Whoever Jan brought home, had to be heavily scouted, before they could get the Igor-seal-of-approval, a high honour only bestowed to the kindest of people (but Igor wasn’t above bribery).

He took his job of scouting Jan’s friends very seriously and was always ready to do so.

What he didn’t like though was when Jan brought new people over unannounced. Like he did with this guy.
