IND vs. AUS 3rd ODI
Got up a bit early to catch some of Australia at bat. If you've got Hulu w/ ESPN+ in the USA, you can catch the game on either platform- though I recommend Hulu as the ESPN version seems bit janky for some reason.
India has very good bowlers, but its the batting side that seems to be inconsistent. It doesn't help that Australia's bowlers are very well up to the challenge. Mitchell Starc being one of the key threats.
Suryakumar Yadav("SKY") is still looking to get better established in ODI cricket. He's struggled in the longer formats. The ins and outs of India national team decision making are pretty complicated, so I'm not sure how long they'll give him to prove himself. He's batting 4th, which seems to be a good sign.
As i'm typing this Alex Carey just took the extra delivery after a no-ball to hit six... woof. Carey and Stoinis seem to be putting together a productive partnership.
India fielding also has looked a little sluggish.
It will be exciting to see how India chases. Both teams aren't really at any risk in ODI standings, this is just the top two teams going at each other with great lineups.

[ad_1] India Women getting prepared for West Indies (PC: BCCI Women/X) After a tough 3-0 loss in the ODI series against Australia, India Women return to the T20 format, eager to bounce back in a three-match series against the West Indies at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. For the hosts, it is a chance to close out a mixed year on a high note, while also  laying the groundwork for the next ICC T20 World Cup. For the visitors, a team brimming with confidence after a strong World Cup showing and improved performances in 2024, it is an opportunity to break their eight-match losing streak against India. India: New Faces, Familiar Dependence India’s T20 struggles this year have been masked by decent overall results — 13 wins from 20 matches — but their shortcomings in crunch moments have cost them dearly, including a group-stage exit at the T20 World Cup. A lot will once again depend on the experienced duo of Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur, having shunned Shafali Verma, the second highest scorer for India in T20Is this year. Mandhana’s recent form, capped by a century in the ODI series, makes her India’s key player, while Harmanpreet has to rise to the occasion both as a captain and a batter as the team looks to reset. The likes of Jemimah Rodrigues and Richa Ghosh will need to step up in the middle order, alongside all-rounder Deepti Sharma, whose consistency remains a key asset. Among the new faces, Uttarakhand’s Nandini Kashyap and Raghvi Bist bring promising domestic records, while seamer Saima Thakor could earn her cap after an impressive WPL season. Nandini Kashyap Wicketkeeper-batter, bats as an opener. Overall – 12 T20s, 579 runs, SR 131.89, Avg 57.90, 4 Fifties and 1 Century. She was the 3rd highest run-scorer in the Senior Women’s T20 Trophy 2024 (247 runs in 7 inns for Uttarakhand). Highest run-scorer in the Senior Women’s T20 Challenger Trophy 2024 (332 runs in 5 inns for India E). 60 (45) vs India A, 48* (50) vs India D, 94 (65) vs India C, 74 (42) vs India B, 56 (40) vs India A. Overall – 26 T20 inns, 539 runs, Avg 26.95, SR 113.47, 3 Fifties, no Century. She was the 5th highest-run scorer for India E, scoring 162 runs in five innings. With the ball, 12 inns, 8 wickets, Econ 5.47. For the Latest Sports News: Click Here Hayley Matthews for West Indies (PC: Hayley Matthews/X) West Indies: Dottin’s Power and Matthews’ Leadership West Indies Women enter this series with confidence, buoyed by an impressive World Cup campaign where they reached the semifinals. West Indies will also carry the confidence of doing well in Asian conditions this year. They have defeated Pakistan in Pakistan and Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka earlier this year. Deandra Dottin’s return to international cricket has been a game-changer for them. Her ability to dominate with the bat and contribute with the ball was showcased during the T20 World Cup and her successful WBBL stint. Skipper Hayley Matthews, both an explosive opener and a reliable all-rounder, remains the backbone of this West Indian side. Without Stafanie Taylor, their experience will be tested, but players like Qiana Joseph, Shemaine Campbelle and Aaliyah Alleyne provide depth to their batting lineup, while Karishma Ramharack, Afy Fletcher and Chinelle Henry will spearhead the bowling attack. West Indies’ recent T20 form — six wins in their last eight games — will give them the belief that they can finally challenge India. Head-to-Head in T20Is India have dominated this rivalry, winning 13 of the 21 matches played between the two sides. West Indies, with only eight wins, have a point to prove, especially after losing their last eight games against India. The Venue: DY Patil Stadium The DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai has witnessed five women’s T20Is so far, with chasing sides holding a clear edge, winning four of those games. The average first-innings score at the
