Another Trip to The Shrink Boston

*Note - this is my lens and I highly reccomend reading @wen-kexing-apologist here on cruising which has contributed a lot to the way my generation views homosexuality and gay culture.

Oh man, where do I even begin...?

First of all, just wanna say that this show has my brain stuck in so many loops that I can't see straight (put semi-intended). And Boston, my boy. I love him, but he is a victim of my time (re: the aftermath of cruising culture and HIV).

As I mentioned before, Boston has took upon himself this role in the group and this is the value he sees in himself. He is the slut of the group. I completely agree with @syrena-del-mar 's read of Boston as a Machiavellian prince and one that is a product of my generation. I think it would be even more accurate to say that Boston is the outcome of promoting and embracing the Machivellian Prince traits, as I see him more aspiring to be a Machiavellian prince rather than actually being one (successfully).

I mentioned it briefly here and I would like to go into it further when it comes to Boston. I believe that Boston represents the idea of queerness being the sex you have. I remember growing up in an environment where being gay means having all the sex you can have with all the partners you can get, often more than one at a time. I would hear things like why would they even want to get married? Everyone knows that gay relationships are open relationships. It was so deeply imbeded in the conversation that I vivdly remember the first time I realized that queer people have "normal" relationships just like everyone else.

I want to insert a side note here because @wen-kexing-apologist 's post really made me realize that what I take as a known fact is something that happens very differently today and needs to be explained. So basically (and I'm generalizing here) all of that stems from the discussion around HIV that exposed or brought to light (in a more agressive way) the gay cruising culture. This served as fuel to the fire of gay=sex, Gay men cruising=no gay men have sexually exclusive relationships, etc...

Because what I wanted to say was that I see all of the above as the idea or blueprint for Boston's character. From his cruising habbits, through his views of sex and virginity to the way he speaks about relationships. It's like hearing the voices I grew up around, which really lead to internalised homophobia disguised as anti-heteronormativity. (For the record, I don't think that anti-het.norm. equals homophobia, but I do think that this specific case has homophobic roots)

It's very much like the ideas that guide toxic male behavior. Boston lies and manipulates. He says what he thinks his pray wants or needs to hear in order to stay submissive. Take Nick for example - I fully believe that Nick would have been just fine accepting his status as fuck buddy without the manipulation. He would have stayed for the sex and crumbs of attention, fully acknowledging that this is what he can get.

However, Boston was taught to believe that sex requires manipulation, that everyone you sleep with more than once will catch feelings, and that you must string them along with false promisses of more than sex if you want them to keep being there waiting (so, pretty much how toxic men view women when it comes to casual sex - leading to views of gay men as being women rather than men who like men).

Ok, back to Boston and Nick! Just look at Nick's face journey here - he's not buying any of it.

See, Nick is getting a ton of mixed messages from Boston and he is COnFuSed! He isn't asking because he wants to hear 'be my boyfriend', he's asking because he honestly can't figure out what the hell is happening!

Boston forgets that if he wants to keep Nick around he needs to switch up his lines as they only work for one night stands. Now, he has Nick hearing all his 'I never go back for seconds' and 'you're my favorite' bs and he starts asking himself should I be reading something into this? Because he knows who Boston is and I really believe that he wouldn't have asked about their status otherwise. But, when Nick asks (cos he is just so so so confused bless him), Boston panics. He never (I'm assuming) had to deal with this before so instead of getting out, he just digs a deeper hole and moves in permanently. In his mind, he will never get to have just the sex with Nick if there is no promise of something more. So he promises, and keeps promising, with words, and actions.

Again, Nick is no buying this. He is sus af.

And no one was asking for this Boston. You came up with it ALL ON YOUR OWN!

I will carefully say that from what I've seen before and my personal experiences with the Bostons of this world, if he doesn't get out of the hole he will find himself catching feelings that he has no tools to deal with. Boston is enjoying the intimacy more than he's wiling to admit, but it will catch up to him. Once it does he's going to panic-react all wrong. He's going to kick Nick as far away from him as he can, making Nick believe it's his own fault. When in fact, none of this would've happened if Boston had not been such a victim of his own persona.

