@shadowsingercassia, thank you so much for the tag. i loved doing this! 🫶🏻
1. How many words did you publish on AO3 in 2024?
none, actually! i don't have an account on ao3 and i think the website it's complicated for me.
2. How many fics have you completed this year?
15! which is literally all my fics since i only started posting since may.
3. How many in progress or ongoing fics did you start did year?
honestly, i don't even know. ongoing, i think it's about two or maybe three. on progress? that's the million dollar question, i have this problem where i start writing new things before even finishing the others that i already started. i have too many (5x) fics on my drafts.
4. What was your favorite thing you wrote?
without a doubt, never yours and only in my dreams. these fics are sooo different from each other, but i absolutely loved the process of writing them, i think it was when i felt the most motived.
5. What piece was your most experimental or different from your usual style?
i will have to say, tears in pages. it was the most challenging fic i ever wrote and it's different from the others. it was also the one where i had to force myself to stop, otherwise it would be a book and not a fic.
6. Did any fics surprise you - either while writing or their reception?
only in my dreams!!! in both ways, actually. when i started writing it that was not the original plot, the ideas just came to me while i was writing and the development that came after too. also, when i posted, i was shocked to see how many people liked it and requested for a part two. it was one of the best moments i had here.
7. Do you have a fic you wrote and loved that went under the radar? (This is your sign to reblog/repost it!)
yessss! tears in pages and echoes of the past, i loved writing them because of how different they are from all of my other works and it made me a little upset when i saw they didn't get the same attention as the others, especially tears in pages, i really loved that one.
8. Who is an artist that inspired you?
most of my time here is spend on fics, so, i don't really know many artists but i love @cafekitsune dividers. they're so good that i use them all for my fics and page. they're really amazing.
9. Who is an author that inspired you?
@daycourtofficial was the first page i found here. i literally read all her fics in one night. they're so good, the plot, the writing, truly amazing. before i start writing, i asked for some advices (anonymously at the time because i was too shy) and they helped me so much and gave the courage to post and it's one of the best decisions i ever made. so, thank you 🫶🏻.
@azsazz was the second page i found and i also read all of the fics in a space of hours. the amount of spam i must have given, my god. i loved the creativity and how she managed to explore so different ideas and worlds. i was so captivated by the majority of them, so good.
i'm always looking out for your new fics, and both of your pages are some of the ones i always come back to read and reread. 🥰
10. Who is a new author you discovered?
@itsswritten, absolutely amazing, i love all the fics, especially the wings universe. it's so magical.
@writingcroissant, i could read those fics over and over and over again, completely amazing.
11. Did you do any collaborations? How did i start?
i have not.
12. What accomplishments are you proudest of?
that i found my courage to post and share my ideas and writing. i was so nervous at the begin and now it's one of my favorites things to do. i just wish i had started sooner.
13. What did you learn about writing or creating this year?
that it can be a safe space, we can do it just for fun and enjoy it. we can share our own art and support the art of others as well.
14. What is your advice?
believe in yourself - it's the best advice i've been given.
15. What are your creative goals for 2025?
try to finish those fics i've already started without starting new ones (oops) and try to get them out of my drafts. also, improving my writing, i feel like it already had some improving but it's not quite where i want it yet.
no pressure tags: @daycourtofficial @azsazz @itsswritten and anyone else who wants to do this!
Answer and then tag three or more creators to keep the game going!
Thank you so much @velarisdusk for the tag! 🫶🏻
1. How many words did you publish on AO3 in 2024?
I don't have anything published on AO3 simply because I still don't know how to use it even though I do have an account. But here on tumblr, it's 92.878
2. How many fics did you complete this year?
49! I've never counted them before and never realized just how many they were omg
3. How many in progress or ongoing fics did you start this year?
Ongoing only Bound By Secrets. In progress apparently 10? I thought I had 3 WIPs. I completely forgot about the other 7 lol
4. What was your favorite thing you wrote?
UGH how do I choose one? A Helping Hand has a special place in my heart because it's the first fic I wrote and posted. Night and Days is one of my favorites because I love the banter between Azriel and reader, and I also have to mention Say My Name because omg I loved writing that one and I know I might be biased but I was giggling and kicking my feet while writing.
5. What piece was your most experimental or different from your usual style?
I'd say the first few things I wrote rather than one in particular for the simple reason that in Italian I tend to write very long sentences because it's normal, but in English sentences are usually shorter so it took a bit to get into that mindset. As for experimental, I'm trying to write a fic from two povs at the same time, sort of like an omniscient narrator. We'll see how it turns out.
6. Did any fics surprise you - either while writing or their reception?
Many fics surprise me while writing because I don't plan them out that much other than a few things I want to happen and then I see where the story leads me. As for reception, Bound by Secrets. I didn't expect so many people asking for a part 2! (I'll write it, I promise)
7. Do you have a fic you wrote and loved that went under the radar? (This is your sign to reblog/repost it!)
The Path To Healing and on a happier (and smutty) note Alcohol and Giggles. I cried writing the first one and laughed writing the second one.
8. Who is an artist that inspired you?
I love every single fanart by madschofield and elizianna.the.one!
9. Who is an author that inspired you?
@writingcroissant was the first author I found on here, the literal reason I created an account was to read her fics, and @illyrianbitch was the second. I love everything they write and it made me want to write again.
10. Who is a new author you discovered?
@shedoessoshedoes and @duskandcobalt! I'm going to read all of your fics so don't be surprised if you see me in your notifications for the next few weeks 🥰
11. Did you do any collaborations? How did it start
Nope, no collaborations.
12. What accomplishments are you proudest of?
Kinktober! I decided to do it two weeks before it started and didn't think I'd be able to write all 31 one fics but I did it!
13. What did you learn about writing or creating this year?
When I started posting, I kept opening tumblr every five minutes to see if there were any new notes/comments/etc. Now I don't do that anymore. I still care about people enjoying my content of course and any kind of feedback is always super appreciated, but I don't need to continuously check to know that my writing is valid and good even if I get only a few likes.
14. What is your advice?
I'm the wrong person to ask this to, but I guess write what you like and what you want to read. I know it's basic, but never before I realized just how true it is. Feedback and appreciation for your work is awesome, but you have to be the first one to like it or it's probably going to turn out bland if you push yourself to write something you don't like or are not interested in.
15. What are your creative goals for 2025?
Finish working on all those WIPs apparently lol. And I have an idea for a series that I want to work on as well.
No pressure of course, but if you'd like to @azrielslittleslut @anarchiii @shedoessoshedoes or anyone else who wants to do it!

Harry Potter has something overarchingly horrible and bad happen to him every school year, yeah? Some things are caused by cascading plot decisions for the overall series, of course, but other things are less effected.
That is to say, it's awfully lucky that the events of, let's say Prisoner of Azkaban, don't happen at the same time as the events of Chamber of Secrets. All it would have taken is the Weasleys winning that prize money to visit Egypt a year earlier! The Triwizard Tournament could've happened just about any year!
It takes a bit of finagling, but I figured out that it's entirely possible to combine the events of the first five books into one horribly chaotic mess for just one (1) school year. And I wrote a fic about it, titled Harry Potter and the Speedrun From Hell. It only has 25 views right now??? Which is so beyond discouraging and annoying from a fandom so large. Cringey to advertise it, I know, but I really enjoy writing it and I want people to see it, so. Here I am.

