Nicktoons unite main 4 in their respected styles ( minus jimmy neutron i'll explain more below)

i feel very mixed about these but it was still fun either way studying all of these cartoons respected styles. the final does make me happy, seeing all of them together ^__^ 💞

below i will explain my thought process working with each style so get ready for a wall of text:

first before anything you may be asking: why no jimmy neutron style!? it's because i tried and gave up! i was starting the rendering process for timmy and i hated it so i just didn't continue! no point of making myself miserable for something thats harmless fun style studies. but have these as a little treat:

Fairly Oddparents style: the easiest style to work on and research for, fop style is not that complex. i should also add i didn't draw each style in one sitting i drew each character together and then edited them all, so that might be the reason why some look better then others, i just got good. but i'm saying that because the character i started with was spongebob! specifically because i was tired of ppl thinking dp style and fop style are the same and how spongebob would look the same in both styles, just a flat square. which is wrong! fop style is very different! i would prob describe it as a flat paper style. has sharp and rounded thick lines. the main source of research i used for it was the designer for fop was Ernie Gilbert. he has designed a lot of iconic characters for the show and i highly would check out his work, this is his website

Danny phantom style: now this one was tricky, prob the hardest one to figure out and i honestly don't think i really DID figure it out. the possible reason is i am still trying to go through the show atm myself, but i'd doubt it. they all just look off to me, just a little. which no need for me to work myself in a circle trying to make it "perfect". im no professional character designer! especially not Stephen Silver.

Spongebob Squarepants style: this one was tricky but in the opposite way to dp style, where i didn't know what to reference! to start off the show is mainly nonhuman characters, so finding character refs were hard. the refs i did use were the mermaids and the superheros, so i used that for timmy. but in the middle of working on jimmys i was watching a video of someone ranking every single spongebob ep and TURNS OUT in the later seasons, i think season 13, there were human designs! (technically elfs but whatever).

and weirder thing is how they draw patchy but im not going to get into that. i am assuming that style is for characters that are supposed to be real life humans up on land in that universe (but why not just use real life humans? idk, maybe tom kenny is getting to old for the role). BUT ANYWAY, i used the elfs for a main source for jimmy and danny, they turned out a lot better then the timmy in my eyes. i wanted at least one of them to have the black eyes but they all have bright blue eyes and the show usually always colors blue eyes. i get ahead of myself cause there was a lot more factors i still had to figure out. like the line art. the show doesn't have a clear line style like dp or fop, its just relatively consistent medium lines. so i just went with more recent show stuff then older stuff since it's HD.

ok but thats basically it, i can prob go on more but i'd feel no one gaf. i made these for fun and it was fun making them! i love all of these shows a ton so it was nice looking up the designers and artist for these shows. support the artists!!! fuck bitch fartman!!!!!

i really, truly fell off since making these 😭😭😭😭 im honestly not even confident i could create something of this quality ever again #felloff

i like some of my newer art but its nothing to really write home about. my art has become more self-indulgent compared to squeezing the most 'skill' and 'detalization' out of each piece. i think in the end the process makes me happier (?) but i don't the same pride as looking at some of my older art. to be fair i also spend far less time on art compared to spending like 20 hours straight or days on a piece. frankly im not even sure i could replicate my old pipeline anymore and replicate my skill <- because i fell off!

i cope with the fact i fell off by saying 'im just exploring my own unique artistic vision' <- words from a guy who is simply not that good anymore

4. piece you wish got more love?

idkkk i dont really pay attention to numbers. i only really care/look at comments. i want more taur fans to follow me and talk me about taurs.

furries and creatures

8. thing you struggle to draw?

human faces.... this is sad because humans can be so diverse and interesting to draw but personally every time i draw a human it just looks incredibly ugly and bad (unless heavily stylized and simplified) and i just don't enjoy it as much as furries animals creatures monsters etc.

