#okay so I’ve finished my gg rewatch (absolutely flew through it) so many thoughts#I first started watching whilst s6 aired so I reckon I was like 13 or so? and I’ve rewatched a couple times since but it’s been a while#I didn’t realise how much my opinions on it would change so excuse the rambling#I remember hating jenny/vanessa/ivy as characters and honestly this time around I didn’t really ‘hate’ anyone#I thought all the characters were pretty insufferable at points and unlikeable in certain storylines and what not#the only characters I properly hated were william and bart just because they had no redeeming qualities whatsoever#don’t even get me STARTED on the finale lol#chuck and blair really were the only couple who seemed to have a ending deserving of their arc#although rewatching it I actually didn’t mind dan and blair at all so I really wouldn’t have minded who she ended up with but chuck is the#logical choice as their stories always came back to each other#I will die on the hill that says it should have been rufly and serenate#I think everyone agrees that derena s1 was adorable and they worked but once they broke up idk they wrapped it up nicely and left them open#to continue to grow by themselves/with others#them ending up together felt forced rushed and unnecessary#I really disliked teen blair (lol don’t crucify me)#she clearly had issues and what not but I’d forgotten just how bad the bitchiness was#idk maybe it just reminds me of too many people I knew in school and was uncomfy to watch at times#I think lily might be my fave character?#I never thought I’d say that but she bought just the right amount of bitch class and entertainment#and I hate how much they butchered her character in late s5/6#the CHOICES she made were incorrect#she never would’ve picked bart over rufus (she was legit ending her marriage to bart in s2 to be with rufus?)#the only way she would’ve would’ve been to spite rufus but for her to bart first over chuck? absolutely not#and to insinuate she ended up with WILLIAM?! a travesty x#s6 serena was also not it (don’t get me started on the sex tape)#I forgot how much of a player nate was too haha#but yes many thoughts and feelings but was good fun and I’d forgot just how easy a watch it was#okay ramble over love y’all

when I was a depressed teenager I didn’t really watch movies or play video games and started reading books less which is something I really regret bc I feel I just wasted my time being chronically online or sleeping and brooding. when I could have been enriching my life more. you feel. I was really into music and twin peaks but I just felt things weren’t worth my time yet I was doing stuff that was less worth my time. which ironically the stuff I feel wasn’t worthwhile was stuff I was into a lot as kid (video games, reading, movies) so maybe that’s why I had that reaction as I was being the rebellious teen or whatever and growing out of things. I had an MP3 player and portable CD player as a kid but it wasn’t the same like where I had all these video games and movies. I didn’t go to my first concert until I was 16… and then on top of that teenage angst there was the depression just telling me nothing is worthwhile. I feel like I just missed out on a lot of stuff that I would’ve liked. anyway so I’m still super depressed in my twenties but this year thus far I’ve:
• watched 50+ movies, including finally watching stuff like parasite (I started it a few years ago but didn’t finish it), the terminator, spirited away, trainspotting, almost famous (a movie I was really interested in while in high school yet never actually watched), and in the mood for love
• finished some games that I had started like resident evil 5, as well as started and finished resident evil 2, 3, code veronica x, and 6 (had literally only did a little bit of the prologue and quit for a year lol but it wasn’t as bad as I was anticipating). I’ve been on a resident evil kick within the last year and a half to two years. I’ve played through 12 of them. wished I had gotten into them earlier as I feel they would’ve been great for me as a teen because I’ve always liked supernatural or spooky stuff (the same thing applies to horror movies- I wish I had gotten into them as a teen too) and the gamecube games I bought would’ve been cheaper lol
• read the stepford wives, fight club, brokeback mountain, american psycho, and red dragon. I read the last two both within a span of less than two weeks which is crazy to me as I haven’t been a big reader (of books) as an adult. I have nine books on hold on libby including giovanni’s room, the only good indians, and flowers in the attic
I know this was really long but if anyone has any recommendations or wants to talk about any of this stuff I’d love to…

10 Favourite Regression Dynamics
I’ve made lists of some characters I headcanon as regressors, and characters I headcanon as caregivers: and I love a good ‘character and reader’ dynamic, but here are some canon dynamics that I LOVE to add age regression to!
Important note: these aren’t necessarily romantic ‘ships’ and they might not be healthy age regression dynamics but they’re dynamics I find it rewarding to write about!
Tumblr media
1. regressor!Will and caregiver!Hannibal (NBC Hannibal)
Starting strong with a regression dynamic that is not healthy but it is such an interesting thing to add to their existing codependence! Will gives me such agere vibes and Hannibal’s existing trauma around his big brother history make this such an interesting dynamic to explore. It definitely tilts the power balance faaaar in the direction of someone who will take the opportunity to do terrible things with it, but that’s basically what you’re signing up for with any story about Hannibal Lecter.
2. regressor!Jack and caregiver!Bitty (Check Please!)
No one exudes stronger caregiver vibes than Bitty: I’m definitely a supporter of this as a double-flip pairing (with both regressing and caregiving) but I want the sad hockey man to get cuddles, goshdarnit, and you know that Bitty would just be the sweetest most thoughtful caregiver and I just gah they’re already such a good pairing with such canonically developed communication as a couple and I would love to see that skill applied to something as vulnerable as regression
 3. regressor!Harry and caregiver!Sirius (Harry Potter)
If anyone deserves a chance at a second childhood, it’s Harry Potter. And I think that when he connected with Sirius as a young teen, he really saw that possibility. I think it would be so sweet to see Sirius actually able to give Harry that full parenting: both at the age he is now, and all the ages that he missed. I just strongly feel like Harry is a regressor, and as much as I like writing him with peers supporting him, I feel like he deserves a real parent figure who can support him in that role in and out of regression, especially in his teen years.
4. regressor!Jon and caregiver!avatars (Magnus Archives)
Okay, this is more of a whump thing than a good dynamic, but I just want to see little!Jon dealing with avatars when they’re being nice to him, and it’s like 90% manipulation but it’s also a bunch of monsters being sweet and you can kind of read it as genuine if you squint. I’ve got a vision and it includes literally any of the not-quite-human characters of the Magnus Archives, ranging from the mostly-sweet (End!Gerry) to the completely-terrifying (Bouchard).
5. regressor!Tony, caregiver!Pepper (Marvel)
This is the first pairing that ever made me run to write regression fanfiction, and I do believe that I would not be an agere writer without them. Ironically, I’ve never finished and published any of my fics about them, but they have my whole heart. Taking Tony’s earlier unthinking dependence on Pepper and bringing it back in a healthy way, with limits and negotiation and emotional vulnerability, showing how much they’ve grown as a couple? Yes please!!
6. regressor!Cullens, caregivers!Carlisle and Esme (Twilight)
I am such! a! sucker! for immortal beings finding a way to reclaim the concept of time and childhood. Carlisle and Esme canonically find a lot of value in being parents, and considering that they’re such a range of ages, I think that regression is a neat way to create that dynamic, and I just like big groups of regressors in a family and it scratches all of those interests in one!!
7. regressor!Morty, flip!Rick (Rick and Morty)
It’s the toxicity for me!!! I make no claims that this would be a good thing, but also I enjoy writing about the things that trigger Rick’s ‘oh shit I have feelings’ mode and you can’t tell me that regression would not key into that, both in his own experiences as a flip and then having to face it as part of Morty’s trauma. And Morty simultaneously trying to get away into independence but getting drawn back by Rick’s kindness in this single circumstance ties into all of the terrible themes of the show.
8. regressor/caregiver flips Dean and Sam (Supernatural)
Speaking of codependence, I cannot choose which of these boys is more symbolically resonant to have as a regressor, and both of them certainly have enough trauma to make it a viable coping mechanism. I think they have the art of balancing each other down to an art: especially in the early seasons, you can really see that process in the way they take turns being the Angry one. Writing about that balance in the context of regression is an interesting concept, and then the way that Dean relates to caregiving versus needing care, and Sam’s desperation to be the reliable one... it’s just a lot of tasty angst to play with alongside the sweet opportunity for a childhood without the war they were raised to fight.
9. regressor!Erik, caregiver!Christine (Phantom of the Opera)
Okay, this one is like ninety percent for the aesthetics, because you do need to do some handwaving over canon to make it fluffy. But Erik needs reparenting, and flipping the relationship from the original dynamic with Erik as a kind of father-figure is a nice way to reclaim the story from the original gothic maiden themes.
10. regressor!Dave, caregiver!Roxy (Homestuck)
All hail my Ride Or Die regression dynamic!!! It’s basically canon and I stand by that! Dave called her mom and said that it feels nice to think of her as a mom because he had such a mixed experience with his own parental figure. And she’s got her own complicated feelings about parenthood and guardianship, but says that she likes it when Dave calls her mom, and it all just makes me very happy.
This has been my TEDtalk on my favourite regression dynamics!! Thank you for coming!!

Hii, I just wanted to rate some Webtoons I’ve read in the past.
I Love Yoo
The art is great and it used to be my favorite webtoon but after a while it starting dragging. The characters became more unlikable and unfortunately the webtoon lost its humor which I had considered its greatest charm. The issue is that chapters feel way too dense nowadays. Its a shame because I had been looking forward to see my ship develop. Reading the first ten chapters and then the last few shows how much the tone of the story has changed. The best part of the story was in my opinion the Gala arc, right after it the story took a tragic turn. But during it I interacted so much in the fandom and we made theories based on everything! It was so so much fun. I think the biggest bummer is seriously the tonal shift. 6/10
Sirens Lament
I remember reading this weekly when it had barely finished its first season. It was absolutely lovely. The art is breathtaking and the characters are beyond likable, I love them. I just want to root for them all. The ending (honestly the last few chapters) had me in tears and I was completely obsessed with the secondary couple (Tua and Pele omg). I loved it. If I had one criticism, its that after 2/3s of the story the plot started to feel a tiny bit dense at times but even then, just seeing the gorgeous artwork made up for it. 9.5/10
Lets Play
It started off fine, I loved the artstyle and was invested into the plot, and as someone who played a lot of games as a child and young teen, I loved the references to games! The sequence where Marshall began playing the game was, in my opinion, the best part of the entire story. I was reading weekly at the time and Lets play had become the webtoon I looked most forward to updating because of it. That changed once Marshall had finished the game though. What I didn’t like were the things that followed, especially the amount of sexual content. 5/10
Cursed Princess Club
This webtoon is amazing. I’ve been reading it since the day it was released and oh boy, its everything!! It has everything. Likable characters, great humor and an intriguing plot. I don’t even know what else to say. People tend to criticize the artsyle which was remastered in the physical copy, but I never had a problem with it personally. I have the least to say here because I just liked everything. Every decision the author makes, I like. And the plottwists make sense and she also builds up her plot over 100s of chapters, its crazy! Like you’ll be in chapter 100 something and she’ll call back to something said in chapter 12. And the chapters are long. I never feel robbed when spending my coins! 10/10
The four of them
Its a very refreshing webtoon. I love the characters and their development. And honestly, it never once bored me. The 4 main characters are very interesting, and you really just want them to succeed. When they mess up, instead if getting annoyed, I’d root for them to do better next time and learn from their mistakes. And after reading the comments, I can say that most felt that way. The stakes were also rather low which makes the reading experience a lot more chill than the other webtoons, a true breath of fresh air. My only criticism is that the chapter lengths vary to much, so when you’re buying a chapter w coins you take a bit of a risk of getting a shorter one that’ll be done after a minute of reading. Its an amazing story to binge though! 9/10

