Over the course of your marriage, which is still relatively new, Draken has developed a tendency to ignore you when you address him by any name other than a select few. 

Because he knows it’s force of habit for you, he may on occasion answer when you call out “Draken,” though he’s always sure to remind you that he doesn’t prefer it when you call him that. 

He always answers to his given name, loving the way “Ken” sounds dripping from between your lips, especially during those breathless moments the two of you share in bed. 

But, even still, that’s not the name he most prefers to hear you utter. 

“Kenny the Pooh?”

Ah, there it is.

A small smile curling his mouth upward, Ken turns to greet you as you enter your home, a “welcome back baby” poised on his lips. 

Ken pauses, however, brows furrowing deeply upon seeing the wiggling bundle you’re holding in your coat. 

“__...please tell me that’s not what I think it is.”

You’re silent for several moments, still wrestling with the bundle and pointedly avoiding Ken’s skeptical gaze. 

“Weeeelll…that depends on what you think it is.”

“Ok yes, issa pup!” Right on cue, the wiggling pauses and a small, furry brown head peeks up from your coat collar. 

Ken sighs, lightly pinching the bridge of his nose to stave off his impending headache.

“__, what on Earth are we going to do with a pup?”

You give him an incredulous look. 

“What you mean “what we gone do”? We gone keep ‘im and we gone love ‘im, duh.”

Ken sighs again, louder and more exasperated this time. 

He’s no stranger to entertaining shenanigans (thank Manjiro for that) but he’s never had to care for a stray other than himself before, especially not one of the canine persuasion. 

“Do you know how to care for a dog? And are you aware of the responsibility that’s associated with something like that?”

You nod enthusiastically. “Yes! I had a pup when I was a little girl. She was my best friend in the whole world. The hole she left in my heart when she died was too big a gap for any other dog to fill for a long time, but now I think I’m ready to try again.”

Your smile is wistful and sad, until your gaze flicks down to the little puppy teething on your fingers. Your smile becomes much brighter and larger as you watch the tiny thing, and Ken knows immediately that he no longer has the heart to deny you this. 

Not that he ever really did in the first place but shush. 

“Ok, fine. We’ll keep it. But the brunt of the responsibility will lie firmly on your shoulders. You know I don’t have much time to devote to caring for a dog what with running the shop.”

“Oh I know. Don’t worry, I’ll take care of everything. And besides, you’ll love this little guy in no time. I already do.” 

Ken shakes his head, chuckling quietly before turning back to the sink. 

It turns out, you were right. Little time has elapsed before Ken and the aptly named Coco are thick as thieves. The steadily growing pup is shaping up to be quite well behaved, with a naturally even temperament. He’s also very intelligent, even somewhat helping you and Ken around the house and shop respectively. 

“So, you glad I brought Coco home or what?”

Your eyes silently dare the blonde man to say anything negative, seeing as he’s currently got Coco cradled in one of his arms, the other hand holding a toy for the pup to try and capture. 

Pausing mid coo, Ken fondly rolls his eyes, smiling as he absentmindedly shakes the toy. 

“Yeah yeah, I’m glad. Happy?”

“Very,” you reply, leaning in for a quick smooch.

“Kenny the Pooh! My dear Kenny the Pooh!”

Ken, who was previously working on one of the bikes in the shop, immediately drops his tools, apologizing quietly at the loud sound which disturbs the resting Coco. 

“Yes my love, what do you want?”

You, who had just made it to the bottom step, fold your arms across your chest haughtily. 

“Hmph, why do you just assume I want something?”

“Because the last time you called me by that name, we all of sudden were responsible for an extra life.” He throws a pointed sidelong glance at Coco, whose ears perk up but who otherwise doesn’t move. 

“Not that you mind all that much apparently. He even gets to chill in the shop while you work. I don’t even get to do that!”

“That’s because you don’t know how to behave down here. You wanna touch everything and ask me a million questions. I love you, but it’s distracting.” 

Unable to refute Ken’s words, and now feeling a little bad, you make your way over to him, gently massaging his shoulders and resting your head on top of his with a sigh. 

“Well, I’m sorry I find what my man does so interesting. And I suppose you’re saying Coco is better behaved than me?”

“Quite.”

You scoff, playfully smacking your husband’s shaved head, chuckling along with him. 

You continue massaging Ken’s shoulders as he works for a bit, until Coco begins to grow fidgety. 

