hoo boy another ask. sorry 'bout this Luly, but uh. Had Thoughts About Jack And Dee Again!!
so like. how i imagine June 26th went from Jack's perspective:
he was forced to work at one of his other jobs that day. he Wanted to stay with Dee that day. would've given anything to do it without potentially risking getting fired. but he couldn't. he hoped she'd have a good day, and promised to be back that evening.
now, an extra bit of context: so uh. Jack was REALLY not doing well after his parents died. like. Not At All. he was really close to them, and the knowledge that he likely wouldn't be able to go to college (something he really wanted to do), would have to get a job while he was still grieving because well. their parents' money wouldn't last forever, and they still had stuff like the house and funeral expenses to pay for, and would also have to help care for a child when he did not have the maturity or life experience to handle that. well, it's clear that any mental problems he had before that point were going to get worse. to put it one way, Dee was one of the few things holding him together at that point. scratch that: the MAIN thing holding him together.
so Jack comes back that evening. he has cupcakes for a much smaller party that was gonna be happening that evening with him, Dee, Peter, and Caroline. he shows up, gives a quick hello to Henry, and goes to find his sister.
at first, he can't really see her. huh, that's weird...maybe she's hiding? for one thing, she gets overwhelmed by a lot of noise and bright lights, so maybe she went to hide under a table because of that. she also doesn't like Henry too much. maybe he couldn't take a hint that Dee didn't want to talk to him too much, and so she's hiding from him so he would leave her alone.
either way, Jack starts getting more frantic as he searches around for her in all of the places he could check. calling out for her by saying "Dee, i-it's time to come out now! I'm back! It's time to go home, Sis!" and "DeeDee, this isn't funny! Please, where are you?! C'mon! Let's go home! Please!"
eventually, Jack starts having a breakdown. the realization that Dee's missing hits him like a car. he sits up against the wall and starts basically sobbing.
it's the first, and only, really, time that Henry ever sees Jack cry.
he (fake) comforts Jack, promising that Dee's gotta be somewhere around here. There's only so many places she can hide, after all. Jack's practically inconsolable, and the only thing that fills his mind while this is going on is that it's his fault, he should've been there, what if she's been kidnapped or hurt? or worse?
Dave tries his hardest to comfort Jack (he feels guilty, hiding the fact that he knows what happened to Dee and had some involvement in what happened to her), promising that they'll find Dee. all Jack can get out through the sobs is "Peter's gonna fucking kill me." because that was the last promise he made to Peter before he moved out; to protect her and keep her safe. and look how he fucked that up.
now, Peter and Caroline hadn't moved to Colorado yet (that's not until later :)), so Jack calls Peter to tell him to come down to the diner, because y'know. Dee's Missing.
Peter finally gets there with Caroline, and they do their best to get more information. Jack is basically fucking dissociating, hoping desperately that he's asleep, that this isn't real. that he'll wake back up at work and it'll be time to go pick Dee up from her party.
Peter decides, now that the police are here and they've exhausted all of their options, that he should take Jack home. the guy's stressed, tired, and is at his wit's end. Jack needs rest, and it's not like they can do much at this point. Henry encourages this, and basically says "yeah, you should go. we'll deal with things from here :)" (because Henry knows that the next stage of grief after denial is typically anger. he doesn't know How long it's going to take Jack to reach that stage, and he'd prefer not to deal with a pissed off Jack right now). Jack eventually agrees to leave with Peter, but...not before he feels a presence. and hears a voice saying "I'm here."
it's her. it has to be her. she's still here! they can still find her, they just have to look harder! Peter, who didn't see or feel anything, thinks that the stress was getting to Jack, and decides to keep dragging Jack back to the car to take him home.
(Henry saw her though. he knows damn well Jack wasn't hearing things.)

Ngl I'm kind of dillydallying around my own SDV fixation and i'd KILL to see what your brain is doing to this game like i for one would eat up dat stuff UP . . .
I love the way this is phrased; genuinely 😭💖 like im a force of nature tearing through any new interest like its made of wet tissue paper 💥💥💥
I thought about it some more and i will (eventually) make an sdv blog. Its going to be a mess having all my interests on one dashboard (im lazy and i dont want to sign in and out all the time for diff accounts lol) but i need sdv stuff in sight or ill explode. For now tho i will ramble about random hcs rattling around in my brain
- The valley is FULL of magic, but not alot of Magical Beings that utilize that magic. If the residents of pelican town knew more about magic, there would be alot more wizards than just. The Wizard.
- Everyone in pelican town has some kind of latent magic, or at the very least, an affinity or sensitivity to magic. I like to think that magic builds in very secluded corners of their world and the area including (and surrounding) pelican town is simply one of those places.
