You should share your silly little guy lore :D
KYAHAHAHA!!! You've fallen into my trap! Now y'all MUST listen to a patented Ink Ramble^TM once again!
Okay, okay, so!! Since the lore for this lad is relatively new and I still don't know everything about DSAF, there might be some things missing, but I'm gonna try my best!
They're a Spirit who's inhabited the Flipside for as long as it can remember, drifting between the different layers and watching life in the Real World go by! They exist throughout all the different timelines and endings (through temporal soul shenanigans that I will explain later), and can do that thing that Dave does with being able to see through Davetrap's eyes into the living plane, but in a way that's more like astral-projecting themself into a Fazbender's location to interact with other characters!
It acts much like your standard poltergeist, causing mischief and being spooky, but she's actually not inherently malicious. His behavior is moreso spurred on by boredom and lacking true purpose until someone starts causing problems for the restaurant. When this happens, they'll leave the Flipside and make a point to annoy whoever is causing havoc into having morals!
They're also a bit like Jack and Blackjack in the sense that they're "a soul separated from a body," but, the thing is, it never had a human form in the first place. Its ultimate goal is to get a human body to possess and "become a whole person!" However, when he's tried to find bodies in the past, none of them have quite stuck. There's always some force keeping her from staying in any one form for too long, like a repellent that's meant to get rid of pests. Or maybe there's just some tie that can't be severed between a body and a soul that was unfairly ripped away, such as with Fazbender victims...
Anyways, moving away from that sad stuff, onto the aforementioned temporal soul shenanigans! I'm taking a few liberties with this, cuz although we learn a good amount about the nature of souls from Henry's tapes, anomalies certainly can exist, with my lad being a prime example of such! They're not a clear soul of a child anymore, but I'd like to think that they started out as just a little, goopy thing floating around the Flipside, with no one to talk to or acknowledge their existence. Over time, they grew more saturated, yet not as dark as the souls that come from an adult's regret/deeper emotional palette. It does experience strong feelings, though, and has a portion of itself that came from the regret of witnessing the atrocities committed in various locations, but not being able to do anything about it. Without a body to act with and a weak grip on reality most of the time, it couldn't do much else but watch, y'know?
The main thing that causes them to travel through time and space, however, is the fluctuations in control it experiences with the large amount of energy it has in the culmination of its being. Confused yet?? Me too! Lol. Ahem, what I mean is that their soul has a large amount of energy contained in an unstable vessel. They obviously have no physical body to contain the power that they have, which I believe correlates to one's manifestation in the Flipside. I say this because we see characters like Peter and Steven who are still phone-heads in the Flipside despite being humans initially. It's an "if, then" statement imo. "If I was a phone-head in the real world, then I am a phone-head in the Flipside." Since the first part of this type of statement doesn't exist for my lad, they don't have anything to base their looks or strength/stamina off of. This fluidity of stability then causes temporal dissonance to occur, because, like Henry describes in his tapes, if a soul has enough strength (or strength in a given moment), it'll be able to move through time and space! Through this random movement which they can't control at first, they get pushed to different timelines and endings!!
Their behavior can change with each ending, too! I'm gonna use DSAF 3 as an outline to what they might do, mostly cuz there's more content to work with lol. Here are some exaples of how they may change!
â˘If the player proceeds with the Evil/Legacy Route, the Spirit becomes restless and upset, which leads to it appearing sometime after Dave's death and berating the player so that "YOU NEVER KNOW PEACE" after becoming a vessel for Henry. However, if a few other criteria (that I haven't figured out yet ^-^") are met, the Spirit will be sent on a journey of self-doubt and discovery that's prompted by the question: "Where did I, as a being that was never meant to exist, yet created by someone/something regardless, come from?" This causes it to learn about the Joy of Creation, leading to a line of reasoning that the monster person responsible for orchestrating all the tragedy across numerous locations must be their inventor, because this tragedy is all they've ever known. [I'm still working out the exact logic of this timeline, but I hope I got the general idea across!]
"SINCE I AM A CReated being and HENRY is a Creator, he must be my Origin..."
â˘When the player gets the neutral end, the Spirit is mostly just...disappointed. Sure, the player ran a successful restaurant and saved the modern image of Fazbender's, but that's nothing compared to helping free souls and defeating a great evil! They might encourage the player to chose a different path in order for something better to happen, but if the player doesn't listen to him, she'll either watch from the sidelines with a miserable attitude, or become a problem for the restaurant in order to spark a change of heart.
