Tumblr updated their queue limit to 1k posts and I swear I'm gonna hit that any day now. And then I'll have to wait a month before I get back to adding posts to it. I haven't gotten my drafts below 2k posts yet.

Small 'Fic Posting News
I moved a lot of early FOP character studies and warm-ups to my unrevealed Riddle WIPs collection on AO3, so they're easily on hand for me to tag and post when I feel ready.
A lot of these are things I enjoyed, but didn't feel comfy sharing back in 2016/17. They're cool to look back on and I'm ready to let them go. Some are suggestive, some are emotionally intense, some are very simple character studies, so as always, tread with care.
I also think they're neat because they don't build on each other, so they're pretty low-brainpower reads (imo), which some people may like.
I don't expect to post one of these old things every week, but they'll probably show up on Mondays or Wednesdays or something like that (Once Life of a Loser stops posting on Wednesdays, which is in two weeks).
As per the norm, M and E works will be under the ScarletPenguin pseud, so if you know that's not your cup of tea and you see the email, you can delete it without needing to open it or check tags.
These old pieces will be exclusive to AO3 (Organization, easier for my brain, etc.) On the off chance anything becomes a Prompt, it will go on FFN.
Not planning to do Tumblr announcements or cover images for them. They're off to the side for the people interested. Might shout out a few favorites, though.
AO3 series to subscribe to or avoid at your preference:
🌈 Rainbow Train - All FOP 'fics that aren't 130 Prompts (i.e. It will include these old pieces). 🖤 Off the Rails - Stuff that doesn't fit my main AUs (Cloudlands, City Lights, Reedfilter). Most old pieces will go here since they're non-canon now. ❤️ Red Train - Romantic or sensual works (All FOP AUs).
Additional reminder:
🚂 130 Reasons Why I'm Fairy Trash - Everything in this one-shot series is G or T. If you feel uneasy about Rainbow Train, you can filter M and E stuff out by subscribing just to this one!
Under the cut, I have examples (i.e. screenshots of these WIP titles and summaries like what you would see when scrolling AO3) to help people get a feel for the vibe.
Suggestive or gross summaries & commentary; proceed at own discretion. Obviously, #ridspoilers.
Reminder - These are WIP screenshots. The pieces will have proper tags and meta before they're posted. Titles may also change.
Bonus disclaimer: If you see a line in an old WIP that seems familiar... I do yoink things from these sometimes because I wasn't planning to post them, yes <3
This will be the first one:
Tumblr media
Exactly what it says on the tin- Super simple.
Here are a few more examples (No specific order)-
Tumblr media
A scene from Frayed Knots I've always regretted cutting even though it was for the best, but y'know what? It deserves to be shared because it's funny :)
Tumblr media
Another moment from canon translated into my style! There's also a "Flappy finds out Gary and Betty knew about magic the whole time" bit somewhere in here that I had to throw out after "Solo" happened.
Tumblr media
I will not apologize for my deity break-up drama. I might apologize for Prince Thursday's seasonal torment, but he's the nature spirit of Leaves, so-
Tumblr media
Unpleasant non-con / dubcon situations... We know how this goes.
Tumblr media
And the obligatory sequel to the above. That pixie sure can character arc!
Tumblr media
Very cursed flirty pixies, my beloved...
Tumblr media
Do you have any idea how weird it feels to post pre-reincarnation pieces out of context... skldjf...
It's gross! It's goofy! Cupid's ancestors took her mobility aid because they're unpleasant people! We just keep winning!!
Tumblr media
Uncut version of the Ambrolara scenes! I sadly cut some of my favorites lines from "Hate That I Love You" because it would've crossed the line... but I love them....... my cursed OCs who are awful for each other.
Tumblr media
No one understands Sanderson's mind, not even me 7 years later... He can do whatever he wants forever.
Tumblr media
Foop's romantic scenes during the late-Prompts era are some of my favorite warm-ups... He's here, he's queer, he's having a mental breakdown spitting and crying over his dad not noticing him sneaking in a girl, he was forced to marry someone he desperately does not want to be intimate with, he loves his mom, he's losing the power struggle against his alt personality, he's this close to losing his inheritance, he calls his wife his mistress's name... No one is doing it like him. Probably because he's doing SO bad!!
The preview scene you see in "Trouble Beyond Paradise" finally broke me... It's been a favorite since 2017 and I just really want to share... That one's a multi-chapter and I hope you guys like it. I love Foop/Anti-Marigold and their weird situation... Like, of COURSE if Poof has severe anxiety about accidentally forcing them into dubcon, Foop's genius idea is to get the first time over with before Poof/Goldie can bind them into it. So funny. They are silly little guys... the people have a right to know...
Tumblr media
Very old anatomy study. It's about bees ripping apart when they mate. It's... sort of cute? Mostly horrific and full of pain and sobbing? :'D If you pick this up, you will very quickly see why I never intended to post it, but... It's 2024, baby! Welcome to my mind...
- This one will likely get a new title, so be careful if this is one you want to avoid. - Where is that post that goes like "Why do all my ace friends write the most bizarre sex scenes?" followed by "Have to throw in something interesting for us." sdfkj. Yeah... It's me, I'm that guy. And this kind of guy.
