in-universe alien stage mechanisms and the use of colors in round 7 (a luka & till rant ft. mizi & hyuna)

it's generally agreed that alien stage can be interpreted as a metaphor for the kpop industry, and as someone who did tons of studying (because of my 3d fav) on how performances work in c-ent, i noticed some things on my nth rewatch of blink gone

meta-wise, the colors in the mv are green (to represent till) and purple (to represent luka). this combo works really well for the song, but is there an in-universe explanation to the lighting? yep:

take a look at the scoreboard. even in-universe, green represents till and purple represents luka. taking the idol theme more literally, we can also assume that these are their official colors. i went back to the TOP 3 video and well well well guess what appears during luka's part

the lightsticks, the projected neon signs, the same kind of mask (?), the stadium lights. we can reasonably assume that this purple is luka's official fan color and represents support for him.

and guess what color almost all of the crowd is repping during round 7 through lightsticks and masks?

that's right, overwhelmingly purple. don't forget that the winners of each round of alien stage are decided by live in-house voting, and audience members will always be biased towards who they're a fan of. remember that luka is insanely popular and already won a season, so his fanbase would be larger, more developed, and more devoted.

till was, for a lack of better words, cooked. he was doomed to lose from the start, because how can a few of his fans outvote the majority?

i've seen some people theorize that the result was rigged, and i completely disagree: you cannot fake support on this large of a scale. "oh, but the color of the lightsticks are controlled by the organizers" then explain the masks, a clear fandom symbol

also, from my experience in survival shows, vote counts in the final round are usually hidden until the results are announced, which explains the wobbliness of the scoreboard bars like they're inflatable tube men in front of a car or mattress dealership.

an alternative explanation to the lightsticks is that it represents the current vote, but i'm not inclined to believe this theory because, again, the masks. like real-life idol performances, i think that this is just a show of support from the audience.

back to the meta: mizi's appearance in the crowd is a reinvigoration of determination in till, and in terms of color, she is a break of bright green among the sea of purple. she not only stands out because she's someone he loves, she is visually a breath of fresh air for him.

do you think, in those last moments, he was not only happy to see her alive in front of him but to also see her wearing his color?

in this part where they're reaching out to each other, the pink-purple light that seems to be shining from mizi is representative of how she's a beacon of hope for till. in-universe, however, till is just moving towards the audience, the close proximity of the lightsticks illuminating his face with color.

mizi and till are surrounded by this vibrant purple, a symbol for luka. even with mizi's more pink-ish radiance, they are literally in his territory, at the mercy of the system that he has been through and learned to play along with.

the same can't be said about luka when he sees hyuna again:

the warmth of his fan color disappears, replaced by a colder indigo. the audience, his fans, the aliens that he knows how to use to keep himself alive mean nothing to him right now. it's this cold feeling of shock that makes him so unsure of how to react.

in this moment, he is no longer luka the performer, luka the idol, luka the twice winner of alien stage—he's just luka. he's vulnerable to emotion, an unfamiliar thing, and he's so painfully human.

luka: (sees hyuna) holy shit it's you... mizi: till is literally dying behind you luka: this ain't about him

another detail: these shots were never shown in the mv so i'm assuming they're taken by in-universe cameras (see the red flashes in the audience), especially because of the angle (downwards pointing perspective)

The contemporary state of movie/tv adaptions is so abysmal because capitalist incentives have managed to constrict the imagination of both creators and audiences as to what an adaption is. The contemporary adaption biases hard toward these conditions for the incentive of making money:

- A story that is already widely loved and guarantees money simply via its fame.

- A change of medium (and therefore a new product to sell).

- Updating the piece and its themes for the purpose of brand safety/longevity, safe political commentary, and/or pink/green/ect. washing.

This is a poor list of conditions for an adaption. Its responding to all the wrong incentives (making money) instead of the incentives adaptions are best suited for, which are centred on creating Quality Art! For example:

- Revitalising/reintroducing forgotten, neglected and marginalised art.

- Elevating art that had promise but inspires frustration or dissatisfaction.

- Remixing art that is fundamental in culture in order to make challenging, transgressive commentary on culture.

- Taking art with excellent but well explored themes and building from them via transformation and adaption, so a uniquely nuanced and richly layered tapestry of themes results.