“I think he needs outside. C’mere Coco!”

The pup quickly makes his way over to you, lifting up on his hind legs and pawing at your thigh. 

Cooing at how cute he is, you pick him up, lifting one of his little paws and waving it back and forth at Ken. 

“Tell Daddy you’ll see him later.” 

Almost seeming to understand your words, Coco barks happily once. You give him a little scritch behind the ears and a “good boy,” turning to say something to Ken before you depart, when what you see has you stopping in your tracks. 

Your husband is flushed red from the tips of his ears down to his cheeks and all down his neck. It’s a little alarming, and you’ve half a mind to ask him if he’s alright before he begins speaking. 

“Daddy, huh?”

You blink once, twice, before a wicked smirk curls your lips upward. 

“Yes, daddy. Is something wrong?” Smirk now gone, you blink innocently up at him, guffawing internally at his reaction to such an absentminded thing on your part. 

Ken doesn’t respond for some moments, before turning back to what he was doing. 

“When you’re done tending to Coco, come back down here. I’ve got something I’d like to show you.”

“Mmhm, and that would be?”

“Oh nothing special. I just wanted to show you how much easier it is to see the intricate parts of a motorcycle when you’re bent over it.”

Now it’s your turn to be flustered, and Ken’s smoldering gaze sure isn’t helping.

Turning, you hurry to do as instructed, murmuring a “yes daddy” before you depart, a none-the-wiser Coco in tow.

ummmm my favorite thing ive written is probs tied between Éomer's 2B date (go to a celebratory bonfire w/ him) because there's a lot of silliness, it's just very lighthearted + cute!! or Faramir's first date?? it's actually hard to pick a specific date bc Faramir is just very fun to write. I adore him so much lol — his first date's a little library meetcute and you get to give him a kiss on the nose and listen to him be So autistic about Really Old Texts (it's what he deserves)

uuuuuuuuuuu well u know as a Boromir Guy. a certified Boromir Enjoyer. Enjoyer of Boromir. there's just. oagh theres so much. I was rewatching th Osgiliath scene again for reasons (quotin it for sth i think) and the way he behaves with Faramir vs how he behaves with Denethor is so. im DERANGED i need to sit down w/ Sean Bean and talk abt Boromir for fucking hours. the way he prepares himself to have to speak w/ his father, the disbelieving shake of his head at Denethor's "I know his uses and they are few" line about Faramir. the "one more moment of peace can he not give us that" line. "the victory is Faramir's as well" and he's grinning, his nod of encouragement, motioning Faramir over because he's RIGHT and Faramir's achievements deserve to be recognized and they're fighting fucking FORCES OF MORDOR so how could he possibly blame his brother for Osgiliath falling? they reclaimed it and they're alive and that's cause for celebration! im so.

Boromir son of Denethor seeing the best in people. when he could so easily and so understandably be completely fucking pessimistic. He is ON THE FRONTLINES he would have every excuse to be a bitter jaded asshole having grown up with the sole purpose of being a soldier. he lives only to serve!!! and he lives watching the people he is supposed to safeguard suffering and dying, watching the darkness of Mordor spread with little hope of vanquishing it, only keeping it at bay for a time. it has been long since he had any hope!!!!!! and yet the victory is Faramir's too! his baby brother who he is so proud of, who he sees the absolute best in, who he longs for Denethor to see the good in too because Faramir is trying his absolute fucking best and Boromir sees that!! Boromir, who sees Merry and Pippin's determination and takes the time to coach them in swordplay when others would have made them stay behind. they're only hobbits, after all. what could they do? (quite a lot, naturally, but it was Boromir at first who empowered them to be more than just tagalongs. who thought they should be more prepared and took the time and energy to make sure they were.)

there is frailty in men but there is goodness too. the world is cruel and awful and he is surrounded by violence and death. and even a wizard like Gandalf can die. but there is goodness in men. goodness in the world!! Minas Tirith is on the brink of disaster but it is beautiful and he longs to return. even diminished, she is beautiful!! and he wants to share that. he wants to share Faramir's victories. he knows firsthand how horrifically cruel the world can be but he sees the best in the people around him and he wants others to see it too. ARGH!!!!!!!!

