Fandom: Doctor Who Ships: Ninth Doctor/Rose Tyler Characters: Ninth Doctor, Rose Tyler, Mickey Smith, Sally Salter, Patrice Okereke, Mook Jayasundera Rating: General Series: Eight Nights of DoctorRose (link goes to ao3 page) Word Count: 1,432 Other Tags: Hanukkah, Holidays
Read on AO3
Summary: The Doctor doesn't do domestics. Rose gets him to come to her friend's Hanukkah celebration anyway.
NOTES: happy third night of doctorrose!! all rose's friends (sally, mook, patrice) are members of mickey's band in the rose novelization and feature in audio material (sally is mentioned in dw redacted and parallel universe mook and patrice are speaking characters in the dimension cannon audio titled "the last party on earth") so that's where i'm drawing from for that. i love the idea that rose and mickey have this friend group full of lgbt people 😌
full disclosure no one committed to writing tomorrow's fic (it's supposed to be tenrose and donna) so if we skip a day. shhhhh. i'm going to try to write something small though
“C’mon! It’ll be fun.” Rose was tugging at the Doctor’s arm, pulling him away from the TARDIS console. “Everyone’s dying to meet you.”
“Let ‘em,” the Doctor said, trying his absolute hardest to turn back to the console.
“Oh, don't be stupid,” Rose said. “You'll love them. Promise.”
The Doctor turned back to her. “Told you. Don't do domestics.”
Rose rolled her eyes. “I told you. This isn't domestics. It's just a holiday with my friends. Or don't you do friends?”
“I've got you,” the Doctor replied. “How many more do I need?”
Rose counted on her fingers. “At least five,” she said. “Not counting Mickey.”
“Oh, Mickey’s going to be there?”
“Oi, be nice.” Rose shoved at the Doctor. “It's just for an evening, and then you can go back to being all sulky in your box, all right?”
The Doctor lifted his hand to tangle his fingers with Rose’s, and Rose grinned. She’d gotten him.
“Fine,” he said. “Just the one night, though. I know how these holidays go.”
“Don’t worry,” Rose replied. “We’ve never done every night with Sally. Just the one. ‘Cause she was tired of celebrating Christmas.” She raised her eyebrows. “Which is something you and her will have in common!”
The Doctor glowered.
They showed up at Mickey’s flat half an hour late. As they approached, Rose rolled her eyes and said, “Some time machine you’ve got.”
“Oi, at least it’s the right year,” the Doctor protested.
“Yeah, but you would've landed us in the middle of the Thames if I hadn't been paying attention.” Rose banged on the door. “Oi, it's me! Open up!”
It was Patrice who opened the door. He grinned to see Rose.
“Well, if it isn't our own Rose Tyler!”
Before Rose could respond, she heard Sally’s voice from inside the flat, calling, “Is that Rose? Tell her to get in here so we can light the candles.”
“Coming,” Rose called. She stepped across the threshold, pulling the Doctor with her. They followed Patrice into the living room, where everyone was gathered around the menorah on the coffee table: Patrice dropped into a too-small armchair with Mook, and Sally was kneeling on the ground between the armchair and the sofa. Mickey was on the sofa. He moved over to make room for Rose and the Doctor to sit.
“About time you showed up,” he said to Rose.
Rose glanced at the Doctor. “That's what I said.”
“I do my best, all right?” The Doctor crossed his arms. “Anyway, we got here in the end.”
“And we're glad you did,” Sally said. “It's not a real No Hot Ashes Hanukkah without Rose Tyler.”
Rose laughed. “So let's get on with it, then.”
“Right. Rose, has your friend done this before?”
“Not the way we do it,” Rose said with a grin.
Everyone laughed.
Rose nudged the Doctor. “Actually, have you done this?”
He stared at her. “Rose, I'm nine hundred years old. I was at the original.”
Sally was looking at them curiously, but Rose just rolled her eyes. “No need to brag.” She nodded at Sally. “Go ahead. He’ll be fine.”
“Right, everybody,” Sally said, straightening up. “We're looking at three candles tonight. Sing along if you know the words.” She began to sing the first blessing. Rose remembered about half the words from previous years, and she filled them in where she could: mostly she liked hearing Sally’s voice mingling with the others’, all coming together in the prayer.