My introduction!
Hi! My name is Heather (they/them). I've been a lurker for some time, but I now realize what I've been writing has been whump all along, so.. hello!
My first encounters with whump were in Sunday school 😭😭 some of those kid's bible books were insanely whumpy for no reason at alI, and then it's only now I learn what the term actually is. I speak decent French (getting back into it after not using it for a few years), I intend to go to culinary school and become a professional chef, and my main fandoms include Overwatch, Baldur's Gate (not into it as much anymore, sadly), Epic: The Musical, and Ultrakill and FNAF (which I don't write much fic for).
This blog will never contain NSFW content! Kink blogs and antis please DNI!
What this blog will contain:
Whump (obviously)
My own writing (lots of drabbles, occasionally some of my more involved work ; aka my two big projects, a BBU story since that setting grabbed me by the brain as soon as I saw it for the first time, and various Overwatch characters getting whumped to hell and back --- I don't see enough talk about Cole Cassidy's big sad puppy dog eyes)
Lots and lots of reblogs since that's easier than actually writing 😅
Keep in mind that this isn't a NSFW blog and I won't be posting anything sexual/explicit, but I'm a fan of intense/graphic whump and things can get pretty dark. In those cases, there'll be a warning at the top of the post along with the content listings just to make sure everyone stays safe!
Some of my favorite tropes:
Living weapons!!
Gore (I'm not a fan of major character death, so I like it best when a healing factor is involved if it's very intense)
Parental caretakers
Transition/weight gain in recovery
Recovery in general, especially when difficult!
Lab whump!
Pet whump!
Chronic pain (totally not coping with this one)
Dehumanization!!
Vivisection!!
Panic attacks
Emotional distress of all kinds
Sickfics!!
If you send me any asks or requests or interact with my posts or say literally anything nice about me whatsoever I will give you my firstborn child
Some of my favorite whump blogs that inspired me to make a blog in the first place: @painonthebrain @whumpninja @defire @whumpwordsoftheday @sowhumpshaped
@sickfictropes @allthingswhumpyandangsty @writinglittlepains @whumpyourdamnpears --- sorry in advance if you didn't want to be mentioned! 😭
Btw --- check out my Widowmaker whump fic :)

January Creator of the Month: Jerzwriter
Each month, CFWC highlights one of our talented fanfic writers or artists, and this month’s creator of the month is CFWC's own @jerzwriter. The writer is selected at random. More info can be found on the navigation page.

Tumblr Blog Complete Masterlist
How do you want to be known on Tumblr?
Elsa
More below...
1- When did you start playing Choices? What was the first book you played?
It was sometime in 2017, and the first book I ever played was The Royal Romance, Book 1.
2- When and why did you join Choices fandom?
I joined a couple Facebook groups in 2019. I just wanted to discuss stories with others who were interested, as no one in my real life reads Choices. I didn't even know I was entering a fandom. lol I started reading fanfic on Tumblr the following year, but I found Tumblr intimidating, so I was mostly a silent reader. I didn’t start writing and contributing until May 2021, mostly because Open Heart was ending and I was in denial. 🙂
3- How did you pick your blog name?
It’s pretty boring, actually. I’m from NJ, and I write. I wanted it to be JerZwriter, so people would know it is Jer-ZEE-Writer, but that wasn’t doable, so it’s Jerzwriter, and most think it is Jerz-Writer. Oh, well!
4- Pull up the first and last posts in your archive, and tell us about them!
My first post was the first chapter of my Ethan x Casey x Tobias love triangle, Delaying the Inevitable (OH). It was my very first fanfic and I really didn't think I'd write anything beyond that. I was so green back then, not only to fanfic but to the fandom as well. I’m really glad that I was naive because I don’t think I would have had the courage to post it if I had, but I’m glad that I did.
My last post was Falling for You, a little drabble I wrote for Tobias x Casey (OH), and it featured a commission by the talented artist @weetlebeetle. It was a light, fun piece that took place early in Tobias and Casey's relationship, and it shows Tobias at his absolute simpiest. Lol
5- Do you write fanfiction, create fan art, or are you one of those really gifted people who do both?
Oh, how I wish I could draw, but I can't. So, I’m strictly a writer. I may try giving drawing a go again, but I don't expect much to come of it. lol
6- How long have you been creating for Choices and for any other fandoms?
Choices was the first fandom I ever wrote for, and I started in May of 2021. So, just over two and a half years. I have written a little bit for some other fandoms since that time, but I primarily write for Choices.
7- What is your favorite Choices book, and what is your favorite Choices book to create for?
Tough question. I write for Open Heart, Crimes of Passion, and Wake the Dead, and they are three of my favorite stories. I also loved Desire & Decorum, but I never wrote for it. Though, I’m planning a re-read, and you never know. 🙂
8- Share your first Choices fanfic or fan art that you posted with us. Do you still like it, or would you change it if you were creating it today?
It was the first chapter of Delaying the Inevitable. I was so green when I started that series that I’m sure there are things I would change, but I’m still very proud of it. That series will always have a special place in my heart. I’d like to revisit it one day to “clean it up”, it could use some condensing. But I would never change the storyline.
9- What is your favorite piece of fiction or art that you created?
This is such an unfair question. lol The Delaying the Inevitable Series definitely comes to mind, but I’m also very proud of my Eli Sipes prequel stories, A Mother’s Journal, Coming Up Blank, and The End of the World. But Tobias and Casey are my favorite pairing, and I simply love the world I created for them. And while my headcanon for them is my favorite, I cannot pick just one fic for them, and I'm not going to! lol But, I've also written a bunch of AUs for them, and Friends* is one of my favorites.
10- Do you have a fic/art that you didn’t expect to be well received, but it was? What about one you expected to do well but found it could use a little more love?
Yes, to both! The fandom is much smaller today, but back when we were more active, I learned you couldn't predict how a fic would be received. There are too many to name, but I will say whenever my smut does well (and quite a few of them have), I’m always astounded. lol
11- If you could write only angst, fluff, or smut for the rest of your writing life, which would it be and why?
This is such a difficult question because I believe the best stories incorporate a little of each, and, as a writer, exploring all three helps spur creativity. Also, my absolute favorite is angst with a happy ending, so there is definitely some fluff in there (and I'm never mad at a little smut being thrown in!) But if I were forced to choose, it would probably be angst. I think that's where I am strongest, and I just love raw emotion. I think that’s where character development really occurs. I have not written as much angst recently, and I miss it. Perhaps I need a change in 2024.
12 - Do you ever recognize yourself in any of your MCs or in your writing?
There are definitely parts of me in my MCs and OCs, but I do my best to prevent them from becoming self-inserts. I'm not as cool as any of them, that's for sure! lol That said, I do find inspiration for my fics in real life, so there is bound to be a little crossover. When using real-life inspiration, I try to change details so that the fiction is not a carbon copy of the real-life event. Normally, by the time I'm done, they're hardly recognizable.
13 - What element of writing/art do you struggle with most? Where do you feel you are strongest?
I struggle most with setting a scene. Dialogue is my strong suit, and that just flows for me. It flows so much that sometimes I forget to describe what's going on around the conversation. I think this is particularly easy to do in fanfiction because so much of the "world" has already been provided for us, so I recognize this more when I'm writing original works.
The other thing I struggle with? Brevity. I know I can go on, and on, and on. lol I've gotten much better at this, but there is still room for improvement.
14 - Do you have any neglected work you really want to finish?
(Elsa leaves the room, quietly crawls under her desk, and hides…) YES!!! Far, far too many, and no matter how much I share those posts that say, "You don't have to finish! If you're not feeling it, move on!" I don't believe it! lol I really want to make wrapping them up a priority in 2024. But I also know writing - particularly good writing - cannot be forced. So, it's a goal, but I'll only do it if I feel it’s right.
15 - If someone you know in real life (who isn’t involved in fandoms) asked to see your work, would you let them? If yes, what would you show them first?
It would depend on who asked. I’m not ashamed of writing fanfic at all, but if I believed the person would be judgemental, I wouldn't be willing to share. A few of my friends have read select pieces of my fanfic, and I’ve always received positive feedback from them. I wouldn’t be opposed to sharing more. What I'd share would depend greatly on the person asking.
16 - Are there any writers (published authors and/or fanfic writers) who influenced your writing or art? Are there any artists that influence you?
There are many published writers that I admire, but I don’t think they've influenced my writing here. Within the fandom, there are many writers who have inspired me in different ways. There is no way I can ever name them all. But I'd like to give a shout-out to some.
@jamespotterthefirst and @bex-la-get were among the first writers I read when I joined Tumblr. I found their passion for both canon and the worlds they created inspiring, especially as Open Heart was nearing its end and all of us addicts needed our fill. Reading their works helped keep the story alive for me and so many others, and it inspired me to try my hand at it as well. To my shock, they were both so encouraging and supportive of me when I arrived, and I'm forever grateful. Back then, I thought they were rockstars - and they are! But now, they're also friends. I wasn't familiar with @alwaysmychoices from the start, but when I came across their work, I was just blown away. Weekend with Dr. Ramsey will live rent-free in my head forever, and that headcanon about Charlie calling Ethan the night before she marries someone else. (I faint.) Ohhh, the delicious angst! The way she made me feel what Charlie felt was just mind-boggling, and it encouraged me to really dig into my character's emotions and bring them to life in a more meaningful way.
Early on, I read @utterlyinevitable, and the thing that impressed me the most was how Dom was willing to "write stories that “went "go there.” They tackled issues that others wouldn't touch. In their world, everything wasn’t perfect, including the characters themselves. I admired that vision and, frankly, bravery, and it definitely encouraged me to write what I wanted to and not what I felt was expected of me.
More recently, @mydemonsdrivealimo inspired me to explore parts of my MCs that I have not delved into in the past. In particular, Casey's bisexuality. It can be challenging to represent a bisexual character when they are in a straight-presenting relationship, and you risk alienating readers no matter what you do (looking at all readers here.) So it becomes easier to be lazy and ignore it. But that's a disservice to the character as much as it's a disservice to people living similar situations in real life... like I have many times. Through MJ's writing and our conversations, they've helped me become more aware and do a better job in this regard, and I'm not even sure if they know this - it may totally be news to them lol - but I'm eternally grateful. Now, I feel my girl Casey is free, and OMG, how I love our characters playing together in HC now!
Then there are @lilyoffandoms and @storyofmychoices, who bring joy to all that they touch. Who knew when Lily created a little drabble putting our characters in a new world together, it would end up being one of the brightest fandom spots of 2023? Who knew that so much more would stem from that one work? Seriously, it's been one of the highlights of my fandom experience this year, and it's helped me to find inspiration at times when I felt like it was lost. Thank you both - I am so lucky to have you both here!
There are so many more I could mention, but I'd still forget people and feel horrible, so I want to take the chance to thank every writer in the fandom for sharing their gifts with us. Each of you is an inspiration in your own way; each of you can give someone an idea, and you have no idea where that spark will lead. So, never stop sharing!
17- Which one of your stories would you most like to see as a movie/series?
Delaying the Inevitable, Friends*, All in the Past, and the WIP What’s Forever For. I also think some of my Ethan x Tobias works would have made for a good sitcom, and how I wish my Tobias x Casey friendship with Bryce x Jensen would be an epic sitcom. The world needs it! lol (Jensen belongs to @mydemonsdrivealimo.)
19- Do you write original fiction or create non-fandom art?
I do. Mostly shorter stories that will never see the light of day, but also some more substantive works... which will also never see the light of day! lol I wrote a novel-length political thriller some time ago. It would need a ton of work to bring it up to 2024, as the political landscape has changed so much. I also have two original WIPs I've been writing. One is an angsty story about a friendship that's loosely based on a childhood friend I lost to cancer a few years ago. The other is a polyamorous romance about two best friends who fall for the same person. It's really a beautiful, emotional story. If I like the end result, maybe I'll let it see the light of day... maybe. lol
20- What other hobbies do you have?
I enjoy theater, and I'm lucky enough to live in the best part of the world to partake in that. I go to a lot of Broadway, Off-Broadway, and local theater productions. I also love going to concerts - they’re like group therapy! Trust me, I got more out of seeing Noah Kahan and Hozier in 2023 than I did from the entirety of sessions with my therapist - and I loved my therapist. lol
Prior to 2020, I did a fair amount of traveling, and I hope to start doing a little more this year. But I have to admit, since the lockdown, I’ve become more of a homebody, and I like it, so we’ll see how that goes!
I used to be very involved with activism and advocacy for women’s, lgbtq+, and mental health issues. I still am, but in a different capacity than I was in the past. These issues require people fighting for them, and doing so has always been a huge part of who I am, but it can be draining, and burnout is real. I really reached the end of my rope. So, nowadays, I work as a volunteer for a couple local organizations that really mean a lot to me. I'm not involved in grassroots efforts or taking trips to talk to legislators as often, but I'm helping people on a smaller scale, and that still goes a long, long way.
22: BONUS - tell us anything you’d like (if you want to).
As most of you know, I’m one of the mods here at CFWC, so it was a little weird when my the wheel landed on my name. But, honestly, it’s happened before, and I've just spun again, even though I am eligible. But this time around, I decided to do it. This fandom really means a lot to me, and I wanted to share a little more about myself and my crazy pixelated people.
I'm truly grateful to everyone in the fandom who does their part to make this a place that many, like me, still see as a place they want to be. We're smaller, it's imperfect, it has plenty of problems, but I am choosing to focus on the good... because there is much more of that than there is bad. So, thank you to each of you... and I hope we all have a wonderful 2024! xo
PS... My header... I know Tobias wasn't technically an LI... which was truly criminal. So, that's what fandom is for, fixing what canon effed up. lol My favorite canon LI is Trystan Thorne (COP). I tried adding their picture to the header alongside Tobias, but it looked terrible, so here I am. :)
Thanks for taking the time to read this, and I can't wait to highlight more of you in 2024! :)