The whole point of Good Omens is about shades of grey, remember? We had it stated sever times in canon. It doesen’t mean «pure good Crowley makes pure evil Aziraphale better person». It means that they both are absolutely not perfect, and it’s what makes then human, and it what makes them actually better, because perfection leads to uniformity and they are so so unique!

Crowley’s not jumping to saving every soul he see. Even from the start! Before the beginning? He loves his stars, not concerned for some monkeys that would look at them! (which is absolutely normal! Why he should care?). Adam and Eve? He’s nervous because he wasn’t expecting such harsh punishment for some dumb apple, he thinks it’s unfair, he's willing to discuss it with Aziraphale — which doesen’t want to discuss anything, but he also can’t stand to see humans suffering when he can do something. He’s the one that selflessly and not thinking about how it will hit him back jumps to help! Great Flood? They both stands there, just watching, and yes, Crowley argues that it’s unfair again, but Aziraphale’s not there with «oh it’s actually fine :)» smile as some people insist — he’s worried too and, and things he quote sounds awfully as something heavens would say to the one angel that immediatly asked «but surely we can’t kill everyone??». He’s quoting it because he have nothing else to say, not for Crowley, not for himself. And they both can only watch. Christ? Again, they’re not jumping to save, they watch.

(side note, but I think people just don’t get how important it is. We live in awful times, there’s so much war and death around, and you can do only an itty bitty things to help but it’s not enough, and it can crush you if you’re alone. I would’ve end in hospital or in prison two years ago if there wasn’t a friend that shared all this with me. And they had each other. That's the bond that stronger than any romantic love)

Next three flashback are not about helping anyone (although let’s remember that Arragemet wasn’t some noble plan, it was about two lazy cowokers finding a way to do less work and hang out more! it’s important too! they’re lazy and selfish and want to live in forever vacation, which is mood). He’s in good mood and he wants to party and maybe theoretically discuss God’s cruelty with his angel. But Aziraphale sees the nice poor girl that made choices that can cost her ethernity in afterlife, and he tries to help! And look, he's not saying she just should drop everything and pray, he's actually trying to brainshtorm what she can do insted of evil naughty thins! As living human that needs to eat! Like, he’s there asking absolutely normal questions for someone who didn’t get accustomed to industrialisation and early stage capitalism yet (he’s slow, ok, although I’m mad because remember that this dialog was in book? and it was a thousand years earlier? and it was a Crowley who took a whole year to understant that it’s unfair while Aziraphale knew this and was like, well, it’s party line, what are you expected? why they shifted context so much). In the world where no one was killed Crowley would help her with body and go back to drinking or something, lefting her to dig another body next evening and live like this forever. But Aziraphale’s the one that wants to change that!! Go through episode, read the lines, look at their faces without being attached to fanon Jesus-like Crowley and you’ll see the one being that knows that the system is fucked and doing nothing to change it and the other not understanding system wholly but being willing to bend the rules and eventually risk his life to help — and I want to point it hard — NOT innocent human! She’s a street rat, she’s a grave robber (and Crowley understands why it’s bad more than Aziraphale, until the «it’s different when it’s someone you know» moment, but still he was in favor of digging bodies), she’s not deserving of help by heaven’s standarts, and still Aziraphale’s willing to risk falling, again, for her and her human lover! (THAT'S foreshadowing much, huh? HUH?) And that’s when Crowley understands: oh, shit, it’s not funny for him! It’s not just a lesson on morality! He’s really really can get punished if he do something stupid now!

Remember that second point of season was «stop messing with humans please»? That’s where it’s started, arguably.

So, like, yes, Crowley obliviously wasn’t planning to save Elpsbeth in any way until Aziraphale was willig to do it first. And why you need it to be different? We already know that Crowley’s nice deep inside. He doesn’t do anything bad there, even. It’s not a slander to his character. There’s billions of humans he — or Aziraphale — doesn’t help every day. Crowley accustomed to this, that’s the point. But then Aziraphale’s doing something risky (again, that’s his whole deal: sword, this scene, ditching his platoon and diving on earth, the nimb bomb — all done [or almost done] in defiance of heavens and for the humanity, all by his own, without Crowley’s influence! You don’t need to take this from him and stuff good qualities into Crowley until he’s absolutely flattens, Aziraphale doing something good is not stealing goodness from Crowley!).