The only media I see really using adaption to its full potential is fan work. Fan work is so significantly rooted in passion over money as an incentive that despite neoliberalism strangling creativity on every level, good and interesting work continues to be made within fandom. I'm sure this exists in other capital-resistant pockets, student work, community work, activist work, but the particular focus and culture of fandom is unique. Good art will be made as long as there are people who love art and want to make art inspired by it, for those 4 reasons above.

i tend to lean towards making pink edits i think! i love making pink and red edits mostly :D

and i HATE editing yellow or a light green, i don't know why i can just never get it right- except for this yayoi edit i think the yellows in this one are really nice

I've mentioned the so-called "U-Matic tapes" before, but had tabled finding footage of them bc the next step was going to involve a lot more hacking than I'm capable of. But on my most recent research quest, I got a bootleg DVD which contained an unlisted feature: my personal white whale.

So what is this? Why did I want a copy so bad?

The U-Matic tapes were found in Filmation archives, and we believe this was part of the collaborative process between Mattel and Filmation's development of the characters.

It's easy to look at the Filmation designs and see where the studio's common practices are put into effect. Hordak was changed from gray-skinned to blue so that he would pop out against the backgrounds better. She-Ra's spiraling chest emblem was made symmetrical, because they'd learned that asymmetry and stock footage do not get along during their Superman cartoon.

But this--these designs, this singular tape--this is our missing link. The common ancestor between the first wave toys and the Filmation designs. And yes, I had still images, but not in the original resolution! Not with the clapperboard! This is an entirely unexpected windfall and I'm downright gleeful. Buckle in, folks, I'm breaking it all down:

Castaspella

Ah, Castaspella. She started out with really vibrant colors actually, Justine Dantzer designed her with this whole psychedelic vibe. Her magic wheel was originally super bright, primary colors that imo would have served the toy really well. Instead of 'look at this cool hypno disk' it would be 'look at this cool rainbow hypno disk'. Kids love rainbows! I'm not biased at all!

Obviously the biggest difference aside from her color scheme is the wheel. They did have it in early Filmation passes, but like... it's a giant wheel. I imagine it's kind of a pain to animate.

Double Trouble

Double Trouble, too, had a bit of a color scheme journey. She began with magenta and red, then apparently moved into this violet-and-blue combo, before finally settling on green. And like, the first wave did need more green imo. If they'd stuck with the red for Catra and that lilac for Glimmer they could have had a whole rainbow. And like, gay bias aside, that would be lovely for collectors, or kids that like to arrange stuff by color.

Anyway they kind of stole prototype DT's color scheme for Filmation Glimmer, probably because of the aforementioned 'pop' blue brings against their standard backgrounds. And speaking of...

Glimmer

The guide who lights the way! Filmation pushed her hair much pinker than the toy's (although it's dyed purple in one episode), but otherwise yeah, that's pretty much just Double Trouble's proto-outfit, sans tulle. I should note that the leotards and so on are likely also a 'reduce the number of frames we have to draw' measure. Lou Scheimer had a very, very strict policy that She-Ra's underwear never be showed, which made a number of shots incredibly difficult to animate (the spin-kick towards the camera comes to mind). Honestly it's probably the reason for our She-Ra's shorts. But it's where things like leotards come in handy, because you can animate the action without working around modesty or fabric physics.

Catra

Catra's the biggest downgrade, in my opinion. Like I know, toys marketing being what it is, that they had to push pink. But the red looked so cool! And I know it's difficult to see in the video, but her mask used to have fur like in the prelims. That I think was more of a practical decision, since it's harder to slip a fur-lined mask over rooted hair than a smooth plastic one, but I'd kill to see some test shots with it.

We're not sure what that flocked red Battle Cat mold is--if it's an early Clawdeen/late Tinx, or a shapeshifted Catra. I'm inclined to think the former, both because the play pattern is 'this one toy can be two forms' and because they appear to have added a silver collar in place of Battle Cat's helmet. It seems to have been scrapped for her winged horse Storm, at least for this wave, which is kind of a shame. I think a red velvet Panthor would have had a lot of crossover appeal with the MOTU market (and just been awesome in general).

She-Ra

She-Ra is pretty far along conceptually on both sides of the equation. Naturally, she was the first to be designed--you can see where Mattel was leaning into a tulle and reflective sticker thing and Filmation was like "we reeeeeally want to give her a winged opera-viking-helm thing though". You can see the mask, instead of hard plastic, is like, shiny foil.