"YOU HAVE AMOUNTED TO NOTHING. how can you be proud? none have achieved their happiest day. it's all MEANINGLESS."
â˘For the Good End, the Spirit commends the player on their work to save everybody's souls and get closure! Yay! (Honestly, I still have to think about this route some more, but I do have an idea of how it all gets resolved.) At the very end, I can see the Spirit being content with everything going up in flames, even grateful that a few more people were released from suffering despite the fact that it can't follow them. However, this state of calm probably wouldn't last long, and they'd be shoved through time yet again so as to keep existing as they are instead of fading away like everything else.
"i cannot ASCEND with you all. I WILL WATCH AS IT BURNS AND SIMPLY REMAIN AS I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN. THOUgh...PeRhaps I was too harsh with some of you. Thank you. For all that you have done."
And that's nearly everything about this lad that I have so far! I hope y'all like my silly lil guy!!

no one else has reblogged ask meme Mondays so I'm just going fucking apeshit with u. from the big boy: b7 for raini bc it's funny, c1 for cog bc it's inchresting, h3 for brilliance bc I know there's some gay shit going on and I want to hear more, then a17 (character proud of themselves or ur proud of ur rp as them) L5 and L6 for whomsoever u want to talk about
I wonât need a readmore for this one, I tell myself. Thereâs not that many questions, and theyâre not proseboys. I was a fool. Sheâs too long to be allowed to run on peopleâs dashboards unrestrained đ Thank you! For going apeshit!!
Raini
B7. How do they respond to babies crying in public? I guarantee the image you have for how Raini would react to a crying baby is 10000% correct. Sheâs unhappy. Uncomfortable. Unimpressed. Can you please make that thing be quiet. Why did you have it if you canât mange it. This is why sheâs never having kids. Like sheâs not gonna say anything to the parents or shoot them dirty looks, because sheâs not that specific flavor of asshole, but sheâs going Mind Her Business and vacate the premises if possible. People who want to take care of something should just get a cat. Goddamn. There is ONE (1) baby that may qualify for an exception, and thatâs Red. This is because (and please, picture Raini, the absolute picture of âfed upâ, squatting down to look a fussy Red in the eye while she says this) âBaby Lent. Youâre better than this. I know you are, and youâre letting me down. You need to stop making that noise.â This is unrelated to the question, but please also picture a Raini who was asked (blackmailed?) into babysitting using her Mage Hand to change Redâs diaper. It has nothing to do with the question but I think itâs a Very funny mental image. Thank you.
Cog
C1. Does your OC have a moral code? If not, how do they base their actions? If so, where does it come from, and how seriously do they take it? Absolutely! The way Cog approaches the world is defined by three main mantras: - Kindness is a discipline, not a character trait. - Doing the right thing isnât always easy, but it is always worth doing. - If you are able to help someone, you have an obligation to do so. Between these three things, Cog sees the world in pretty black and white terms. There are right decisions, and wrong ones. The difference between the two is usually clear to anyone who cares to look, and so most of the evil in the world is born of selfishness. Consequently, Cog does very poorly in morally grey situations. She will commit without hesitation to any course of action that she deems ârightâ and âkindâ no matter how drastic or dangerous it is, but she pretty much shuts down the second sheâs faced with a decision that has consequences for someone regardless of what she does. Iâm sure that has not, and will not, come in her life ever at all. Ahah! I think originally, this worldview was born of naivety. She grew up that religious kind of super sheltered where everything in the secular world was dangerous and dirty, and so when Cog began to realize that definitely wasnât the case she made the choice to intentionally see the best in people and the world around her to fight what she was told growing up. When she started traveling with her party and actually seeing more of the world than the extremes of a) shitty cult town b) shiny clean magic school, she began to realize that the true state of the Wasteland was somewhere between what her Mama had told her and what she wanted to believe it was. But Iâve never in my life made a character who is stubborn as hell deep down, so instead of letting the world she found herself in change her Cog took a deep breath, rolled up her sleeves, and settled in to be the one changing it by loving and helping the people around her.
Brilliance
H3. Does your OC believe thereâs only one ideal partner (or multiple ideal if not monogamous) for everyone, or that there are many people who could be right? I think Brilliance absolutely adores the idea of two people being made for one another. Two souls, wandering the world looking for one another? Who slot together so perfectly that when they find each other itâs clear they never could have fit anywhere else? Bruh. Yes, she knows love takes work. Sometimes you and your partner are going to disagree, and sometimes thereâs going to be conflict. The world isnât âlove at first sightâ then smooth sailing for the rest of your life. But you put in the work to make your lives better, together, because the universe gave you this person to care for. Maybe there are many people who you could be happy with, and those relationships arenât anything to look down on. But when you find The One, Brilliance thinks, you know. She certainly did.