11. do you listen to anything while drawing?

yes... for my own detriment. especially when i dissociate i just turn on something in the background to 'help me focus' but idk if it actually helps me focus or just makes the dissociation more comfortable

13. talk about a wip you like!

i cant show you but it's a piece with lace and hornet (hollow knight)... i think i actually have a lot of wips with angels actually but i dont wanaaa show anybody

14. whats your favorite thing about drawing?

i dont know. gets scared. i enjoy feling proud and enjoying the final product. recently i also enjoy just drawing bodies and forms and volume. the process of 'god this looks like dogshit' going to 'i actually like this :)' or 'i love this and im proud of this' (if im lucky) is very enjoyable.

17. what is something youre confident about in your art?

i dont knowwwwwwww.... im gonna say im confident about something and someones gonna just tell me that im actually really bad at it. i think maybe volume and 'ambient occlusion' !?

21. what do you think your artstyle would taste like? I dont knowww.... from what people say it would be gummies or candies. but tbh that's just my more 'cutesy' art. i contain multitudes. some of my art probably tastes like dirt from the ground at a factory.

22. do you have a favorite color palette to work with?

i pretty much use these colors (for some reason i rarely use green or yellow. the circled colors are especially common. looking at my art it's a lot of purple, pink, blue, red, some oranges. idk why i gravitate to purple so much. i guess i just like red and blue a lot and ourple is a nice middle ground

(and this doesnt mean i dont like green or yellow my immediate reaction to drawing a creature is just making it these colors. for some reason)

24. whats a compliment about your art that has always stuck with you?

I always feel guilty that i dont like. save peoples comments to a folder so i can remember them better (maybe i should do this). i have a bad memory so i can hardly recall what people say word-for-word. I think I'm very humbled and happy when people say that my art has been meaningful to them in some way or helped them or even just made them happy or more willing to explore things about themselves. I also enjoy the 'i look like this and this made me happy' on my art ❤. that's definitely a part of why i enjoy drawing bodies so much. seeing a comment like 'this made me cry because i've never seen a body like mine represented before in a positive way' is really sad honestly and i wish the world wasn't so unfair and cruel man.

25. what size canvas/paper do you use?

i usually use a preset in photoshop for A4 or A3 paper. so about 2000-5000px range

30. whats something youre proud of about your artstyle?

i dont knowwwwwwwww... i think recently i like the way i paint bodies and i've been enjoying the orb heads as a stylistic choice even if some may think its ugly and boring. i also enjoy stylizing body hair. i also also want to adopt a more elaborate brushwork style but idont really know how to do thatttt

im just gonna talk about my olllld baby art. i love how innocent and cute and sweet it is. like you can really see my soul was not corrupted by evil yet. sighs

so i'm rereading trc with my friend and we're currently on bllb and i just read chapter 30 and in it blue's asking malory what gansey used to be like before he moved to henrietta and the gansey that malory describes to blue is so different from the gansey she currently knows and i just cant stop thinking about it.

first off, malory describes gansey as "small" as in not just his height but as in gansey was young and it makes sense because at the time gansey was 15 but it just kind of does something to my heart when i think about young, small gansey trying to figure out why he's still alive.

malory then goes on to say, "He was still trying to prove that he hadn't just hallucinated. He was still quite obsessed with the event [his death] itself." gansey first died when he was 10 and to be obsessing over your death for FIVE years trying to convince others but mostly yourself that you didn't make it up that you actually died and not some part of a childs imagination it must've fucked with him so bad???

then malory tells blue exactly how obsessed gansey was with his death and was to the extent that he was always drawing bees and hornets and "Got screaming nightmares over it- he had to get his own place since I couldn't sleep with it [...] Sometimes these fits would happen in the day, too. We'd just be toddling through some riding path in Leicestershire and next thing I knew he'd be on the ground clawing his face like a mental patient." the gansey that blue currently knows doesnt act like that but this was only two years prior its fucking INSANE and it's here blue starts to think about the facade gansey had learned to throw up since he was a kid.