Fan Fic Writer Interview
What fandoms do you write in?
All my current stories are Good Omens on AO3! But I do a lot of crossovers, including Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, The Neverending Story, Casablanca, Discworld, and The Seventh Seal. These are all GO stories:
How many words have you published in 2024?
So far – 177,152, but I have enough written on other stories not yet on AO3 to proudly say I passed 200,000 words this year!
What is your greatest achievement this year?
I wrote and performed an hour long solo show for a local Fringe festival, telling a true personal story using 30 puppets I made and 8 magic tricks I performed. It was very stressful and very fulfilling. And I hope to continue to hone this show and take it on the road eventually!
What are your favourite top three fics you wrote this year?
1. Fowl Play – The GO / Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy crossover I wrote in honor of turning 42 this year. Crowley gets ab-DUCK-ted by the alien ducks in S1 and has a post S2 space adventure.
2. Here’s Looking at You, Angel – the Casablanca inspired post GO S2 story I wrote for the Silver Screen Bang, with amazingly lovely art from GingerJo and Sae
3. The Neverending Archive – The Neverending Story / GO crossover I wrote as my very first posted fanfic as my love letter to AO3 and the fandom.
What was your biggest pit of despair moment?
In this fandom – SO many this year, trying to ride the waves of new information day by day. Since then:
- I joined the We're On Our Own Side Fundraiser, to help bring awareness and raise money for the Take Back the Night Foundation. I’m currently finishing a piece for the fundraiser and another one for the zine. @ourownsidefund
- I plan to stay active in the fandom, support the fans, and specifically the Terry Pratchett estate for merch (www.discworld.com).
- (I also made a shadow puppet pumpkin with my feelings on S3.)
What have you learned?
What it means to be part of a fandom. I’ve always been a fan of all kinds of media. But this is my first time actually having fun with strangers on the internet (here’s a video about me learning Discord). Since I wrote that first fanfic in January, I’ve joined 15 different GO Discords, at least 7 FB GO groups, I have two GO blogs on Tumblr, (and just joined Bluesky), and did 7 different fanfics for four different bangs (The DIWS Silver Screen Bang, GO Theatre Bang, GO Spooky Bang, and Fairytale GO bang), and just finished three holiday exchanges (Dreamwidth, GO Reference Discord, and SVD FB Advent Calendar), and I've written monthly ficlets for SOSH Guess the Author and hosted my own round recently too! I’ve had the chance to work with so many amazing writers, artists, editors, readers, creators, and mods who provided so much support and encouragement to feed this delicious collective brain rot and have made so many new friends from around the world. I’ve grown as a writer, met huge deadlines, written more this year than any previous year of my life, and I’m better for it – and want to thank each and every one of you for helping me on that journey too.
What three fics have you read this year that you love?
This was the hardest one to answer. I've very literally read over a million words of fanfic this year and still have 70 tabs currently open of amazing stories from dear friends I'm still trying to read, and I'll have to do a long list later of all the ones I love! But to start with I want to share these three:
Naked and Afraid: Jingle Hell by @klikandtuna for the Sauntering Vaguely Downward Advent Calendar
Couples Therapy – Jurassic Park Edition by @rainwritings for the DIWS Silver Screen Bang
For another gives its ease by @andromeda4004 for the GOMM Reverse Bang
What ideas are percolating for next year?
I’m currently working on these stories:
- A GO 5+1 sickfic (15k written so far), posting in January
- A piece for the star themed GO On Our Own Side Zine
- An original sci-fi book
- A few new pieces for theatre
- Some sequels to previously written AO3 GO stories
- A couple of outside fandom stories, for Doctor Who, Our Flag Means Death, and Blucifer (a weird well known statue in Denver).
Thank you specifically to @curiouspupsicle for tagging me in this and for all your support too!
Please consider yourself tagged if you read this and want to play, just copy the questions and post! (And also tagging - @naturallyteal, @stillsurfacequietpond @phoen1xr0se, who are always great at tagging me in fun things too!)

