In 1992, seeking an advanced degree in photography, I entered the San Francisco Art Institute, I studied with Jack Fulton, Linda Connor, Rebecca Solnit, Sandra Phillips, I was a TA to Pirkle Jones and also a TA for Jerry Bruchard, and Hank Wessel was on my graduating committee. I was the first Native American to get a MFA in photography out of the San Francisco Art Institute.

The Namibia Industrial Development Agency (Nida) is owed N$89 million in rent arrears by over 1,000 tenants. The Minister of Industrialization and Trade has ordered Nida to recover the money within 60 days. So far, N$4 million has been collected, resulting in the eviction of non-complying tenants and the recruitment of new occupants

2. Over 300 pensioners in Windhoek are demanding that the City write off their municipal debts and introduce a prepaid water and electricity system due to financial hardship caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The pensioners argue that the City's approach of contracting debt collectors to recover debts is devastating and there should be alternative ways to recover defaulted accounts.

The introduction of a prepaid water and electricity system is also requested, as the current billing system creates a burden for pensioners, especially with old infrastructure.

3. 24 people have died from suspected gas inhalation in the Angelo informal settlement in Boksburg, South Africa.

The gas leak is believed to have occurred from a gas cylinder used by illegal miners operating in the settlement.

Witnesses describe a scene of panic and tragedy, with parents dying while trying to save their children from the strong smell of the gas.

4. SA military trainees were mistakenly attacked by members of the Presidential Protection Unit (PPU), causing them to fear for their lives during what they thought was a hijacking.

A policeman handed himself to the police after he shot dead his pregnant ex-wife at the Brits Hospital in the North West, South Africa.The police sergeant, 39, submitted himself in at the Brits police station on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, for the murder of the 35-year-old pregnant woman.“It is alleged that the police officer, who is stationed at Rapid Rail in Silverton, Pretoria and residing at Ga-Rankuwa, went to Brits Hospital where his ex-wife was working,” said North West police spokesperson, Brigadier Sabata Mokgwabone.“According to information, the wife, who was working as a switchboard operator, was at the hospital entrance when the suspect fired several shots and instantly killed the victim,”Mokgwabone said the police officer handed himself over to the police after the incident and was expected to appear soon before the Brits Magistrate’s Court."The motive of the incident is unknown at this stage and investigations by the Independent Police Investigative Directorate are under way.”Mokgwabone said the North West provincial police commissioner, Lieutenant General Sello Kwena, condemned the incident and conveyed his deepest condolences to the victim’s family, friends and colleagues.He urged employees to use the services of the Employee Health and Wellness and other professionals, bearing in mind that this was the second incident involving police officers in less than a month.Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) spokesperson, Robbie Raburabu said the couple's divorce was finalised last year.He will appear in the Brits Magistrate's Court on Tuesday in connection with a charge of murder, which IPID is investigatingSpokesperson for the North West Department of Health, Tebogo Lekgethwane, told News24 the incident happened outside the hospital premises.He said employees, witnesses, and the woman's family would receive counselling.Lekgethwane added that Health MEC Madoda Sambatha visited the hospital and urged authorities to act against the perpetrator."The department is shocked by this incident, and MEC Madoda Sambatha condemns it in the strongest terms possible. The Reality is The Yorks are the WORST! SF didn't like the Yorks and for the most part the Yorks didn't like SF. There is a long tale about how the DeBartolo and Policy were deep with Willie Brown and Rose Pak. Newsom was just cocky and really not paying attention. Turning on SF was Denise and Jed's way of thumbing their nose at the "old San Francisco" that had shunned them because they weren't of substance more fluff than thinking. Oh, they also didn't know when to shut up. Apparently Jed York would let Denise do all the talking and if she didn't like someone ( Say Stanley Gotti who RUINED an event for her ) She blabbed about it all over town but the fact was Denise didn't want to pay Stan's bill for the premier SF Symphony event and that was the truth so, Stan stayed and Denise left. There is some other rumors Jed Jr. was a little more than awkward and would put his foot in anyone's mouth. There is something else, The Santa Clara team was ten times more corrupt than anything DeBartolo did but he didn't see them coming either...talk about the long game. The Mayor of Santa Clara resigned right after the 2016 Super Bowl was finished. Next, the tax breaks and freebies the 49ers got from Santa Clara is hysterical and if that doesn't scream bullsheit ....

The Yorks are poor losers and worse bad dealers. In the lines of the final agreement 49ers were to keep the kids soccer field alone that had been on the site for over 30 years. Less than 3 years later the 49ers and Jed wanted to boot the kids out and put in a private VIP parking lot. Also in the 2022 election the Santa Clara electoral was privy to the Millions of NFL dollars to put into candidates for the City to be more "kinder" to the 49ers.