Also remember 1941? The ones where Aziraphale wants to take down the nazi spies while Crowley smuggles alcohol? It’s the same pattern! Crowley don’t want to be mistaken for nazi (so he changes his shirt), but he’s not involved in any anti-nazi work (we talks about canon there, you can have headcanons, I sure do). It’s Aziraphale who jumps on chance to do good, again, and Crowley, again, deals with nazi only when they are the treat to Aziraphale. WHICH IS FINE. It doesen’t makes him bad. It shows that he loves his comfortable life and a little of mischieve, while Aziraphale loves his comfortable life and a little of doing good. It’s important that in this scene there’s no visible, like, innocent kid being harmed right now — I’m sure Crowley would’ve go out of his way to help then. But Aziraphale get’s tangled with some spies and suppliers, they doing nazi work indirectly — you need to think strategically to understand why you should help there, which Aziraphale clearly does. It also shows that he willing to work on changing things and not passively wait (or sleep) untill bad times go away, when he gets a chance to do it without miracles (as we saw in Edinburg minisode, he’s afraid that too many miracles or too big miracle used to help wrong people will put him in trouble). Which arguably foreshadows final fifteen again, but it's not the point of this post.

I can go next scene by scene but whatever, I’ll just remind you that’s while stopping the apocalypce was Crowley's idea, he:

— wasn’t concerned for the humans, at least at the start — he was mostly concerned for his earthly life, as much as Aziraphale, which includes humans, but not in oh-I-want-to-save-them way. Which is good! All first season is about how being a little bit egoistical and thinks about yourself can motivate you to change the world because it's YOUR world too!

— was actually working toward apocalypse and looking forward to it, until Antichrist came and he suddenly get that it will happen, like, for real (that’s literally said by word of God, remember?)

— and also, Aziraphale wasn’t opposed to idea of stopping apocalypse, he was sure that there’s no way to stop it and all that they can do is to hope that heavens will win (at least there’s no torture in heavens!… probably)

Like, it wasn’t Crowley explaining to Aziraphale that «apocalypse bad, heavens bad», it was him TEMPTING Aziraphale to give in to urge to stop apocalypse because he loves his earthly life as much as Crowley!!

Anyway, my point is — fandom loves black and white thinking. One should always be right, let’s make another one always wrong. One should always be heroic, let’s make other one villian or damsel in distress. That’s not how it work in real life, that’s not how it work in Good Omens, and Good Omens actually would’ve be really bland if it was the case. Aziraphale changes Crowley as much as he changes Aziraphale, but as everything Aziraphale do, it’s much more subtle. And they both get changed by humanity! (remember, again, the doctor from Edinburg? He sure was an eye-opener for them both)

Another thing, I think, is that people doesen’t want to step into Aziraphale’s shoes. Why would you do it, when there’s Crowley, who’s always right? It’s much more pleasant to be right, and Aziraphale’s always so unsure and his growth is not linear and sometimes he’s even says bad things! Nah, easier to not think from his perspective at all, and easier to not symphatise with him, just patronize at best, to make Crowley a better person for being willing to teach him too (which honestly makes azicrowley looks a little creepy, but you do you, just not in front of my salad please). So people that projects into Crowley, already the ones that unwilling to be not right or not good or not the most hurt party in every fight (again, it's understandble! but really narrows your perspective), gets really uncomfortable if you points that their characterisation of Crowley is not always in line with canon, because a) that makes him wrong or not-perfect sometimes and b) it makes THEM wrong or not-perfect sometimes.