Questionnaire~
Thank you for the tag, @drchenquill!
1. Is writing a hobby or way of life?
I always call it a hobby, but almost always prefixed with some form of, "greatest," "most important," or "favorite." I think way of life fits a helluva lot better. I've been writing since I can remember.
2. A journal full of writing notes or a clean, completed manuscript?
The journal one. I have like 900 I'm actively writing in at this very moment.
3. Who (or what) is your writing inspiration?
Cormac McCarthy. The love I have for my shitty characters. The agonizing unignorable need to put words on paper or screen.
4.Which is worse: someone you "idolize" reading your first draft or listening to you sing?
The singing one. I am not ashamed of my writing, but I have been taught to be ashamed of my singing lmfao. Which is weird and dumb because singing isn't something I go around telling people I can do decently - I don't tell people, "Oh, I sing," or, "I'm a singer." So, I have nothing to prove on that front, yet... I don't think I could make a peep of noise if someone said, "Sing me a song." Meanwhile, even when my writing's not at it's best, I'm like, "Yeah, I'm a writer. Here's some shit I wrote that isn't good. Sometimes I write good stuff, though."
5. Has writing from someone else's POV ever changed your own perspective?
I mean... in the literal sense, sure. A story looks different from the eyes of a character. By the same token, it helps me "understand" when people make choices I've not personally made. I think, for this reason, it's important to write about characters with different belief systems than we have - to write about them as sympathetic people with complex emotions. Not just to villainize or cathartically punish them, but to explore why people do the things they do and what life events might drive them in that direction. But cathartic character murder has its time and place, and who am I suggest what others write? Y'all do y'all.
6. Tumblr, AO3, LiveJournal, or FFN?
I have not used LiveJournal since I was a teen - is it still a thing people use??? That sounds nostalgic and fun. Not sure what FFN is; something to do with fanfiction? I only write original fiction, so that rules it out if so. AO3 is very cool, but the interface isn't my favorite. Also fanfic-heavy, so I never know if I've got a place there. Tumblr always freaked me right the fuck out, but the Writeblr community has proven to be my favorite writing community I've discovered online. And in a very short timespan, I might add!
7. AO3 wordcount, and are you satisfied with it?
I do not use AO3 but wordcounts can never be high enough 😎
8. What movie/book/fic gripped you irrevocably?
Probably too many to count. Little House on the Prairie A Separate Peace The Road Fight Club (recently rewatching this was humbling because it showed me how much of my writerly personality seems to be inspired by the way it rearranged my brain chemicals) Bullet Train (I fucken love this movie) Lawn Dogs Box of Moonlight Harold and Maude (book & movie) Pride and Prejudice (book & movie)
9. What’s the highest compliment you’ve ever been given, and have you been given it?
I've received some absolute banger compliments, and I don't want to dismiss any in favor of others. My favorite compliments are often ...questions? Just things that let me know people really did read, absorb, and are interested in things I wrote. Also, my love language is when people think about me of their own volition. So, any time people come to me apropos of nothing or say "this reminds me of you/your characters/your writing, I giggle and kick my feet and do a lil' happy dance.
10. What defines your writing style?
Gritty, casual. If it was art, it'd be the kind with the sketchlines still visible. Deep, silly. Visceral, I hope.
Taglist and blank template under the cut!

fun fact i’m asking about your jewellery please do share
bestie thank you for asking me!! (i know this is like a month old, it made me happy knowing it was here and i wanted to take time to answer lol)
i was thinking about this a lot yesterday as I wrote my first fic because i kept laughing, thinking "of course this is what I write about" given my own personal attachment to jewelry. in fact, the song I titled the fic after ("Mine" by Phoebe Ryan) kind of speaks to why I love jewelry so much.
the main point of it is that all my day-to-day jewelry is symbolic! in some ways, it started because I always loved the idea of tattoos, but I'm pretty indecisive to begin with (and my grandparents don't like tattoos, which doesn't mean I won't ever get a tattoo but there was never a tattoo I felt strongly about getting right this moment). I really liked the idea of having tangible reminders of things so I could look at my rings or bracelets or put my hand over my necklace and be reminded of whatever the jewelry was symbolizing. it also has some significance to how I've grown and changed over time.
the rest of the story + pictures/examples will be under the cut <3 (warning that my face might be in some lol I'm just using what's already on my camera roll)
🩵
I mostly have rings and necklaces, which I've been wearing since high school. My bracelets are kind of the key to this story because of the fact that I never wore bracelets until I got a specific bracelet in 2018, but after I got that one bracelet, I have never gone without them since.
Basically, I had a very hard goodbye in 2018, and I wanted to get a piece of jewelry to remind me of that person. I usually would go with a necklace, but I didn't want to have to choose between my new necklace and other symbolic necklaces I have. That's how I decided on a bracelet. Since I never wore any bracelets, I'd never have to choose. I now have 5 bracelets that I never take off (and it's fluctuated in the years since 2018, I think the most I've had at once that are constantly on my wrist is 8?). So it felt symbolic not only because of it being a bracelet, but because there are people that came into my life since then that are very important to me and have never known me without my bracelets, yet the person who is the reason I wear bracelets never knew me as someone who wore bracelets (and I think in my head it became more symbolic because it wasn't gradual, either). So. Here are a million pics! There are fandom ones at the end that are fun (I think)
bracelets
[left] the bracelet that started it all. it has gone through many iterations, mostly to the one on the right so that I could start adding more bracelets. [right] on the right there's also pearl and tanzanite (tanzanite is my favorite), a bracelet that says "hang in there" with a semicolon (an inside joke with someone important to me, and I used to be a gymnast so the irony of "hang in there" on a bar bracelet made me smile), and the butterfly one is from my younger sister.
[left] the colorful bracelet is from my best friend. it's rose gold, so I put it on my right hand and started getting more rose gold/mixed rose gold and gold jewelry. the North Star was part of a gift (I gave someone a matching one) and is an homage to If/Then: "you're my North Star, my map to grace." [middle] I have a ton of morse code jewelry now because then I could put names or phrases without people asking me about it. some phrases/names I have: Amber, Bernadette, I will if you will, everything changes, even now. the heart is a handwritten piece of jewelry. [right] this one shows my garden bracelet! The Language of Flowers is my favorite book, so I use my favorite flower dictionaries to choose flowers based on meaning, which is why I have a lot of flower jewelry. The bracelet has peony, snowdrop, poppy, daisy, and baby's breath.
[left] new bracelets are a cremation bracelet with some of my grandmother's ashes and one with stones representing the asexual pride flag. [right] I gave a matching "E" bracelet to a client a few years ago when we said goodbye and I read The Invisible String. The bottom is a variation of a morse code bracelet.
rings
[left] tanzanite with oak leaves! tanzanite is my favorite but can also be a december birthstone. one of the meanings of my focal child's name (a baby I became really close with when I did my case study for my minor) is strength, which is the meaning of oak leaves. [middle] my current therapist's name is Amber. [right] it's hard to tell, but the stone is pink! I got it when I graduated undergrad because it meant saying goodbye to the Pink Room (infant classroom where I worked).
fandom
[criminal minds] emily prentiss inspired earrings
[ant man & the wasp] hope van dyne inspired necklace
[wicked] wicked day last year: glinda bubble necklace, ring that reminds me of glinda's wand, watermelon tourmaline ring
the x-files [left] scully inspired cross necklace [middle] bee & disk that says "believe" (getting a sunflower one that I'll probably add or trade out with the bee to be more consistent with my other necklaces) [right] x pendant
[castle, left] rose (flowers in Beckett's wedding bouquet, 7x06; various meanings) and Beckett's badge number [the mentalist, right] orchid, date I joined tmsource
one I want to see if anyone can guess if you get this far! 😆
#thanks for asking hehe i spent way too long on this#about me#answered#luthqrs#WHY DOES THE FORMATTING BREAK WITH THE READ MORE I'M SORRY#oh it’s less annoying on mobile

