#IM THINKING ABOUT JOE AND DARA TOO HARD OK FINE I'LL FUCKING ADMIT IT#OTL WHAT IF THEY LOVED EACH OTHER. WHAT IF IT DIDN'T MEAN ANYTHING BUT IT MEANT EVERYTHING#SCREAMS#what if dara was haunted by the perfect version of joe in her head while he's gone because she misses him too much to see the flaws#what if he came back finally allowing himself to be himself with all his flaws#and dara threw away the perfect version of him she'd been making for herself#because she's just happy he's here#what if joe before he left was forced to build a new picture of dara in his mind#one that's pretty objectively a bad person#but he held on to the hope that he was wrong and fought his way back to her#to find her changed in ways he couldn't quite place but her smile wasn't hesitant and she reached for his hand in confidence#what if they both finally allowed themselves to love each other the way they want#to love themselves the way they want#what if they'd been so scared for so long and now that they're here it feels so naturally easy#they can't believe they hadn't tried it before