Bow

The top of Bow's cape, too--shiny foil. His bow was shaped more like a traditional longbow, and his quiver appears to have been hollow instead of a single cast piece. His outfit is actually the least changed, both in the toy's production and in developing it for Filmation. Like the only things different in the cartoon are that he doesn't have a breastplate covering his heart & abs, and that they gave him a mustache. They tried to do a full beard initially so like. Hey. Could have been hairier!

The figure on the left, under proto-Enchanta, seems to be proto-Kowl. How quickly Justine Dantzer's concept was lost. Koala, plus owl--it's not that complicated!

but Mattel wanted to make a little guy with butterfly wings instead. Explains some of the Filmation concept art, at least.

Angella

Angella was probably changed the most for Filmation. Like they kept the pink and the wing-influenced sigil on her chest (and the actual wings), but they added that blue--almost certainly for contrast--and turned her blonde. Meanwhile the toy just refined the chest design and switched from opaque white to a semi-transparent pink for the wings. 'Cause you know, toy marketing.

Frosta

Frosta, too, was relatively unchanged. Both companies opted for a lighter shade of blueon the hair, and Filmation replaced the reflective elements with white & the sheer with a different shade of blue, but other than that it was pretty much just the same process they applied with Catra's fabrics. Mattel went for texture, Filmation went for an easy-to-animate silhouette.

Other

I've talked about Justine Dantzer's original vision for the Crystal Castle even more than the U-Matics themselves at this point. She loves eagles, she was really excited about the beak elevator thing, it didn't test well & Mattel decided it was too edgy. Thus, the eventual pink situation.

Speaking of eventual pink sitatuations--did somebody say Swift Wind?

That blurry, indistinct horse shape is everyone's favorite equine, in the flesh. Guys, look! He's white! There's a blue ombre on his wings! Suddenly the dichotomy of Toy! and Filmation!Swifties seems less extreme, no?

That bird-thing on the left seems to be a proto-Enchanta, albeit very different from the final product (which was basically just a swan with a mane, not this sick ass dragon-influenced version).

The shields were just round shields, but they may have been placeholders to show off colors/materials, because we know Noreen Porter had refined She-Ra's at least by this point.

The video quality is too poor to say for certain who had a weapon and who had a comb at this point, but Catra's little item there looks significantly pointier than the comb she wound up with. Maybe a comb-ination with a knife? I for one think she should get a blade or two. As a treat. They didn't even give her a sword until wave 3, and that wasn't even her main weapon [side-eyes the Shower Squirter judgmentally]

Man I still can't believe this just turned up. Who would have thought that trying to get cleaner footage of the 1985 Duck Soup commercial could lead to this. Thank you bootleggers you are doing god's work (media preservation). If anybody wants some Rainbow Brite or the live action Japanese Spider-Man or something, I had a pretty great experience with these guys. Only complaint is that their list of included features should be way more specific. I took a gamble on finding some footage anyway & while it didn't turn up I'm far happier with this result. Also if an officially licensed version of any of their titles comes out they take it off the store, which is like, weirdly honorable? But good for them, tbh. Good for them.

sorry it took me so long to get to this! i have a feeling this is gonna be a bit long, so the rest will be under the cut :> will probably get spoilery!

PROS - expands on the dynamics between the characters- the additional lines and scenes really help you understand who the characters are and what they're like- elphaba repeating her "no im not seasick" spiel to fiyero was a phenomenal choice because it makes her "lets get this over with" line make sense! i loved that! - takes the visuals to another level and really makes you feel like shiz is this huge, beautiful, sprawling campus - makes wicked as a musical palatable to a wider audience - pays homage to the wizard of oz and the stage show quite a few times! (hi idina hi kristen your part was thee closest i got to crying during the whole movie) - erivo and grande actually make for a good pair onscreen and i love erivo's acting choices - i thought the choreo was cute idk i have always been a fan of making oz seem weird and off-kilter in terms of movement because yeah! most of these people aren't human beings and you only really grasp that when you see how they move

