You walked over and he was already scrambling to grab some napkins and clean it up, you came over and helped him. He cried and thanked you. After that day, you earned yourself a stalker.

It was the PERFECT gift. The best possible gift anyone could ever buy, and you were able to snatch it before anyone else. A few islands ago, while shopping with Usopp, he had mentioned a new set of super rare paints that were going to be released soon. He had expressed to you that he really wanted them, but there was a chance you'd be out at sea when they released, and basically every artist wanted them, so there was no chance he'd ever get them.

Well you just proved him wrong because YOU GOT THEM. You'd heard from the last island that they would be in stock at the next island...but only for a few days. So...as soon as you docked on the island you told everyone you wouldn't be back till later, causing a bunch of questioning stares. You RAN to the nearest art supply store and bravely FOUGHT your way through to get the paints (you had waited for like 3 hours for them to restock).

By the time you returned to the Sunny, the sun was setting. There was a good chance dinner was over, but you weren't worry since you were sure Sanji saved you a plate. You figured you would sneak off to your bed, hide the paints under your covers, and while Usopp was busy you'd quickly wrap them and give them to him. A simple easy plan to follow. Simple and easy.

What you didn't account for was running into Usopp on the way to your room. Great!!!!!!!!!

"Y/N!! There you are, you missed dinner. I know Sanji probably hid your food somewhere in the kitchen so Luffy doesn't find it, so don't worry about that-" he was going to continue rambling on, when he noticed you hiding a bag behind your back, "What's in there?" he asked.

Shit. You didn't think this out.....

"Um, well its nothing!!"

"Come onnn show meeeee," Usopp whined, "Is that why you were gone all day? What is it?"

You needed to come up with a lie so believable that even the great God Usopp, captain of 8000 men, basically the king of the liars, would be fooled.

"Its super SUPER rare treasure that I got from fighting a scary paint monster!!!! But you can't look at it cause it's mine!' You shouted.

WHAT WAS THAT WHY DID YOU SAY THAT!!!! Literally that was the worst possible lie you ever could have come up with.

It was silent for a good minute till Usopp burst out laughing. He was laughing so hard that he had to clutch his stomach. Great.

"You're a horrible liar," Usopp said in between laughs, "Maybe leave the lying to me, alright?"

Your face was beet red as you sighed and accepted that the surprise was ruined.

"I was going to surprise you with these..." you said, slowly pulling out the paints, "But since that was ruined, here's what I got you."

You could see how his jaw dropped from the sight of the paint. Literally. It hit the floor.

"How-HOW DID YOU GET THESE!!!!!!!!!!"

To say Usopp was happy was a understatement. If it wasn't for the 10000 thank yous and the new gadget he made for you that let you knew he was grateful, his newest story about the brave Y/N and how they saved the great captain Usopp from the evil paint monster made your heart melt.

What do you think about the nickname "Eds" being used by literally everyone but Richie in the 2019 film? 😭

It's just a little interesting because they were going down the Reddie pipeline yet didn't include one of the biggest parts of their relationship. Especially in the novel when Eddie says he felt like the nickname was like a secret identity!

You're right that it's interesting, because it's one of those times where there was, just, no reason for them not to have Richie call Eddie 'Eds'. As you say, particularly when they were going through with the idea of a romantic relationship between them. Like, it wouldn't have diminished anything in the storyline to have Richie use the nickname. I wouldn't even have minded if it was alongside the other Losers using 'Eds', because I do think it's a cute term of endearment no matter who's using it, but it seems almost purposeful that they had everyone BUT Richie use it, yaknow? Which only ends up frustrating me more, because I end up wondering WHY!!!!!

There were so many Reddie-centric times when it would have been perfect for Richie to use it, and for a half-hearted "Don't call me that, dickwad" in return from Eddie. I'm thinking mostly for the "You're braver than you think" scene; I can just imagine the way Richie would look at Eddie with so much fucking tenderness when he hears the insincere hostility of Eddie's response. It would have been even better if they'd introduced the idea of Eddie 'hating' the nickname in the first movie, as then it could have been a callback in the second movie, but either way, god I wish they'd done it.

I can also imagine them using it in Eddie's death scene (which, again, would have been even more poignant if they'd introduced it in the first movie at some point). Even if Eddie never heard it, I would pay so much money to see how Bill Hader would convey the desperation, and show how much Richie wishes that Eddie would chastise him about the name.

