My Heart Can’t Handle You (Koby X CivilianReader)

Koby introduces his best friend to his girlfriend and his girlfriend to his best friend, would be easy if they litterally didn't make each others hearts explode!

It had been a long week of training for the two marines filled with training and dealing with the usually pirate antics of crime. But even will all the work he has to worry about, Koby had a more important thing (to him at least) on his mind. His sweet sweet adorable girlfriend that he's absolutely head over heels for. His best friend Helmeppo knew that something was up, that there was that same one thing that he would catch the pinkette staring off into the clouds thinking about.

"So, spill it!"

"H-Huh?".

The blonde rolls his eyes at his friend, like he could tell that anyway. "For the past few months you go off daydreaming, and this week has been the worst! So come on, what's on your mind so much?". He asks. The pinkette turns away with a chuckle, a colour the same shade as his hair colouring his cheeks. "Well...I guess there IS something, well...someONE". He admits. Helmeppo gasps, turning to look at his friend with shock. "You have a girlfriend!?". He yelps. Koby chuckles again softly, his cheeks darkening more at just the thought of her.

His blonde friend wraps his arm around his friends shoulders, pulling him close with a big smirk. "So who's the lucky lady? Is she a marine? Civilian? *GASP* A pirate?! Is she hot?". He asks Koby. "She's just a civilian, we met a few months ago". He explains. "And-". His face is full red, big beating hearts in his eyes. "She's the most beautiful, gorgeous and stunning woman in the world! Her beauty beats Boa Handcocks! And she's also so sweet and kind, she has the biggest heart in the world for anyone and everyone to be loved by such an angel!". He rants, stars and sparkles surrounding him.

His friend hums pleasantly, using his free arm to grab his chin and nods. "So she's a knockout, huh?". He mutters to himself. "You can meet her if you like? We're free and she should be finishing up at work soon". Koby suggests. A chance to meet a beautiful sweet woman? Absolutely! "Of course". Helmeppo agrees. "Great! Let's go!". And with that, Koby grabs his hand and drags him off into town.

The sun is still high in the sky by the time the two marines reach the small flower shop in town. As they approach, Koby grins brightly as he sees a familiar young lady standing outside arranging a bouquet of freshly cut flowers. "(Y/n)!". He calls, not loud enough to draw too much attention. Said girl turns, her face brightening when she sees him. "Koby!". She calls happily, jogging up to him. He catches her in his arms, hugging her tightly before pulling away. "It's good to see you! How have you been my strong handsome marine?". She asks, reaching up to cup his face and squish his cheeks. He chuckles at her sweet words. "I'm good I'm good, just a busy week as always". He explains.

She giggles and lets go of his cheeks, just cupping them. "Well you can be as busy as you need. I'll wait however long I need to see you, because I know you're getting big and strong to protect everyone!". She tells him in a happy tone. "Ah! I'm so proud of you! You're so amazing and adorable!". Her pitch becomes more high, starting to slightly cry. Koby smiles down at her, his eyes starting to dwell up with tears of his own. "You're so sweet for me! I don't deserve the amount of kindness from your heart that you give me! I'm so happy that I make you so proud!". He cries. The two pull each other closely, crying into each others arms.

And while all this is happening, poor Helmeppo is just watching the happy couple cry into each others arms, showing and saying how much they really love and adore one another.

Pirating OPLA, thoughts

Episode 1

Garp being at Roger's execution is a nice touch

Really like how full Luffy's dinghy is-- crates of fruit, a barrel of fish instead of just one barrel of apples--- all makes sense. All the tiny details removed from manga that are just added onto opla for realism-- like the way the execution stand works, too, with the people cranking the manual lift to get roger up there. It's all very cool and makes the setting feel more piraty than mangapiece.

Our beloved Zoro tried to go to Sixis on a cruise ship. This is a good way to casually mention Zoro earlier (plus that's Ace's first island so it actually lines up on the One Piece map to be around Dawn Island--)

"it's worth more than the rest of our loot put together" a nika mention that can be interpreted as just a devil fruit mention

"You should never let anyone tell you what you can't do. If I did that, I never would have left my village to go find the One Piece." Luffy referencing Garp like this is so funny to me

Unlike mangapiece, Luffy invites Coby along before knowing his dream to become a marine. This makes me sad because now I wish la coby joined the crew

opla Shanks is weirdly more serious than mangapiece Shanks. Not necessarily in a bad way, just different. That's the attitude I'm takign for most of opla anyways.

Adding the Mr 7 and Zoro fight here is actually really cool

Beta Nami outfit aaaaa they moved the pre-orange town ship-stealing scene to serve as her introduction scene and that works so well for her.

I love that they all naturally congregated in Ririka's bar. Everyone congregates and chaos occurs. Really like how they switched things up while never really taking things off course.

