Raichu is an absolute cutie, a sunshine on earth and nothing can convince me otherwise

So yeah, I think Raichu and Flint are very close ! Raichu would rush to Flint everytime he comes over at Volkner's place haha ! I think Raichu also gets along with everyone in Flint's team ! I think Raichu can be kinda clingy in the way that he likes climbing on Volkner and Flint haha, and so one day I checked how much he weights and boy, 30kg sure is a lot alskdkzkd, he may be heavy but that's not stopping him

Electivire really likes Flint too, I'll probably share more about that one day ! The thing is, he's got beef with Magmortar. They've known each other for very long and yet still bicker haha

Jolteon and Flareon are the opposite, they go along suuuuper well ! I think they would look at their trainers with puppie eyes when it's time for them to separate, they can't get enough of playing with each other.

Luxray's just sleeping in any case, better not bother him XD

• About the sketch of Flint taking a picture of Volkner and Raichu :

-The idea came to me after that one event in pokemas when Lear and Gholdengo came out with Lear wanting to be sent like 100 photos representing the link between trainers and their partner or something

-I like to think Volkner got a real soft spot for Raichu haha (well also his other mons and electrik types in general to be fair) so he can be very affectionate with him, I don't think anyone would get to see too much of that in public but if it's just Flint here it wouldn't matter much XD

-I don't think Flint would often take random pics of Volkner like that but he probably thought this is like a perfect moment to take a pic for Lear's event. I mean look at how sweet him and Raichu look together ! Such a nice exemple of a close bond between trainer and pokemon !

-Unfortunately I also like to think that Volkner doesn't like much having photos taken of him without warning haha. Kinda comes from that one pokespe moment where you see Shauntal got a pic of him but he's hiding his face haha !

-I think he'd be fine with photos depending on the situation tho, like if I remember correctly he was in a photo in his new year event in pokemas and he seemed super chill with that ! I think he likes it with friends or when he is in a good mood XD But most certainly not an unprepared one like that ansksk

So, here's the thing. Arven doesn't mean to be a dickhead most of the time.

Emphasis on the 'most of the time' part.

That said, when he sees you battling the titan Clawf with just a little puppy that looks a little too familiar, his mind is sent barreling painfully back to Area Zero where a monstrously large pokemon hurt his puppy.

Yes, Mabosstiff wasn't exactly a puppy then, but...well Mabosstiff will always be a puppy in Arven's heart.

He doesn't mean to lash out at you in the cave.

"What the fuck were you thinking back there?" He yells at you as he angrily prepares the sandwiches.

You're taken aback. "I'm sorry. What?"

"Bringing a baby pokemon like that up against Clawf? She could have gotten really hurt! You need to be careful!"

You get defensive quickly. "My maschiff is great in battle. I'd say we fared better than you and your shellder by a long shot. Besides, you asked me to come help you! I'm new at this. It's not like I've got a bunch of grown pokemon ready to throw into the fray!"

Arven grumpily finishes up the food.

"Take your pokemon out of the ball."

"What?!" You reach for Maschiff's ball defensively, not quite sure what he's getting at.

"Just!" He calms himself. "Just. Let me make sure she's okay. ...Please?"

He seems genuine enough, so you let your little maschiff out of her ball and take her up in your arms. She wriggles happily and yips snappily at Arven.

He softens when he sees her. "Can I...?" He holds his arms out as if to take her from you. You instead put her down on the floor of the cave.

Arven gets on his knees and holds his hands out to her.

"Hi, baby... Hello little buddy..." He sounds so... heartbroken and lost. You feel like you're intruding upon something.

It truthfully makes you uncomfortable, but you're not quite sure what to say about it.

Arven reaches up onto the picnic table and grabs one of the sandwiches he made, tearing off a little piece.

He looks to you.

"Can I..?"

You nod.

"Here, little buddy!" He offers her the snack which she gladly takes.

Your dragon then also makes itself known, popping out of its PokeBall and thoroughly tearing Arven from whatever semblance of a happy mood he'd had being near your puppy.

You leave him in the cave alone, more confused about...his whole deal the than ever.

-

Things fall a bit more into place after your fight with Bombirdier. He introduces you to Mabosstiff, and it clicks.

"I'm sorry about before..." He tells you softly as he strokes his dog's soft fur. "I just... I saw your girl, and... I saw him..." He leans in and hugs his boy gently.

You bring out Maschiff to see her elder. She initially starts off in puppy mode, ready to hop on Mabosstiff and play, but she quickly calms when she senses his distress. Instead she curls up at his side and whimpers quietly for him.

He doesn't react, and while it doesn't surprise you, it certainly breaks your heart.

-

You work more consistently with Arven from there on out to continue finding the herbs. Each time he brings Mabosstiff out to eat, you bring out Maschiff, who soon also becomes Mabosstiff in her own right.

She stays near him always when he's out of his pokeball, ready to defend him as needed.

-

When the two of you finally take down the false dragon and get Mabosstiff his final bit of medicine, it's the five of you that rejoice together, Raidon included, of course.

-

Arven never really enjoys battling, and there's always a part of him that panics a bit when he has to throw Mabosstiff into the ring. That anxiety extends in some ways to you and your Mabosstiff, too, but it doesn't stop him from thoroughly celebrating all of your victories and helping patch you both up.

Truth be told, he's really proud to see your Mabosstiff with her champion rank title ribbon. He just...gets nervous.

please recommend some asmr channels 🙏

ok i'm going to assume you're familiar with the big names like goodnight moon (big favourite), latte, tingting and ppomo. if not...get the hell on youtube.

i almost exclusively listen to female voiced roleplays so that's going to be really obvious here.

one of my favourite channels i've ever found is moonlight cottage asmr. her voice is beautiful, intelligent and a little bit more mature and the french accent just hits. her historical videos are compelling, you can tell they're passion projects and she is quite an actress.

another definite recommend is ALB in whisperland. she has a gentle voice, her soft speaking is so good, and she has a lot of videos where she delicately does things with her beautiful hands, which i like a lot.

some more in no particular order:

-aen ani asmr. i feel like she's so underrated. she mainly does fantasy roleplays in costumes and the channel is still a bit small so you have a good chance of getting a reply or your request being included in a video. it's not like, insanely polished and high production value but i like it.

-asmr mood. speaks russian but many are subtitled in english. oftentimes has fanservice and is one of the few asmrtists (on my list, maybe even in general) who usually presumes the viewer as male. i don't care about it but it means there's no makeup videos (which i find boring). and as i've said before, when the russian language k and t sounds come out in asmr i... no, i shan't say.

-amy kay asmr. pretty much exclusively roleplays and usually has interesting concepts (ie not the 5 millionth makeup and cranial nerve exam). confident and charismatic and is a bit more peppy in the way she speaks rather than the, like, pure bedtime voices.

-eunzel asmr. korean with english subs + english spoken videos. roleplays, also weird and odd triggers. i've rewatched both of her "doctor asking you insanely personal questions" videos many times.

-bluewhisper. first asmr video i ever watched was her (sadly quickly deleted) "rescuing harambe" video which got screenshotted and i think gave her a lot of negative attention because her sense of humour is playing it completely straight and people are obsessed with being smarter than the person being ironic. she does simple roleplays, vlogs, flips through the new burpee seed catalog once a year for her garden and opens pokemon cards.

-seafoam kitten asmr. if you remember the "adorable organ harvester uwu asmr" screenshot going around, that's her. she does weird, cringe-humour roleplays. she also has a slightly risque one where you get indoctrinated into being a "love pet" puppy which i think would do numbers on here.

-myaling asmr. english with korean accent. mostly long roleplays, very sweet voice and puts great effort into having a lot of props, background detail etc. often has cinematic intros which i love. her "aesthetic school outfit styling" has probably my favourite intro scene i've ever seen in asmr.