Donât Worry About It
A17. Whatâs one of your OCâs proudest moments of themselves? Gonna hijack this question to talk about rp moments Iâm proud of because Alex sorta kinda gave me permission to do that! Alright! For Raini, the biggest rp moment Iâm proud of was her âIâm getting our memories backâ speech a few sessions ago, specifically the line, âWeâve been fighting with one hand tied behind our backs for too long. If weâre going to die fighting this thing, I want to know exactly what Iâm fighting for.â Morgan and I had been planning to kick off our return from July Hell Hiatus with Wish Two for a couple of days, which meant I was lucky enough to be able to spend a little while planning what to say. I feel like that line in particular embodies Rainiâs unwavering confidence in her magic, her determination, and her specific brand of caring for the people around her without actually admitting thatâs what sheâs doing. I also really liked the way the scene of her apologizing to the party for being Bitchy post losing Magic for a minute went! Idk if anyone else remembers it, because it was pretty short in game, but! I thought it was a very good moment of Raini finding the most Roundabout way to say âthank you for looking out for me while I was defenselessâ. If I can pat myself on the back a little, my Cog monologues kick Ass. The most recent one was when she was talking to Ace about how War is Bad (radical, I know) and there was a moment where she looked at him and said, â...Iâm not going to ask for your help, because I donât know what Iâll do if I do and you say no.â Which. OOF. That was her and I realizing in real time that she and Ace were very much on different sides of this issue. When the session ended everyone said they Loved how good and hurtful that conversation was and I :â) Also, there was a really small moment when Cog was pleading for Maeloâs life (when Sunnyâs dad had him locked in a cat carrier. Itâs a Long story, made slightly better by the fact that Maelo was wildshaped into a cat at the time) and Cog went Straight for the dad heartstrings by sniffling and asking if, please, would Robert at least let her say goodbye to her friend before he killed him? Please? đ˘Â She is using her baby face for EVIL! And oh my god how could I forget! Arcane Timeout! When the party went back to New Alexandria and was confronted by Ace for helping a prisoner escape (which, in fairness, Maelo did do) and Cog brought the encounter screeching to a halt by casting Wall of Stone to make a timeout hut with herself and Ace inside. She then sat herself down, looked Ace dead in the eye, and told him that the wall wasnât coming down until he actually talked to her, or until he broke her concentration on the spell. She banked hard on him not being willing to hurt her, and it paid off. There were tears all around, both in and out of character. It was Wonderful. Also! I do just want recognition for the fact that I did not give into my impulses to be a little Shit as Cog last session by subtle casting Heal in Aceâs face after he Counterspelled my Healing Word. it was what I Rebekah wanted to do more than anything; unfortunately Cog is a better person than I am. There is No worse feeling than wanting so badly to do something you have no choice but to admit isnât in character. Rip. For whatever reason, all of my favorite Brilliance rp moments came during combat. Pressing her forehead to Sabreâs after he died in silent grief, forcefully taking a Narzugon off his Nightmare and then using Misty Step to mount it herself and take off after her friend, planting herself in the chokepoint of a hallway to stare down three minotaurs so she could keep her party safe behind her, pushing deeper into the hellwasp nest to rescue Dembe and Sabre despite knowing that doing so all but destroyed her chance of making it out alive, the list goes on. There were good out of combat moments too (despite the rest of the partyâs best efforts đ), but I feel like for once I made a character who really shone in combat. oh GOD I just remembered one really really good rp moment, when our rogue Zihro died when he got separated from the party during combat. We finished taking care of the main devil we were fighting, then began searching the dungeon for Zihro and the npc he was with. We, instead, found both of their corpses. Dembe looked to Brilliance, our healer, and demanded to know why she was just standing there instead of fixing their friend. We were only level three or four at the time, so Brilliance had to tell Dembe, again and again, that she couldnât fix Zihro. It was too late, she wasnât powerful enough yet, her goddess wouldnât answer a prayer like that- It was a rough scene, and without question one of the best rp moments Iâve had with that group. Tae, if youâre reading this, youâre the only one with rights. Also, please unfollow this blog immediately. Now as a quick pick-me-up after that mess, Pipâs best rp moment was when our barbarian Durokal -who couldnât read and had a habit of running off and causing Problems- found a plaque he could tell had five words on it, and called Pip over to read it for him when Pip finished chasing him down. Pip, annoyed and out of breath and all of two feet tall, looked up at this 7 foot half-orc and told him, âIt says: Iâm. Gonna. Kick. Your. Ass.â Also, he regularly called very powerful figures in Barovia by sweet nicknames with âMr.â in the front. As a sign of Respect. Because heâs the Best. sdfhsdkfj he also he couldnât think of a fake name quick enough one time so he told an npc that is name was Dick and he was Very embarrassed about it. She: bought it!