Everyone was quiet when the blessings ended, watching as Sally lit the candle in the center of the menorah and touched the flame to the first candle, the second, the third, each flickering to life in turn. With the candles lit, Sally sat back again and broke into song. Rose didn't remember any of this one, but to her surprise the Doctor did. He was singing along quietly, his low voice mixing with the others’. Rose tried not to stare. He had a nice voice, Rose realized— she wasn’t sure she’d really heard him sing before, but he sang like he did everything else, with a consistency bordering on gentle. (Of course, if she called him gentle to his face, she was sure he’d protest, but it was true. He was always gentle, when it counted.) Rose closed her eyes, listening to her friends’ voices, feeling the warmth that came with a room full of people singing in the candles’ glow.
“All right!” Patrice hooted, the second there was silence. “Now we can get the party started!” He leapt off the chair and went into the kitchen. Mook followed half a step behind, and the both of them came back a minute later, Mook with a plate full of latkes in one hand and a tub of sour cream in the other, Patrice with a bottle of cheap vodka and a handful of shot glasses. Rose groaned.
“Don’t start with that again,” she said. “Thought we learned from last year.”
“What happened last year?” the Doctor asked.
“Patrice made dreidel into a drinking game. Lots of fun, until Sally started dancing on the table and knocked over the menorah,” Mickey explained.
“And the rest of us were too drunk to do anything about it,” Rose added. “Would’ve burned down the flat, if Mook hadn’t smothered the fire with a blanket.”
“Was one of my favorite blankets, too,” Mickey said.
“Oh, come on,” Patrice said. “We’ll just make a rule.” He gestured towards the menorah. “Everyone stay off the table.”
“Or we could put the menorah somewhere else,” Sally added. “When I was a kid we always put it in the window. ‘Cause we’re supposed to broadcast the whole ‘miracle’ thing.”
“Pretty sure you’ve done your part just by having us over,” Mook pointed out.
“Does it count if we already knew about the miracle?” Patrice asked.
“I think it does,” Sally decided. “But the window’s better anyway.” She picked up the menorah, carefully balancing the candles, and moved it over to the windowsill. “All right,” she said, moving back towards the coffee table. “Now we can start the party.”
For all Rose had protested the alcohol, she had to admit the party was fun. Patrice did manage to convince everyone to play his drinking game, and Rose found herself losing badly, becoming tipsier and tipsier as the night went on. The Doctor seemed to be loosening up a bit, sitting on the floor next to Rose, laughing when she got particularly slap-happy and started tossing the dreidel in the air instead of spinning it.
“Try this,” he said, picking up the dreidel by its stem and twisting his fingers as he dropped it. It landed perfectly, still upright, and spun for at least another ten seconds before it dropped.
“Show-off,” Rose scoffed.
“No, really, try,” the Doctor said, passing the dreidel back to her.
“Thought it was my turn,” Mickey protested.
“You’ll have it in a minute,” Rose said. She held up the dreidel like the Doctor had, trying to mimic his motion as she dropped it. It fell over. Rose shrugged. “Oh, well. Worth a try.” She tossed the dreidel over to Mickey. “All yours.”
The Doctor, meanwhile, had taken off his leather jacket. Rose eyed his arms, still covered by the burgundy jumper— there was something so soft about him, with his defenses down like this. She couldn’t quite put words to how it made her feel. Instead of trying, she picked up the jacket and pulled it over her own shoulders, sticking her arms through the sleeves. She looked down at herself and giggled.
“Look, I’m the Doctor,” she laughed, sticking her hands in the pockets.
“You’re drunk, is what you are,” the Doctor said, brushing a hand across her hair.
Rose grinned, leaning into him. “I’m the Doctor,” she repeated, lowering her voice. “And I’ve got a time machine, and a sonic screwdriver, and I think I’m so impressive.”
“If you’re quite finished—”
Rose laughed. She watched as Patrice spun the dreidel, and then laughed again when it landed on shin and he had to push his last piece of gelt into the circle. He tipped a shot into his mouth, and then spread his arms and said, “Okay, who’s gonna invest in me?”
Mook rolled his eyes and tossed two pieces in front of him. “But that’s the last time,” he said.
“That’s all I need,” Patrice promised.
It was a few more rounds before Rose, too, was out of gelt— but instead of asking for “investments,” she just leaned against the Doctor, watching the others play. It was only another half hour before the game devolved into a lighthearted argument between Sally and Patrice, anyway, and then only fifteen minutes before Mook tugged at Patrice’s arm and said, “Getting a bit late, isn’t it?” Everyone said their goodbyes, and then Rose and the Doctor were walking back to the TARDIS, Rose still wearing the Doctor’s jacket.