20 questions for writers
Tagged by @floating-in-the-blue. Thanks friend!
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
42
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
526,945
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Julie and the Phantoms and one Teen Wolf
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
1. Falling Toward the Future(264)
2. Julie and Luke’s Book of Dares(257)
3. Burn Baby Burn(159)
4. A Bigger Table(149)
5. Eat the Chips(145)
Falling Toward the Future was my first long fic in the jatp fandom. It’s a college AU that pulls from my own college experiences. I made the plan for it as I went along and learned a lot about what I like about writing and that I should have planned better before I started. It was still a lot of fun and I will always look back on those six-ish months fondly.
Julie and Luke’s Book of Dares was my second long fic I just finished in January. I wrote quite a bit of it before I started posting and this was my version of Dash and Lilly’s Book of Dares with the jatp characters so I had that to go by as far as plot goes and I think I kept to that as closely as I could with these characters.
Burn Baby Burn is the 6th story in the Found Family Fluff series and my first attempt at “sexual content” It’s Julie and Luke making out in a hammock. Very little dialogue. I was so nervous about posting this at the time. I’ve written WAY more explicit things since.
A Bigger Table is the 2nd story in the Found Family Fluff series and was inspired by buying a new dining room table and wishing I had four ghost boys to carry it in the house. It’s told from Ray’s pov.
Eat the Chips was my very first fic in the Jatp fandom and the smallest word count at only 752. This little series is the only “cannon” one with the boys still ghosts and still seems to be a fan favorite even though the series is pretty much done in my eyes. But never say never, ya know.
5. Do you respond to comments?
Yes
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I don’t really do sad/angsty endings. But the saddest/angstiest fic overall I’ve written would have to be As Long as We Have Each Other. It’s a miscarriage fic and I cry every time I read it but it’s got a happy ending.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Everything has a happy ending. I honestly can’t pick.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Never any hate. A few “I didn’t like that thing.”
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Yes. It’s mostly M/F. One M/F/M (Rukebox) and I have a M/M (Willex) coming at some point.
10. Do you write crossovers?
I have not but if I ever had a good idea I certainly would.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not to my knowledge.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Also not to my knowledge, and I’d hope someone would tell me/ask me if they did that.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
I haven’t although that would be fun.
14. What’s your all-time favorite ship?
I mean I’m going with ships I’ve written and say Julie/Luke and I used to run a Willow/Oz website back in the day.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you will?
Never say never but I’ve got a couple that aren’t really talking to me anymore. A Peterpatterlina one where Julie and Luke start secretly “dating” although everyone knows but both of them are feeling guilty about it because of Reggie. I just don’t know where it’s going so there it sits.
Then I have another Juke meet in a different time period like my Royality Maybe I Could Be Yours which is 90% smut but the idea that they were always meant to be together came up when I was writing it and I thought maybe it could be a series. We’ll see…
16. What are your writing strengths?
I hate these questions. I don’t know. Even in job interviews I never know how to answer this because what I think I’m good at others may think I’m shit at. I will say the parts I LIKE are coming up with funny lines or heartbreaking lines. Also a really good visual where I’ve managed to describe the scene exactly how it is in my head. Doesn’t happen as often as I’d like but sometimes I’ll get a comment that “saw” what I was trying to show and it just makes me so happy.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Punctuation, hands down. (and spelling but word helps with that) It’s definitely better the more I’ve been writing but woof, I am not naturally good at it.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
As long as it’s not too much. Especially in the jatp verse there should be a little Spanish here and there but I’m not a native speaker so I use it sparingly.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
20. Favorite fic you’ve written?
My favorite is almost always the one I’m currently working on so it’s the new series. The Miraculous Files of Mariposaport, Main(by Luke Patterson S.E.O.)
So it's the first fic in that series, It’s the End of the World as We Know It.

20 questions for fic writers!
Thanks for the tag @lumosatnight [see here]!
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
Technically 50 (I think) because one of them is in an anonymous collection so AO3 is telling me 49. I’m considering putting some more earlier works as anonymous so that number might change soon.
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
245,593… but I haven’t written at least 100k of that because they’re collabs where I did art (such as WLW Big Bang 2022).
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Harry Potter - J. K. Rowling (44)
Teen Wolf (3)
Marvel (3)
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Three Days, Three Perspectives [Drarry, E, 6.5k]
An Expensive Courtship [Drarry, E, 10.9k]
Petrichor [Steter, T, 2.5k]
Snapshots of a Pregnancy [Drarry, T, 3.8k]
🙀 ➡ 😻 ➡ 😽 [Stony, T, 5.2k]
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I’m terrible about doing this, so I’m very sporadic about it, but every comment means so much to me! I just see it and if I don’t respond immediately, they just pile up and then I never get to it? 100% getting better at replying with my ongoing WIP, What Large Hands You Have (The Better to Embrace You With) [Steter, M, 14.7k so far], since I’m posting as I write and the encouragement means SO much!
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Half Past One [Drarry, M, 2.5k] which was a horror fic (my one and only one) that I wrote for a Wheel of Drarry mini exchange. There’s MCD. And gore.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
I almost never not write happy endings, BUT I’m going to go with Pinocchio [Neville/Harry, E, 3.9k] because it’s crack-y, fun, and Harry gets off a ton of times. (Mostly unintentionally).
8. Do you get hate on fics?
I’ve had a couple rude-ish comments? Someone said that it would be better if it were longer, which was kind of ??? It was one of my first works and the mods reached out to me about it and they were super supportive and kind. (This is also the fic that is now anonymous, for unrelated reasons.)
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I’ve written some PWPs. A little of everything, really… and a fair number of my longer works include some sex scenes. I probably read more kinky content than I write (beyond the watersports fics because apparently I have multiple?), but yeah. Pro-smut here.
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
Nope. I’ve read a few, but it’s mostly not my thing.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Yes! And I only found out because the person didn’t realize that it was stealing to repost on Wattpad and then apologized and asked how I felt about it…
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
My tango fic, The Cabeceo [Drarry, E, 1.9k], was translated into Spanish by @stargazing-enby last year for HD Owl Post. Which was such an amazing and wonderful gift to receive, especially because *tango*. I definitely feel like I’ve grown a lot as a writer since I first wrote it, but it’s very near and dear to me and having a translation (which I can read!) even more so. If it gives anyone any ideas… I can read Portuguese and Spanish!
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Co-written? No. I’ve done art for various people before and participated in several big bangs/reverse big bangs as both an author and an artist. (ETA: 100% have co-written multiple fics no idea how I forgot those when I first answered)
14. What’s your all time favourite ship?
Flintwood. (And yes, I’ve had full on spreads in my journal dedicated to Flintwood.) Don’t ask me why, but those are my athletic rivals to lovers absolute hands down favorite. For Teen Wolf, I started in Steter (so it remains my #1) and one of my all-time top comfort reads is a Steter fic, This Time Around by Green (and someone else who no longer is associated with the work), which I received a bound copy of last year as part of the Renegade Bookbinding Exchange.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
“Green Glows and Ginger Greens” is a Flintwood WIP that I have 20k written of, edited and posted chapter one and it’s been… 2 years. I hope to get back to it (and my other unposted Flintwood hanahaki I’ve been talking about for about as long), but it’s just… not happened.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Idea generation, maybe? I think I tend to be really good at coming up with ideas and starting writing projects that have the potential to be really interesting. I love kind of crack-y ideas, and I’ve been trying to be better at actually delving into those instead of going “this is too weird, no one will read it.” (Example: I wrote a fic from a bathroom’s POV and it still makes me laugh.)
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
I tend to come up with ideas that spiral out of control, but I’m terrible at finishing things so I procrastinate and then it gets rushed and not as strong as it could be. Also not using betas that often because of said procrastination. And feeling awkward about it because I never leave enough time for editing.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I love it, especially when it’s a language I speak and am like “Yes! This adds some cultural context”, etc. But also, such an important thing to get people to double check that before just throwing it in.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Back when I was a wee bb in high school? Either Protector of the Small or Harry Potter. As an adult? Also Harry Potter.
20. Favourite fic you’ve written?
Completed on AO3? Herbology_Neville and DragonKeeperCW [Neville/Charlie, E, 11k] which was the fic I worked on whenever I was procrastinating on other fics. I’ve always wanted to go back to that universe and just haven’t had a chance, but… Neville and Charlie are adorable and I love them. I’m also loving the fic I’m posting now, as mentioned it’s What Large Hands You Have (The Better To Embrace You With), which was for Steter Bang because it really is reflective a lot of me as a person. Otherwise, I really loved the Green Glows/Snuggling, Smoothies, and Sons-in-Law universe (just need to finish both of those…)
Tagging (i never know who to tag!): @sugareey-makes-stuff (again, even though I know you were already tagged), @drwhoisginnyholmes, @makeitp1nk