-callie blossom asmr. she's strikingly beautiful and has a "girl who's secretly obsessed with you" series that is very popular with lesbians for good reason.

-maya winky asmr. silly, fast paced humour asmr. i feel bad not saying more but like just look at her channel lol

-mid mod meridian asmr. american accent. older lady who does 50s, 60s and 70s themed roleplays. not to be like aww sweet grandma but. yeah.

-ella asmr. korean with english subs. a lot of scifi themed videos with special effects, surgery on you and mechanical equipment sounds.

-whispering willow asmr. nice, simple, basic roleplays, usually in the 20-30 min range. i like when videos aren't too long because i usually clock out after 5 minutes anyway.

-african xhosa asmr. criminally underrated. she speaks and has a few videos teaching phrases in xhosa, a south african language with clicks that i've never even heard before. also talks about history and culture often.

-90sfairyasmr. relatively new channel with not too many videos, she mostly flips through y2k/1990s teen magazines so far.

-asmr emiko ffujio. no talking, but has cool slimes and fake cooking.

-gentle whispering asmr. a very big channel, russian accented. i like her voice and soft speaking a lot but her topics tend to bore me a bit. it's generally beauty focused.

-triniti j asmr. american accent. i havent watched a lot of hers because they're usually beauty focused, but for example in the "best friend picks out your smell goods" she gets really close to the mic and chews gum which creates a speaking sound i like a lot. idk how to describe it lol

-pelagea asmr. doesn't upload on youtube anymore but a lot of backlog. mostly more or less fanservicey videos that get a bit unintentionally silly and too much sometimes. i mainly recommend her "100 ways to kiss" video with the lesbian bait thumbnail that got her 13 million views.

Today I learnt that "canoodling" is an actual word, the more you know! But here's a small short N centred story, as a treat

Tattletale

Tiny feet patter against the cold flooring of the hallway, she couldn't have been more than seven years old at the time. Sneaking into their father's laboratory with a bag tucked tight into their chest, her father was out doing some grown up stuff, giving her the opportunity.

She fiddled with the keypad on a door within the lab, he has been in the lab when her father had entered the code, remembering it for later. When she finally manages to enter the code in after some considerable struggle due to being little and the keypad being so far up, they managed to get in. He leaves a crack open so she can sneak back out when they enter the room.

A long hallway with three segments, one of fire, one of water, and one of grass; this is where father keeps all the starter Pokemon for new trainers. A Fennekin notices his presence and trills loudly, N runs over with a finger up against their lips. "Shh! Daddy doesn't know I'm here!" A Chikorita rubbing into his side, N giggles, "Hey! That tickles!"

One by one all the starters toddle over to play with the young child. A Litten grooming her hair, an Oshawott showing off it's shell with pride as she claps their hands with glee. A Cyndaquil showing off it's powerful flames and a Popplio creates a water show for the child. A Snivy questions them, "Oh! Z's covering for me! I'm sorry she couldn't be here." N mumbles, the tips of her fingers pressed together.

The Fennekin noticeably deflates, but a Squirtle sprays it with a water gun. "Hey! That's not nice!" N pouts, "Apologise!" The two Pokemon pause, then mumble apologises to each other in order to not upset the young one. A Totodile and Tepig roughhouse distantly in the background, before the Tepig loses balance and rolls into N, she giggles and picks up the Pokemon.

"Daddy says that you'll be going to a new trainer soon! Are you excited?" The Tepig thrashes about in glee, snorting in happiness. Tepig had been one of the longer residents in the lab along with Chikorita and Chespin, nobody ever wants to pick them, N doesn't understand why... But somebody does now! That's so exciting! N's excited for her friend to go out and make new friends and memories.

Behind him both Litten and Sprigatito growl and hiss at each other, fighting for whoever gets to groom the child's hair. "Why can't you both do it?" They mewl a sound of annoyance in response, not settling on a peaceful stand. A Rowlet takes advantage of the situation and makes itself comfortable inside N's hair. "Is it comfy in there?" The Rowlet trills happily in response, N silently giggles.

A Chimchar muses N about what's in the bag, "Oh! Yeah!" She unzips the bag, an overabundance of berries fall out, all seemingly collected from the garden under her father's nose. The Pokemon all cheer gleefully while N tries to shush them with a dopey smile on their face, all feasting on the berries the little one had brought, grabbing a pecha berry or two to snack on herself.

They play around to the early hours of the morning, N breaks away from the Pokemon, peeking out of the crack in the door to make sure it's clear. She turns back to the Pokemon, "Remember! Don't tell daddy I was here! Okay?" The Pokemon all make a noise of agreement and N sneaks back out, silently closing the door and sneaking back to his room.

What N was unaware about was the fact that there were of course cameras in the starter room, Ghetsis was already aware of his child's little escapades of the night and turns a blind eye to it. Rewatching the footage of his child playing with the Pokemon happily whenever something happens to test his mood and he needs to remind himself that there is good in humans.

Long Day, Long Night

Midnight. Not a rare time for Kyle to see. His days often ended closer to 1-2 AM even on a good day. But today, Kyle had effectively done... next to nothing. Slept for several hours, even. The missed day of his medication was hell on his body and it showed. At least he had a few fun things to do. Low energy games. Watching video essays. Possibly a combination.

Mama perked up the moment he stood to move to his office setup. A reasonably good gaming PC setup for his income. Good enough to play some of the higher end games that came out as of late. Not like its owner was in the mood for those focus-intensive experiences anyway. He'd taken his night medication and just needed to pass the time before it kicked in. Just a few puzzles, and--

BRRRZZZZZT!

A pause. His Poryphone was ringing. But... he didn't expect a call. Not so late, and not from anyone he recognized. The number was from another region entirely.

BRRRZZZZZT!

Normally he'd block unknown numbers. Normally. But... something was off. Normally the caller ID would tag any suspicious numbers. But it was... just a normal number. From Unova, but still. It could have been a wrong number.

BRRRZZZZZT!

He'd give it a chance. Worst case scenario, it'd just be a quick misunderstanding to pass over. No big deal.

BRRRZZZ-- Beep! Kyle tapped to pick up the line and put the phone to his ear.

"Hello?"

As the call began, Chitters hopped her way up next to her trainer and under his free hand with a trill. But contrary to her expectations? He didn't start petting.

His eyes went wide. Fist clenched. Something was suddenly wrong. Very, very wrong.

"Wh-- YOU!?" Kyle's voice cracked as he yelled in shock, waking the other Pokemon as he did. "How the hell did you get this number?"

Lychee bounced her way up onto the desk next to Kyle's hand. Silvie was... confused. Why was human being loud? Was something wrong? Mama knew. Mama knew something was wrong.

"You-- No, don't talk over me. Don't talk--" Another voice was barely audible on the other side of the call. A woman's voice. Stern. Angry. Demanding. Chitters crawled up Kyle's sleeve as Lychee attempted to grab at his hand. It pulled up to pet at the Bounsweet's head.

"What? No. No, I--" The voice was interrupting. Incessant.

"Please, can you just let me-- MOM." His voice raised, both in volume and pitch. Any voice training was out the window in the moment. Mama pawed at Kyle's side to try and pull his attention back away. Something was wrong. She couldn't let her human deal with it. Not alone, at least. Chitters was on the same page, prodding at Kyle's cheek with a foreleg. An act that just garnered a scritch from his free hand. No further attention.

"Mom, you're not-- No. NO. Mom, I am NOT a little girl! I'm not a GIRL! You do NOT get to call me your DAUGHTER after everything." His voice raised further, attempting to break through the ramblings on the other end of the line. Lychee attempted to press her head against Kyle's arm, but he turned in his seat away from her as she did so. Simple bad timing.

"No, I-- I don't have the energy for-- Mom. MOM." The Flareon now in front of Kyle put her paws up onto his lap. Silvie padded her way to her mama's side and squeaked out a little confused mewl. She didn't know what was going on.

