Idaho Rush installed two Mini Soccer Pitches for their club development. Coach Lee wanted to utilize the Mini Soccer Pitches for touch improvement, concentration of practices and overall morale boost for the team. With the Mini Soccer Pitches Idaho Rush has been able to take control of their destiny by having world class facilities available at all times for their club to practice on.
Thanks to USP’s modular design, we can customize fields to nearly any space, and best of all this requires no foundation or pouring—a speedy, affordable setup with less red tape.
Kids of all ages, skill levels, and backgrounds deserve access to quality fields; and to cultivate world-class talent, developing athletes need to be playing frequently, both in and outside of practice. USP offers this access to a professional-grade facility that rivals those of elite clubs worldwide. The benefits of training on a five
a-side soccer field cannot be overstated. It’s widely acknowledged this method dramatically increases players’ technical and tactical ability and encourages improvisation and creativity. In this fast-paced format, players are rewarded for teamwork, keeping possession (defense), and ball control, and most importantly, it’s fun! In an Urban Soccer Park, athletes stay focused, motivated, and inspired.

24 September 2054 // 1400h
No rain outside.  A balmy 85 degrees.  Humidity 75%.
A good day for a protest if Todd had ever seen one.
Todd and Brian sat on a bench outside Greta Hall, part of the eastern dorm complex of New Idaho University.  West of the dormitory complex, to Todd’s right, was Okapi Field, a large, open expanse filled with students lounging on blankets, throwing frisbees, and, on the western side, wielding instruments and marching in preparation for one of the weekly fall marching band shows (NIU was established after football had begun its slow and steady decline in popularity, and the powers that be still saw no need of an actual team.  Soccer had more or less replaced football in popular athletics, but the marching band had not yet integrated).
Todd scratched his semi-dreaded hair and wrote a couple notes in his journal.  Brian lit up a cigarette.
‘Do you think we’ll have a big turnout today?’ Brian asked.
Todd looked up from his journal.  ‘I think so.  We collected more emails at the activities fair than ever before.  Our first meeting two weeks ago was pretty strong.  And there were a lot of new faces at the sign making party on Sunday.’  He patted the small pile of poster-board at his side.
Todd and Brian were the co-presidents and founders of the Jungle Club on campus.  Est. 2052, the Jungle Club took the issue of rainforest depletion and localized it—they fought for a hands-off approach to the Greta Barn Jungle, assuming this was Mother Earth’s natural response to climate change.
The protest was set to begin at the dorms at 1430h.  There would be a short rallying speech, then a chanting cavalcade would march down south toward the Jungle itself, where Todd and Brian had verified that there would simultaneously be a round of deforestation.  They would picket for a while, try to get in the school paper, high five, and head out.
As the half-hour approached, more students began to trickle in from the east.  There was about an even mixture of males and females.  Some students resembled the long-haired, devil-may-care look of Todd, and some looked even more unkempt.  Some students looked more clean-cut and professional, like Brian.  By the time the ceremony was to start, there were at least 30 students assembled—a good draw, by Todd’s standards.
‘It’s time,’ Todd said to Brian with a smile.  He always felt a rush of power and purpose at events like this.  He stood up on the bench he had been sitting on and addressed the crowd:
‘May I have your attention please!’  He tapped the side of his lenses and brushed down on the air in front of him to bring up a virtual copy of the speech he had prepared.  ‘Thank you.
‘Now, as you know, we are assembled here today because we all share a common goal—the betterment of the planet.  Perhaps some of you are as frustrated as I am.  Perhaps some of you are simply curious.  Well, for those of you who are new to the City, for those of you who are new to the University, allow me to elucidate you on the topic of the Greta Barn Jungle.
‘Climate change has plagued our planet since the dawn of capitalism.  From the smog of Los Angeles, to the horrible hurricanes of the ‘10s, to the unprecedented rain patterns of the ‘20s, we have all felt the mark of climate change in our generation.
‘Some of you may be pessimistic about this human-made catastrophe, but fear not!  Mother Nature has more resilience than we give her credit for.  The Earth has survived far longer than the short time humans have populated Her, and She knows how to correct herself.  The trees come down in rainforests of South America, the trees come up in the beautiful city we know as New Idaho.  The Jungle that grows in the middle of our city, the Jungle that the greedy masses wish to cut down for resources and land development is Mother Nature’s attempt at righting our wrongs.  It is her attempt at providing Oxygen for a new era of people. And what do we do?  Cut it down.
‘This very day, under the oversight of the so-called “Ecology Department,”  the Jungle is being pruned and cut down so that the University may preserve its “image.”  Plants are being torn from their new home, and Mother Nature is finding that even if she makes her way to the most secluded ring of mountains in Idaho, she still must contend with humans who wish her ill.