AND IT GETS WORSE SOMEHOW?? earlier in bllb in chapter 3, gansey talks about how he felt like running and how it had been a long time since he had felt that way. at the time it didn't make sense like wdym by that gansey but then back in chapter 30 malory tells blue how gansey just disappeared one day. left most of his bags and left without a word to anyone not even his family who then called malory to ask for gasneys whereabouts. "He picked himself up and moved on so easily, so quickly. He had done it so many times before England, Jane, and it was old hat to him."

it makes blue rethink every conversation she had with gansey previously, similarly to when adam heard gansey's voice of fear in the cave in chapter one where gansey had the panic attack because its around this book where the gangsey start to figure, as blue puts it, "It was more like the Gansey she'd seen was a partial truth."

it's so very easy to pass off ganseys insecurities and his feelings about how he should comfort other people but they shouldn't do the same for him because he's had it the easiest (his words not mine) because he himself skips over it so fast. like he'll mention something and then act like he's never thought or said it, like its something normal which really isnt and then it slowly makes sense that gansey throughout the series, starts to lose that mask (there's multiple masks but thats a conversation for another time) and the readers and the gangsey get to see what the real gansey is like instead of the bulletproof, untouchable gansey they're used to seeing.

the idea of gansey running is insane in a good way because its nothing like the gansey we know, plus paired with the fact about how young gansey has me clawing at the walls because he's just this kid desperate to prove he wasn't hallucinating, trying to find some purpose to his life before he finds it in henrietta. a kid who was still terrified of his death who relived it, screaming every night who still had panic attacks anywhere and everywhere and would end up clawing at himself because there's hornets everywhere. a kid who doesn't stay in one place too long who learns to put on an easy smile to convince everyone okay and gets so good at it that it works and people think that hes normal and okay when he's anything but.

idk pre canon gansey is something that i need to inject into my bloodstream and analyse in a lab.

ok so i know i've literally never posted abt sanders sides before on this blog (i haven't been keeping up for a few years) but i've been tumbling down a waterslide lined with my old hyperfixations for the last few hours and ended up creating D&D au character designs for the core four sides using heroforge. images and descriptions under the cut if you're interested ❤ bonus points if you can guess what classes they are (this is EXTREMELY self-indulgent so pls forgive the ranting abt them, they're very important to me ok)

First up we have Roman! my beloved. one of my first questions when starting his design was how can i make him look as cunty as possible? the answer: heeled boots and winged eyeliner (It's a little tricky to see but he's got gold metallic eyeliner). I ADORE Roman's colour pallet so i kept it as close to accurate as i could, making white the base colour and accentuating it with the gold armor and the dramatic red shoulder cape as my stand-in for his sash. he's wielding a katana OF COURSE how could he not be. he's slaying ⚔ 🐉 and slaying 💅💋

moving on:

Patton. my baby, my honey, my ragtime gal. i decided to make his hair a little longer than roman's bc i thought it made him look softer and more approachable. it was UNBELIEVABLY hard to find something that sort of replaced his cardigan without looking too chunky but i did like this kind of loose tattered mantle, so i went with that. kept the sky blue shirt and gray cardigan/shawl, but gave him more greyish blue pants so they didn't blend into the shirt too much. glasses are round instead of square bc again i thought they made him look friendlier than the square ones. freckles bc i personally think freckles are very cute and patton is very cute so he got freckles. no shoes he's travelling the realms like the gods intended. the dad vibes are strong i want him to give me a hug 🥺

next up:

logan is quite possibly my favourite side so i really wanted to get his design right. the MOST important thing was giving him his iconic necktie, which ended up being pretty much the same color as his canon design. i couldn't give the tie specifically a pattern, so i made his vest stripy like his tie is in the show and i think it looks really good. his glasses are the more classic nerd ones which is perfect for him and i gave him black eyeliner bc i thought it made him look more serious. i added the coat for more of a d&d look (it doesn't make sense to traverse planes wearing a vest and tie) i think it gives him an extra bit of style that i love.