"CAN YOU LET ME GET TWO FUCKING WORDS IN!? I-- NO!" The Pokemon in the room furthered their attempts to get their owner's attention. To pull him away from the emotional threat. None of which worked, at least not fully.

"THAT'S NOT MY FUCKING NAME ANYMORE AND YOU KNOW IT! IT'S KYLE. K-Y-L-E. I AM A BOY. I HAVEN'T GONE BY THE NAME YOU GAVE ME IN FIVE YEARS NOW!" His voice was in a full shout now. Tears began running down his cheeks. Whatever was going on in this conversation, it was hitting him hard. Silvie backed away in fear. Mama noticed and fled to comfort her. The emotion in the room was nothing but tense.

"NO. FUCK OFF. You are getting NOTHING from me. You are NOT getting Dad's number. You are NOT going to call this number again. And if you come ANYWHERE near me, I-- NO. SHUT UP. SHUT THE FUCK UP! I'M DONE. I'M FUCKING DONE WITH YOU. YOU'VE DONE NOTHING BUT TRY TO GET BACK IN BED WITH DAD FOR THE PAST YEAR AND YOU REFUSE TO FUCKING CHANGE. I'm done. I'M FUCKING DONE." Even Chitters had jumped off at this point. Her owner's mood had gone sour far faster than anyone could think. The voice on the line only got a couple more words in before being interrupted again.

"NO YOU ARE FUCKING NOT. YOU DO NOT HAVE ANY POWER OVER ME OR DAD ANYMORE. You are NOT to call this number again. FUCK. OFF. LEAVE THE BOTH OF US ALONE." A shrieked expletive sounded from the phone before Kyle hung up. His hands shook. His heart raced. This was the last fucking thing he needed.

And in a moment of weakness, a moment of lack of control, he threw the phone into the mountain of plushies on his bed. A Vibrava plush fell off to the side from the impact. He stood up from his office chair, stepped over... and faceplanted into bed. The flump of impact knocked another couple plushies loose.

A sob escaped his throat.

With the anger turning to grief, all of the Pokemon in the room approached once more. An attempt to comfort their trainer. Their friend. Mama brought Silvie onto the bed by his arm. Chitters nestled into his hair. Lychee sat by his face to give off her pleasant smells. Mama pulled herself up into bed and warmed up against Kyle's back.

More sobs left Kyle's throat as he clutched Lychee in his arms.

Not a single word was spoken the rest of the night. Only the sounds of a family of Pokemon worried for their trainer. Trying to help their friend feel better. Feel safe.

This was going to be a long night.

and now a GAMEPLAY UPDATE from yesterday...

MORE POKEDEX COMPLETION BABEY whoops i uploaded these totally out of order but it doesn't really matter. after getting the surf HM from cynthia's grandma, instead of progressing to canalave city i backtracked through every location in the game where i could surf and unless i forgot something i've now picked up every item, caught every pokemon, and fought every trainer in all currently accessible locations before iron island? if i'm forgetting anywhere rest in peace i guess

worth noting that on the route i caught that gastrodon, i was just going for the 5% tentacruel but i somehow ran into the 1% gastrodon on the same route TWICE before i found a single tentacruel. that was wack lol. and also the pelipper was a 1% below sandgem town, and i didn't feel like grinding for the 1% as it was towards the end of my play session yesterday and i was tired, so i caught a level 30 wingull on the same route and exp share'd it on some wild mons for a bit until it evolved. close enough SFDKFSD

i did eventually make it to canalave, i got the gender difference upgrade to my dex in the route connector into canalave and it seems it's not just cynthia, Everyone is kinda opening their eyes to Hmm this is concerning... oh and i defeated barry, found out my team is pretty weak into fighting types but that's my bad LOL

i unfortunately did not take any more pictures while exploring yesterday because i was focused on my call but that's okay i had a good time

i will say that last night i went to check out the belt dude for the first time and he wanted a pokemon that was level 80... something, i don't remember, but obviously i do not have a pokemon even close to that high so i wasn't able to grab the black belt. today he wanted a level 39 pokemon though, and my luxray was literally 2 EXP away from leveling to 39, so i walked back outside the house, defeated a single wild pokemon, walked back inside and got the black belt LOL

anyway today i checked all my honey trees, still no munchlax... it's not like i expect the munchlax, i know i'll be at this for a long time, i don't even know which four trees are my munchlax trees, BUT whenever i do get it i will pop the fuck off.

it's also worth mentioning that i've been following the serebii daily events list for platinum since it's easy to check if i forgot everything, but serebii is missing one!! or kinda two depending on how you look at it. i realized this today. there's a guy in amity square who will give you an amity square accessory or berry everyday if you enter in from the right side and do a series of teleportations in the huts. there's also recurring items on the ground:

Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum introduced recurring Honey, in Floaroma Meadow. The Honey regenerates in one of the positions in which it was originally collected by the player, at a rate of two Honey per day. Some of the Star Pieces hidden in Iron Island regenerate daily. These games also featured a daily recurring Reaper Cloth, Rare Bone, or Stardust in Turnback Cave.

★  PREFERENCE OF COMMUNICATION: Discord is my go-to if you wanna reach me. I use Tumblr IMs too, though with how they're about as functional as a Bethesda game, I often ask if we can move over to DMs.

I've got my Discord tab open 24/7 on both my laptops, plus I have the app on my phone. I lurk a lot. But nine times outta ten, I'm more of a reactive replier, almost always messaging back rather than messaging first.

★  MOST ACTIVE MUSE: Kouki, always. Getting into the mood with him is so stupidly easy. Put on any rock music, think about any series, play a video game, whatever- and there's always something that makes me do that Leo pointing meme and think "Hey, that gives me ideas for that white-haired little gremlin!"

★  EXPERIENCE / HOW MANY YEARS: I've honestly lost track lmao. Ballpark estimate is 11-13 years since I started around 2010 to 2013, with my intro to roleplaying being those ancient Quotev quizzes and the chatroom website Chatzy. If I remember correctly, my first actual RP was either in a Sonic chatroom or a Naruto chatroom. And I've never even watched Naruto- I was going on nothing other than the Fandom Wiki. You could even say that my cringe-worthy OC there was the first iteration of Kouki. Only reason I still remember that chat was one of my writing partners died of some terminal illness. Basically drowned in her own blood.

After that, I moved here to Tumblr. It started with Pokemon blogs... then Steven Universe (where I saw them actively out-toxic the MLP fanbase and drive them out of the fanbase)... then I was the sole Soul Calibur roleplayer... then I made a Skyrim OC based on the Kid Dragonborn mod... then I fell back onto Naruto and joined the fanbase here with more cringy OCs... made my other, still on-going Pokemon blog about eight-ish years ago... joined the JJBA fandom, which was and still is the best fandom I ever joined... then I joined the RWBY fandom... then the BNHA fandom... and now we're here!

★  RP PET PEEVES:

I'm gonna cheat a bit and leave two of Bear's peeves, if only because he completely hits the nail on the head. There's just no better way to put it without rehashing things.

Excessive commentary blogging. Before it was just a lot of dash commentary that had me going 'eh'. But in recent years it's gone past that. I've become disenchanted with blogs that become largely commentary for whatever it is they're doing on Discord. All power to those Discord groups doing what they do! But it reaches a point for me that I don't really see them as indie, and it can feel insurmountable trying to interact with them if you're not entangled with their zig-zagging plotlines.

Blog hoppers. Because for a slow burner and long hauler like myself, they're the most impossible people to write with! Which is a shame, because a lot of the hoppers I come across do seem to have some writing talent to them!

Fandom RP events. When I was younger, I used to love the idea of these big events with their own plotlines and moving parts that anyone could participate in if they wanted to. Galas, holiday parties, festivals- stuff like that.