Fic Tag Game
Tagged by @therulerofallpotatos 💕
1) How many works do you have on Ao3?
New/Current Account: 1 (though I have 3 more long fics in the works (wyler, wyclair and a hotd fic) that I'm hoping to start posting chapters for by the end of the year)
Old Account: I think I had 8 works on Ao3 before I threw my toys out of the cot, logged out, made a new account and never logging back in but this was 5-ish years ago now so idak lol.
2) What's your Ao3 word count?
22,107
(don't know my old account count)
3) What fandoms do you write for?
Currently Wednesday and House of the Dragon but I’ve previously written for Game of Thrones/ASOIAF, MCU and Victorious (I've started writing for other fandoms though I don't think I ever posted anything)
4) What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
I’m taking my old account to the grave but my Wenclair fic Blood and Shadows is currently at 704
(also my Victoriuous fics (don't judge me I was a child) were all posted on fanfiction.net)
5) Do you respond to comments?
Yes! I always respond to my comments. I want my readers to feel open to engaging with me on my works and I find that answering questions, matching their energy and dropping a quick thank you for their compliments makes me more approachable (hopefully). Also I have had some bad experiences in the past and so getting a influx of positive comments after posting a chapter means more to me than my readers can know so I like to do something to acknowledge that.
6) What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Tbh, I don't really like unhappy endings. Like I love angst fics, the angstier the better and I find writing/reading fics that aren't at least a little despairing to be pretty boring. But at my core I’m a slut for a happy ending and I don't think I've ever gone into writing a fic that I planned to end on an egregiously unhappy note.
However, I did write a Game of Thrones fic focusing on Sansa’s relationship with Cersei that I ended up abandoning at a point where Sansa was still in Kings Landing being groomed, tormented and plagued by the grief of her entire family dying… so that’s not great.
I also have a House of the Dragon WIP set in the unseen years during the time jump where Alicent and Rhaenyra start to reconcile after Jace and Daeron are born within months of each other. It’s an Alicent POV where Jace’s obvious status as a bastard and Rhaenyra’s fear surrounding the ridicule that follows initially has her feeling sympathetic. Alicent puts out an olive branch and Rhaenyra feeling vulnerable accepts. They start to repair their relationship and old repressed feeling resurface only then Rhaenyra has Luke (another obvious bastard), Alicent feels betrayed, resents Rhaenyra’s recklessness, everything goes to shit and it ends with the implications that their canon relationship will continue as is (which for them is of course very tragic). I based it on Alicent’s line after Joffrey's birth where she says something along the lines of “to have one son like that is a mistake, three is an insult”. It’s a one-shot but it got really long and I lost interest before I finished it lol.
7) What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Idk. A happy endings, a happy ending I don't think any of them stand out as being the happiest.
8) Do you get hate on fics?
I have.
Not on my new account (thankfully) the Wednesday fandom overall is very positive (at least in my experience) and the response to blood and shadows has been overwhelmingly positive so far.
I did receive some criticism on my earlier fics. I was very young and still in the process of learning to deal with my dyslexia so they weren't very good and though they hurt at the time, I put little effort into those fics and I got over it pretty quickly.
Then when I was in my late teens I experienced a very consistent string of hate comments on fics that I was pretty proud of at the time. Some of it was valid, some of it was just mean. I also wasn't in the best head space and it all imploded into me giving up on writing and posting for a few years.
I still wrote fanfic, as creative writing is something I've always strived to get better at, I just wasn't taking it seriously or posting anything. But I started posting again earlier this year and I plan to stick with it, even if everything doesn't stay perfect as I know I'm more equipt to embrace the hate now.
9) Do you write smut? What kind?
Fuck yes. And… the kinkier the better? 😏
I’m not opposed to writing more vanilla smut if it's part of a longer romance-focused fic. As super kinky smut coming out of nowhere can give readers whiplash. But I always try to spice things up where I can and I love writing more complicated emotional and power-related dynamics over focusing on the physical actions of a sex scene. Because when you grow up reading smut (not recommend but it's too late for me now) the physical act of sex alone does little in the way of… invoking a reaction, and therefore can be pretty boring overall.
Like yay, cool, she's sucking a dick. Now tell me about the sexual consequences of those mommy issues.
Also dialogue. I don't care if people don't actually talk that much during sex. That fuckers not shutting up and you can't stop me.
10) Do you write cross-overs?
No. I'm not opposed to it. Just never felt the need.
11) Have you ever had a fic translated?
Nope.
12) Have you ever cowritten a fic before?
No. I'm a bit of a control freak and I’ve loved all my mutuals over the years too much to ever make them deal with that.
13) What WIP you would like to finish, but doubt you ever will?
I have been casually working on a long (LONG) House of the Dragon fic on and off for like a year now that I will most likely never post simply because of the scale of it. I just don't think I’ll ever finish it in a way that I'm happy with and I don't want to start only to lose steam and either abandon it or feel obligated to finish it when my hearts not in it anymore.
It's a canon divergence fic where upon Rhaenyra’s bloody return to camp after running away and killing the boar during Aegon ii’s second name day hunt, Viserys revaluates Otto’s proposal to betroth her to Aegon and a season 1 retelling thereafter focusing on Rhaenyra, Alicent and Aegon because they're my problematic favs and the interpersonal relationships between these characters are just endlessly fun to explore (also the show fumbled on Rhaenyra and Aegon's relationship and I need to fix that or ill be forced to scream everytime I think about it which is often).
Basically, slow burn Rhaenicent (Alicent x Rhaenyra) and all the longing, hatred and repression that comes with it interspersed with their relationships with a growing Aegon (and eventually the other green kids) and the weird and complicated family unit that grows between them, as Aegon and Rhaenyra get married while Aegon is fully aware that his sister-wife is fucking his mother (it’s been that way most of his life so he's fine with it). And that's only THE FIRST ACT!
Alicent then dies birthing Daeron (a few years before the end of s1 timeline wise) and Aegon and Rhaenyra fall deep into very a self-destructive grieving process (during which Viserys dies and they inherit the throne) and end up growing closer as they try to heal, move on and run a kingdom together. Eventually progressing into an actual Rhaegon (Rhaenyra x Aegon) fic despite the fact that they have already been married for years and she was low-key a better dad to him than Viserys (derogatory) ever was. (Dont @ me about the incest they're Targaryen’s it doesn't count and this fic would be problematic af for so many more valid reasons)
I have no idea how it would end, only that I'm looking at 300k words minimum and I don't think I'm ready to commit to that.
14) What's your all-time favourite ship?
It depends, I’ve had a lot over the years but some current favourites are:
Wednesday - Wyclair, Wyler, Wenclair, Tynid
HotD - Rhaenicent, Lucemond, Rhaegon, Daemicent
15) What are your writing strengths?
I've been told I have a unique way of writing emotion and I find dialogue comes quiet easily to me.
16) What are your writing weaknesses?
A complete inability to keep it short and simple, I must make everything I write as long and complex as physically possible, which isn't always necessary and tbh can sometimes be too much and therefore worse.
I've tried to be a one-shot girlie and I just can't do it. I get sucked into the lore and the nuances of every tiny detail I come across. I can't write a fic any shorter than 30k (an extreme minimum tbh) and It's exhausting. I need to learn to chill.
17) Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I've written a few lines in the many fictional languages of ASOIAF where necessary for certain characters but I try to avoid using languages I'm not super confident in without first knowing EXACTLY what I'm saying/trying to say.
I have no issues with it overall but I definitely encourage research beyond Google translate if you don't speak the language. Especially with gendered words as its something that's very easy to spot even for people who are mediocre at speaking the language.
18) First fandom you wrote for?
Victorious. Jori (Jade x Tori) specifically. I can't remember how old I was but I was pretty young at the time and definitely wrote some truly cringe-worthy shit but overall I remember it quite fondly.
19) Favourite fic you've ever written?
Not my best work but I wrote a Bucky x Natasha MCU fic when I was 16-ish. It was the first fic I remember taking seriously (too seriously probably) and I got in trouble for writing on my phone in class several times. It was nothing too serious, fun to write and overall it really cemented my love for writing I think.
Also I'm really vibing with my Wyler historical AU atm. I've got some kinks to work out before I start posting chapters but it's looking to be some of my best work.
20) What fic would you want to rewrite one day?
I don't think I want to rewrite any of them.
Though I think I've improved enough over the years to make them drastically better in theory, if I've learnt anything it's that somethings are best left imperfectly perfect and trying to mold the past into something better will only ever sour the good that had come with the bad.