and last but not least:

the Anxious BoiTM himself (i've only had him for five minutes seven years but if anything happened to him etc etc). virgil's was one of the easiest designs aesthetically and hardest mechanically (you'll never guess what class he is guys i took some BIG swings). I knew i wanted him in black and purple (obviously) and i knew i wanted to give him the iconic purple hair dye and eyeshadow. i almost said screw the genre and put him in a zippered hoodie but i do think that a cloak and cowl would suit him very well (good for hiding in) and i found a combo that looked equally cosy and spooky. a bow is good for attacking long range and keeping out of danger (appropriate for anxiety, i thought) and the mask looks intimidating but actually helps him with sensory overload (with the cowl and mask on he's basically in a mini sensory deprivation bubble). an eyebrow ring bc he's edgy idk why honestly i thought it looked cool.

So that's basically it! As i said before if you can guess their respective classes i'll give you a cookie (🍪). since i can't draw, heroforge is usually my go-to for character creation and i have to recommend it (i think i talk abt this site a lot but 🤷‍♀️) it's so helpful for non-artist types like myself.

Ocellus - Teenage Exocolonist OC

I need to post more so here’s something I made in February for a game I love a lot - I was a Teenage Exocolonist!

The character is called Ocellus (yes, like the changeling in MLP I could not think of anything else that sounded sciency or eccentric enough, ideas are welcome!) and their augment is chameleon, because I thought it’d be easiest for my mental health and art block to create a character with obvious signs such as that, without going into classic animals, like a cat or mouse. (Also I had a snake as a pet called Misty and I wanted to give a character a reptile tail)

The idea sketches (as you’ll find from the inconsistent outfits and lazier style, and also Ocellus being pink and blue to match the butterfly, when in the reference, it became decided that those colours would be romantic (I might change them actually)) and the reference drawing was actually made either on the same day or a day before I left my toxic environment lol

Also, fun fact, someone accused me of character theft because a bunch of members were planning to make a mod called Extracolonists (NOT Extracolonist by Seraphic on Reddit) so, AFTER I made Ocellus and just had to do some final details, I was like “omg how cool would it be if I joined in on the mod, they have some space left” so I looked through the discord search thing, looking up “chameleon” and I found a character called “Chanterelle”.

So, finding a chameleon augment character already I was like “oh ok so it won’t go in the mod, ah well, I’ll just post this in the art channel and make a little joke about it.”

Important thing to note: These characters looked nothing alike, aside from being POC and having multi-coloured hair. However, Chanterelle was default blue/pink and all I saw was an image, so I imagine a lot of the functionality stuff like the sign language and the tongue being too big in the mouth, is all mine (or, it’s ours now because sadly I did probably give too many ideas to them). Another thing to note is that I was exclusively following Exocolonist eccentric explorer styles, while the image I saw was Chanterelle’s child version just kinda in a blue hoodie.

And, at first I got compliments and, what confirms my thoughts about the functionality being mine, is that I was being COMPLIMENTED for my ideas AND my character. UNTIL, one person, decided to be like “I’m really uncomfortable with this” and, when I asked why, I get “Because it’s character theft! The characters look exactly alike!”

(They don’t, at all, whatsoever, again, aside from being POC and having multi-coloured hair with COMPLETELY different types of hair texture and multi-coloured types (Ocellus has straight thick hair that’s essentially just very tiny chameleon scales, so it’s a little heavy, with colours at the ends, while Chanterelle had afro space buns and split dye), which, is probably telling that those features make characters look “exactly alike” but idk I’m white, I don’t think I get to decide on what’s telling)

So then, the ENTIRE group, even ones that were COMPLIMENTING me, decided to just turn on me LMAO, (fucking pick a lane a stick to it dudes lmao /j) which, from the perspective of “I had just joined a few days ago and they don’t know me and they have established friendships” I get, but, first of all, I was doing a bachelor of ARTS at the time, which I stated on the first day, I’m sure that I wouldn’t be doing that if I was uncreative enough to be a thief, and, whenever I tried to defend myself and prove my innocence, I was not listened to and I had the EXACT SAME PHRASE repeated to me “you know how it looks right?” Over and over and over again no matter how many times I responded to that, it just was not going anywhere, my attempts of defusing the situation just was not working at all, and I was not being listened to. So then the person who “called me out” decided to post in another channel “let’s make another server for the mod because this doesn’t feel like a safe space for me anymore :(“