That lasted until 2018, when I kickstarted Bernadotte's original JJBA blog and brought back my long-running Pokemon blog. In the span of something like 5 months, eight separate RP events happened back-to-back in just the JJBA fandom alone. You can only try to participate and be entirely ignored for so long before it sours your whole outlook.

And I mean entirely. I remember writing twelve different starters that people asked for, responding to numerous open threads and starters, liking many different event starter calls, sending asks- the whole shebang. Not even once did I get anything back. If you enjoy fandom RP events, more power to you. But I've been burned too many times to even want to try.

★   PLOTS OR MEMES: Doesn't matter to me! Either way is great! Back in the day, I relied heavily on memes without any ideas for plot, just sending in whatever sounded like something my muse would say. Basically "Oops! All Memes!" Now? I put more thought into things. Overthink things too.

Receiving memes? I almost always ask if there was a reason or an idea driving my partners to send in that specific thing 'cause you never know, y'know? They usually do. But it really doesn't matter to me if they do or don't. I'm just happy to write with y'all.

★  ARE YOU LIKE YOUR MUSE(S)?: There's a little bit of me in every one of my muses! An example off the top of my head? Kouki is based on how I was as a kid his age. Corbin was inspired by my high school years, my love for old books and poetry, and my music tastes. My Pokemon OC was straight-up a self-insert when I started that blog. Tino came from my RWBY days and my absolute love for weaponry.

WHAT SPORTS DO YOU PLAY? I used to play soccer growing up, but I haven't played it in a long time. When I have the time/energy (which I haven't recently) I'll lift weights and do other casual exercises at home.

DO YOU USE SARCASM? Sometimes. Not as often as others. My brand of 'tism makes it difficult for me to tell when people are joking sometimes, and that includes sarcasm.

THREE FACTS

- I technically made one singular game sprite for a pokemon fangame when I was in highschool. - I really like ciphers. I blame Gravity Falls, genuinely. The one cipher I've never seem to get right is Affine. It uses two different algebraic equations and it frustrates me to no end that I was in advanced math classes but never could properly understand how to use those equations. Every now and again I try again anyway to understand. Affine's my mortal enemy and I will defeat her one day. - I own like thirty different Olaf related Things. As in the Frozen snowman, yes. My favorite is this off putting garden gnome you could only nab at Kmart. Here's a picture of one if you're curious on what it looks like. I love talking about him.

EXPERIENCE

HOW LONG - Since out of the womb. I'm...almost not kidding, preschool age I did a lot of "playing pretend" and it was usually as pokemon with this one other pokemon obsessed kid, and at the time I was really obsessed with Chatot. Otherwise, my brother really liked starting up larp sessions with his nerf toys well into 7th grade I want to guess. For text based roleplay I'd have to guess when I was about 10 or so - parents gave me early access to facebook and at that time undertale was really popular.

WHAT PLATFORMS - Facebook was my first one, and then after that was either deviantart or minecraft - I don't really recall. After that I went to discord for rps and eventually twitter, and now I write on here!

BEST EXPERIENCE - Discord was really good functions wise if that makes sense(the organization you can put into it seperate chatrooms themed roleplays stuff like that) but I think I met the wrong group of people - they had it drilled into me for a WHILE that writing characters from canons was the equivalent of stealing someone else's stuff and you deserved to be bashed for doing such. You could only ever write and make ocs. If you wanted to write a canon character they endorsed just using the guy as a faceclaim and using a different name though! Twitter was where I have met my current friend group, and that has to count for something I think. Tumblr's has been the best in terms of people though.

MUSE TYPE

FEMALE OR MALE - Males. I guess my favorite types of characters tend to be men? As a kid I always loved the neurodivergent coded nerds or those that said they just say they were inventors, scientists, journalists, etc, or those labelled as evil/villains. The media I watch typically have these guys be men.

FLUFF, ANGST, OR SMUT - if anyone comes to me anymore about writing smut i think I'd just block them on the spot. I think otherwise I tend to write angst over fluff - even though writing angst can make me worry more over not writing properly, if that makes sense.

PLOT OR MEMES - memes. 100%. I can plot if needed but once that's been done I find myself having a lot of anxiety about "doing it right" and it's worse with plotted dynamics - I think I rush them because I know the end goal is X thing. With memes I find myself a lot less worried - I go with the flow and just writing on instinct and find myself more focused on getting the reply done and what could happen in the future - maybe this, or this, or this.

LONG OR SHORT REPLIES - I find myself writing longer replies whether I want to or not. For others, though, I just want a length I can respond to - I never really want people to both trying to match my length.

BEST TIME TO WRITE - I'm at my computer and phone a lot, so I think I'm pretty flexible? It's moreso however the day goes for me, if I end up sick or if my mood is really low or if I'm just mentally exhausted. So I can't really say for certain. I do have more struggles when it's winter though - seasonal depression issues - so hopefully when summer comes about it won't be so severe.

ARE YOU LIKE YOUR MUSES? - Half of the time I don't like answering this - I don't like being told I'm just like my villain muses, my anxiety tries enough to convince me I'm a terrible person when I'm likely not, so for mental sanity I will be saying no in regards to those people. There's my other half of muses though that are like Stanford or Zane, that I'm a lot more comfortable with saying yes I am like them, even if just a little bit.

Year Summary #3

We're going with games today so without further ado!

The ones I've started and finished: 1. Pokemon Moon - Second/third time that I played it. I had started a save a long time ago, but I borrowed my 2DS to a dear friend of mine, so I just started everything from beginning. I enjoyed it as much as the first time actually, getting different Pokemon this time - or kind of? This is also where I discovered that tiny Pancham looks like Paul McCartney. Don't ask me from where I took it, but yeah. I named my Pancham Paul XD

2. Final Fantasy IX - I figured out that there has to be at least one Final Fantasy game during the year and this time it happened to be this one. Again, a replay, third fucking save. I had a new pc at that time, had to install Moguri again but you know. The worst was the fact that the old saves were gone, along with the one where I almost did everything in the time before the final boss. My first, almost complete save was gone, I was sad about that. That didn't discourage me tho, I played the game again, only to regret that I didn't use other names than default - it would be so fun, I have to do it next time. Anyway, I still love this game, I will gladly come back to it at any day really - crying at the end again, God, the credits song ;A;

3. Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc - I think this platformer will come back to the list of "play at least once a year". I love this games to bits, first platformer, my entire childhood and beginning of being a nerd is stored there - and again, Polish dub in this game is *chef's kiss*

4. Rayman Legends - replay after a few years and as much as I love the musical levels, the game itself is fun to certain point, I think halfway through, it gets kind of repetitive - or it might be me who played this game way too much in the past. Either way, I'm not coming back to it anytime soon. Had fun nevertheless tho <3

5. Murder by Numbers - got Epic Games Store, got my hands on free games and there I went, choosing this one as the first one. It has repetitive mechanic over finding clues - it's a detective kind of game, similar to Ace Attorney, but much more tame - but like, if you're bored you can cheat through them just to get on with the plot. I did that at the very end and really, I enjoyed the plot, characters, music. The tiny computer who helped the main heroine was adorable <3

6. Earthbound - you thought I will forget to play it? HAH, jokes on you! The end of year is nearing and my mind is already set on to play it again! I will never grow bored of this game and this time the team consisted of Ringo, me, John and Paul, Beatles themed team and truth be told, I WAS SO FUCKING UNLUCKY ON THIS SAVE. Like, I even did simplest mistakes, forgetting about the freaking shields which got me an instant kill. Had to repeat the last cave three fucking times, I never had such a bad playthrough in my life! Ringo borrowed his luck this time it seems

