Kamukurized Taka and normal Makoto meeting Kamukura pretty please.

Okay, so what I'm imagining here is the scientists invite Taka and Makoto out of the room, the way they have for plenty of normal tests and assignments before.

This is going to be a very new kind of test. Because Taka is so perceptive, the ones who are actually arranging for them to be introduced to the original Izuru Kamukura Project (as in the Hajime version, basically the blueprint of every trial that followed) make sure that the people walking them out of the Kamukuras' living space also don't know that this will be anything more than the usual fare. They're even taken to one of the usual test rooms.

But once inside (and of course the door's impenetrable locking mechanism engages as soon as they enter), instead of any kind of puzzle or physical exam, there is a formally-dressed young man with crimson eyes and hair down to his knees.

(Were the door centered in the room, Taka might have been able to prevent Makoto from entering behind him, but the door is positioned so that he can't see the room's center until he is a few steps inside.)

Taka's body instantly adjusts to the unfamiliar and potentially dangerous presence. He doesn't tense for a physical altercation, as Izuru's posture is very passive, and acting otherwise would be a de facto escalation, but he becomes very vigilant about maintaining a certain position relative to both Makoto and Izuru.

Taka and Izuru make silent eye contact for several seconds.

The original breaks the silence. "Trial 22." (Taka's number. No doubt, Izuru has been availed of at least the primary files on all of his successors.)

"Yes," Taka responds flatly, and adds nothing. If the 'test', now, is open-ended interaction, he will not help it to last longer.

And then a few more seconds of silence. Izuru studies Taka like an exotic insect.

Makoto, who made one attempt to stand beside Taka but somehow still ended up behind him, quietly asks, "Is he like you guys?"

"Yes," Taka says again. "He is the prototype. The one they first called 'Ultimate Hope'. They took the body from a reserve course student at Hope's Peak. Of course, they didn't try this procedure on those they considered talented until they had tried it on someone they didn't value. He was kept in isolation, rather than being brought up alongside others of his kind. When last I heard, the original was considered the Project's greatest success."

"And how would you rate the success of Trial 22?" Izuru asks.

"Abject failure."

"That was my impression, too. I was curious to inspect the site of the damage."

"The damage doesn't warrant inspection. The new consciousness has developed an excess of self-awareness, causing a perpetual draw to self-termination."

"...and in denial of their mistake, they hastily exploited the botched trial's predisposition to oversocialize, minimizing loss by introducing a protectorate. That was also my impression."

"Then this test need not continue. We've reached a well-supported consensus."

"It's their test, not mine. I'm not the one you must convince that it need not continue."

"Yes, you are."

Another second of silence, and then Izuru allows his eyes to drift to Makoto. "I was curious," he says again, "to inspect the site of the damage."

"You may be curious," Taka says, "to inspect anything else in the world."

"I may. But I'm not."

Another silence.

This time, Makoto is the one who breaks it. "He's not...You're not a failure, Taka. Even if you're not what they wanted you to be, that doesn't mean you're a failure. They don't get to decide what your purpose is."

"Then it seems we haven't reached a consensus after all," Izuru says. "Come closer, talentless."

"Um...I think I'm fine here."

"Because you feel you're safe behind him?"

"...Because he's my friend and he's upset."

Izuru is going to take a serious interest in Makoto, and Taka won’t like it.

Any specific notes you’ve got on the thought process behind each student’s new uniform changes for the THH cast? And are you planning to do some for the SDR2 and V3 cast as well?

Note: Anon is referring to these designs!Hmm kinda! There are some choices I made more deliberately than others, although not many characters go as deep as the one note I had about Taka's design. But I'll happily go through the ones that I didn't!Mondo - I initially didn't have Mondo's blazer be embroidered, but considering it's such a stick-out feature of his canon design, it felt wrong not keeping it. Additionally, Mondo is a little bit scrawnier here, for lack of a better word, and that's deliberate! These are supposed to be the students at their first year of the academy, so I wanted to make Mondo seem a little younger!

Taka - I'm not gonna reiterate here so instead here's the post where I talk about him a lil. Lol.

Celeste - Girl is absolutely fighting for her LIFE with this uniform, and for what its worth she found a pretty good balance! The dress underneath is a JSK of her own design, and kinda meant to be reminiscent of earlier EGL styles. She is supposed to look a little bit "ITA", even. I also brought back the hair ribbons from her beta design, and the butterfly hairclip takes from the pattern on her tie in canon!

Chihiro - I have a couple notes on Chihiro! For starters I honestly wanted to make her look a little bit dorkier lol. I gave her the little headband and the glasses for that reason, but the glasses were also to make her match her Dad even more! I wanted to give her a massive backpack too so she always has a spot to keep her laptop and other equipment (yes she has it on her at all times). And finally I gave her a little sweater vest with a dandelion on it, since one of her favorite gifts is the everlasting dandelion! It's supposed to be embroidered on, heehee.

Sayaka - As much as I love her, Sayaka's design isn't actually all that deep? lol. I've always had an affinity for drawing Sayaka with cute little designer hats. i honestly think she has a few of them that she can whip out to give any look a little extra panache. Not to mention the constant inclusion of TONS of pink. I also gave her the flower hairclip from one of her beta designs!

Aoi - Hina is honestly one of my favorite designs in the roster! I just really like her silhouette, idk. I always knew she had to keep the shorts, so she gets the shorts!! Her typical tracksuit is around her waist instead, her eyes are a darker blue for the sake of my sanity, and her ponytail has a kinkier shape! My favorite little detail that I'm sure nobody noticed is that the thing tying her hair together is a coil scrunchie, since they're super good for wet hair in particular! I used to use them a lot back when I used to swim!

