We all know echo chambers exist and yet people on all parts of the political spectrum are still convinced that they represent the majority opinion because their highly tailored online circles agree with them.

#yes this includes my fellow Tumblr lefties #like yeah I'm a leftist too and I'd like it if more people were #but the simple reality is that your particular flavour of trotskyist anti-capitalist whatever is an extreme minority of the electorate #Tumblr is not reflective of the political reality of most countries #i am frustrated that my views are not more mainstream #but it's just the reality that they aren't #I'm under no illusions that a candidate supporting all of my ideal policies #would get a majority either in the US or Ireland #like honestly the best I can hope for here is that the Social Democrats win enough seats to influence a coalition #there is approximately zero chance of any of the more left-wing parties getting anywhere near government