EXCUSE ME??? YOU accused me of character theft and dismissed my Timelapses, which is the ONLY way of proving that I didn’t steal a character design. I was reasonable and polite the whole time because I wanted to calm things down and clear up a misunderstanding, while you wanted to argue, and accuse me and my friend of being toxic because she has harsh tone sometimes, while YOU YOURSELF were displaying extremely toxic behaviours, the only bad thing I said to her was:

“I’m so sorry, this saying is only ever said in a mean way and I have no other way of saying this, but, I’m not gonna lie, I feel like it has to be said, you aren’t special, not every coincidence you see in a character is theft against you, and I’m literally in Uni for ART and MAKING CHARACTERS, where I am watched and observed when doing character design tasks, I’m not gonna be uncreative and steal a character design. I just checked to see if Ocellus could be in the mod, that’s it”

Because, I’m gonna be honest, the character wasn’t basic, and was fucking adorable, I’m not trying to insult the character, BUT, she had a LOT of popular character design choices when I checked, and not really much to separate her too much from the norm, which is absolutely ok, BUT, that means that that person is going to see a LOT of characters that look similar, and they can’t expect people to NOT have coincidental ideas of things that ARE unique to the character.

So I just sent a really long message about how I’m gonna leave because I TRIED to peacefully and calmly settle the issue, but everyone was willing to just attack me DESPITE complimenting me before, and not listen to me at all despite showing my Timelapses to show my thought process. And then for the person who started this whole thing to suddenly feel “unsafe” despite the fact that I was the one being attacked.

So, one of my friends (me and 3 others joined because we wanted to be a part of a community) stayed in the server, either that one or an 18+ one to see what happens after or for anyone to try and talk to me through her, and one of the mods did contact her, super sweet like:

“Hey I’m so sorry your friend went through that, we had a talk with the others, we don’t think Chari (me) did anything wrong and we’re gonna make a ticket system so things never escalate like this again, so if they want to join back at all, they are free to, again, we’re so sorry, we don’t let these things slide without a reaction.”

Anyway, I haven’t joined back since, because I said that I would if the person who called me out apologised, and, if I DID rejoin, I should get an apology from the people who escalated everything (bit immature I know and I did state that), but the mod kindly explained that she wouldn’t apologise and would just leave if I joined back, so I just decided that, instead of chasing her out of possible safe spaces by just existing, I was just gonna stick to talking about it with my friends and maybe in the future join another server, which I haven’t done yet. Also there was some Vace lovers /j

So yeah, fun story lol, I wonder how they’re getting on and I do hope the project is going well for them.

Might also add some more patterns and details to some parts of Ocellus and make an Ocellus mod, not out of spite at all, I promise, but because I really wanna do something with them and I really wanna make mods.

Also, despite how it seems, I’m not actually mad, I find this haha funny. I was also stressed and annoyed at the time but not exactly angry.

i don't really have any... what's easiest is just straight-on, but that looks boring, so I can't realistically say it's my favorite... but if it's hard then I don't like it either.... sigh

see okay the thing is. artists that inspire me seem to always have an art style that i Can't Really Replicate. like i've seen so many of those painterly-style ethereal anime girls and pieces with the most gorgeous fucking colors ive ever seen in my life and they look SO PRETTY but i just Don't Understand Them At All 😭😭

so i'd say rixypill because recently i saw one of their art pieces and the amount of relief it brought me was insane. it was a gorgeous gorgeous art piece AND it looked like something i could realistically achieve. i didn't even really realize it but for such a long time i was trying to turn my art style into Something Completely Different and idk it just made me realize that i could make beautiful art Without having it stop being My Art

i mean i did like 2 meps when i didn't understand what the fuck I was doing but i don't think those can really be counted........ i've done like art telephones and 3-person art trades but nothing really outside of that

i don't think i've mastered anything really 😭 but i'm definitely a lot better at eyeballing colors than when i first started!!

