for you. None of us would.”
Ikaris held Y/N close to him. “I don’t know why you have this Chaos Magic inside you, but I have to believe you can control it and use it for good.”
“You really think so?” Y/N asked.
“I know so.”
“Well, what’s our plan of action now? Did Druig agree to help?”
“Not really. He's still defensive.”
“Well, maybe I should go talk to him. We need him, and if I can convince him to come with us, then maybe we might have a chance,” Y/N said.
“Are you sure that's a good idea?” Ikaris asked. “You and I aren't exactly Druig’s favorite people at the moment.”
“Well, Druig isn't exactly on my Christmas list either, but we need to work together and rise above our differences if we want to succeed,” Y/N said.
“Aren't you just the heroic one,” Ikaris jokes.
“Yeah, it comes with the job description,” Y/N smiled.
Early morning Y/N found Druig by the river. He was staring out at the people gathering water from the river. “What do you want?” Druig asked without looking back.
“Druig I—”
“—I already know what you’re going to ask Y/N, and the answer is no.”
“Please, Druig. You can’t stay here anymore,” Y/N said. “You may not like me, but the others need you. Are you really going to let innocent people die?”
“Why should I help this world and its people? They are responsible for their own destruction,” Druig said.
“That’s not true, and you know it. Humanity can do better.”
“Yeah? What makes you so sure?” Druig glares at Y/N.
“Because of them,” Y/N pointed to the people by the water. “They are the reason you still believe people are good and just. Otherwise, you would have controlled them to forget their flaws and inhibitions. So, why didn't you?”
“Because without their flaws, they wouldn’t be human.”
“Exactly, Druig. That's what makes humans human, but these Deviants are trying to keep us from killing their own kind. They have a conscience now. That makes them more dangerous,” Y/N said.
“No, Y/N. That makes them us. Eternals and Deviants,” Druig said bitterly. “Arishem’s children. But you are asking me to take control of the mind of a Celestial. I do not have that kind of power.”
“Maybe not by yourself, but with your family by your side, you can do anything,” Y/N said.
“You'll need Phastos, but good luck. He gave up on humans a long time ago.”
“So, is that a yes? You'll help us?” Y/N hopefully asked.
“If I say yes, will you leave me alone?” Druig said, annoyed, but smiled just a tiny bit.
Y/N smiled too.
….
Y/N, Ikaris, Sersi traveled to Chicago, Illinois to find Phastos and his family. A husband, and a son. A suburban area that reminded Y/N a lot of Westview. A young boy is throwing a football to his dad, as his other dad watches from inside the garage, fixing his son's bike. Y/N smiles at the sight.
“Daddy, Daddy, watch this.”
“Yeah, okay.”
“Watch this.”
“Let me see. Let me see it.”
“Dad. I’m only a starter.”
Phastos frowns when he notices Y/N, Ikaris, and Sersi. “Hi,” Sersi greets.
“Hello. Can we help you?” Ben Stoss, Phastos's husband asks. He throws the football back to his son.
“Hey, Jack. Ben,” Phastos chuckles as he walks towards Y/N and the others. “Hey, guys. These are my friends from college.” He points to each of them. “Uh, this is Sylvia and, uh, Isaac. That’s Isaac. And that's…”
“Y/N,” Y/N smiles.
“Right, Y/N. How are you doing, man?” Phastos smiles tightly.
“Isaac?” Ikaris whispers.
Jack walks up to them and gasps as he grasps his dad's arm in excitement. “Dad, that’s Superman,” he points to Ikaris. “Dad, that’s Superman!”
“Jack… That’s really funny, Jack,” Phastos says, nervously. “That is definitely not Superman.”
“No, no! He is Superman,” Jack protested. “I saw him on TV. He was in London, fighting a monster.” Jack pointed to Ikaris. “And you were with a cape and you were shooting laser beams out of your eyes.”
Ikaris was speechless at the young boy’s description of him. Y/N giggled. “He’s right, Iceberg. You would look good in a cape.” Y/N looked at Jack and smiled. “What color do you think?”
Jack smiled back. “Red. Definitely red.”
“I don’t wear a cape, Duckling,” Ikaris said.
“Oh, sorry,” Jack apologized. He looked at Y/N. “Are you really an Avenger? I’ve seen you on TV with Captain America, Iroman, Hulk, and Thor.”
Y/N’s hand glowed as he flicked a finger and the football floated off the ground and into his hands. “What do you think?”
“That’s so awesome!” Jack said.
“Okay, well, we should just go inside, right?” Phastos said, ushering everyone inside.
“Superman? Me, Superman?” Ikaris said incredulously as they walked inside.“I’m way hotter than him.”
“Have you seen Henry Cavill?” Y/N said. “He smokin hot.”
