Born October 15th, 1924, in Inez, Texas

Died August 18th, 2005 (age 80), in Burlingame, California

Tony Garcia was born in Texas but he grew up in Cheyenne, Wyoming. His parents were from Mexico and had immigrated separately into the States. Tony and his siblings grew up speaking English and Spanish. He decided to drop out of high school in order to enlist, and even borrowed a friend's prescription medicine to cover up a heart murmur for his Army physical. He was accepted for training in 1943, and he served a Technician 5th Grade with Easy Company from Holland all the way through the end of the war. After the war, Tony returned to Cheyenne where he finished high school, then he moved to San Francisco, working and attending college. Later, he met his wife, Nancy, and started a family. They were married nearly 60 years, and had four children together. When he wasn’t working at the department store warehouse which he managed for three decades, he enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, dancing, and reading. He was described as a kind, generous, and gentle man, with a “playful sense of humor that belied his quiet demeanor.” The Band of Brothers series bible describes him as “very gung-ho and game” and a “family man and extremely compassionate.” He kept in touch with several of his friends from Easy, and he participated in many Easy Company reunions and events in the U.S. and in Europe. His family has said that he was very reluctant to talk about his combat experiences, but he did like to talk about the people he met, and the families who helped him. i imagine when the avalance kid is like 6 she spends the whole month of october deliberating on what her halloween costume shld be, and all the legends are trying to have her pick their costume, using gideon to fabricate tiny versions of their suits, but the kid kinds of sees them as her parents lame friends and goes with supergirl instead. kara is so pleased she shows up in full costume to the kid's halloween party. it makes local headlines.

Listen yall, I know Hunter and Wrecker are gonna be mad at Crosshair, but that just makes me so frustrated.

Bro had a chip. And ENHANCED chip. They BURNED it into his BRAIN.

He had no choice.

And they understood that! They found out about the chips. Found out their brother was forced to try and kill them. Wreckers chip malfunctioned and he tried to do the SAME THING.

But it was too dangerous to try and rescue Crosshair, because it was his "nature".

Then Hunter gets captured and suddenly it's not too dangerous and they go and they are successful.

And Crosshair rescues his brothers and helps them. He shoots stormtroopers over and over again. He saves Omega from drowning. And it's still not enough to get his brother's guns off his back.

His first realization chip-free is that his brothers didn't come for him, didn't care to try.

Even when they knew he wasn't in control. They KNEW and they STILL didn't even TRY.

His first choice is to leave them, because there must be something fundamentally WRONG with him if they wouldn't give him even the smallest chance, the benefit of the doubt.

He's the sniper, he's always had their back. He's used to no one having his own, because he's their last line of defense. He's used to it, he KNOWS it.

But he never imagined they would actually leave him behind.

Why would he ever go with his brothers then? They barely put up a fight leaving him on Kamino. They had him right there, no danger to be seen, and they didn't fight for him. And maybe he said he didn't have his chip, but the fact that they believed him capable of all of it without it told him more than anything what his "brothers" thought of him.

I understand that Hunter and Wrecker are hurt. I understand they have been through a lot. I understand that Crosshair did things that give them nightmares and I understand that they are soldiers and betrayal from family is the worst.

But my gosh if they don't at least acknowledge the trauma and apologize to Crosshair ONCE during this season I am going to lose it.

okay but the unexplored potential of a revali and purah dynamic

revali is so keen to be the best of the best and push himself past all conceivable limits, and purah wants to find the limits of sheikah tech and magic only to barrel past them and nearly become god

so one day, purah comes to revali "how high can medoh fly?" and he pauses bc he hasnt thought about that much, which he realises is asinine how has he not thought of taking her higher "well her resting altitude is x but its possible to go higher, though i dont know her limits" and they just look at each other bc well now they have too know-

and it continues like that, purah coming to revali with questions about medoh or the rito or his wind magic or eventually just requests for assistance "i need you to fly this up there for me, clear out this monster camp, ect ect" and revali loving the attention and the chance to show off, and that hes able to prove himself as truly better (he often tries to rope in the other champions to compare) and purah is loving all the data and the chance to work so closely with a pilot and they both compliment each others personalities quite well, both sassy and intelligent and where purah is overbearing and bubbly revali is insecure and sulky

anyway this is all pre calamity stuff, i want them to be very good friends and cause chaos together and push each other to constantly better each other, and purah would scoff at revalis creative insults but internally laugh and file them away to use later, and revali may act uninterested when purah talks for hours about conclusions shes come to and different approaches they could take hes actually paying complete attention and thinking of ways to use this knowledge in piloting or training

Is anyone else having weird issues with searching certain tags?

Like, this is the situation i’ve been encountering

Looking at latest posts from clicking on the “DPxDC” tag on my followed tag list only loads a couple posts at most before hitting an end as if I read all of them

Searching that tag in the search bar and sorting by latest will also lead to the same issue

Searching the “DP x DC” tag on the search bar and sorting by latest will also encounter a similar issue, though it’ll load a few more posts before stopping

Same with searching “DC x DP” (maybe the spaces are making them read as being the same to the system?)

But not “DCxDP” - that works just fine in the search bar

Back to the “DP x DC” tag again: despite not working through the search bar, it’ll work fine if accessed through my followed tags instead

And also sorting by “top” in any of those aforementioned cases also seems to fix the issue with the number of results??

Though I have encountered similar “surprisingly short search results” situations while sorting by top when looking at some other tags. I’m just not confident if those were actually the same issue since I was trying to search multiple tags

Also as a possibly separate thing I can’t find some tags I know I’ve used before when using the search function on this blog

All of this is occurring on the IOS app in what is (according to the app store) the latest version available to me (version 35.3). I don’t think the problem started until I downloaded that update, but I’m not certain.

How are you adjusting to the whole Norse mythology situation?

LEO: I’ve mostly been bugging some of the older einherjar, and Hunding, a little bit, to figure this place out. Do you know how cool it is that some people have been here since the industrial revolution?? There's no way that I'm the first of my dad's kids to make it here. I just don't know who to talk to about it.

((Leo's coping mechanism re: Norse mythology is just hating himself more bc of course he doesn't belong in his own afterlife. but he won't admit that to anyone bc he doesn't know who can be vulnerable with.))