Again, it’s not me picking a fight, and it’s fine if you have another interpretations of anything we saw on screen or any different headcanons. But try to look at what I said not from the point of hostility and character slander but from the point of love, because I LOVE them so much and I love them BECAUSE they both are painted in shades of gray! You don't need to mold Crowley into absolutely different character to love him! Imperfection is fine and good!

ok so first things first, i loooove gatwa's doctor so much already. if nothing else, i love the masterclass in acting he's putting on, his expressiveness is so impressive. he brings a very fun energy to the role

the church on ruby road has me feeling a bit mixed as well. the plot was kind of meh, and i didn't like how in the alternate universe ruby's mum was just so mean without her. it didn't make sense. like what makes ruby so special, hm 🤨 what's this one white blond baby got that all the other babies in the world don't 🤨 i know the point was to show how much ruby meant to her mum, but like. there are other ways to do it than have a complete 180 in characterization.

i'm honestly not super interested in the mystery of ruby's parentage (which apparently seems like it will be a huge thing unless they're just making stuff up to fake us out, in which case, good on them). but i don't want it to be some big reveal i'm sorry 😩 especially not because if it is, people will bend over backwards to say how great storytelling it is when they'd never say that if moffat did a plot like this. i hadn't even considered the possibility really, when i'd first watched it, i thought it's just not that deep, but maybe i'm wrong. the people who are theorizing that ruby is rose and tentoo's daughter are sooo funny though like

This isn’t Aidan related but I just needed to get something off my chest and I felt like I could trust you with it. You’re free to judge me, in fact I judge myself too. As someone who’s been in fandoms for like 15 years now, whenever I’ve been crushing on an irl person and not a character, I’ve never been able to feel “happy” for them when they have a partner. I get so jealous. I keep thinking “what does this woman have that I don’t” and it’s killing me. And I can’t even mention this to other people because they, obviously, judge me. I’m not proud of this and I wish I could change it. But I get super jealous and start comparing myself to that woman and it fucks my mental health up. Oh, I'm not going to judge you for this anon, because I understand it. I've always felt like people who are really, really, into someone and want them in that way, and then say they are happy for that person when that person is in love with someone else, either maybe didn't want them as bad as they thought, or is lying a little bit. To everyone else as well as themselves. And that goes for celebs or irl crushes.

That's not to say I don't want happiness for Aidan, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't terribly jealous. With that being said, I have too much respect for him to ever say anything negative about his partner in case he saw it (my blog is like the top Aidan blog on here now so it wouldn't be hard) or, if I were in a position to do such a thing, try to break him up with his partner.

What I don't get, is when it's someone irl, no one cares if you hate your crush's girlfriend/boyfriend. They seem to totally understand it and will even participate in the partner-bashing with you, but the second you do it over a celebrity, people jump to attack you. That's just so weird to me because celebrities are completely out our reach, so who really gives a fuck if we hate their partners? With real life crushes it's actually much more possible to cause harm with jealousy and hatred.

ok where do I even start with the last few chapters because they were absolutely beautiful. Driftmark was by far my favorite episode in the series and seeing it come to life was so fun. Daemon’s constant inner thoughts being so obsessed and crazed wirh seeing Aesira again (normally I wouldn’t freak out but this is hotd…) and Alicent’s little conversation with Aesira before she sees her father again ❤️ I love Alicent with all my heart and seeing her as this mother figuire to Aesira is so touching to me, that’s the daughter she always wanted.

Poor Damy! He did not deserve anything, he just wanted to defend his cousin/best friend and got hurt in the proccess, praying he wakes up. Also! Go my Queen ✨✨ Aesira standing up and taking the blame because she thinks that she has to do everything and puts everyone above her, she is literally the walking definition of eldest daughter syndrome. The whole chapter was so refreshing. And of course, Aegon and Aesira’s little walk was so sweet (well until we came across Daemon and Rhaenyra…) I feel like you capture Daemon really well. He is a character who is so slimy but also so interesting to watch and read about. DAEMON AND SIRA TALKING FOR THE FIRST TIME!? AESIRA TALKING SO BOLDLY YO RHAENYRA! MY LITERAL WIFE IS NOW AESIRA! (Villian arc whennn! Also I’m so excited for her to see Daemon again, when do you think that will happen? My guess is Ep8 in the Dinner scene. Which was again one of my fav episodes because everyone is toghter and I’m so excited to see the twins during that since along with Damy) my favorite chapter as of now.