there are lots of really awesome works in this world that i really like and if i didn't list like 500 different artworks i wouldn't feel like i'd answered properly so im gonna sit this one out lol

yeah, i use saturation filters + gradient maps + blending modes at the end of every piece

i have so many 😭 i'm in the "i hate all my art" stage of improvement rn..... aside from that, i hate that a lot of my art is so boring.... like there's not a lot of interesting perspectives or actual Meaning... that's the main reason why i made ychallenge! i want to make pieces that invoke emotion & mean something to me and aren't just there to look pretty

Are you named after anyone?

Yup! My dad's mom. My government name isn't very common though, so I won't tell you what it is. It's very pretty though.

Last time you cried?

Um. No idea? My eyes water a lot (stupid dry eye), but I'm very emotionally repressed. I'd say it was probably two weeks ago and because of nostalgia or something.

Do you have kids?

I have a cat and a teenage friend who calls me her Art Mom. Considering I would literally kill for either of them, I think that counts.

Do you use sarcasm a lot?

I don't think so? I'm kinda a smart ass, but it's not on purpose.

What sports do you play/have you played?

None competitively, only what we did in P.E. Of those I most enjoyed volleyball, wrestling, and weight lifting (even though we didn't compete on that one, it was a ton of fun)

What's the first thing you notice about a person?

Physically: Probably their hair. My eyesight sucks, so when I was a kid it was the easiest way to identify people. Otherwise: Speech patterns.

Eye color?

Blue. Kinda wish they weren't, since I'm very sensitive to light, but I get them from my mom and her dad, so that's nice.

Scary movie or happy ending?

Depends. Very few movies scare me, and the ones that do aren't even horror. I think I'd take one with a happy ending, just to be safe.

Any special talents?

No idea. I'm pretty physically strong, but idk if that counts as a talent, exactly.

Where were you born?

What are your hobbies?

Drawing and writing, obvs, but also video games (I don't keep up to date with new ones, though. Just play the same type of shit I did as a kid, and maybe something new every once in a while). Is attempting to learn new skills a hobby? Cause I do that a lot, even if I never get past the basics on anything

Three, technically. My cat, Panther. My dog, Diesel. And my mom's dog, who I inherited but don't consider mine, Loki.

5 foot, 5 inches. (Around 165 centimeters, for those who use metric). Folks say I look taller though. Don't ask me why.

Favorite subject in school?

Art (my highschool had a few different ones. I most enjoyed Drawing and Ink. So far, in college, I've enjoyed Drawing and Ceramics the most), English, and Cooking (my school had Global Foods and it was awesome)

Dream job?

No fucking clue!! All I know is I want to do art! When I was in middle school, I wanted to be a video game concept artist. In highschool I wanted to be a tattoo artist. Now... Kinda lost, if I'm honest.

3 : When I was little, ideas come from anywhere. Saw a cute clothes? Draw it. Having bad day? Draw it. Cute animals? Draw it. Something interesting happening? Draw it. I basically draw what I had in mind! Colors inspired me a lot so I usually spent my dawn and noon outside to get some ideas. Eventho the ideas I'm getting are unrelated with the scenery hehe

12 : The whole torso to thighs are the easiest to draw for me. It's kinda weird but yeah idk why. Especially the chest are. The boobies. The pecks. They're the easiest (and most fun) to draw. Other than that, I've upped my skill and finds it easy to draw hands now😎

autumn. the entire afternoon, he didn’t even look at you. he may have been in your bed, playing with his phone and aggressively tapping away at the screen like he normally would, but he didn’t say a single word. not to you, not at the screen or at the automated characters in the game. 

“are you alright?” a gentle crease strains your brows. “you’ve been... very quiet since you came over.”