Zoro really pulled a reverse on Helmeppo lmao. "Three swords? I only need one" proceeds to get curbed by zero swords

oh! Zoro introduced himself as pirate hunter. that makes him different from mangapiece where he explicitly says at some point that he never called himself that. But it fits the opla characterisation so fair enough.

Luffy popping out of the manhole to yell 'thanks' at Zoro just sends me. Makino taught him well.

Nami being the most independent and capable girlboss up until the second Luffy literally crashes into her life and ruins her plan is actually 100% compliant with the basis of their relationship.

Oh is this the ass naked Helmeppo scene everyone's been yelling abo--- oh it is. ok.

I've never realized how badly I wanted a Nami and Luffy fighting together scene until now. I just realized how little of those we get in Mangapiece. Holy shit.

Romance Dawn trio just has this really satisfying trio cohesion that I can't describe. They're forever my favourite trio in the strawhats and opla does a magnificent job of bringing justice to what the manga couldn't give them with its chapter and page limits, since their only trio time together without being dragged around by handicaps was in the gaimon arc.

Makes me a little sad that Coby's involvement in Shells gets cut down a little, but that's fine I guess, he got plenty of touchup in his introduction scene.

Garp going silent when he hears a straw-hat pirate stole the map to the grand line. I like to think this could imply Roger also stole his map once upon a time, but for now I'm just laughing at Garp internally screeching "that STUPID GRANDSON it's been ONE DAY"

How Luffy recruited his crew- abridged edition

The simplest but also the funniest way I can describe the way the crew got together.

Koby- The notorious sword fighter Roronoa Zoro is on this island! He hunted pirates, you should leave immediately!

Luffy- Hell nah, I want that guy on my crew! He sounds cool!

Zoro- Go away, I can handle this on my own!

Helmeppo- *Plans to break the deal he made with Zoro.*

Luffy- Hell no! *Saves Zoro.*

Zoro- If I had died I would never be able to be the world greatest swordsman, thanks I guess. I suppose your my captain now.

Luffy- This clown guy is annoying. *Beats up Buggy and helps Nami.*

Luffy- You should join my crew!

Nami- Ok! *Already planning to rob them blind.*

Luffy- *Meets a weird dude with a long nose, a slingshot, and a compulsive lying issue.*

Luffy- I like this dude.

Usopp- My island is being attacked by pirates!

Luffy- *Helps with the pirate problem.*

Merry & Kaya- *Gives them the Going Merry as a thank you gift.*

Luffy- Come on Usopp, I know you wanna join!

Usopp- Fine! I'll become a warrior of the sea, like my deadbeat dad!

The Crew- *Hops on a restaurant boat for food, and meets a weird chef with swirl eyebrows.*

Luffy- Hey, join us!

Sanji- Dude, no. I'm not leaving this restaurant.

Don Krieg- *Attacks the restaurant.*

Luffy- *Deals with it, as per usual*

Zoro- Fight me! *Says Zoro, to the greatest swordsman he could never hope to beat, because he has the crazy goal of being the greatest swordsman.*

Mihawk- *Severely wounds Zoro.*

Sanji- You guys all have dreams just as crazy as mine, might as well join you.

Nami- *Steals everything from the Strawhats to make money.*

Luffy- Nah, not gunna bug her.

Arlong- *Has somebody steal the funds to by her home island from Nami, to force her to basically continue being his slave.*

Nami- Luffy... help.

Luffy- *Zero questions asked takes off to go beat that dude Arlong just because she asked for his help.*

Luffy- *Almost dies doing this, but nevertheless the mad lad does it.*

Nami- I'll actually join this time, no more robbing you guys.

Nami- *Gets really sick and almost dies.*

Luffy- A musician can wait for now, let's get her help. *Almost dies getting her help*

Chopper- *Accidentally gets spotted by Luffy, who immediately sees a reindeer and thinks "Dinner!"*

Chopper- *Transforms to get away.*

Luffy- Holy shit, a monster! Join my crew!

Chopper- *Offended by being called a monster, runs away.*

Sanji- Luffy is a monster too. Dude is literally made outta rubber.

Chopper- *Sense of camaraderie, but not enough yet.*

Luffy- *Helps him see his adoptive fathers dream through.*

Kureha- Go on kiddo, join em.

Chopper- Fine! Also I'm a doctor!

Luffy- Sweet, we needed one of those!

Robin- Theres no point in living, my research is going nowhere. Let me die.

Luffy- Absolutely not! *Saves her by force.*

Robin- You forced me to stay alive, guess I'm your problem now.

Franky- *Steals all the money from the Strawhats so they can't afford to fix the Going Merry, or buy a new ship.*

Luffy- Dude wtf. *Wrecks his base, but the money is already spent and gone.*

Usopp- I see your willingness to move on from the Merry as a personal attack, but I won't tell you that. Byeeee.