some questions under the cut
although first, in a break from tradition, i thought i'd play back what i said i was going to write in 2022 at the end of 2021:
finish restoration ecology.
some sort of smut for dem.
???
might be time to write my vampire simon fic, not sure. the moment might have passed, and i might push it back and push it back until once again it doesn’t happen.
i was thinking i’d quite like to write a thing where they get together at watford and it’s not because magic made them do it… and it’s not 50k+ words long, either. there have to be other ways.
maybe some more experiments, like - i like the idea of them becoming friends after watford not boyfriends. a. few people started writing this and it’s interesting and fun - i dont have an idea for it.
i do have an idea for the agatha-baz bodyswap. i guess i might write that. nothing the people like more than dubcon het sex, am i right?? (i mean, maybe some people). i’m trying to not think about this story until marta posts hers, and until i’ve written restoration ecology - see above. but yeah, i feel like there’s some quite significant impetus behind this one in my brain… (magic made them do it at watford, eh? it’s my favourite.)
(full 2021 answers)
i failed at vampire simon - that's basically never going to happen. i didn't write a watford get together that wasn't about magic, but i DID write a friends to lovers, the agatha-baz bodyswap, and restoration ecology! so - i consider that a win.
Best/worst title?
best title is 'Restoration Ecology', although i'm also a big fan of 'Shiver' - which i did not come up with. worst title is 'Thank Magic, Thank Niamh' - like RE, it’s a quote from the text, but one works on multiple levels, the other is just.... to do with niamh? i mean, i tried a bit harder than that. it's kind of to do with how agatha prefers niamh to magic, and that's the point of the story.... but yeah. it's poor. sorry brobelove.
also - no offense discord, but 'birthday man' is a bizarre title 😂 it absolutely makes sense in context, but seems weird before you read the fic. (i wrote the summary of this fic, which is why it's super generic like all of mine)
Best/worst summary?
all the summaries i wrote this year are at least all right! the brobelove one is actively good (phew). the best is probably restoration ecology again, although someone told me at some point they were worried about reading it in case baz really had ruined simon's life at some point (that was just simon being dramatic in the summary, it's ok).
'We all fall down' has a classic aralias-friendly summary i.e. [quote sets up normal situation] ; [now something else is happening]. it's elegant and (i think) intriguing, and only doesn't get to be the best summary of the year because it's so reminiscent of every snowbaz hanahaki summary ever...
Baz has been hopelessly in love with Simon Snow for years, he thought it was killing him. Now it really is.
worst - Work It is clearly phoned in (though it does the job). but i'm going to go for a surprise choice of the 'Unintended' summary, which i never really liked. it describes the premise of the fic but not very elegantly. i think i wrote it in the few hours before posting chapter 1, which is usually not a good sign.
Best/worst first line?
excluding the ones i didn't write...
best is probably 'Well. This is Awkward' - from the brobelove, although 'Friendship is magic' (Unintended) is also good fun and plays off later, obvs, in a way i totally planned...
also, a shout out to 'Call Me Maybe':
By the time I get off the plane, I already have three missed calls from Penelope and a voicemail.
i thought that was a good beginning.
worst - 'There’s music playing when I get home.' (Work It)
interestingly, that beginnning is also dull... on purpose. as i was thinking 'i always open fics in media res, lemme do something different. so this sentence has nothing to do with the rest of the fic (except that the music is 'work it', i guess) unlike all my other first lines. and it ends up on the worst first line podium! harsh.
Best/worst last line?
best - “I’m Agatha Wellbelove.” (Hopelessly Miscast)
boom! i dont know if people even noticed the chapter titles, i tend not to notice chapter titles, but this is a call back to that, as well as her feeling so secure in her own body. that's why it gets top spot even though i wrote a few not-crap endings this year. (n.b. for new readers, i tend to dislike my endings/writing endings.)
i really really like the ending of 'We Were Always More' - i wrote this kiss for simon way earlier in the narrative and then thought 'wait, this is classic ending material', and it works super well. even 'Work It', which is kind of doomed to be the fic that isn't as good as most of the others... has a solid ending.
i wrote a crap ending for 'We all fall down' - but fixed it at the last minute!! 'Spring's come early' works.
'restoration ecology'............. would probably end up in last place (what???) because it's a classic lazy aralias ending, but i've just remembered Third Gate fizzles out much much more obviously at the moment, so - that's the worst.
i still have time to make that one work, though.
Looking back, did you write more fics than you thought you would this year, less than you thought, or about what you predicted?
interestingly, the answer is - far far fewer fics.... than i thought i had written this year/than i thought i would write. but quite a few more words than i usually write, despite that.
i wrote.... 4 big chunky fics of which 2 were very chunky.
and clearly - see above - the content was approximately what i predicted! although i had no idea it would fall out like this.
What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted last year?
brobelove is the obvious answer here - although the fact that it's queer means that it's not so unlikely - particularly after i ended up spending so much time with agatha in 'hopelessly miscast'.
i didn't expect that fic to end up so much about her, either.
What’s your favourite story this year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you the happiest.
i answered this question recently, the answer is 'restoration ecology' :) but as i say, lots of good stories this year, i thought.
Okay, NOW your most popular story.
RE is still more popular than 'Unintended' but maybe not forever.
Story most underappreciated by the universe?
hmm.... maybe 'work it' but it's a throwaway wingfic, so i feel like it got the attention it deserved.
Call Me Maybe is probably the answer - it's genuinely BRILLIANT, i was overwhelmed when i saw what had been done with this premise. i wrote the opening, so it's my fault if people are not being sucked in. and i know it's because it's agatha gen fic but i would love more people to read it.
Story that could have been better?
'work it' - but did it need to be much better? i mean, i definitely rushed the end/the sex, because the deadline was approaching...... but there is sex. and there are wings.
the beginning of 'restoration ecology' still bugs me, too. so much exposition - it only gets good when they're having sex. and then there's exposition again, and we have to wait for the sex again.
Sexiest story?
i only really wrote porn this year... and 'unintended'! probably the answer is 'restoration ecology', although if you like strap-ons, and who doesn't, perhaps you would like the brobelove.
Saddest story?
usually i have no answer for this, but ...... actually i think arguably 'restoration ecology' OR 'we all fall down' qualify, even though i can't really sustain angst without wanting to put in some jokes and simon saying 'everything's going to be ok now'.
restoration ecology is about healing, so it has to start fairly bleak and hopeless - and i think baz's breakdown is pretty sad, even though by the time we know about it, everything's basically ok for him.
meanwhile 'we all fall down' is about how baz is dying beautifully and simon can't love him ..... it definitely is the winner of this category, even though as i recall it, they mostly spend time holding hands and talking about how much they like each other. so it's not that sad.
Most fun?
'we were always more'! aka amnesia baz. how could anything else be the winner when i got to write a baz who purrs and wets flannels for simon? facewithoutheart is a writer of extreme range, but one end of that range is being extremely funny, and this set up is all her.
Story with single sweetest moment?
not sure....... my instinct says it's one of these:
1 - restoration ecology, partners. “Is that better, sweetheart?” (btw, i like that i just dropped these endearments in without comment and we have to wait a whole chapter for simon to tell us he's in love with baz)
2 - we all fall down, “It did work,” I agree. “Which means my father and stepmother were bound in holy matrimony by Buzz Lightyear.” although the sex is very reminscent of what i like about the Wales sex in RE
3 - Unintended chapter 5: Baz smiles. Swallows. Presses his forehead against mine. “Then marry me.”
Hardest story to write?
i find it very amusing that last year i was whinging about restoration ecology, but by the time i was doing the ao3 wrapped ask meme this month i'd forgotten it was hard to write at the beginning. it was hard. but then it was easy for the end.
this year's hardest story was.......... Simon Snow and the Third Gate.
it's not it's fault - it had too much plot, no romance arc (although i accidentally made baz the second main character despite saying i wouldnt) and i was in deep pregnancy first trimester tiredness.
'Unintended' also took months longer than i wanted it to. first chapter was quite easy, but later chapters where simon was more in his feels took.... more than the 2 weeks-per-chapter that i wanted them to take. a lot more.
Easiest/most fun story to write?
since i've remembered RE was a ballache at the beginning, gotta be 'Hopelessly Miscast'. i wrote a chapter of that a week, i think, and it's genuinely really good! i enjoyed it a lot.
'birthday man' was also really easy - i was a bit worried about it, but it's so free-ing to know that you don't need to finish what you started, and by the time i wrote anything, i felt confident enough not to have to write that much either. (by which i mean: there was a bit of me that wanted to be like 'is my bit the best??' which would have stressed me out. what i actually wrote is not the best bit, it's a bridge. but it's fine. i enjoyed writing it.)
Did any stories shift your perceptions of the characters?
'hopelessly miscast' made me think i could write agatha and really enjoy it. that's almost certainly why i ended up writing the strap-on fic later.
Most overdue story?
'Unintended' - it wasn't really overdue, but i wanted it to be finished months earlier than it was. but i think it was ok. it gave time for asticou to make art, which was lovely.
Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them?
yes! there was that bit in the middle of the year where i signed up for too many things. two CORBs and WIP fest - it was probably too much, but i like all the things we made! so i guess i learned - it's fine?
my other major risks were things like saying 'i don't know if i can keep posting every week!!' from this i learned - i can do it. for a while. but not always - i shouldn't beat myself up for 'unintended' not being written in 5 weeks.
the other major risk i thought i took was writing the baz-as-agatha sex. i think if i'd been less established as a writer in this fandom i would have been more worried about how it would go down. as it was, i was still a bit worried, but i also put up the framework of consent early on, and people were so nice about chapter 1 that it turned out fine. i feel other people have done lots more risque things this year than anyone has done so far (this is not really up there) - and it's been good! well done, fandom.
This year’s theme and the story that demonstrates it most:
i can think of two obvious ones.
the first is - collaboration!!! i barely wrote any collab stuff before this year, and yet this post has a huge list of things i either wrote with other people, or wrote based off art. i'm going to choose 'Seven Minutes' as the exemplar (even though it's probably 'Birthday Man') because it's the one that i asked to do, off the back of all the other collaborations going really well.
the other theme i noticed this year is ........ they aren't together but they're still kissing/having sex from almost the beginning of the story. i dont know whether there's a better name for that, but i didn't do it on purpose. i just like a slow burn AND for there to be sex. now i've noticed it, you'd think i would try and stop, but the only fic i know for sure that i will write next year is exactly this.
it's also a collaboration :)
What are your fic writing goals for next year?
let's keep it simple.
i want to:
a) fix up the ending of Third Gate b) write the strangers to lovers fic for/with @krisrix
if i do nothing else before the baby in May, but i do those two things, then we'll be ok.
otherwise, twigs_in_my_hair and i will hopefully write something together, watford era, her idea, but it's right up my street.
i think anything else is probably too ambitious! but if there's something you'd like me to write, or you want to work on something together, please do ask - i might say it's not possible or a project is not for me, but at the moment it feels like a good way to get me to possibly write! (and collaborating works well, as it means there's definitely someone to bounce ideas off/i know i have someone to pick up the slack if necessary.)
see y'all in 2023!