7. Spyro the Dragon - what did I do when I got a new PC? Downloaded PSX emulator and played Spyro. I'm a whole mood as my friend described me and honestly I don't regret this decision, even if I had to take this game in parts. The camera made me sick to my stomach - oh God I hope it'll be better in later parts and in the remaster - but like taking one level per day was a good idea to solve the problem. Plus the soundtrack - Copeland my beloved! - is just so good. One of those games which soundtracks I'll be listening to when I have time. ...Which reminds me that I have to make cleaning on yt with the games' music. MAJOR CLEANING *looking at my young self* You did fucked it up

8. Deponia - Oh yes, I came back to his fuckery and now I'm having a break before tackling the second game which I don't like very much, but about this one! The beginning is kinda long, but once out of town the game shows what it is capable of with puzzle solving, plot, humor, characters. I still love it and will probably nerd the third part like I usually do, because it's my favorite, but this time I did one major change. I've played with English dub, not like always with German and fuck, it is better somehow so I'm sticking to that <3

Now to the ones I've dropped: 1. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess - Being younger I loved this game, but this time I just couldn't get into it anymore. Might be because my smart ass thought about erasing the save I didn't finish years ago and starting a new one, but who might know. I do regret I didn't finish the game for some weird reason those years ago, but maybe it was for the better? Either way, I sold it with a few other Nintendo Wii games, leaving only two Kirby games for myself so yeah

2. Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time - now I really had high expectations for this one. I always heard good opinions about it and so I started it, curious, only to discover that I'm bored of it in the long run. There's not much variety in the battle mechanics. You either do that or this and push buttons. There's no excitement like it is in Final Fantasy for example, it's simpler, much much simpler and the same goes too...

3. Super Mario RPG - while having an amazing soundtrack, this game suffers the same thing as the previous. Repetitive battle mechanics and like this is probably the worst thing you can do to rpg. I know a lot of people love it and I can see why. The plot is great, dialogues, characters and world building is amazing, but for me if the battle mechanics ain't anything good, then I'm gonna drop the game and move on

4. Kirby Mass Attack - I always wanted to play this game. It was actually the first ROM I've downloaded on Nintendo DS emulator right after getting new PC and I had fun in the first world. I love the mechanics with the touch screen, the fact that there's 10 tiny Kirbys running around, but what threw me off guard is the fact that even if you have 10 Kirbys, you're gonna end with one at the beginning of the next world. I felt like all the progress was lost and I had to start from the very beginning. It somehow didn't feel fair you know. This was a big let down

And the ones I'm playing now: 1. Cave Story - first time after hearing what a good game it is, and I finally agree with an opinion! It's smooth, like the older games, the graphics are cute, music is amazing, plot simple, but engaging somehow. And true, some part for a new player are difficult - I'm playing on easy, I don't think of myself as of a great gamer and I still find it difficult. One boss was really unreadable for me, the one who was driving, I don't know the name of it, but like I had to have a few tries to figure out what to do and that is the only complaint I have about this game. Second would be no checkpoints between bosses at the very end, but like there was a chance for me to get a life refill, but like I didn't know about it, so I screwed myself on my own wish. Plus, I'm having a break from it because I'm stuck at final bosses. In the meantime I jumped to this one:

2. Yooka Laylee - which I bought on sale on steam and honestly, I don't remember when I had such a great time with a 3D platformer since Rayman 3. I know a lot of people are saying that it's not the same as Banjo-Kazooie - which I didn't play YET - but like, is it really worthy to compare instead of having fun with a game? I mean, the plot is simple, characters are fun, mechanics are great, the moveset is good, it's not limiting the player at all, the freaking soundtrack is a whole orchestra really, always giving the vibe of the world in a great way. There are a few bugs here and there, but they are not game breaking or anything. I was only throw off my guard when I learned that I need 100 pagies to get to the end. Guess what I am doing as of lately XD

Jessie and Silverleaf's Search for Blizz (Giant Chasm)

The following is a transcript from Discord of me and @guitarandgallade role-playing on day 1 of the Unova Freeze event. The characters decided to join up and look for Blizz leading to them searching the Giant Chasm.

I'm playing Silverleaf and they are Jessie

There will be a few links to other posts, that give additional context or were posted by the characters during the time of their interaction.

Silverleaf started to bundle up, afterwards he would put his snowshoes on. It was cold in Undella and just starting to lightly snow. He was getting more bundled up than he needed to be right now. But dragons know how cold the Chasm would be, especially if Kyurem was there.

"Hey there. You look like one of those Galarian Darumakas" Jesse joked. They're quite bundled themselves, clad in a bright blue snowsuit. They offer a large thermos to Silverleaf, full of some hot drink. A Gallade towers behind them, adjusting Jesse's snowsuit and goggles for them.

Silverleaf takes the offered thermos. "Thanks I hadn't considered bringing a hot drink, but yeah something like this will help." Silverleaf uses his phone to get a look at himself. "Your right I do look like a Galarian Darumaka."

Jesse laughs quietly, glad to lighten the mood. "Gotta be careful, your eyebrows might freeze like theirs, too." The Gallade chirps at Jesse, who pats his shoulder in return. "Right, right. This is one of my partner pokemon, Quote. He's pretty resilient to the cold, so he'll accompany us up to the Chasm. Besides, it's almost impossible to keep him in his ball when he's worried," Jesse explains. The Gallade, Quote, seems to get flustered at that and begins gesturing wildly to Jesse. He seems to mean that 'with a trainer like Jesse, of course I'd be worried!'

"I have 4 Pokemon myself." Silverleaf releases one of his Pokemon, a Klang. "This is Clack. It'll be accompanying us. Other than my Klang... I have a Magneton named Click, a Porygon Z named Zipfile, and an Abra named Houdini." Silverleaf paused. "My Abra is very talented at teleporting... however I would hesitate to use him right now except for emergencies. He recently got badly injured and is still recovering."

"Ouch, poor thing. I'm sure he'll get better in no time." Jesse glances at the sky, contemplating. After a moment, they place the thermos in their large backpack and fish out a scarf. Jesse wraps the scarf around the Gallade carefully, then turns to Silverleaf. "We should get going before it gets any worse. All ready?"

Silverleaf nods "All ready, let's go."

Jesse returns his nod and offers a hand up. "The easiest way to the Chasm is to go back up to Lacunosa. I got word that the Marine tube was evacuated and closed. I guess the temperature drop put too much fatigue on the structure."

"It's unfortunate, I hope the marine tube isn't too damaged long term. I'm fine with going through Lacunosa"

"Sounds good. Quick question, do you get motion sick?"

"No?" Silverleaf says this with uncertainty. He doesn't get motion sickness but he worries a bit about whatever plan Jessie has cooked up.

"Great. Wonderful, even. Quote, if you'd please!" Quote nods, grabs onto Jesse and Silverleaf, and starts glowing. After a moment, he flashes bright white! Everything goes dark as they both realize that Quote has teleported them...to inside someone's house.

Jesse's quiet for a long moment, before speaking quietly. "Well... we're in Lacunosa, at least."

"Ah I see. Quote knows teleport then? I'm used to teleporting so no problem for me. Now... who's house are we in?" Silverleaf looks around "Well it's not my parent's house anyway."

"We're in my cousin's house. I crash here when I'm in the area." Jesse gives the front door a good shove to open. "Now's the real problem. I think there's a shortcut to the Chasm nearby?"

"Indeed there is. Kids around here liked to dare each other to go in. I've gone inside, but never far." "I'll lead you to the short cut." Silverleaf starts walking out. He can clearly see why the door needed such a big shove. The snow is 2 feet deep. He's glad to be wearing the snowshoes.

Jesse follows behind him, clearly troubled. Quote manages to walk faster than both of them, but stops occasionally. He seems to guide Jesse as they try deciphering on their phone.

"There's a Z in here. I guess I can just try shifting letters until I get something."

"Ok you focus on deciphering the message. I'll focus on getting us to the shortcut. It'll be a couple of minutes before we get there." Silverleaf pauses. "Actually with all this snow slowing us down it'll take longer than normal."