CONS - i feel like a lot of roles were miscast- yeoh is a great actress but not a great morrible, nessarose felt bratty rather than sympathetic (which. oh GOD i feel awful about how the movie butchered her character because giving her more agency, while a nice touch, kind of rips away the Point of nessarose which is that she HAS no agency and has no idea how to use it), bailey is very, very, very, oh so very charming but not nearly stupid enough, goldblum feels like he was just set loose on the set and told to do whatever he wanted as goldblum and not as the wizard - erivo's acting choices were brilliant like i said (i love how she performed as elphaba and she really made me feel for her) but her vocals did the opposite of leaving something to be desired- like. she did Too much i think. and i feel like no one else is saying this so maybe i'm just in love with idina which is possible but the amount of riffs really threw me off, ESPECIALLY in im not that girl because it ripped me out of the simplicity of the sadness - grande is a wonderful glinda but she lacks the stage presence that i think glinda needs to have- i think she's a good glinda for film but i cant help but think that she wouldn't be quite as good onstage, and glinda is a character MADE for the stage so i miss her theatricality, i really do - i actually think that might be a general problem though, which is that i miss the LOUDNESS of theater, where elphaba is really a whirlwind of chaos - the animals just being normal animals was. a choice i guess idk i miss the human-animal hybrids and the monkeys did not look. Good - i didnt like the costumes :( fully a me problem but they didn't feel like the characters- glinda not having a huge colorful wardrobe and leaning on pink was my greatest enemy, and fiyero looking like the other students in terms of color palette was disappointing. don't get me wrong, they all looked great and i NEED glinda's wardrobe desperately but they didn't feel like they suited the characters, and the lack of the weird assymetrical unique-yet-standardized uniforms made me a little upset. plus i couldn't really pinpoint if the emerald citizens were wearing fur and / or feathers and that is a tiny detail that i adore from the stage show - why was dancing through life so backlit - I MISS YOU SO MUCH "MAYBE THE DRIVER SAW GREEN AND THOUGHT IT MEANT GO". I MISS YOU SO MUCH VISUAL GAG WHERE DILLAMOND EATS THE WRAPPER OF ELPHABAS LUNCH. I MISS YOUUU

overall it was a good adaptation but it was FAR from perfect, and i am VERY biased towards the stage show which means this pros and cons list reflects that. idk i thought it was good but i also felt like it was lacking. i love wicked so so so much

I'm going with last year's designs because only McLaren has unveiled their newest one and I can't really remember the ones from 2022 (and I don't think they've changed that much?)

My favourite is Alpine! I love the blue & pink combo, simple as that. The McLaren is a close second, the orange *sry PAPAYA* really pops and I like my vibrant colours. I also quite liked the dark Alpha Tauri with the contrasting white bull (and the logo looks really pretty) so the money money money team really has to step up their livery game this season to impress!

Probably most excited for the Stake Kick whatever it's called reveal because the promotional material is very neon green and I'm a sucker for that.

I may or may not be biased towards bright and fun colours but it's my ranking so I get to decide! :D

I'm trying to figure out which one looks better within the redesign (personally I'm biased towards the right) because I don't want Wren to blur into the others' color palettes in stampede.

Pink and green are a big part of her design but at this phase of her story she's a medic/doctor so the lighter colors do a better job of showcasing that. I feel like the left one kinda makes her look like a farmer lmao. (Also I used a Victorian nurse's/doctor's apron because it's not too obvious but still stylish.)

click to see their full details! if you can't tell, i've always been unicorn biased. more info about them is below the cut!! but i've really had so many ponysonas, it's bonkers.

pony prime is called "the original" since she was the first oc i ever made. i couldn't decide between being a unicorn or a pegasus, so i just picked both! i knew that having an alicorn oc was considered "cringey," but i justified it due to being native hawaiian and being related to the former bloodline (but honestly it's not as big of a deal as i thought it was then). i also liked the color turquoise at the time, and couldn't come up with a hair or eye color, so i just picked my own.

pony number 2 was a modified version of the original. chopped off her wings, changed her hair color and made it more show-style big-poofy-curl, and added accessories. i was leaning more into liking purple along with turquoise, and started going through a FNAF phase, which brought about the bowtie. it phased out in later drawings of sketche, but i figured it deserved a spot here. another important note: i drew all of my ponies with the same body type, and was still having a hard time drawing/accepting my own, so all of the ponies up until the most recent are thin.

here's a more literal case of FNAF phase. wisp isha was literally a ponified version of my FNAF insert, wisp the wolf. she was also the first ponysona to have a cutie mark, with a red cross symbol and wrench (she performed repairs on the other bots). originally her second name was "urufu," which was the word that google gave me for "wolf" in japanese. it's just "wolf" written out in japanese kanji. i don''t remember where i got isha from, though.