I am aware of how distant Viserys and Aegon are and I loathe Viserys but seeing Viserys tell him everythung and be with him does warm my heart. With Aegon knowing the prophecy, the story is slowly changing and favoring the greens more because Aegon seems more prepare and with how much he is studying, he is slowly moving along with Kingly duties and will definitely be a better king. I am literally so excited to enter the Dance part. With s2 almost ending, I am quite disappointed with how it ended but I am really eager to see your twist on it and see Aesira become a major player and be more cunning and politically motivated.

ALSO A NEW ADRIAN STORY!? my inner child was so happy when I read the chapter. Celina already stole my heart and I already relate fo her as a person to such a deep level. i hope you don’t mind if I ask two questions 😭 I was thking how old Aesira, Aether and Aegon are currently and since they were 13 when the TargArryns came back and two years have passed, they are 15? I’m kinda confused because Aesira has recently jusr bled and girl’s usually bleed When they are like 12-13? Unless she is a late bloomer ofc. And my second question (feel free to ignore this one) but when I usually read or watch something and I like it, I usually search up the character’s personality to grasp a better sense of them. I would love to read a proper description of the TargArryn’s personalities.

yes!! aesira will meet daemon again when lucerys's position as heir is questioned by vaemond velaryon. the dinner scene will be another chapter i'm so excited to fully write, the outline is still all over the place.

ngl, s2 truly disappointed me and it pushes me to put aesira in this civil war more than ever. aegon hearing the prophecy from his father is the catalyst for him to be better, not just for his position in the realm but also for his family. the only downside in viserys telling the dream to aegon is him being not clear enough why the prophecy is so important--he only says that to make sure their legacy remains.

chat noir may have been one of my crushes when i was in middle school dhjfeh i have that idea for so long already, ever since s3-5 have been released bc what the hell did they do to my boy?!?! he deserves some healthy relationship fr and i want to give that to him at the start of the story. celine is also my baby; she will be inspired by so many experiences i've had while going through middle and high school. stay tuned for more chapters on that fic !!!

the older kids in family line are all 15 going 16. aesira is a late bloomer. and i admit i gave her that luxury bc it was stated in the previous chapters that she will be engaged to aegon the moment she bleeds.

oooooh the targ-arryns' personalities. hmm, let's see:

aesira targaryen -- she is a pragmatic person. having lost her mother, abandoned by her father, and made into a mother to a newborn baby--all at the age of 5, she adapted this mentality that she needs to grow up quickly despite having an older twin brother to shoulder an equal weight of responsibility. she is the type of person who really puts others over herself but recognizes a situation where she needs to puts herself first rather than others. she also knows when to protect herself, to hide her emotions from others. ig the nearest personality i can associate her with is the zodiac sign cancer. she has strong intuition and knows how to handle situations by thinking of various outcomes.

aether targaryen -- loves loves loves to rile people up. he is described as a younger version of daemon targaryen by some of the smallfolk who encountered him (something he wouldn't want tbh). buuuut he is selfless when it comes to his immediate family, his twin sister and baby brother. with years of growing up with aesira, he has always known that it will be his sister who holds the titles, being a future princess. so, he never expects to be given a similar heavy position (heir of the vale). despite parading himself as a confident individual, he is insecure, stemming from his trauma with his father. even tho he is twins with aesira, he is more of a leo tbh--passionate, loyal, and incredibly dramatic. he embraces the roles he is given like he is born to do it.

daemian targaryen -- the baby of the family. he is still young so his personality hasn't fully been grasped. for now, he is the sunshine of his brood of siblings. when he's with others, he's usually quiet, especially the time when rhaenyra's children is still training with them in king's landing. he prefers aemond's company when he's with others, seeing as his real best friend is in oldtown. he is also apprehensive more than anyone, one example is his view on aegon stealing his sister away from their side of the family. he treasures his attachment to his siblings more than anything. his role in the dance will be equal to that of daeron's.