-(sorry, i am just obsessed with Places and Magic) I like the idea of your farmer being drawn to pelican town bc they have a bit of magic in them. The letter is just A Letter, but it is the desire to see this town that makes them leave their old life behind. I am obsessed w the idea that the magic in the farmer craves the valley bc it sees the valley as its home, and by extension, the farmer sees the valley as their home. The people of pelican town rarely leave bc the magic in them sees the valley as their home always. The biggest examples of this are Kent, Demetrius, Evelyn, Emily and Shane. The huge exceptions to this (still workin on it) are lewis and sebastian; lewis bc i see him as a normal, non-magical being trying to wrangle the weirdness of this town, and sebastian bc his feelings of isolation and not being understood propels him to crave the world outside of the valley. (That changes a bit if u befriend him/romance him)
-(shane is weird bc hes super depressed and lonely but his happiness comes from his new ‘ragtag family’ (his words) and his very Not Normal chickens. The animals of the valley love him bc he loves them and he becomes tied to the valley bc of it. Marnie has always loved the animals of the valley and some of the love they had for her definitely rubbed off onto shane, who very openly admits he loves the chickens 💙)
-I wasnt very fond of the idea of purple=magic but i think that was bc i often saw it as a way to tie-in the wizard and abigail. I am still trying to get through the friendships for everyone but rn it doesnt feel like theres any connection between them (and caroline). But. I do like the idea of odd, unnatural colors coming through bc of magic. Alex and Pierre having normal brown hair; Haley and Sam being true blondes. BUT. Shane and Jas having purple-ish hair. Emily and Caroline have blue toned hair. Even vincent have pinkish hair 🥺💖 (and dare i say….sebastian with purple/black hair like shane 👀…maybe he has more magic in him than hed like to believe). Abigail doesnt count bc from what ive seen, Caroline laments about her daughters dyed hair. “When she was younger it used to be chestnut brown” which…awww she took after her dad lol.
- LAST THING. This is not an hc i am just mad about this. I cannot believe the game doesnt allow u to befriend Marlon. What the fuck. What the fuck !!! I love him!!! I want to be friends w the chill monster slayer! Im a monster slayer too!!! Let me give him gifts !!! Fuck ! 😭😭😭💥💥💥💥 Also. I know how to write old man yaoi. They shouldve let me do a romance path for willy, clint and marlon. And the wizard i guess but someone already did that. Linus doesnt count bc hes ascended the need for human romance; hes one w nature (read. aroace). And we (linus and willy and the farmer) already co-raise leo so that counts for something i think 🤔

Another thing about antagonists in general is that they aren't always inherently bad! They're just in opposition of the protagonist! (Who isn't always good either!!) Enstars is rlly fun bcs it switches those roles around between characters and reducing a character to Just that story role is a rlly reductive way to look at the material
anon can i have your hand in marriage /j
this gets a little long... read more
YEAH! its all a matter of perspective; people tend to focus on only one perspective and forget that things aren't just as simple as this person evil this person good (in the case of enstars)
sorry everything is abt crazyb i only know bee stuff by heart 🥹butttt
honestly any story with crazy:B involved with other units (main story, night club, SS Sudden death) shows this. theyre the unit that goes against the system, that breaks the seemingly perfect but actually fucked up system. they do things wild and their own way, and are portrayed initially negatively (we are given other persoectives to see this through! like every other unit, 2wink, knights etc. so it makes sense that people initially go. yeah. these people are bad. )
but then we get it from their perspective. we learn that theres reason behind this madness, behind all the wild and antagonistic acts that they do. we learn that they're so, so human. they have their own problems, have ideals that they're getting realized in their way, not going with the flow. nothing is black and white, sure, sometimes they may do some things that people don't agree with, but ultimately there's always reason behind that;
sorry to make this about him but i've gotta. all the posts that limit rinne to just a gambling addict alcoholic with no respect for anything that would be awful just to be awful make me want to hit stuff with a rock. i think theres this one convo in main story that basically explains it so well, that one where niki and mayoi are talking. the one where niki says yeah? rinne-kun is awful and stuff at times but he's human, just like me and you. that line hit me so hard you dont understand
im like. convinced people that label rinne as only evil and scum like. difnt read mainstory 5 at all. a huge part of that mainstory was showing things from crazy:b's perspective, showing that rinne was a planner, that he planned for everything and now was shouldering all of it, ALL OF THE BLAME, saying that his unitmates had no part of it and was literally willing to LEAVE, leave behind his dream, leave behind everything so that his unitmates and hiiro and everyone else could live happily. IF YOU CAN READ THROUGH ALL OF THAT, READ THROUGH WINNER AND HAPPY END AND SEE LITERALLY HOW BROKEN RINNE IS ABOUT LEAVING BUT HES STILL DOING IT ANYWAYS BECAUSE HE LOVES EVERYONE!! BUT YOU STILL HAVE THE GALL TO SIMPLIFY HIM TO HAHA GAMBLER ALCOHOLIC MAN WHO WOULD STEAL MY WALLET AND BURN MY HOUSE DOWN i will hit you with a rock 💥🥰
it is okay to not like a character!!! it is not okay to limit them simply to aspects you find on a shallow level. better to not think about that character than at all. i am taking rinne amagi swaddling him in warm blankets and giving him hot cocoa i will defend his characterization with my god damn LIFE
sorry anon u didnt ask for this but yeah basically its all a matter of perspective and prople need to learn to respect that all of the characters at the end of the day are human and have their own nuances. be like me. dont have strong negative feelings except sopping wet /pos