“You had fun,” she teased, stumbling against him.
“You’re drunk,” he told her again.
“Yeah, and?” Rose giggled. “You still had fun. I saw you.”
He wrapped his arm around her waist, holding her up. “Nope,” he said. “It was domestic. I don’t do domestics.”
Rose just laughed harder, and the Doctor seemed to soften even more as he helped her into the TARDIS.
“All right,” he said, guiding her to the jumpseat. “Fine. I didn’t hate it.”
“Told you!” Rose crowed.
The Doctor gave her a look as he moved to the console. A flick of a lever and a press of a button later, he went back over to Rose, pulling her to her feet.
“All right, Rose Tyler,” he said. “Let’s get you to bed, shall we?”
Rose sighed against his jumper. “Okay,” she said. She let him lead her through the corridors to her room. When they got there, she turned, pulling him into a tight hug. “Thanks for coming with me,” she breathed. “Means a lot.”
“Anything for you,” the Doctor said, and it sounded like a joke, but for one exhilarating second, Rose let herself believe it.

Day 2: 'Family', using the template created by @benjiweird
This one's gonna take a bit more context lol. So I've already posted a past Demonverse story concept named Tearduct Pact, right? Welp. Before I made those characters, I already had a few ogs in that universe that I never got to drawing. These are some of em.
And this is the story about a family created by a demon.
Florencia was a girl born from a rich invester and an immigrant maid. She was taken in by her father, but neglected by everyone.
One day, for a sister of Florencia's birthday, the family went to watch a circus. Florencia, of course, stayed behind. The family never returned in one piece.
Florencia was alone. Ten years old, she knew she was in trouble, but she could do nothing. Servants left, distant family members would come only to dispute over assets in the office. Though her father made it so his children would get all his possessions, she was never brought up as a candidate. She didn't want money or possessions, she just wanted a home. But knowing the adults, they would rather kick her out the second they claimed the house, than have to keep her around.
At night, she noticed a voice from the bottom of her bed. Always soothing her. Always making jokes. Always promising it would be okay. If only she made a deal. She was scared to even look down, and would largely ignore it. But one particular night, her uncles weren't leaving. They were coming to a conclusion, and she knew. She needed to act.
She gave into the deal, and the figure showed itself. It promised it would only take what could be spared. All it needed to seal the deal was a body. Being a lower level demon, the bear would do for now.
With the ritual done and his soul bound to stuffing, something peculiar occured. She couldn't let go of the bear. She couldn't move her body at all.
The demon had possessed her. And, using her, 'she' moved to barge in to the office and demand they leave. The men laughed.
'She' walked over to father's desk and took out the pistol from his top drawer.
'She' wouldn't ask nicely again.
They moved closer, trying to take it away. She shot an uncle's fingers off. That finally brought them to their senses. She wasn't going to leave.
"That was your second warning. You may not believe it because my father never mentioned me, but I am a quick shot with 100% accuracy. I will kill you. This is my property and you are no longer welcome."
They were outraged. The nerve of this girl, claiming this house! 'She' looked at the only lawyer in the room, straight into his eyes.
"I know my father's will like the back of my hand. You ingrates will destroy his legacy given the chance. This is why he never mentions any of you. Now leave, or else, by law." 'She' smiles. "I can commit murder."
They left but promised they would cost more me back for revenge. The uncle with his fingers offed took his threats personally. Finally, with everyone gone, the demon let go.
Florencia fell to the floor. She couldn't believe what had transpired. She was...
She was glad she made the deal.
This wasn't over, he assured her.
She needed allies. Staff. To continue her father's business. He would make sure she would thrive, and she eagerly held his body close. She welcomed all his promises.
~~~
I will get more in general because I don't have everything else as specifically planned. What transpires is her, the next day, going to town and walking through the streets with her demon, guided by his intuition on who to take in as a servant. Five people are chosen.
Lewis, a man trained for years as a butler by a prestigious family, recently fired after being caught with the master of the house. They had been secret lovers, but when push comes to shove, he was abandoned, left to rot in poverty and alcoholism.
Marcy, a sweet girl who had a life ahead of her. She was betrothed at an early age, promised a life in the city, but an accident with her lover left her short a leg. The financial burden that would come from a wife that can't work was too much, and she too was left behind.