riose. he/him, half-drow, necromancer warlock, acolyte backstory. one level in cleric of eilistraee for roleplaying

riose is a follower of eilistraee and a bleeding heart pacifist, which ties into his necromancy - he sees utilizing the dead, whose souls have since moved on, as a way to preserve the lives of the living by allowing them to replace living fighters in events where combat can't be avoided. he believes strongly in protecting life, no matter how questionable the person is, unless killing is absolutely necessary. which is how he immediately got killed by a mindflayer. and then again by a vampire a few nights later. honestly he's more of an accidental menace to the party than my actual selfish chaotic characters. oops!

his charisma is dogshit, so despite trying so desperately for pacifism he's accidentally caused way more conflict than most of my other tavs. he's really struggling out here. also only being half-drow means he doesn't get the inherent differential treatment characters like xun'e get, which bypasses goblin aggression, but people still give him shit for being half drow

his life fucking sucks

anyway i'm still working on his background - i want to give him a human parent and a drow parent in a way that's potentially actually interesting and not just some stupid or shitty bullshit, and thinking about how he eventually came to the church of eilistraee. i'm having trouble settling on anything, though, especially incorporating the necromancy thing - where does a good character generally even learn necromancy? i don't imagine there are necromantic books just sitting around, so i think a reformed villain parent would be fun...(make it the human parent contrasting to the actually pretty normal drow parent? could be funny)

but anyway everyone except for wyll and karlach hates him. he's off-putting and is trying really hard not to be That Guy but is having a difficult time not bringing up his religion constantly and wanting to pray for people. though it's almost circled around to being sort of endearing and at least he's useful as a ridiculously tall meat shield. with low strength bc he's a wizard

the out of universe reason for joy only resisting the urge is that even when doing my best to be mean i don't want to kill any of my companions. the in-universe reason is that they initially just really wanted to see someone turn into a mindflayer bc they thought it sounded cool as hell

though obviously they don't have much of a history of being friends or allies to people, they become rather enamored with having a posse and become very indulgent toward their allies. well, the allies who remained after they slaughtered the grove that is

while they do indulge the urge most times the dialogue options allow me to, they're not necessarily that evil outside of that - if the urge isn't particularly calling for blood they're weirdly capable of being relatively chill, though still an asshole. (they gave the prisoner in the goblin camp and healing potion and let him go. after torturing him a lot first for no reason, of course, but still)

hilariously shadowheart initially HATED them and told them they were only good as a meatshield. eventually she warmed up to them. somehow. lae'zel thinks they're too indulgent and chaotic but minthara thinks they're alright at least

though joy did become besties with astarion, joy was drawn towards gale, who talked a lot of shit when joy killed alfira but then sure was weirdly ok with it when joy thought about kissing him during their moment in the weave (honestly the kissing thought was mostly to avoid projecting the immediately obvious thoughts about dismemberment, and joy is trying not to threaten their friends! honest!)

and he didn't react to torturing that guy. and really didn't seem to mind joy biting another guy's toe straight off. and joy sees that dark streak of ambition and is delighted. and even after the slaughter at the grove, gale stays, and in the shadow-cursed lands he's even made comments about how attractive they look after a battle....they didn't even have to try to manipulate him or anything he's out here happily going down a corruption arc all by himself.

tbh i chickened out and initially decided that they'd resent sceleritas telling them what to do and have them not kill isobel but. well. i think i'm gonna go through and commit and get that slayer form. esp since jaheira kept fucking dying at moonrise no matter how hard i tried to keep her alive. we'll see if i have the willpower to have astarion and shart go down their bad character routes.

