G, L, P, R, and W for Buffy?

G. Any plot holes you just can’t get past?

I’m always talking about it, so I’m sure it getsold, but why didn’t Buffy kill Spike whenhe stopped being useful? Or at least, throw him out of town. While by thelatter bits of season 5, they need him, and yes, in hindsight, esp. consideringSeason 7, they did need him, the fact remains that from around the end of ActII of Season 4 until the end of Act II in Season 5, there was no good reason tokeep Spike alive, and several good reasons to dust the bastard. Examplesinclude after the events of Yoko Factor and Crush, as well as that episodewhere he worked with Harmony to try to get his chip removed (can’t remember theepisode name offhand) in early season 5.

I like Spike, I do. But the sheer illogicalness ofhis continued presence/survival given thegrammar and concept of the show makes me want to rip my hair out. And thewriters never even thing to address it even in passing.

Me? Oh man, uhm… I’m not a very good actor. Maybe a corpse orvictim of the monster of the week? Like I get one line and then screams?

R. Do youfollow the creator’s other work?

Not really? I mean, it’s hard not to run into Joss’ work(Avengers and AoU being pretty big, after all) and he has written someobjectively good shows (Firefly, Dollhouse), but I don’t actively ‘follow’ hiswork because it’s his.

W. Whatmood makes you want to re watch this show?

I don’t actually rewatch BtVS that much, unless I’m rewatchingfor fic purposes or as a group rewatch. AtS is my go-to show for rewatching (I’velost track of the number of times I’ve rewatched 5x18 “Origin”, for example).

I suppose a lot of Amy/Radison feels would get me to watchSmashed or Wrecked, and that sort of thing for Xandelia…

But that’s about it.

Faith

Why I like them: The Dark Slayer. Dark, edgey, Grey, powerful, complicated

Why I don’t: Not so much her as some of her fans can be a bit too rabid in defense of her, IMO, or at least blind to her own mistakes and complicity. At least it sometimes feels like that. Also, y’know, the way her trying to rape Xander is never really addressed.

Favorite episode (scene if movie): Release, if I have to pick one. Sanctuary and Salvage if I can pick three.

Favorite season/movie: AtS Season 4

Favorite line:  “And you can’t stand that.  You’re all about control.  You have no idea what it’s like on the other side!  Where nothing’s in control, nothing makes sense!  There is just pain and hate and nothing you do means anything.  You can’t even..” -

Favorite outfit: That denim jacket she wears in AtS S4

Brotp: Angel or Wesley (I mean, yes, I ship Faithsley, but a Faith/Wesley Slayer/Watcher Brotp is still good)

Head Canon: Bi. Bi af. Not really much of a reach, but technically Faith being anything but straight isn’t canon. Technically.

Unpopular opinion: She was complicit in her own crappy conditions in early Season 3, to a degree. What I Mean is that when I see those posts ragging on the Scoobies/etc for leaving her in that crappy motel room and whatnot - she actively hide that from people, and actively put up a facade of being 100% cool with it. Yes, they should have dug deeper (especially Giles, the fucking Adult in the Room), but when you keep pushing away potential help AND constantly act like you don’t need it, you don’t get to act pissed when no one helps you. The same applies to people getting pissed on your behalf. At some point you need to actually ask for help or at least not, you know, spend every waking second hiding/denying to others that you need it. To be fair, I don’t think Faith, at least once she’s better, ever actually does this.

Why I like them: She’s sweet and amazing and amazing?

Why I don’t: Honestly, in Season 5 she gets a we bit overly judgey about Willow using magic without “good reason”, IMO, IIRC S5 (setting the stage for what happens in Season 6) and also similarly is a little bit overreactive before the first time Willow wipes her memory (assuming that first time we see her do it was the first time). I don’t think Willow was using too much magic up until she started playing with memory. Maybe she really was on a slippery slope, but I generally don’t believe in slippery slopes.

Favorite line: A specific one can’t come to my mind rn

Favorite outfit: A lot of people tell me her outfits were pretty bad. I never noticed anything standing out one way or the other.

last movie you saw: Finding Dory, I think.  last song you listened to: I honestly don’t remember. It was at work and when I’m at work my music on shuffle just kinda blends into the background last show you watched: I’m (slowly) working my way through the 8-episode televisionization of Bernard Cornwell’s “The Last Kingdom”. It’s really good (though my brain kept insisting the guy playing King Alfred is Vincent Karthweiser (sp?), even though he’s clearly not and isn’t) last book you read: When I don’t have my computer in front of me, I’m slowly working my way through The Briar King by Greg Keyes last thing you ate: Toll House Cracker sandwiches if you could be anywhere right now where would you be: My own, reasonably sized, 100% paid off house near a bus route that can take me to work and school and whatnot.  where would you time travel to: Can I change anything? Honestly, I’d be lame and do something minor - like make Joss Whedon give Amy more screentime/make Faimy a thing. I’d rather not risk messing up the space-time continium more. I’d have a whole laundry list of things I’d somehow convince Joss to do (Not break up Xandelia/get them back together at some point, make Lockangel a thing, yada yada yada) first thing you would do with lottery money: Put half of it in the bank (probably split across multiple accounts at several different banks) fictional character you’d hang with for a day: BtVS Season 3 Amy, AtS Season 2 Wesley, Kara Lynn Palamas circa 2x18, pre-series or S1 Skye, Willow Rosenberg anytime but Season 6, Xander Harris.. time right now: 11:21 pm.

Honestly, several, but the one that makes me the most sad rn is probably Weslah - Lilah died alone, with Wesley having broken up with her ( and Lilah possibly thinking Wesley didn’t anymore /never did love her to boot), and then condemned to a hellish eternity under the Senior Partners' thumb

Fred/Willow, sorta? I guess. I just - I really really don’t get it and seeing so many people talk about it (it comes up surprisingly often for how little there is to back it) is just… agh! Fred wasn’t flirting with Willow in Orpheus! Gah! (That’s my view anyway). It just feels (to me) like people reaching for femslash for the sake of femslash, and I know how that sounds, and I certainly would never say people can’t ship it. I’m sure people could accuse me of shipping Faimy or Radison for the sake of Femslash or objectification purposes, and I’d say that I’m not, but Fred/Willow shippers would presumably say they’re not doing it either. Shipping is very subjective, I get that.

Fresley, because I wanted Wesley to be happy with the woman he loved, but that’s really not fair to Fred and I have more issues with the Ship now that I’ve thought about it anyway.