venue stands at 155, but the pitch often eases out under lights, making it favourable for teams bowling first. Smriti Mandhana has enjoyed this ground, amassing 213 runs in five innings, while Deepti Sharma and Radha Yadav have been the standout bowlers here. For India, this series offers a much-needed opportunity to rebuild and improve. For West Indies, a win in the opener could set the tone for breaking their poor record against India and further cementing their progress. With impact players like Harmanpreet, Mandhana, Matthews, and Dottin on either side, the opening clash promises fireworks and high stakes as two competitive teams aim to start strong in Navi Mumbai. [ad_1] Australia vs India, 3rd ODI (PC: BCCI Women and Australia Women’s Cricket/X) Australia completed a clean sweep with an 83-run win over India in the third ODI at the WACA Ground, Perth, securing the three-match series 3-0. Annabel Sutherland’s century, Tahlia McGrath’s counter-attacking fifty, and Ashleigh Gardner’s all-round brilliance took the game away from Harmanpreet Kaur’s team. Smriti Mandhana’s century went in vain as India collapsed at the end, losing their last seven wickets for just 26 runs. Harmanpreet Kaur won the toss and chose to bowl first. Priya Mishra, who conceded 88 runs in the previous game, was dropped, along with injured opener Priya Punia. Titas Sadhu and Arundhati Reddy made it into the playing XI. Georgia Voll and Phoebe Litchfield gave Australia a solid start with a 58-run opening stand. Arundhati struck twice in the 11th over, dismissing both openers. She continued her excellent spell, removing Ellyse Perry (4) and Beth Mooney (10). At 78/4, Australia was in trouble, and India seemed in control. However, Sutherland and Gardner showed great composure. They steadied the innings with a 96-run partnership for the fifth wicket. Deepti Sharma dismissed Gardner for 50, but then skipper McGrath joined Sutherland. Together, they added 122 runs for the sixth wicket. Sutherland reached her third ODI century, scoring 110 before being dismissed. She became the first Australian to score a WODI century batting at No. 5 or lower. McGrath remained unbeaten on 56 off 50 balls, helping Australia finish at 298/6 in 50 overs despite the early setbacks. For the Latest Sports News: Click Here Arundhati Reddy after taking a wicket in the third ODI (PC: BCCI Women/X) Arundhati Reddy was the standout bowler for India, taking four wickets for 26 runs. It was the third-best figure by a visiting bowler against Australia in WODIs. Other bowlers, including Titas Sadhu, Saima Thakor, Minnu Mani, and Renuka Singh, went wicketless. Deepti Sharma took one wicket but was expensive, conceding 77 runs in nine overs at an economy rate of 8.55. India had a chance to seize the game after reducing Australia to 78/4. However, loose bowling and dropped catches allowed the Australian batters to make a comeback. Questions arose about Harmanpreet’s leadership and whether she had backup plans when things did not go as expected. In the chase, Richa Ghosh opened but managed only two runs. Smriti Mandhana and Harleen Deol looked promising, adding 118 runs for the second wicket. Australia’s fielding was sloppy, with several missed chances. Harleen fell for 39, leaving fans hoping for contributions from Harmanpreet and Jemimah Rodrigues. Unfortunately, both fell cheaply—Harmanpreet scored 12 off 22 balls, and Jemimah added 16 off 11. Australia with the winning trophy after defeating India 3-0 (PC: Australia Women’s Cricket/X) Smriti brought up her ninth ODI century but was dismissed soon after, scoring 105 off 109 balls. Gardner claimed her wicket, dismissing her for the fifth time in WODIs—the most by any bowler against Smriti in this format. India’s score of 189/3 quickly turned into 189/6 after losing three wickets in quick succession. The remaining batters added only 26 runs, and India was bowled out for 215 in 45.1 overs. Australia won by 83 runs, completing the clean sweep. Gardner excelled with the ball, claiming a five-wicket haul. Sutherland was named Player of the Match and Player of the Series for her exceptional all-round performance, scoring 122 runs and taking six wickets in the series. Brief Scores: Australia 298/6 in 50 overs (Annabel Sutherland 110, Arundhati Reddy 4/26) defeat India 215 all-out in 45.1 overs (Smriti Mandhana 105, Ashleigh Gardner 5/30) by 83 runs Also Read: Voll and Perry star as Australia crush India to seal series The post Australia Complete 3-0 Sweep: Sutherland, Gardner Shine as India Collapse Despite Smriti’s Ton appeared first on Sports News Portal | Latest Sports Articles | Revsports.