And more!! I hope you like reading these old pieces, but if they are not your thing, that is perfectly fine. Some of these are not even my thing, but sometimes you have to write it to know that! Sometimes you knew that and wrote it anyway because ??? idk.
I think it's neat to see my style change over the years. I hope you get some joy out of them, even if they're hyperspecific.

Hello!
Sorry to bother you, but you seem to be one of the more informed Bleach fans.
So the thing is, since Bleach started airing its new anime, my Twitter feed has over-filled with it (apparently liking any manga/anime equals liking Bleach...) and the waves of IH fans, who seem to enjoy it exclusively through bashing IR. I know my first mistake is having Twitter, but the author of the absolutely fantastic manga I'm into is posting extra material there, so I'm ready to bear the consequences XD
Tbh, I've never finished reading Bleach. I think I made it to Fullbringer arc, but at that point, I've finally realized that I can just stop reading something that doesn't bring me enjoyment and for a while at that.
I did ship IR back then (for obvious reasons), but I have long since moved past Bleach to better pastures, though I still love the aesthetic. (And Rukia, I probably would've finished Bleach if it was at least 30% more Rukia, no Ichigo necessary XD)
But recently, I've encountered the post that discussed how Kubo himself didn't like the old anime. I remember fandom drama being large enough that it affected him, though I know no specifics as I've always inhabited the peripheral areas of the fandom.
So my question is, is there like a big meta post, following the evolution of Kubo's relationship with his work or just some large meta posts analyzing the events of those times? I definitely don't want to dive deep back into the fandom, but I've always enjoyed reading those large meta analyses.
Again, only if that won't be too bothersome for you, you just have a lot of interesting posts yourself, so I thought you may know something like this or point me in the right direction.
Have a good day!
Hi! To be honest, I kind of feel like a dinosaur in the fandom now... I've started reading it as a kid and joined the fandom when I was in middle school and now I'm in college with a part job but to sum it up, I've seen most of the drama of the fandom back then.
The thing is that the dudebros on Twitter who act like they know everything about B/each and what was going on in the fandom back then fail to realize the fandom was made of an overwhelming majority of IR shippers (and for good reasons) or just neutrals (who didn't really ship anything in particular) but understood IR's appeal.
But lmao, not the dudebros and these stans making up things to feed their own lies AGAIN when no, K/ubo didn’t have issues with the old anime, it was rather the “fan” who asked the question who was bitter about it from the way they asked their question. He supervied it and he even gave positive feedback, including this tweet about ep.342 (which features filler stuff made by the studio) where he said the episode was really pretty (he had also reacted to IR trending worldwide on Twitter back then while the anime episode aired).
Tumblr media
K/ubo also said he was very involved in the anime in an interview in 2006, including the filler arcs for example with the character designs of the zanpakutos later on in the anime etc.
K/ubo also did say concerning that the H/ellverse and D/iamond D/ust R/ebellion movies aren’t canon (which makes sense, especially for H/ellverse after that recent Hell oneshot) but rather parallels to the canon story while Fade To Black IS canon (and the movie was promoted as “a movie you should go watch with your S/O" lol) so it tells you how invested he was in the old animated series. There is a whole thread on Twitter showing you K/ubo appreciated the anime, musical and live action adaptations and how IR were portrayed there if you want to check it.
Tumblr media
Also, the “omg IR shippers are bullies and bad people!!!!” narrative which includes these accusations about IR shippers making K/ubo run off Twitter is FALSE (it happened 6-7 years ago), he deleted his account because a p*rnstar was impersonating as him there. SJ and him took legal action and that led to him deleting his account (he made a new account a while after), so it was not due to IR shippers and fandom drama as those people claim.
Apart from that, the manga’s cancellation official announcement from SJ was sudden which explains how rushed the ending was (well, at least the part where it doesn’t answer to many questions aka if U/rahara, G/rimmjow, N/el, Y/oruichi, I/sshin, R/yuuken were alive and some of the plot holes) but the fact it was that bad was K/ubo being petty and doing that out of spite because SJ cancelled the manga. I don’t know if you can say it’s a meta about his “relationship with his work” exactly but rather how his writing went downhill because he lost the plot of his own story: you can read this pretty interesting post (this blog has pretty interesting B/each analysis posts, including this one about the ending itself). B/each’s sales started to dip at one point but it got really bad at L/ost A/gent arc and and it got worse and worse after that because he spent way too long on unimportant plots and fights (the way we all way too many chapters with that fight of his favorite character against a giant hand...) while dropping important subplots/character arcs that had pontential such as K/arin becoming a s/hinigami (which was heavily hinted in the L/ost A/gent arc and which probably explains the fillers focused on her and H/itsugaya) or R/angiku having a piece of the S/OUL K/ING in her soul before A/izen stole it from her. He also got physically sick and tired of writing this story but SJ had initially given him enough time to end the story and what did he do? Waste time until SJ had had enough and made the cancellation announcement. You have a summary of that whole mess in this post.