“Not funny, Duckling,” Ikaris grumbled. Y/N laughed. “Can I call you Clark? Is that what you go by now? Because, you know…”
“You’ve called me worse. Like Daddy, for instance,” Ikaris smirked at Y/N blushing face. He looked absolutely mortified.
Sersi, Y/N, and Ikaris watched Phastos help Jack brush his teeth. “You got it, Jack?”
“Mmhmm.”
“Way to go,” Phastos said.
“Yes,” Jack said.
“All right. Show me how it’s done. Round and round and round and round and round.” They both chuckle.
“They remind you of someone?” Ikaris whispered to Y/N. Y/N smiled sadly. “Yeah, they do.” Phastos turned back and looked at them. Ikaris, Sersi, and Y/N all ran into the kitchen trying to act natural. Sersi grabbed a coffee cup. Y/N grabbed a Star Wars book, but Ikaris took it from him. “Hey, I had that first!” Y/N protested.
Phastos walked into the kitchen. “Yeah. Incredibly natural, guys,” he said as Ikaris put the book down. “So, after all these years, even you fell for Ajak’s lies.”
“No need to rub it in,” Ikaris said.
“Mm. It all makes sense why she wouldn’t let us interfere with human conflicts. Conflicts lead to war, and war actually leads to advancement in lifesaving technology and medicine,” Phastos said. “So our mission was never to make a peaceful or harmonious world, but to increase the population at all costs. Just farming humans as food for the Celestials, right?”
“That’s bleak,” Ikaris says.
“Well, so is telling your husband and your child that they could be dead within a few days,” Phastos countered.
“Druig said you gave up on humans,” Y/N said.
Phastos turned to Y/N. “I got lucky. Okay? I have a family now. They give me faith again. And I see the good in humanity in them every single day.”
“That’s wonderful, Phastos,” Sersi said.
“Look, I cannot help you,” Phastos said “I am never leaving them—”
“—Phastos…”
“I’m sorry, Sersi. It was wrong for me to use my powers without thinking about the consequences in the first place,” Phastos said. “So, now, I choose to use my hands to fix my child’s bicycle, okay?”
“Do you?”
“I don’t use my powers anymore.”
“You sure?” Ikaris asked. His eyes flash gold.
“What are you…”
Ikaris blasts the door nearest to the kitchen table. A shield comes up and blocks the attack. They are all silent for a moment. “What the hell is wrong with you? My child is right down the hallway!” Phastos roars.
“That looks like someone’s been using his powers,” Ikaris smirked.
“Oh, my God.”
“I bet you’ve built the perfect safe house. What is this even made of? Vibranium?”
“Don’t!”
Ikaris slams his fist through the table and splits it in half. Y/N looks at the ruin table in shock. “Iceberg!”
“How was I supposed to know?” Ikaris defended himself.
“That was a fall collection. IKEA. Ass,” Phastos said. “How did you even deal with this guy for over 5,000 years?” Phastos looks at Sersi.
“If you stay here, you might as well invite the Deviants to dinner. Never mind waiting for the end of the world,” Ikaris told him.
“He has a point,” Sersi agreed.
“No, I’m sorry. You can’t just show up in my life and expect me to go with you,” Phastos said.
“Mr. Phastos. I know you don’t know me and I have no right to say this but—”
“—You’re right. I don’t know you and I don’t have to listen to you. Any of you,” Phastos said.
“Habibi. Listen to what they have to say. Ben is standing in the doorway. He nods for Y/N to continue.
“I know what it's like to want to protect your family. Your child,” Y/N began. “I may not look old enough to be a parent, but I was.”
“We both were,” Ikaris said, grabbing Y/N’s hand and squeezing it in comfort.
“Wait? Are you saying you two are… You’re together… Ikaris you’re… How?” Phastos was confused and so was Sersi.
Y/N smiled. “Long story short, my sister trapped us in a sitcom show in a town called Westview. I was waking up, and she used her powers and gave me a baby. Our son. His name was Icarus.”
“What happened to him?” Sersi asked.
“He’s gone. So are my nephews, Tommy and Billy.” Y/N began to cry a bit at the painful memory as Ikaris stood up and wrapped his arms around him, and hugged him.
“You should go, habibi,” Ben said.
“You want me to go?” Phastos asked his husband, shocked.
“You know what my mom would say to you right now, right?” Ben speaks in Arabic. “Quit procrastinating, Phil, and take care of your business.” He looks at the other Eternals and Y/N. “He’s a chronic procrastinator.”
“I’m not leaving you two. No way,” Phastos protests.
“I’m not happy about it, but if there’s a chance for us to watch Jack grow up to live a life of his own, we should take it.”
That night, Phastos tucks his son into bed and kisses his husband goodbye as he walks out in the night with Y/N, Sersi, and Ikaris.