"Not an issue. You'll wanna stand back, though." Jesse tells him. They look up from their phone and throw a pokeball. With a flourish, a Chandelure spins out of the ball. "Stella, Flamethrower!"

Silverleaf stumbles back "Wha! Wha! Flamethrower on what?"

"The snow!" Jesse explains, as their Chandelure melts a path in front of them.

"I guess that'll make things faster. Are you going to have them using Flamethrower the whole time?"

"Just short bursts, when the snow gets too thick." On cue, the Chandelure stops for a break. She seems more confused than tired.

"Well let's carry on then." "I think I can see the entrance to the short cut in the distance there."

"I think I see it too! Alright, let me know if we need Quote or Stella. I think I have an idea on the text."

"Cool, we'll just go through there, and we should be able to get into the Chasm."

Jesse looks up from their phone and sighs. "Yeah, let's get going. I can't make heads or tails of this right now." They motion their Pokemon closer, just in case they run into any grunts.

"Alright. In we go." Silverleaf says as he goes in to the Chasm.

Jesse follows Silverleaf. Their Chandelure hovers closer as Quote keeps watch. All three of them seem on edge, as if waiting for something to happen.

The snow in the chasm is very deep. 3 feet deep to be exact. The wind was blowing fiercely. It was hard to see because just how white everything was. Silverleaf looked around trying to spot anything other than snow and trees, but he didn't have much luck. It was just white white white white white.

Jesse let out a low whistle. Stella spun around before blasting the snow with Flamethrower. The fire type lit the Chasm in eerie purple hues as she melted a path forward. Jesse walks towards the center, obviously anxious and bothered.

Silverleaf walked alongside Jessie, behind Stella. Swinging his head back and forth looking for any sign of human activity. But if there was any signs it had already been covered by the snow. It was hard to believe that anyone, even Blizz would be hanging around somewhere so inhospitable.

Quote made a sound to Jesse, snapping them back to focus. After staring at each other for a moment, they both sighed. "Nothing. Doesn't seem like anyone's here or has been here. We can look for clues, but there's no people or Pokemon in the Chasm."

"The Pokemon were smart to get out then. We should too if there's isn't anyone here. And I doubt we'll find any clues under all this snow."

Jesse swears under their breath, then follows the melted snow out of the Chasm. They recall Stella into her ball and pull out their phone. "Well, professor. Any other ideas?"

"Uhhh... to be honest this was my best idea. We could also try maybe... high up locations? Closer to the clouds to make them cold or something?"

"Highest place in Unova. Either one of the mountains, Unity tower, or one of the skyscrapers in Castelia. No idea which one, though."

"All of the locations are worth a look. Can Quote teleport us to any of the locations to check? Or is it too far for them?"

[ooc addition: it was about this time that the code from earlier was solved and Blizz's location found. There were several characters in a group chat together, including these 2 and the solved code was posted there]

Jesse looks at their phone in disbelief. Of all the places in Unova, it chose the City sewers. The sewers filled with zu- and woo-bats, sludge, and horrible smells. If Jesse's limit hadn't been broken long, long ago, they'd have just hit it. Hopefully a good night's rest can help fix that. "Castelia, huh." They look at Silverleaf with a tired smile. "Wanna crash at my apartment?"

Silverleaf carefully considers it. "Do you live in Castelia? Because if so, yes. It'll be more efficient to stick close to where our targets are."

"My apartment's in the City. Right next to the station, actually. It shouldn't be a problem to meet up with everyone there."

[ooc addition: the characters in the group chat had decided to meet up the next morning to take on Blizz]

"Alright then, sounds like a plan. But, I really outta go check on my parents first though, if you don't mind. I know they were worried about me when I told them I was going to check the Chasm." "They are in Undella town right now."

Jesse nods. "I get it! Do you want Quote and I to teleport you back to Undella?"

"That would be nice, thank you."

"Of course. We have to watch out for each other, especially when it gets scary." Jesse motions to Quote, who gives a slight bow before grabbing Jesse and Silverleaf. With a brilliant flash, the trio ends up back in the Undella pokemon center.

"Ok I'll be back soon. I'll just run off the find my parents and then I'll be back!" Silverleaf runs off.

Jesse waves and turns to the counter. They being talking the nurse on staff about transporting pokemon.

Sometime later Silverleaf returns. "They're doing ok. I'm glad my dad is doing well, in particular. He taking stuff in stride. He lost his arm in the Neo Plasma attack, y'know."

Besides Jesse stands, what can only be described as, a behemoth of a Gardevoir. He easily towers above everyone else in the Center, eyes wide and cold. The Gardevoir's lower gown is in tatters, full of holes and small tears. Everyone around the two seem unnerved and leave a wide gap around them. Jesse frowns. "Jeez, that's terrible. I'm glad your folks are doing okay though. They need anything?"

Silverleaf is a bit taken aback by the giant Gardevoir, but shakes it off. "My folks are fine but thank you. I'm alright now with going to your apartment."

"Okay. Cadence, if you'd please." Cadence gives Jesse a flat stare. He switches looking at his trainer and Silverleaf several times. He seems unimpressed, or maybe just stubborn. Eventually Jesse frowns at the Gardevoir and holds out their hand. Cadence takes their hand immediately and reluctantly offers his other hand to Silverleaf.

Silverleaf takes the offered hand.

Instantly, the trio are in Jesse's apartment. It's surprisingly clean and organized. Pokemon toys, such as a worn kick toy, a heavy duty chew toy full of teeth marks, and a tall cutting mat. Binders sit closed on their coffee table, next to an ice cold cup. Before anyone can move, something from the bedroom starts yelping. "I think I'll just crash on the couch. It's been a long day."

"Yeah, I feel that." Jesse hands Tangerine over to Cadence, who begins carefully petting the Zorua. They disappear into their bedroom and come out with several pillows and blankets. "Alright, should keep you warm for the night. I'll let you get comfortable. Let me know if you need anything or something happens. Night!" They herd their Pokemon into the bedroom and close the door.

​The short answer is I really liked it.

The long answer is that when I played it I intended to give it a "real shake" later on, and the later on in question has not come up:

I bought it, played it for a few days, then tabled it for later with no regrets and a good mood attached to the experience.

Due to the time between then and now some details are fuzzy, and yes 100% I'm still looking forward to when I come back and decide to give it a full playthrough and my attention (like so many titles lol), but I think I can sum up my take on it something along the lines of-

It scratched an itch I had for a very specific brand of monster tamer a-la Dragon Quest Monsters but it did so many things that felt like its own identity (whether those things are an amalgamation of other monster tamers I can't promise to know).

I did feel like the extreme amount of customization and "ways to improve your team/gameplay" options was "arguably" bloated, but I also concede that I fully enjoyed the mess of options and never felt like any one option was required so much as included- like I enjoyed the in-depth planning through macros so you could basically program if-thens into your monsters attack patterns, but that's also something I wouldn't be in the mood to do "All" the time, but the option being there is objectively cool.

The writing was silly which was appreciated but also did make me gloss over and ignore a great deal of it- like in an attempt to take itself less seriously to differentiate from the bland and uninteresting dialogue in say pokemon it went full circle to being uninteresting sometimes (key word sometimes).

The monsters are fun; I won't say they won my heart the same way the classic Toriyama designs in DQM have, but a very important part of a monster collecting / battling / team making game like this are those designs and I was very much enjoying exploring them all :)

There's more on my mind about it, like I vaguely remember you having control over the colors of your monsters after breeding which I found "eh" because I'd like stability to the designs but also it was an option and having the option is cool- and also this could be a bad memory moment lol

But overall I'd just say Siralim Ultimate was a lot of fun- definitely a game I'm looking forward to playing more of. It gave me that classic "Just grind some levels out and unlock new stuff" vibe that DQM always has thanks to all the random dungeons you can dive in to grind out resources and levels. Very good "Chill and play" kind of game.

