oh my gosh! thank you!! i really love character interactions and relationship dynamics, so i wanted to depict two girls who seemed like opposites - one cool and laid-back, the other soft and sweet. after a while they started to take on a life of their own, and i thought it'd be wonderful if their story could evoke the feeling of a shoujo romance!

i had a lot of things on my mind when i wrote the script... friendship, intimacy, communication... communication can be so hard! sometimes it's harder with someone you're close to because their opinion is so important to you. and what happens when you've got a character who's non-confrontational and has low self-esteem + someone who prefers actions over words, and would rather burn bridges than admit to feeling vulnerable? how would they get past that? i wanted to write their flaws as believable, and how their life experiences have shaped the way they think about themselves / the way they respond to personal conflict... but also how they learn from each other and grow ❤️ tysm for the question!!

ahh there's no sequel planned as of right now! but i'd love to make one if i get the chance... i have some ideas that i think would be fun <3 and momo gardner is her full name! i liked gardner because it made me think of flowers ☺️❤️ thank you so much!!

thank you both so much!!!! <3 a sequel is actually one of the ideas i pitched for my second book! my editor cautioned against it in case IYHM didn't perform well, so i ended up going in a different direction - but my fingers are crossed for future opportunities 😤 realistically, it will probably depend on sales... but for the record, i'd want to do one regardless of the numbers...

i have one more book coming out, which i'm working on right now! the timeline is a bit up in the air atm but i'll try to keep everyone posted. making a book is so slow but i'm so grateful to you all for waiting 🥺💛

ahh not at the moment! but thank you SO much for the interest! one of my biggest goals right now is to set up a website where i have all my work in one place, and that would definitely be the place where i post future webcomics 👀

also, just as an aside... i want to make webcomics so bad. i think after my next book, i might take a break from traditional publishing to do that. sometimes i can't believe i'm drawing hundreds of pages i can't post... i'm like, how are people supposed to read this if i can't show them? how will they know?! ahh it kills me... but yes... someday!!!

1. Tell us about your current project(s)  – what’s it about, how’s progress, what do you love most about it?

Currently, I'm finishing up a fearfest prompt that got a bit out of control, haha. It's not particularly long, but I had a hard time getting to the end because I came up with the premise and started writing whilst, ahem, inebriated. It's a Pet Semetary inspired drarry fic, in the very vaguest of terms (because it absolutely does not follow the plot of Pet Semetary whatsoever), which I've lovingly dubbed my zombie smut. Ha! I'm about 3 sentences from the end and I have no idea why I'm procrastinating so much on finishing it. I think my favorite bit is that it's very weird, plot-wise? And I'm playing with a little bit of magic theory for the first time, which has always intimidated me. OH! And lots of feelings abound, you know I love that shit. 😂 It's my first attempt at horror or suspense, and as someone who absolutely cannot handle consuming horror, it's kind of exciting to push outside my comfort zone!

4. Share a sentence or paragraph from your writing that you’re really proud of (explain why, if you like)

Ahhhhh, this one is hard for me. But. At least today, I think this bit from my wireless fic stitched and sewn is one of my favorite things I've written (and published) - because I wanted to take what I know about neuroscience and how memory works, and somehow make it pretty prose. And I'm kind of proud at how it came out!

Draco’s lungs feel ready to swallow him whole, hands trembling as they map Harry’s skin, letting his memory soak it in. He imagines his fingertips as synapses tying his mind’s eye to sensory. Each heartbeat tapping into their magic, drawing in their very essence. Every freckle, every scar, every sigh. Each evocation and sensation broken down to the millisecond, embedding themselves within his neural pathways, an extra input to be encoded for later retrieval, snug and steadfastly rooted. These are the memories he’ll save for himself. For each maudlin moment in the future they’ll serve as an attestation of his worth. A reminder that he is worthy enough to love, but not worthy enough to keep.

18. Do any of your stories have alternative versions? (plotlines that you abandoned, AUs of your own work, different characterisations?) Tell us about them.