Sorry about this, but it’s is me moaning again.
I dunno. I am so worn out.
Everything is broken or breaking. Everything needs work. I can’t afford to fix or replace anything, and the basics of things like “shelter” are getting rather conceptual rather than real.
My body is failing me, and has so much wrong at once I don’t even think my standard answer to how I’m doing of “surviving” is true anymore. Like, the clock is ticking on when I break down for good. It can be summed up as: on physical/health level a pretty bad.
I need proper exercise, like not working on stuff, but like my walks in the woods. I miss the woods. I used to go every single day, and now I haven’t even been managing once a week!
I don’t have time for just being with animals, so they only see me when I feed them or give them medicine. I feel guilty all the time.
You know, I haven’t taken pictures of my sculpting for over three weeks now. I haven’t even taken a single photo in a week…a WEEK! ME! Who had been taking 5,000 photos a month! I carry my camera but I never have time or energy or focus or…I dunno, I just don’t care.
I haven’t gotten any sculpting ready to sculpt with. This little bit of old stuff will take forever to grind back into usable, and if I didn’t have to make an Easter gift for Mom I think I might just give up. It’s no fun with sculpey that crumbles and won’t stick, that has given my thumbs and fingers huge calluses, and I’ve no energy to waste making this god awful crap.
But I’ve gotta make something for Mom. I have no ideas and awful sculpey that won’t even let me attach ears on a damn rabbit! I’m really stressed about this…
Long ago I gave up writing except for my nightly journal entry. Even that has gotten to be more of a laundry list of my day since my life got too wrecked for contemplation. I haven’t missed a night since I was in my late teens, but for the last five months I’ve been falling asleep writing almost every single night! It’s gotten so bad that I am falling asleep before I finish writing about even my morning.
Then I wake up, at 3 or 4 am with a light burning my eyes, ink all over me, an a deep sense of fear and despair overwhelming me. I lie awake for hours, desperately trying to distract my brain from feeling like I’ve fallen out of a plane without a parachute.
Six hours of sleep. No matter how early I go to bed, or late I lie in, I can’t seem to get more than 6 hrs of sleep! I dream about sleep when I actually do dream.
I miss dreams. Proper dreams. I used to have the most amazing dreams.
I also miss daydreaming. I used to do that ALL the time. My hands could be busy but I could still conjure other worlds. . I loved being cozy in bed just so I could imagine, and now I lie there and worry. I can’t even daydream in that most perfect of settings!
Hell, I can’t think. As a child when people asked my favorite thing to do I’d say “thinking” first. Now it’s like there is no space or energy left over. Am I getting stupid too? I feel like I am. I certainly can’t focus.
That includes focusing on movies. I used to watch a movie every single night. Now even when I watch one I feel like it slides right out of my head. I “watch” it enough to tell you the gist of the plot but it’s like a partially over heard voice rather than a conversation.** I do a lot of “I think I’d like it, but I need to rewatch it when I can actually, you know, watch…”
I keep forgetting things. I understand why. I have soooo many things to do, new things get added every damn day, I have only one me to do it all, and this me is exhausted. Of course I forget things. But it still bothers me.
Today I remembered I had forgotten the new book to start reading Mom. I’d left it at her house yesterday, having picked it out before spending the next three hours working on stuff. So I went around there to get it to read it when I called her, but it turned out I had also forgotten where I put it. (In my defense, I’d set it on top of a stack of stuff I’d been sorting out, and when it fell over I’d been too tired to pick it up right then. It was kinda out of sight, out of mind under the pile) Then, when I went to call Mom it turned out I had forgotten to charge me phone! So today Mom never got her call because I’m a forgetful idiot!
I’m terrified I am going to forget to pay this one bill by the end of the month. I have to save the money for it out of my grocery funds, so it’s going to be after next week’s shopping trip before I can pay it. Until then I have it set up on the stove, which, yeah, is a bit of a hazard, BUT at least I have to look at it every day.
I have to look at it every day. My chest tightens when I look at it. And this is a doable bill! I just have to spend a few weeks with mac-n-cheese or bean soup. Imagine what it would be like if I had gotten the car worked on, like I need to, or if I went to a doctor, like a normal sensible person would do?
Sorry. I don’t suppose there is a point to all this. I’m tired, I feel rotten, my life is getting more precarious by the day, I am mostly not doing any of the things I enjoy, and not having fun when I try to. I have no money or energy or time. And, being isolated and alone in all this, I vent on my silly blog where people are trying to enjoy two year old snow pics without having to put up with my constant whining!
LOL/**sobs**
(And now I’m thinking of all the asks, comments, and messages I haven’t replied to yet. Geez! That makes inflicting this on you folks even worse!!)
**Movies are like conversations, at least if you do it right. Watching isn’t a passive experience as you let yourself go “into” the movie. It doesn’t matter if you hate it and mock it, or adore it and are inspired. Your watching reacts. You aren’t watching the “same” movie as the person sitting next to you, because you bring your experiences, personality, and so forth to it. The object of the movie is incomplete without a viewer, but each viewer completes it with themselves. Not explaining this well….

Spelled (Carlos de Vil x Sanderson Daughter)- Ch. 6: Send In The VKs
Tumblr media
"Yay! Today’s the day!” Fairy Godmother does a little happy dance as we finish the final touches on the VK meet-and-greet plans.
“So… Doug, you’ll be ready with the band, when I snap my fingers you’ll all start playing… Ben, do not overdo the speech this time!”
The future king groans. “What’s wrong with my speeches?”
“Well, for starters, your last speech to Mulan and Shang’s anniversary was written like it was the last anniversary they’d ever have! Just tone it down.”
Just then Remus walks up wearing a spiffy black suit and tie.
“Alright, I’m off to pick the jackals up!”
“Looking sharp, Remus! Getting all dressed up for the new students?”
“You betcha. And don’t worry, they’re gonna love you.”
I cringe. “Shows that much, huh?”
“Magica, you look like a cheap mannequin,” Audrey states in a perky tone as she walks up.
“Um, what are you doing here?” Doug asks.
“Um,” Audrey mocks. “I’m here to meet the new students as Ben’s girlfriend.”
I scrunch my nose. “Why is that important?”
She acts as if I’m stupid for not knowing the answer. “Because they need to know he’s mine, and I’m in line to be queen.”
To this day I am still not sure how that girl can keep that inflated head on her shoulders.
“Ok, just… try not to get in a tussle with the kids as soon as they arrive.”
She frowns. “Why would I do that?”
“I know you. Just don’t speak unless spoken to. Moving on!” I push past Audrey’s shocked face and go to double-check on Jane and the other band members.
“Ugghhh. I’m so nervous!” Jane panics as she paces back and forth.
“Relax, Jane. Leave the worrying to me. Why are you stressed?”
“Because they’re villain kids! They’re… untrustworthy-”
“Sneaky, lying, evil, and mean. I don’t know why Ben ever thought this was a good idea!” Audrey interrupts.
That’s how they see villain descendants? How they’d see me if I told them the truth…?
I feel my self-control drain and my temper start to boil.
“Shut up, Audrey,” I command sharply.
She tilts her head at me. “What did you say, freak?”
Dear God help me I’m going to kill her-!
“I said. Shut. Up!” I say in a hasher tone. I am trying so hard not to send sparks flying at her-!
“Magica! Remus just called and said the jackals are on their way.” Binx runs up to save me.
Audrey scoffs. “Oh look! It’s your little flea bag.”
It takes every ounce of energy not to set her perfect hair on fire.
“Say that again and you’ll get another squirrel in your room,” I warn with a sweet voice.
Before Audrey can respond we all hear a car horn.
“Oh! Here they come! Smiles, everyone!” Fairy Godmother announces as the limo pulls up.
Remus steps out. “Fair warning, they're a little rowdy.”
The back door opens, and two boys fall out. One has a blue and yellow vest and red stocking cap, and has the other boy in a headlock, but I can’t get a good look at him…
“Why do you want- whatever this is?” The smaller boy argues.
“Because you want it,” the other one replies.
Meanwhile two other kids step out, one girl with blue hair and the other with purple.
“Um, guys? We have an audience!” The teen with purple hair (I think she’s Mal?) calls as she and the other girl look over the gathered crowd.
The bigger boy lets the other one go, and now I can see-
Oh.
Oh.
Um, he’s… I can’t lie to myself. He’s wearing a red, white, and black jacket. Brown hair with dyed white tips, a curious boyish face sprinkled with freckles and chocolate brown eyes. And he’s adorable.
All my life I’ve never given boys a second thought. Why should I? They’d only think I was seducing them for favors like my scatterbrained mother, so I put any thought of finding the rumored “true love” aside and focused on my magic education. But now… It’s surprisingly hard to ignore my heartbeat skipping and my cheeks flushing.
“Hey, foxy!” The beefy-looking guy in the vest saunders up to Audrey. “The name’s… Jay.” He gives her a devilish grin while Audrey just smiles awkwardly and looks to me for help.
No way, toots. You’re lucky I don’t encourage him!
“I am Fairy Godmother, Headmistress!” FG announces proudly.
Mal’s face lights up. “The Fairy Godmother? As in… bibbity bobbity boo?”
“Bibbity bobbity you know it!”
They go on to talk, and I see Audrey waltz up to introduce herself. As Ben’s girlfriend, of course.
“Oh, my mom is a queen! Which makes me a princess!” Evie announces airly.
“The Evil Queen has no royal status here,” Audrey points out to the blue-haired teen. “And neither do you,” she adds with a smirk.
I can’t tell if Evie is confused or planning on murdering Audrey in her sleep, but it’s kind of fun to watch. While FG explains the rules of the school I sneak a glance at all the new kids.
Jay gives me a flirty look, but I just give him a warning stare and he backs off. Evie keeps looking at my outfit, and Mal keeps giving me a calculating expression. But the other boy, Carlos- he’s looking at me as if he’s seen a ghost.
Carlos’ POV
An angel? Do angels live in Auradon? I can’t tell if she’s an angel or if I’m hallucinating from all the candy I just ate. What I do know is that the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen is standing five feet away- and she’s looking at me!
Magica’s POV
After Fairy Godmother leaves Ben finally steps forward.
“It is so good to finally-!” He gets stopped by the intimidating one known as Jay. “-meet you all.” He goes to shake all the other kids’ hands, and I can’t help but notice he lingers slightly longer when he meets Mal.
Maleficent's daughter… What powers are you hiding…?
“You know what, I totally do not blame you for your mother trying to kill my parents and stuff!”
I try to suppress a groan. Here we go. Right on time, Audrey!
Mal and Aurdey get into a passive-aggressive fight, all ending with a subtle fake laugh. Alright, I’m done pretending this isn’t awkward.
“Oh please!” I snap my fingers and a pink firecracker pops from my fingertips. “If we could abstain from bickering over power we’d really like to move things along, right Ben?”
I see Ben give me a thankful smile, but now my magic has been introduced to the villain students.
“You have magic? That’s so cool!” Carlos exclaims.
“Yes… very cool.” Mal gives me another scheming look. “You seem familiar… have we met? Who’s your mother?”
I ignore her question and dominatingly stare right back. “My name is Magica. Glad to make your acquaintance, Miss…?”
The purple-haired teen nods her head at me. “Mal, daughter of Maleficent.” She points to the group behind her. “That’s Evie-”
“Daughter of the Evil Queen!” The blue-haired fashionista gushes. “By the way, I love your outfit! Puritan and Victorian mixed with mystic is perfect for you! But…” She suddenly gets up in my face and starts examining my face and hair. “A bit lacking on the cosmetics side. You’ve got to let me do your makeup! Oh, and maybe some color-!”
“Evie!” Mal orders and the blue-haired girl steps back, still looking at my hair. Now Mal points to the boys. “Jay, Jafar’s son.”
Jay gives me a stiff nod. “Nice to meet ya, trixie!”
I stiffen. “Don't call me that.”
Jay grins. “Why? ‘Cause it’s cute?”
“‘Cause it’s pathetic.”
“And last-” Mal interrupts and points to the last of the group. “Carlos-”
“Son of Cruella,” the cute boy comes forward (still with a stunned expression) and shakes my hand.
“Oh! Um- hello. That’s… very gentleman of you,” I mutter under my breath as I try to avoid accidentally singeing his gloves while the others are giving us strange looks.
“So, how ‘bout a tour?” Ben tries to cover up the yucky awkwardness and starts leading the group towards the castle.
Audrey clings close to Ben, who’s looking more and more tense. I walk ahead and go inside to find Doug at the top of the stairs.
“Hey! Ready to prep them on their schedules?”
He shrugs. “Guess so. How are they? Are they mean?”
I hold back a laugh. “I think you’re gonna like them. Especially-”
“Doug! Come on down!” Ben calls from the door. “This is Doug, and he’ll give you your schedules. If you have any questions or need anything-”
“Ask Doug!” Audrey interrupts as she starts leading Ben away with a tight smile. One day, Audrey. One day I will get you.
Doug, meanwhile, is trying to introduce himself but seems distracted by Evie and has a stunned look on his face. Which is strange because he’s usually so composed.
“Hi-ho…” He babbles as he keeps staring at the blue-haired VK.
“Evie, Evil Queen’s daughter.” Evie waltzes up and gives him a flirty smile.
“Excuse me did you say you have our schedules?” Mal cuts in.
“Oh, um… there’s chemistry, goodness class-”
“New course?” Mal asks with a bored tone.
“Don’t worry, it’s easy as pie.” I return her enthusiasm.
Mal seems surprised. “Really? You have to take a goodness class? What did you do?”
“It’s not what I did, it’s what they want me to do. FG wants all the magic kids to be able to do good deeds and all that jazz, so we’re taught how.” I lean in and whisper: “If you ask me, I’d rather be jinxing frogs to appear in the girl’s bathroom. You should hear the screams!”
Jay gives me a nod. “I thought I liked you, trixie! Wanna come to my dorm later and discuss more pranks?”
I see Carlos perk up, and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t interested in getting to know the VKs better.
“Sounds perfect! I’ll try to swing by after dinner.” I call as I leave Doug to attend to the new students and go to find Ben.
Carlos’ POV
Really? Magica wants to hang out with us? But why? She’s from Auradon. Isn’t she freaked out by us like the others?
“What’s going on?” Mal asks once Magica walks off.
“We just got a new prankster on our team!” Jay brags. “She’s meeting up with us later.”
“Are you serious? We need to find the wand! We don’t have time for a goody-goody wannabe witch following us around!”
I frown. “Mal I don’t think she’s all good. She actually has a sense of humor and isn’t a stuffy nobody like everyone else here. She’s actually nice to us!”
“Your rooms are that way.” The guy called Doug points to the opposite hallway and we all head off towards our new dorms.
“I don’t care! It’s her own fault she’s nice to villains, and it’ll only hurt her worse when we take over the world.”
“Jeez, Mal. I know we’re evil but I know a good prankster when I see one. That trixie’s actually got magic! Do you know how awesome that is?” Jay grins.
“I know how convenient it is to have her on our side,” Mal cocks her head. “But she’s still not a VK. We don’t trust anyone but us.”

