There's something beautiful about the fact that Odysseus' decision to spare Polyphemus, while it leads to a lot of grief down the line, is also the reason Odysseus has a son to come home to.
Because of his fight with Athena, she spends a lot of time processing their relationship and her values. When he disappears, it is her newfound softness that leads her to turn to Telemachus and help him defend himself and Penelope from the violent suitors.
Odysseus spared a son and his son was spared in turn.

man the character design for the bakshi brothers is really good. you wouldnt think that's possible for a live action show but it is bc like zack is played by parvesh cheena who has a really friendly, round shape to him as opposed to brad's very thin, angular features, so you're more inclined to think zack is a good guy at first. but then boom they subvert that by exposing that he is the most evil motherfucker around. just some primo casting right there

One of the fun things about playing or writing nonbinary Rook is that Veilguard tends to put characters in threes.
As soon as Taash is part of a scene, the nonbinary people can easily outnumber members of another gender in the room.

i've recently decided my gender is roughly "woman" in the way that 355/113 is roughly π. that is, it's only an approximation, but it's also the best approximation available without sacrificing brevity, and it's precise enough to use for most purposes
which is all to say, i'm perfectly fine with being called a woman, but when experiencing certain expectations of womanhood, i cringe in a way very similar to how i cringe when engineers write π=3.14

It's interesting that Orange has said that Vash having a hood but keeping it down and Nai having a hood and keeping it up was incredibly important to their character design and what they represent as adults--but as teens (well, children given their growth rate probably), the opposite is true
Though by the end of this confrontation...

The "I can't stand his hideous fucking face" to "I really want to kiss his perfect fucking face" pipeline.

I love being a multishipper because there's one ship in a piece of media I cannot be normal about and hold much higher than all the others and then I get a brainwave that involves shipping one of those characters with a totally different one and then that ship goes up on the pedestal, too. They can and will both coexist. And then sometimes I just combine both ships and they all just... become a polycule. Why not? It's all very fun.

I love the background music in Veilguard so much, bc I'll catch wisps of nostalgic sounds from other games constantly. Running around Thedas, thinking "Oh, this reminds of Witcher 3! Oh, this reminds me of Skyrim! This reminds of DA2! This reminds me of Mass Effect 2! This me reminds me of Horizon Zero Dawn! This reminds me--"
And not in a "the music was plagiarized" kind of way. Like in Rivain (idk if it's just Rivain, it's just where I noticed it), there's an accordion the reminds me of Toussaint in Witcher 3, and then I just kept thinking about all the other instances where the music reminded me of something else.

I jerked off to the thought of my head being held under water while he fucked me and I was kicking and struggling and he kept saying "I'm almost there just hold on" and fuuuuck maybe drowning is one of my kinks after all 🤷🏻‍♀️

the act of reading katsuki focused fanfics and finding out if the author calls him "ground zero" or "dynamight" is so so special actually

Me trying to design a character that has seen combat, especially if it's a woman: What if they had cool scars.

Personally, I love the theory that Lindon becomes the new Adriel. There are so many reasons as to why it would work. Mainly, his duality and the fact that Lindon embodies both the concept of creating something, but also the nothingness that has to come before anything is created. Those aren't the only reasons though. My reasons:
- The two judges he met before even hitting Iron were Restoration and Destruction
- He has pure, cleansing madra and destructive blackflame
- Lindon's soulsmithing tool Genesis has this same duality
- He had the Void Icon and the Hammer Icon
- Void is what comes before creation, Hammer is used to create
- Lindon's two Icons represent Nothing and Something
- Or the absence of something and making something
- Lindon represents growth from Nothing (Unsouled) to Something (one of the most powerful Sacred Artists to ever inhabit Cradle)
- He is meek and polite but able to throw his weight around if he wants to (his personality has two sides here)
- Lindon calls himself the End but he is also a "creator" as a soulsmith
- He says the above twice, and once at the end of his Cradle arc but at the beginning of his Abidan arc. This moment is both a beginning and an end simultaneously
- The above also links to the idea of a circle. An embodiment of opposing dualities in a single manifestation. Every point of a circle is both a beginning and an end
- When Lindon ascends, Eithan notes that he has a "fine pair of Icons" alluding to the duality of having Nothing and Creation

Have you ever read through a TTRPG that combines its setting and rules in a way you find really neat but you literally can't talk about it with anyone because anything more than a cursory overview will make having that person play the game impossible from the meta knowledge they will now have?
Wireless Soul Transmission is living rent free in my head and I guess it's going to stay there.