inky emerald didn't even really have a name! i was experimenting with my ponysona, and tried a ponysona making challenge, which spit this girl out. things like species and hair length were determined by your date of birth, of course. she's called "inky emerald" because she has ink covering her legs and hooves, which you can't really see due to the frame. around this time, i had a few other place holder ponysonas, but they all culminated into inky.

snow blossom was one of my favorites when i made her, but as her name implies, she is as pale as the snow itself. and as much as i'll joke about being "reflective" online, i'm actually not this pale haha. anyways, this is where i started leavning more towards a flowery theme and using green in my designs. i think i drew her a couple of times, but after that, she faded into the background and i stepped back from drawing ponies for a long while.

lilac was my return to ponies after about a year and a half of not touching them. it feels like the break was longer, but it wasn't. couldn't get rid of ponies in my brain if i tried ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. lilac willow was a direct redesign of sketche wolf. she was the second pony to have a cutie mark, which was a half-drawn flower. i aws experimenting a lot with how i wanted to draw ponies, so her design was one of the furthest from the MLP style. she looked nothing like me, though; the curls were much more relaxed, she was extremely thin, no glasses... but her design was fun. i may try incorporating her into the main blog at some point, but just in the background.

hmmmmm, i think i recognize this one.... nope. jk. this design was made when i decided to make a blog about lumerde. i wanted to incorporate my NOW favorite colors, green, pink, and yellow, and almost accidentally made fluttershy... but i think the result was fine. she's also chubby, like i am irl! i know i talk about my weight a lot but i'm trying to be more comfortable and confident about it.

and then, our current narrator herself! well, myself, i suppose. i really like this redesign and the new hair texture, and i hope this design communicates everything about how i look properly. i originally tried avoiding putting too many fur marks on my characters since the show rarely did that, but heck, it's barely even attached to the show anymore.

this feels like a lineage. but in a fun way!

Hot or cold shower - hot all the way. I refuse to step foot into a cold shower (in the middle of summer ill occasionally (very reluctantly) have a cold shower but it just doesn't feel the same. Can you really call it a shower if the walls aren't steaming up to draw on?)

Texting or calling - texting texting texting 100%. I *hate* talking out loud, and I'm also just. Incredibly bad at forming my thoughts into coherent words and then getting those words out semi-coherently so it's a lot easier to text. Plus when I'm texting I can do my. Fucked up punctuation,,, or Capitalise Important Words, or do this B3c 0-0 (and also I can add in extra random thoughts/tangents in text)

Earbuds or headphones - I got a pair of noise cancelling headphones for my birthday and I feel wrong not having them around my neck at all times. Earbuds just hurt my ears and usually fall out anyway (plus with headphones you can block out other sounds/people)

Paperback or hardcover - honestly I'm not sure if I have a preference? Most of my physical books are Paperback since they're cheaper, and they are a lot easier to carry around, but I love how important a hardcover feels. I'd say Paperback for regular books and hardcover for important books (but I read most of my books digitally anyway lmaoo)

Matte or gel - uh. Yes

Twelve hour or twenty four hour clock - another thing I don't really have an opinion on. Leaning towards twenty four hour just because the amount of times I've woken up at 2 am and panicked thinking it was 2 *pm*, and then panic even more because I can't figure out how to tell if it's am or pm on my phones clock is. Embarrassing, and twenty four hour time fixes that

Sci fi or horror - I love horror but only very specific *types* of horror (mainly psychological horror), but I love almost all Sci fi (even if it's mediocre. *especially* if it's mediocre)

Blue or green - hmm this is a tough one. I love so many shades of blue (mainly dark and desaturated blues) but GOD do I love dark/forest green. Gotta lean towards blue just because on average I'm more likely to like any given shade of blue, while I'm more picky with greens

Sunsets or sunrises - Sunsets all the way. Not just because if I'm seeing a sunrise I'm up *WAY* too early, but I also just love the feeling of sitting and watching the sunset, and then seeing the stars come out. (Plus where I live has ridiculously good aunsets I need to get some photos)

Tulips or orchids - I've literally never seen either of these before but after looking them up I *guess* Tulips? Kangaroo paws are still better though

Candlelight or moonlight - I love being outside at night with only the moonlight, it's so calming

Pen or pencil - 90 percent of the time my pencils are dulled down so I definitely prefer the constantly sharp tips of pens - also half the time I can't see my own writing in pencil but I always can in pen. Pens that smudge when you write can die by my blade though

Pandas or koalas - Pandas are overrated. I may be biased though

Gold or silver - gold is obnoxiously bright + hard to use right.