Robin- *Lets herself get arrested and sentenced to death to protect the crew.*

The Crew- Oh helllll nah! Get back here!

Franky- *Kidnaps Usopp as retribution, not knowing the situation of him leaving.*

Franky- Dude your ship is about to fall apart, let her rest.

Usopp- I know that! But the Merry is important, and also I saw a ghost fix her once.

Franky- Dude that ghost WAS the Merry. She talked to you because she loves you guys.

Government- *Kidnaps Franky and Usopp too.*

Franky- You have good friends Robin, maybe you should just let them save you.

Robin- No, I'm doing this for them.

The Crew- We literally don't want you to do that.

The Crew- *Literally wages war on the government to get their friend back.*

The Going Merry- *Saves the crew before having a tragic funeral as sea.*

Franky- You guys need a boat. It just so happens I used the money I stole from you to buy this epic wood to make a boat out of. You guys practically payed, so you can have it.

Luffy- Awesome! Now join us!

Franky- No.

Literally like a fifth of the population of Waters 7- *Steals his speedo in an elaborate game of keep away to get him to go to the Strawhats.

Luffy- Join or you can't have these back.

Robin- *Twists his balls to force him to join.*

Franky- Christ, fine.

Luffy- Holy crap guys it's a talking skeleton! Let's go talk to him!

Half the Crew- Absolutely not.

Luffy- We are doing this y'all.

Brook- Hello! Miss may I see your panties? *Asks the 90 year old skeleton dude*

Nami- Wtf? Absolutely not.

Luffy- Join us!

Brook- Yes!

Half the Crew- Luffy no...

Brook- I can sing and play instruments!

Luffy- Fuck yes a musician, finally!

Brook- My shadow was stolen so I'd die in the sun. Can't join, gotta get it back, don't follow me, BYEEEE! *Runs on the water and leaves.*

The Crew- *Accidentally ends up in the same place Brook went.*

The Crew- Oh shit zombies!

Luffy- Awesome! I wish all these monsters would join the crew!

The Crew- Dude... why.

Half the Crew- *Gets their shadows stolen by the same dude who stole Brooks.*

Brook- Use salt, it works.

Luffy- *Beats up a giant zombie with his shadow in it, and then beats up the warlord who steals the shadows.*

Luffy- Brook, join us.

Brook- No, sadly I cannot. As the last living member of my crew, I have a duty to our friend the whale, Laboon.

Luffy- Oh that whale? We know him! I drew our Jolly Roger on his face, he's a buddy of mine.

Brook- Guess I'm joining!

Jinbe- Luffy, buddy, come to the fish man island and say hi!

The Crew- *Immediately causes chaos.*

Jinbe- Dude please stop.

Luffy- Haha, no. So who do I needa punch to get you to join us?

Jinbe- I can't dude. Love you man, but I have prior arrangements.

Luffy- *Fixes the problem on the island*

Luffy- Ok now join us.

Jinbe- Busy.

Luffy- *More chaos.*

Jinbe- Fiiiiine. *Severs Ties with the Big Mom crew and joins them.*

OPLA - episode 5 first impressions

SPOILERS AHEAD.

I love that they're amateurs in this, literal kids playing pirates, with Nami being their only braincell. Several times over. Amazing. (Also, bonus point for the boob window.)

Oooooooh, we're getting official First Mate acknowledgement - even if it was meant to push Zoro towards his "job description", I am all here for it. These guys are not built to "talk emotions", never have been, never will be. And yet, Luffy still remembers every single word Zoro said to him when they first met, huh...

Sanji ("little eggplant"!!!) being a British lad swearing until the start of dawn is not something I knew I needed in my life, holy shit. He's sappy af of course, but I am glad they didn't overdo it with him.

Both Nami and Zoro being not amused by Sanjis demeanour - and the latter ACTUALLY teasing her! - is also pretty damn amazing. Bonus points for Luffy (pure, charming, milk-drinking Luffy) having no idea what "boyfriend" means.

The scene with Mihawk (also gay-coded as fuck, just like all swordsmen in this show so far... "And when I'm done with you, I'll take your captain", "though I do like your hat", huh) was the first time the CGI kinda bothered me, everything prior to it has been solid in my eyes so far.

Generally, still a big fan of the cautious-yet-on-the-same-page kinda relationship they show Nami and Zoro to have. It's just a very interesting angle, Zoro actually responding to and being curious about Nami, them throwing shade at both Luffy and Usopp is just, actually playing GUESSING GAMES about each other (and them actually being HONEST about it), is unusual but appreciated. "Why do you even care?" - "Because you're my friend, you idiot." MAN, I love their portrayal here so much.

