“hey,”  she  called  out,  falling  into  step  next  to  tabby  on  the  way  to  the  cafeteria.  she  always  felt  a  little  better  whenever  one  of  the  other  girls  were  around,  like  she  didn’t  have  to  look  over  her  shoulder  every  five  seconds.  like  she  could  breathe  again.  this  whole  thing  was  bullshit  and  she  was  over  it.  “what  time’s  your  shift?”  she  asked,  muttering  a  quick  ‘ asshole ’ under  her  breath  when  some  douchebag  refused  to  move  out  of  the  middle  of  the  hallway.  “not  you,  that  guy,”  she  reassured  her  friend,  pointing  a  thumb  over  her  shoulder.