I am not gonna lie to you I am having the hardest time with this one. Both of my S/Is are pretty much exactly the same with the only difference being who they fall for. I'm still off sick until tomorrow because of this stomach bug. Been pooping less now but my stomach still hurts. What the fuck did I eat that upset my stomach so bad?

Ed went to work even though he wasn't 100%. I was nagging again but it feels like I'm talking to a tree. I just let him be and just told him to pack some medicine and his lunch as well.

I just played Pokemon the whole morning and made myself a high protein brunch-dinner around 12:30pm. Took a shower and went to the gym. I did chest, biceps, and abs today. It was a good session but my legs were a bit sore from yesterday's training. They're going to be screaming tomorrow when I'm hitting my legs again. I do legs twice a week now because Monty's legs inspired me to have cuts on my quads.

Went home and saw Ed covered in his warm poncho. That's cute. I reheated the mung beans and made some rice for his dinner. I won't be eating. I have to be more strict with myself because New Year will be the last time I'm going to be eating a lot of food. Fingers crossed.

Just playing Pokemon trying to fill the Pokedex and we're just watching JJK tonight. It's been a good day.

I was supposed to be working today but called in sick at 7am because of a 'stomach bug' and I'm not really feeling well. Ed wasn't feeling well too but he still insisted to go to work because that's just like him. I foresee that he will be back before 10am because he really didn't seem well sleeping last night. He came back drunk as fuck and he was running a fever, I think. It's the result of his relentless partying since the 23rd. Yes, I was nagging when he came back at 9:30am.

I went to the gym despite of my stomach bug and my stomach still hurts bad a lot. I did legs, abs, and shoulders. It was a good gym session for me. I also went to Morrisons to get some essentials for me and Ed because he's sick. I think it's Covid but we both tested and they came back negative.

I cooked mung bean soup for the sick boy and made him some Berocca to help him with his fever. He's still so warm. I told him to take a shower to help him.

I finished the Kitakami and Indigo Disk DLC last night and I've never been happier playing a DLC in Pokemon. It was so good! I love Carmine the most because she reminds me of me.

While I was in the grocery store, a thought came to me. It's so exhausting being a giver when you're in a relationship with a taker. Ed's not doing it on purpose. It's just how he is. That's him in his default. I'm exhausted and it took a lot of guts to finally say this because I've been trying to come up with explanations why I feel this way when I knew why from the start. I've changed, too. I'm less now. Maybe that's a good thing. I'm not going to be that tired anymore. I'm glad that I finally said it. It's so reaffirming. It's sad though that I have to keep myself from giving more of me to him but I'm happy because that means I get to have more of me for myself. I think it makes sense, right?

Kevin and I also agreed to meet for coffee on the 13th of Saturday. It's the third attempt after randomly seeing each other at the station to meet up for coffee but I think we'll see it through this time.

Finally! A long, well-deserved sleep after the physical stress that the 24-25th has given me. Those were happy days but I think ageing has made my mood sour. I think I grew up to be a Squidward.

I wanted to go to the gym but I saw online that they'll be reopening on the 27th. Seems like I can't burn the excess calories I've eaten the past few days. If it's not freezing cold here in the UK, it's fucking wet and windy. We can't choose a struggle here because we live with them all. Checking my bank account and I'm literally trying to process how I'm going to manage everything and it's not even January yet. I don't really know.

Ed went to Stevenage to attend their Filipino Christmas Party with his friends but I didn't want to attend mainly because my social battery has run out and I just want to be a potato in the bed gradually growing its roots.

I did nothing all day but I did record myself rapping Nicki Minaj's verse on Monster.

Simple background, i joined blaseball at the end of Season 11, and picked favorites based on names alone at first, and being a Firefighters fan, picked Joshua Butt as my fav. Season 12 rolls around and Joshy is the first player to die, lucky me, so i needed a new fav. Suddenly the stars align and they all shine upon this weirdo; Kennedy Rodgers.

I prefer Nonhuman characters. I got into blaseball because it was weird, so i am drawn towards the weird players.

I have a soft spot for clockwork themes thanks to Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, my fav game ever. Kennedy Rodgers is a "clockwork automaton made of mostly gears and various time-telling instruments".

I'm an absolute SUCKER for Underdogs, and Season 12 made him the SHINING EXAMPLE of one.

During Earlsiesta, Season 12, Rodgers gained the Under Over modification as part of the Seasonal Reading.

This is the first blessing the Reader has EVER given out. Curry Aliciakeyes got "Over Under", which did the exact opposite, so it was actually a Curse. Under Over activates at the start of EVERY GAME, whether he's actually playing or not. It's pretty fitting for a robot, especially with this text at the start of every single game. He really wanted to make himself be known, even if he's just cheering from the dugout.

And then During the Season 12 elections, the Chicago Firefighters received the Organ Replacements blessing, which increased Rodgers' pitching from 1.5-Stars to 2.5-Stars. Only 2.5, boosted by 20% in most cases thanks to his ability, yeah, but still only 2.5. Look at him, he's shit.

So season 13 rolls around and he gets to show off his new shoes. We expect a decent showing, how's he do?

ONLY THE BEST SEASON OF HIS ENTIRE GODDAMN CAREER.

2.5 FUCKING STAR PITCHER

That was better than Jaylen Hotdogfingers. Better W/L Ratio than Gabriel Griffith, who had a 1.9 ERA that season. KRod's wasn't that far off. Polkadot Patterson was at 13/7 with a 2.10. he was up there with some of the greats.

It didn't last long, he went back to being Average soon after this, but he was always much better than youd expect by just looking at him. Under Over carried him hard, and the Sim's team-win-estimation didn't account for it either. If a game was estimated to be a close fight and Krod was pitching, you better bet on Krod every time.

Lets stop talking stats for a moment and talk about him as a person.

He originally played for the Wild Wings, and joined the Firefighters after the wing's season 7 championship. Firefighters were meant to trade 3 players with the wings, but due to some classic Sim shenanigans we only got 2, Krod and Jose Haley. Jose died almost immediately after joining the Firefighters so Krod was suddenly here from out of country all on his own, in a place he's actually never been before (i dont think the wings/ffs ever had a game together up to that point due to how Divisions worked). He was really shy, and joined as the weakest pitcher in the FFs rotation.

He's often seen as one of the most Optimistic players on the team. He knew he wasn't good but he didn't let it get to him much. He took every loss as a learning opportunity. He wanted to improve himself in any way possible but i don't think he wanted the fame of being a good player. He played along side Burke Gonzales, so he knew what it could be like. Staying an underdog was the perfect spot for him. His endless Curiosity and Creativity meant even in the worst of times he'd try to find a bright side and cheer others up, and wanted to teach others everything he knew. He was a real Info-dumper kinda guy. It takes something REALLY bad to put him in a bad mood.

SUN HEIST.

Hopefully i have this story correct, but this is how i understand it went down.

The Wild Wings ballpark is called the Bucket. What do they put in a Bucket? Chicken? Wrong. it's a Sun.

Deep down in the pits of the Bucket there is a Sun. Not THE Sun, but A Sun. The Bucket was built to contain that stolen sun. A lot of things at the Bucket use this old sun as a power source. Fast Forward many years, Season 11, and Tot Fox does that thing where the actual Sun (we'll call it Sol) collapses into a black hole. Sunbeams obviously in a panic. Sol isnt dead tho, it's stuck inside. It calls out to Sandy Crossing and tells her to get the Wings to help, they'd know what to do. A few of the older wings players are like;

"oh ya, so we have this old sun in our basement. it's kinda a big deal, we don't tell many people about it, especially not you guys since we figured you wouldn't like that. We have a place for Sol if you need it, but you need to get it first."