Send Me An Angel
StolasXM!reader fic
Chapter 2 - Background Check
It was Sunday, and Zach excitedly stood at the entrance to Stolas’ foyer. The butler had let him in, and led him through the mansion to the backyard garden.
Stolas was waiting inside a gazebo with snacks and tea, the book Zach had gifted him lay on the table as well.
He looked around at all the plants, “Whoa… this is so beautiful… man, this would be a great backdrop for a soft romance scene.” He was thinking out loud to himself before sitting down at the table.
“Hm, a romantic tryst in the garden? Well, it certainly would be memorable.” He gave a polite smile, unsure if Zach was flirting, or just planning his next story.
Zach smiled at the book on the table before looking Stolas in the eyes, “So, what did you think of it?”
Stolas couldn't help but feel joy at Zach's enthusiasm, “It was quite lovely. You said it was part of a series, yes? I'm planning a trip to earth soon to collect the rest of the books. How many books are there?”
“For this series, it's 8! But the author has two other series as well if you like her writing style. Oh man, if you're going to earth, I should ask you to pick me up some Danmei novels as well, that's the name of the genre.” Zach then began to go off on a bit of a rant, and Stolas let him, glad to learn about a new genre of books to get into.
_-_-_-_-_-_-_-
Somehow the monolog on books turned into reminiscing about their life on earth. “Oh! While you're there, think you could snag me some Prickly Pear lemonade? I miss that stuff so much…” Zach sighed, their ears drooping a bit. His body language was so open with his emotions, like he had nothing to hide. It made Stolas curious what kind of life this sinner had… and what exactly landed them in hell in the first place?! What was his sin?
“Tell me more about your life? How did you end up in hell, if I may ask. I'm terribly curious.”
Zach paused a moment before looking thoughtful, “Oh that? Well… we'd have to go back to my childhood for the full story. Short version is I chose to be here, and landed in the hotel. Hurt a lot too…”
“You chose to be here? Why in all of creation would you do that?” Stolas raised an eyebrow.
Zach looked at him with a serious, focused gaze. “Because this is where you are.”
The look unnerved Stolas immensely. “Ah ha… I see…”
“Hm, I don't think I explained it right. Let me give the long version, it sounds less creepy that way.” He sighed and closed his eyes. “When I was a child, I had a slightly strange condition that caused me to have these… seizure-like spasms that were harmless, but I couldn't control them. I had one at school in third grade, and well, this was around the time the movie ‘the Exorcists’ was really popular, so every referred to me as ‘the demon kid’ after that. And in the movie they tried to ‘beat the demons’ out of the possessed person, soooo… you can guess how much of a nightmare that was everyday.” His ears were flat as he told the story, holding his own tail and petting the fur to soothe himself.
“Anyways, I loved reading, and didn't have many friends. So I kinda embraced the ‘weird demon kid’ nickname and started reading every book I could find on demons, and watched a lot of anime. Naruto was my favorite… oh, but yeah, you. I read about you in fourth grade, and I couldn't help but imagine, what if you were lonely too? I really wanted to be your friend, because then we could both not be lonely anymore. It was a dream I've had ever since then. I think I was 9 or 10 at that point? Either way, whenever I looked up at the stars, I'd think about you, and daydream about being your friend. It made me feel less lonely.”
His words touched Stolas’ heart, and it felt like it was breaking all over again. “Well you won't have to be alone anymore, my friend.” He reached out and placed a hand on top of the one Zach was using to pet his tail. Zach turned his hand over and held Stolas’ back.
“Thank you, neither do you…”
_-_-_-_-_-_-_-
Before Stolas could press further, the sound of the garden gate slamming open, then shut made Zach jump and turn to look at who was entering their sanctuary. Stolas looked over and smiled, “Octavia! Dear, I'm glad to have you back. How was your week with-”
She looked over and his words were cut off by the glare she gave. She then looked at Zach and sneered, “New boyfriend already? Thought you were still hung up on that imp. Now it's what, hellhounds?”
She always spoke like her mother for the first few minutes after getting back from spending a week under her influence. But she eventually acted more like herself after settling in.
Zach just smiled though, “A friend who happens to be a boy, yes. Nothing romantic or sexual.” He pulled his hand from Stolas’ grip. “Oh hey! That pin on your hat! That's from Linkin Park's minutes to midnight album!”
Her eyes widened in surprise, and her shoulders dropped to a more relaxed pose, “Yeah, how do you know them? They're a retro human band.”
“Oh yeah, I was alive when it first came out on cd. Listened to it all the time. I recommend their Meteora album. It's Daddy Issues the musical, and my favorite.”
She paused for a moment to just stare and take in what was said. “Huh… you know, this one isn't so bad, dad.” She smiled, then turned to walk into the house.
Zach turned back to see a complicated look on Stolas’ face. “Really? ‘Daddy Issues’?” He was pouting, Zach realized.
“What? It's their best album. Did I say something wrong?”
“Oh, just implying she and I have a strained relationship. That's all.”
Zach's ears drooped, “Oh, wait no, that wasn't- I… shit. I fucked up there, I didn't mean it like that. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to hurt you with my words. I mean it.”
Stolas sighed, “It's fine, you're not wrong… the divorce has put a strain on our relationship… but I'm trying my best.”
Zach smiled softly, ears still laying down, “Hey, the fact that you're trying automatically makes you better than most human dads. She may not recognize it right now… but she will appreciate it later.”
He scoffed, “Really? And I'm just supposed to take your word on that?”
“Well, I was a teenage girl once myself. So I kinda have an idea what she's going through.” Zach shrugged like it was a normal thing to say.
Stolas dropped his pout, “I'm sorry, you were what? But you're… I'm confused.”
Zach sighed, “I was hoping to just gloss over this. So, I was born a male soul in a female body, because the universe has an obnoxious sense of humor. Fortunately, death decided to correct its mistake, and now I have the correct body. All man bits intact and functional.” He went back to petting his own tail, this time with both hands. He was trying to act like everything was fine, but was worried how Stolas would react.
“Oh… I see. Well, regardless of that, please don't make comments like that about my relationship with my daughter again. I'll believe it was a mistake this time, but if I sense a pattern, I will take action.”
Zach nodded, ears perking back up. “Yeah! That's fine, totally understandable. It won't happen again.”
Stolas relaxed, “Good. Then why don't we go back to talking about the novel? I'd like our meeting to end on a positive note rather than a sour one.”

6 for just in general and 8 for rear 32 specifically for the bts asks pls thank youuuu!!
bts fic ask game
6. what do you need to write? is there anything special you need to do/have to help your creative flow? all of the planets in the solar system have to be aligned. the moon must be waxed to 70% gibbous. the frogs must be singing an operatic masterpiece nah like!! it's easiest to write when the writing can be jammed about, like if i can have a back and forth chat w someone about it it always feels easier and smoother. 9am-10am, 4pm-5pm, and 9pm onward are for whatever reason the times that writing flows easiest which is deeply inconvenient especially the 9pm one since i've got chronic fatigue and 9pm is my bedtime (👈old). i think also when i'm reading more (book-wise) writing tends to go easier? smoother? listening to audiobooks has been pretty helpful with this (shouts out tumblr user m glasscushion for putting me on em)
8. what inspired the title for this fic? is that usually how you choose titles? (rear 32) oh WELL so teeth are numbered 1 through 32, 1 being the upper right wisdom tooth, 32 being the lower right wisdom tooth. i did of course have teeth on the brain in the leadup to the fic posting since it was at the same time as me having my own extraction surgery so i was looking into all of these teeth numbers and it felt correct to title the fic after like, the last tooth so to speak? i couldn't tell you if dentists actually refer to it as 'rear' 32 or if it's just 32 but Just 32 is not as snappy of a title i feel lmao. the wip title was malocclusion which is just a term for teeth that aren't aligned properly. so basically the selection process was looking up Tooth Stuff and picking out cool and fun words until i landed on one that felt right! this is pretty much the usual title selection process. this isn't the fic you're asking after obviously but concolor for example was the brain process of 'milfy mark -> older woman -> cougars -> scientific name for cougars'. there were other bits of meaning for that one but that was the process there. i think i used to lean toward song lyrics more often for titles but have gotten pretty fond of like, shorter things?? i don't know i actually love titling a fic it's so fun to me 😭
final thought: my own rear 32 tooth was the one that was in the most crookedly and the Cavern of it has healed pretty weird. but that's fine
#asks#abt.fic#re: loving titling. can not wait to have the power to finish these chaptered fics. that's so many titles i can pick. YIPPEE!

