anyways POPPY... i feel like one of the reasons you don't see a whole lot of poppy on her own in fanart is bc drawing stylized birds is hard, but she still shows up in a lot of ensemble art because... i mean, you can't just not have poppy there. still. i would learn how to draw birds for her. i will, once i have the time.

i'm kind of shocked her "anxious hermit" status hasn't been utilized more in horror fanworks, Especially given the apparent importance of the concept of homes in welcome home? i usually think about this in the context of "if anything happened to her, who do you think would notice first/what would be The Thing that makes her home so unsafe that she would have no choice but to leave?" but lately i have been considering an Alternative question: if there was something outside that prompted her to leave her home, what could it possibly be? we will see which question wins out eventually, i imagine.

a less heavy/speculative thought i have is that i would love to see a cookbook from her. well really i would love to see a cookbook where every neighbor pitches in at least one recipe but even then i would like it to have been compiled by her. you could have like little back-and-forth exchanges between the neighbors thru little notes in the margins... it would be cute.