Clara, the old widow and her two children. Her husband was her lifeline for most of her life, but his passing meant she had to step up. Working in a restaurant with her oldest son, they would get paid, but not a fair share. The tipping point was when her second child came to work as well, only to be mistreated by the owner. They quit, and were readying to move.
But Florencia found them all and tooke then in.
Brought together by a young girl, these strangers weren't sure what to make of their situation. The girl was odd, and the legal battles brutal, but she never faltered, and was quick to reassure them of their security under her home. She was earnest and kind. They loved her immediately.
They grew into a proper family, taking care of the house and one another. This was everything Florencia ever wanted, and she had her demon to thank.
She never would let go of his hand. Day and night, she kept him close, talking to him, squeezing him, always thanking him for everything he gave her.
He was amused by how easy getting a child's adoration was, and would revel in her sincerity, but he always kept a wall around her words. She only liked him now, without her knowing what he was really taking from her. Of course, once he revealed the truth, her tune would change.
More time went on, and the staff already caught on to the demon's presence. While they didn't believe in him at first, they've been proven time and time again that something supernatural was indeed going on. Still, they never were scared by it.
A tipping point came in the form of Clara. For a minute, Florencia let go of her beloved bear to help Marcy plant flowers. He sat alone in the shade and watched, when Clara came and sat beside him. She talked, venting about how great the year had been. She thanked him for it, telling him she was afraid for Florencia at first. But with how happy the child has always been, she could not reason that he was a bad spirit. She was grateful he found her.
This didn't sit well with him.
That night, for the very first time, he felt guilt. He slipped out of the bear and sat in bed, only gazing at Florencia's face.
Remembering all her kind words, and her love and laughter and how she has helped so many people inside and outside the house. She was a beacon, shining to make everyone's lives brighter. And, because of him, she would come to die at an early age.
He cried. He tried. He couldn't take back the years he's consumed from her life. All used as building blocks for his power and gain.
He checked her palm, reading her lines, hoping he was wrong when he first read them. But his eye was trained well.
Three more years. At the age of fourteen, she would be snuffed forever.
And it was all because of him.
~~~~
Dis is all I have so far lolol. In case it's not as clear as I wanted it to be, this demon's love for her is strictly platonic. While my first concept of this story was romantic, as I am a sucker for em, the more I kept thinking it through, the more I prefered keeping their relationship as a little sister and an older brother. He's looked after her and comforted her, and she's willingly dependent on him it.
Also, like in Tearduct Pact, his form changes the more he feeds off her life. He becomes bigger, bulkier. He gets his wings. Im not very satisfied with his form in this comic, so I may change it as a whole too but. Ye lol, I haven't planned his demon form very well.
Das all i can type lol. I. Have. WORK TO DOOOO.

I'll state from the beginning that the images below display the sort of sweet synchronicity to which only love can give life:
MaAndPaShipping is the best ship, and here are five reasons why:
1. It Made James
Like the boy do yer? Ever felt the slightest tingle of warmth at the mention of his name?
Well get down on yer knees and give thanks to his mother and father for gifting him to the world!
Where would we be without their remarkable commitment? Could James have grown into the dandified dream boat of your desires if deprived of the safety provided by his parents?
Had they not brought him up, he'd be dead, The Dog of Flanders fantasy made reality. If miraculously he survived, foraging in the wild is not conducive to a foppish personality.
Is that to yer fancy? No? Then let's have a little respect. The luxury Ma and Pa gave enabled his macaroni tendencies to reach such heights.
Their love created him! How can it not be celebrated?
You lot would ship Jessie's parents but you can't, because she has no dad, and I don't suppose you'll ever assent to his obvious identity of Windy Miller, although 'Jessie Miller' has a wonderful ring to it, so what can be done?
Should a Pa Jess be conjured for the purpose, he still buggered off, didn't he? Where's the allure in a faithless git?
I can't comprehend the obsession with Ma Jess. As soon as here she's stiff, and what is there to remember but coercing her daughter into eating snow?
Hey, I named her. What more do you want from me?
I'd rather have the living, visible ancestors, if you don't mind.
Yeah, says the history fanatic.
Why not make the most of the chances offered, and follow a devoted couple whose love made a difference to your existence?
2. Canon!
There are many ships which I find repulsive for involving depravity, or absurd as the subjects haven't met, or don't inhabit the same fictional universe.