“i’m fine,” he brushes it off, doesn’t even bother looking away from his phone. “i’m just... thinking about stuff.”

your thumb locks your phone, eyes drifting from the screen to him. “thinking about what? tell me about it.”

“i don’t want to.”

cold.

“why not? was it something i did earlier that pissed you off or did something happen at home?”

silence. 

“oi,” gently wrapping your fingers around his hands that were holding his phone, you pull the device out from between his hands. “talk to me. what’s wrong?”

he rolls his eyes in exasperation, poking the inner side of his cheek with his tongue as he sits up in your bed. his back creaks against the cushioned head board, the back of his head resting on the blue wall. 

the royal blue shade flushes kind memories through your mind - sunghoon had helped you paint your walls just a year ago. 

“do you remember when you kicked the can of paint over? my god, it was so expensive and i was so mad-”

“stop.”

a sudden chill runs down your spine. there are a few moments of silence; heavy tension in the air, before you finally sit up and look to him.

“hey, i didn’t mean to bring that up if you didn’t like it. i just thought-”

“no, i’m saying we should stop.”

a gentle frown draws across your forehead.

“did i do something wrong? i-”

“no, i just-” sunghoon pushes himself off the bed, running his hand through his hair and picking up his phone. “i don’t think this is it. you and me. us.”

“i don’t get it. if i didn’t do anything wrong, then what is wrong?”

“what’s wrong is that i don’t love you, okay?” he grabs his hoodie and pulls it over his head. 

“wha...?”

“in fact,” he licks his slightly-chapped lips, thick brows almost pasted to one another, and his eyes had seemed to lost the light you once thought were for you. how could he say that so easily? “i hate you.”

pent up frustration yanks his chin away from you. watch him pick up his bag, full of your memories with him, full of laughter and cries and smiles that you had shared with him, that you had fallen in love with him over. 

“sunghoon, what-”

“don’t,” he swings his bag over his shoulder and turns, just enough to show you his side profile. “don’t call me ever again. delete my number. i’ll be blocking you from all our social medias.”

so, the door swings shut behind him, and there are soft whispers from outside as he bids your family goodbye. 

the room still smells like him. your fucking bed probably smells like him. the walls have been painted by him. the pictures of your phone either have him or were taken by him. 

the downfall of falling in love is that the same person who can give you anything, can take away everything. 

you find yourself zoning out as you sit at the edge of your bed, tears silently streaming down your face and soaking the ends of your sleeves. your mucus has long stained the lines of your lips and your cheeks are bloated from the quiet crying. 

no reason. no explanation.

now all you know is that he hates you. 

knock knock knock

winter. snow. snow angels. snow flakes. ice. 

“i know you’re in there! please open the door and come out!” jake’s voice is muffled through the door. the shadows stretched from under the door shifts restlessly, but you’re stuck to your bed like gum to hair. 

“please. if you don’t see him off at the airport, you’ll never see him for the next few years. what if he stays? what if he doesn’t want to come back? you can still make it in time and you can still come to some kind of agreement.”

the sour in your nose starts to spread through your nasal cavities again, and you can feel the lump of sobs stuck in the back of your throat. it feels like someone had just punched you in the gut so hard that your stomach was going to tumble out from your mouth. 

“you can’t possibly believe that he’s leaving because he meant what he said! this is... his dream. he was absolutely torn just by thinking about this, god! none of us knew he was going to pull this stunt!”

a soft thunk. the shadows stop shifting, but he’s standing directly against the door. he probably has his forehead shoved against the wood.

“y/n, please. we can’t stand by and watch this go to waste like that. we all knew sunghoon had nothing but eyes for you and he still does, i swear to god. he only said that because he didn’t want you to commit to a long-distance relationship and possibly neglect you but... you’ll get through it, won’t you?”

“is she not coming out?”

“no. she’s not responding.”

“move over. y/n, it’s jungwon.”

you sit up slowly, starting to wonder if sunghoon’s entire friend group is standing right outside your door. 