Your romance with Poe should have been one for the history books. The two of you joined the Resistance around the same time, and the first time you laid eyes on each other you felt that spark. It may not have been love at first sight, but it certainly didn't take long for a love to build. The two of you spent two happy years together and everyone, including you, thought you'd last forever. But then the war began to really pick up. Poe was sent on longer and longer missions ever more frequently while you were stuck at base, hoping, praying, that he was alright, that he would return to you. And he always did. After each mission, but especially successful ones, you found yourself in the cantina, Poe's arm around you, listening to the stories he told. He talked about the planets he saw, the people he got to know, and the risks he took. For some reason it never really occurred to you that those risks might one day lead to Poe being injured, or even dying. He had survived everything the universe threw at him, in your eyes he was immortal, until one day BB-8 rolled up to your work station, beeping frantically about Poe and the medbay. It wasn't that bad, a few broken bones, a fractured rip, and a cut on his shoulder that looked worse than it actually was. Nothing a night in a bacta tank wouldn't fix. It weren't the injuries that brought your blood to a boil but rather Poe's reaction. He didn't take them seriously, he didn't admit that he had been taking stupid risks all along and that one of them finally caught up to him. And you thought that maybe you could learn to love someone who wasn't Poe Dameron.

It took him a while, took a few near death experiences and a couple of good pilots not making it, for him to realise that maybe you had been right. He finally tried to be more careful, telling himself before each mission that he'd just have to get through this and then he could ask you to be his again. In his mind it wasn't as much a breakup as a break until he got his head right. Now imagine his surprise when he heard talk around base that you had moved on. There was no label on what you and the mechanic were, many thought the two of you were just friends, but Poe had to know, asking you was a risk he would have to take, even if it led to a broken heart. So one night he gathered his courage and knocked on your door. You opened it without thought, expecting a friend or one of your superiors. But to your surprise it was none other than Poe Dameron. He didn't give you time to speak before he asked a question you knew would haunt your dreams. "Why do you guys hang out so much now?" You knew that he was really asking if you had moved on, if you loved the mechanic like you had loved Poe once upon a time. You invited him in, told him to sit down. The room was familiar, it was the same room the two of you had shared when you had been together, and it broke Poe to imagine you in this room, in this bed, with someone else. You could basically feel the hurt and worry radiating off of him, so you told him everything. How you had been hurting, how you had tried to move on, how you had finally found a way to be okay with Poe leaving and risking his life every other day. What you didn't tell him was that you still loved him, that he held a piece of your heart in the palm of his hand that could never belong to another. But as Poe begged for another chance, told you that he was sorry and that he loved you over and over again, you managed to be strong, to not give in. It was for the best. You couldn't spend your entire life worrying about Poe, and he had to concentrate on killing bad guys and not getting killed in the process without being distracted by thoughts of you. "Let's talk when all this is over, okay?" Your words reassured Poe a tiny bit, told him that there was still hope and that maybe he hadn't been replaced by the mechanic. You shared a kiss full of longing, love, and hope. A kiss that was supposed to signal a new chapter in your relationship, even though you wouldn't read it for some time. Neither of you had expected it to be your last kiss, because only days later the First Order found your base while most squadrons were away on missions, leaving you with little to no defense, and killed everyone inside. Poe returned days later, only to find you dead in the bed the two of you had once shared.

- "Hey come on man, it's alright." Jared told him. "I mean I guess my cousin met someone in the psych ward, so I guess it's not that weird or uncommon."

- Connor's pace slowed.

- "Your cousin?"

- "Yeah," Jared replied, "My Aunt Shell's daughter, she's uh," he rubbed his neck awkwardly, unsure of how to talk about this, "she's in the teen psychiatric center right now. I guess she met some boy there."

- Connor wondered, and he stopped walking.

- "What's her name?" His voice but quiet but firm he needed to know if it was her.

- "Huh? Oh, my cousin? Y/N." Jared answered. "Her mom's getting divorced so they're moving in with us for awhile. She starts school here next week."

- Connor couldn't help the blush that came to his face or that smile that continued to grow bigger and bigger as Jared spoke.

- Jared caught the look on Connor's face. And it only took a second for him to piece it all together.

Counting the days the love of your life would arrive home, you prepare yourself and the home you share by keeping busy. Cleaning every nook and cranny, and once more for good measure. It kept you distracted from the painstaking wait, so you didn't mind. You sigh to yourself as you dust off a shelf that was already dusted three times today. You were anxiously waiting for Childe to come back from one of his lengthy missions. He sent word that he would be coming back soon, but you still worried nonetheless.

