SPORTOURISM - Sumatera Barat banyak menyimpan tempat wisata eksotis yang tidak terhitung jumlahnya. idPeople belum tentu tahu setiap sudut Sumatera Barat terdapat surga tersembunyi. Entah itu pantainya, pulaunya, hutannya, air terjunnya atau kultur masyarakatnya yang masih terbilang unik.

Jam Gadang

Jam Gadang merupakan ikon Bukittinggi. Jam Gadang berarti jam besar yang memiliki tinggi 26 meter dan dibangun pada tahun 1826 sebagai hadiah dari Ratu Belanda kepada sekretaris kota, Rook Maker. Atapnya telah berubah tiga kali mencerminkan perubahan dalam sejarah kota itu sendiri. Pada masa Belanda, atapnya bulat dengan patung ayam jantan di atasnya. Saat ini atapnya  mencerminkan arsitektur rumah tradisional Minangkabau.

Satu hal yang unik dari jam ini adalah angka romawi IV di dalam jam, karena ditulis dengan 'IIII'. Jam Gadang terletak di dalam taman seluas 100 meter. Dekat jam adalah Pasar Atas, yang merupakan pusat perdagangan di Bukittinggi. Terdapat 4 jam dengan diameter masing-masing 80 cm pada Jam Gadang. Jam tersebut didatangkan langsung dari Rotterdam, Belanda melalui pelabuhan Teluk Bayur dan digerakkan secara mekanik oleh mesin yang hanya dibuat 2 unit di dunia, yaitu Jam Gadang itu sendiri dan Big Ben di London, Inggris.

Ngarai Sihanok

Ngarai Sianok adalah sebuah lembah curam (jurang) yang terletak di perbatasan kota Bukittinggi, di kecamatan IV Koto, Kabupaten Agam, Sumatera Barat. Lembah ini memanjang dan berkelok sebagai garis batas kota dari selatan ngarai Koto Gadang sampai ke nagari Sianok Anam Suku, dan berakhir di kecamatan Palupuh. Ngarai Sianok memiliki pemandangan yang sangat indah dan juga menjadi salah satu objek wisata andalan provinsi.

Ngarai Sianok yang dalam jurangnya sekitar 100 m ini, membentang sepanjang 15 km dengan lebar sekitar 200 m, dan merupakan bagian dari patahan yang memisahkan pulau Sumatera menjadi dua bagian memanjang (patahan Semangko). Patahan ini membentuk dinding yang curam, bahkan tegak lurus dan membentuk lembah yang hijau yang dialiri Batang Sianok (batang berarti sungai, dalam bahasa Minangkabau) yang airnya jernih. Di zaman kolonial Belanda, jurang ini disebut juga sebagai karbouwengat atau kerbau sanget, karena banyaknya kerbau liar yang hidup bebas di dasar ngarai ini.

Lobang Jepang

Lubang Jepang, merupakan peninggalan bangunan berupa gua bawah tanah yang digunakan bangsa Jepang untuk tempat pertahanan serdadu Jepang. Lubang Jepang ini didirikan pada masa Jepang di tahun 1942-1945. Pada saat Jepang menjajah bangsa Indonesia, pembangunan Lubang Jepang yang dilakukan dengan cara Romusa atau kerja paksa.

Lubang Jepang tersebut selain digunakan untuk pertahanan serdadu Jepang, disini juga digunakan untuk penyimpanan senjata serta amunisinya, bukan itu saja kegiatan seperti rapat para tentara Jepang dilakukan disini. Bangsa Jepang juga melakukan masak di Lubang Jepang ini. Disini juga digunakan bangsa Jepang untuk memenjarakan dan menyiksa tahanan perang.

Lembah Harau

Lembah Harau ini terletak dekat dengan kota Payahkumbuh, dan lembah ini diapit oleh dua bukit cadas yang terjal dengan ketinggian lebih kurang 150 meter. Bentuk topografi dari Lembah Harau berbukit dan bergelombang, sangat menyenangkan saat berada di sekitaran Lembah Harau karena masih mempunyai udara yang bersih dan pengunjung dapat melihat keindahan alam.

Sekitar Lembah Harau terdapat tebing granit yang terjal dan tingginya sekitar 80 – 300 meter. Beberapa keindahan alam yang dapat anda nikmati saat berada di Lembah Harau antara lain jurang, air terjun, tebing dan beberapa gua, selain itu terdapat juga cagar alam dan suaka margasatwa terdapat beberapa hewan lindung seperti Monyet Ekor Panjang, Siamang, Harimau Sumatera, Beruang, Tapir, Landak, Burung Kuau, dan yang lain.