Sneakers or boots - i love my boots but also they destroy my feet every time I wear them. Sneakers are less cool but more comfortable + practical

Denim or leather jacket - Denim beloved. I hate the feel of leather jackets

Pink or purple - why he ourple

Chocolate or sour candy - sour gummy worms are literally the greatest things on earth

Drive in cinema or the theatre - drive in cinemas are cool but I love the experience of watching movies (especially horror movies) on a huge screen with a crowd of other people

Deodorant or perfume - this may be the Transgenderism(tm) speaking but I've never liked perfume. Give me the lynx xbox bodyspray any day

Pastel blue or earth tones - unless the pastel blue is desaturated/grey toned I just. Don't really like it on its own. Earth tones WITH pastel blue though

Lemonade or fruit juice - most fruit juice is way too sweet. At least lemonade isn't pretending to be helpful. (Depends on what you consider lemonade though. Lift/Solo? Fucking love em. Generic lemonade/Sprite? Eh.)

Past or future - god this one made me think for way too long. On one hand, at least you know what you're getting with the past? Like the future has greater potential for good things to happen, but also greater potential for terrible things to happen, and the concept of the unknown terrifies me. But on the other hand i don't want to just do the same thing for the rest of my life. At least the future is new, even if it's terrifying?

Pocket Chocolate , Chapter 5: Just to have you

*FLASHBACK*

5th grade, in classroom, Valentines day

Mark can remember the first time he ever felt that feeling towards another person because of you. It was the annual Valentines day party and everyone had to bring something plus valentines for the class. The class made bags to attach to the end of the desk so when the time came people could throw their candy, cookies or other goodies from home they brought for the class. Mark and his mom made fresh baked sugar cookies with pink and red coarse sugar on top. Mark attatched little cards with cheesy valentines day puns he came up with himself. Then this kid Rodney Rogers walks in with a tray of cookies as big as faces. And monogramed with each classmates initials. He walks over to you and places a cookie inside your bag. "I made this one special for you Y/N" he says then he gets to mark and hands Mark the most broken up and mangled cookie in the tray. "Sorry Minhyung yours must have gotten broken up in transit." He snickers while Mark just glares at him. Images of Rodney Rogers slipping that cookie in your bag played in his head over and over again. His giggle like a broken record. And your smile. Your smile is what broke his heart. The fact that the meanest most vile person in class could make you smile and even had the privilege of seeing your beautiful glowing smile. It made the little green monster appear. And that little green monster is what we call Jealousy.

*PRESENT DAY*

Coffee Shop

Mark wanted to play cool but he didn't like Minjae. Not because Minjae was a bad person but because he was with you. He was Jealous plainly. He was Jealous because he did not want anyone else to bask in your presence but him. It's just as impossible as it is immature. As beautiful and likable as you are it is remotely impossible for men and women alike not to take a liking to you and want to be around you. But jealousy can sometimes be strong enough to cloud rationality. So it did the same for Mark. He meant no harm. He was just jealous.

Mark: So what brings you here Y/N ?

Y/N: I was just studying with Minjae....

Minjae: Hi, nice to meet you *puts out hand for handshake*

Mark: *Just looks at Minjae and his extended hand and turns his attention back to you* Yeah so Y/N can we talk somewhere for a second ? In private ? * puts emphasis on Private*

Y/N: Yeah sure Mark, Excuse me for a second Minjae.

Minjae: Sure, take your time.

You get up from the table both you and Mark walking away from Minjae over to a small corner in the coffee shop.

Mark: Who is that guy ?!

Y/N: Are you serious right now ?

Mark: Yes, I'm serious do you even know who this guy is ?!

Y/N: Do you !?

Mark: No but that's the point Y/N. I just don't want anything to happen to you Y/N.

Y/N: Mark I'm fine. We're just partners. Nothing more, nothing less so don't worry okay ?

Mark: Okay, but I want you to know if anything happens-...

Y/N: Yeah Yeah lion of the jungle *rawr* all of that can I please get back to studying with my partner ?

Mark: Fine. Just remember...... I care about you Y/N and I won’t let anyone hurt you.

Y/N: I know Mark, Thank you. * Forms heart shape with her hands towards Mark and smiles*

Mark slowly walks backwards watching as you fade away little by little with his steps before he proceeds to turn around and walk out the cafe. You were always the only person that mattered to him and he just couldn’t see you with someone else. It hurt him deeply that you we’re laughing and talking and smiling with someone else. It wasn’t that he wanted you all to himself he knew he dad to share you with others like your friends. Just not with any other guy whether you thought of them that way or not he couldn’t stand it.