You desperately wanted him in your arms, safe and sound. Folding a pile of clothes and placing them in the drawers in front of you, you heard the front door open. I'm just glad you're back home," you place another kiss to both sides of his cheek, your warm lips causing his heart to flutter and his face grow warm. You continue placing gentle kisses to his nose and hands. You feel him suck in his breath each time, relishing each kiss, melting with each gentle placement. 

You place one final kiss to his lips, he takes you in wholly, wrapping his arms around your waist bringing the two of you closer. The two of you break away, both panting you say, "I love you."

"I love you too, Y/N," he whispers breathless before you crash your lips down on his once more.

Kaeya:

● Kaeya is always playful with you. He's always planning the best dates when the two of you have time between work. He always surprises you with flowers, or a picnic. He's a true romantic. He also always knows what to do when you've had a bad day. He's one for spontaneous outings, though he'll never be opposed to a night indoors, sharing a bottle of cider as the two of you talk about your day.

You had just gotten home from a mission. Exhaustion was setting in, but you knew Kaeya would be home late. On days like this Kaeya would always remark how he didn't have time to eat dinner and would even be too tired to eat when he got home. You pushed past your exhausted state, determined to stop by the Knights Hall to drop him off dinner, ensuring he takes a break to himself.

Wrapping up the meal you had prepared for him, you smile to yourself, "This came out pretty well!" you had gotten together his favorites, made with the freshest ingredients, a delicious fruity skewer being one of the items you carefully made. 

You made your way through the streets of Mondstadt, waving at passerbys and greeting them with a small bow. You were well known in the city and people looked up to you as much as they did with the Honorary Knight. As an adventurer, you always took pride in helping the citizens of Mondstadt no matter what the problem was. 

As you neared the Knights hall you heard your name being called, "Y/N! It's good to see you! I'm assuming you're here to pay Kaeya a visit?" You turn around to be met with a beautiful, tall, ash blonde woman. She carried herself with confidence and grace.

"Hi Master Jean! Yeah, I'm here to drop off some dinner for him," You smile brightly.

"He's going to love it. I'll take you to him," She responded escorting you to his office. 

As you approached his office door, your heart started to pound. He still made your heart race even thinking about him. Jean placed a gentle hand on your shoulder and gave you a knowing look before nodding and turning away to get back to her duties. Reaching upwards you gentle knocked on the door in front of you, the only barrier in your way.

A quiet, tired voice responded, "Come in if you must. . ." you heard rustling of papers before walking in. You frowned, hoping that seeing you would brighten his day. Softly opening the door you stepped in, his dinner clutched to your chest. His tired eye lit up at the sight of you and he smiled in surprise.

"Seeing you was just what I needed, Y/N," His voice rang in your ears like silk, soft and gentle. 

You fidget slightly in embarrassment, you cheeks turning pink before responding, "I-I missed you, so I brought you some dinner," you place the neatly wrapped box on his desk. Deciding he needed a break, you took a seat on his lap, "Plus you need to take a break sometimes"

"Oh?" He raised an eyebrow at you playfully, fully accepting the fact you're sitting in his lap.

"Yes!" You exclaim, placing both of your hands softly on each side of his cheeks. You press your forehead against his, "You need to take care of you sometimes too. . ." You whisper, placing a soft kiss to the tip of his nose.

Kaeya was taken aback, though his eye softened, "I was afraid I missed an important date, but knowing now I didn't and you came to visit me because you were worried. . .makes me happy," you quiet him down another kiss.

You start showering him with small little pecks, along his jaw line, his forehead, cheeks. He embraces each and every gentle kiss, never wanting this moment to end. Leaning down again you place a warm kiss to his eyepatch and murmur, "I love you Kaeya. ." 

Not expecting that he pulls away for a brief moment, stunned. Your kiss was so gentle. . .no one but you could show him that amount of love and care that you do, "I love you too, Y/N. . .so much." He snakes his hands into your hair, pulling you against his lips.

It was his turn now to show you how much he loves you.