Video et taceo: I see and I say nothing.
Neither does anyone. Forcing decent folk in to incest, bestiality etc. is quite alright.
Perverted ideas are left alone, but woe betide a Rocketshipper, because that's offensive.
It may be the only original ship left standing, with proper evidence and sanctioned by Nintendo, but no, it's fair game for undermining. People pick at your arguments, quibble constantly and NEED to register their objections NOW. You MUST be made aware of opposition. You're not to be permitted your views the way those with twisted tastes are indulged.
Why, out of tens of thousands of combinations, does making Jessie and James an item provoke hostility?
The strength of negativity actually serves as validation, for why be so concerned if it's an impossible relationship?
However sick they are, I'm not anti any ship. I can't muster sufficient interest to do it, and if I scroll on, I forget. I certainly don't attack those responsible.
Anti-Shipping is inherently nihilistic for promoting loneliness. They aren't against Rocketshipping through wanting Jessie and James to be with someone else, as an alternative is not readily available, so the outcome of it is neither finding a companion.
MaAndPaShipping attracts no sourpuss silliness, for 'tis canon beyond question. There's nothing about being 'just friends' when married with a son.
How's the state of your O.T.P.? Not looking too clever I expect, and what's your contribution: wishing, and hoping, and thinking, and praying?
Cast it off! None of that longing is necessary in these quarters, as MaAndPaShipping is a fait accompli.
Hallelujah! Wallow in that Love!
Don't you yearn for at least one ship that all of us accept by default, to the extent these aristocrats are spoken of as a single unit?
Across the internet, Ma and Pa are bracketed as 'James's parents', never 'he' and 'she', always 'they', barely counting as distinct characters. That's how undeniable the love is between them. Sheer indifference has awarded it a blessing from everyone.
MWAH-HA-HA-HA-HA!!!
Of course, now I've drawn attention to it the moaning will start, but we all know a spoilsport when we see one.
If they had any legitimate complaints they ought to have mentioned 'em before this piece highlighted the marriage!
Except it won't have occurred to 'em previously, proving the eternal, indissoluble quality of MaAndPaShipping.
You get good value with this one.
Find a post referring to Ma and Pa as individuals and I'll have written it, for that's what you call ironic.
3. It's a Fine Rocketshipping Proxy
I was at primary school when Pokémon hit the West like the bright, bearded meteor it is, atomizing all competition for a child's attention.
I have shipped Jessie and James before I knew anyone else did it, unaware shipping was even a thing.
There are other pairs where I think: 'That seems to fit', but it's incomparable to what I feel for them.
It is part of me. I bleed it.
I have shipped it longer than most Tumblerries have dwelt upon the earth.
I used to believe, what with the hints and manga finale, that this resolution was inevitable, and all I had to do was wait.
Well I've been patient for two decades now, thus when I look at the modern incarnation, and realise it's no nearer to that goal, and instead is further away, waiting starts to wear a bit thin.
I resent the lack of appreciation shown to the fans by the cretins in charge, how any meagre shippy inclusion is done not with an interest in deepening bonds, but with the blatant cynicism of moulding us into performing monkeys dancing to their manipulative tune.
I dislike being treated like a sea lion, expected to clap me flippers at the wave of a fish, or as a panting dog begging at top table, where, because they're desperate to maintain the status quo, every scrap flung down from above now comes with an Anti-Ship kick in the teeth, just to be sure nothing progresses. Not whilst the franchise can still be milked for all it's worth.
I have lost faith Rocketshipping will happen. What passes for Pokémon today carries not the remotest indication of any intention on the so-called writers' part to finish it that way.
Even if it did, it's not my Team Rocket, it's those skeletal, gargoyle bastardisations. My Jessie and James never got the reward they deserved.
I'm somewhat in the market for a replacement. Beneath this loathsome carapace of acid and ice beats the tender heart of a true romantic, and it must have an outlet!
Shipping Ma and Pa provides a certain spurious relief, because it's as close as you can get to Jessie and James without it being them, both biologically as his parents, but they're so similar to the duo it counts as proof in itself.
Holy Matrimony! is prime Rocketshipping territory, not merely the balloon lift, but many slight additions are as important, like the haircuts matching.
Ma and Pa are therefore Jessie and James in the past, present and future:
The past for representing Jess 'n' Jamie gone Victorian, and we've all wondered how that'd turn out.