50 questions for fic writers
@darkangel1791 asked that fic writing mutual answer these questions, and so here we go~
1. What fic of yours would you recommend to someone who had never read any of your work? (In other words, what do you think is the best introduction to your fics?) I’d start with a oneshot. The one that’s been the most well-received is a SPN/Teen Wolf (MTV) crossover about Stiles having an unreciprocated crush on Dean called Crush. The oneshot I think represents my style as a writer the most would be my BnHA/MHA fic called …save…. about Shirakumo overcoming Kurogiri’s programing enough to ask Aizawa to help save Shigaraki. The oneshot I think I did my best work on to date would be my IwtV (AMC) fic May You Get What You Desire Is a Curse upon the Dead, that explores desire via Devil’s Minion. I think this is my best oneshot, if not overall fic, because I alternated between two POVs, one in the past and one in the present, and I don’t cringe when I reread it.
2. Go to your AO3 “Works” page, to the sidebar with all the filters, and click the drop-down arrow for “Additional Tags.” What are your top 3-5 most used tags? Do you think they accurately represent your writing habits? Mine are 1) Originally posted to Fanfiction.net, 2) I Blame Tumblr, 3) Crossover, 4) Additional Warnings in Author’s Note, and 5) Other: See More Story Notes. I think that it does represent me as a writer because sometimes I wrote very long warnings lists and author’s notes because I always have something to say.
3. What are some tropes or details that you think are very characteristic of your fics? I write a lot of stuff where someone’s not!straight because I myself am not straight. I also write quite a bit of romance because it does fascinate me, but I’m also drawn to platonic pairs with strong bonds too.
4. What detail in [insert fic] are you really proud of? I spent a lot of time researching stuff about Japan to make my Banana Fish manga AU where Ash joins Eiji on the plane to Japan called Best Laid Plans work. I looked up school schedules, cultural notes, train ride durations, flight durations, food, culture, 80’s history, Google street views, etc…etc… The ending ended up being a bit of a you love it or hate it ending unfortunately, but I am proud of the work I put in to make the fic happen.
5. What do you wish someone would ask you about [insert fic]? Answer it now! I don’t think I have any specific questions off the top of my head, but if anyone has some fic-specific questions, my inbox is always open for them
6. What’s one fact about the universe of [insert fic] that you didn’t get a chance to mention in the fic itself? I should have been more clear that in my Black Clover soulmate AU Names and Promises that Asta and Yuno are platonic soulmates and said their first words to each other.
7. Any worldbuilding you’re particularly proud of? I’m really proud of my work on my BnHA/MHA soulmate AU Our Soulmate Academia because I fleshed so much out and had so much fun with things like quirk swapping and what life for an underground hero might entail, etc…It was also fun trying to guess what Horikoshi might do in the canon and try to avoid doing something too similar.
8. What song would make a great fic (to either write or read)? I want to do my Vampire Chronicles (AMC) inspired playlist as a fic series, but I do not have that kind of free time unfortunately.
9. How do you find new fic to read? Most of the time it’s whatever shows up via my subs in my inbox. But sometimes I just pick a fandom I want to read from and see what new fics are around
10. How do you decide what to write? Sometimes it’s based on a Tumblr post I read like my IwtV (AMC) crack fic We Have Thieves based on some Night Island (AMC) posts I’ve seen. Sometimes I’m filling in some blanks from canon like my Kakuriyo: Bed and Breakfast for Spirits fic Promises and Oaths where I hypothesized some things before the anime finished. Sometimes I watch something unrelated and it inspires a fic like the time I watched that Monuments Men movie and then wrote my Captain America Steve never becomes a super soldier AU called If No One Else Will. Sometimes I get inspired by other fics I’ve been reading like my Sherlock Holmes fic The Mystery in the Fog.
11. Are you partial to a certain character/pairing or are you more equal-opportunity? If you are partial to any character/pairing, why do you think that is? I’m a perseverative person by nature. Sometimes I blink and have like a handful of Devil’s Minion fics because it gives me brain worms or when I was in high school I always had an Inuyasha fic in my fic rotation because I loved that series so much. There was also a time I wrote too many Thick of It fics because I kept using the characters as a way to take a break from the novel I was working on at the time and several Tumblr users were giving me attention for those fics.
12. Are there any tropes you used to dislike but have grown on you? I started out pretty homophobic when I first started writing fanfic because I was very sheltered. Now I’m just very not straight and the characters I gravitate towards aren’t either. I also wasn’t into reading lemons but now I don’t mind them as long as there’s some sort of plot with it outside of the sexy times.
13. Are there any tropes you used to like but don’t anymore? I’m not sure. I’ve never really been big on searching out specific tropes, though sometimes I will go looking for stuff like those fics where someone swaps places with their younger self and the younger self gets to be in shock at their potential future.
14. Are there any tropes you would only read if written by a trusted friend or writer? If the AO3 author I trust the most wrote something like omegaverse I don’t think I would follow because that might be a step too squick for me.
15. What’s your favorite AU that you’ve written? I really like my Black Clover/Boruto crossover The Land Across the Sea where Boruto washes up on Clover’s beach, runs into the Black Bulls and Golden Dawn, and then some of both squads take him back to the Land of Fire, which is coincidentally the same country Yami came from. It was a speculation of what post-Spade Arc could be like written before the current Black Clover manga arc. (I wrote this because I think Yami and Naruto would have been friends growing up and they’re roughly about the same age if you take their ages at the start of their mangas in relation to publication year into account).
16. What’s an AU you would love to read (or have read and loved)? I think we need more Claudia lived fics in the IwtV (AMC) fandom. I also want to see Present Mic be more students’ mentor in fics.
17. What highly specific AU do you want to read or write even though you might be the only person to appreciate it? I want to write a BnHA/MHA AU where Class A has to travel back in time to save Yagi kind of inspired by Tenchi in Love. I’ve written a chunk of it but I hit a wall and I can’t seem to move forward with it.
18. If you wrote a sequel to [insert fic], what would it involve? I’m not sure. No one’s made any sequel requests in years.
19. If you wrote a spin-off of [insert fic], what would it involve? I want to take my IwtV (AMC) fic Dream a Memory of Me and remix it now that I have more memory and knowledge of what I should be doing with the characters. Louis also deserves to be utilized in a less haphazard way for the ending. Unfortunately I don’t have the time to do this so it’ll just have to be a testament to how much I was raring and ready to write Iwtv (AMC) fic that I didn’t take the time to refresh my memory properly before embarking on it.
20. If you wrote a prequel to [insert fic], what would it involve? I’m not sure but the novel I’m currently working on 100% could have a prequel but I think that might be too much for me because I’d have to delve deep into my time in middle and high school more so than I’m already doing for that novel.
21. If you wrote a “missing scene” in [insert fic], what would it be? Usually if a scene gets send to my dump file, there’s a good reason it’s not in the fic.
22. Who is your favorite character in [insert fic] and why? If it’s a Black Clover fic I’ve written, my favorite character is always Asta. He’s just so loud and friend shaped. I can’t help it. Like a little anime nephew.
23. What’s a trope, AU, or concept you’ve never written, but would like to? I’ve written so many. I think counting the fics lost to time and space, I’ve written probably close to or just over 300 fics since 2001. I think a lot of the ones I want to do I’ve already done maybe even twice over.
24. Are there any Easter eggs in [insert fic], and if so, what are they? Occasionally I make small references but frequently they small enough I can’t think of them off the top of my head.
25. What other websites or resources do you use most often when you write? I usually just use Word, Excel, and Google to find things.
26. Would you rather write a fic that had no dialogue or one that was only dialogue? No dialogue. Only dialogue can get confusing without being able to use said.
27. How long did it take to write [insert fic]? Describe the process. It took me a year and two months to get Our Soulmate Academia ready for posting. I wrote it as a giant first draft, edited it while breaking it into chapters, and then spot checked it before posting it. That’s the general way I do all my fics in the last few years. Makes it easy to finish chaptered fics.
28. Does anyone read your fics before you post them? If so, who? I used a beta way back in the 2000’s, who proceeded to steal my fic and post it as their own so I’m the only person who reads them before I post them with the exception of Kitty who has severed as my Britpicker many times.
29. What songs would be (or are) on a playlist for [insert fic]? Explain your choices if you want! We Have Thieves has its own little mini mix technically. The songs I reference in the fic are: “Every Breath You Take” by The Police, “Holy Diver” by Dio, “Little Red Corvette” by Prince, “Psycho Killer” by Talking Heads, and “Beat It” by Michael Jackson.
30. Have you ever written something that was out of your comfort zone? If so, what was it, and how did it affect your approach to writing fic thereafter? I wrote some smut for Best Laid Plans since part of the plot was unpacking Ash’s sexual trauma and sexuality. I kept it kind of simple and tried not to make it a spectacle. I’ve written other smut in some orphaned fics. Recently I had the opportunity to write smut in a couple of my IwtV AMC fics but I chose to fade out of the scenes instead because I don’t want to write smut in a manner that feels exploitative (which is why I orphaned the fics I did. I thought they were kind of exploitative and that’s just not how I want to be remembered).
31. What’s your ideal fic length to write? I’m not sure. I ordered my fics by word count and found that the 1,000 word mark occurs roughly half way down the list, so I think I just write whatever word count suits what the fic ends up being unless it’s a drabble that’s to a specific word count.
32. What’s your ideal fic length to read? Usually I try to keep it to under 10,000 unless I’m feeling ambitious or the fic summary is too good to pass up.
33. If you write chaptered fics, what’s your ideal chapter length to write? Is it different from your ideal chapter length to read? When I was in high school and university I would cap my chapters around 5,000 words especially because I was writing drafts without editing them and then just posting them like a weirdo. Now I like to write the whole thing out and if it’s over about 15,000/20,000 or so words I break it into multiple chapters of usually 5,000 – 10,000 words in length.
34. What aspects of your writing are inspired by/taken from your real life? I 100% used my own mom as inspiration for how to flesh Bakugou’s mom out in Our Soulmate Academia.
35. What aspects of your writing are completely unlike your real life? I have never been kissed. I can’t drink and I can’t drive. So, naturally I’m drawn to having a bit of romance in a good chunk of my fics because it fascinates me in the way that space or dinosaurs, etc… fascinate me.
36. Do you visualize what you read/write? If I can’t see a little movie playing in my head then I’m not going to be able to write it. This is also why I get compliments on my action sequences. I can easily visually keep track of everyone involved at all times.
37. Promote one of your own “deep cut” fics (an underrated one, or one that never got as much traction as you think it deserves!). What do you like about it? I wrote a My Life in Film and BBC Sherlock crossover called Distortion that I think worked out fairly well. I think the fact My Life in Film is an obscure TV show didn’t help it in the popularity department. I chose the crossover because Andrew Scott is in both shows.
38. Did any of your fics get surprisingly popular (whatever that means to you)? Which ones? Why do you think they were so successful? Only two of my fics have made it into people’s collections. They’re both Black Clover fics. The first one is Rest Young Soldiers which speculated on how the Spade Arc might end, and All Fortune Plays End where I speculated about how Asta’s devil powers might take over his body. I think I did a good job writing both fics.
39. Is any aspect of your writing process inspired by other writers or people? If so, who? It is not. I just do what works for my brain.
40. Do you tend to reread fics or are you a one-and-done kind of person? I do reread them. I like to reread my own as they come up on people’s bookmarks of my fics. I also have a trash memory so sometimes I reread fics when out looking for new ones and become that one Gandalf meme when I try to leave kudos.
41. Link a fic that made you think, “Wow, I want to write like that.” I have 28 recs out of 138 bookmarks and I feel this way about all of my recs.
42. Have you ever received a comment that particularly stood out to you for whatever reason? I got some flames back in my SPN days that graphically described how I should burn in hell for the fic I wrote. I also still think about the nice reviewer who complemented me on my Daniel characterization on my first IwtV AMC fic since that fic is pretty weak compared to my other ones in that fandom.
43. If you take/write prompts: what’s your favorite prompt fic that you’ve written? I’m not sure because I can’t remember which fics are prompt fics. But I always love writing them.
44. If you take/write prompts: do you prefer dialogue or scenario/narrative prompts? I don’t really have a preference. Though sometimes I’ll accidentally take it in a strange direction because that’s where inspiration took me.
45. What’s something you’ve improved on since you started writing fic? Editing hands down. I’ve gone from only running the spell check and immediately posting the first and only draft to doing a two round editing process.
46. Do you prefer writing on your phone or on a computer (or something else)? Do you think where you write affects the way you write? On my computer is preferred. Typing on my phone is obnoxious no matter what I’m doing.
47. If [insert fic] was a pair of shoes, what kind would it be? Describe the shoes. If my SPN fic Burn Mark were shoes, they’d have the mark of Michael branded into the toes and the soles would be made from metal like a cage. The leather would be well worn, possibly almost worn out and the shoe laces a little dirty.
48. What’s the last fic you read? Do you recommend it? The last fic I read was the latest chapter of Only Human by bandedbulbussnarfblat. If human AUs for IwtV (AMC) aren’t your thing, then I highly recommend The Human Perspective by the same author.
49. What are you currently working on? Share a few lines if you’re up for it! I am currently working on my novel so no sharing.
50. Answer any question of your choice, or talk about anything you want to talk about! I’m not really sure. I’ve been posting fic online since July of 2001. I have a lot of thoughts about it but not sure which to choose from. If people want to know more you all can always send me asks or messages about whatever questions you might have.