Koby/Helmeppo relationship improving, yaaaaay!

Just like the Nami/Kaya parallel, I liked the Luffy/Sanji parallel they did here. It was very simple in execution, but that's how all set-ups between Luffy and the others have been so far, bonding over goals and dreams.

Zeff's such a Gordan Ramsey, screaming at the adult in Sanji, but being all adorable about him being his son, gaaaah.

And Nami really, really grew fond of the boys, you can feel that the power of friendship is catching up on her and it HURTS. Her holding Usopp's hand as they watched Zoro getting striked down...

Fight choreography is still stellar. And man, adding the heartbeat to the stabbing scene between MIhawk and Zoro was KILLER.

It's a shame they didn't show Sanji watching the strike down, but man... Luffy jumping to Zoro's side means everything, as always. "He said it's too early for you to die!" "If I fail to become the greatest swordsman, you'll be disappointed." "You could never fail me." "Never." Guys, that's where he fell. He fell hard. Oh, the PAIN.

I was just thinking about the Cover Stories and what they seem to be doing in the long-term. So, here are my thoughts.

Buggy's Crew Adventure Chronicles: This one is pretty basic. It shows how Buggy escaped after his defeat and teamed up with Alvida. It's pretty much tying up loose ends and showing how things happened off-screen.

Diary of Koby-Meppo: This is similar to the above, showing Koby and Helmeppo's training and revealing what happened to Morgan. Something new happened as well, debuting a character who would go on to be significant in the future. In this case, it was Garp.

Jango's Dance Paradise: This one shows what happened to Jango and Fullbody after the Syrup Village and Baratie Arcs. It also introduced Hina.

Hatchan's Sea-Floor Stroll: This one expanded on Hatchan, explaining how he ended up becoming a nicer person and running a takoyaki stand. It also introduced Camie (who's one of my favorite minor characters) and Pappagu.

Wapol's Omnivorous Hurrah: This was the one who made me start wondering about the various cover serials. I'm convinced that the whole reason Oda wrote this was just to give Wapol an excuse to attend Reverie and save Vivi. Seriously, how long has Oda been planning things out?!

Ace's Great Blackbeard Search: This one felt more like a slice of life, providing everyone a nice moment before we all had our hearts ripped out. It introduced Lulusia Kingdom, which ends up being destroyed to establish that the main, over-arching antagonist of the story is not screwing around.

Getatsu's Accidental Blue-Sea Life: This one seems to have been tying up loose ends and giving a secondary villain a new life. I'm kind of wondering if Gedatsu and his resort will come back in the future.

Miss Goldenweek's "Operation: Meet Baroque Works": It's similar to the above, redeeming some minor villains and showing their nicer sides. I don't have a lot to say about this one.

Enel's Great Space Operation: This one is one that I'm expecting to come back in some way. I mean, it revealed that the Skypeians come from the moon, that there are robots on the moon, and Enel's taken over. I just-- It has to come back. Things have gotten weirder and weirder and the history and lore of everything is getting clearer, so this has to have some importance.

CP9's Independent Report: This is one of my favorites. I like that they showed a more sympathetic side (working hard to get Lucci medical treatment, saving a town from pirates [even if Lucci does go too far], Kalifa accepting and planting a flower from a little girl). I like that we get to see Spandam getting the hell scared out of him. I also like that they stay villains after that. I mean, I like people becoming better, but I like variety in how antagonists end up.

Straw Hat's Separation Serial: This one just fills us in on what the Straw Hats were up to while Luffy was pushing himself to the limit and getting emotionally destroyed (thank you so much Akainu). It also sort of explains how they trained over the time skip.

From the Decks of the World: It's just nice to see everyone again and see what they've been doing. It doesn't foreshadow the future or expand the lore, but it doesn't have to.

Caribou's Kehihihihi in the New World: Why is this guy still here? I'm guessing that he's going to end up like Wapol. That's the only real reason I can imagine why he got this spotlight. If nothing else, we saw X Drake again.

Solo Journey of Jinbe, Knight of the Sea: It's nice to see Jinbe being his nice and helpful self. Plus, we get to see another not-so-bad minor villain getting a better deal.

From the Decks of the World: The 500,000,000 Man Arc: Again, it's nice to see everyone.

The Stories of the Self-Proclaimed Straw Hat Grand Fleet: I just like seeing Barto being himself. Plus, the expansion on Cavendish and the others is nice. And Baby 5 gets a happy ending!

"Gang" Bege's Oh My Family: They might come back. Plus, Lola is happy!

Germa 66's Ahh... An Emotionless Excursion: We get updates on the Charlottes and Vinsmokes. And they're likely to come back in the future, given that Judge and Caesar Clown have teamed up.

My prediction for the next Cover Serial is that the focus will be on X Drake, Yamato, or King.