ALSO. ive talked abt it in another post floating around somewhere but while i do love book!Faramir i think he is. kind of a nightmare person. in that he has some Deepset Prejudices that he Needs To Unpack. smacking the shit out of him with a cardboard tube.

and while i thnk there are valid criticisms to make abt movie!Faramir i do actually GENUINELY adore that he is tempted by the ring. because on one side of it, his temptation mirrors Boromir's in that it is done out of love (desire for his father's love and approval vs Boromir's love for his people) and that he overcomes it. because that is Boromir's Baby Brother and isnt the goal of it all for the younger generations to surpass the older? isn't the hope that Faramir would learn from Boromir's failures and be better? not repeat them? and he doesn't. he is flawed and he is tempted by much the same thing and yet he does not fall!! and that's not to say there's any Legitimate moral failing on either of their parts because its the fucking One Ring, but i think its just. very poignant. I genuinely prefer it way more than the book where hes all "I would NEVER take the ring!!!"

but he also has his whole "boromir died well, achieving some good, and was even more beautiful in death than in life" thing and that gets into the spirituality of middle earth and the layers of Weirdness there which im not abt to unpack on this ask. not a fan of it in the slightest. shaking Boromir's hand for being rebellious against god tho i would be too if i was living in that whole fucking sitch. if the only thing my brother could say was "idfk if he fucked up or not but he was more beautiful in death than ever so ik he died a holy death, which is preferrable" my ghost would start throwing bricks.

also, having movie!Faramir fall prey to the ring when book!Faramir is like this. paragon of grace and goodness and holiness who Cannot be tempted. idk i think especially with Aragorn grappling with his humanity and frailty as a man, having Faramir Also be tempted is sooooo. like. augh!!! it is not a failure to be tempted. you can still be Good and Gracious and Lordly and a Paragon Of Men. he is Still Faramir even though he fell prey to the call of the ring. he resisted. he let Frodo go, putting his own life at risk in the process, because he is still a Good Man even though he is flawed. even though he almost didn't. movie!Faramir my beloved!!!!!!!

LASTLY ik ive talked abt this a couple times but it is fucking DERANGED to me that Éomer is only twenty-eight in TA 3019. HE SHOULD'VE BEEN IN THE TAVEEEEEERRRNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

disjointed (akira) pt2 ch1-8 thoughts. srry ch9&10 but....i cant stay away from alchstar main story update any longer....

the fact akira tears up like 3 times in 8 chs vs djgr who tears up like once (in the manga!!!!!! not even ingame!!!!!) after leaving zinkenstill cuz the sky is pretty makes me. explode. in my head akira cried that first night too cuz lord thats a lot happening for one tiny heart. anyway the fact most? of the main story times akira cries are because of the relief once somethings stressfuls over & the like makes me....@_@ akira........

akira is SO normal.....SO SO normal..........i love that about them.....struggling to find the words to respond to vincent......their feelings towards living in society.....this lonely room.......(but also the concept of akira only finding the room lonely After theyve gotten sacri because they will now always know what its like to have a companion in there at all times......pet owners do u get me). anyway ive called akira normal plenty of times (and its important to me<3 the more normie i can make akira the happier i am) but everytime they add to it i get sooOOoOOoOoo i rly do love it. akiras just a little dude. who doesnt always know what to say. who wishes they knew what to say. who likes people. who doesnt like people. who wants to be together. who wants to be alone. but 1) i Was gonna finish everything on akira first but then i rmbrd my farming drafts here and i WANNA DO THEM SO BAAAD....so..maybe ill do them first anyway..... 2) which makes me think of akira in farming sim au again cuz. im not sure if i have it on their verse page or not?!?! i dont think i do?!?! but its.......one of the few aus im leaning toward them not having met the wizards.....so they can be more closed-off and tired and just Not say half the stuff they say...making empty promises cuz they havent started to adopt cherishing their words more.....not to say akira who Has met the wizards is the Biggest Difference, but they Do more easily compliment ppl and Is calmer and Do have a certain. hrm. their words weigh more heavily? theyve always had a very kind and reliable aura, but after meeting the wizards they do feel more dependable.

uh i say all that but also the wizards means So much to akira both love-wise and development-wise that its also soooo hard to Not have akira knowing them........its like if gran didnt have lyria and vyrn. unfortunately vyrns rly hard to put into modern stuff, i WANT to make him a lizard like sincerely but how do u travel nonstop with a lizard?!?!??!? dog makes more sense...i think.............??? more than a lizard at least