20 question writer meme!! Tagged by @jaggededges123
1. How many works do you have on ao3?
I have 122!
2. What’s your total ao3 word count?
239,332. :D a lot more then I thought!
3. What fandoms do you write for?
So I’m a “i write what I fancy” BUT my top fandoms I’ve written for are MDZS,Nope, Good Omens, and Danganronpa (if combined all my fics of each series together). My current fandom I’m writing for is Team Fortress Two where I have too many wips 😂
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Kidnapped? Rescued? Lies or Truth? - Svsss, 500 on the dot, Shen Jiu/Tianlang-Jun, Not rated
Can Peacocks Swim? - MDZS, under 1k, Jin Zixuan/Wei Wuxian, Teen
Talk Dirty To Me (In that Unnatural Voice of Your’s)- Scream, under 1k, Billy/Stu, Mature
Crowley is a very bad demon who does terrible things. Like take care of a bunch of orphans. - Good Omens, 3k, Teen
A Mark Without Pain- TGCF, under 1k, Qi Rong/Lang Qianqiu, Mature
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Almost always! Unless a comment makes me uncomfortable I try to respond to everything! Ive recently got some “more” comments that I haven’t but even comments that are just emojis i respond to. I love comments and love reading them so I try to get across to people I really appreciate them ☺️
6. What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I remember you… Do you remember me? ( https://archiveofourown.org/works/36298375 ) I had a whole 2022 Whumptober yet I think this one takes the cake on angst. So angsty I had to write an alternate less angsty ending 😂
7. What is a fic you wrote with the happiest of endings?
A New Beginning (https://archiveofourown.org/works/37391902 )
So I’m taking this as something that has angst but a happy conclusion - and I feel this fic is one of those.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Surprisingly no? I’ve gotten a few comments that are kinda iffy but most comments are very sweet!
9. Do you write smut? If so what kind?
Lots of smut- so much in fact most of its in my Works in Progress 😭 I’m so terrible at finishing smut but I usually go with darker themes ☺️
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
Oh!! Their all in my wips 😭 I did start making a Mdzs/Nope crossover which would probably be my strangest if I ever finished it up
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Nope, but one time one of my aus I made with a friend got stolen! But that’s s story for another time
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yes! Unfortunately I don’t have the link of the translation but my fic Pocky got translated into Russian ! (https://archiveofourown.org/works/27507364)
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before
Nope
14. What’s your all time favorite ship?
Statistically speaking- if going by number of fics- Aziraphale/Crowley. However, I have to say an all time fav would be Jessie/James (Pokémon) a ship I’ve never read nor wrote for. Just one of those childhood nostalgia ones.
15. What’s a wip you want to finsih but probably never will?
All of them 😭 In all serious though I’m terrible with long fics and while I have grand ideas it’s hard for me to stick through them. My Danganronpa/TGCF AU will forever be in my heart (and full planned on a discord server) but will likely never see any light of day.
16. What are your writing strengths?
I’ve been told my dialogue flows well and that I have a good hold on how people would react.
17. Writing weaknesses?
… Smut? I feel I’m slow on making it because I overthink it.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
Oh!! I’ve done this!! It’s fun and also terrible. I feel I’m getting translations wrong but I do my best. I did once try to write a whole fic in another language— unfortunately that fic is lost to time.
19. First Fandom I wrote For?
On ao3 Rick and Morty. On amino, though, I wrote for Undertale first. And my first fics were mini comics I made at home for Pokémon.
20. Favorite fic you’ve written?
The Inter(Viewers) ( https://archiveofourown.org/works/40985745/chapters/102715464)
It’s the longest finished fic of mine and I’m really proud of that fact! I put a lot into it and it has some of my favorite scenes.