Brilliance, Again
L5. Which OC do you think is the most decent morally or behaviorally?  AKA, which is supposed to a âgood guyâ? The answer is Cog, but we already went in depth on her morals this ask. Sheâs HAD enough screen time letâs move on. Brilliance is the only other character who, if asked, would say they saw themselves as a good guy instead of just âa personâ. She strives to do right by the people around her, and to protect the light and beauty found in the world. She doesnât have the same illusions about the world wanting to be a good place that Cog does, and she very much understands that sometimes the best thing you can do for the world is to put the things that make it dangerous six feet under. Whatâs interesting I think is that, despite being a paladin, she isnât Lawful Good! Sheâs Neutral Good, because you know what? She wants to do the right thing, and laws arenât always right. Itâs up to you, as a person with a mind and free will and agency, to look at a situation and decide what you think is the right thing to do. And, for Brilliance, generally the right thing to do is heft her sword, raise her shield, and face trouble head on.
Raini, Once More
L6. Which OC do you think is the worst morally or behaviorally? AKA, which is supposed to be a âbad guyâ? I donât have any evil aligned characters, because I personally find things like âgetting along with my party membersâ sexy, but the character whoâs the shittiest and the worst is obviously Raini. Sheâs not a bad person per say, sheâs just selfish and results oriented. Very much âthe ends justify the meansâ and in a party like hers sheâs aware that somebody has to be the bad guy sometimes, and sheâs not afraid to make sure thatâs her. Sheâs also very very likely to fall victim to her hubris making her feel like she definitely knows whatâs best, and acting on that maybe without consulting other people (see: the whole fucking premise of the campaign). She sees a goal, she sees a way to accomplish that goal, so why shouldnât she begin taking the necessary steps to reach it? I think the events of the game have mellowed this flaw out a little bit, but you can still see traces of it in the way she, for example, wordlessly handed Lent a bunch of diamonds before launching her consciousness into the Abeast and very nearly dying in there without consulting with the party first. It happens! Also, behaviorally, sheâs just. I mean. Sheâs like that. The worst. And that, I promise, will never change.Â

What's your opinion on masterlist blogs who omit people they personally deem "problematic" from their masterlists? To me, that makes what they're compiling a bias list, not an actual masterlist.
That's a thing? Pretend I did not ask that, of course it is a thing. I haven't seen that yet, but in full admittance, I haven't done more than search for masterlists for other RPers by fandom in quite a long time. So, thank you for unintentionally bringing that to my attention, Anon!
My opinion is not positive on the whole. Though, that does depend on what they're basing "problematic" on, I suppose. For the list I'm doing, there is the rule that there won't be any toleration of policing, for example. I'm doing that because I'm not trying to encourage anything to be used as an easy-access masterlist of muns to harass, and I consider participating in, and being supportive of, callouts, policing, etc. to be something that affects the entire RPC regardless of opinion, behavior, RP type, and so on in an incredibly negative way. I try to base decisions I make in this capacity on that only. Is it something that muns can reasonably avoid/choose to engage with or not? The answer is to that question when it comes to callout culture is a hard no. So, that's the only exclusion that goes on here.
It is, however, undeniably a personal choice. The logic I am operating under on this matter, or even consulting other RPers, RPH and resource muns, does not change that it is, technically, me deeming those elements to be legitimately a problem.
You know, just trying to to avoid someone eating hours of my life on about hypocrisy again.
In my opinion it comes down to the following:
how are they determining what is "problematic"
are they being open about this determination
^providing open, easy to locate, and clear items as to what would cause them to designate someone as "problematic," therefore, excluding them
is there any appeal/discussion possible, and is that legitimately fair and open
how much of this is fully based on what an individual or two personally does not approve of on other RPers blogs
I might still be of the opinion that this is shitty, something can be your right to do and still be shitty, but if they're at least being open and giving opportunities for discussion, or basing this on something beyond simply...I don't know, "I don't like what you write and that ship is gross," sort of ideas, then, it's a little less terrible.