They do this whole mission, sending Brock Watson into the black hole to rescue Sol. It's heavily condensed, small, and very weak. they rush it to the Bucket asap, and they feed The Bucket's Old Sun to Sol. The two combine into one and Sol is saved, and kept in the bucket for safe keeping.

There was a short period of time when the Bucket's old sun was just gone, eaten by Sol, so a lot of Bucket's Tech stopped working until the sun fusion finished. And that included poor K-Rod, all the way in Chicago, who had no idea of this Old Sun business. He was left in the dark about how he was powered. He was awake, doing his usual routine, making a watch, prepping for the next fire call, when he suddenly drops dead for a few hours. Everyone in the firehouse is in a panic because nobody knew how to fix K-Rod better than K-Rod himself. Eventually the Sun fusion is completed in Mexico and K-Rod wakes up, terrified and confused.

It takes a shockingly long time to hear anything from the Wild Wings about what caused this, since the Wings were still stressed over letting the Old Sun get eaten, and that whole thing about Brock going into a black hole. They hadn't even considered K-Rod until a bit later. Burke Gonzales travels all the way up to Chicago to check on K-Rod and explain the whole thing. Kennedy is incredibly upset about this whole thing, for a good number of reasons. The fact that they forgot about him, the fact that they never told him about the one thing keeping him alive, the fact that multiple wings knew about it and nobody thought he should be included in that info, and possibly also the fact that he's a firefighter now and his primary power source is A SUN!? THE FIREFIGHTERS' ENEMY NUMBER ONE?!

He has a very rough relationship with the Wings now. Mexico is still his home, and they're his home team, but He's from Chicago. Chicago is his home now. He still kinda felt like an outsider in Chicago tho, he was still fairly new to the team, and was a pretty solitary guy, so he didn't have any really close friends, just friendly work acquaintances. He looks back at CDMX in rose-tinted goggles nowadays. He only wants to remember the good old times he had there, but refuses to go back, and his love for his old team is more bitter than sweet now. He misses them a lot.

At the end of Season 14, Firefighters get a new player. Thanks to a deal with the Lovers, they land an absolute Jackpot of a player. Gabriel Fucking Griffith.

Gabriel is the opposite of K-Rod in every conceivable way. He's got a massive ego, he's a gloat, he's loud and bombastic, wanting all focus on him at all times. He can Pitch, he can Run, he can Bat, he can Catch, he puts his blaseball career first, firefighting second, and on top of all of that, he actually has the reputation to back it up.

K-Rod keeps his distance from this guy. He keeps his eye on him to learn some new tricks for himself, but he can't stand the attitude. Especially Gabriel's destructive anger management after losing a game. Their occasional talks are friendly, and K-Rod does slowly try to teach him that winning isn't everything. Even a Pro can learn from their Losses. The best thing to do is to keep moving forward and keep trying your best. That's all anyone can ask for in the end. Blaseball is hell, and he shouldn't make it harder for himself than he needs to, especially as Firefighters. Just find a way to enjoy it. That's been K-Rod's way of going about it up to this point. Gabe really appreciated the pep talks. They slowly started to get along.

Ohohohohhoo season 19

Season 19 is when the game got turned Upside Down. Winning was now Losing, and Losing was now Winning. And you know who this hurt the most? Gabriel? You'd think but no, it was actually Kennedy.

The one thing K-Rod focused on was his improvement. He put a very large chunk of his regular free time to trying to find ways to improve himself, and knowing that all he had to do was try his best. Suddenly that's no longer a positive thing. All that effort he's put into himself is not just wasted, its a Hindrance to the team. His Under Over skill, which makes him play better, is now actively hurting the team. It feels like the game is tearing him apart piece by piece with every game he plays. Shockingly, the one person who's not upset by this is Gabriel.

Gabe sits down with K-Rod and gives him a mirror of the speech K-Rod had given him before. They don't have a choice other than to try their best, so why not keep doing it? This season sucks for everyone, not just K-Rod, so he shouldn't take anything personally. It's a learning opportunity on how to adapt to weird changes. The Tokyo Lift had that Hype-Train thing going on that season and were the best team in the league. Nothing made any sense. They should just have fun. That's all that mattered, its why people watched the games. It's why Gabe acts so bombastic. Everyone likes to see the players have fun. Learn to put on a show.

Somehow, Tokyo managed to make the playoffs, despite the Wins=Lose thing. and in the playoffs, the Wins=Lose thing did not apply. Firefighters, the worst team in the Wild High Division (best? We won a lot and that's bad), managed to make it into the playoffs as a Wildcard, facing off against the Tokyo Lift round 1. It was obvious the Lift were going to wipe the floor with us. They had max Hype-train, meaning their home games gave them such a massive advantage that it was barely a fair game. Two of the 3 games were played in Tokyo. One of which was against the Firefighters best pitcher, Lou Roseheart, and one of them against our pitcher who just suffered a major peanut allergy, and had become one of our worst players, Caleb Alvarado.

Game one, despite her best efforts, Lou Roseheart, our best pitcher, let 10.7 runs go. a 10.7 to 1 score. There was no way Caleb could win in those same conditions. Kennedy, luckily, was the pitcher who pitched the game held at the Firehouse. Wing's won their Season 7 championships as the Wildcard team and he was the worst on the team back then. Now here he is, Wildcarded back into the postseason, worst team in the division, and he's got one last chance to finally shine. To make the world know his name.

0-6. He pitched a Shutout. Half of those innings without his Under Over skill in effect. He simply refused to let them win. Sure, the Lift didn't have their ridiculous advantage in that game, and Firefighters didn't win that set. Lift went on to win all of Season 19. But it wasn't about that. It was growth. Spite. Not Spite for the Lift, but for Blaseball as a whole. Fuck this game and everything it stands for. He's here to try his best and support his friends. That's all he's here for. And he is having fun doing it.

That's the end of his story. He ended up being Faxed into the shadows in season 21, and due to his low Star total, never came back out. The closest thing we have to anything after that is Anastasia Isarobot. She was a player in the Shadows of the Firefighters since season 16. the common story for her was that she was made by K-Rod and Fran Beans of the Wing. K-Rod and Fran were friends, and she didn't know about the Sun Heist stuff either, so the two of them kept in contact. K-Rod wanted to make a robot of his own, one he could keep out of Blaseball. One who could live their own life. Anastasia (Staj) was like a daughter to him. When fall-ball happened, Staj was dropped to the Wings, but K-Rod never came back. Staj was, also, the best player in the entire ILB.

Maybe all the improvement K-Rod tried to apply to himself carried over into her construction. He didn't want her to play Blaseball and now here she is, forced to play, better than her dad ever could be. And she gets snuffed out in Season 1, by the same book that caused all the hell they were in before. She never had a chance. She might go through the same hell as Jaylen Hotdogfingers. The worst fate that any player could ever endure.

And then they were all released. Thats it. Krod, Staj, everyone, finally set free. it's so sudden. I can only wish them the best. I love all these players more than you could possibly imagine. I actually drove myself to tears writing this whole thing. When i was running K-Rod's Twitter account, I wrote him a lot like myself, because he already kinda was like me. But in the end he became something much more, he became the kinda guy i wanted to be. Its very weird to look up to a guy I practically helped write, but i really do.

I had only a passive interest in Robot characters prior to Blaseball, but now here i am, V-Tubing as a Robot on the internet, with a new fascination in old computers and engineering. I even have a drawing of Staj on my office wall at work, in the same way you'd hang up a picture of your own kid.

I'll never be the same. @fintenciate im @ing you here because im sure this post will kill you as much as it kills me.

I've been sad about Blaseball lately

You should tell me about your Blaseball blorbo, especially if they aren't one that's well known. I mean, I wouldn't mind if you want to tell me why you like Jessica Telephone or Mike Townsend or PolkaDot Patterson anyway.
