Do you think Marvel comics Hermod feels a bit left out of family bonding times? The brothers closest to him in age, Thor, Loki, and Balder, are still a great deal older than him and pretty much have their own friend group. Until Laussa was born, it seems he didn't have anyone to hang out with. Though I guess he could've run races with Thjalfi or something, as Asgard's foremost speedsters.

I do think he feels left out, tbh. My own family has pretty big age gaps between all of us except for me and my brother, the two middle siblings. I know my youngest sibling has often felt frustrated growing up because by the time they were old enough to want to play with us and stuff, the rest of us were all teenagers (or adults, in my older sister's case) so we weren't really that interested. So, I think Hermod probably felt similar and was frustrated when he saw, for instance, Thor and Loki going on adventures together as young adults with him being left out.

I think that's part of the reason why he seems to be all over Laussa. He's still essentially a kid, and finally, he has a sibling he can hang out with! A sibling that he can (eventually) go on adventures with! Yes, she's currently a toddler, but toddlers grow! I'm sure they'll have lots of fun racing each other around Asgard and having sword fights or something.

I'm sure Hermod did have friends, of course. But friends are different from family, you know? And I think Hermod really craves that sibling bond that Thor and Loki had, or even Thor and Balder. Here's hoping he gets that with Laussa despite the age gap <3