However, from the tone of your message and the history of this blog being quite against purity culture, I'm going to have to assume that this masterlist is being operated entirely under those ideas. The ideas that are often stated as, "this does/could make muns uncomfortable or trigger them" so they exclude instead of giving an opportunity for those muns to exercise their adult agency. That is, if they're being at all nice about it. At this point, very few with that outlook are bothering to pretend at being nice. Instead, slapping on designations muns might not even be aware they fit under, like "proshipper" or the ever-arbitrary and incorrect "pedo." While happily adding such amazing things as "freak," "freak shit," "nasty shit," and so on. Because those things are totally mature and not in the eye of the beholder at all.
If that's the case, on the one hand, you do have to appreciate that their flagrant hatefulness and immaturity is so on the nose. At least no one is wondering why they keep reblogging to get on the list and never getting on, they can assume it is because the blog has decided they're engaging in "freak shit." On the other hand, it is really damn hateful and immature, yes.
Regardless, it's also unfair and should honestly be called a "bias list." It is a list of RPers this mun specifically decides on based on personal opinion only. There used to be a lot of masterlists out there, a very popular fandom could have upwards of five separate ones, but they're not so easy to find anymore. At least, if you want one that is up to date and well-populated. When any resource is scarce, it becomes a bit more unfair to deny access to it simply because you feel like aging up a cartoon is an act of pedophilia or something. It would be more fair in at least being fully honest that it's a biased list of blogs the masterlist owner approves of on some variable, debatable, points.
I would like to suggest that if this is becoming a serious issue, someone needs to start making non-biased ones again. Not excluding muns who are considered to be "problematic" due to content policing, having callouts, or being disliked in their areas of the RPC. That is not what you're creating a masterlist for, you're creating it so that muns can find other RPers within context of their fandoms only. If that's no longer happening (and honestly, I suspect it was happening before in some places, it was simply not being advertised that it was), someone needs to be making it happen.
However, that's a great deal of time someone would have to be spending on this, they'd have to be dedicated to it long after the rush of creating the thing was over, and they'd have to be quiet about why they were doing it, most likely. Stating that it was a masterlist that did not operate on bias would be alright, though someone is likely to start drama over that as well, but stating that "problematic" blogs were also welcome is likely to get the blog very little interaction.
Drawing those lines brings up discourse in people's minds, consciously or otherwise. Stating that would turn off people, even if they are the very people being excluded elsewhere, as they neither wish to be harassed for being designated as "problematic" nor want to be associated with even minor drama.
If someone is willing to take up that task, including the hateful anons and vague posts in their direction no matter what they do, then that would be great! I really hate to see anything happening that makes it even harder for RPers for find mutuals they mesh with, and masterlist blogs can be a great starting point for that. Especially as promos are out of favor and building your mutuals list from word of mouth and your current mutuals' friends can lead to accusations. What are people supposed to do? What the hell am I supposed to tell people they should do to find mutuals in a safe way?
As with resource blogs doing this sort of thing, it's their right, but that doesn't make it right or a good thing.

yikes do u have any advice for someone who's new to tumblr rping?? i'm asking u bc u seem super nice & i really love ur blog /w\
O U T Â O F Â S U N L I G H T
Hello There! Thank you so much for you kind words! And may I be one of the first to welcome you to the Roleplay Community on Tumblr, as well as ( more specifically?) to the Comicbook Fandom! Iâve been exactly where you are now, my friend, as a veteran of RP from other sites and venues, newly branching into this hot little mecca of writing known as Tumblr!
I think youâre really going to like it here. :)Â
Tumblr is an expansive universe where the possibilities are limitless, both within and beyond the fandom your character might originally hail from. It is the birthplace of some truly wonderful things, like SuperWhoLock, Batfamily Shenanigans, and Redemption from Marvelâs Civil War 2 trash. On here, all those usual rules that controlled the way you wrote your character in an RP Community or chat room no longer exist, granting you freedom to interpret them any way you wish (or multiple ways in multiple settings!). Many fandom, like the DC Comics Fandom, are populated by passionate and friendly writers who want to interact with others that feel just as strongly about the universe as they do!
But, and Iâm sure youâve heard this, RPing on Tumblr is not for the faint of heart. All those things that make this place a source of creativity and inspiration also allow for some serious issues. The site itself can be a challenge, not really designed for intuitive, flowing RP threads. The atmosphere of a fandom, usually so positive, is also constantly changing in nature, and populated heavily by free variables (i.e. people), so that there are no comfort zones for anyone involved.