The present as it's there right now, absent of suffering the shameless whims of morons to get what you want. 'Tis yours to savour.
The future as a glimpse of Jessie and James once married with children, and they agree:
That's how they play it given the opportunity!
What, James in blue, for his and Pa's hair, and Jessie wearing purple, like Ma's, with a red shawl for her own, and Ma Jess's orange earrings to copy the beads?
• Money!
• Bun!
• 'Tache!
• Classy pad!
• Fancy gear!
• Pampered pet!
• Identical cups of Earl Grey!
4. Original Blend
Ma and Pa have only got two fans! We care more than the entire fandom has in twenty years!
Rocketshipping art is ten a penny, so why not display a pioneering spirit, sharpen up those pencils and be inspired?
Let your mind expand and marvel at the possibilities of these unchartered territories, and I'll reblog it if it's nice.
Pay attention to the condition of it being nice. I'm not putting up with any old toss.
Real Ma and Pa is what I want too, not those Sinnoh coffin-dodgers.
It's never been done! Every drawing breaks new ground!
I don't like fan fiction, but I wouldn't say 'no' to that either. Recall the 'nice' stipulation again.
Come on, be the first amongst your friends and get ship shape!
5. It Gives Us All Hope
Suppose your favourite amour one day became canon: you imagine that's the end of the matter?
Well it ain't.
Between Ash, Misty, Brock, Jessie, James, Gary and Tracey, there are three-and-a-half out of fourteen parents (Flint doesn't count as a complete man) and one out of twenty-eight grandparents, and that's not enough!
If the series drew to a close with your beloved couple apparently walking into the happily-ever-after, there's no guarantee it'll endure. In fact, the odds are they'll split up within a few years and leave another generation to fend for themselves or starve.
That's right, so don't presume the final episode is all you need to worry about. Can you rest easy knowing it'll go pear-shaped once the camera stops rolling?
It's futile soothing one's worries with:
Oh, but they know what it's like to be alone. They'd never inflict such stress on their children.
Oh really?
Look at that poor showing of grandparents. Either Pokémon has a system reminiscent of the sci-fi film Logan's Run, where everyone over thirty is vapourized, or these disappearing maters and paters were themselves victims of abandonment.
I bet when they settled down, they thought it'd be different for their kids, they'd make sure of it, but no, off they went down that same route of feckless self-indulgence, and that's being kind assuming they intended not to repeat history.
Depressing eh? What's the good in any of us surrendering to romance, real or otherwise, if love is but a mayfly of emotion, and all dreams are doomed to die?
Then Ma and Pa arrive, and suddenly the storm clouds part for a ray of heavenly light.
It's not only that they made the effort in what was probably an arranged marriage and have stayed together from youth, it's that they've stayed together when no one else has, which augments its value.
When separation is commonplace, sticking it out becomes rarer and rarer as any belief in the sanctity of wedlock erodes with every failure.
If they didn't bother, why should I? What's the use when it won't work?
Once that idea enters your head, it's over, and your gloom-laden attitude fulfils itself.
Society is collapsing about Ma and Pa's ears, but they persevere nevertheless, refusing to buckle under the turgid malaise engulfing the arrogant and weak.
It's bloody beautiful, man!
You may suggest an environment of supreme wealth erases normality, and to their class and time period divorce is still taboo, so they don't really have much of choice but to remain wedded.
Ah, but it's not as if they simply tolerate one another for appearances, or carried on for the sake of their son (which is more than anyone else did besides), not when he walked out on them.
They've been married longer than James has lived, so at least eighteen years (don't all squeal at once), and they're still blissfully contented!
They hold hands!
They use terms of endearment like 'dear' and 'my precious'!
They were made for one another!
They work as a team!
They want the same thing for James!
It could bring a stone angel to tears it's so beautiful!
See what success can be achieved when you try? When you endeavour to love the one you're with and make yourself worth loving in return?
Better that than chucking 'em at the first sign of trouble.
Ma and Pa is such an irrevocable union even the despair of losing their only child failed to tear 'em asunder, and that'd defeat many, but not this husband and wife.
Be grateful, for it means all is not in vain.
It doesn't have to be misery and pain: love can last despite the pressure of a wretched, hollow culture bent on self-destruction. Your ship might just succeed too.
God bless 'em for keeping the magic alive!
...
Why do I have the presentiment that I'm going to regret encouraging support?