Minjae: So what do you think of this Y/N ?I feel like it will work really well with all that we have right now.

Y/N: I think we have the right Idea but, the statistics are a bit biased it seems to me. We want to to have a fair and neutral outlook on buying stock and investing in larger companies. These studies lean more towards and almost makes it seem as if one is stupid for not doing so if they haven’t already.

Minjae: I agree,one says that over 80% of stock holders see residual profit in under 2-3 years. I’ve seen people do this long enough to know that that is unrealistic. wildly unrealistic.

Y/N: Yeah, see it’s self serving. Companies just want people to invest to generate more profit. It’s like the lottery. So many people are buying stock in corporate giants such as Nike, Google, etc.by the time they do go out of business if at any time people may get back like 500$ per person..

Minjae: Yeah that’s why If I put my money in anything, I wanna put it in something I know I will be able to profit from. I do small time real estate. My family have a few properties scattered around in the states. And my father has some really good business relationships with some people that work in the big 3.

Y/N: The big 3 ? like as in the entertainment companies ?

Minjae: Yep, YG, JYP, and SM.

Y/N: Wow, your parents must be some really influential people.

Minjae: Yeah they’re pretty cool. They know alot of people and they can help me get things done. Maybe even help me help you with anything you might need.

Y/N: Well.....nevermind that would be absurd plus it would probably never happen.

Minjae: Tell me, you never know. I might be able to make it happen.

Y/N: Well for my project I wanted to look at the world of K-pop from a financial perspective. And how it is marketable and how it has groomed itself to be this huge billion dollar industry. And I wanna interview EXO the group but I know that’s completely far fetched.

Minjae: Maybe not, I’ll talk to my dad his brother and his golfing buddy work in the A&R department. My cousin is also good friends with their manager.

Y/N: Really ? Oh my gosh thank you Minjae. I don’t know how I’ll ever be able to repay you.

Minjae: Don’t worry about that right now. I want you to get a good grade on this project and  I want you to have fun doing it too.

Y/N: Thanks so much Minjae, I’m so excited I can’t wait to go tell all my friends.

You busted out of the cafe with your things in hand. Running wildly towards the horizon feeling like a kid again. Minjae not being able to help but watch you fade into the setting sun with a small grin creeping across his face. He was glad to see you happy. Knowing he could make good on his promise he wasn’t stressed about it. You find yourself less than two blocks away from NCT dorm. You finally make it to the gate then to their front door. You knock and  johnny is standing tall right in front of you with the door opened consuming a bowl of fruit.

Johnny: Oh hey Y/N, what brings you by.

Y/N: Hi Johnny, I’m looking for Mark I need to tell him something.

Johnny: Come on in he’s sitting on the couch over there (allows you to pass as he throws a grape in his mouth)

Johnny; (closes front door) I’m gonna let you two love birds have your privacy.

(says through a smile)

You both laugh in unison. You turn to Mark to face him so you can look him directly in the eye while you let out all of your excitement in the form of words. You talk so fast it feels like your tongue is just going to break. You smile the whole time and breathe heavy trying to get every last word out. Mark just sits and calmly listens with a half smile. Midway through your whole spill Mark stops you to focus on one detail. 

Y/N: Oh Mark, Minjae is so nice he’s gonna try and get me an interview with EXO and-

Mark: What ?

Y/N: yeah Mark, It’s EXO and Iv’e always  wanted to be in the same room with them let alone ask them questions.

Mark: How come you didn’t ask me ?, Those are my hyungs I could’ve definitely gotten you the time you needed with them.

Y/N: Sorry Mark you kind of slipped my mind.

Mark: I guess so,  All of a sudden this Minjae guy comes around and I become invisible.

Y/N: Whoa Mark, first of all that’s not true and you know that, I would never ditch my friends for a guy especially a guy who I’m just working on a project with.

Mark: Are you sure about that, cause now it’s just I gotta get back to Minjae and my project, and Minjae is gonna do this and that and Me and Minjae and blah blah blah.

Y/N: Mark how could you say, you know i care about you

Mark: You don’t act like it Y/N

Y/N: Where is all of this coming from ?, Mark are you serious right now ?