It's even weirder that they didn't do it, as you say, considering the whole paragraph in the book that talks about how much Eddie pretended to hate the nickname, but really didn't. I quote: "Man, he had hated when Richie called him Eds... but he had sort of liked it, too. [...] It was something... like a secret name. A secret identity. A way to be people that had nothing to do with their parents' fears, hopes, constant demands." This only gives more reasons as to why it would have been perfect for Richie to call Eddie 'Eds' - it's almost a direct reference to the book, and it kinda gives gratification for those who have read the novel and know how significant the nickname is. But also, it's important outside the Reddie pipeline; of course, one of the big parts of the IT storyline is that it's a coming-of-age, bildungsroman story! There's constant emphasis on the differences between the kids and their parents, and the fact that the nickname 'Eds' acts (at least for Eddie) as a significant barrier between the generations only increases its significance.

Ahhh, I ended up rambling unsurprisingly, but basically my bottom line is that I think they should have had Richie call Eddie 'Eds' and it should have been amazing and I still cannot believe that they let literally everyone else BUT Richie use the nickname deuwreiuxiuw

So my faves so far is:

Delico: he’s the black haired one with short hair and the blond baby and black haired kid. I feel this pull for him which you know means I’ll be simping. But he has this?? Aura?? That I love? The way he takes care of his children. He tries so hard. He literally says they cry endlessly and it’s honestly dreadful but he has the most tender expression! And then another one where he’s like “I’ll chases away anything that makes you cry”CAN YOU FEEL THE LOVE?! He’s strong and well known and they want to give him a mission but he prioritizes his family. I mean are you surprised that I like him given my love for a certain bat dad. Definitely my fave from the moment I laid my eyes on him in the trailer a year ago.

Gerhard: this one! This one has the potential for change! And boy, do I hope we get to see it. He has the potential to be changed by love and get domesticated. You’ll learn about him more in the first episode, but boy do I want parenthood to hit him in the face because he’s so surly and prideful. I just want to see that, you know? Get smacked in the face you long haired stubborn vamp. There’s a scene in the first episode that had me cackling. Kind of reminded me of a scene with Mal and lilia lol.

Okay, so not to make everything relatable to Lilia Vanrouge and how love and his family changed him (but its me, are you surprised?) but THE PARALLELS!! And the potential!!!

So Delico reminds me of current Lilia/Lilia that learned/accepted his ability to love versus Gerhard who reminds me of General Vanrouge who is only about duty and thinks babies should be raised by Nannies and are annoyances etc.

And that’s so funny and interesting to me??? I want to see how this whole situation develops in the future.

Note: Ahhh!! omg! I'm so close to being out of the 160s!!! this is so big for meeeee, especially after being so upset with yesterday's weight! I think me staying under the diets calorie limit is helping, maybe by the end of this ill be under 155! god I hope so, even if its like only one extra pound. I had work again today and I really do think being on my feet for hours on end walking and lifting things is also helping me lose weight, but I do work at a food place so there are moments where I really have to fight myself not to eat, but hey! I'm doing it and id rather be pretty and skinny than risk it for some cookies lol.

okay so idk if you watched/are planning on watching falcon and winter soldier but i watched the first episode the other day and they were speaking french (just a few seconds) and I UNDERSTOOD SOME WORDS DLDJDJ and i was so proud of myself. i‘ve only ever learned french with duolingo lol (i only do like 5 mins a day and that‘s why i was so surprised that i understood some of it!!). and yeah apart from latin i feel like italian, german, french and english are all similar in a sense.. i mean obviously they‘re completely different languages but for example there are some grammatical constructions in french that i think i wouldn‘t understand if i only spoke english? so when i translate those things into english you can‘t directly translate them bc you say things differently, but when i translate them into german then it makes more sense to me. idk that‘s something i noticed so i feel like if you already know multiple languages it‘s easier to learn another language compared to if you only know one language and are trying to learn a second one. even if the languages aren‘t similar then i think you get the hang of it easier.

ikd slsjsjs also i don‘t want you to think that i‘m a linguistic genius or anything lmfao, like i‘m only fluent in english and german and i‘m just a wannabe (ew that word) polyglot sksj (yes i had to google polyglot— i do think learning ancient greek would be super cool tho? like imagine studying latin AND ancient greek, whew). and honestly i don‘t think i‘ll ever be fluent in another language bc i don‘t plan on living anywhere other than germany or possibly england and i‘m not dedicated enough to properly learn any other languages esp if i don‘t have anyone to speak the language with. but i still try my best and i just love language/languages as a whole so yeah i‘m happy & just learning as much as i can dkdjh🥰