On one hand, this will make you a better writer, a more conscientious interpreter of character motives, and a much stronger RPer overall. On the other handâŚ. well, even the best fandoms have their fair share of abuse, and no one is immune to having their feelings hurt.
Knowing all this, me and my fellow roleplayers still come online to write our hearts out everyday, because we love to write and Tumblr is hands-down one of the most prolific places for Roleplay on the internet. And Iâll tell you this, lovely anon, hard as it is, tumblr RP is also a breeding ground for wonderful and meaningful friendships that will last far longer than even the strongest OTP. Thatâs why Iâm so pleased to heard that you are willing to give Tumblr RP a try, even if you donât feel totally certain about how to start.
As for me, I look forward to seeing you in the this fandom community (or perhaps another!) and possibly interacting with you in the future. Thank you so much for trusting me enough with your question. Iâm certainly not an expert on being a successful roleplayer (some days I make a potato look like a better talent than me!), but I hope I can offer a few small pointers that might help you get started on your way to RP glory.
First of all, regardless of whatever fandom has caught your fancy, I suggest you research the atmosphere of the RP community here on Tumblr. Use the search feature to scope out RP tags for the fandom, spot promos for characters, and stalk any RP communities currently seeking applications on the site. Â All this information will give you a feel for the type of RP experience youâll have while in that fandom., and may influence your decision to take up a certain character.
If you have a personal tumblr blog, but you want to RP a character in a fandom, then I highly recommend you make another (completely separate) tumblr blog. Sideblogs are nice, but they donât work well when youâre following others and want to interact via asks, replies etc. Things can get very confusing, very fast, especially in the activity feed!
Many people swear by their âAboutâ pages, and thatâs a good thing. Once youâve created your character blog and start reaching out to others, most RPers on tumblr will bee-line for your âAboutâ or âRulesâ page as soon as they see youâve followed them. This is a courtesy so they can know how to best approach your character and what the important details should be known when RPing with you. So, to hedge your bets in a good way, always make an About Page and include all vital details about your character on it!
Also, keep in mind, there is no wrong way to write an About Page. You can check other RPersâ blogs for examples, but just write it however most makes sense to you. As long as it gives the reader an understanding of your vision with your character, thatâs what matters.
Sometimes when youâre starting out, especially if youâre playing an OC or a lesser known Canon character, youâre going to have to be the brave one that reaches out to others and asks for threads. Just posting opens and following other blogs might not get you the responses you hope for, and I donât want that to discourage you. Donât be afraid to (respectfully) go after the RPer youâre interested in writing with, I guarantee theyâre all super nice people and they will respond favorably to your interest in them!
Depending on the type of person you are, I would recommend possibly getting an instant messenger account for your RP blogs. I know that Tumblr messenger exists, but many RPers prefer to limit access to who can message them via that interface. The most popular instant messenger choices on tumblr are Skype, Kik, and Discord. This is certainly Not a requirement, and please donât feel pressured to get an account if you are not comfortable with talking to strangers via instant messenger. But, if you love to spazz out over your fandom, and you love to share plot ideas and headcanons, then you will find a great many fast friends in the RP fandoms on tumblr. So many writers (me included!) love to share their inspiration in this quick way, and translate it to writing on the site!
Learn the fine art of tagging posts. Tags are just about the only thing we Tumblr RPers have as a search filter on this website, and some of us follow certain tags religiously. And I donât just mean our tumblr url, I mean anything we feel is relevant to our character. For example, I track the tags: #sunxking, #apollo, #midnighterandapollo, #midnighter, #TheAuthority, etc. I also generously tag anything I post so that I can easily find it again on my blog, or provide navigation links to it for others to find. (such as #openstarter for all my Apollo RP opens). Additionally, I feel itâs important to be careful in tagging for triggering posts. I always tag with the keyword of the triggering content, and append the triggering keyword with either âtsâ (for tumblr savior) or âtwâ for âtrigger warning.â Keep in mind that if youâre tagging an original post (not a reblog) that only the first five tags are picked up by the tumblr search engine.Â
Stay open minded. And I donât just mean in regards to crossovers and alternate universes. There will be RPers that you will meet that may interpret a well-known character in a way that seems entirely contradictory to how you envision them. And you may like it⌠or you may not. But sometimes thinking outside of the box produces great rewards, and you never know what innovative idea might spring out of a crack conversation. Regardless, always follow the rule of thumb: Respect others and lead with kindness.
Hopefully these initial pointers will help you hit the ground running with an RP blog on tumblr!