I've recently become very very lucky! I'm a Helmeppo (One Piece) Kin and i was very nervous and shy to say anything because i kin more the Anime one than the LA (i'm noticing a lot of people only like the LA Helmeppo for some reason?) and i recently reached out to a blog that liked a post of mine. And they so happened to be a Koby kin. And even better, the way we clicked right away and have been talking the past couple of days was a moment of "This is my canon mate" and i've never had something like this happen so fast since i met my fiancé of almost 6 years. We all three have a group chat now and my fiancé pushed me to message them and i guess i just wanted a place to gush about how great it feels to have my best friend back again (and to be in such a. better place mentally with my fiancé) . I really missed him and i'm so thankful for the LA bringing us together 😭😭😭😭

Chapter 109

i wonder if this boss of theirs (baroque works), was on the island for a time, but it wouldn't make sense since it doesn't seem like they know anything about him except maybe his code name.

miss wednesday calls zoro 'mr bushido', which means 'the way of the samurai'.

i don't know how or why luffy didn't wake up when he was being taken hostage. these straw hats can apparently sleep through everything.

Chapter 110

since i haven't mentioned it before, it's nice to see what koby and helmeppo's been up to through the cover stories. i'm cheering them on to become great marines.

mr 5 and miss valentine makes an appearance. it really doesn't bode well that these underlings doesn't know who the top officers are. i wonder if the organization works well because of the anonymity or despite it. in my opinion building an organization on mainly secrecy would breed more untrustworthiness than it would loyalty. question is would these people still work for baroque if they knew who runs it, i'm guessing for a lot of them the answer would be no.

seems we have some infiltrators in baroque works who knows the boss's identity. which begs the question were they able to infiltrate because of baroque works main thing being that all it's agents are anonymous. is that what made it easier to go undercover.

revealed that the town mayor who's also mr 8 aswell as miss wednesday are the infiltrators. both are apart of the monarchy from alabasta. mr 8 is revealed to be the commander of the royal guard whose name is iggaram and that miss wednesday is the princess of alabasta neferetari vivi.

gotta love name's hustle. asking iggaram for money in exchange for helping him and vivi.

A/N : Okay, I am just obsessed with Koby and there aren’t many scenarios with him so thought I might over indulge and write something. 

Overview: You and Koby were childhood friends but haven’t met in four years...

« - I am coming ! »

You get out of your room, wondering who was paying you a visit so late. You open the door slowly, carefully, only to discover a man in a marine uniform. You narrowed your eyes, scanning his familiar silhouette. Pink hair, gentle eyes, it could only be...him. You put your hand on your lips, retaining a shriek of surprise. Whenever you thought of Koby, you were only met by the image of the small child that you used to play the pirate and the marine with. The person you had in front of you now was nothing like that child, it was different, but the eyes were the same.

-It has been such a long time, (Y/N)-san. I am sorry that I didn't tell you in advance, I wanted to keep it as a surprise. He smiles and rubs the back of his neck.

-Koby-san !

You try to hold your excitement, feeling as if you were in a dream. You two haven't seen each other in more than four years. Four years of solitude. You only heard that he has joined the marines two years ago, and that's how you kept in touch by exchanging letters.

-Please get in. You say, opening the door a bit wider so he can get inside. You notice now that he grew way taller than you. To say that you used to tease him about his height...You couln't retain a smile while taking his coat, asking him to get comfortable.

-I hope that I am not bothering you. I didn't think much before coming. I was on duty on the island and-...

-Why are you acting like we are strangers ? You can come whenever you want. I am...really happy that you did.

You were a little embarrassed since you weren't used to seeing him in person. It's true that you both exchanged long letters in which Koby described his marine life to you, but being next to him, right now...Made you feel like you were meeting for the first time. He on the other hand, seemed more assured, nothing like the self conscious little boy that you used to know but so similar at the same time.

-I am happy too. You have changed a lot, (Y/N)-san. He says with a little smile.

-Says who ! You are taller than me now. You say with a pouty face. Wait for me in my room, you point to the door with a hand gesture, I will bring some tea.

Koby makes himself comfortable. It was also now a strange feeling for him. The feeling of having always been there for you through words but also one of being strangers. He takes a sit and first thing he notices is a pile of letters next to your bed ; his letters ? He smiles at the sight. Koby has always been extremely moved by how much effort you put into keeping in touch. When he received your first letter after he joined the marine, he was surprised that you still remembered him and that you even wrote him. None of his childhood friends have done that, but you did. He still remembers your shaky handwriting, the same flowry paper that you always use and the very first words that you wrote ;

« Dear Koby-san,

I am not sure if you remember me but I am (Y/N),

we used to play together when we were kids. »

Of course he did remember. He even recalls the happiness of having someone write to him almost religiously. You never missed a holiday, a birthday, anything. Anytime something will show up about the marines in a newspaper you would write to him to make sure that he was doing alright. He chuckles when he thinks about Helmeppo asking if these letters were from his mom.