Lembah Anai

Saat melewati jalur lintas Bukit Tinggi ke Padang maka akan melewati Lembah anai. Lembah Anai terletak di Nagari Singgalang Kecamatan X Koto persisnya di jalan raya Padang-Bukittinggi. Lembah Anai terkenal dengan objek wisata air terjunnya. Air terjun yang berketinggian sekitar 35 meter ini, merupakan bagian dari aliran Sungai Batang Lurah Dalam dari Gunung Singgalang yang menuju daerah patahan Anai.

Air terjun ini berada di bagian barat Cagar Alam Lembah Anai. Airnya sangat jernih mengalir menyusuri perbukitan menuju lereng dan mengalir terus melewati jalan yang berkelok-kelok dengan pemandangan yang indah. Di sebelah kanan dan kiri jalan anda dapat menyaksikan lembah dan bukit yang menghijau ditumbuhi aneka pohon. Di sepanjang jalan menuju Air Terjun Lembah Anai anda juga dapat menyaksikan monyet-monyet yang berkeliaran seakan-akan dengan senang hati menyambut kehadiran para wisatawan yang datang dari jauh.

CLEAR TOUGHENED LAMINATED GLASS

·     Toughened laminated glass is a combination of laminated glass and toughened glass. Laminated glass consists of two pieces of glass held together by an extremely tough PVB plastic interlayer. Whilst toughened glass is processed in order to create a product that is extremely durable and resistant to heat. RATTAN

•      Rattan is a relative to palm trees but differs greatly. Rattan is a slender stem needing structural support that snakes vine-like through and over vegetation instead of growing up like a tree. The solid wood stem has long internodes between leaves and grows much faster than other tropical woods.

•      Receiving strength from the vertical grain, rattan is usually steamed and bent into shapes needed for many furniture styles. Once dried, rattan permanently retains its shape. It also accepts paint and stain well, thus is available in many different colours.

ENGINEERED LUXURY VINYL PLANK (Flooring)

•      Looks way better than laminate; in fact many look very similar to hardwood floor and they are waterproof so it’s very easy to clean. They are much quieter, too. Other than that, they are softer as they have a cork underlayment. This provides some give in the floor and a bit of insulation as well.

FABRIC

•      Nylon Spandex ( Cover for a pool of polyester beads)

•      Nylon is strong, machine washable, wrinkle-resistant, and elastic, but it does not absorb well. It is often used to make satins, chiffons, tricots, and knits, as well as upholstery.

•      Spandex is outstandingly durable and strong, stretching up to three times its original length and withstanding thousands of washings.

•      Linen (for the tent)

•      Linen is a textile made from the fibres of the flax plant. Linen is laborious to manufacture, but the fibre is very strong, absorbent, and dries faster than cotton. Garments made of linen are valued for their exceptional coolness and freshness in hot and humid weather.

Study Visit: Cherie Hearts International Preschool

Introduction & System

Cherie Hearts Group International is a preschool centre that prides itself on its vast experience in the provision of quality & innovative early childhood education. Cherie Hearts offers a one-stop education service that grooms the Physical, Intellectual, Emotional, Social & Language (PIESL) development of the children so that parents can spend quality time with their child after office hours. They firmly believe in providing quality care for the kids.

They offer their service by providing care and lessons for infants until kindergarten kids.  Lessons are planned in progression over the various age levels from Playgroup 1 to Kindergarten 2. Their learning session is only until 12:30p.m. After that, they will use the remaining time before the children got picked up by their parents for nap time, playtime and other programs and activities.

Spaces & Material

From the entrance, everyone can see their big colourful playground, to attract the kids' attention and interest. Their office has a glass wall and door at the front side so they can watch the activities that are going on at the entrance area, the playground and the infants’ room from their office. Since it’s a 3-storey building, they’re fully using their private elevator to go up and down. 

They totally separate the infant’s room with their changing and feeding rooms from other spaces so they can have a more peaceful and quiet place for the infants (2 months to 17 months)

On the second floor, they have a ballet room, also works as the kids’ sleeping area, the kids’ safe space and their assembly area. Other than that, they also have rooms for Playgroup 1 and Playgroup 2 kids. While on the 3rd floor, they have the kids’ eating area, a small library and a Kindergarten kids’ room. 

Most of their furnitures are suitable for kids because of their sizes, shapes (mostly curvy) materials they are made from (example: plastic chairs and tables; soft). They also used non-toxic paints throughout the whole spaces on each floor. Even the playground is made from soft materials. This is important for the kids’ safety.