Writer Interview Game
Thank you @morelikeravenbore for the tag! Everyone please check out her blog! She's a great writer with a beautiful MC!
When did you start writing? I was around 12/13 when I first wrote an actual little story. I loved doing it once for an assignment at school and from there on I kept writing. Mostly it was little love stories I made up, but when I was 15 I really got into Cinema Bizarre and wrote a (very bad, very cringey) chaptered story about them. I also wrote a pretty big Supernatural story in Dutch, but I never continued it after about 30 chapters. I stopped writing for a few years after that. I always loved reading fanfiction though and once I got into Kpop when I was 20, I started writing a little bit again. Mostly oneshots and all. After that I didn't write in over 8 years. Well, at one point I did try my hand on an orginal story, but I'm not even two chapters in so... Anyway, when HL came out I really got obsessed with it. And I started reading fanfiction about it. Before I knew it I was writing again and this time actually finished every story I started haha. Are there different themes or genres you enjoy reading than what you write? The only trope rather than genre that I enjoy reading, but haven't written (yet lol) is enemies-to-lovers. I absolutely love that trope, but only if it's done well. And I have not yet dared to try it because I feel like I wouldn't make it good. But one day I do really want to try writing it. Is there a writer you want to emulate or get compared to often? No. I'd rather have my own style and so far I haven't been compared to someone. Though I do admit that since I read most books in English, I've gotten some ideas of describing certain scenes or use certain wording in my writing. Can you tell me a bit about your writing space? Simple; on my bed, on my couch or sitting at my dinner table haha. I'll admit I've even wrote a bit at work lol. I don't really care for the space around me. All I need is my laptop and the inspiration/want to write and the words will come to me.
What's your most effective way to muster up a muse? Listening to music, reading or watching a movie. Basically seeing or hearing anything that tells a story. A lot of times it either brings me ideas on how to proceed or it creates a vague outline for me which I want to expand and write a oneshot. I have a few stories written that are heavily based on a song. But sometimes I want to progress my WIP and want something to happen, just that I don't know what. Music, video's or book can help with that. Are there any recurring themes in your writing? Do they surprise you? Absolutely. Heartbreak, fluffiness, happy family life. With nsfw fics it's the aftercare scene and there's almost always some form of trauma. It doesn't surprise me as those themes are the ones I love to write and feel comfortable writing. Happy family life and aftercare is something I enjoy writing a lot and fluff is something I write because I'm a huge empath and need some fluff (especially after writing a very angsty scene or oneshot) to heal me. Heartbreak can make for the most delicious and soulcrushing angst and trauma does that too. They also help with character development; your character goes through something terrible and you'll need to write them dealing with it and moving on (or not) from it in their own way. What is your reason for writing? Because I want to read something that I haven't seen before or is hard to find and then I decide, well I can just write it myself. For example: with HL, I stuck to reading fanfiction until I started shipping Ominis and Poppy together. There were hardly any fics out there and the very few that were, only had them as a minor side couple. So I decided I wanted to write something with them, where they develop a friendship that turns into a relationship overtime. Very slowburn. At the same time I wanted people to read it or at least get interested and since I was sure just writing them as a main couple might not work (and honestly, I do love me some good SebastianxMC), I decided to make the main characters SebastianxReader (so whoever read it could insert either themselves, their own MC or someone they made up on the spot) with Ominis and Poppy as a pretty big side couple. So yeah, my main reason for writing is because I always got ideas in my head that I would love to read, but is hard to find. Thus I try writing it myself. Is their any specific comment or type of comment you find particularly motivating? Honestly, any kind of positive comment is already motivating to me. But whenever someone takes their time to give a bit more details to their thoughts about my writing, it is extremely motivating for me to write more. It always helps to know someone likes it enough to leave a long comment and with giving their thoughts, I can get a bit of perspective on what my readers like/do not like. How do you want to be thought about by your readers? Good question. I don't necessarily want them to have a particular opinion about me, but I'd be flattered if, whenever they see my name besides a title, they think along the lines of: Oh I do like her stories. I dunno. It's always nice to know people enjoy your work, but as far as having an opinion about me, it doesn't matter really. What do you feel is your greatest strength as a writer? I think understanding the characters I write and sticking to that while I develop their growth in my stories. How do you feel about your own writing? Not gonna lie, I always thought it was trash, but ever since I started writing for HL I actually like it now. Still, the first few chapters of my trilogy are a bit... icky to me, but overall I think I do a decent job at writing and it's pretty good. Most importantly; I love it!
That was fun! Thank you for whoever made this :D NP tags: @writingannyred @polarisgreenley @zetadraconis11 @sallowslove @mspegasus17

Writing meme about me!
@lusthurts tagged me over two weeks ago but I have been so busy with work I haven't had a chance to answer it.
How did you get into writing fanfiction?
Unofficially I just liked messing around with the characters in the media I consumed, I've always had a habit of pausing in my watching or reading to daydream and theorize about what could happen, or maybe just what my brain wished would happen and so at a very young age I started writing those ideas down.
At some point when I was twelve or so I discovered FF.Net through the Supernatural fandom, I don't remember exactly how. But that was when I went from writing Stargate and Inuyasha fanfiction purely for myself and started writing and publishing Supernatural fanfiction. I really love the weekly 100 word drabble challenges that fandom had back in the day and most of my oldest surviving fic are for those prompts as most of my other stuff I've deleted over the years.
2. How many fandoms have you written in?
So Glee is obviously my most prolific, and then Supernatural would be just behind that. In the past I've also written for Stargate, Inuyasha, Naruto, Buffy, Harry Potter, The Vampire Diaries, Doctor Who, and Takin' Over the Asylum, but most of those have been deleted and lost over the years. I do have unpublished WIPs for Stranger Things, OMGcheckplease, The Real O'Neals, Captive Prince, Magnus Archives, Hatchetfield, and probably more, no idea if any of those will actually see the light of day though.
3. How many years have you been writing fanfiction?
I've been publishing it for about fifteen years but writing it for probably twenty which is an insane number to type out. Like I know I've been writing for pretty much my whole life but seeing it in words puts it in a new perspective. But yeah, my earliest posted work is from 2009.
4. Do you read or write more fanfiction?
It depends on the era? Currently I've been writing more fic than reading, purely because I've been focused on reading so many regular books at the moment (my roommate and I are in a race to read the most books this year, and I'm currently winning, but the rules are that I can't count anything that isn't already on StoryGraph and most of the fics I read are not).
5. What is one way you've improved as a writer?
I think my ability to write banter has improved a lot. I've been writing for so long that everything has improved, but the most noticeable to me is my dialogue, especially when it's witty. I used to struggle so hard with that even though I loved good banter in stories. It's part of why I used to not write Kurtbastian, because banter is so integral to their relationship, but I've been getting more and more comfortable with it .
6. What's the weirdest topic you researched for a writing project?
I'm going to ditto Lusthurts Ohio geography, which is especially frustrating considering how much Glee itself ignores Ohio geography so there's this line of making it not sound completely stupid while also remaining true to Glee's own absolute disregard for it. Also songs and movies that came out in 2012 specifically since I write a lot of stuff set in season 4 of Glee and I try to keep the media I reference contemporary.
7. What's your favorite type of comment to receive on your work?
I love all comments! But if I had to chose my favorites it's probably anytime that I drop subtle hints or foreshadow something and people pick it up and point it out, either on the original read through or during a reread. I also love when people point out symbolism I didn't intend or realize I was making.
8. What's the most fringe trope/topic you write about?
Idk I kinda write a lot of infidelity and toxic relationship stuff. Seblaine is the main ship I write for nowadays, and the nature of their relationship lends itself to a lot of infidelity in their process of getting together. I also just love writing angst, so even when I'm writing established relationships, they end up being sort of toxic throughout especially given the traits of both characters. I just find it more fun and probable to write a slightly toxic relationship than a 100% healthy one.
(I did not intend to just leave Lusthurts answer for this one, but also, ditto. I love the messy toxic relationships, they've always intrigued me and they're so fun to sink your teeth into. I also love writing a lot of polyamory, which idk how fringe it is nowadays but I've been trying to breakaway from the throuple mold and branch out into more interesting, complex, and realistic polycules)
9. What is the hardest type of story for you to write?
I tend to stick very much to the emotional side of things, so stories that get too physical or actiony are the ones I struggle with. Since I've been reading more I've been getting better but it's still not great.
10. What is the easiest type?
Hurt no comfort, lol. Like I do enjoy writing the comfort but sometimes my brain gets hung up on it not being realistic, things getting better too quickly, things like that. But it gets less anxious about just having the angst, even with no happy ending.
11. Where do you do your writing? What platform? When?
I tend to write on my couch, I do like going to the library down the road when I really want to focus, but usually I just write in my living room. I usually just write to google drive, I'm interested in alternatives but I've been using google since jr high so I'm just very used to it and it has so many years of documents. And I just write whenever, but usually in the evening after work, but really whenever I have time.
12. What is something you've been too nervous/intimidated to write, but would love to write one day?
I love ensemble fics and all the distinct personalities of the different characters and I would love to write one that focuses on many characters one day. I'm kind of trying that with my Season 2 AU but that still mostly focuses on Kurt, Blaine, Sebastian, and Sam, which is exactly who most of my fics focus on, so I'm not sure if it will fit full ensemble status by the time I'm done.
13. What made you choose your username?
So Daisy is an old nickname of Darren Criss' (he's talked about it in a few interviews, how he was studying abroad in Italy and when you say his initials in an Italian accent it sounds like Daisy) and when he was in Hedwig and the Angry Inch the username DarrenisHedwig was already taken but I thought DaisyisHedwig would be fun and I've been it ever since.
Oh boy, I'm going to tag @kurtsascot, @calsvoid, @fallevs, @cryscendo
@bitbybitwrites, @annepi-blog, @sperrywink, and @backslashdelta