Your words were always there when he needed someone, encouraging when he lost confidence, entertaining in the long lonely nights, a clutch, a breeze of innocence in his world.

Your silhouette shows by the frame of the door, ruddy cheeks, shaky hands, noticing the scattered letters on the night stand. You put the plate on the table and hide away the letters in a drawer under his amused gaze, he didn't recall you being so shy. You take place next to him, pouring black tea in porcelain cups. He looks at your shaky hands and says ;

-You used to hate black tea.

He inexpected you more in details, it was true that you were also far from the little girl that he knew. Actually, he surprised himself quite a few times imagining your face through your words but it was nothing like the woman that he had next to him. He gets a little distabilized by that thought, and you look at him with big eyes, trying to figure out what he was thinking about.

-You looked so cool in that uniform Koby-san... ! I am sure that you will become soon an admiral !

You said, trying to make the atmosphere a bit lighter, making him choke on his tea and say while waving his hand in front of his face

-I still have a way to go ! (Y/N)-san !

-You will be there in no time ! I am sure. You laugh lightly. Then, you tell him to wait for a second before taking a book out of your drawyer and putting it on your legs. Look what I have found last time by the way !

He looks at the book with an interested face before you open it. It was an old photo album with yellowish pages. Inside, there were many photographs of you. He remembers the girl-child with full cheeks and a contagious smile that was now imprinted on his lips. You turn the pages and then stop pointing at a picture of the both of you ; Him dressed up as a marine boy and you wearing a red-like cape, how old were you ? 8 probably ? You smile at that memory and say ;

-I really miss those days ! You were so cute, and you had such big cheeks. I'm sad that I can't pinch them anymore now !

Koby blushes and tries to take the picture off you hand but you hold it above your head before jumping on your feet like a kitten ;

-(Y/N)-san ! That's so...give it back. His voice was adorable,

-What ? Are you embarrassed now ?

-No it's just..

-Hehe ! Don't tell me that you are too shy ? You say with a playful voice.

Koby gets up and holds you by the wrist, you get a bit surprised but then you try to move your hand away from him, teasing him further. However, you didn't expect the man to have this much force and you fall back on your bed, making him lose balance as well. You open your eyes only to discover that Koby was now on top of you, your hand letting the picture go and fall on the ground. He lets go of your wrist and you both look deeply into each others eyes, distabilized by the sudden proximity. The proximity and the heat of the moment made you remember that he will only be spending a few hours in your presence. Your heart started beating fast thinking that it was your only chance to tell him what you have hidden for so long. You didn't want to do it like a coward, you didn't want to have hopes for the next four years, who knows when you will be able to meet again ?

« I want to be more than friends, Koby. »

Your words were fast, blunt, surprising. Koby wasn't able to process what was happening, you just went from zero to nine. You were always that way, so random, impredictible, always acting on the heat of the moment ;

- I am going to kiss you now. You whisper.

- huh ?

You didn't wait for him, you took his hand in yours, it was warm and a bit moist, was he as stressed as you were ? You closed your eyes, intoxicated by his smell ; a mixture of soap and cologne. At first, he didn't know what to do, feeling your soft lips just brushing against his. He stayed inert for a second then, he instinctively pinned your wrists by each side of your head, firmly yet gently. You let yourself go, you let yourself get guided by the weight of his body, engraving every single moment in your memory. I don't want to let go of him...You were eager, not willing to let go, you kissed him passionately as if you tried to pour all your love in that gesture. His mind was a wreck, his head was clouded, he has never thought that he wanted to kiss you that much , that you both needed it. When the kiss had to come to an end, Koby separated your lips, rosy cheeks, eyes meeting yours, half open. You held him by the collar, bringing him closer, an ocean of yearning mirrored in your irises.

-I kissed you anyways...

This time, it was him closing the gap between your lips. It was different, rougher, desperate, teeth tugging at his lower lip. One hand got lost in his hair while the other one rested on his chest, surprised to discover how fast it was beating, almost as fast as yours.

-(Y/N)-san... He says puzzled, not understanding how things turned up this way that quickly, nor what he was feeling at that moment and why he enjoyed it so much.

-..I...I wanted to...I have always liked you, Koby-san...That's why I...I looked for you everywhere...I want more...Than just friends.

Looking at you so fragile under his body made his heart melt. Nobody has ever waited for him for that long. He thought about the times that your words have cheered him up and about the times that you spent together as kids. He even thought about the promise that you have both exchanged, one day, in your yard. His hand brushes your cheek softly ;

-You still remember our promise then...He says.

