Oh I was just going to do more research about the momo challenge so i could possibly update that reblog. But I suppose I could just do it right here and now so… here we go (This answer is gonna be LONG):

I know that about 6 months ago there was such thing as “momo”. I didn’t think much of it except for the fact it’s kind of a creepypasta (I saw Coryxkenshin make a gaming video on the game he played that had the “momo” character. 

Time skip to now!

My mom found some kind of article and showed me. I immediately recognized this character as Momo. At first I didn’t believe that it was some kind of challenge and that people were making things up (I guess my first thought was right, huh?). But after seeing it enough within the 48 hours I’ve been seeing these articles I actually believed it. I decided to reblog it now to spread information, and as soon as I did I thought maybe it wasn’t a good idea due to the fact I don’t have ENOUGH info on the whole thing and probably sound like everything is coming from the opposite way I wanted it too. I did more research but before I could reblog and share more info (as an update and reblog on the other post you just saw, anon), I just happened to get your ask.

Now to respond on your ask I must say that even though I haven’t in fact seen the video, I can understand how all of this is still indeed FAKE. So with the articles coming out now (one or two coming out about 2 minutes ago), it seems to be told that someone’s been trying to start a riot on this hoax that they have actually successfully managed to spread. It’s like that Slenderman thing that people were talking about when they said “Oh! This girl killed her best friend to please Slenderman, or something.” when in reality that was just a misconception on the Slenderman LORE plot where in game: Lauren goes looking for her best friend Kate, that Slenderman killed. Then again, that’s just a game! And those rumors were probably also meant to scare children to stop them from playing the game, but I don’t know.

Either way, I’m going to update that other post now, so I hope there’s no misunderstanding on that.

(P.S. I’ve also thought of Momo to be a pretty superb funky little chicken lady, creepy, but still kinda cute. I meant to draw fanart for her probably a week after first learning about her character arc ((back in 2018 or whatnot)), but I wasn’t artisticly talented enough and never really got around to it.)

(P.P.S I can’t tell if I misread it again but people are saying they are ending they’re lives?? I can’t tell at this point and it would be nice if people could explain to me what’s going on because there’s two different stories and I can’t tell which is true.)