‘That is why today, my siblings of the Earth, we must fight back.  To my left, we have signs protesting the destruction of the place we call home.  I would ask each of you that feels able to grab a sign.  Together we will march to the border of the Greta Barn Jungle, and we will continue our saga to reclaim New Idaho for the Earth!’
Todd thrust his hand into the air, his lips pulled down into a frown that meant business.  Scattered applause from the crowd, with about five strategically placed JC veterans attempting to make up for the low decibel level with exaggerated hand-claps and cheers.
‘Let’s Go!’  Todd said, and began to lead the group of protestors south, between the engineering complex and the Botanical Sciences building and toward the Northern Edge of the Greta Barn Jungle.  Brian led the group in chants as they marched.  They got through ‘HELL NO, NO WAY, YOU CAN’T TAKE OUR JUNGLE AWAY,’ made their way past, ‘PEOPLE NEED OXYGEN!’ and finished up at the edge of the jungle with ‘OUR JUNGLE, OUR SCHOOL, OUR EARTH, YOU FOOLS!’
On the northern edge of the Jungle, there were, sure enough, a group of about 20 students and staff wielding Machetes and chainsaws, chopping down various plants on the border of the jungle.  The materials were then carted north into the large garage-door leading into the basement of the Botanical Sciences building.
Fortunately for the Jungle Club, the chainsaws were rarely in use, and most of their group of thirty had shed the awkward early-march jitters, letting out spirited shouts that verged on the disruptive for the landscapers.
The Jungle’s edge was only about 200 meters from the southern-most Environmental and Botanical Science buildings of the University.  Though its heat and humidity was felt all over campus, it was only visible behind those buildings, the Engineering complex to the East, and the head Administrative Building to the west.
The Administrative Building of New Idaho University, much like the Government Building on the other side of the Jungle, housed all the administrative aspects of the university—the Bursar, Registrar, and, on the fourth floor, with windows that faced the Jungle, the Office of the President.
The President and Founder of the University, Aubrey Daskus, looked out her window at the environmental students and staff working at the Jungle, and noticed the group of protestors.  She sighed.  This was bound to happen at least once every year, though she hoped these students failed to spread too much disdain for the Jungle—they would never accept or understand how much of a hand the University actually had in making it thrive in the first place.
Well, she thought, she might as well address this disruption.
President Daskus moved swiftly for 66.  She has always placed a high emphasis on her health, and it was paying off.  Of course, she also had the Jungle to thank for a bit of that.  She was out the door of her building and greeting the protestors within five minutes.
The protestors had launched into the tired old gem, ‘THE PEOPLE—UNITED—WILL NEVER BE DEFEATED!’  Todd had procured his megaphone.  They continued to shout as Aubrey walked toward them, either failing to recognize her or making a purposeful show of their disdain for authority through their ignorance.
‘Excuse me!’  she shouted toward Todd.
Todd turned toward her and lowered his megaphone.  The chanting continued behind him.  ‘Excuse us, Miss President, but we are in the middle of bringing attention to an important issue on our campus, and we wish our voice to be heard.’
‘I think everyone here has heard your voices perfectly fine.’
‘Would you have us shut down this protest and silence our freedom of speech?’
‘Slow down, young man,’ Aubrey smiled.  ‘You are, of course, free to speak about whatever you wish.  But what is it you wish?  To simply yell?  Or would you like a conversation, which I am prepared to offer?’
‘I have a feeling we will not be seeing eye to eye here,’ Todd replied.
‘May I at least address your club and lend them my perspective?’  At this point the chanting had subsided—the rest of the students were curious.  Aubrey took the liberty to begin speaking to the assembly.  ‘I can see that you all have an issue with the University’s treatment of the Jungle.  I wish to tell you first that I am more than willing to discuss these issues further.  What you may not realize, however, is that NIU cares deeply about the environment.  In fact, the study of the environment is what our school was founded on.
‘The Jungle is, of course, a unique and special part of the New Idaho environment.  We understand that.  We are careful to allow natural growth inside the Jungle, and we only uproot those plants that infringe on the University’s borders.’
‘If I may interrupt,’ Todd interrupted, ‘those borders were drawn by you and not by nature.  Go on.’
‘You are perfectly right, and as I said, I am more than willing to discuss this at length with you all at a later date.  Until that point, I also want to point out that we do not dispose of the plants we uproot.  As you can see, we bring them back into our labs.  In those labs, we are running tests that are, by my philosophy, the personal duty of our University to do.  We are proud to live so close to this ecological anomaly, and we hope to understand it as best we can with the least possible amount of disruption.
‘My office hours are every Tuesday from 1500h-1700h.  If any of you would like to come in and discuss this matter further, this is when you may reach me.  Now, unless you have any last words for me, I am actually overdue for a visit to the Greta Lab.’  She paused for a moment to see if anyone would speak up.
