reading the first volume of hxh and it's like... you really can't help but notice that, despite all his bright smiles and soft nature, there's something off about gon. not in a creepy way tho but rather "oh kid... are you ok?" type of way.

#I love seeing all that subtle characterisation while knowing what's going to happen later... :")#I'm a big fan of togashi's characterisation in general #the way he develops his characters feels so... natural #it never feels drastic you won't even notice until you do and then once you do it hits you all at once...#truly one of my fav manga authors EVER #hxh