Could it be ? What was just despair in your eyes turned into hope. You nodded, now encercling his chest holding him closer ;

-Then hurry up and become an admiral...

Favorite Fallout Ship: This really should be easy; I should easily say "LW x Fawkes", given how much I've written of it. And I think I'd still call that the winner. But a close runner up, worthy of mention, is SS x Nick Valentine. Ugh, such good ships, both. (Here’s one of my own drawings.) 

2. Your newest ship: Huh... It's a toss-up between Luffy x Jinbe, and Luffy x Katakuri, since they both become relevant around the same time. (Here’s a cute Luffy and Jinbe.) 

4. Favourite m/f ship: To avoid saying LW/Fawkes too much, I'll say it's Varric x Cassandra, from Dragon Age Inquisition! (RIP Cassandra’s head in this pic, but oh well.) 

6. Favourite f/f ship: Gosh, I dunno if it's actually my favorite, but of recent ships I'd say Siora x de Sardet, from Greedfall. You can romance Siora as a male character too, but I just see it working better with a female de Sardet. (Not my de Sardet, but a nice one anyway.) 

8. Most fluffy ship: Oh, Takeo x Yamato, from Ore Monogatari! Holy moly, what a pair of cuties, and what a cute anime! Super recommended if you like romcoms; I'm gonna go watch it again right this second haha (Gosh look at these goofballs.) 

10. Most smutty ship: Y'know, I'm just gonna say Symbrock (Venom/Eddie) by virtue of the whole body-sharing experience. I think the fandom is like inherently, inescapably horny lol. (And by fandom I’m also including the very horny canon comics.) 

12. Character that you can only imagine in one ship: This used to be like... everyone. I really never used to be a multishipper. But I've been around too long now; lol I have too many ideas. So who would never be shipped with anyone other than their one perfect OTP? Never ever? *sits here for any eternity* Ok, I gotta say it's Helmeppo from One Piece. Look, it's Coby or bust, partly because they're perfect partner-besties, and partly because nobody else would put up with his shit other than saintly Coby. (He’s a pretty good boyfriend though; haha this episode killed me.) 

14. Character that you can’t imagine in any ship: Genuinely, this question just sounds like a challenge to me, but a lot of One Piece villains could fit this bill. I'll just go ahead and say Perospero. (Ahh shoot now I'm imagining him in a hate-ship with Pedro, but oh well. No take-backsies.) (I hate his tongue so much.) 

16. Characters that you kinda ship but prefer as brotp: After the Whole Cake Island arc, Luffy x Sanji fits this pretty well. They have a very intense relationship (in this arc, esp), but I think it works best platonically. (God I love the opening for this arc so very much.) 

18. Guilty pleasure ship: I don't think there's a point in feeling guilty, so it's either all my monster ships or none of them XD NEXT QUESTION. (Pictured: Elias and Chise from Ancient Magus Bride, because they didn’t manage to feature in any of the other questions.) 

20. Ship that you liked but don’t anymore: I don't think I've ever really stopped liking a ship, but on the rare occasion it sort of gets replaced, and the only time I can remember that happening is in Fullmetal Alchemist, where I shipped Roy x Ed ages ago, and then the reboot did a much better job of presenting the mostly-canon relationship of Roy x Riza, so I didn't have as much reason to support the non-canon ships anymore pffft. (Look at them though. I do still like them. And this picture is rad.) 

22. Ship that you immediately fall in love with after one scene despite not considering it before: I mean I guess Luffy x Katakuri. To be honest, I'd had a friend mention being into them, but I wasn't caught up on the anime so I was like "pffft, why?". And then their fight scene just got so.... !!! Like...!!! Like, these were enemies in a life-or-death battle, but you could SEE THEM start to like and respect and admire each other during this long-ass fight. Katakuri goes through literally an entire character growth arc during this fight, and by the end he's clearly thinking, "Okay, this pipsqueak is like no one I've ever met before; he's special, and I'm kind of honored for him to kick my ass, and also I hope he comes back to visit me one day, uwu". It, uh, it was an experience haha. 

24. Biggest notp: I really only get NoTPs when I'm heavily invested in something. Back when I was into BNHA, I really didn't like Izuku x Todoroki, but since I'm not as into the series anymore, it doesn't bother me. I suppose right now my "nope"est pairing would be... uh... LW x Jericho, from FO3? I never cared for it to begin with, but it's really right-out in my current fic series. (I should have found a nicer picture but “Alright then” sums up my feelings about them.) 

26. Characters that you like in every dynamic (lovers,friends,enemies) : I mean, not to rehash a ship again, but Luffy x Katakuri for sure, because they already are basically frenemies. (Look at that drawing! Even Oda knows they’re meant to be buddies!) 