Mark: As a heart attack

Y/N: Mark this isn’t fair you know I care about you I’m your best friend why are you doing this to me. *tears well up in her eyes*

Mark: I knew you cared about me, at least I thought you did.

Y/N: Mark * almost with a week whispering tone*

Mark; I think you should leave Y/N

Y/N: FIne. *grabs her stuff angrily and walks out the door slamming it*

Johnny: Trouble in Paradise ?

Mark: Not now Johnny hyung ?

Johnny: ...You really gotta sit down and have a long talk with that little green monster inside of you.

Mark: I don't wanna HEAR IT JOHNNY!

Mark gets up angrily from the couch goes in the room and slams the door behind him. He allows his body to crash into the bed and grabs a pillow to scream into. He knows how he treated you over Minjae was messed up but he couldn't bare the thought of you eventually wanting to be with him. That is if you even wanted to. Mark wasn't necessarily sure of himself or his relationship with you. What he needed most of all at that moment was assurance

hi robin! it's your psc anon. hope you're having a great day today <3 super basic question, but what's your favorite color and why? i'll go first! i love green cause nature is very nice and pastel green makes me feel soft things and green never had a bad track except for ugly lime colors

So it's pink partly because on the first day of first grade we were supposed to introduce ourselves and say something about us and I was like I'm Robin and I like pink. I made that bed when I was 6 and I've been lying in it ever since. I wish I had more of a thoughtful reason other than because it's pink but honestly it's been such a part of me for so long I don't have a better explanation!

My second favorite is like soft slightly teal blue. Kind of similar to you and green it reminds me of nature and specifically water. I'm very into watercolors so that's kind of along that aesthetic.

Amusingly those are the two colors I picked when doing my new mobile theme. Subconsciously biased towards my faves 😄

After recharging during tonights full moon, I finally started on what I've been meaning to for a while!

I've been meaning to make my own kind of knot magic for a while now. I looked into the existing sources on the internet and mostly found the same 9-knot formula used in Wicca.

So I devised my own: I choose the number of knots based on numerology number meanings for now because I simply needed a system for assigning meanings to the number and placement of knots but maybe I'll come up with something better in the future.

I also choose the string color(s) to add my intent:

So for the concrete spell I made: I used the second method. This works if you have synesthesia that connects letters with colors, or any other way to connect them. I used this one because it comes easy to me and felt the best in the moment.

As you can see/read, the word was overwhelmingly pink. This may be because my personal synesthesia is biased towards pink, but it's fine because it felt right.

I ended up picking green and brown wool and the numbers 3 and 1 to help me with inspiration and working on creative projects again.

I wove three threads (each one time my measurement of choice long) together, secured them to each other and the stick in three knots, and attached a small fake ear jewellery piece I had got for cosplay and a black feather. Then I tied a central knot into the woven part.

That's it! I plan to add many more spells to the stick.

If I want to cancel a spell, I can just untie the knot(s).

Disclaimer: I practice chaos magic. My main philosophy is that I can use any tool and method (if respectful ofc) as long as it feels right. It is based a lot in intuition for me. So if you want to use this method, it might be interesting to read about chaos magic, and if you wish to apply it, it might be best to follow what feels right and makes sense to you. To me personally, if I find myself feeling insecure and doubtful, it's a sign that I'm not comfortable with the chosen method and need to try a different approach.

i love blues and pinks the most! stanning seventeen is so easy for me, i'm so privileged because they really got my fave colors as their own lmfao i love green a lot too, but more as a concept because i don't wear green and don't do green gfx either lmfao like i really have nothing green but i love nature and being in it

my bias is jun! i was vernon biased when svt debuted, but during mansae era i got hit really hard with the junhui love hours because of this video. there's this part in 2:40 where they're in the v formation and it's the seungkwan's "slip into the shining diamond life" and hoshi is in the middle making them really slip into the shining diamond life and jun just looks like he really got possessed by it and it's really weird but something about it just caught my eye instantly. like i watch this fancam (there's a LOT of moments that i love about it, not all of them being jun OR mingyu related lmfao) and it always just makes me think that jun really is such a great performer. like he always gives his best to really BE there doing whatever he's doing, putting all his soul into his performance. and from this point i just started paying more and more attention to him and got to see how much of a sweetheart he is!!! and then one fine day REALLY did it for me. his positive attitude towards everything that was happening and him being "we can do it!" all the time. the sweetest boy ever!!!!!! i love jun so much he really deserves the whole world :')