20 Questions for 20 Writers (where did the other 10 questions go?)
thank you for the tag @bossboudicca!
Is writing a hobby or way of life?
hmm a bit of both! I've been writing since I was a wee one and I would love to be able to write for a living but that is not currently in the cards
2. A journal full of writing notes or a clean, completed manuscript?
my shit is messy af, I've got some voice memos to myself, my notes app is full of bits of dialogue and ideas. but once I'm finalized something ill copy and paste to new documents and make that look nice and neat
3. Who (or what) is your writing inspiration?
every aspect of my life has inspired me one way or another, I could see a leaf blowing by and it'll give me an idea. however they are not always good ideas!
4. Which is worse: someone you "idolize" reading your first draft or listening to you sing?
oh god, both are rough but probably someone reading my first draft because I will do karaoke with no shame if I get one or two drinks in me. having someone read my writing is tougher
5. Has writing from someone else's POV ever changed your own perspective?
sometimes! it mostly pushes me to study a character and see how they would think about something/react and how that differs from my own thoughts and reactions
6. Tumblr, AO3, LiveJournal, or FFN?
my ass used to live on FFN but AO3 is my preferred now
7. AO3 wordcount, and are you satisfied with it?
29930 and I wish it was higher! I've been struggling with writers block recently
8. What movie/book/fic gripped you irrevocably?
fuck dude so many. any HBO War (aside from MOTA) show has me in an absolute chokehold but one pic that really really stood out to me is a Captain America/stucky fic called Dreamers With Empty Hands by girlbookwrm on AO3. Highly recommend it.
9. What's the highest compliment you could ever be given, and have you been given it?
I have been lucky enough to receive some wonderful comments on my fics, I really couldn't ask for more! I do like when I am able to invoke some emotion in someone, from a funny line or a sad one!
10. What defines your writing style?
semi colons up the wazoo my guy. and references to religion
no pressure tags! @pfctipper @cinnamonrollsledge @lamialamia @blood-mocha-latte and anyone else who wants to do it!

1, 2, 7, 8, 24, 25, 27 for fic writing asks :) Hope you’re feeling better!
Thanks!
1.the last sentence you wrote
Well, I posted the last fic I worked on so here's the last sentence(s) from my Fallen Love Chapter 3 doc:
Her head spun from just the couple inches her heels added to her height. She’d bet on practicality for years but combat boots would only take her back to the battlefield. They simply didn’t make sense without the threat of war hanging over her head.
(I was going to play by the rules but the angst doesn't really hit with just the last sentence so...)
2. a character whose POV you’re currently exploring
Oh, my god, I've got nothing for this. I have been sick for over a week. Before that I was barely working on that Erendor x Samara fic I wanted to finish. Tbh my head has been way more into House of the Dragon (heaven knows why when the writers are hacks) than any of my own stuff. Like, I am hyperfixating in the most annoying way where I'm not coming up with fic, I'm not really analyzing the text that much, I'm just rotating the same thought in my head like it's a microwave that doesn't work and I'm hoping the heat generated by the rotating motion itself will be enough to cook my fucking thought.
But yeah, if we're talking about actual writing, then I'd have to go with Griffin since Fallen Love is all from her PoV (and so are all of my other recent Griffin x Valtor ideas, which are all I have). She's, uh... She's having a bad time and I don't know how to make it better. The good news is that I don't have to yet but at some point she's going to have to figure out what to do with her life now that she's not at war every day and I. Don't. Know what I'll do then. For now she's having Realizations TM but those are def spoilers.
7. your preferred writing fonts
I don't have any. Unless the one that's already set isn't an abomination, I just don't care. I'm using Libre Office and my default is Liberation Serif so I'm just using that.
8. if you had to write a sequel to a fic, you’d write one for…
I suppose that fics that already have sequels planned don't count? I have several for which I'd write an AU but a sequel? Let's see.
Yeah, nope, I'll have to pick something from those that I've already thought of continuing.
Originally, Imitation Play was supposed to have a sequel but I decided that I don't have a clear enough idea for it so I've left it alone. I already have enough other stuff to work on but if I had to write a sequel to something I've already finished, I'd look at that one and try to figure out how to continue it.
24. how do you recharge when you’re not feeling creative?
Usually watch movies. Way more rarely read a book or fanfic. But if I'm looking to spark thoughts, then listen to a playlist or even make a moodboard (which I haven't really done recently). Recently I found out that spending time and having fun with your family can really charge you like nothing else. Huh, who would've thunk?
25. besides writing, what are your other hobbies?
There's watching movies and reading books. DIY. Drawing. Playing various games (sudoku, mahjong, jenga, crossword puzzles, chess occasionally). A couple more that I'd feel like a fraud if I list because it's really been years since I've done them.
27. your favorite part of the writing process
It's what would fall under outlining. When I'm making sense of the story and adding ideas, tying plot points together and just weaving it all into one. I like seeing how it comes together into a coherent story and since it's not super serious at that point, I don't have to stress out that much. I'm just throwing pasta at the wall and seeing what sticks. And then arranging the stuff that sticks into a coherent, beautiful pattern. I like that!

Twenty Questions for Fic Writers
Thank you for the tag @ladyaldhelm :)
1. how many works do you have on AO3? None - BUT, hope to have one on there in August or sooner :) I used to be on fanfiction.net - 9 stories still posted there.
2. what's your total AO3 word count? N/A - Although my longest story on FF is ~ 57.1k words. And I have a feeling I am going to surpass that with my current fic...
3. what fandoms do you write for? The Last Kingdom currently, may return to Twilight, previously Power Rangers, considered a few others
4. top five fics by kudos: N/A for A03, but Finding Love on FF has 147 favorites and 172 reviews.....
5. do you respond to comments? I likely will...On Fanfic, I tried to interact with people who PMed or Commented as much as possible!
6. what is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? I don't think I ever had something have an angsty ending? Just an angsty beginning/middle? Especially since I wrote my published fics at age 14/15? But I hardcore am into dragging my muses through the mud right now.
7. what's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Probably Finding Love lol. It's a very wholesome fic.
8. do you get hate on fics? I did on the first ever fic I published. The worst part was that it was on stuff that I thought you were supposed to do based on reading tons of other fics. It shook me to my core since I was FOURTEEN. Sad to say - the fic is now gone from fanfiction and my computer and it's my biggest regret :(
9. do you write smut? Yes - But I've actually never published it now that I think about it! And have not written as much as my brain is convinced?! Oh wait that was my rpg days thats why.
10. craziest crossover? No crossovers. Just really into AUs.
11. have you ever had a fic stolen? Not to my knowledge!
12. have you ever had a fic translated? Either someone wanted to translate Finding Love or get it bound into real books...I cannot remember LOL.
13. have you ever co-written a fic before? Nah.
14. all time favorite ship? No pls don't make me choose :( I'm going to say Rosalie and Emmett from Twilight because they were the first ones to inspire me to write my own fic.
15. what's a wip you want to finish but doubt you ever will? Honestly? I have SO many Stiorra and Sigtryggr fics that are 60% plotted, but I don't know if I'll ever get to writing all of them? Unless I keep my fixation for the next 10+ years, especially with wanting to write my own stuff. Plus, maybe Finding Love the Sequel...I made a lot of sad people when I did not finish it.
16. what are your writing strengths? Dialogue. And maybe action?
17. what are your writing weaknesses? Show don't tell and being ~poetic~ and introspection? I struggle with 3rd person.
18. thoughts on dialogue in another language? I love it! And I want to incorporate it into a few of my fic ideas. However, I am not sure HOW I want to do it yet - i.e. Google translate OR just "They spoke in xyz language". When done well, it can be a great plot device!
19. first fandom you wrote in? Twilight!
20. favorite fic you've written? Currently the one I am writing.
No pressure tags: @azriona and anyone else on here that's a writer!

