as someone who scrolled the phighting tag on ao3 for an hour once to find good fics, i have a few:

I can't phucking aim (A Phighting SI) by Vauschen — this one's my absolute favorite one, almost no romance at all and focuses a lot on each phighter and some npcs and their characterization. the whole fic has almost 100 chapters and they're all really good

The Art of Trust by dysphanic_redshift — This one mostly focuses on medkit and sword's relationship and also doesn't ship medkit with anyone

Heart of Iron by IN3BWURM — i'm not sure i need to explain this one, given how popular it is (for good reason). anyways, it's about a biograft who gains sentience and follows his escape from blackrock as he discovers his backstory and how he became sentient. (still waiting for a 25th chapter in3bwurm please)

I Celebrate the Day That You Changed My History by subspacing — so this one is a medhammer fic, but it is NOT smut and actually focuses on how medhammer could be a plausible relationship and how this affects both characters