“sunghoon told me not to tell you this... or anybody in fact, but he said he’d be too greedy if he wanted both you and skating. he said... that he thinks he doesn’t deserve you, and that no matter how hard he tried, there would still come a time that he might hurt you. he said that skating is technical and can be improved and the only person getting hurt from it is him, but he can’t bear to hurt you ever. not now, not in the future.”

“since when did he say that?”

riki. 

“shut up- you ask the worst questions at the worst timings ever.”

sunoo. 

“y/n, are you listening? sunghoon still loves you and he never meant it when he said he hates you. he said it as... as an attempt to hurt you one last time, so you’ll stay and he’ll go live his dreams while thinking he’s protecting you.”

by now, you’re standing with your hand on the door handle. the only thing between you and his friends was the door, and a broken heart that might just be too far for redemption. 

the jostle outside continues, and the shadows start shifting all over again as the boys squabble to get the door open. 

but it stops abruptly, and you see the light under the door shine through before it’s shadowed again.

“y/n.”

sunghoon. 

he tries the door, but you’re too frightened to open it. why would you open your heart to someone who has broken it before?

“please... open up. i... i thought that this would be the easiest and the best way to make sure you were safe from all the things i wanted to do... but i am far from right and i can’t... i’m- i’m sorry... that i chose to go down this route. i just... i never want to see you like this. i’m sorry.”

your trembling fingers kiss the cold metal of the door knob lock, and you twist it with a click.

the winter coat is snug around his shoulder, and he has a scarf around his neck with a passport boarding pass sticking out from one of his coat pockets. the cracks in his heart when he sees your face shows in his eyes as glistening tears, arms opening wide as he takes a step forward.

a sharp exhale, followed by sudden, almost-violent sobs into his coat as he sinks to the ground with your head in his shoulder. he rests his cheek against your head, hands stroking your hair.

“i can never hate you, i promise.”

D3 redesigns - Auradon Kids

so the 2nd of 5 posts for my redesigns~! this time, the AKs~ again minus chad since his D3 outfits never bothered me

so we start with the king~! Beasty boi~!

give.this.fucking.child.more.diversity. he legit wears the same suit for like five scenes and the only other time he wears something different is the main outit, janes party, and when hades wakes up Audrey (which is the only one i didnt redesign...i think)  i dont have alot to say for Ben other than HE FINALLY HAS DIFFERENT OUTFITS THAT DONT LOOK HORRIBLE ON HIM YES. janes party was probably the worst offender of his D3 looks, like...wtf descendants designers? do you all hate Ben for some reason? his main is no longer a Auradon guard look alike but now is a random shirt, a leather jacket Evie made for him, some reinforced jeans, and steel toed combat boots, this king is ready to throw down. and his BTD, got inspiration from Beasts og animated outfit (tale as old as time) just anything than a plain old suit we’ve seen him in a million times.

Audrey!

Audrey was probably the easiest since i already redesigned her main and evil look before back in 2020 and i had several ideas for her sleepwear designs since wtf was that thing she was wearing in the movie oh my god that thing belongs on a fashion runway and that's it don't let it see sunlight please. i did like her OG btd dress but i wanted to, again, give her more of her D1 feel so i just kinda....did that? idk but i like it and its supposed to have a vine/flower pattern traveling across it but again im lazy. 

Doug! i dont particularly care for your character but you deserve to be redesigned as well since i kinda fix you in rewrite SO

i fucking had so much trouble drawing him so i just gave up and put my inspiration shit onto the canvas and called it a day. weirdly colored green and offset purple is not his color maroon is why the fuck would the designers keep stickling him in that the absolute fuck (maroon matches Evie a bit better too, purple and green DONT)

Jane~

Jane, actually has cute outfits and i like them, minus her BTD outfit because what the shit is that thing burn it. SO cute off shoulder party dress with cute bracelets from Gil because GOLDEN RETRIVER AND BLUE BIRD ARE CUTE FIGHT ME. and yes the ribbon on her waist is translucent at the ends because i can, also her dress is shiny.