Todd, feeling that he was losing people, raised the megaphone to his lips, turned his back to the President, and began shouting to his assembly:  ‘OUR JUNGLE, OUR SCHOOL, DON’T PLAY US FOR A FOOL!  OUR JUNGLE, OUR SCHOOL, DON’T PLAY US FOR A FOOL!’
Daskus smiled and retreated; she had said what she had needed to say.  A couple more impressionable students started the chant again, but the protest had been effectively diluted.  The President walked toward a machete-wielding man with a mustache and sunglasses and tapped him on the shoulder.  Together, they walked into the basement of the Botanical Sciences Building, through the large garage door.  The mustachioed man hung his machete on a wall near the door.
Underneath the Botanical Sciences building were three floors of labs.  The lower the level, the more clearance was required to enter.
The President followed the man to the bottommost floor: B3.  He led her down the first hallway, turned a left, and entered through the second door on the right.  The laboratory contained most of what you would expect to see in any chemistry lab, in addition to various lockers filled with flora from all around the Jungle.  Eight workstations occupied the center of the lab.  On each workstation was a notebook and a diverse assembly of instruments.
The man and the president approached the workstation farthest from the door.  The President thumbed through the notebook in front of a large pot over an unlit bunsen burner.  Inside the pot was a softly glowing blue liquid.
‘How is the research going on this one?’  She asked the man.
‘As of now, we have a pretty good idea of it’s effects.  It should be verifiably non-toxic and ready for human testing by the end of the semester,’ he replied.
‘Science is beautiful.’  Aubrey smiled and set down the notebook.  If it wasn’t yet, NIU was destined to be the most highly regarded research university in the country.

ESPN's Jemele Hill's tribute to 'The Sports Reporters' was perfect in every way
Reporters was a sad day at ESPN for many; the quiet of a legendary display that carried a lot sentimental cost for sports fanatics and younger, hopeful journalists.
Can also 7th marked the displaying of the very last episode of “The sports activities reporters.” The near
Sports Law in Cyprus
The sports industry is becoming more and more commercialized and globalized. As a result, athletes, coaches and other stakeholders engaged in the sports industry are seeking a professional legal guidance so that to safeguard their rights and maximize their profits. Sports law is an emerging area of law that is directly interconnected and overlaps with a variety of legal disciplines, such as contract law, employment law, tort law and defamation, corporate law, immigration law and privacy rights.
The assistance of a professional lawyer who has a thorough knowledge of the aforementioned areas of law is essential both for professionals in the sports industry (i.e. athletes, coaches, physiotherapists, etc.) and other stakeholders, such as the governing boards of sports clubs, investors, etc.
Investors: Sports are not limited only to the regulations of the playing field as they are intertwined with society and economy, especially with entertainment and advertising industries. As a result, sports can be a profitable area of investment, through sponsorship and advertisement. On the one point of view, sports launched opportunities for investment in areas such as broadcasting rights, which is related to the area of Intellectual Property Law. On the other point of view, sports established a new area of marketing that develops opportunities for investment in areas such as sports clubs’ shares as the majority of sports clubs have become companies.
Athletes, Sports Professionals, and Clubs: The continuous mobility of athletes and other sports professionals between teams together with the complexity of the contracts includes a variety of legal concerns. As a result, a legal representation of athletes, sports professionals, and clubs is vital. Lawyers are able to assist you on matters related to contract law, breach of contracts, transfers, etc.
Before signing a contract, athletes and other sports professionals should be sure that they are aware of the various clauses and provisions. Note that a contract between a sports professional and a club might be subject to breach. For example, in case a sports club in Cyprus does not honor its engagement regarding its obligations toward the athlete/sports professional, then the athlete/sport professional may submit a claim for remedies and/or damages to Cyprus Courts or FIFA’s Dispute Resolution Chamber. Consequently, the assistance of a professional lawyer is necessary.
Competent Authority in Cyprus:
The competent authority in Cyprus is the Cyprus Sports Organisation (CSO), a semi-governmental organization. According to the Law, CSO can act as the Supreme Sporting Authority in Cyprus.
Why is legal support necessary?
Sports are considered as one of the most profitable industries with prominent investment opportunities and huge revenues. Therefore, the appropriate legal support may assist athletes, sports professionals, and other stakeholders to maximize their benefits and protect their rights. As it has been explained, athletes, sports professionals, and other stakeholders, before appointing a legal representative in the Republic of Cyprus, should ensure that their lawyer has a deep knowledge and expertise in a variety areas of law.