writer questions!
nobody tagged me but I love this crap and am technically a writer so lets do it.
1. what’s your favourite genre to write?
Oooooo romance obviously, but more specifically I like writing fics that focus a lot on character analysis?
2. do you pull inspiration from real-life, or do you pull things from other books/fanfic?
I write a lot of AUs, but I do get a lot of inspiration from songs. I’ll also work in headcanons I see on tumblr and stuff
3. do you tend to write one-shots, short stories, or longer things?
I always want to write multi-chapter fics, but struggle to finish them. It’s a goal of mine to write more one shots instead of dedicating myself to 20k+ fics.
4. do you prefer description or dialogue?
DIALOGUE!!! I used to be obsessed with writing texting fics which gave me a lot of experience with dialogue, while leaving my description skills to suffer.
5. favourite fanfic/book of all time?
Bro. Impossible question, but my current favourite book is The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt. My favourite series is Six of Crows or  The Raven Cycle.
As for fics...I’m gonna forget so many BUT I’ll give you one for each of my top ships on AO3
1. Andrew and Neil (All for the Game):  Those That Broke Us by  WriteThroughTheNight  ( https://archiveofourown.org/works/9095254:)
This is atypical for me since it’s not romance focused, but is rather focused on Neil’s trauma from his mother and him realizing that the way she treated him was not okay.
Also shoutout to every “andreil fake rivalry fic” it is one of the few times I read established relationship and I eat it up every time.
2: Adam and Ronan (The Raven Cycle): while we're on the subject, could we change the subject now by  shinealightonme (https://archiveofourown.org/works/12643005)
A truly adorable neighbour AU. Honestly Pynch was one of the toughest to pick a favourite for.
3. Mickey and Ian (Shameless): I couldn’t decide between Fucked for Life by  Awritersmind (https://archiveofourown.org/works/21800806/chapters/52022443)
An interesting twist on the coffee shop AU where Mickey and Ian fall in love as adults rather than teens.
I read this a while ago, but I was OBSESSED it made me fall in love with the idea of Artist! Mickey and I loved how they wrote his relationship with his sister Mandy.
and None the wiser by Loftec
 (https://archiveofourown.org/works/4856489/chapters/11128907
Again I read this a while ago, but it is a diner AU and just utterly delightful. I love reading fics where Mickey had a good relationship with his son and this is is a really good one.
4: Remus and Sirius (Harry Potter)- My actual favourite Wolfstar fic has disappeared and is a Greatest British Bake off AU where Remus has fibromyalgia so if you know where to find it please let me know.
BUT a close second is Text Talk by  merlywhirls (https://archiveofourown.org/works/1651109/chapters/3501239)
If I’m having a shitty day I’m re-reading Text-talk. it’s that simple. It’s a wrong number AU where they muggles in the modern day and Remus is home schooled due to his health.
5: Boris and Theo (The Goldfinch)- They Fuck (it up) by  colish3
( https://archiveofourown.org/works/33547123/chapters/83356504)
A gorgeous fic about Theo dealing with the aftermath of the book, and maybe accepting his feelings for Boris.
6: Ben and Devi (Never Have I ever)- all the magic we gave off by  transfiguredtoad
Bevi trying their best to not still be into each other while in other relationships. Super addicting tbh.
6. favorite trope?
Wrong number! Enemies to Lovers! Fake Dating! There was only one bed! I’m a simple girl tbh. when writing I especially like writing about chronic illness but idk if that counts as a trope.
7. are you the kind of person to work on more than one wip?
Not successfully. If I start another fic the first one won’t be touched again til I’ve finished my new fic if ever again.
8. how long have you been writing for?
Since I was 14 so almost 9 years, but that has definitely not been continuous. I’ve gone years without writing anything.
9. do you tend to write more during the morning, afternoon, or evening?
I get an idea and write whenever I can until it’s either done or I’ve gotten distracted rather than having a set time of the day.
10. do you prefer to post your wip chapter by chapter, or do you prefer to wait until your wip is 100% finished before posting?
I prefer to finish everything first because I’ve found I won’t finish otherwise. Besides I like being able to go back and change stuff.
im tagging  @furoruisa and  @siriuslynotovermarauders   🙈  feel free to ignore this if it aint your thing. I also challenge anyone else who wants to give it a try.

f g p r from the fanfic ask game? please?
Hey bestie 🥰 thanks so much for the ask this one took me awhile lol
G - Do you write your story from start to finish? or out of order?
i like writing things from start to finish. key word: like. my brain, however, likes to jump ahead to specific scenes and events. i used to fight that bit and force myself to forge on along and wait until i finally made it to that part in the story.
lmao that was a horrible idea. those scenes would continue to haunt me and pester me until i finally give up and wrote them. so i just stop fighting it and write out of order. (honestly it was a blessing for me to decide to make my lmk one-shot series not in chronological order bc then i’d never get it done lol
it’s why my writing can get slow sometimes because while writing the chapter for the next event, i’ll be hit with some scene 2 chapters later or 3 scenes after some confrontation i haven’t started yet!!! i have ch7 for the dr geyer fic. it’s in my docs but i haven’t finished it bc someone *looks at brain* wants to write more of s6b bc Theo’s in that one >:(
P - Are you what George RR Martine would call an “architect” or a “gardener”? (How much do you plan in advance vs letting the story unfold as you go?)
you know, i know i read of this before like years ago but i don’t remember it lol. had to look it up to make sure i was understanding this right.
so… i think it depends?
with my merlin multi-chap fic and my medieval fantasy wip i plan those in advance. the merlin fic? i have that 1st arc’s plot down, i know where the story will lead to, i even know which characters i’ll keep alive or keep dead.
with my one-shots (and my one-shots that chose to say “fuck you”), those are a spur of the moment kind of writing. i had something playing in my head that’s wants to be free, so i write it down and pray that it’s satisfied (it typically is not which is why you see a lot of my one-shots become multi-chapters or one-shot series). these don’t have a solid plan when i begin. i tend to come up with it as the plot comes together.
tbh this works well with my fics bc i have a base outline: the actual show/book/movie. with my dr geyer fic, i know where s5-6 begin and end. sure, i’m choosing what gets to happen in-between, but i at least have the comfort of that base. the lmk series? it’s literally just me plugging in an oc and forcing a couple characters to air-out their issues.
R - Are there any writers (fanfic or otherwise) you consider an influence?
oh definitely. tbh my main one would have to be Lemony Snicket. fell in love with the narration of those stories. the snark, the personality, the vocabulary, the inner dialogue. idk it just did something to 9 year old me lol
another big one i’d have to say is Branden Sanderson. not really his writing, but how complex and beautiful his worlds are. i didn’t know that you could create and capture the essence such beautiful worlds in writing but reading his books and seeing them come to life really influenced my desire to write and design fantastical worlds or even just explore snippets of other worlds like BBC Merlin Albion.
F - Share a snippet from one of your favorite dialogue scenes you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it
babe, i’m so sorry but it took me forever to choose. i debated on whether i should do lmk or teen wolf or abc merlin or even shit i haven’t posted bc i love too many of these T^T
but dw i did find one (it’ll be under the cut bc this got long jfc). i giggled a lot when writing it just because the back and forth with Liam and Mason interjecting was fun. also i picked this one to prove the dr geyer fic hasn’t been forgotten. i’ve just been….preocupied and going feral over immortal monkeys

“I’m not here to start anything,” Mr. Doughlas said to them calmly. “I just want the mountain ash barrier open, mh?”
“Yeah, because this isn’t starting anything,” Liam growled.
Mr. Douglas smiled, sharp teeth in full display. Again, he twisted his claws in the chimera. Theo, again, kept quiet. The only indication he was in any being came from his winces. Liam can’t tell if he should be impressed or horrified that getting stabbed in the spine barely got a reaction out of Theo.
“This is simply a contingency. I just want the barrier open, then I’ll be out of your hair. I promise. No funny business.”
Theo chuckled (well, more like gurgled) and snorted.
“Says the Nazi.”
Douglas drove his claws further into Theo’s spine, polite smile cracking, in response. The chimera grunted, but Theo just laughed again.
“Sorry, sorry.” Theo’s smirk looked almost deranged with the blood coating his lips. “Nazi was the insult others threw at you, right?”
“He’s a Nazi?!” Mason shrieked.
Doughlas sighed, all politeness disappearing as he addressed them all.
“Must we obsess over my previous occupation? I don’t see how this is important. I was just a soldier there.”
“Oh yeah, being a part of a genocidal fascist group should totally be overlooked!” Liam exclaimed. “Not like you were involved in and advocated for any of that!”
“Yeah, it adds nothing for us to even slightly trust you,” Mason added.

Rules: shuffle your “on repeat” playlist* from Spotify or the music service of your choice and post the first 10 tracks
tagged by @normalamber!
The issue here is I have 3 spotify accounts but only really use them at work and when making playlists. (i don’t think there’s a way to get youtube to tell you what you’ve watched most, which would be more accurate) So... the one would tell you right now basically what’s on my karaoke backups playlist plus a couple songs on my playlist for the reddie fic i’m kind of writing. (it’s a little wild because after 14 it goes to songs i’ve never heard of? but i guess maybe spotify autoplayed them at some point) and the one of my work account basically just tells you i’ve been listening to the velvet goldmine soundtrack but i’ll start with that one i guess:
fwiw I Wrote Mr. Tambourine Man by John Craigie is the only song on both, and it’s def. fic related.
1. When Doves Cry by Prince (not on the Velvet Goldmine sountrack)
2. Needles in the Camel’s Eye by Brian Eno
3. I Wrote Mr. Tambourine Man by John Craigie (not on the Velvet Goldmine soundtrack)
4. Roll (Burbank Funk) by The Internet (not on the Velvet Goldmine soundtrack)
5. Ladytron by Roxy Music
6. Fat Lady of Limbourg by Brian Eno
7. Tutti Frutti by Little Richard
8. Sebastian by Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel
9. 2HB by Roxy Music
10. Coz I Luv You by Slade
should be pretty obvious which 3 i wasn’t considering as fun social karaoke songs
1. Raise Your Glass by Pink
2. Starships by Nicki Minaj
3. Truth Hurts by Lizzo
4. Twin Size Mattress by the Front Bottoms
5. I Wanna Dance With Somebody by Whitney Houston
6. Super Bass by Nicki Minaj
7. Die Young by Kesha
8. Good as Hell by Lizzo
9. I Wrote Mr. Tambourine Man by John Craigie
10. Guest Room by Future Teens
just out of curiosity i checked my iTunes, which was much more heavily used on previous computers. the highest play count is for Champs Elysees by Antje Duvekot, which is the unreleased song that gave me this fic, so like that was the only place i could loop it while writing. then over half as many plays for Running on Faith by Eric Clapton, no idea there, then Tour Song by Amory Sivertson is this fic, A Whiter Shade of Pale by Procol Harum, Rewind by the Paper Raincoat, Wild Awake by Tylan, Streets of Dublin by Eric William Morris, then I Don’t Get It from the musical adaptation of the Skin of Our Teeth (another only-here-in-my-itunes song). Finishing out the top 10, but we’re down to just 5 plays, Recoil by Ani Difranco and The Death of the Cog by The Cog is Dead.