Ha. Yeah, almost every fic is a different iteration than I originally planned on writing! I abandon plot lines all the time, which is why I'm terrible at outlining honestly. That being said, some spoilers ahead!

So, originally, in stitched and sewn, this was going to be much longer. Like, probably at least double the final wc as it stands. After their night together, Harry was going to sneak out in the morning without saying goodbye. And there was going to be a whole chapter of angst, and the boys avoiding each other. Then, Ginny was supposed to show up on Draco's door step and lowkey encourage Draco to talk some sense into Harry and fight for him, and would reveal that they were separated and had been for some time. At this point, since Draco's characterisation shows that he's extremely insecure, he wasn't going to necessarily believe Ginny and would sort of go about things the way he always had - by being self-destructive and throwing himself into dangerous situations. There would be a moment where he'd pushed himself too far, and injured himself so gravely that he had to be taken straight to St Mungo's, which convinces him that whatever was happening between Harry and him was over, since Harry never shows and he's discharged home broken-hearted. Ironically, he doesn't know that Harry is just a few rooms down, also hospitalised. Harry shows up the next morning on his door step, in a very angsty rom-com way, and that's when the big moment of their final conversation was supposed to take place. It was a huge undertaking as a plot for my timeline, and I'm glad that my lovely alpha's helped me figure out a way to get to that happy ending I was aiming for, without compromising my internal idea for the storyline. I still think about it, though, just because I wanted Ginny to have her shining moment as the ultimate partner!

happy hour had so many different iterations, it's hard to succinctly sum up what it was supposed to look like, because honestly, I was just flying by the seat of my pants on this one. It was originally planned as a short and sweet 2k fic, and I just kept adding scenes and other details to it, before it ended up as 10k in it's final form. There was originally a private conversation between Harry and Pansy at some point that I cut from the story, where she's amazing and feisty with Harry and gives some delicious banter, before she reveals Draco's secret motivations for coming to the bar. It's also in this conversation that Harry finds out that her and Ginny are casually dating (ginsy my beloved). It was fun, but ultimately didn't really work for the way I had laid the fic out, so Draco ended up being the one to reveal his intentions at the end of the fic! (also featuring a blowjob scene that wasn't supposed to be there, originally. 😂)

actually I am suuuper excited too but there’s still some brainstorming left to do. It’s gonna take awhile though. I’ll probably start writing it Mid-September to Mid-October (since usually slice of life series take a bit over than a month) which means the story will be posted in November? - if my estimations are accurate.

You’re really too much *sobs*. Trust me, my writing is still far from the ideal. Lately I’ve been thinking about how flowery my descriptions can be (as a result, it could drag and be boring). I’d like to make my writing a bit more straightforward. There’s this saying..something about saying more in less words. (side story - every time I write essays in school they’re like I need to be more direct or cut down all of this hahahahhaa)

I, too, love SCP. I had a beta reader for the first three chapters of SCP and she told me that the OC was very ‘intense’ and I laughed. She certainly has a very strong character and yes, she’s someone I also want to be.

And yeah my slice of life series are a complete opposite from my angst stories (with intricate storylines and plot twists). I keep my slice of life low from conflicts and keep it chill, just as a fun read. The problem I face with that is that slice of life can become pretty boring so what I have to do instead of drawing readers in through plot is relying on the relationship between the two main characters. I focus on the relationship and character development. One of the reasons I find FL&M and SCP remotely ‘good’ is because of the relationship (honestly though Yoongi and the OC’s relationship is my favourite one I wrote thus far). So I gotta think about how I’m going to make future slice of life relationships different and fresh.

I’m so happy that it helped you so much. It’s unexpected to say the least - something I spewed out on paper has helped you to that extent. I hope things are okay now for you.

I feel like it might be a cop-out to say ‘what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger’ (cause let’s be honest here, if you get hit by a car and don’t die, you’re probably not that strong at the moment) but honestly, no matter the trials you face, you gotta have hope for a better future and strive forward.
