One detail I've noticed is that Wukong's outfit is different before and after Tripitaka places the circlet on him (and Wukong was notably unwilling to be chained):

Which is distinctly different than every other iteration of this scene we've been shown:

Other retellings of this moment have Wukong kneeling in servitude...when the reality is he was kneeling after being subdued—continuing lmk's tradition of biased/false narratives (like what was done with the multiple explanations of the samadhi fire). I think it's interesting to see the ways in which Wukong's past was made easier to swallow as time went on (or if you were Azure and didn't want to believe that Wukong had been changed by his journey lol)

So this has been in my drafts for a minute.
Without a particular theme to narrow my search, I've just decided to pick the most recently updated fics in my bookmarks.
If you read one and enjoy it, be sure to leave a kudos and a nice comment for the author :)
Fics are complete, unless otherwise stated. As you can see, I love chaptered fics, civilian AUs, secret identities/dramatic irony, time/dimension travel... and I love happy endings.
Let Me Not Live Unseen by garnet_stars - WIP, dimension travel
If anyone found out who he was- a spare part from an alternate world- he’d be locked up in a lab for the rest of his miserable life- or sent to Arkham Asylum.
He has three keys to preventing this: avoid CPS, the Wayne family, and the strange bat-themed vigilantes that roam this Gotham's streets at night.
None of these are going particularly well. At all.
or: How Bruce Wayne accidentally adopted a teenage version of himself.
A Backstitch In Time by Megaerakles - series
Tim Drake time traveled his way out of the Batfamily. This is the aftermath of that decision.
the ones that stay the same by batsignal - WIP, probably will not update again soon, but I still highly recommend!
"I think - I think that's Jason as a teenager."
It says a lot about their lives that Damian only considers this for a moment before nodding. "Do you think it will be an improvement? He has not had a chance to go crazy yet, so perhaps if this is permanent -"
(The Cave receives a call from an unexpectedly young team member, and the family pulls together to try and fix things.)
something in the static by BoneRot19 - series, civilian Jason
Jason Todd's parents didn't die when he was a kid, Jason didn't steal Batman's tires (technically), Jason lives.
He's seventeen, and everything is going to hell.
He's seventeen, and everything might be okay.
the second worst thing to ever happen to those orphans by antebunny - amnesia, Tim-centric
The prisoner is calmer than Tim was expecting. He says that he is Tim's big brother.
He says that they didn't leave Tim to die.
bruce's villain origin story by InkpotSprite
Bruce gets turned into a cat. In a family of dectectives, it should be an easy enough problem to solve. It should.
Instead, Bruce is trapped in a small, fluffy body fueled by pure spite.
the rules of playing make believe by hoebiwan
Homeless!Reverse Robins squat in Wayne Manor.
cards on the table by wesslan
Tim's parents faked their deaths and fled the country years ago, but neglected to take him with them. He spent some time on the streets, and now at 16, he makes a living as a fortune teller, stalking and hustling the shit out of Gotham's elite by telling them eerily accurate fortunes based on the information he gathers about them.
His life is peculiar but he wouldn't change a thing. When he gets booked for the big Wayne Halloween party, however, he finds himself getting all tangled up with the Waynes, and the more fortunes he tells, the tighter the snare becomes.
or: Tim just wanted to scam Gotham's elite, not end up on the Batfamily's watchlist. But it seems they just won't leave him alone..
Crying, my little one, footsore and weary? by llamallamaduck - WIP, 30-something Jason dies and wakes up in The Batman (2022) verse.
Jason Todd dies and wakes up in a strange, new Gotham, populated by strange, new iterations of his family. It’s far from the worst thing that could have happened.
knocking on your door and begging like a victorian child for batman/fam fic recs
this is so impossible. I bookmark way too many fics without additional tags and it would take me like an hour to put together a list i was even a little bit happy with. so like. see you in a few hours i guess

Oh my goodness. This is it. My final post for my favorite Tang moments of season 3. There isn't a ton in this one since this is kind of just the last few things I couldn't fit on the previous posts, but I do have quite a bit to talk about regardless. So, without further ado, here is part 3 of my favorite Tang moments from my rewatch of season 3 - Embrace Your Destiny-Part 4: Destiny Fulfilled:
[pt 2]
Tumblr media
How hard do you think Tang was freaking out when he got to sit next to Nezha around the fire? I'll bet he was nerding out to the Nth degree.
Tumblr media
I've already made a post about this but I going to say it again because GOD THIS SHOT DRIVES ME CRAZY!!! Where's our man Tang in this shot?!!!! OH, WAIT...
Tumblr media
HE'S BEHIND THE F***ING FIRE!! This is the last group shot of the show and yet they hide Tang from it completely! WHY?! Idk why but I can't help but think that there is some significance in Tang being put behind the fire. I MEAN LOOK! IT'S PERFECTLY COVERING HIM IN THE SHAPE OF HIS CHARACTER!! Granted, this is something very subtle (and subtlety isn't exactly LMK's strong suit), but it really feels like this has to mean something, I just can't figure out what. Seriously, this has been bugging me since I first noticed this. Am I crazy here?
Tumblr media
I love this little moment! MK just casually steals food from Tang, and we all know that if there was one thing Tang wouldn't tolerate, it's his food getting taken. Yet, in this shot, the only thing he does is yell "Hey!" at MK. It shows how MK is comfortable enough to take food from a man whose whole shtick is being obsessed with food, and Tang isn't truly upset. It feels like yet another small family moment between the two of them.
It makes me so happy that Tang is the one to end the season. He is the first voice we hear in the show and it's nice that he is the last voice we hear at the end of this season. Clearly, this was intended to be a potential ending for the show, but it ended up continuing anyway. I sincerely hope that when the show does end, it ends with a voice-over from Tang as well. He is the storyteller of the show, after all.

I can believe I've gotten to the end of season 3 with these posts. I initially started my 'Favorite Tang Moments' collection based on a random screenshot I took when I paused the show in 'On the Run' during my rewatch. When I got to 'Amnesia Rules' I thought it would be fun to show off my favorite Tang moment from that episode, and after that, I just couldn't stop.
I've decided to go back and do this same thing with seasons 1 and 2. It's been a while since I've watched those seasons anyway, so why not share my favorite Tang moments while I'm at it? It'll be a bit until I start doing that, however, since I want to get some other stuff done before I go back to these posts. Don't worry though! I'll still post more Tang-related stuff. I have some thoughts and theories about this season I'd like to share, and I'll start posting those occasionally now that I'm done with the season.
Here are my other Favorite Tang Moments
