It would be so amazing if TRC fandom cared as much about researching western Virginia as it does about setting roadtrip AUs in people's hometowns.
#I'm salty as fuck about how little people care about the setting of trc#trc is so intrinsically a story about rural virginia#and i'm tired of washed out photosets and the excitement over changing the setting#the strength of the series owes a lot to the setting and Stiefvater's intimate knowledge of it#it's a story in and about appalachia#and tbh i avoid most non kink or horror gangsey fic because fic authors fail so miserably at imitating that#blue and ronan can be written outside of that but adam and gansey can't#their stories are tied into virginia over and over#from their homes to their accents to their personalities#and god i need more discussion and acknowledgement of mental illness in this series#because blue is the only memeber of the gangsey unaffected#and it's not a stretch to say Kavinsky was borderline and henry is autistic with a panic disorder#and just ugh#i don't get what people see in this series if they're ignoring all of that#trc
