Also, it was nice to see Basilio again. Just like in The Barber of Sevilla, his big aria is once again giving villainous advice to Bartolo that Bartolo in no way whatsoever listens to. In the version I watched, Bartolo actually leaves before Basilio is done with his epic story about how he found a donkey skin that one time. He's the real tragic character. I'd much rather watch an opera about him than about *scoffs* love and marriage.
--
Act 1, Scene 1. Room of Giotto Ferrero Amicelli, 11 year old nobleboy who his mom is convinced is totally a piano prodigy (he isn't). Giotto is sitting miserably at the piano.
Enter Basilio
(Recitative)
Basilio: Good morning, young lord, how beautifully the sun shines on this new day. Only eternal darkness could be better. Giotto: Good morning, my teacher. Basilio: Have you practiced your lessons obediently? Giotto: Yes, maestro. (aside) Or not! Basilio: Very well, very well. And have you understood them? Has your lady mother sung the text while you played like I instructed? Giotto: My lady mother was most astonished that Machiavelli's The Prince had been set to music. Whoever has heard of such a thing..? Basilio: Your humble teacher, he himself has composed it. All my young students must play these pieces to train their fingers, yes, and their minds as well... Giotto: (aside) Oh what a joke. Basilio: Now let me tell you, my dear pupil, how to best turn it to your advantage when one of your friends tells you falsehoods about another friend.
[5 minute aria on the topic. Giotto watches with an air of defeat. He never gets to play the piano much during his lessons.]
[Basilio finishes his aria while the orchestra swells dramatically]
Basilio: ...and then they all diiiiie in a bloooooodbath and Satan rules the woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooorld!
[Recitative starts again]
Basilio: Did you understand all that, my student? Giotto: (lying) Yes, maestro. Basilio: Good. Now gimme your riding boots, I need the spurs to scratch up someone's car and make it look like they're committing insurance fraud, I'll explain what that means next time. Giotto: Wh-what's a car?

I'd die, diiiiie if you write an Akatsuki no Yona AU. I don't know if you read mangas or watch anime, but there is a common AU where the princess of the castle has to run away because the castle was taken by the, and the bodyguard goes away with her. In this journey she learns any type of fighting, like using the arrow and she has to hide, and there is this slow hot tension between her and the bodyguard (fez). Also, they meet new people while escaping, since you always add this found family touch. I looooove how you write fantasy!! I'd die if you write this!!
Hi friend! Thank you!!!
Oh shit that's a cool idea. I haven't heard of it. Did it get made into an anime? Watching is easier than reading these days, just for ability to consume while doing other stuff. I did read manga and watch anime way more in high school but it's been a while since then lmao. I feel like I've only watched the super popular stuff (Sailor Moon, FMA/FMA:B, Ouran, Fruits Basket, all the Miyazaki movies), but as mediums I do really like them.
And would I consume a piece of media purely to write a Fexi AU? Lmao OF COURSE.