The post-ending claims (from K/ubo himself and from those stans) about K/ubo planning the manga’s ending since the start (chapter 1) are also false.
K/ubo is great at characters design btw (though he had the same face syndrom at one point in TYBW when drawing his characters... especially when he was drawing T/oshiro in his bankai form) but as for the storytelling, he was only good if you stop at SS, after that... Well, we know how it went. It doesn't mean we didn't get good things from the following after that tho, it just means that things gradually started to go wrong until it became too much.
I hope this answer helps you to understand the situation better. Have a good day as well!

1, 18, 20 for writer asks ❤
Thank you so much for the ask, Mother Vera!!
1. Current projects and how it's going? So, I've got a few going on right now. Maybe it because of my natural organized chaos but I have, like, seven or eight different google doc tabs open of WIPs right now. I'm currently working on the next chapter of The Neighbors, which has been an expression of me cradling Egoist in my hands and whispering "I can fix you". The next chapter is still following the very sweet mundaneness of the story, but with a bit more action as Akihiko actually gets to meet Nowaki for the first time and it's adorable! The other tab I have open is GayGTA, be gay do crimes btw, and I'm still figuring out the next chapter from the one I recently posted so the one I'm currently writing is the gang actually going to rob Kuma Jewelry despite all of their dysfunction so far lol. I also have The Wolves, Teeth Bared open and have decided that I kinda hate how I wrote the next chapter so I'm reworking that. Other than those, I have a couple tabs open of an original story I've been working on because we need more LESBIANS and BI GALS. I also have a tab for a story for a ship (SanUso- One Piece) that I haven't written for in a while and it's a request from someone so I'm trying to do my best. The last tab is for one of my number 1 ships (Barnaby/Kotetsu - Tiger & Bunny) where I'm basically writing Kotetsu this huge backstory where he, still working as a superhero for Sternbild (which is just futuristic, jazzpunk New York), finds himself to be the next heir for an organized crime syndicate. So yeah! That's basically what I've got going on.
18. Do any of my stories have abandoned alternate versions? YES, actually. For FEUD, I had mainly the beginning a large parts of the middle super planned out, and that was mainly because FEUD was extremely inspired by the show FEUD: Bette and Joan (really amazing show about the very REAL rivalry between extremely famous old Hollywood actresses Bette Davis and Joan Crawford who are played by Susan Sarandon and Jessica Lange) (I'm a Bette Davis Stan btw). So for FEUD, I never really intended for Natsuko to be in it nor did I intend for Misaki and Akihiko to get married or have such a romantic focus, I figured I'd leave the focus mainly on Akihiko and Ijuuin because that's what I was writing about. I also planned for more uncomfortable scenes with Ijuuin and Misaki but figured that I had enough already. I also wrote a little about Akihiko and Ijuuin deciding to work against Isaka for a change, like actually becoming allies where it would get to a point that their relationship would be a threat to Marukawa Publishing (making Ijuuin have to considering finding a way to get them to be enemies again), but I ultimately scrapped it upon realizing where my FEUD was heading.
As for The Neighbors, I haven't completely scrapped it but I thought about adding a scene where Hiroki does something that comes off as kinda shitty and now he and Nowaki have to patch things up. Still not sure if I want to add it because The Neighbors is practice to dare to be boring, I MIGHT because I'M A GLUTTON FOR DRAMA.
For GayGTA, I had written out several scenes that are supposed to directly lead to Egoist making up, but I didn't know where to put them so I deleted them and am now working on a different avenue for that.
These are all the alts from my stories that I can think of off the top of my head!
20. Tell us about the meta in your writing? I definitely have a lot of the same themes and essence in a lot of my stories which all come back to what makes a healthy relationship and how to build that. I used to hate, like vehemently hate romance and couples, so a part of delving into healthy romantic relationships is not just a form of escapism but also because I didn't grow up around that kind of thing, at all. Not even my grandparents on both sides could provide a view into what makes a healthy relationship. So, there's a bit of fascination I have with great communication and the feeling that you love someone so much that you'd do anything for them, as well as being considerate towards the other person. But at the same time, I also really like the drama that comes along with romantic relationships because I think that's where a lot of the entertainment value comes from. What's really shocked me is how much a lot of people tend to really like how I not only write the characters but also how I'm able to really convey the relationships between them very well which is always a shock to my system because I've never been in a relationship before. I've had crushes, sure, but have never embarked on anything having to do with romance in the slightest.
I think another running theme in my work is how I like to really show what's going on in the characters' heads. Like, I'll sprinkle in their thoughts in the paragraphs or near their dialogue but I tend to not make their thoughts their own quotations if that makes sense? Because I HATE that. Like, I really don't like reading italicized font in between quotation marks to show the characters thoughts. I find it just a little lazy. To me, I'd rather that be shown through actions or, like I do, specific phrases here and there. In my head, it's like, yes you're a storyteller, you have to tell the story, but don't spoon feed it to me. Let me infer a little! Let me draw that conclusion on my own! This is something that I'm also trying to really put in my writing because I have a good amount of spots where I could just "show don't tell" you know?
Anyway, sorry for the WALL OF TEXT I REALIZE! But thanks again for the ask!