28. Ship that you expected to ship before reading/watching franchise and you don’t: Hmm. I'm sure there is one! I try not to have a lot of preconceived notions when I watch something... Well, I didn't expect this before the series, necessarily, but I always kind of thought I'd get into Tony Stark x Steve Rogers, but I just... never really did. Seemed like something I'd like, but it didn't catch on, even before other options became available. (Fun memes though.) 

30. Favourite canon ship: EVER? Gosh, uh, let's go with Goliath x Elisa from Gargoyles! Ahh yes, someone made a good decision with that one!! Bring back whoever wrote that series! (I’m blessed by this canon gif.) 

32. Favourite ship for hurt-comfort: For recent stuff, let's definitely say Kiddway (Edward Kenway x 'James Kidd' aka Mary Read), from Assassin's Creed 4. BOY, they just had to hurt me like that in canon! Their story seemed absolutely ripe for H/C. I really should write some fic.(God look at that little wink.)

34. Ship that you never expected to ship when you were younger but here you are: HMMM what series did I like before shipping was a thing? OH OKAY here's one: Zelda x Ganondorf. I definitely accepted the 'Zelda/Link is basically canon' line as a kid, so shipping either of them with the Big Bad Ganon was not remotely on my mind. In fact, I don't think I'd have ever considered it if it weren't for A Tale of Two Rulers. (Ugh man I wish I could paint like Lor does.)

Episode 4

"Isn't it weird that someone wanting to be the Pirate King has no idea how to navigate the sea" Yes, yes it is. Luffy you need to learn how to travel by sea, not just drift in barrels

Shanks is also handsome, and I like his personality as this laid back cool guy with a sense of humor. It's easy to see how his personality rubbed off on Luffy.

Alright, so far I've gotten 3 characters I like within 4 episodes. I'll add to the husband/wife list when applicable but so far we got: Batman, Zoro, and Shanks.

I'm interested in seeing Buggy. Also yay, Redhead Girl and Luffy finally have a chance to meet. I mean I know shes gonna become one of his nakama and join the crew, but I'm excited to see them interact for the first time.

Thoughts About OPLA

I like it a lot. It's not perfect, but what is? It's easily the best live-action manga adaptation. The actors are perfect, the effects are excellent, everyone involved clearly loves One Piece, the plot is well-translated, and the changes actually make it more interesting in my opinion. I don't mind the extra gore; in some ways, I feel that it fits this version of One Piece even better that if it was kept similar to the anime/manga. I also like that, unlike Oda, the show has no qualms about killing off minor characters. My only quibble is that, in the future, I'm hoping there are more episodes in a season. There's a lot of One Piece, and there's only so much that can be removed without unbalancing the story.

Random, specific things I like:

The actor who plays Koby. They were practically born for the role and they make the character even more adorable.

Krieg getting killed off. He's easily my least favorite part of the East Blue Saga and him getting axed was rather satisfying.

The bounty posters that show up with various pirates' first appearances. I love the way they look, the fun and slightly intimidating way they blow across the screen, the person with the bounty casually destroying them.

The set design is magnificent.

Helmeppo's bare ass, not as a form of fanservice, but for the sheer WTF-ness of the whole scene. Seeing a single picture of it makes me laugh hysterically. I'm calling it now: That scene is in the top 10 Funniest Scenes in One Piece, if someone will compile that list.

Buggy. Jeff Ward shines as him, they made him surprisingly scary while still foreshadowing his humorous turn, the make-up is wonderful, they got his Devil Fruit right, and I love him the way he looks when Luffy tells him that he can't make people love him.

I like that they showed Mr. 7. I don't know why; I just do.

Inaki (I can't figure out how to add the tilde to his name) is perfect as Luffy. I mean, everyone is perfectly cast, but he stands out. He captures the innate "no brain-cells" look of the character.

Usopp and Kaya becoming officially a couple.

Kaya in general, really.

Stuff I hope to see in future seasons (mostly pre-timeskip, because if I listed everything, this would go on forever):

The Eleven Supernovas. Several of them are some of my favorite One Piece characters, period, so I'm excited by the mere idea. Very specifically, I think that once I see their bounty posters with them in their introductions, I'll expire from bliss. I'm particularly interested in how they'll portray Law, Kid, Killer, and Drake. I think it would be cool if in, I'm guessing season 3 or 4, each episode has a stinger featuring one of them and their crew, with Law being the last. The best part is, if they stick to the eight episode seasons, they'll be able to feature each of them anyway, as Kid and Killer are part of the same crew.

Camie. Hopefully, Hatchan being adapted out doesn't mean she won't show up. She is my all-time favorite minor character, after all.

I can't make up my mind about what the best way to portray Chopper would be. Maybe a combination of all of them?

I can't wait to see Ace!!

With things being bloodier, Marineford is going to be even worse.