Sakura - Honestly, I just wanted Sakura to look at ordinary as humanly possible. She gets a really normal looking uniform- little to no modifications made aside from wearing her usual shoes, the armbands, the bandages, and the striped socks that I took from one of her beta designs!

Hifumi - Hifumi didn't really change all that much either, aside from getting the orange pants to match his orange tie! I do think he painted the arrow on himself, and it looks INCREDIBLY scuffed, lol. Honestly, my main priority with hifumi was to do him some actual justice on the anatomy side, lol. I hope I did an alright job!

Makoto - Makoto also doesn't really change all that much... Really, all that got altered was the blazer and the pants, although I will note that the pants are rolled up because he ABSOLUTELY ordered the wrong size by accident.

Kyoko - Going into this, LONG before I started drawing her I knew that Kyoko needed to have pants, even if it killed me. I just always thought that it'd better suit her usual design to have pants, or at LEAST a longer skirt. It always just looked kinda off to me that she had this big long sleeved blazer and then a short pleated skirt?? Like at least allow her the luxury of like. A pencil skirt. Lol.

Byakuya - Byakuya also doesn't really undergo much change. Really, all i have to say regarding him is that hes got a tall collared button-up and that he kept his usual necktie...

And that's everyone until I sit my ass down and draw the rest! I'm sure I'll eventually get to it... Possibly.

As for the other games, currently I have no plans to do anybody beyond the thh cast. I MIGHT do sdr2 at a far, FAR later date, but I don't think V3 will ever be on the table since quite frankly, I couldn't be assed. Sorry if you were hoping for them!

I'm not saying it's a mischaracterization that Shikamaru would think like that, just that you keep saying "Sasuke almost killed," "Sasuke hurt ," and no, Sasuke didn't do that. Others did. Others ordered it. Again, Sasuke didn't even SEE these people. Semantics are important, and what's brought the entire fandom to blame this character for tons of shit he didn't do (while the culprits remain unscathed and never acknowledged as such).

The fandom likes to blame Kishi for fucking the manga up. I think Kishi did a remarquable job at keeping up ten years of writing and drawing all the time with extremely short deadlines, no respites and many jobs depending on his success. 

I think Naruto has issues, that it’s not always coherent and is quite sexist, but I think the fandom is too harsh on that one man. Does “the fandom” have any idea how consuming it is to create art? While people insult you for not catering to their every single desire?

Believing Shikamaru is actually smart (though so many other characters, including Naruto, are just as strategic, and don’t even give up)

Thinking Naruto is actually dumb (though he comes up with great strategy on the spot, yet didn’t get social or overall education to help him know basic stuff)

Thinking Naruto should act morally (while due to his lack of social education he can only rely on himself and his empathy as a guideline) 

Believing Kakashi is a great teacher (always late, neglects students, bad coach)

Believing Naruto’s actual goal was to become Hokage (though from the first chapter he defaces them and states he wants acceptance and respect)

Believing Sasuke doesn’t care about others (while he risks his life or goal away to protect Sakura and Naruto from their first day as a team)

Believing Sakura actually loves Sasuke romantically from the start (while she doesn’t even know he’s an orphan or would despise people mocking orphans. How can you love someone you don’t know? That’s the imago debate.)

Believing Sasuke loves team Taka as a family instead of protecting them as both a team captain and a protection-obsessed trauma survivor (while he recruited them and they barely know each other at the beginning. Sasuke is one of the only actual ninja in that manga, so I understand why him acting as such could look odd.)

Believing Sakura doesn’t start questioning her infatuation for Sasuke even before he leaves the village (through multiple instances of her feeling attracted to Naruto’s personality and explicitly asking herself about that)

Thinking Hinata is weak (though she keeps risking her physically debilitated body and overcomes her crushing shyness and low self-esteem to fight Neji for her own dream, or to help and encourage Naruto while no-one else lifts a finger, all the while knowing she cannot win)

Thinking Jiraiya or Karin are not sexual harassers (???)

Thinking Itachi saved Sasuke out of love (instead how he also spared him out of duty towards his own clan, giving his clan the chance to be avenged)

Thinking Sasuke wants to kill Itachi (again, Sasuke is a dutiful, traditional Japanese younger brother. He has to obey Itachi, and he has to avenge his clan. But he can’t bring himself to kill anyone. Weird how he keeps suppressing his own will and even gives up is own body to achieve vengeance, right?)

Thinking Sasuke is an emo jerk (while he’s suicidal, depressed, paranoid, severely traumatised, with valid reasons to believe Itachi will at some point find and torture him or try to kill his loved ones again. Which happens.)

Thinking Sasuke didn’t betray Konoha (while, no matter his reasons, as a ninja he had a contract to only leave if asked to)

Believing Gaara is a cute fluffy little sand worm (though he did murder civils and no-one seems to remember that. I get it, I do love him. Just... he’s now bossing around the families of people he murdered??)

Thinking Minato is a great dad (while for a moment he had the choice to stay alive to raise his son instead of granting him ten seconds with his dead mom)

I’m sure there are more instances but that list is already long. Point is: we tend to find excuses to characters we love, or vilify the ones we don’t, instead of admitting we love a flawed character or a vilain with qualities.

I’ll pay more attention to my wording, but if people take what the manga tells them at face value instead of reflecting upon it, I don’t think I’m going to make much of a difference. And I refuse to take the blame for other people not thinking critically. 

TL;DR: Don’t blame me for other people’s behavior.