Can i ask the following questions from the Fan Fic Writer Asks?
2. Do you read/reread your own fics?
6. Are there any fics from others you reread all the time?
8. What project(s) are you currently working on?
22. Do you know how your fic will end before you start writing?
U don’t have to reply if u don’t want to ❤️
Of course you can, darling 💜
2. Do you read/reread your own fics?
I read a fic at least once, often two to three times before I post it (sometimes more, depending on how many issues I've been having with it). The same with chapters in a longer fic. I rarely read the entire fic undisturbed from start to finish, though, since I usually don't have the time. I just trust that the overarching pacing and such works and instead focus on it chapter by chapter.
As for rereading, I do it sometimes but not particularly often. Especially if they're long. I know for a fact that I've read Who Holds the Devil fewer times than many of my readers 🤣
That said, I often go back and reread specific parts or skim over bits I remember or want to reread. But, just like when I first post them, it's rare for me to reread entire fics from start to finish, unless they're fairly short or I'm struck by a severe urge to do so.
It's not that I don't want to reread my fics but, more often than not, I don't have the time. I often feel like I should use my time writing instead of reading. But I do enjoy it the times I succumb to the urge and, quite often, I'm pleasantly surprised by how good they are. It's easy to forget, unfortunately, when I'm just chasing after the next fic or the next chapter. So I kind of wish I could do it more often?
But yeah. Sometimes.
6. Are there any fics from others you reread all the time?
Unfortunately, no. I tend to read fics once, maybe twice, depending on how much I like them. Usually because I remember them relatively well even after just one read, so rereading is rarely necessary. Unless, of course, I want to experience the emotions again. Which has happened several times over the years, but there are very few fics I've read more than twice.
It's the same with books, in all honesty. There are very few I've read more than twice, even out of the ones I love. I'm just not the kind of person who rereads things over and over, I guess? I'm more interested in new experiences so I tend to try and find new fics or books to read instead. I find that more exciting since I can easily get bored if I know what's coming which, unsurprisingly, happens a lot when I reread things.
I kind of wish I was better at it, though, because I think there are so many awesome authors out there who deserve the attention.
8. What project(s) are you currently working on?
Copypasted answer from a previous ask where I answered this:
While I have a lot of WIPs, I would say that I'm currently working on three projects with a bit more vigour. And those are:
Who Holds the Devil - Does this even need an introduction at this point? The long-as-fuck Devil Judge fanfic that won't leave me — or anyone else — alone. I love it. But god knows when it'll be finished. I'm hoping to be able to post a new chapter in a not-too-distant future.
A New Dawn (Begins With Us) - A Black Knight fic I'm hoping to finish during 2025 because there are only four chapters left and that's, like, 40k. I can bang that out in two weeks if I am at the top of my game. Unfortunately, I'm not at the top of my game, but still. It's doable and I'm going to do it.
Will You Tell (If They Ask About Me) - A Losers oneshot that I dug up from the WIP graveyard because I really like it and I miss Cougar and Jensen. Should hopefully not be too difficult to finish.
22. Do you know how your fic will end before you start writing?
And another copypasted answer 😊
Nine times out of ten, yes. I don't always know the journey there or the exact details of the ending, but I always know what point I want to reach before I start. That said, I'm not against certain things changing as I go along and, more than once, I've tweaked the events of the ending because I ended up exploring something in the middle that I then had to tie into the ending.
So while I know the general idea of what I want, I keep it loose enough that I can change it as I go along. I would feel too hindered if I didn't. The one time I did try to plan it in detail to the very end was my first fanfic The Thunder Moon Chronicles because that's what I was told that I should do. But I found that around 60% of the last instalment had to be altered compared to my original plan, simply because the story had evolved in a way I couldn't predict when I first structured it.
That's not to say that I ever lost track or control of it — I am very much in control the entire time I write — but rather that new and better ideas kept popping up as I was writing it and I wasn't stupid enough to discard them just because they weren't in my original plan. Sometimes, the story just has to be allowed to evolve, otherwise it might feel stilted or stagnate (or at least that's the case for me).
Thank you so much for sending in your questions! 😄

#Amethystina Replies#zawwz#Amethystina Does Ask Games#Fanfic Writer Asks#Though I am rereading a couple of fics now#Because the ship I'm reading for is one I've read before#But like ten years ago#And it turns out I don't remember all of them#So it's more of a refresher than a case of wanting to reread them because they're so good#Though some of them certainly are good!

thank you for tagging me, @ariadnekurosaki!!!
1 . How did you get into writing fanfiction?
uhh, when i was twelve i wrote horrendously bad self-insert inuyasha (and bleach?) fanfic on a now-defunct website that doesn't exist anymore lol since then i've bopped in and out of fandoms under different usernames across many platforms. often, i'll lose the muse in 2-3 year chunks, but get sucked back in for new fandoms.
except bleach. i always come back to bleach 😩
2. How many fandoms have you written in?
oh god, if we count dc, marvel, k-pop, and thai dramas (+rpf) as all their own respective fandoms (ie. not distinguishing between arrow, the flash, young justice, etc.), it's twelve - if we don't, it's almost thirty. a lot of my exo fanfics only reference other groups/solo artists, so i think that's too generous. the point is, it's a lot lol
3. How many years have you been writing fanfiction?
on and off since i was twelve (although when i was five i wrote a picture book about the disney princesses hanging out with me), but probably a total of 8 years actually active?
4. Do you read or write more fanfiction?
write more. i rarely read fanfiction unfortunately D:
5. What is one way you’ve improved as a writer?
i'm less verbose and my voice is cleaner.
6. What’s the weirdest topic you researched for a writing project?
quebecois sacres.
7. What’s your favorite type of comment to receive on your work?
when i make someone cry 😈 nah i really love detailed ones with quotations, ones that pinpoint exactly what parts hit them or meant the most to them. but tbh i love short keymashes too!
8. What’s the most fringe trope/topic you write about?
hmmm🤔 i don't think i write anything that out there... yet. i guess i like to write about psychic connections and niche super powers.
9. What is the hardest type of story for you to write?
ones with a lot of worldbuilding. and porn lol
10. What is the easiest type?
ones with a lot dialogue and character introspection.
11. Where do you do your writing? What platform? When?
my office, the tv room, my bed, sometimes outside. i used to write in coffee shops, at the library, work (especially when i worked at the library lol) before the pandemic and i became a hermit. in gdocs, because i write on my pc, chromebook, and phone. all hours.
12. What is something you’ve been too nervous/intimidated to write, but would love to write one day?
there's this one prompt from the bleach kink meme that i've been thinking about for ten years that has the potential to be really gross or really hot. or both. i might write it for the >5k au event in august idk
13. What made you choose your username?
lapmonster: my twitter username for a while before i decided to start posting on ao3 so i made my ao3 to match; it's a pun on rap monster. kairumption: when i started writing exo fic this was my livejournal url; another pun, it's kai + kyrumption (from angel). it's also where my nickname rum comes from. farewellswords: my twitter username changed from lapmonster in 2019 or 2020 because bts got too popular and army were accusing me of being a namjoon anti lmao; it's a chapter title from bleach.
probably should have kept kairumption as all of them, but i like farewellswords 🤷♀️ tbh it would have been my url here if an inactive acc didn't already have it. because, i mean, come on.
COME ON
okaaaay let's tag: @pomslices @retiredficwriter @komari-maxx @ellasaru12 @athousandbyeol @bytheforcebook and anyone else who wants to participate! :D sorry if i forgot you!