How ESPN Deportes Saved My Life
I never knew the relationship I would develop with ESPN deported would grow so strong. Who knew that a Spanish sports channel could do so much for a kid who grew up in Boise…
Anybody that has ever been to Boise, Idaho, knows that the city’s nickname, “City of Trees,” only applies to a 100 foot-wide section that follows the Boise River through the middle of the city. The rest of the city looks more like the set of a John Wayne movie – dry, sagebrush covered, and dry. So I felt right at home in the high mountain desert of Puebla, Mexico, where I lived for two years. Although I love being back in America, there are a few things I miss about Mexico. Here are four things I miss and a few of the things that make me feel better.
ESPN Deportes
Growing up playing soccer, I thought I was pretty hot stuff. In Mexico, I was mediocre at best. It was a pretty humbling experience the first time I played with a group of 12-year-olds and they literally ran circles around me. I’ll never forget the rush of standing in the middle of 45,000 ecstatic soccer fans singing in unison to support their team, which happened to be ranked the last place in the entire country. You just can’t get soccer like that in America. In fact, you can hardly get any soccer at all. To watch the World Cup I had to wake up at 2:00 am every morning, but I counted myself lucky because they were actually showing soccer on TV. For any soccer fans out there who are disappointed with regular TV’s offering of soccer games, you’ve got to check out ESPN deported. Even if you don’t speak Spanish, the soccer coverage is worth it.
Mariachi Bands
I’m not much of a musician myself, so there is no way anybody would ever pay for me to dress up in a black, sequin-covered suit and sing at the top of my lungs to their loved ones. I miss the talented musicians in mariachi bands who wooed young lovers and venerated great-grandparents. Walking down the street on Valentine’s Day almost always guaranteed at least one free concert, and most nicer restaurants featured their own in-house bands. The only time I didn’t want the mariachi band to play in the restaurant was when my Camoteros were playing on ESPN deported.
Fiestas, Pachangas, and Bodas
I lived in a town of only a couple thousand people, so everybody knew everybody. When someone got married, turned 15 years old, or had a new baby, the whole town was invited to the party. The colors, the music, and the sense of community are still vivid memories I won’t soon forget. My birthday party at Olive Garden with a few friends seems completely lame in comparison to even the smallest party I went to in Mexico. The town also had their annual celebration to venerate their favorite Saint, revolutionary hero, or Pope – and the food was always incredible.
Real Mexican Food
Since I moved back to America I have only had one meal that was close enough to authentic Mexican food that I could close my eyes and imagine I was still there. (In case you are wondering, it was not at Taco Bell.) Every tour book and the travel agent will tell you to avoid eating food from street vendors when you’re in Mexico because you will most likely get sick. I would trade a week of Montezuma’s revenge for one good Taco al Pastor any time; and what I wouldn’t give to have a quesadilla not made from cheddar cheese. Unfortunately, state health departments regulate restaurants too closely to allow for any really good Mexican food here in America, so I’ll have to bide my time until I can afford a plane ticket back.
Good soccer, good food, good music, and good times. I grew up American through and through, but spending a few years in Mexico made me think that had I been born south of the border, I would have fit in just fine.
Court Reporter Jobs Disappearing?
Judicial officials say that replacing court reporters with digital recordings could mean an increased cost to taxpayers, and it could also mean less accurate court transcripts.
The senior resident superior court judge stated that he was not opposed replacing live court reporters with digital recorders. However, he felt that there was a little way to go with the technology to fully implement it.
The National Center for State Courts performed the study.
The Administrative Office of Courts released a report saying that recorders should be used in court proceedings that are more severe in nature, such as, civil and criminal court proceedings in the Superior Court. However, digital recorders are being utilized in many countries for most District Court proceedings.
If digital recording becomes the new standard then it will replace 100 court reporter jobs including 2 in Robeson county.
The office that runs the court system (The Administrative Office of Courts) recently conducted a study of the salary and the demand for court reporters after a request came in from the General Assembly a year ago. There was an estimated $2 million that would be saved if private reporters were hired on a demand basis and recording equipment was installed in the courtrooms instead. According to the Senate plan! The state’s staff of 100 reporters would be cut in half, and it would reduce the state’s budget.
John Smith, the Administrative Office of Courts Director stated that the agency is not for getting rid of live court reporters. However, according to The News & Observer of Raleigh, there should be a “gradual transition to an appropriate mix.” This means that there should be a use of both digital recordings and live recorders. The complex cases should be reserved for live court reporters and the routine matters would be digital recordings.
Robeson County judges, court reporters, the district attorney, the public defender and others representing the local courts met recently with state Sen. Michael Walters and state Rep. Charles Graham, both of Robeson County, and James L. Boles Jr., of Moore County, to air their concerns. Boles is co-chairman of the House Justice and Public Safety Appropriations Committee, while Graham is a member of the committee.
