Update on the School Teacher AU Distaster:

I've decided that Mr. Benedict actually didn't get hired at all. Curtain included a library on campus because it's expected of him, but the idea of all those books (And in real bookcases instead of picture frames, gasp!) makes him uncomfortable (And brings up memories...) so he just left it without a librarian.

S. Q. and the other kids go hide there sometimes because most of the students never use it, and there isn't anyone to keep it organized or clean or anything besides them, so they don't have to worry about getting found out.

But, once all the other adults get actually hired in relevant positions, Mr. B sneaks in and just starts telling whoever happens to see him that he's the new librarian. He's not in any of the paperwork, and he's definitely not getting paid. Curtain eventually finds out about him and lets him stay, but he's basically just showing up and talking to the kids all day and helping out for free
