Watching S02E06 of The Bear and it's just...not as good as it's trying to be? It's too heavy-handed, trying so hard, and wasting so much of the precious screen time on bickering of the characters who've just been introduced or who we barely care about that instead of creating tension it simply gets boring and makes you wanna skip half of the scenes.

#the bear fishes #the bear #don't get me wrong I love the series #season 1 was fire #and season 2 is good for the most part #but that episode felt like the writers wanted to pull smth akin to Succession while completely missing all of its subtlety #and honestly what the fuck with wasting half the screen time on Richie's wife Faks and some randos we see for the first time #I'd gladly watch the siblings interact with each other and their mother for an hour #they are all fascinating #and yet you waste such an opportunity
