#what are we even doing here guys#I'm not saying the writers have to be megafans but you've at least got to have watched an episode about Vulcans#if you're going to write about an episode where everyone becomes Vulcan#Vulcan logic being a cultural practice has been established for literally decades#but even if it wasn't#how can you look at Spock Sarek Sybok Tuvok or T'Lyn and not see that the struggle with emotions is key to their characters and culture#hell the entire Sarek episode in TNG is explicitly about how Sarek's immense emotional control is slipping#Have they every glanced at season one of Discovery?? Michael Burnham is culturally Vulcan at that point#hell the entire underlying themes of Disco S1 and S2 are about how context and decisions create identity#Michael Ash Georgiou Saru all gave conflicts between who or what they 'should' be and what they actually do and are
